May I be so bold to ask for a fic?
PLATONIC Modern day reader gets sent back in time/ universe to the avengers.
Life is going as expected now that they have taken her in, yes even though she’s 21 in a Time were she supposed to be 10 years old is weird, you get used to it.
Imagine though it’s the middle of the battle of New York, all of a sudden JARVIS says you appear to be having a panic attack based on your vitals, and he cant see you due to the cameras on the floor being down.
Now everyone thinks this is a Tony kind of panic attack, so imagine the surprise when they see reader flying down in a half put together Ironman suit (boots chest gloves and helmet) swinging a metal baseball bat at some aliens with thunderstruck playing in the back.
Tony- “that’s my girl!!!”
Bonus if Tony from the future (when they all went back in time) sees the reader and just cry’s a little bit an still cheering goes “that’s my little girl”
I never see fics with people that are used to getting random panic attacks and are pretty good at handling it.

You know something is wrong the moment you open your eyes.
You’re lying on your back, staring at an unfamiliar ceiling, one that’s definitely not yours. Gone are the grey metal slabs and dusty air filters of the Avengers compound. In their place is something sleek, futuristic even, a ceiling lined with recessed lights and small silver vents, like it’s from a science fiction movie. The air smells new—no, it smells like money. It’s a rich, clean scent, faintly mixed with the lingering aroma of coffee and a trace of cologne.
You sit up, groggy, disoriented, the faint ache of too many sleepless nights reminding you that, yes, everything that happened—the Snap, the losses, the grief—all of that was real.
Or… was it?
No. You refuse to entertain the thought that you might’ve dreamed up a whole nightmare. But something is definitely wrong, because the last thing you remember is… being in the lab. You and the others had been there, going over the latest quantum research to get everyone back. And then—nothing. Just a sudden, blinding light and then… this place.
Panic grips you as you swing your legs off the bed and take a look around. The room itself is lavish. Glass walls line one side, letting sunlight stream in with an almost blinding intensity. Beyond the glass, you can make out the towering skyline of New York City in the daylight. Which, given the circumstances, feels strange enough—when’s the last time you saw anything but darkness or emergency lights back at the compound?
Trying to gather your thoughts, you push yourself to your feet, glancing down at your clothing. You’re dressed… strangely. Not in the clothes you put on yesterday, but a loose-fitting T-shirt and a pair of plaid pajama pants that don’t belong to you. You reach up, patting your hair, finding it slightly mussed, like you just woke up from a long, unplanned nap.
Your pulse quickens. Nothing about this makes sense.
A soft click behind you sends you whirling around, only to see the glass door to the room slide open. In strides Tony Stark—unmistakable with his confident swagger, his trademark Iron Man T-shirt, and a curious gleam in his eye. But it’s not the Tony Stark you’ve come to know in these last few years of grief and recovery, the one who’d been almost completely worn down by the fight to fix the world. No—this Tony looks younger, brighter, with sharper edges and that familiar arrogant smirk that makes your breath hitch.
He stops in the doorway, arms crossed over his chest as he gives you an appraising look. “So,” he says, drawing out the word, “you gonna explain why you were taking an unscheduled nap in one of my guest rooms?”
There’s no warmth, no familiarity in his tone. And why would there be? You realize, heart pounding, that this isn’t just any Tony Stark. This is 2012 Tony Stark.
You swallow, trying to keep the panic from spilling over. This is impossible. You’d read up on every theory, every bizarre scenario Doctor Strange and Bruce had briefed you on, but none of them involved anything like this.
“I… I think there’s been a mistake,” you manage to stammer, knowing just how lame it sounds, and yet not knowing what else to say.
“A mistake?” Tony raises an eyebrow, stepping fully into the room, hands on his hips. “Right. A mistake. So, just to clarify, you, a complete stranger, just happened to show up in my guest room, dressed in pajamas I definitely didn’t provide, as part of some cosmic mistake?”
You nod slowly, your throat dry as you search for words. “Yes,” you say quietly. “I mean, no. I mean… I don’t know.” You close your eyes, willing your brain to function. “The last thing I remember, I was in the Avengers compound, in 2023.”
“2023?” he repeats, his eyebrows shooting up. “Okay, so now we’re time traveling. Makes total sense.” His tone is dripping with sarcasm, but his eyes are sharper than ever, scrutinizing every detail of you. “All right, let’s go with that. What’s your name, Miss 2023?”
You blink, feeling your cheeks warm under his gaze. You hadn’t expected the encounter to go this way—hadn’t even expected to have an encounter like this at all. “(Y/N),” you say finally. “My name is (Y/N).”
He gives a thoughtful nod. “Nice to meet you, (Y/N) from the future. I’m Tony Stark, but you already knew that.” He pauses, giving you a look that’s equal parts amused and wary. “So, mind telling me how you got here?”
“That’s… the thing,” you say, trying to keep your voice steady. “I don’t know. I was working on some experiments with quantum mechanics, and there was this… flash of light, and then I was just here.” You glance around, realizing that it feels just as bizarre to you as it probably does to him. “And I didn’t… I mean, I didn’t think I’d end up here. Or end up… meeting you.”
The smirk fades from his face, replaced by something more guarded. “Quantum mechanics, huh?” He crosses his arms again, his expression growing serious. “Let’s pretend, just for fun, that what you’re saying is possible. That you somehow popped out of 2023, dodging all kinds of laws of physics, and ended up here. Which, by the way, happens to be 2012. Care to explain why?”
“I don’t know,” you admit, feeling more and more vulnerable with each word. “All I know is that something went wrong. The tech we were working with… it’s not fully stable yet. It could have triggered something, maybe even pulled me into some kind of anomaly.” You stop, trying to read his reaction, but he’s impossible to read, his face completely inscrutable.
“An anomaly,” he echoes, almost thoughtfully. For a second, his expression softens, like he’s trying to imagine what you’re describing, before he snaps back to his usual, unflappable self. “Well, (Y/N), welcome to the past. I’d offer you a drink, but something tells me you might not be in the mood.”
You exhale sharply, trying to resist the urge to pace. “This doesn’t make sense. I don’t belong here. This is years before… before everything. Before the Battle of New York, before the Avengers Initiative really took off.” You pause, your eyes widening. “Wait, you haven’t… You haven’t even gone through that yet?”
“Not sure how much of my life you think you know,” he says, quirking an eyebrow, “but yeah, the big alien invasion hasn’t exactly been penciled into my calendar yet.”
You swallow, feeling the weight of your situation settle even heavier around you. This isn’t just a strange turn of events. You’re in a different reality, back in the days when the Avengers barely knew each other. Tony hasn’t even faced Loki yet; the wounds from that invasion haven’t left their mark on him.
“Tony, I… I think I’ve gone back in time,” you murmur, your voice barely above a whisper.
“Congratulations,” he says with a humorless chuckle. “Now, that’s a party trick I’d actually like to know about.”
As he studies you, his gaze sharpens, like he’s considering what to do with you. But then his phone buzzes, and he glances down at the screen, momentarily distracted. It’s just enough for you to get your bearings.
Taking a deep breath, you try to focus, to think of what Doctor Strange would say, what he might suggest in a situation like this. He always had a contingency plan—always had a way of approaching the impossible with a methodical mind.
“So,” Tony says, tucking his phone away and turning his attention back to you. “I take it you’ve got a rough idea of what happens next in my life?”
Your hesitation must be clear, because he holds up a hand. “Don’t worry, I’m not asking for spoilers. Just… let’s say, hypothetically, I’m not as skeptical as I’m letting on.”
It’s clear he’s testing you, trying to see if you’ll slip up, if you’ll give away some hidden detail about the future. You can almost see the wheels turning behind those dark, piercing eyes, and you’re caught between two urges—to convince him of the truth and to protect him from it. How much can you tell him? How much should you tell him?
“I know enough,” you answer cautiously. “Enough to know that this could be dangerous. And that I need to get back. I don’t belong here.”
“Well,” he says, gesturing around the room, “you’re here now. And if you’re really from the future, then there’s a reason for that. If you’ve got even a single thread of an idea of how to reverse this little slip through time, I’d suggest you hold onto it, because as far as I know, I don’t have any quick fixes for ‘accidental time travel.’”
He’s right, of course. No matter how much you might wish it, there’s no easy answer. And for the first time, you realize that you’re truly, utterly out of your depth. You’re in 2012. The Tony Stark you know isn’t quite this Tony Stark, and the Avengers are far from the team they eventually become.
But as you meet Tony’s gaze, you can’t help but feel a strange, almost unexplainable reassurance. This is Tony Stark, after all. The same man who built a suit of armor in a cave, who can adapt to anything life throws his way. If anyone’s going to help you figure this out, it’s him.
“All right, then,” you say softly, a hint of determination in your voice. “Let’s figure this out.”
And just like that, Tony Stark—the 2012 version, at least—gives you a faint, approving smirk.
“Well, time traveler,” he says, almost affectionately, “welcome to the club.”
Absolutely! Let’s continue this and dig deeper into the tension and awe of meeting the Avengers in their early days. Here’s the next section for you:
It doesn’t take long for Tony to inform Nick Fury of your strange arrival, though you’re not sure if he’s calling it in as an “emergency” or just sheer curiosity. By the next morning, Tony’s guiding you down a hallway of Stark Tower toward a conference room, giving you little more than a reassuring nod and a devilish smirk as he leads the way.
"Just be yourself,” he says with mock encouragement. “They’re all a bit paranoid, but we’ll work with it.”
The thought of meeting them—the Avengers, as they were in 2012—stirs something inside you, both excitement and dread. It’s impossible not to feel overwhelmed at the prospect of facing the familiar faces you know from the world after the Snap, but now stripped of the experiences and battles that hardened them. You remind yourself not to expect too much, to remember they’re different versions of themselves here—strangers, almost. As you take a deep breath to steady yourself, you can already hear Fury’s voice from down the hall, smooth and commanding.
Tony holds the door open for you, a smirk lingering on his lips. “After you, time traveler.”
You step inside, and Nick Fury’s one good eye pins you with a look so intense you feel almost frozen in place. Dressed in his black trench coat, with his signature eyepatch, Fury’s gaze alone is enough to confirm that he’s as imposing as ever. Standing around the room, waiting with a mix of skepticism and curiosity, are the other original Avengers: Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner, and Clint Barton.
“Let’s get one thing straight,” Fury begins without preamble. “I don’t know who you are, where you came from, or what kind of science experiment brought you here. But Stark seems to think you’re worth our time, so I’ll give you a chance to explain yourself.”
Every gaze is trained on you, and suddenly, all the things you had been preparing to say feel like sand slipping through your fingers. You glance at Tony, who only offers you a shrug and a faintly amused smile. He’s enjoying this, clearly.
You clear your throat. “My name is (Y/N). And I’m… Well, I’m not exactly from here. I’m from a different time. The year 2023, to be exact.”
There’s a palpable tension in the room as you speak, each Avenger processing your words in their own way. You can feel Steve Rogers watching you, eyes sharp and calculating as he assesses you, while Natasha leans back in her chair, a faint smirk playing on her lips, more curious than suspicious.
Bruce steps forward cautiously. “You’re from the future?”
You nod slowly, feeling the weight of their disbelief. “It wasn’t intentional, believe me. I was working on a project with… well, with Tony and some of the others. Something must have gone wrong, because the next thing I knew, I was here.”
“Time travel,” Clint scoffs, crossing his arms as he narrows his eyes at you. “Sounds like something out of a bad sci-fi movie.”
“It does,” you agree. “Believe me, this isn’t exactly how I wanted to start my week either.”
Fury’s brow furrows as he studies you intently. “If what you’re saying is true, you know things about the future. Events. People.”
There’s a pause. You know the answer he’s looking for, and you’re prepared to give it. But the thought of revealing too much, of saying the wrong thing… You don’t know what kind of impact it could have, and even in 2023, people warned against messing with the timeline. Doctor Strange had made it clear that even the smallest shifts could ripple outwards in unpredictable ways.
“I… I can’t say too much,” you admit, feeling the weight of everyone’s scrutiny. “I know things, yes, but if I start talking about specifics, I don’t know what kind of consequences that might have. I don’t want to risk changing anything important.”
Natasha raises an eyebrow, arms folded, her expression skeptical. “So you’re from the future, you can’t tell us anything about it, and we’re supposed to just… believe you?”
