If Donald Duck and Daisy Duck had a daughter, what name would they give her (they are obliged to answer) and if it were a boy, what name would they give her (the same)... :3
Hmm, that’s a good question, if it was a girl she would be call Della jr and if it was a boy Donald jr

Ironically, he is right and his essays are worth reading, even if I don't agree with him 100%. Yes, Ducktales 2017 isn't for everyone, to be honest, and it's especially not for me.
Man these ducktales polls made me go back to read djynir’s essay about DT17 on the Feathery Society and I’m already thinking “man this show actually sucked” lmao.

Hey guys, I'm obsessed with Ducktales so I'm making an AU for it
Tumblr media
We all know that Donald has anger issues and sees a therapist.
Well, what if a bit after the triplets are born and a while since Della has left there's an incident. He loses his tempor and one of the boys gets hurt, not badly, it's just a scratch, but he still feels horrible about it.
Donald is super anxious, so it's no surprise that he starts constantly worrying about accidentally hurting them again.
After talking to his therapist they decided that it would be best to send HDL to a foster family while maintaining guardianship until he's made more progress and can control his anger better.
They make arrangements, child services suggest trying to contact any relatives first.
While Donald insists that Scrooge is unfit to parent the boys, they call him anyway. Suprise suprise, he doesn't answer no matter how hard they try to talk to him. He's too busy pouring all his time into finding Della, ignoring anything else, he doesn't even find out about what's happening with his nephews.
Normally his close friend and housekeeper would answer these calls, but she has her hands so full with baby Webby (who's just shy of a year younger than HDL) that they go unnoticed.
Gladstone says that he would love to take them in but he's currently planning for a four year long expedition that includes traveling to casinos for gambling and drinking, not very kid friendly. He'd postpone, but the opportunity to visit some of the venues only opens once in a thousand years, and he is determined to win some big money in those legendary casinos. (hint hint, he gets trapped in one of them).
Feathery offers to take them, and child services denies due to the fact that he lives alone underwater. The conditions aren't safe for young children to grow up, but HDL will be allowed to visit once in a while if requested, as the facility itself is sound. He isn't willing to abandon his work on the edge of a breakthrough and move to a house above sea level.
So it's decided they will go to foster for a bit, Donald's only condition is that they don't get separated no matter what. He figures that even if something happens that they can't talk to him again, they'd always have each other. Everyone agrees to this and the paperwork is brought out.
Things are good for the first year, they go to this nice couple with an older kid, see their uncle on weekends, and start at public school. Donald's therapy is making progress, but he hasn't been able to hold down a job so the boys are to stay with the foster until he's financially stable.
Then Dewey gets into a fight. It wasn't his fault, really, but these older boys were picking on him so he punched them.
Louie tries to stay out of it, he's the smallest of the trio since he hatched last, and when one of the boys comes at him he uses his size to duck under them and run off. He goes to get a teacher.
Huey attempts to break it up at first, but after they push Dewey to the ground and try to hurt Louie, overprotective big brother loses his tempor.
He beats the bullies up, despite them being two years ahead. They aren't so injured they need medical attention but one of them hit their head and passed out, while the other two are bleeding and cowering against the wall when a teacher arrives.
HDL gets blamed for the incident, and they all get in trouble while the bullies get off. Despite Louie's protests, he's been marked down for cheating on a test and the school assumes he was part of it as well. Usually, they would just get detention, maybe a short suspension, however, one of the bullies just happens to be the son of a very influential school board member.
So the triplets end up expelled, after a lot of exaggeration over the incident and some crocodile tears from the bullies. They use Donald's anger issues against them, to prove that the boys are unstable. At this point they had only been in school a few months.
The school board talks to child services and recommends that the triplets are sent to homes or schools for troubled children. After half-ass assessing the boys, they ignore Donald's request and split them up.
Huey was able to play things down for himself, he's not a good liar but he's a goodie two shoes who managed to appeal to them. He stays with their original family for the time being and is moved to a different public school, while attending semi-regular therapy sessions for a bit.
Dewey is abrasive but hasn't been in trouble with the school before this. He tells them that the older boys started the fight, and while they don't entirely believe this story they go easy on him. They notice that he's very hyperactive, with love for adventure. Dewey is sent to Cape Suzette, where other foster/orphan children with a lot of energy have gone and seen promising results. They believe that being able to put his mind into more complicated things will calm his spirit. He bounces around the city a bit, and becomes friends with Kit who knew his mom from flight school (although they were never very close).
Louie gets it the worst, despite being the only one not involved in the fight. The bullies had claimed that he had been the one to start the whole thing, and the school board was very biased in their favour. Louie had previously managed to trick these three into giving him extra dessert at lunch, so this was their form of payback.
No matter how much he tried to explain that it wasn't true, the previous marks on his record for cheating made him out to be a bad kid. In actuality, he only tried to cheat because he was too lazy to do the work. He's a smart kid and he knew the answers, he could have passed just fine.
Thus, Louie ends up at a home for 'troubled boys'. He's one of the youngest, definitely the smallest, and way out of his element considering he was falsely accused.
The fight happened on Monday, the expulsion was finalized on Wednesday, and the boys were moved by Friday. On Saturday Donald is told that HDL got into a fight at school, and they believe his anger issues may have been a negative influence, so they want to pause the weekly visits for a little bit. Believing that they know best, and not having been told that the triplets were split up, Donald doesn't argue. He only asks if the boys were hurt at all, to which he gets a truthful "no, minus a few scratches".
AND THUS
THe boys have been separated, at an age where they would hardly rmbr once they grow up, and Donald has lost contact with them.
Do they manage to find each other and reunite once again? Do the triplets ever end up in a stable home? Does Scrooge get off his ass and become a parent figure to Webby? Will Donald attempt to contact his nephews again or become discouraged by everyone telling him he's unfit to be a parent?
We'll just have to wait and see.
I've been calling it the "finding family au" but I suppose you could also call it "split up au" as well.
This is the basic backstory, which I probably won't draw out, and we have a little more to go through until we get to the start of the actual story. I plan to make a mini comic for that little prelude, although it may take a bit to finish.
Send me asks about this and I will love u forever, I'm working on drawing designs for the triplets rn.
Yes, many more characters will be included. I have plans for team science, team heroes, team magic, May + June, and Goldie. If u have anyone else u wanna see let me know!

