Whats the ventilation and heat like in the suit head? I can't tell if it would be warmer or more cool to wear in compaison to a faux fur fursuit head. Okay first of all I'm super jazzed to be able to talk about this with people, and I kind of went overboard answering this, but thanks for asking! Putting this up in case anyone else is curious.

The main answers to your questions are 1: wool is cooler than acrylic fur and less stinky

2: A fursuit head is a swamp and i am snorkling in it.

I mentioned this in my behind the scenes post and there are pictures there but I literally just made a snorkel out of a snorkel mouthpiece and two collapsible automotive funnels, the kind that you can bend into a shape so that you can get goo into a weird part of your car.

that snorkel piece goes straight out of a vent hole in the inside of the ear and I felted a pink skin flap in front of it and then felted white fiber into that so it just looked like a tuft. it worked perfectly, it's just that I couldn't talk in it that well. But I'm definitely going to keep using it if I can't think of a better mouthpiece for it because as SOON as I breathed inside the head instead of through the snorkel I was like oh my god everyone is living in hell.

As for cleaning the wool, I cannot find anyone else who has done this who has cleaning tips for me, but the foam is what I'm worried about. After a few hours of wear there's nothing wrong with the wool at all, but i can TELL the foam is ever so slightly nasty, because the foam is polyurethane and wool is what you make hiking socks out of. I have some wool cleaner coming in the mail that's made for delicate needlefelted items like scarves and deposits lanolin, which is what keeps wool "alive" kind of like how you have to care for leather. It's definitely an experiment! Nothing ventured nothing gained!

I don't have an idea in mind for a second head right now and the next thing I want to make is a cowl so I can wear lower-cut tops with this head, but I might try something else if I think of an idea! I'm probably never gonna sell these because I'm weird about selling sculptures for whatever reason. They're like my living beasts.

He said something about running away from a group called the –Cemetery Winds?? What is this, ghostbusters?

Covering that shame as well as he can, pulling in his usual stoic fearless leader facade as he explains each and every one of your answers. 

Eventually, everything leads back to needing Ratchet and his team back. He knows they’re safe, but they don’t know he’s safe. It’s his obligation to make sure the last of his kind still held their helms strong. But what if… just what if, any of them takes a look at you in the wrong way? Shaking off the thoughts as he pulls himself together, telling you to get ready as he’ll be making contact with the rest of the crew.

Overjoyed, the rest of the autobots knowing Optimus is safe and sound, as the semi rolls into the canyons to greet them. He’s talked you out of coming with him for your own safety, as well as… simply not subjecting you to the disastrous group. Someone as precious as you do not deserve to be caught in their war, and especially not in the optics of others. 

The fight with Lockdown was not an easy one. He’s a formidable opponent having both humans and the creators on his side. The battle comes to a standstill, and Optimus is on the losing side. Rage and fear boiling inside him, only to be subdued by pain and weariness. Is this really how the lights will go out? Primus must have a sick joke if taunting someone who finally cares about him –and then ripping out the same spark that glows for her. Hound is out of ammo, resorting to grenades. Bee is far up in the sky fighting with Stinger aboard Strafe. He doesn’t even know where the others are, barely clinging onto life as Lockdown points his headcanon on Optimus’s helm.

Amidst the chaos, cars blowing up everywhere, humans screaming and running, He spots a semi making a mad dash towards them. One of theirs? Not possible, he would have known of any other autobots. As it speeds closer, he notices it definitely is not Cybertronian. A human civilian. If anything, the hot pink Itasha definitely gave it away. What in Unicron’s aft are they doing driving towards them?

You’re pissed. Telling you to get ready and then fucking ditching you? After you patched him up? Motherfucker just gonna get free medical care and not pay up? This is the United States! You’re totally going to overcharge him! Scrambling your boots on after Optimus transformed and rolled off, you said fuck it. You deserve a piece of the action as much as anyone. Lugging your AR-15 over your shoulder, –unironically matching your truck, both wrapped in hot pink. Though the truck definitely made you cringe. Getting an Itasha when you just became an adult was definitely a mistake. But getting it changed consistently slipped out of your mind. You grew used to it. At least the trailer of your semi wasn’t as bad. Just covered in vinyls and decals. –Oh and some stickers. Now that you think about it, it’s not just hot pink, it's a hot mess. But hey, when were you not a mess? 