Tony, watching the exchange with keen interest, cuts in, “Hey, I’m the skeptic in the room here, and even I think there’s something to this. She knows about things she shouldn’t. Things no one outside of SHIELD should even have access to.”
Fury nods, turning back to you. “So why don’t you give us something harmless? Something to prove you’re telling the truth that won’t mess with the timeline.”
You pause, your mind racing. There’s one thing that comes to mind—a detail that should be inconsequential enough, but that would be enough to convince them of your legitimacy.
“All right,” you say slowly, looking at Fury. “You have a hidden eye scanner behind the painting in your office that only recognizes you, Maria Hill, and Director Pierce.”
Fury’s face hardens, a flicker of surprise passing over his expression. For the first time, he seems truly convinced. “How do you know that?”
“Because I’ve seen it,” you say quietly. “I’ve been in your office more times than I can count.”
Silence settles over the room as they process this revelation. Natasha exchanges a glance with Clint, while Bruce looks at you with newfound curiosity, the scientist in him piqued.
Steve steps forward, his voice softer, more open than the others. “If you’re from the future, then… that means you know what’s coming. Are we in danger?”
It’s a loaded question, one that instantly makes your throat tighten. The instinct to tell him everything—the invasion, the battles, the losses—is overwhelming. But you’ve been trained for situations like this, for protecting information even if it’s difficult.
“Yes,” you say carefully, meeting his gaze. “But you’re strong enough to face it. All of you.”
Steve nods, his jaw set, seeming satisfied with your answer even if it’s not as detailed as he might like. There’s a resilience in him, even at this early stage, that feels like a warm thread connecting this version of Steve to the man you know from the future.
Fury, however, doesn’t seem quite as content. He steps closer, crossing his arms as he looks you over. “I hope you understand the situation you’re in, Miss…?”
“(Y/N),” you repeat, your tone respectful but firm. “And yes, I do.”
“Good. Because as long as you’re here, you’re going to be under SHIELD’s supervision. You’re a risk, whether you mean to be or not.”
“Understood.”
“Then we’ll get you set up with temporary accommodations,” he says, his tone all business. He nods to the group. “Everyone, I want you to keep an eye on our visitor. See what you can learn. And if she can help, even better.”
The meeting disperses, the Avengers filing out one by one. You can feel their eyes on you, some friendly, others more reserved. Bruce, though cautious, gives you a faint nod before leaving. Steve, always the gentleman, offers a polite smile, though you can see the curiosity and concern in his gaze. Natasha and Clint exchange a look before walking out, their silent communication something you recognize instantly; you’ve seen them do this a thousand times in the future.
As the last of them leave, Tony’s still lingering by the door, leaning casually against the frame, arms crossed as he watches you with a mixture of intrigue and something else—an awareness, maybe, that he knows more about you than the others.
When the room finally empties, you let out a long breath, shoulders slumping as the tension eases. Tony steps back inside, glancing around before giving you a lopsided grin. “Well, you survived your first interrogation. Not bad for a time traveler.”
You manage a weak smile. “It could’ve gone worse, I guess.”
“Could’ve gone a lot worse,” he agrees. “For what it’s worth, you did pretty well back there. Kept things vague enough to avoid causing a paradox or whatever, but gave them just enough to work with.”
You nod, biting back the urge to spill everything right then and there. The urge to confide in him—to tell him everything you know about the future, about how he changes, how he sacrifices so much—is almost unbearable. But the thought of how much damage you could cause keeps you silent.
Tony seems to sense the turmoil behind your eyes, because he rests a hand on your shoulder, the touch surprisingly grounding. “Look, I’m no expert in whatever quantum mechanics or time travel theory you’ve got going on, but I can tell when someone’s carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders.”
You glance up at him, startled by the gentleness in his voice. “I just… I don’t want to mess anything up,” you confess. “You all have so much ahead of you. So much you’re going to accomplish, and I don’t want to take that from you.”
He gives you a long, searching look, the cocky demeanor fading as he considers your words. “Then don’t. Just take it one day at a time. Hell, take it one minute at a time. You don’t have to carry the whole future on your shoulders, okay?”
There’s something about the way he says it that fills you with a small, fragile hope. You nod, finding strength in his words. For now, you’ll follow his advice—take it
slow, one minute at a time. Because the Avengers here in 2012 are still in their early days, still unscarred by the battles that lie ahead. And as long as you’re here, you’ll do everything in your power to protect that future without changing it.
Together, you and Tony leave the conference room, each step carrying you deeper into a past you know too well yet can’t afford to let yourself alter. It’s a delicate balancing act, but one thing is clear: with Tony by your side, you just might have a chance to figure this out.
Over the next few days, you start to settle in among the 2012 Avengers, trying to adjust to the surreal reality of getting to know them as strangers. They’re cautious, skeptical, yet undeniably intrigued by you and your claim to be from the future. You try to be as helpful as you can without tipping off the events that lie ahead, slowly building their trust by sharing bits of innocuous information—small things that don’t seem significant enough to impact the timeline but reveal just enough to confirm you’re telling the truth.
Steve is the first to approach you, polite but with his guard up, as he invites you to join him in the gym. You recognize the familiar tension in his shoulders as he goes through his training routine, movements precise and controlled.
“So,” he starts, without looking at you. “You seem to know quite a lot about us. Or, at least, about who we’ll become.” He catches the punching bag on its swing back, steadying it with a quick, efficient grip. “Care to share a few details?”
You think carefully, picking a memory you know won’t alter his future. “You and I fought together a lot, actually,” you say, smiling. “And it was an honor. You’re one of the best fighters I know.”
Steve raises an eyebrow, surprised, but there’s a small, shy smile tugging at his lips. “Coming from someone trained by Stark, that means something.”
“Actually,” you correct, a hint of laughter escaping, “you trained me, too. When I joined the team in the future, you helped me with my technique. You insisted on it.”
He seems pleased by this, nodding thoughtfully. “Guess that makes sense.” He pauses, looking down. “Good to know I’m still around in the future.”
The words catch you off guard, but you manage to keep your expression neutral. “Yeah. You’re… very important to all of us.”
He gives a small, appreciative nod, not pressing for more. Trust forms slowly between you two as he begins to open up, sharing some of his own hesitations about being part of the Avengers. It’s subtle, almost shy—the beginning of a mutual understanding that grows from small gestures and quiet support.
It’s Natasha who finds you next, joining you in the kitchen as you’re grabbing a snack. Clint follows soon after, leaning casually against the counter with an appraising look.
“So, future girl,” Clint says, popping a grape in his mouth. “Tell us something we don’t know.”
Natasha, sitting across from you, is more direct. “If you can’t tell us everything, then tell us one harmless thing about me and Clint. Something that won’t change anything.”
You think about it, wondering what would be safe to share. Then you recall something small, a tiny detail from the future that has no bearing on any grand event but makes you smile.
“All right. You two like to compete over who can pull off the crazier stunt in the field,” you say, grinning. “It’s… kind of legendary, actually.”
Clint chuckles, leaning back. “Legendary? You hear that, Nat? We’re legends.”
Natasha rolls her eyes, but there’s a faint hint of a smile on her lips. “Legendary, huh? So, who usually wins?”
You raise an eyebrow. “Oh, you do, of course.”
Clint throws his hands up, feigning outrage. “What? I’m pretty sure I would win that fight.”
Natasha’s expression doesn’t change, but you can see the amusement flickering in her eyes as she watches you. For the first time, there’s a hint of trust and warmth there, a softness that she usually keeps hidden. It’s a small moment, but one that feels like progress.
Bruce is one of the quieter members of the team, and for days he keeps his distance, observing you with a mix of curiosity and wariness. He’s naturally cautious, and you can tell he’s wrestling with a thousand questions.
It’s not until you’re alone in the lab, tinkering with some outdated equipment, that he finally approaches.
“I wanted to ask you something,” he begins, pushing his glasses up as he studies you. “In the future, do I… do I get a handle on things? On myself?”
You hesitate, knowing exactly what he means. In 2023, Bruce has indeed found balance, integrating his two selves into what he calls “Professor Hulk.” But you’re not sure if it’s wise to tell him something so significant. You decide to keep it vague, focusing on the reassurance he seems to need.
“You make peace with yourself, Bruce,” you say softly, offering him a warm smile. “You become… someone incredible. And the world is better for it.”
His shoulders relax, and he seems to breathe a little easier. “I’m glad to hear that. Sometimes it’s… hard to imagine things ever being different.”
“They will be,” you assure him, your voice filled with certainty. “Trust me.”
From that day on, Bruce seems more at ease around you, and he even starts inviting you to join him in the lab, talking to you about theories and experiments in ways that remind you of the future you left behind.
After a week of cautiously earning the team’s trust, Tony decides to host an impromptu “team bonding” night in his penthouse—a sort of welcome-to-the-past celebration for you. The others show up, mingling and relaxing, and as you watch them, the differences between these younger Avengers and the versions you know in the future become all the more apparent.
Steve still holds himself a little apart from the group, clearly unused to being surrounded by people who look to him for leadership. Natasha’s edges are sharper, her eyes always watchful, as if she’s waiting for the next mission. Clint is easygoing but guarded, wary of anyone outside his tight circle. Bruce is quieter, more reserved, his mind constantly turning over unspoken questions, while Tony… Tony is, in some ways, exactly the same, though his arrogance feels almost untested, his confidence still untempered by the battles that await him.
At some point in the evening, Clint challenges you to a game of darts, while Natasha observes from the side with her usual unshakable calm. Clint’s sharp eyes and steady hand give him the advantage, but you manage to keep up, hitting the bullseye once or twice.
“Not bad,” Clint says, grudgingly impressed. “Maybe you’re not all talk.”
“Oh, I’m definitely all talk,” you joke, smiling as Natasha chuckles softly beside you.
Steve and Bruce, seated across the room, are deep in conversation, and Tony—well, he’s regaling the group with his latest plans for Stark Tower, gesturing wildly as he describes his latest tech upgrade ideas.
Seeing them all together like this, young and full of potential, is a strange experience. It’s almost bittersweet, knowing what lies ahead for each of them and yet realizing they have no idea. You hold back the memories, keeping your face neutral, not wanting to give anything away.
But at some point, Steve catches your eye from across the room, and he gestures for you to join him. As you approach, he shifts uncomfortably, clearly thinking through something serious.
“You seem to know us… really well,” he says, his tone thoughtful. “But we hardly know anything about you.”
The others fall silent, turning their attention to you. The question isn’t exactly unexpected, but it catches you off guard nonetheless. What can you say to them that won’t give away too much, that won’t ruin the innocence they have here?
“Well,” you begin, choosing your words carefully, “I joined the Avengers because I wanted to help. You all inspired me. You made me feel like… like the world was worth saving.”
Steve seems touched by this, and you can see a faint sense of pride and surprise in his expression.
“It’s strange,” Bruce says, smiling faintly. “Thinking of ourselves as… inspirations.”
“You are,” you assure them. “All of you. I can’t say much, but… the Avengers become something big. You make a difference. And even when things get hard, you never give up. None of you.”
Tony raises his glass, flashing you that familiar, playful grin. “Here’s to being legendary, then,” he declares, and the others lift their glasses in a quiet toast.
As they take their sips, you feel the weight of your secret settle back on your shoulders. You know you’ll need to leave someday, that the version of you who fought beside the Avengers in 2023 belongs to a different time. But for now, here in this moment, you let yourself believe that maybe, just maybe, you can make things a little better.
Trust builds gradually, each Avenger letting you in a little more each day. Clint eventually invites you to join him and Natasha for target practice, jokingly betting on whether you can keep up. Bruce starts consulting you on his experiments, asking for your advice with a respect you never thought possible from the reticent scientist. Steve includes you in his training routines, guiding you with gentle patience, his easy confidence growing every day. And Tony—well, Tony becomes a constant companion, checking in on you, teasing you, always eager to draw out your knowledge of the future without pushing too far.
The team is becoming something more than just an assignment or a mission. They’re becoming your friends.
One day, when the group gathers in the common room, Steve suggests sparring matches as a team-bonding exercise. Clint and Natasha go first, their movements sharp and perfectly
in sync, and the others watch, laughing and cheering as the pair battle it out. As you join in the fun, you catch Tony’s eye, and he gives you an approving nod.
