Hey so we all think about this a regular amount..

Like I'm not the only dude thinking of Hosea and Dutch and their suits having the exact brooches, right??

I even went to search which these could be, and their meaning. Apparently, white flowers symbolize purity and innocence — and whatever flowers these may be ( google had given me carnations and camellias—If anybody actually knows what flowers their brooches are, do say!! ). I also, believe that white carnations usually(?) partake within a wedding? Because they too symbolize "pure love" and from what I had quickly found, "devotion". I seriously do not know, I'm not at all understanding of flowers so take what I yap to a grain of salt. I just felt silly today and wanted to look into this because I had to replay The Glided Cage mission!! Okwy im done yapping im gonna make a dutch edit- everyone please have yourself a wonderful dayyy!!!! Mwahmwahhh <3

One of my fave contrasts between Phoenix and Edgeworth is actually how they both adopt Responsible Adult Roles when presented with children, but in very different ways, that speak to their personality differences.

When Phoenix meets 6-7 year old Trucy, the first thing he says is "Oh, hello, that's a cute outfit!" - because he's a pretty open guy, and he has no problem approaching a child on their level.

Edgeworth, when presented with kids, is much more like "well I'm talking to a smaller adult? I guess?" and it kind of goes down well, because he just comes across as awkward rather than mean. He wasn't very good at being a kid when he was one, but he still tries.

(The one exception being Eustace, but I feel like there's extenuating circumstances with that one, and the minute Eustace stops being...Like That, Edgeworth immediately adopts an advisor/teacher role with him.)

I think being a Dutch hater is very good and valid because in canon he really is not a saint, but when people make the man into a villain in their fics by making him violently homophobic? The "come on, old girl" Dutch van der Linde?? The "We did it, Hosea" *holds hands homoerotically* Dutch van der Linde??? Really?????

A Fishmonger at the Door

Description

For a long time, this painting hung high on a wall in the Prince William V Gallery: the Mauritshuis annex. Today’s striking colours and subtle details were hidden beneath a thick layer of brown varnish that was more than sixty years old. This meant that you could no longer see the three-dimensional effect of the floor. The varnish was easily removed in 2006 and a flawless painting emerged from underneath. An asset for the museum.

Can you see the year 1663 above the door opening? This also suddenly reappeared during the varnish removal. The painter made some of his best works in that year. Look, for example, at how the gleaming fabric of the skirt has been painted! The picture was given a new layer of varnish and was also reworked in places. After the application of a final varnish layer, this attractive painting was given a new place of honour in the museum.