One hand on the steering wheel, you pop the other arm and your body out the window. Riffle in said hand, resting on your shoulder. Screaming as you tell whatever the fuck is on top of Optimus to go fuck off and die in a ditch. You’re not about to let anyone, human or –or whatever this thing is, to fucking ruin your hard work.

Optimus’ optics widen to a degree he himself didn’t even know was possible, screaming your name as a surge of electricity jolts through him. Whatever the humans called adrenaline. A firework of bullets comes through, one after another. Dealing miniscule damage to both him and Lockdown, but a welcomed distraction. Blindsiding Lockdown as it gave Optimus the edge to stand back up on his pedes, newfound rage for both the bounty hunter and the reckless human ignoring his commands. 

He’s not used to people disobeying him. Sure, they might complain and banter, but eventually stand down. Yet this tiny human? One that can barely reach across a table saw? Infuriating. Yet somehow the fire in your spark –if you had one, is so powerful that it drags him closer to you. Wanting more. 

Snapping him out of his trance, he hears you call his name, as you aggressively spin the steering wheel, drifting the semi. The trailer slamming into lockdown, dragging his body across the container, as you spin.

“OPTIMUS! SNAP OUT OF IT! FINISH HIM!”

That was the words of encouragement he needed, rampage taking over as he snatches Lockdown off your trailer and slamming him into the ground. Canon pointed on his chassis, blowing his spark chamber out. 

It hurts to hurt one of his kind, if lockdown can even be considered his kind. But what’s more infuriating is that lockdown put you in danger. Or that you came to the danger yourself? Doesn’t matter. He’s too upset to care. 

Wait.

(This is me, writing reactions as I read, because why the fuck not. They're not complete, mature thoughts taken after I sit back and evaluate what I've read. Consider them as such)

I read a fic where Grue was describe as suffering from 'FYGEP' - Fuck You Get An Evil Power' (i.e. he got a power that's just... really hard, optically, to use as a hero even if he was so inclined) and... yeah, he's playing that card hard here.

“Got enough?” his voice echoed.  I thought maybe I caught a touch of humor in his tone, behind the influence of his power.

These weren’t just the bugs I could draw in at a moment’s notice, though.  Traveling the city had given me the chance to be picky.  These were the good ones, each of them fast enough to keep up with me, or capable of being carried by those that were.  More than that, though, the majority of them were either durable sorts like the larger centipedes, cockroaches and beetles, or capable of stinging and biting, with bees, wasps, ants and blackflies making up their bulk.  To round out their number, I’d gathered moths, houseflies, and mosquitoes, who weren’t the best attack bugs out there, but were easy enough to get, and served to distract the enemy or bulk out the swarm. There were three hundred and fifty cubic feet inside the rear of the van. Tattletale had told me that.  When they were packed in just tight enough that they wouldn’t damage each other or spill past the barrier and into the front seats, it added up to a pretty amazing amount of insects.  I called them out of the van and watched as their mass seemed to expand as they spread out.

Of all the costumes, this one sounds the most visually interesting. Definitely would love to see a life action interpretation.

Pretty terrifying power when you think about it.

I closed my eyes.  With a mental command, my bugs flooded into the room from the hallway behind us, flying and crawling over, under and around us to spread through the room.  I noted each person in the lobby as my bugs made contact with them, and left several bugs crawling on each individual.  I took five seconds to double check I’d gotten everyone, and belatedly remembered the two employees we had brought forward from the back offices.  A group of bugs returned from the darkness, brushing my skin on their way to make contact with the pair.

As I saw the effect I’d had on these people, that justification felt really thin. I was going to hell for this.

WH40KR: Space Marine Chapter Armor

Space Marine Power Armor for the Chapters was designed to be both powerful and simple as possible to help better accommodate the hundreds of variations that is to be expected of each Chapter as there are supposed to be 1,000 of them. The design extends to gender allowing both men and women turned into Space Marines to wear it with no restrictions. The basic parts of the Space Marine Chapter armor is the Power Armor, Biosuit, Helmet, Groin Guard, Hip Guards, and Rocket Shoes.