Thor arrives with all the grandeur you remember: the flash of lightning, the distant rumble of thunder, and his booming voice filling Stark Tower as he greets the team. The others seem mostly unfazed, having grown accustomed to their Asgardian ally’s dramatic entrances, but you can’t help the flood of memories that come rushing back. Here he is—the same Thor you know from 2023, yet younger, less tempered by the losses and battles he’ll face. The unshakeable pride, the wide-eyed enthusiasm for Midgard—it’s all there, untouched by the trials that lie ahead.
He strides into the room, his golden armor gleaming, the red cape flaring behind him, and, of course, Mjolnir in his grip. Thor’s blue eyes twinkle with mischief and curiosity as they land on you, and his deep voice carries an unmistakable warmth.
“And who might you be?” he booms, glancing at Tony and raising an eyebrow.
“This,” Tony says, stepping forward with a half-smile, “is our new resident time traveler. She’s from the future, knows a few things, but she’s under strict instructions not to mess with any timelines.”
You manage a smile, offering Thor a small wave. “Hi, Thor. It’s… nice to see you.”
He steps closer, giving you a curious look. “You know me, then?”
“Oh, yes,” you say, trying not to give too much away. “I know you very well. You’re… quite the hero where I come from.”
He lets out a hearty laugh. “A hero, indeed! Well, I am glad to hear that even in the future, the people of Midgard recognize greatness!” His laugh echoes through the room, and he claps Tony on the shoulder. “And Stark, I trust you are as impressive in the future as you are now?”
“Oh, I’m impressive,” Tony replies, flashing a grin, though you catch a flicker of discomfort in his eyes. You know Tony doesn’t like to talk about the future, especially when it comes to his own destiny.
It doesn’t take long for the team to settle back into their routines with Thor joining them, and that night, Tony and Thor chat quietly in the common area. Tony seems relaxed, yet there’s a quiet intensity to his gaze whenever he glances at you. You’ve noticed it more and more over the past few days—the way Tony’s curiosity has shifted into something more protective, like he’s trying to read between the lines of everything you say, preparing himself for the worst, even if he’s pretending not to.
Later, after most of the team has dispersed, Tony approaches you, hands in his pockets, his expression pensive.
“You know,” he says softly, “Thor’s arrival means that Loki isn’t far behind. The whole reason he comes to Earth right now is… well, because of the Tesseract.” He leans in, his voice low. “The Battle of New York, right? That’s coming up?”
You nod, feeling the familiar pang of helplessness. “Yeah. It’s… it’s coming soon.”
He watches you carefully, something searching in his gaze. “And you can’t say anything that would help us?”
The question hangs in the air, both of you understanding the weight of it. You swallow hard, shaking your head. “I can’t, Tony. I wish I could. But if I do, I risk changing everything that’s supposed to happen.”
Tony’s face is unreadable, but there’s a hint of frustration there, a simmering anger he’s clearly holding back. “So, what are you supposed to do then? Just… stand by and watch us walk into a war without warning?”
You feel his words like a punch to the gut. You hate this part—the helplessness, the burden of knowing exactly how things are going to unfold and being powerless to stop it. But you also know what’s at stake if you interfere.
“Yes,” you say, your voice barely a whisper. “I can’t change anything, Tony. Even if it hurts to stand by and watch, even if I wish I could do more.”
His expression softens slightly, and he steps closer. “I get it,” he says quietly. “And I know this whole ‘not changing the future’ thing is supposed to be important. But I’m telling you now, if you ever need to tell me something, I’ll listen. No questions, no judgment.”
You nod, managing a weak smile. “Thanks, Tony. That… that means a lot.”
He hesitates, then places a hand on your shoulder, a rare moment of gentleness that sends warmth through you. “Look, I don’t know who I am in the future, but here, now, I’m gonna do whatever it takes to keep us alive.” He drops his hand, giving you a small smirk. “That includes you, time traveler.”
You smile back, heart pounding. “I’ll do what I can to keep you safe too, Tony. Even if I can’t change things.”
The Night Before the Battle
As the days pass, tension begins to settle over the team. The warnings they’ve received from SHIELD, the unusual activity around the Tesseract—all of it points to something big on the horizon. You can feel the weight of the coming battle pressing down on you like a storm cloud, and while the others prepare, you feel like a ghost, wandering the Tower’s halls, struggling with the knowledge you carry.
That night, Tony finds you on the rooftop, staring out over the New York skyline. The city lights twinkle beneath the stars, oblivious to the danger that’s soon to come. Tony approaches quietly, his presence grounding.
“Thought I’d find you here,” he says, his tone light but his eyes serious. “You know, you spend a lot of time up here, brooding.”
You smile weakly. “It’s hard not to when… I know what’s coming.”
He leans against the railing beside you, crossing his arms. “I don’t blame you. But I’ll let you in on a secret,” he says, his voice softening. “Even though you can’t say anything, you’ve helped us. You’ve helped me. Just knowing you’re here… it gives me this weird feeling that we’re gonna make it through this.”
You swallow hard, feeling a lump form in your throat. “I wish I could do more. But… knowing you’re here, Tony—it helps me too. You’ve always found a way to keep everyone together, to find solutions, even when things seemed hopeless.”
He looks at you, surprise flickering across his face, followed by something softer. “You really believe that?”
“Yeah, I do,” you reply, voice steady. “More than you know.”
For a moment, the two of you stand there in silence, the distant hum of the city below filling the night air. Then, Tony turns to face you, a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
“Well, if this is our last night before everything goes sideways, I say we make it count.” He offers his hand. “Come on. Let’s go raid the stash of champagne in my suite. I may be a genius, but I’m also a pretty decent bartender.”
You laugh, taking his hand as he leads you inside. Together, you head up to his penthouse, and soon, you’re seated on his plush couch, sipping champagne and trading stories. He talks about his early years at Stark Industries, the crazy nights and the high-stakes projects, and you share some of the most lighthearted moments you’ve had with the team in the future—moments that won’t give anything away but capture the heart of what the Avengers are.
“Sounds like we’re not half-bad in the future,” Tony says, grinning as he refills your glass.
“You’re more than not half-bad,” you reply, laughing. “You’re legends.”
He shakes his head, looking down at his drink. “You know, I never thought I’d have a legacy. Not really. I figured I’d make a bunch of tech, sell it off, and that’d be it. But hearing you talk about the future… it’s weird, but for the first time, I kind of want to be there to see it.”
You reach out, placing a hand on his arm. “You’re going to do incredible things, Tony. You have no idea how much you’ll mean to all of us.”
He meets your gaze, his expression softening, and for a moment, there’s a quiet intensity between you—a feeling of connection that goes beyond time, beyond the secrets you’re forced to keep. You don’t have to tell him everything to let him know how much he matters, not just to the future, but to you.
“Guess I’ll have to stick around then,” he says, a hint of vulnerability creeping into his voice. “For you, and for… whoever I become.”
You smile, heart pounding, and you squeeze his arm gently. “I’m glad.”
In the quiet that follows, he reaches over, clinking his glass against yours. “To the future,” he says softly, his voice filled with a determination that’s almost heartbreaking.
You raise your glass, fighting the emotions rising in your chest. “To the future.”
The morning dawns heavy, and as the team gathers, the tension is palpable. You stand on the sidelines, watching each of them prepare, the reality of what’s about to happen pressing down on you. Tony catches your eye before he puts on the suit, his gaze steady and reassuring. He doesn’t have to say anything—you already know.
“See you on the other side,” he says, voice muffled by the suit’s mask as he flashes you a confident grin.
You watch him go, your heart aching with a strange mix of pride and fear. There’s no guarantee that things will unfold exactly as you remember, but for now, you have faith. The Avengers are ready. And so are you.
The dust of the battle hasn’t even settled, but after capturing Loki, the team allows themselves a small moment of relief. As the Avengers regroup, Thor stands guard over Loki with a mixture of grim satisfaction and frustration, while Natasha and Clint exchange relieved nods. Steve is already eyeing the damaged buildings, making plans for containment and crowd control.
Tony, however, is still pacing, his gaze flicking to the holographic interface in front of him. He watches JARVIS’s live feed, examining damage reports, crowd dispersal, and tracking the few remaining Chitauri soldiers scattered through the city.
That’s when JARVIS’s calm voice cuts through. “Sir, I must alert you that Y/N’s vitals are highly irregular. Her heart rate and breathing pattern suggest she may be experiencing a panic attack.”
Tony’s brow furrows, worry creeping onto his face. “Where is she?”
“She was last located on the floor directly below you, but the security cameras on that floor are currently offline due to structural damage. I’m unable to locate her visually.”
A pang of alarm runs through Tony, and it catches the attention of the rest of the team. Natasha and Steve share a concerned look, Clint straightens, and even Thor’s expression shifts from watchful to worried.
“A panic attack?” Clint asks, confused. “I thought panic attacks were Tony’s thing.”
“Hey!” Tony snaps, but it lacks his usual edge. There’s a flicker of anxiety in his expression, and he’s already reaching for his comm. “Y/N? Can you hear me? If you’re there, talk to me.”
Silence.
He feels a sinking dread building in his stomach, and he exchanges a glance with Steve, who nods, immediately stepping forward. “Tony, do you want backup?” Steve asks.
Tony shakes his head. “No, I’ll find her. Just… keep Loki locked down, all right? We don’t want him getting any ideas while we’re distracted.”
With that, Tony heads down a damaged stairwell, calling JARVIS’s name and reactivating every broken camera he can find. After what feels like an agonizingly long few seconds, he finally picks up a faint, distorted signal from one of the lower floors.
And then he hears it—a deep, mechanical thud that echoes through the empty floor below. He rushes down the last few steps and stops dead in his tracks when he reaches the corridor.
At the far end of the hall, there’s Y/N… only she’s barely recognizable. She’s suited up in what looks like Tony’s Iron Man armor, or rather, parts of the armor—a strange, improvised mix of boots, a chest plate, gauntlets, and a helmet. Her arms and legs are half-exposed in her torn battle gear, and in one hand, she’s gripping a metal baseball bat, the metal shining under the harsh emergency lights.
Tony takes a stunned step forward as Y/N raises the bat with all her might, swinging it into a remaining Chitauri soldier, sending it flying back with a satisfying crash. The alien hits the wall hard, but she doesn’t stop. There’s a ferocity in her movements that he’s never seen before—raw, desperate, and relentless. She stumbles forward, chest heaving, breath heavy and erratic over the helmet’s comm system as she swings again and again, knocking down every remaining Chitauri that crosses her path.
The rest of the team arrives behind Tony, and they all freeze at the sight. Steve’s eyes widen, Clint’s mouth drops open, and Natasha raises an eyebrow, looking impressed.
“Is she… is she wearing your suit?” Steve finally asks, his tone equal parts confusion and awe.
Tony doesn’t answer, too busy staring. She’s moving erratically, swaying slightly, her movements sharper and more frantic than he’s ever seen from her. There’s no precision, no strategy—just sheer, brutal determination as she takes down the last of the Chitauri.
And then, as the dust settles, her chest heaves as she drops the bat to the ground with a clang, her breathing audible even through the helmet. Tony steps forward slowly, cautious, not wanting to startle her.
“Y/N,” he calls softly, “you okay in there?”
For a moment, she doesn’t respond. The helmet dips, as if she’s looking down at herself in disbelief. When she finally speaks, her voice crackles through the helmet, shaky and breathless.
“Tony?”
“Yeah, it’s me,” he says, his voice softer than usual. “You wanna… you wanna take that thing off?”
The silence stretches, and then, with a trembling hand, she reaches up, disengaging the helmet. It slides off, revealing her face, pale and streaked with dirt and sweat. Her eyes are wide, glassy with fear, and there’s a tremor in her hand that she can’t quite control.
“I—I couldn’t find any of you,” she whispers, her voice catching. “And I just… I saw them down here, and I couldn’t—”
Tony steps closer, his expression softening. “Hey, hey. You did good. You took them out. You’re safe, okay?”
Her breaths come fast and shallow, and he realizes she’s still in the grip of panic, her body trembling in the remnants of adrenaline and fear. He reaches out, carefully placing a hand on her shoulder, grounding her. “Y/N, you’re okay now. Just breathe with me, all right?”
She nods, her breaths starting to slow, her eyes flicking up to meet his. There’s a vulnerability there, a rawness that cuts right through him. She looks like she’s holding back a flood of emotion, and his heart tightens.
