The Envy of Saul

In consideration of David’s frequent success and amazing skills in his service, King Saul promoted David, who continued to amaze his men and all Israel. Unfortunately, Saul had developed an ego problem, so he begins to resent David especially when he hears people singing, “Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands” (v. 18:7). In bitter envy, Saul tries to kill David, whom he now sees as the enemy instead of a loyal servant. Thus, the arrangement of a marriage between Saul’s daughter Michal and David is more about Saul’s desire to ensnare or ultimately assassinate David than a holy union, ironically.

About the Painting

The painting depicts Saul, the king of the Israelites. He is visually touched by the harp playing. The depicted situation comes from 1 Samuel 16:14-23 and 1 Samuel 18:8-11, in which King Saul is abandoned by the Holy Spirit, and God sends him an evil spirit. It taunts Saul, and only David’s harp playing can relax him. Later David married Michal, one of Saul’s daughters. He eventually succeeded his father-in-law as King of the Israelites.

Some more art of Twisted-Brainrot's new OC, Giggle, based on the Golden Harp from "Fun and Fancy Free." TB has been experimenting with the idea of Giggle being either a cyborg or a full-out automaton by nature, rather than a typical human. So far, his wings have been made mechanized, and he has an obviously mechanical limb. Billy doesn't seem to mind any of this. His Little Songbird is totally precious to him, no matter what he's made of. ;) Also, yes, Giggle IS a student at RSA. Take from that what you will. XD

Meet Giggle

My dear friend, Twisted-Brainrot, has begun creating their own OC for the universe of Twisted Wonderland. The character is still very much a work in progress, but their name is "Giggle" (last name pending), and they are TB's own TW-ified version of the Golden Harp from "Fun and Fancy Free." Naturally, being based on such a character (and belonging to TB), the character is being shipped with my boi, Billy Geant. So, yes, I now have two different friends, each with an OC based on the Golden Harp, and each shipped with Billy. The big guy must be pretty darn popular. XD Anyway, a lot of this character is still a work in progress, but TB has asked if I could upload some of the art they've been making with the little guy, since he does plan to develop them and play with them in the future. It's only a matter of time till I write for them, as well. XD Expect more artwork on the subject in the near future.