The most basic component of all of the pieces of a Space Marine’s Armor is the Power Armor. Made of Condensed Ceramite, a material that looks like metal but is much stronger as it does not dent or rupture even when being hit by a high caliber projectile of great power. The only weapon capable of harming it is the Bolter Gun designed by the God Emperor himself as well as the lesser imitations created by the United Churches.

This allows a Space Marine who is already strong enough to bend steel like clay and punch through stone walls, to perform even greater feats of strength and be able to withstand all sorts of damage that they couldn’t before. This alone makes a Space Marine powerful and though the Power Armor should not be ignored, it is not as essential as the five other components that grant the Space Marine unrivaled strength.

1) The Biosuit - created by the Institute under the orders of the God Emperor himself. The Biosuit is made with cybernetic nanofibers, programmed to act as a secondary nervous system that recognizes the wearer as the main body. Once worn it enhances the senses of the Space Marine, including their sense of danger. The user will naturally be able to dodge any incoming attack with great mobility. Not only that but the suit is strong enough to resist even Electro Accelerate bullets, though it loses its durability with every continuous shot. Its durability will not recover without rejuvenation with "Sacred Oil". 

Thankfully its cybernetic nanofibers are smart enough to recognize wounds and thus patch them up to allow a Space Marine’s regeneration to heal even faster. They can even quickly cover and sterilize wounds that are the cost of lost limbs. Though of course if the lost limb is still intact and is covered with the biosuit, then it can be reattached with the biosuit mending the connection. 

2) Helmet Visor - More like a mask than a helmet but made with the same material as the Power Armor making it strong enough to withstand a few Bolter shots before it starts to break if the bolter shots don’t stop. The common model is divided into four pieces that can extend apart to open and reveal the face. The sole purpose of this function is to allow the Space Marine to occasionally eat their protein bars or drink Elixir.

Once closed and placed on the face it will sync with the Biosuit allowing the Space Marine to control the Computer Visor with their thoughts alone. The computer visors on the eyes allow the Space Marine to see more than ever before; night vision, heat vision, movement, vibrations, possible hiding points, identifiable Xeno biosignatures, and so much more. With the Helmet Visor nothing escapes the sight of a Space Marine. There are other versions of the common Helmet Visor, but all possess the basic system functions with the main difference being how well they do so and what is given priority. The basic model does not have visible air filtration (the vents are tiny and at the sides of the mask like Helmet) but make no mistake the purified air a Space Marine can breathe through its Helmet Visor is just as fresh as the air found on the Shining Star of Terra.

3) The Groin Guard - Technically the main focus of what is being guarded is the privates but calling it the Private Guard was considered out of the question. Though it is meant to be a protector of the sexual organs of the Space Marine it is also the main area of waste collection. This process is maintained by two separate components. The Waist Collector and Condenser and the Essence Collector. 

3a) Waist Collector and Condenser - takes the waste of the Space Marine and condenses it into Essence. Times are tough in the 41st Millenium, resources are only plentiful when plundered from Xeno planets but due to the massive stretch of the Galactic Imperium it can only afford to expand to new worlds when one already in its grasp has been destroyed. As such recycling methods have been implemented in almost all of the Galactic Imperium’s aspects and the Space Marines were not spared from this.

These components covering both the private in the front and the anus in the back collects all waist. Thanks to the advances of the Institute, even waste can be recycled and transformed into essence, though not very much. It actually can take months before an Essence Collector has to be emptied and the Waist Collector and Condenser must be cleaned. The main take away is that a Space Marine can go on fighting or traveling for months without ever having to worry about needing a restroom break.

3b) The Essence Collector - a small device on top of the Waist Collector and Condenser contains three vials that will be filled with the essence created by the Waist Collector and Condenser. As stated before typically takes months for them to be filled but once they are they are normally emptied and collected by Priests maintaining their DNA factory. This is done to ensure the supply of DNA that is used to create New Space Marines, as well as Space Marine organs, limbs, and even entire bodies for injured Space Marines never runs out. It's actually thanks to this particular essence that the DNA within the factories can be purified for the past eight Millennium and for the next one hundred. 