One by one, the others approach, keeping a respectful distance but offering her reassuring nods. Steve steps forward, placing a steady hand on her other shoulder, his gaze warm and reassuring.
“We’re here,” he says, his voice steady. “You didn’t have to do this alone.”
The reassurance seems to break something inside her, and she lets out a shaky laugh, wiping at her face. “Guess I got a little carried away, huh?” she murmurs, trying to steady herself.
Tony raises an eyebrow, smirking slightly. “Just a little. Though I gotta say, you wear that suit well. Never thought I’d see you flying down here with a bat and half my armor.”
Her cheeks flush, and she lets out a self-conscious chuckle. “I just grabbed whatever was closest. I couldn’t… I didn’t want any of you to get hurt. I had to help somehow.”
Clint, watching with a mix of amazement and amusement, crosses his arms, grinning. “If I’d known you had this side in you, I’d have handed you a bat weeks ago.”
Natasha steps up beside Clint, nodding approvingly. “It takes guts to throw yourself into a fight like that. Especially alone.”
Y/N looks at each of them, her expression a mix of gratitude and embarrassment. She shakes her head, glancing back at Tony. “Guess I still have a few things to learn about… not panicking under pressure.”
Tony chuckles, but there’s a gentleness in his eyes as he meets her gaze. “Trust me,” he says, “you’re not the only one who freaks out when things get intense. I know it doesn’t feel like it, but you’re not alone here. And next time? You don’t have to handle it by yourself. Got it?”
She nods, a small, grateful smile tugging at her lips. “Got it.”
As the team disperses, Tony stays with her a moment longer, studying her carefully. “You know,” he says quietly, his tone softer than usual, “I can upgrade that baseball bat if you’re thinking of making this a regular thing.”
She laughs, a real, genuine laugh this time. “I’ll keep that in mind. But maybe I’ll leave the suits to you next time.”
“Fair enough,” he replies, grinning. He pauses, his expression turning thoughtful. “Hey… don’t feel bad about what happened, okay? You stepped up. You saved us a lot of trouble back there.”
There’s a flicker of hesitation, but she nods, a shy smile appearing. “Thanks, Tony. For… everything.”
He gives her shoulder a gentle squeeze, his gaze soft. “Anytime. Now let’s get you out of that armor before you short-circuit it.”
With a grateful smile, she follows him, feeling a weight lift from her shoulders. For the first time since arriving in this unfamiliar past, she feels a sense of belonging, knowing that these people—the Avengers, her friends—will always have her back, just as she has theirs.
Unbeknownst to you, or to the Avengers around you, just a few blocks away, a much older Tony Stark is crouched in the shadows with Steve Rogers and Bruce Banner, their eyes fixed on the commotion unfolding at Stark Tower. They’ve come to 2012 to retrieve the Tesseract—an essential part of their mission to save the future. Their objective is clear: get in, grab the Tesseract, and get out without causing any disruptions. But when Tony’s gaze catches sight of the familiar figure in half of his old suit, wielding a bat and going after stray Chitauri with a fierce determination, he freezes, completely taken off guard.
Steve glances at him. “What’s wrong, Stark?”
Tony’s eyes are glued to you, his expression softening as he watches you clobber a Chitauri, then brace yourself as the helmet’s targeting HUD helps you line up your next swing. “I… didn’t expect this,” he murmurs, voice filled with awe and something closer to pride than Steve has ever heard from him.
Bruce follows Tony’s gaze and frowns in confusion. “Wait—is that… Y/N? But that can’t be right. She wouldn’t be here. This isn’t even her timeline.”
“Oh, it’s her,” Tony whispers, his voice choked with both joy and heartbreak. He can’t help but let a small grin sneak onto his face, one that shows just how much he cares for you and just how proud he is. “That’s my little girl.”
Steve shifts uncomfortably, but there’s a softness in his gaze as he watches Tony’s face, lit up with admiration and bittersweet nostalgia. “Tony, you know the rules. We can’t interfere.”
“I know,” Tony says, the reality settling over him like a lead weight. “But look at her.” He nods toward you, a small, proud smile tugging at his lips. “She’s got guts. Always has. I knew she’d be a fighter.”
Steve watches you for a moment, then gives Tony a small, supportive nod. “She’s in good hands. You saw her out there—she’s fighting with the team, and you know this version of you will keep an eye on her.”
“I know,” Tony murmurs, his eyes never leaving you. For a moment, he loses himself in the scene—watching you alongside his younger self, surrounded by the team, all of you laughing and joking after the battle. He swallows hard, trying to keep his emotions in check. It’s like looking through a window into a different time, one where he could just stand there and watch over you, make sure you were safe.
The younger Tony steps forward in the armor, calling out a comment that makes you laugh, a real, bright laugh that reaches even the ears of the time-traveling Tony hidden in the shadows. He can see how his younger self leans forward, his eyes full of quiet care as he reassures you, and Tony’s heart swells with pride and longing.
“She’s tougher than I realized,” Bruce says with a small, approving smile, giving Tony a reassuring nudge. “She’ll be all right, Tony.”
“Yeah, yeah, she will,” Tony says, nodding to himself, though there’s a tightness in his voice that betrays the mix of joy and sorrow swirling inside him. He may not be able to approach you now, to tell you how proud he is, but he can watch you from the shadows just this once, a silent guardian, letting himself soak in the sight of you alive and well, even if it’s in a past that isn’t his.
He clears his throat, steeling himself, reminding himself of the mission. “All right, guys. Let’s get the Tesseract and get out of here,” he says, but his voice is softer, less biting than usual. “I’ll… I’ll be back soon, anyway. To the right timeline.”
As he and the others move to leave, Tony sneaks one last look over his shoulder. You’re taking a deep breath, looking around at your team with a smile that’s just a little shy, a little amazed, as if you’re still surprised that you belong here. His heart aches with pride, and his voice is barely a whisper as he says, “That’s my girl. Stay safe.”
With that, he turns and follows Steve and Bruce, his heart a little heavier but his soul a little lighter, knowing that, even if he can’t protect you directly, he’s left you in good hands: his own hands, in a way. It’s enough, for now.
I don't know if I'm really satisfied with this...I just hope that whoever requested it likes it!

Hello, can I request for your event? Mostly for the way you said angst was okay, can I request an angst one with "killing me softly" with Soundwave, pretty please?
Killing Me Softly - ES! Soundwave/GN!Human!Reader
Word count: 1,370
You adored music. Nothing carried your thoughts, your feelings, your raw and unique perspective on the human experience, quite like a song.
Imagine your surprise when one evening, on the graveyard janitor’s shift at G.H.O.S. T, your earbuds died but you were still hearing music. The Decepticon cell block was always eerily quiet, save for the low electrical hum of the energon force fields or the occasional snarl and snort. That night, you turned the corner down Block B, following the growing sound of music, and found the source:
A towering Decepticon warrior resting back against the far wall, painted in sleek grey, midnight blue, and striking cherry red. He sat with his legs bent, bobbing his helm with every beat that played from the speaker system embedded in his chassis. And even though he didn’t have a mouth or eyes to speak of, you could have sworn you saw something alight behind that visor.
A familiar kinship. A love of the rhythm and jive.
Hypnotized, you pad closer to the humming pink field. Your broom and dustpan laid forgotten against the wall, job abandoned in favor of the entracing draw. The mech doesn’t move when you approach, and if anything, he grows more still. You could feel his gaze on you, warm and electric, investigating you.
You felt transparent, like your body was see-through and his attention was tracing the lines of your very bones.
“Hey.” You try, reaching up and resting your weight against the smooth, cool metal side panel beside the controls. “Didn’t think you guys could get radio down here.”
The con says nothing, just cocks his helm at you. And then, with a click, the music stops and there’s dead silence. Perhaps you had offended him, you think. Perhaps you had stumbled across a prison break attempt and now the con before you was trying to make up a convincing lie.
There’s another click, and then a new song begins to play. You recognize it in an instant, same and same album. You listened to them routunely down here while you mopped the floors and dusted the vents.
“You… like hip hop, huh? Soul music?”
The con raises his head to get a better look at you, and finally, nods. Well, it was more like an ambivalent shrug. He sits up a little straighter, resting the back of his helm against the wall as the music plays, quietly tapping his pede to it.
“So you just have that whole album on shuffle?”
“It MUST be. That or he loves torturing my audials.” Another mech from the cellblock next door sneers.
“Affirmative.” It’s the first time you hear him speak, and his voice is deep but laid in static and synth. It wasn’t exactly unpleasant but you wondered if that was just a filter from his mask or if he really did sound like that. “Starscream: Not invited to conversation.”
“I’d hardly call it a conversation when you’re just staring at them, Soundwave.” Starscream huffs.
Soundwave… a fitting name, you think.
“If I knew you guys liked hip hop, I would have brought my mini speaker. My earbuds have been getting abused over these night shifts.”
To illustrate your point, you shake your little pack of buds with a notable tink-tink sound and then dump them out onto your palm. One of them was wholly broken and the other was clearly on its last legs, held together with a thin strip of clear tape. The con, Soundwave, perks up a bit. A light passes through his visor, like he’s scanning something.
“Soundwave: Requests device.”
“My earbuds? Uhhh…”
Soundwave stands up from the far side of the cell, and it’s then that you realize how much wholly bigger than you he really was. He nearly has to get down on all fours just to be somewhat level with you, but settles for sitting on one knee beside the console panel. Your gaze shifts to the panel, and the little delivery slot below the keypad.
The cells weren’t built with any way to shut down only part of the grid, so delivery slots were installed in the consoles to deliver things like energon rations through. Like normal prison cells.
“Why do you want them?”
“You mentioned a mini speaker. Earbuds are composed of similar components required to build one.”
It was sound logic, and you figured as a giant alien robot he’d probably be somewhat equipped to know how to do something like that. But the bigger question lingered.
“Why? Why do you want to do that? That desperate for other tunes?”
You briefly see Starscream’s disgruntled face lean into view up over one of Soundwave’s shoulders, only to puff and duck away like a putout peacock. Soundwave is, of course, stoic and stalwart in his explanation.
“Battle with Autobot Scum: Damaged recall banks. Soundwave: Cannot access most audio files.”
“‘Recall banks.’ So like, your memory?” You frown, you couldn’t imagine not being able to even remember some of your favorite songs.
“Affirmative.”
Mind made up, you pop the slot open and drop your damaged earbuds and case inside. As soon as you close it up, they dump out onto a flat tray on Soundwave’s side of the field for him to use. He picks the pieces up, scans them, examines them, and gets to work. He doesn’t seem to mind you watching him as he reassembles the pieces into new shape, twisting or tugging tiny tiny wires with tools that he has hidden away in his arms.
He plugs the very last wire in and pops together the two halves of the case. Once used to hold the earbuds, now it housed the speaker entirely. It was a little rough but it certainly looked like a speaker. Once it powers up, it hooks automatically to your phone and starts to play the last song you’d listened to, blasting it at impressive volume. Loud enough you actually flinch.
“That’s incredible! How did you…” You turn to look up at his face, stopping your question before it even fully forms, “Right, dumb question.”
This time Soundwave drops the speaker into the slot and closes it. You retrieve your little gift, enamored with this ultra powerful micro speaker already. You look it over, flick through your playlists, only briefly mourning your earbuds.
“Thank you, Soundwave.”
“You are welcome. Request: Play something besides hip hop.”
“FINALLY.” Starscream whines.
“Request change: Play hip hop louder.”
You can’t help but giggle a little, and you decided to compromise. “I’ll play a mix of stuff from now on. And if you remember anything you like, you can tell me and I’ll look it up next time. Ya know, to thank you.”
Soundwave stares at you a moment, helm cocking to the side before he gives you a minute nod. “Conditions: Acceptable.”
Content, you head back to work and put on a mixed playlist of various things. Back with Soundwave and Starscream though, the Seeker has more than a few questions. Questions, of course, filed down into barbs and wit rather than actual polite queries.
“Not happy with your little gaggle of minicons anymore? Felt the need to try and adopt a human into the fold?”
“Negative. Befriending human is simple strategy.”
Soundwave leans back away from the front field, giving himself enough distance to open his cassette dock and let Ravage out. Immediately the Minicon cat curls up around his shoulders, carrying in her intake a ball of wires that she finds herself content to bat around and mangle.
