Has anyone else also been asking about a DVD release of Dead Boy Detectives? Like I definitely want the show to come back but if that doesn't happen I need it to be on DVD so that it won't just end up disappearing into a void at some point in the future.

Not just that but I want all those things that DVDs come with: special features, interviews, blooper reels, commentary tracks, etc.

Seeing some of the cast and crew posting on social media I'd just love commentary tracks from so many of them, not just the directors/showrunner/cast but ALSO people from the writers room, you learn so many interesting behind the scenes stuff from these and I miss getting them for shows. The ones that were on the Stargate Atlantis DVDs are some of my favourites.

I've ranted a whole lot about the importance of physical media in the past. I love physical media. I have a CD and vinyl collection of stuff from my favorite bands, and am currently getting back into reading and found I vastly prefer physical books over both ebooks and audiobooks. I got the entire DVD box of ATLA last year just so that I can watch it whenever I like.

But it took me until today to realize that the reason why is because of how badly all these digital streaming service-platforms have affected me.

Like, I found art from a webcomic a while ago that I thought looked really interesting, but have been putting off reading the thing for MONTHS. I couldn't quite put my finger on why until I found out yesterday that there are printed, physical copies for sale of the entire webcomic itself in book format. And despite absolutely insane shipping costs, I could at some point buy it, and keep it.

And now I finally started reading it, and I'm loving it.

Turns out, I would rather put myself through sickening, nauseating FOMO than risk the piece of media getting taken off the platform it's available on in the middle of me reading/watching it.

sorry not to talk about political rpf again but this is shennant related i promise bc its on the david tennant podcast episode with michael sheen that michael sheen calls the deal 'a love story between tony blair and gordon brown' . notably ALSO the SAME podcast on which david tennant interviewed the REAL gordon brown. funny thing for michael to say also because having now read a very long book about it all i can comfortably say that the deal is about a third as gay as whatever was going on in the british labor party in real life. like michael sheen of all people actually de-gayed a british prime minister. okay thank u thats all i have been enjoying seeing ur shennantposting stay crazy 🙏