4) Hip Pocket Dimension Guards - Like the rest of the Power Armor is strong though it’s main purpose is to store items in a pocket dimension that are only activated when the plates on the Hip Guards open. Once opened two separate Pocket Dimensions are available to each Space Marine for them to place all of their weapons. Created and maintained by the Church of Novila these Pocket Dimensions can hold any weapon or essential item for the Space Marines though they can never put anything larger than a spear or rifle and nothing living like a human or Xeno prisoner. Even meat chunks or cut off limbs will instead be vaporized if placed inside, it does make the Pocket Dimensions a surprisingly good surprise trap. A Space Marine could simply open it up and force an enemy's head inside, quickly vaporizing their face.

5) Rocket Shoes - The most essential item in regard to the movement of a Space Marine, allows them to jump higher, run faster, and even fly in the air for a short period of time. Naturally Space Marines who have wings or Unique Traits that allow them to fly do not use these shoes very often but that does not deny how useful they are.

Without the Rocket Shoes the mobility of a Space Marine would be severely limited and their speed decreased. This is not to say that Space Marines would be useless without them, but not as many Imperial Worlds would be alive today if the Space Marines were robbed of these shoes. Both contain enough “Sacred Oil” to power themselves nonstop for at least a full year. However, if a Space Marine ever needs more power the Bio Suit can drain and convert the Essence within the Essence Collector to create more Sacred Oil.

louise would be picky as hell. strangers she barely cares about wouldn't be the best option and it almost never happens in her hometown if they show concern for her wellbeing—at least from her experience. it's a dog eat dog world and the only people able to get close enough to the ice queen are her chosen friends, family or significant other. they're the ones who can offer a listening ear when she vents out her frustrations. she'll even appreciate the wise advice despite feeling capable of solving the issue herself, but in the moment she won't care because at least someone genuinely cares enough to be there to listen and offer a helping hand if they see her struggling with her problems whether it's mental or physical.

however, i will say when it comes to personal problems like firestorm, her family or crystal? she becomes a raw, infectious wound on the inside out. this is partly where most of her peers leave her alone unless they can relate to her trauma. louise is used to covering her despair with anger and will automatically shut down the conversation in a gentle manner since she does care about her loved one unlike her usual self that would threaten a stranger for mentioning her past. if she's with a friend that understands abandonment or loss then she'll be susceptible to their experience and feel secure to mention her vulnerabilities.

Delsin shows up in Manhattan to stop the second Blacklight outbreak, mistaking Heller for another Mercer's infected minions.

Analysis: Delsin

Seven years after Cole sacrificed himself to stop the Beast, the few Conduits that remain in the US have been labeled as Bio-Terrorists by the government, seen as inherently dangerous due to their incredible powers. As such, the Government created the Department of Unified Protection, a group of government sanctioned Conduits tasked with hunting down and imprisoning "Bio-Terrorists".

With full government authorization to do whatever is necessary to contain a threat, the DUP has no problem inpounding and torturing innocent civilians, to the point of brutalizing an entire Native American tribe and leaving them to slowly die of their wounds.

Unfortunately for the DUP, this act of brutality just pissed off one of the most powerful Conduits in history, Delsin Rowe.

Delsin Rowe was the mischievous outcast of the Akomish Tribe, a lovable delinquent with a knack for graffiti and a gift for parkour. This all changed when a Conduit escapee came barreling through his village and Delsin's own Conduit powers awoke to copy the escapee's. When the DUP brutalize his village looking for the escapee, Delsin gets the idea to use his new powers to heal them. If he can copy the powers of the DUP leader, Brooke Augustine, he can remove the concrete shards stuck inside his fellow tribe members.

On his way to avenge his family and save his home, Delsin copies a whole host of superpowers from other Conduits. From the first escapee, Hank Daughtry, he copies the power of Smoke. From the vigilante killer Fetch Walker, he gains the power of Neon, and from the closted shutbin Eugene Sims, he gains the power of Video, each with a huge variety of powers.

With Smoke, he can blast fire out of his hands, superheat the chain around his wrist for combat, turn into smoke to dash through objects and vents, fire smoke grenades, levitate with firey thrusters, create smoke restraints, and even sufficate you. He even shows the ability to manipulate this power on the molecular level, able to transmute people into smoke for him to absorb and turn his smoke into organic matter to heal people's wounds. He can even go as far as to turn himself into a giant bomb, drop from the sky like a nuke, and explode on contact with enough power to sink a concrete island. After which, he just regenerates from the smoke like nothing happened.