“...They didn’t check to see if you used all the pieces.” Starscream remarks, icy blue optics widening in realization. “A small favor here breeds gratitude.”
“Gratitude breeds security. Security breeds sloppiness.”
“I was wondering why you lied about some so-called ‘recall banks.’ Thought yourself clever for that one, huh? Making up words to trick a stupid little organic that wouldn’t know better?”
“Soundwave: Does not think clever. Soundwave: Is clever.”
“Tch.” The seeker rolls his optics, turning his back on the other con with a puff and flourish. As if he had anywhere else to go in his cell besides pacing back and forth. “Very well. You have my permission to continue your insidious work.”
Soundwave simply stares at the back of the seeker’s helm. As if he needed permission.

Two Weeks of Whump—Day Seven
Cyanide // False Imprisonment // Blindfold
Masterlist
Heyyy this is really short and awful sorry, I didn’t really know what to do for it and usually I’m able to just keep writing something but that was not the case for this. I know I’ve said this a hundred times in the past few days but Noah is the only thing I can write easily now. I don’t have to fight for the words like with this, they just come. But hey, halfway through!
Cw: kidnapping, corrupt authority, restraints, bruises, false imprisonment
“Please!” Civilian screamed, throwing their entire weight against the door. Banging on the steel with their bound hands, ramming their shoulder into the metal. “Please! I don’t know what you’re talking about! I don’t know Villain! Please!”
The door was sealed with an airlock, they could figure that much out on their own. The sleek slab lacking any sort of handle. Impossible to open from the inside. Only by a small keypad outside to the left of the door that they had noticed while being dragged in.
“Please!” Civilian cried again, but they were met with nothing but the hum of the vent, a steady stream air being emptied into the small room.
Cell, Civilian thought bitterly, craning their neck so they could wipe their eyes on their shoulder sleeve. The calm beige walls and faux wooden floor did nothing to conceal that.
A nice cell but a cell nonetheless. A cot in the corner, sitting a few feet off the ground with soft looking linens. A nightstand with a lamp fixed to the wall above it. A little bathroom area separated by a half wall. Warm lighting.
None of that distracted from the cameras fixed in opposite corners, or the walls bare of any windows. A cage, wrapped in drywall and false comforts.
Civilian slammed their forearms against the door again with a final yell, which only sent the cuffs biting into their skin as they slammed against the metal. Ugly bruises were already beginning to bloom beneath their skin, deep patches of red already beginning to settle into a dark purple. Expectedly, the metal slate didn’t budge.
Frustration swelled in their chest like fire, a heat that threatened to devour anything in its path. Their eyes stung, tears they couldn’t fight back slipping down their cheeks. The room blurred around them, clearing with each blink only for more to well.
Most of the fear had settled, deflating into anger. Hot, unsteady anger that churned in their stomach as they turned away from the unmoving door.
How many times had they told them? How many times had they begged and pleaded for those heroes to listen? They didn’t know Villain. No amount of time chained to an interrogation room table or locked in a cell would make them admit the affiliation that didn’t fucking exist. Why wouldn’t they fucking listen?!
Civilian’s muscles twitched, yanking their wrists against the short chain that bound them. Their skin crawled, tension building beneath the flesh with the need to get out. To move. Claustrophobia like spiders, burrowing and biting inside them, the awful, vivid imagery flashing before their eyes enough to make their stomach twist with nausea.
Exhaustion tugged at their limbs, but they couldn’t sit down. They couldn’t stop moving. Feeling that if they did, the crawling feeling inside of them would devour them whole. They didn’t even notice as their breath began to pick up, feet stumbling as they paced the small length of the room.
“Hero, please!” They croaked, voice wavering, hoarse from yelling. Yelling for hours, trying to get someone to listen to them. Yelling when Superhero had sat across from them at the metal table, spitting accusations and not hearing when Civilian would deny them. Yelling when they had been left alone in that room, wrists tethered to a bar on the table for hours. When they had been taken to the cell by emotionless escorts, whose grip bruised against their bicep and fingers dug into their skin. Yelling since the moment they had been taken into the Agency’s custody, torn off the street as they walked home after grabbing a coffee. A fucking coffee. They hadn’t taken two fucking sips.
Civilian raised their hands, digging the heels of their palms against their eyes as nothing but silence responded to their pleads, trying to soothe the desperation and the ache. The chains around their wrists clinked.
“Hero,” their voice broke quieter, knowing no one but themself was listening.

Prologue
Keith Kogane x Aley Kaelrin Veyra ( My Oc )
summary: Aley slipped into the facility, ready to steal the prototype weapon. Everything was going smoothly—until it wasn’t. Her heist was abruptly interrupted, not by security, but by a rescue mission.
The heist is going smoothly enough, at least by my standards. No alarms blaring, no guards doubling back and best of all, no unforeseen obstacles that would make me have to improvise. Everything's falling into place, and I'm starting to think that maybe, just maybe, I might get out of here without a hitch.
My watch vibrates lightly on my wrist. Five minutes and forty seconds. Not bad. Ahead of schedule. Personal best? No, but definitely close.
I can feel the familiar flutter of adrenaline in my chest as I slip through the ventilation shaft, barely making a sound, sliding along the walls like I've done a thousand times before. The only thing that matters is the weapon sitting in that shiny, glass-enclosed case, begging to be stolen.
I pause just before reaching the end of the vent, steadying my breath as my heart pounds in my chest. Patrols. I hear them approaching, slow and deliberate, each step echoing off the metal walls. They're not expecting trouble. They never do.
I stay perfectly still, every muscle tense as I focus on their muffled voices. The words drift in pieces, but it’s enough. They’re talking about an upcoming mission, no mention of security breaches, no hint of suspicion. Perfect. I'm not even on their radar.
I wait until their footsteps fade completely, the clink of their boots swallowed by the distance. Carefully, I slide the grate off the vent, lowering it to the floor before dropping down. My feet hit the ground with a barely audible thud.
I glance at my wrist. Four minutes and eighteen seconds. Perfect. I've got time. No need to rush.
My eyes flick onto the prototype weapon displayed behind the glass, its sleek frame glinting under the overhead lights. There it is, within arm’s reach. I move toward it without hesitation, closing the distance in a few quick steps, my boots making no sound against the polished floor.
With a flick of my wrist, a small, coin-sized device slides from the hidden compartment just beneath my sleeve. I press it firmly against the glass, feeling the slight give as it clicks into place. The device hums softly, a faint ripple spreading outward like a drop in still water. The glass around it begins to shimmer, then dissolves entirely.
A grin tugs at the corners of my lips. It’s nothing special, just a basic cube, really. Barely worth a second glance. But that’s not the point. It’s important, and that’s what matters. Importance means value, and I know this one’s worth a pretty penny. And that’s exactly why I’m here.
I reach in and grasp the weapon. It’s lighter than I expected, almost unnervingly so. Too easy.
I pause, letting my fingers trace the smooth surface of the cube. The purple light pulses faintly beneath my touch, casting a subtle glow. The design is simple, nothing flashy, and definitely not something I’d usually go for. But something about it grabs my attention. The clean lines, the quiet hum of energy, the way it fits perfectly in my hand. It’s nothing spectacular, yet there’s a precise kind of purpose to it. It feels… like it was meant for me to hold, at least for now.
I check my watch again. Three minutes and twenty-one seconds. Perfect. I’m still ahead of schedule. I’m going to get in and out so clean that even the guards won’t know anything’s missing until it’s too late.
I slip the weapon into my bag, making sure it’s snug and secure. My fingers linger for a moment, brushing over the smooth surface one last time before I let go. Turning to leave, I retrace my steps, eyes scanning for the vent. It’s a straight shot. I’ll be up there in no time.
A faint sound stops me in my tracks.
Footsteps.
Shit.
I freeze, every muscle tensing. I should have more time, this wasn’t supposed to happen yet. Their patrol wasn’t meant to loop back for another two minutes. The vent’s out of reach now. There’s no way I can slip out unnoticed.
Okay, think, think, think. My eyes dart around the room, scanning for any potential cover. My gaze lands on the desk beside me. It's not ideal, but I know i'm small enough to fit. Yeah, I can make it work.
I slide underneath the desk, my bag pressed tight against my chest, the cube secure against my body. My heart pounds in my ears as I pull my hood lower, tugging it over the visible parts my face.
The footsteps stop. They’re right outside. Too close.
The door hisses open with a sharp scrape, and I freeze, every muscle locking in place.
Well, this is definitely not going according to plan.
I push myself deeper into the desk, curling in on myself, trying to make myself smaller. I can’t see them, the desk blocking my view, but their voices reach me, low and urgent. Something about the King of Olkari, a rescue mission. Okay, not Galra soldiers, but damn, of course a rescue mission had to happen right now.
Silence falls. For a brief moment, the world outside the desk feels like it's standing still. Then, with a soft hiss, the door closes.
I close my eyes, exhaling slowly, allowing my tense body to relax just a fraction. Quieting my mind, to prepare for my next move, slipping back into the vent without making a sound.
My heart drops as I feel a warm hand wrap itself around my ankle, dragging me out from underneath the desk with a sudden, vicious yank. I barely suppress the scream that tries to claw its way up my throat.
"What—" I kick, flailing instinctively, my fingers clutching the weapon in my bag, holding it like it's my lifeline. I won't let go. I can't let go.
The moment I’m fully dragged out from under the desk, the grip on my ankle loosens, and I feel the hand release. I scramble to my feet, pushing myself upright in one smooth, fluid motion. Instinctively, I raise my hands in surrender, never breaking eye contact with Red.
“Who are you, and what are you doing here?” they demand, voice sharp.
“Who I am isn’t important. Who are you?” I counter, my tone even. The room falls silent as my eyes flick over the four men, red stands in front of me, while the others, blue, yellow, and black, form a defensive line behind him, all of them poised and alert.
The guy in blue raises an eyebrow, as if I've just asked the ridiculous question in the universe. "Well we are Voltron," he says, matter-of-factly, like it's common knowledge.
I let out a mock sigh, shaking my head. “Sorry to inform you, boys, but I don’t really care who you are,” I say, my tone flat. “Space heroes, rebels, whatever. You’re still standing in my way. From, rescuing the king?”
I hold their gazes, each one eyeing me with suspicion. I let my words hang in the air, hoping they’ll buy the bluff. Though, honestly, I’m not holding my breath.
“So here’s the deal,” I add, my voice unwavering. “You can either get out of my way willingly, or I’ll take you down with force. The king needs rescuing, and I’m not here to entertain any of your nonsense.”
They don’t move. Not even a flinch. Yeah, they’re not buying it.
Red crosses his arms, leveling a flat stare at me. “Uh-huh,” he says, his voice dripping with disbelief. “The king?”
The yellow one speaks up, “We’re trying to rescue him right now.”
I fight the urge to roll my eyes. “Oh, well, I should probably go then. Looks like you guys have this all figured out.”
The black one narrows his eyes. “What’s in the bag?”
I glance down at the bag and shrug, a sly smile forming. “You really shouldn’t worry about things that don’t concern you.”
The guys all glance at the big empty space where the cube used to be. Their eyes shift back to me, and it’s clear they’ve figured it out, I took something I shouldn’t have.
The black one narrows his eyes, suspicion creeping into his gaze, but before he can speak, Red steps forward.
“Hand it over,” Red says firmly, his voice commanding.
I raise an eyebrow, a smile stretching across my face. “Oh, really? You think you can tell me what to do? How cute.”
The red one takes a step forward, his arms crossed, his expression hardening. “Show your face,” he demands, his voice low but firm.
I tilt my head slightly, “No,” I reply with smooth defiance, teasing. “I don’t think I will.”
The blue one raises an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. “Why not?”
I smirk to myself. “Because if I take off my mask, you’re all going to think I’m too irresistible. I’m not sure your hearts can handle it.”
That gets a reaction. The blue one snorts, clearly amused, and even the yellow one grins, their guards lowering just a fraction.
“Oh, she’s got jokes,” Blue says, nudging the guy in black. “I’d like to test that theory, Miss Mysterious.”
“Lance,” the guy in black warns, but Lance waves him off with a carefree shrug.
Red, however, doesn’t seem amused, not even a little. His posture stiffens, and before I can react, he’s in motion, a blur of speed and precision.
I guess we’re doing this the hard way.
