I agree that high school is only a one-time experience. That’s why we don’t have to put up with a group of people who play their music so loud that it annoys other clubs, a group of people who use the school Wi-Fi to watch TV series 8 times, and a group of people who nearly burn the school down with a BBQ pork griller 4 times. It’s 3 times, actually.

bucky's first mandated therapist was in fact dr. raynor. her assignment to him was seen as appropriate given her own military history, but, as we know, she and bucky doesn't exactly see eye-to-eye all the time on how he should be treated. not that bucky knew what his treatment should even be — he wasn't exactly completely open to the idea of therapy at the beginning. eventually, raynor herself recognized this and submitted for reassignment to find bucky more fitting psychological help from a different therapist (though still pardon-mandated).

The biggest bug up my ass about people complaining about people relying on government assistance and government programs is wtf is the government meant to be for if not to take care of its people? If it's not meant to protect AND provide? Wtf even is the point of assistance and programs if you're going to demonize anyone who needs help for asking and getting the help they need? That's fucking stupid. Who demonizes caring for other people? Those who are cared for can care for others. That's the point of a society isn't it? Help those you can help, and recieve help back in return? What twisted fuck is like "hur hur hur nah. Government is just for keeping people out and keeping those who are in, in line. Everybody in line must work and give to the government and get nothing in return bc quid pro no! If you can't handle it, survival of the fittest! And the government can't collapse if the majority of it's people are suffering - because if it lands on the bodies technically it never hits the floor!" And now that brand of stupid is going to slightly get their way as programs and assistance gets rolled back. This is the type of shit that created the Robin Hood types and I hope a revolution disperses the wealth to everyone except those who don't believe in government assistance, because help yourself bitch

I love jeopardizing my college career by angrily responding to the school board president every time she sends out an email about my school's pro-palestine rally last week!!
#this is not sarcasm I'm really enjoying dragging this woman's name through shit#she handled the whole situation so poorly#for context some people at the rally broke into a school building and graffitied it and someone stole some stuff too#but the school board president involved campus security AND city police with literal fucking guns#as if we don't have a remembrance ray for when 27 student protesters were attacked by police under the same circumstances#and then hospitalized!! in the same fucking month as now just like. yknow a couple decades ago#really great to see her lying to her students in every new email she sends she's making the dumbest decisions I've ever seen rn tho#“oh we'll hold a meeting so students can voice their concerns to staff” *this happens* “let's postpone the meeting so people can heal”#like huh??? no that's when you rush the meeting and it happens tomorrow instead of the end of the month dumbass#our first red flag was last month when she was like “why are students so concerned that the school is a partner of Boeing?”#girl. you live under a rock if you don't get that one#but like half the content of each of her emails about the Palestine rally are just made the fuck up#girl is inventing numbers from nowhere and (biggest mistake) trusting the city's cops 💀#like. the police here have a REPUTATION for being violent with peaceful protestors. why would you willfully invite them to do that#anyway. I'm pressed about it because now everyone on campus is talking about this shit instead of actually talking about rafah#xineohp rant

This is all close to what my mom said it felt like to her when Reagan first ran for President to her. She was in a little bubble where only her douchiest family were out and proud about voting for him. And based on historical analysis a HUGE amount of not just her family but friends basically lied to each other about voting for him/didn’t vote but pretended to. Reagan was a dumb Hollywood dude who ran to the right as Hollywood passed him by in her mind. So now the crazy thing is you had to be oblivious/in a bubble to be white and not believe despite news coverage that Reagan was gonna win. With Trump it’s a bit different in that unlike Reagan the majority of voters said hell no to the obvious evil. But I keep coming back to my mom’s willing obliviousness because the media was so willing to give a shitty evil doer a megaphone like they always are, and this combined with their 5 decades of ‘BOFF sides!’ we must appear impartial even if this means we are actually acting partial to one side to falsely create an untrue dichotomy. I, unlike my mom in the first Reagan election, was really worried about him winning because of this and the fact that Scalia’s court back in the day paved the way for republicans to win the White House without a majority because of how they stopped the recount to hand bush the lesser the election.
What I’m getting at is that Trump is just a weird shitty sequel to some shit we’ve already been through. The majority of white Americans will vote to metaphorically shoot themselves in the dick if it’ll not metaphorically kill lots of trans, black, undocumented people, etc. The difference now is that most of us were forced to sit through this movie. And if you have a problem with how I framed the electing of Trump as by the majority of white people (it was), then try to get your apathetic white family members to vote democrat down the ballot. Get involved in local politics. Otherwise eat shit
gotta say its interesting growing up & through cultural osmosis seeing donald trump as the pinnacle of american greed, decadence, and corruption. not a person but an empty symbol of capital. and then i become an adult and he's running for president in the first 3 elections im legally allowed to vote in

Just prior to the start of Putin's three-day special operation in February of 2022 Donald Trump, the self-proclaimed "stable genius" referred to Vladimir Putin as a "savvy genius". I think this is Day 526 of that three-day special operation.
Vapid bullying authoritarians only hire or appoint groveling sycophants, so there's nobody around to give them a heads-up on their galloping stupidity.
Remarkably, Trump got caught trying to cover up his cover up regarding the classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. 😆
Trump's ketchup-stained fingerprints of stupidity are all over his administration. Here's another example...
"Incandescently stupid": Former DHS official says he had to "dumb" down classified memos for Trump
We'll likely be hearing many more examples in the upcoming trials.