With Neon, Delsin can turn into Neon light to dash at lightspeed, run up walls, toss gravity grenades that leave people helplessly hovering in the air while frozen in time, turn his chain into a lightsaber, speed up his reaction speed so that everything moves like a blur to him, shoot neon lasers out of his hands, and reduce human beings to neon particles through Mass Energy Conversion, making his targets explode into Neon energy.

Video, which might more accurately be referred to as Data, allows him absorb and manipulate the pixels and data from any technology with a screen. With it, he can summon angels and demons made of pure data, shoot homing swords from his hand like missles to down attack helicopters, fly on wings, and even turn invisible.

And, of course, there's Concrete from Augustine herself. With it, he can shoot massive disks of stone out of his hand, cover himself in armor and charge through all your defenses, and even generate concrete shards inside of your body, completely nullifying a Conduits powers and potentially damaging vital internal organs.

The problem with all of these remarkable abilities is he has to pick and choose. He can only use on element at a time and to switch, he has to absorb an element from the environment, just as he does whenever he runs low on his energy and needs to recharge. Hell, he can only take Concrete from the dead bodies of other Concrete Conduits, so he wouldn't be able to use it in a fight at all in most circumstances. And, every time he copies a power from a Conduit, all of his powers get completely sealed off until he restores them with Ray Field Energy.

Overall, Delsin is one of the most powerful and versatile Conduits the inFAMOUS universe has ever seen, rightly dubbed the "second coming of Cole" by his adoring public audience.

Analysis: Heller

It had only been fourteen months after the first Blacklight Virus outbreak had ravaged Manhattan. Fourteen months since New York City begain putting itself back together and its people began to truly live again when the second outbreak struck. Alex Mercer, once the begrudging savior of New York, had completely abandoned his humanity. He'd seen the selfishness of humans and grown disgusted with it, prompting him to unleash a second strain of Blacklight on New York. Deadlier, faster, stronger. This new strain would burn humanity down so that Alex could rebuild something from the ashes.

This attack would leave Sgt. James Heller without a family. He would come home from his tour overseas to find his wife and daughter dead. Stricken with grief, Heller would request reassignment to the front lines of the Manhattan quarantine, hoping to go down swinging to join his family in the afterlife. What he'd get instead was a once in a lifetime shot at revenge against the man responsible. Heller would go at Mercer with nothing but a knife, successfully slitting Mercer's throat.

Unfortunately, this is Alex Mercer we're talking about, so he just regenerated. Impressed with Heller's unrelenting determination, Mercer would transform Heller into one of his "Evolved", allowing James full access to all the powers granted by the Blacklight Virus, while still allowing him to keep his higher brain functions and humanity.

Mercer would attempt to manipulate Heller into helping to bring about his new world order, but Heller would eventually see through his tricks. This would backfire in the worst possible way for Mercer, as James Heller had nothing to lose and wanted nothing more than cold blooded revenge.

James Heller has all the powers you could expect from the Blacklight Virus. He can regenerate and shapeshift down the cellular level, allowing him to regrow from nothing but a puddle and shapeshift himself into any weapon he could possibly need. He can turn his arms into blades and claws to slice apart tanks, create spiked shields that can reflect rockets, grow armour to become completely bullet proof, and turn his arms into whips to pull helicopters right out of the sky. He can even alter his body's density to allow him to glide through the air.

And, like any good bioweapon, Heller can assimilate anyone he touches, copying their genetics and memories perfectly, allowing him to shapeshift into them and even copy their powers perfectly. Using this trick, Heller would devour his way through the ranks of Mercer's Evolved lieutenants, copying all of their powers. He can summon Hunters, giant bio-organic monsters that can crush tanks with their punches, to assist him battle, unleash the Blacklight Virus as a gas, and unleash massive Devastator attacks when he has enough biomass stored within him. Such as the tendril barrage Devastator, which shoots tendrils out of his body everywhere, absorbing everything within a mile radius of him.