I barely dodge in time, throwing myself sideways as his punch lands where I was standing just a second ago. But in the process, his hand grazes the edge of my hood, and before I can even register it, it slips off completely. The cool air rushes over my exposed face. Okay, don’t panic, at least my mask still covers my nose and mouth, so you can’t really identify me.
“Fuck,” I mutter under my breath. I quickly run my fingers through the mess of curls, my mind racing. Didn’t expect that, but whatever. At least it’s not like they’ll get a good look at me. Eyes are one thing, but the rest of me? Still hidden.
Lance whistles low, his gaze lingering on me. “Well, I only see a part of you, but I’m telling you now, I can’t wait to see the rest,” he says with a smirk, clearly enjoying himself.
“Lance!” the guy in black snaps, but Lance just shrugs, unfazed, clearly getting a kick out of it.
Meanwhile, the red one doesn’t waste any time. His dark eyes narrow, sharpening with focus as he closes the distance between us again. His movements are quick, precise, and controlled, he’s good. Too good.
But I’m ready this time.
I twist, countering his next strike with a fluid motion, using my momentum to push back. My fingers tighten around the prototype in my bag, pulling it closer to my body, making sure it’s secure. “You really don’t want to do this, Red,” I warn.
Red doesn’t respond, his attacks coming faster, more aggressive. Every move he makes is clearly calculated, relentless. But honestly, at this point, I’m just dancing around him, slipping past every punch like it’s nothing more than a game. Well, It kinda is? I’m not trying to hurt him, just making him miss. I’m just buying myself some more time.
The others hesitate. Lance’s grin is still plastered on his face, clearly entertained by the whole thing. The guy in black stands off to the side, sizing up the situation with caution, his hand hovering near his weapon, weighing the risk of stepping in. He’s trying to figure out if I’m worth the trouble.
Another swing, another dodge. I can practically hear Red’s frustration building with every failed strike. I can’t help but tease him. “Is it always this hard to hit someone, or am I just that good?”
Red’s eyes flash with frustration, but he doesn’t slow down. I duck and twist, barely missing his fist. “Seriously, how long are you gonna keep trying? I’m starting to think you’re just aiming for the air.”
He grits his teeth, his movements coming quicker now, but still missing their mark. I grin. “Maybe I should give you some tips, deflecting air is an art form.”
I’m enjoying this, but I know I can’t keep dancing around him forever. The pressure is building. He’s getting faster, more precise, and I’m running out of space to dodge.
As Red charges at me again, his body coiled with fury, I stand my ground. I let him think he’s got me cornered. My stance is loose, baiting him. He doesn’t even see it coming.
I feign a strike, throwing a wild punch in his direction, just enough to make him believe I’m actually attacking. His eyes narrow, and with a growl, he barrels toward me, all force and speed.
The second he’s within range, I sidestep, a fluid, almost graceful movement that lets him rush past me with nothing but air. He doesn’t have time to react before his momentum sends him crashing straight into the wall, his shoulder slamming into the hard surface with a sickening thud.
“That’s gotta hurt,” I mutter under my breath, as I spring onto the desk with a burst of energy, feeling the burn in my legs as I push off. My fingers already reaching for the vent, it’s tight, but it’s the only shot I’ve got. My heart pounds as I dart toward the opening.
"Stop her!" Red yells, his voice angry.
Blue lifts his blaster, but the black one's voice cuts through."Don't shoot! We're already causing enough of a commotion! And she's not our priority!"
I hoist myself up, my body slipping into the narrow opening. It’s a tight squeeze, but there’s no time for hesitation.
My body scrapes against the cold metal, but I power through, each movement a calculated effort to move deeper into the vent. My mind focused on one thing: escape.
"Lucky me," I mutter, scrambling further into the vent. The space is tight, the cold metal scraping my elbows with every movement, but I push forward.
Red, Blue, Yellow, Black... Too slow. The thought makes me grin, despite the ache in my muscles.
I check my watch, one minute, five seconds. I scowl. That took two minutes. Two precious minutes.
The thought gnaws at me for a moment, but I push it away. There's no time for second-guessing. I need to focus.
The sound of boots clattering below me snaps me back to reality. The guards are closing in, right on time. Time to get out of here. And I really hope I never run into them again.

find the vibe tag
@starlit-hopes-and-dreams tagged me for this one - thank you! find their snippets here (but maybe find a pillow to scream into, first)
my vibe to find is "that numb feeling when you've all but given up but have no other choice except to press on" - and i know just the scene 😈 it's from draft 3 of Dead Roots, Dark Water, because of course it is
(gently) tagging @sleepyowlwrites, @kaiusvnoir, @serotoninshift, @daisywords, and @byjillianmaria (and you, if you want to play!) to find the vibe: the realization that things can't be the way they were before.
now, here's DRDW (it's a long one):
Cold air buffeted him, pinching his cheeks and stinging his eyes. It stole his breath like a bakhmare on his chest, bringing him to a stumbling halt.
Sleek, shiny walls surrounded him, punctuated by racks of servers and computer terminals. Colorful bundles of cables ran along the floor, mirrored by glass pipes along the ceiling. Luminescent dark liquid flowed through the pipes, casting a strange, undulating glow across the walls. Cold air blasted from vents in the ceiling, sharp and sanitized.
Daxter swallowed around his thick, dry tongue. Where were all the cells?
A thrill ran icy fingers down his neck and arms, leaving goosebumps in its wake.
He'd fucked up.
The thought draped over him, heavy and stifling. He'd made a wrong turn, gone the wrong way, left the prison section of the fortress entirely, fucked it all up the one time he couldn't, the one time there'd be no one to bail him out, no second chances because it was fifteen minutes from last shift change and the patrol would find him and they'd kick him out or lock him up and he'd never see—
His thoughts drifted and blurred along with the room. Daxter shuffled in place, reached for the floor through his boots, a thousand miles away. Everything was floating away, his body—
He was moving, pacing in circles around the room. He rubbed his arms, muttering. "Come back, come down. It's fine, it's fine, everything's—" He scrubbed at his eyes, tried to bring the world back into focus. His hands came away wet. "Fuck." He staggered over to the wall, pressed his back against it.
Hard lines of metal dug into the spaces between his ribs.
A gun. His gun.
That was good. That was solid.
He leaned into the angles, into the pressure. Breathe. He had to breathe. In through the nose, out through the mouth. In through the nose—
Liquid snot flooded his throat, coated the back of his tongue in a warm wash of salt. He gagged and sputtered, his mouth filling with saliva. Swallowing and sniffling, he sat back against the cold wall, arms around his knees. He couldn't do anything right. He couldn't even breathe right, not when it mattered. If Samos were here, he'd be going on about proper oxygenation or some shit while Daxter's body tried its level best to drown him in his own mucus.
"You don't have to be perfect," her voice whispered in the back of his mind. "You just have to try."
Try. He could try.
He sat there, breathing through his mouth — wrong, but trying — until the panicked clenching of his lungs slowed. The floor solidified beneath him, cold and hard and real.
The soft glow of the black liquid brushed over his face, his skin. He watched it flow through the pipe, chased the hints of light in the darkness.
He hadn't gone the wrong way. There was no other way to go, not if he was following the green dot. There'd been no chance to fuck up, not even for him. This room was just... different. That was all. One more bizarro room in a jumbo-sized puzzle block of the weird and not-so-fantastic. Yeah. That was all. If he just kept going, he'd be back to cell blocks in no time.
A sobbing laugh burbled from his throat. He was hoping to see prison cells. Gods, if he hadn't already known his life had gone to the abyss, that would have been the torch on the pyre...
He wiped at his face, cold and wet and sticky with snot, and retched. He unwound his scarf from around his neck and scrubbed at his eyes, nose, and mouth, tried to ignore the prickling feeling in his calves.
He stopped, pulse beating in his ears. How long had he been sitting there? If it had been long enough for his legs to fall asleep, the patrols would definitely have been back already, so why—
Needles pushing into his legs, he scrambled to his feet. He stared down the corridor, strained his ears towards... anything. Voices, footsteps. Anything.
The rattle of his own breath. The pulsing of his own blood. Nothing more.
He bit his lip. Salt lingered on his skin, prickled his tongue. His fingers twitched, nerves misfiring. He shoved his hands in his pockets to still them. If a patrol hadn't shown up already, they weren't coming. No patrol meant no prisoners... didn't it? But Jak was this way. He had to be. If he wasn't—
Daxter dug his nails into his palms, let the bite of pain wash over his brain. He shook the doubt from his head and marched onward. There would be more cells. He'd find Jak. He had to.

You are climbing, forever, down the walls of the pit.
You do not know why. You do not know what lies at the bottom. But you have been climbing since you were a little child, because you do not want them to catch you.
The walls of the pit vary. Sometimes they are coarse sandstone, that crumbles under your fingers, holding onto the strange fossils protruding from its bulk - trilobites and ammonites and dinosaurs and other, stranger things, long since forgotten. Sometimes they are cold iron, with lights and steaming vents and screens playing static, and you climb down rusting metal ladders or the sharp heads of bolts. Sometimes they are the inside of a mall, futuristic and sleek, displaying products that seem to change when you look back at them and fluttering televisions playing ads that you're sure can't be right, and you jump from floor to floor or take whirring escalators, never straying too far from that yawning vastness that leads farther down.
Your flashlight flickers sometimes. But it has not run out yet.
Your bare hands and feet are raw and bloody, and your arms and legs ache from climbing so far, for so long. You eat what you can scrounge, and when there is nothing you go hungry. It cannot be carried with you. You sleep in snatches, in little alcoves or on small platforms, jumping awake at the smallest noise.
For you never know when they will find you at last.
You do not know who they are. You have never seen them. But you know for certain they are right on your tail. You've met other people, sometimes, climbing, and they all agree that they're coming, climbing down after you faster than you could go unless you simply let yourself drop. They want to hurt you. They want to get you back. They want to take you back there and do horrible things to you. And the only way that you can escape them is by outrunning them, by staying ahead, by making it down first.
And so you climb, down dangling strands of slippery algae where fish peer from behind glass walls and starfish and sand fleas struggle in the slime around you; down cheery places with heavy, colorful plastic not-rocks that come off the fake stone in your hand, where distant music plays from somewhere and you can't shake the feeling that you're being watched and mocked; down a spiralling staircase clinging to the brick walls that never seems to be as sturdy as it should be, beneath the cruel gaze of tall, looming paintings staring down and judging you. They will never catch you. You swear it to yourself, again and again and again. They will never catch you.

Beyond the Eighth Wall: Unveiling the Potential of PVC False Ceilings
For many, interior design focuses on the “big picture” elements – furniture, wall colours, and flooring choices. But what about the oft-forgotten eighth wall – the ceiling? It turns out that this expansive surface holds immense potential for elevating both the aesthetics and functionality of your space. Enter PVC false ceilings, a revolutionary option that’s shaking up the design world. Let’s delve deeper and explore why PVC false ceilings deserve a prominent spot in your renovation plans.
A Budget-Friendly Transformation:
Extensive ceiling renovations can be a significant financial hurdle. Plaster and wood, traditional ceiling materials, often come with hefty price tags. PVC false ceilings offer a welcome respite, providing a cost-effective alternative. They are available in a wide array of styles and finishes, allowing you to achieve a high-end look without breaking the bank. Imagine replicating the warmth of wooden beams or the sleek sophistication of metallic finishes – all at a fraction of the cost. This makes PVC false ceilings a perfect choice for budget-conscious homeowners and business owners alike.
Durability You Can Trust:
Unlike traditional materials susceptible to cracking, warping, or moisture damage, PVC false ceilings are built to withstand the test of time. Their inherent resistance to moisture makes them ideal for high-humidity areas like kitchens and bathrooms. They also boast impressive termite and fire resistance, ensuring long-lasting beauty and safety in any room. This translates to peace of mind, knowing your ceiling won’t succumb to everyday wear and tear or unforeseen circumstances.
Effortless Maintenance – Beauty That Lasts:
Gone are the days of laborious scraping and repainting that come with traditional ceilings. PVC false ceilings are the epitome of low maintenance. Their smooth, non-porous surface repels dust and grime, requiring only a simple wipe-down to maintain their pristine look for years on end. This translates to significant savings on time and resources in the long run. Imagine a ceiling that retains its original charm without demanding constant upkeep – a dream come true for busy homeowners and commercial establishments alike.