I was planning to do maybe a fic and more doodles of this but now I'm busy with school so I might as well show what I did do!
Based on how the goldilocks fic seems to posit that Bill at his best is a silly professor who loves to teach his own way
Introducing Professor Locke!
Things about this idea:
-post redemption, however that will go. I'm calling it an AU because I imagine it is not your plan for what happens after lol, but currently canon-compliant.
-Bill is at first not very on board with the idea of working in the higher education system. It's a scam and it's dumb that they tell adult people how to think.
-He's eventually convinced to bless Backupsmore with his tutelage, on the grounds that they're less stuck up there, they seem to care about giving their students opportunities despite their backgrounds, and the kids there care about learning rather than going to college just because their parents said they should.
-Ford uses his academic connections to vouch for Bill even though he is very mysterious and has no academic records. This is another reason why they picked Backupsmore: i's a little more lax when presented with a shockingly smart mystery professor. Bill gets an interview and charms the pants off the university president.
-He teaches "astrophysics" in theory (that's the job description) but he ends up teaching a little bit of everything.
-He's one of those professors you either adore or despise. He's very loud, often outright mean, and if you're too shy to speak up in class he does not give a SHIT about you. You gotta want it!
-However, his class is notoriously easy. He thinks homework and tests are facist, but he's required to have a curriculum, so his "quizzes" are like a few true or false questions and then a short answer where he asks something he thinks would be funny or wants to hear about, like "what's the dumbest thing another student has said in class since the last test and why was it dumb" or "fashion advice: what's the coolest thing I wore this last week? Extra credit: draw something cooler I SHOULD wear."
-as a result, students who have completely unrelated majors will take his class. If they end up being interested, he deems them worthy. If they're just there to be lazy, he will bully them into dropping out.
-Mabel buys him stickers to put on people's tests when they pass, or to just hand out when they something he likes. He gets along most with the college kids who know how to appreciate a classic gold star.
-He really wanted a big pretty lecture hall, where his voice would echo and he could point at a big chalkboard. But all Backupsmore could provide was a cinderblock and linoleum basement classroom. The lights buzz very loudly and it smells musty. They have stools and folding tables. Bill finds he enjoys the more intimate environment where he can walk between the tables and also sneak up on people.
-He's broken multiple folding tables by trying to do the cool professor thing where you hop up onto your desk and cross your legs and talk all casual. He is able to do this on his own desk thankfully. It's aluminum.
-Ford gets a bit nervous if he did the right thing when bill tells his school stories at the dinner table, so he finds an excuse to accompany Bill to a campus event where he can meet some of his students.
-His fears are quickly assuaged when he sees how beloved Bill is and how well he gets along with the kids. When he eventually joins in on one of these conversations, one of the students asks if he's Sixer. The students are excited by this. Bill tries to shut them up, to partial success.
OK I guess I just ended up writing the fic more or less so enjoy I guess lol.
Aww, this is adorable! Thank you! (And the fact that you're imagining a future for Bill makes me so happy.) He's absolutely be the weirdest professor in the school and he'd ADORE having a crowd full of trusting impressional minds whose parents are paying him to change the way they think. Talk about playing to his strengths.
Your idea is so wholesome, meanwhile the moment I saw "Professor Bill" I went,

The other examples in that video were “wasn’t the Mississippi the longest river in the U.S.?” (no, you just confused it with the Missouri and/or forgot which one was longer), and “didn’t the Jordan (shoes) logo have shorts, not pants?” (again, no, you just hadn’t seen it in a while and forgot what it looked like).
I’ve seen a couple of “Mandela effect” videos on Facebook recently and they’re just. So stupid. No, we didn’t travel to another universe, you just misspelled “Totino’s” as “Tostino’s”.

By far the weirdest, dumbest part of the whole "well intentioned progressives tried leading West Coast cities but failed, causing the homelessness crisis" thing is that for all of the press places like Seattle get for having wild radical progressive lefty politicians like... It's a rich city that is highly segregated and home to powerful moneyed interests ranging from business associations, massive corporations, to "regular everyday homeowners" whose homes are worth upwards of 1.7 mil who all lobby very very hard to buy political power. Hundreds become homeless every year thus removing them from the voting pool, misinformation in favor of moneyed interests is rampant in local coverage, and rents force residents to move frequently thus making it hard to become connected enough to a council district that they'd know the candidates or the primary neighborhood concerns (which inherently grants even more power to homeowners). The politics of Seattle are primarily directed towards STOPPING progressives, and you can see this happen very openly in mayors and city councils over the decades. Even when voters, for example, vote to form social housing, the powers that be simply refuse to allocate funds towards it. Very little progressive policy actually gets tried, and even when it is pushed through by great pains on part of local activists and their (usually few) allies in city council it gets undermined into oblivion by the mayor, more conservative council members, and local lobbying. You can see this happening in real time right now, even, with the council president on the warpath to repeal a recent bill requiring a livable wage for delivery drivers and outright rejecting research backed community led proposals for affordable housing that was years in the making. Similar stories can be found all the way up to the state legislature. Quite frankly we are more of a libertarian state than a leftist stronghold. The whole "road to hell paved with good intentions" narrative is ridiculous. Not least of all because even Seattle political leaders are so vehemently anti-tax that we don't even build roads in the first place, least of all enough of them to reach hell.