Despite having a loud, bombastic temper that would put Kratos to shame and not being good with technology, Heller is a very intelligent and strategic fighter. He has all the combined experiences of every marine and Blackwatch soldier he's absorbed on top of everyone Mercer has and he's smart enough to see through Mercer's bullshit when he tries to string him along. He's frequently able to play the military, Blackwatch, and Mercer's Evolved against each other when he needs to and is skilled enough to take on groups of Evolved at once, many of whom have his same powers.

But despite his monsterous powers and quick temper, Heller would not lose his humanity. He would spare his former commanding officer after learning he too has a daughter and would go out of his way to protect the pastor at a local church. Heller would not succumb to the inhumanity that Mercer had. Not when he had a daughter counting on him. When he learned his little girl was still alive, he found the drive he needed to overcome Mercer once and for all.

The nightmare was over. The infection was gone. And Alex Mercer was dead. Only one question remains for James Heller and his daughter. What now?

This fight is very similar, yet simultaneously very different to Cole vs Alex.

On the one hand, Delsin could resist the Blacklight's assimilation and infection abilities much as Cole could. He should be immune to the disease much as Cole was, because being immune to disease is a trait applicable to all Conduits. That's why the Beast believed only Conduits would survive the plague. Furthermore, Delsin is not transmuted into Neon energy be Fetch's attacks, despite her clearly trying to kill him in their fight, meaning his molecular structure is likely endurant enough to, if not resist, than at least slow down the assimilation process.

I argue this because both powers, while fairly different, share a fundamental simularity. Transmuting one type of matter into another. Heller absorbs and changes DNA down to the cellular level, but Fetch's neon powers would be effecting Delsin's molecular structure at a much more fundamental level, as would be required to transmute a target into neon particles. If Delsin can resist getting transmuted down to the atomic level, he should be able to handle getting transmuted down to the cellular.

The problem arises when you realize Delsin has no feats of resisting mind control. Meaning if Heller infects him with Blacklight, he could win by simply taking contol of his brain. But, that leads back to the above issue. Heller would need to infect him first and Delsin's conduit physiology likely won't let him.

However, Delsin has no counter to James's shapeshifting and disguises. Without Cole's radar sense, Delsin cannot identify Heller when he transforms into another person, giving James a viable ambush option.

However, Delsin's regeneration is superior to Cole's, as he can come back from being reduced to smoke. Without the option of assimilation, Heller will struggle to put Delsin down and will have no option but to eat away at his reserves. Sure, you can argue that Delsin may have to absorb elements from his surroundings to maintain that level of regeneration, but even in that case, Hellet would still have to eat away at his energy reserves overtime to outmatch his regeneration.

So, how does Heller fair against each of Delsin's power sets?

Concrete should be manageable. Concrete might be able to nullify a Conduit's powers, but Heller could just shapeshift to expel the shards from his body and stop that. Beyond that, Concrete doesn't offer much other thsn making Delsin tankier, and Heller can match that.

Smoke's slippery, but manageable. It'll be hard to get his hands on Delsin when he can turn into smoke and the collateral damage from their fight would give Delsin plenty of ammo to work with, but Heller can match its gliding and the smoke grenades likely won't effect him much, as he can change his vision to see through them and armor would keep the smoke from choking him.

Video and neon are where this gets tough. Heller has no answer to anti-gravity, invisibility, or time stop, any one of which could give Delsin the opening he needs to end the fight. Doubly so since these powers would allow Delsin to transmute Heller into Neon particles or data, bypassing his regeneration all together. Given my basis for Delsin resisting assimilation, Heller wouldn't be able to survive this. Atoms are a more fundamental level of matter and Heller's never tanked anything on that level, including Alex's assimilation powers.

If you don't believe that Delsin can resist assimilation, however, than this becomes a figjt where both can one shot each other with feasibly any attack and neither can counter the stealth options the other would use to get that opportunity. In which case, I favor Delsin's range and wide area of effect attacks getting the fatal blow on Heller first. Heller's a smart, relentless, and deadly bioweapon who outpaces Delsin massively in skill, experience, and hand to hand combat, but Delsin is like nothing he's ever seen before. Any attempt to tank, block, and regenerate from a seemingly innocuous neon bolt or digital shot would reduce Heller to particles before he could reliably get close enough to absorb Delsin. And he's left helpless by an anti-gravity grenade or time stop... welp, goodbye angry virus boy.