Unleashing Design Versatility:
Far from being a one-size-fits-all solution, PVC false ceilings offer a plethora of design possibilities. They come in a vast array of styles, from classic white panels to wood finishes that mimic the warmth of natural materials. For a touch of modern flair, explore options with metallic finishes that add a touch of contemporary edge. Don’t stop there! These panels can be installed in a variety of patterns, allowing you to create unique and visually stunning effects. For an added touch of brilliance, consider options with integrated lighting that bathes the room in a soft, diffused glow. Translucent panels can also be incorporated to introduce a touch of natural light and create a sense of openness in rooms with limited windows.
Functionality Meets Flair:
The benefits of PVC false ceilings extend far beyond aesthetics. These innovative panels can effectively conceal electrical wiring and ventilation ducts, creating a clean and clutter-free look.
Imagine a seamless ceiling that eliminates unsightly wires and vents, contributing to a more polished and sophisticated overall aesthetic. Furthermore, PVC false ceilings offer excellent sound insulation properties. This makes them perfect for game rooms, home theatres, or even office spaces where noise control is a priority. With PVC false ceilings, you can create a haven of peace and quiet without compromising on style.
A Boon for Smaller Spaces:
If you’re grappling with low ceilings, fret no more! PVC false ceilings offer a clever solution for space optimization. Their slim profiles create the illusion of increased height, adding a touch of elegance without sacrificing valuable headroom. In smaller rooms, this can make a world of difference, fostering a sense of spaciousness and openness. This makes PVC false ceilings a perfect choice for apartments, studios, or any room where maximizing vertical space is a priority.
Beyond the aesthetics and functionality, PVC false ceilings offer several environmental benefits. Many manufacturers utilize recycled PVC materials in their production, making them an eco-conscious choice. Additionally, their low maintenance requirements translate to a reduction in cleaning chemicals and water usage, contributing to a more sustainable living environment.
In conclusion, PVC false ceilings are more than just a practical alternative; they are a gateway to a world of design possibilities. With their affordability, durability, and unmatched versatility, they offer a winning combination for both residential and commercial spaces. So, the next time you’re considering a ceiling revamp, don’t overlook the potential of PVC false ceilings. They might just be the missing piece that elevates your space to a whole new level, transforming it into a haven of style, functionality, and comfort.

Smart Design: Incorporating Technology for Convenience in Your Modern Kitchen
From sleek black cabinets and a monochrome palette to unique backsplash ideas, we’re seeing a variety of creative ways to modernize your kitchen. Whether you’re adding bold accents like purple stools or mixing metals with brass cabinet pulls, the right details will elevate your streamlined kitchen.
Wood brings a touch of warmth to a modern kitchen. Add a touch of this natural material through wooden floors, counters and even a trolley-style island for an urban feel.
Smart Appliances
Have you ever wished you could check your fridge’s contents while on the go, or pre-heat your oven from work so dinner is ready when you get home? With smart appliances, that wish can become a reality.
A variety of modern appliance brands are now offering smart technology. With a simple app or voice-activated features, you can control your refrigerator, preheat the oven, and more.
Many smart appliances can also evaluate their own performance and make suggestions for improving efficiencies. They can even help you stay on top of routine maintenance like cleaning your dryer vent or clearing the air filters. If you’re unsure which smart appliance is right for your modern kitchen design, talk to an associate at your local appliance store. They can help you find the perfect product for your unique lifestyle and budget. They can also tell you more about ENERGY STAR certified products that will help you save money on utility bills.
Smart Lighting
The right smart kitchen lighting ideas can make your day run smoother than ever. Imagine stepping into your kitchen each morning to be greeted with just the right level of light thanks to a pre-programmed timer, or enjoying the ambiance of a warm dinner party with the flick of a button on your phone.
When selecting your modern kitchen lighting, look for fixtures that are compatible with your home’s smart hub devices, allowing you to control them with apps like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, IFTTT and Apple HomeKit. Additionally, consider whether you want the ability to create and schedule scenes or use voice commands.
If you’re looking to add a design-led statement piece, consider something like the Nanoleaf Canvas Lights, which not only function as an impressive lighting fixture but also act as an artistic feature in their own right. This kind of fixture makes a real impact in any kitchen, transforming it into a living space for the entire household to enjoy.
Smart Storage
The kitchen is a workhorse of the home, often the hub for cooking, eating, working, learning and play. The kitchen requires special storage features for items like utensils, cookbooks, pots and pans and more.
When it comes to creating a clutter-free kitchen, smart space saving storage ideas are the way to go. Use drawer dividers to keep cutlery and utensils together, while giving pots and pans their own space. Stylish baskets are also a wonderful alternative to storing kitchen ware, adding accents and flair to modern kitchen design.
Incorporating smart storage in cabinetry and other kitchen designs allows homeowners to keep their countertops clear for easy food preparation and cleanup, and can help them locate items quickly when needed. With the right mix of technology, organization and lighting in cabinets and storage solutions, the possibilities are endless!
Smart Automation
As people start to realize the importance of home-cooked meals and following a healthy lifestyle, they are looking for ways to streamline their daily routine. One way they can do this is by integrating smart automation into their kitchens.
Smart appliances are able to monitor their own performance, which reduces maintenance costs and downtime. They are also able to alert operators when they are experiencing problems, which can help speed up the process of getting them repaired.
In addition, smart automation features can be monitored and controlled from anywhere, providing the convenience of managing various aspects of a kitchen without having to physically be there. If you’re interested in exploring the integration of smart technology into your modern kitchen, talk to a custom home builder or renovator about including these features in your next project. We can assist you with the design and construction of a luxury custom home that incorporates these advanced technologies. Contact us today to learn more.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do if I need a new kitchen?
It’s best to create a list listing your wishes and needs. This will allow you to communicate with potential kitchen remodelers or contractors.
Budget: How much should you budget for your new kitchen?
Size: What is your kitchen’s size? Do you need to expand your kitchen or reduce its size?
– Layout: What is the layout of your kitchen? Is it necessary to change the layout in your kitchen?
– Appliances: What appliances do you want in your new kitchen?
– Storage: How will you store all your food and supplies in your new kitchen?
– Style: What style of kitchen do you want? Traditional, contemporary, rustic, etc.
– Colors – What colors would you like to see in your new kitchen’s design?
You can now start planning your kitchen remodel after you’ve taken into account all these aspects.
What are some common pitfalls in a kitchen remodeling project?
A kitchen installed in an inappropriate location might not work.
It is possible for the dishwasher to be too far from the sink, which could lead to wet floors.
It can be difficult to open the fridge door if it is placed next to an oven.
Insufficient counter space can lead to problems.
Another common error is not having enough storage. Ensure you have enough cabinets and shelves for all kitchen gadgets and appliances.
You can’t choose the appliances you want until the very last moment when installing a new Kitchen.
They should be able to fit in the space and efficient on energy.
Not getting a professional to help with the design is a mistake. A professional can make sure everything fits into the space and is accurate to scale.
Doing too much is a common mistake when renovating a kitchen. Knowing your limits and when to call a professional is essential for a successful kitchen renovation.
A mistake is not planning enough. Kitchens can be expensive so make sure you have enough money to cover all costs.
Not having a clear idea of what you want is a mistake. You should know the style, layout, and finishes you want before starting the renovation.
These are just a few of the common mistakes people make when remodeling their kitchens. Avoid these common mistakes by consulting a professional before you begin your project. If you are careful about planning and execution, your kitchen renovation will be a success.
What are the qualities of an ideal cooking environment?
The ideal kitchen will have plenty of storage and be big enough for entertaining, cooking, cleaning, etc. A well-designed and designed kitchen will allow for easy access to natural light, ventilation, and other benefits.
When remodelling a kitchen, what should I pick first?
There is no single solution to this question, as everyone has different priorities. However, some things to consider include the room’s layout, the type of appliances you want, the style of cabinets and countertops you prefer, and any storage needs you have.
Once you’ve decided on your must-haves, you can look at different kitchen designs to see what options are available. It’s a good idea to start with big-ticket items such as appliances and cabinets and then add the details like paint colours or light fixtures if you have a tight budget.
Taking things one step at a time ensures your kitchen remodel precisely what you want it to be.

How To
Here are 8 steps to kitchen remodeling for beginners:
These steps are essential for a DFY project that is suitable for Beginners.
When remodeling your kitchen, there are three main steps. First, decide whether you want to do an entire renovation or replace appliances and fixtures. Second, decide what kind of kitchen design is best for you. Third, decide whether you want to do the job yourself or hire professionals.
The next step in the process is to decide on what kind of kitchen design you want. Do you prefer a traditional style kitchen with cabinets, countertops and appliances? Or perhaps you prefer modern designs with sleek lines and minimal storage space? Do you have an idea for a large island or a breakfast nook? You will also need to hire an experienced contractor to assist you with the installation after you have selected a layout, finish and material.
The kitchen is the heartbeat of every home. However, many homeowners feel overwhelmed at the number of decisions they must make before starting their project. There are easy ways for homeowners to get started.
Deciding whether to renovate or remodel – This is the first step in deciding if you want a complete kitchen renovation or to replace any of the fixtures or appliances. If you’re planning to gut the space and start from scratch, you’ll need to factor in the cost of demolition, new cabinets, countertops, appliances, flooring, and lighting.
You Need to Calculate Your Budget. This includes everything, including the cost of labor and materials as well as the budget you have available.
Choose Your Layout – Once you’ve determined how much you can spend, the next step is deciding where you would like to place your new kitchen. There are many layout options, including open-concept, peninsula, galley and corner. Each layout has pros and cons. It is crucial to find the one that meets your needs.
Selecting Your Materials – Once you have decided on the layout of your kitchen it’s now time to select the materials. This covers everything from cabinets and countertops, to flooring and lighting. There are many options, so it’s important to research the best materials for your needs.
Hire Professionals – Finally, once you’ve selected your materials, you’ll want to find a professional specializing in kitchen construction. Good contractors will make sure everything runs smoothly, from design to completion. They will provide support services to ensure that there are no problems.
Enjoy! You’ve reached the last stage of the kitchen renovation process. Enjoy! You won’t mind spending hours in your new kitchen cooking delicious meals if you love it. However, if you still have doubts about your kitchen’s design, it is worth taking the time to get acquainted with it. It will give you an idea of the value of your remodel.

CAR SANITIZATION- DOES MY CAR NEED IT?
Everyone likes to see their car looking spotless, but have you ever considered sanitizing it?. If that wasn’t on your bucket list then it is high time to switch your car washing routine and add some extra care to your car. How frequently do you clean your car? Whatever your response is, taking an extra care with your car is never a bad idea and driving a clean car is the great satisfaction when it comes to a car lover. Everyone is obsessed with cleaning the outer body of the car but the inner parts of the car also need to be sanitized well.
Even in your car, a clean, germ-free atmosphere is essential. To ensure that passengers have a clean, healthy, and enjoyable driving experience, your car’s inside must also be spotless. Most importantly, it is a necessity in the modern era for health and safety. But no one has the time to visit a car wash and wait too long there, right?, how about getting a full car wash at your doorstep with interior and exterior cleaning. GoKleen offers the best Car Wash Service at Home in Kochi to give your car a complete makeover before you head out the door.
Here are a few reasons for why your car needs to be sanitized.
To get rid of bacteria and viruses, your car should be thoroughly cleaned. They accumulate on the exterior and interior surfaces of the car before spreading to the occupants. Their spread can be stopped by disinfecting and cleaning the surfaces. Even though keeping the car clean should always be a top concern, it is particularly crucial during the cold and flu season or in the event of a pandemic. All types of germs, including flu and COVID-19 viruses, are easily spread by your hands and body. Cleaning your hands frequently is one way to keep your car germ-free.
You should regularly clean your windscreen, headlights, and mirrors since they can get dirty from the elements, other cars’ splashes, bird droppings, insect stings, and other things. You can see other drivers clearly if your windscreen and mirrors are clean, and other drivers will see you if your headlights are clean. So keep the shine is the major reason.
Keeping the freshness of your car is another reason. Driving a fresh car is a good feeling and in some cases your car freshness will loss by keeping food inside of your car and not using air fresheners, and not changing floor mats, not giving proper care of the seat covers, not taking extra things from your car and whatnot. While dirt and moisture are drawn in from the outside through the AC vents, bacteria and viruses can also flow through them. So that only clean air circulates within the car, the AC vents must be cleaned routinely.
Sanitizing a car involves more than just the interior. Paints, metal exterior, bottom, and interior hood sections can all be harmed by moisture, grime, and oil. So giving an extra care to the exterior of car is most important.
These are some of the main reasons you should add car sanitization to your bucket list.
While sanitizing your car you must follow some steps and tricks to get the best result. Before you start the car sanitization procedure, make sure your car is clean of dirt after that choose suitable disinfectant products, and select the tools and equipment for the sanitization, keep more attention to the touch points, and sanitize AC vents to eliminate airborne germs, viruses, and bacteria.

Once she had carefully opened the vent, the felinoid silently slipped out into the kitchen. It was quite massive with an all black marble floor and white walls. Which made sense considering the amount of armed guards and faculty that worked here. There were many metallic island tables, sinks .. Along with many dishes and utensils stacked in soapy dishwater in the sinks. It seemed the staff had already had their dinner not too long ago.
As she observed the space, Kitt perks up at the sound of the creature emerging from the vent, as well. Their body and claws made light bangs and scratchy noises as it finally slithered out completely. It wasn't until now that she finally sees the alien in all it's horrified glory. It was indeed bigger than what she had initially thought. Their sleek, dark, metallic-looking body and eyeless appearance were like nothing the felinoid had ever seen before. She could only give a mental sigh of relief that nothing violent transpired between them earlier. For it would have most likely ended badly for her.
When the creature began to stalk about, curiously inspecting their surroundings, the cat woman couldn't help but watch it with great intrigue. So, this beast was the sole reason for all the hullabaloo going on outside the grounds. Kitt's infiltration into the building was too well thought out and she was able to get the jewel without any hassle. It wasn't until she was already in the vents and on her way to freedom when the sirens began to blow. However, if this creature truly was a prisoner here, she wouldn't totally toss over any blame to it .. Plus, if that harsh number carved onto it's oblong head was any indication of the kind of treatment they were receiving .. There was no way she could fault the poor beast for wanting to escape.
Kitt continued to spy about the kitchens a bit more. However, her ears pricked up a bit at a sound from somewhere nearby. The creature seemed to have sensed something too as it made a couple of harsh, raspy snuffle sounds before lowering itself towards the floor. The felinoid did the same and went into a crouch, keeping quiet and keeping her ears open for anything else ... All the while, staring at the door nearby. There was a brief bit of tension before the creature began to proceed skulking about a few feet behind her.
The spaces around the island tables and other obstacles were easy enough for Kitt to navigate through .. Although the creature seemed to be having a rougher time of it. The beast was rather tall, possibly around seven feet when standing straight up. It's tail seemed to be of the same length, if not more. The felinoid looked around before standing up again slightly. She wanted to go over to the door to have a quick peek out into the hall before hearing another chuff from the alien behind her.
Turning her head back towards the creature, she blinked and raised her brow .. Unsure if it was trying to communicate with her or not.
"Look! .. It'll be alright! .. I'll just go to the door an' take a peek out just ta see where we can go from here" Kitt responded in a soft tone before crouching down again and swiftly went over to the door before pressing her back against it to listen again. Closing her eyes and making a deep sigh, she keeps herself calm as she tries to manage this very strange situation as best she could.
After a moment, the cat woman stands up to peek through the small round window on the door. There wasn't much to see, but she did spot a door just across the hall. Where that door lead to exactly, she had no clue.
Xeno on the Loose!
Six was a Xenomorph. Smart from the very beginning. Scientists tried everything they could to keep her smarts from destroying them, but that had ended very badly for the scientists. Six wasn’t something to mess with, and during that time, she had managed to snag a translator because she so badly wanted her thoughts to be heard, and it worked like a charm.
She did have to tinker and choose her voice, a voice she thought would sound good and would best express her thoughts but it worked perfectly. Now the smart Xeno not only could understand others, but they could understand her.
Now, after a while of getting used to the translator around her neck, she used it frequently and barely noticed it was there, and again she was slithering through the vents and small crevasses she could fit through, exploring her new territory. It was nice, but little did she know that she was not alone, and she hadn’t smelled or sensed the intruder yet.

Chapter 7
Content Warning, this is intended for people that are 18+ and this chapter includes graphic descriptions of blood, weapons, swearing, stalking & amputation.
Jessica’s POV
I had to end my live abruptly. My doctors came in and didn’t want them to hear my conversation. “We have some very good news, you’re going to be fitted with your new prosthetic leg today and will have a long PT session with your new leg. You’ll be going for a lot more walks and we’ll have you discharged by the end of the week”.
Thank god for insurance otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to get my new leg. I ended up getting fitted with a black carbon fibre suction leg. It’s lightweight and easy to put on. Plus, it looks very sleek and stylish. PT was awful. You would think that it would be easy to learn how to walk again but when you have a metal leg and no real moveable ankle, it made walking and climbing stairs hella difficult. But I was determined. I wanted to get out of this hospital and back to my life. The hospital updates and mini vlogs were boring people and quite frankly I don’t blame them. I can’t wait to get back to planning outfits and showing off my new leg.
Thankfully I didn’t have to wait too long. On Saturday morning I was discharged. The amount of painkillers and muscle relaxers I was given was astonishing. I honestly didn’t think I would ever need this many, but they will become a vital part in my new plan.
I decided to get a cab back to my house, there was no way I would have been able to get the bus. I didn’t care how much the fare was, I just wanted home. The cab driver must have been relieved when we arrived outside my home, I’ve never seen someone move so fast to help me out. Of course, I had to tell him my whole story and what happened, but he started it, he asked, not my fault I like to talk. I went to my mailbox and gathered the stack of bills and junk mail. Amongst the letters was a yellow envelope, a card. I shoved it all into my bag to deal with later. I stumbled up my front porch stairs and bent down to my welcome mat. “Phew, it’s still here. Thank god no one broke in” I thought as I picked up my spare key. I unlocked my front door and walked in. —————————————————————————
Walking into my house felt like sticking my face into a rotting carcass. The stench filled my nose and mouth, and lodged itself at the back of my throat. I gagged hard almost vomiting and overbalanced still unsteady on the prosthetic I had to lean on the door jamb to stay upright. A month with a locked up house with no windows opened really didn’t help. Plus, I left my stupid air conditioning on. I knew I had to deal with this, there was no way I could live with this smell.
Dropping my bags, I pulled the top of my t-shirt over my mouth and used the wall to do an awkward slide down to the floor without falling. I opened the grate and reached in to grab the now dried blood maul. Oh god it was horrible. Mould had grown on the towel and smelt disgusting. Trying my best not to throw up, I got myself up off of the floor and went over to my bin in my kitchen and dumped the evidence of my tragic accident. I went to my fridge and completely dumped the contents out as well. Tying up the bag, I stumbled as fast as I could to my trash can outside.
Although I was absolutely wrecked from that small task, I knew I had to clean the whole house. I started by putting essential oils in the air vents. Hoping that it should help with the stench. I opened my windows and got to work on my downstairs. By 6pm, everything was looking immaculate and smelling like bleach. At this point I had zero energy left. I grabbed my bag, flopped onto my couch, and took off my leg. Something I instantly regretted. My right leg or I guess now nub, was red and throbbing with pain. I grabbed my phone, snapping a pic of me on the couch and uploaded it to my stories, informing my followers that I was now home and very much exhausted.
I lay on the couch for a couple of hours mindlessly scrolling on Instagram until a loud rumble expelled from my tummy. “Ugh! I guess I gotta get up. Hmm really can’t be bothered cooking, looks like a takeout night for me”. I ordered my Chinese food and as I waited for it to arrive, I hobbled around the house closing the windows and curtains. “I should probably get changed out of these nasty clothes” I thought as I made my way to the dreaded stairs.
I went to bedroom and saw my beloved bun-bun on the bed. I picked up the brown stuffed bunny and gave her a tight squeeze, burying my face into her soft head. “Ugh, you stink bun-bun, What have you been getting up to whilst I was away, I’ll have to put you in the washing tomorrow but for now you’re coming with me, I need lots and lots of snuggles tonight”. I gave her a quick kiss and went to my closet to pick out some comfy clothes. I got dressed into some biker shorts and an oversized t-shirt. Of course, took the time to snap an #ootn pic for my IG story and grabbed bun-bun and headed downstairs.
As soon as my foot hit the last step there was a knock at the door and I opened it. “oh, thank god, foods here”. I thanked the delivery guy, took my food, and once again plopped on the couch. I turned on my tv and wrapped myself up in my fuzzy blanket. There really anything exciting to watch but I settled for a true crime documentary. Based on a true story, this young girl met up with a stranger online, he drugged and kidnapped her and kept her prisoner in his home. She was forced to be his at home wife and to have his kids. She only escaped after bashing in his head with a wok.
As I’m watching the documentary, I find myself making comments as the story is being told “oh well you’re such a silly woman, why would you do that, everyone knows to not trust anyone online, this is your own fault”. Engrossed in the documentary I didn’t notice the time. My leg was still killing me so I took two muscle relaxers, hoping that they will help me sleep tonight. I let out a big yawn and decided that it would be too much effort to go upstairs to bed. So, I lay my head down on my fluffy cushion, tugged my blanket up under my chin, snuggled bun-bun close to my chest and wished her a goodnight. —————————————————————————
I was wrenched out of a peaceful sleep by a loud crash. I lurched up thinking my blue bookcase had collapsed. I looked around for the pieces and saw nothing after a moment I realised I hadn't owned that bookcase in years. A moment later I realised the sound had come from outside the house. It sounded like something big fell over. Probably those darn trash pandas, they’ve been harassing the neighbourhood for a couple of months now. It’s trash day, what if…” I thought. But my thoughts were interrupted by the sound of something flopping down on my porch and the distinct voice of a man saying “shit”. At this point my heart is racing, there is someone on my porch, someone trying to break in. I see the shadow of the man peering into my window “can he see me? Oh my god what am I going to do? Think Jessica!” I grab my phone off my coffee table and call 911.
I quietly explained to the operator what happened, as soon as I ended the call, I remembered the trash can. “Shit, I gotta make sure the maul isn’t visible, can’t have the cops asking questions”. I put on my leg and with shaky hands unlocked and opened my front door. I looked out, coast was clear. Whoever was there was long gone. Or so I hoped. I picked up my trash can and as I was straightening up, I turned my head to the side, and something caught my eye. I noticed a car parked down the street. It’s headlights were on. “It’s no big deal” I repeated to myself panicky. I put the lid back on and looked again down the road. The headlights were off. My heart started to race, was this the person trying to break in. I didn’t want to find out. I half ran, half hopped back to my house, slammed the door and waited or the cops to arrive
A couple of minutes later there was a knock at my door. I asked who it was even though I was expecting the cops.
“Hello miss, you reported a break in?” said the police officer with a barely suppressed yawn
“Yes, well, technically he didn’t break in. I mean, someone was outside my door and swore”.
“Miss, did you hear him attempt to break in?”
“Um well no, but. He clearly was trying to. Why would he be outside my house”
“Maybe he thought it was his house”
“That’s stupid, surely someone would know what their house looked like”.
“It is dark miss, maybe he was staying at your neighbours and got mixed up”.
“Maybe but there was a car parked outside and it’s headlights was on and then they turned them off suddenly when I looked. I don’t know, that seems like some horror movie shit”.
“Miss, do you know how ridiculous that sounds? Maybe they were coming home from working the night shift. Listen, was there actually someone breaking in?”
“No, I guess not”
“Well then, I guess you’re fine. It was probably a misunderstanding. Goodnight miss”
“Goodnight” I said as I closed the door. “Stupid fucking police. I know what I heard. Someone was trying to get in. Clearly, they don’t give a fuck” I thought.
I went over to the coffee table to check my phone. “Ugh it’s 4am, well I guess I’m not going back to sleep. Might as well get ready for the day” I thought and sighed heavily. Once again, I headed up the dreaded stairs I was too tired and in too much pain, I gave in and crawled up them like a kid on my hands and knees, only standing up again when I made it to the bathroom. A long hot shower is exactly what I needed. I sat under the spray of water, washing tonight’s event and all my lies down the drain. “Today is the start of my new and improved life, today is going to be amazing, today only good things will happen”.