the 7-questions-ask: Donald Duck
Three facts about them from my personal headcanons:
*He really does have a speech impediment, as Daffy Duck said in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. No other Disney duck speaks like he does, not even his own relatives.
*He wasn't really born on a Friday the 13th. He was born on a Saturday the 13th. His sister Della just used to tease him by telling him he was born on Friday the 13th and that's why he's so unlucky, until eventually he came to believe it.
*When he, Mickey, and Goofy filmed Mickey and the Beanstalk, he ad-libbed the part where he pretends to shoot a machine gun at the giant dragonflies. The dragonfly's dive-bombing them was an unscripted result, and their panicked expressions are real.
A reason they suck:
The mean childish pranks he sometimes plays.
A reason they are great:
How funny he is.
A reason I relate to them:
I tend to get easily frustrated and overwhelmed too.
(what I consider to be) the top tier otp/ot3 for that character:
Donald and Daisy forever!
Five things that never happened to the character that I believe should have happened:
He should have had a bigger role in the '80s series of DuckTales, though apparently the 2017 reboot fixes this.
He should have interacted more with Goofy's son Max.
There should have been a sequel to Trick or Treat, where he redeemed himself by teaming up with Witch Hazel to stop a Halloween prankster even meaner than he used to be.
There should have been an Easter cartoon revolving around him. After rabbits, ducks and chickens are the animals most associated with easter and spring, so why not?
His talent as a flute-player from The Band Concert should have been seen more often.
Five people that character never fell in love with and why.
Minnie Mouse. She's nice, but she's not feathery enough for him.
Clarabelle Cow. She's too tall, and she's also lacking in feathers.
Clara Cluck. Even though they made their debut together, she's more like an older sister figure to him.
Della Duck. No incest.
Goldie O'Gilt. She's too old for him, and getting together with his uncle's old flame would be weird.

Hey, this is my first post!
Also, you know this person?
Tumblr media
This person right here?
Tumblr media
Yes, this person is a beautiful person. This person is very hard to miss.
Tumblr media
Blame this person for this dumb and wonderfully beautiful idea that I love so much. So here we go.
Dugan Duck AU!
Now hear me out!
What if season three didn't happen. What if I threw out all of the cannon we know now and just focused on background characters, or relationships we rarely get to see? That's what I'm planning to do. (To be clear, Daisy is staying. I love her and she's never leaving.)
I've decided that Dugan is about five by the time he comes into Feathery's care. It makes sense, since Feathery has been in the lab for four and a half years. @drummergirl231-2 had the idea that Feathery never knew about Dugan because he was in that lab for so long, and I think it's brilliant. But I also think we could go further.
What if Mary didn't want Feathery to know about Dugan because she thought he would be too distracted from his work (or something, I'm still working it out). But one day Mary gets really sick and has no choice but to send Dugan to his Uncle Feathery. I can only think of the chaos and cuteness that would bring.
Just imagine it. Scrooge is in his office after the events of Moonvasion. He's minding his own buisness when Feathery's can rings. Scrooge begrudgingly answers to an almost panicked sounding Feathery, telling him to hury over. Against his better judgment, Scrooge goes to visit, dragging Donald and Huey along with him, because why not. They get there and Feathery shows them the last thing they'd expect. There's a freaking toddler on the floor, just laughing to himself as they all stare at him. Feathery explains the situation about the baby NONE OF THEM KNEW ABOUT, and how Mary had kept him a secret. He would tell them he was taking the kid in but had no idea what to do, and all three of the other ducks would immediately start 'helping' in their own way. Donald would be the only helpful one as the other two just play with Dugan the whole time. Donald tells Feathery the basics and Feathery takes little notes in a torn notepad he had in his coat.
JUST IMAGINE IT!
Also things our lovely friend thought of that I didn't and I decided to add onto.
1: Feathery would ask for help at the worst times from Donald.
Absolutely true! No matter how many notes he took he would think he was doing something wrong. So, of course, he would call Donald at wildly inappropriate times. I mean, he would call during normal times too but that's not the point. It doesn't matter the time or day. If Dugan is sick at three in the morning, Feathery is calling Donald to get advice, getting reassurance and a death threat instead, not that Feathery would notice the threat (He's not dense, he's just focused on Dugan once the threat comes out). Dugan refuses to go to sleep? Feathery calls up Donald for advice. Dugan is slow at learning something? Donald is on speed dial and is groaning before Feathery even touches the call button.
2: Feathery rambles about Dugan.
Not only does he ramble about Dugan, he's always thinking about Dugan too. Sometimes he'll be rambling about Marinebiology and accidentally replace some of the creatures with Dugan without even realizing it. His family would be proud that he found something knew to be one of his special interests, but even Mrs. Beakley and Donald would get tired of the relatable stories and constant questions. But no matter how tiring it gets there is a silent agreement to never tell Feathery to shut up while talking about Dugan.
3: He does surprisingly well as a father.
Yeah, he's far from perfect, but he has so many fatherly tendencies already, you would think he was already a dad. He's willing to protect others at the cost of his safety (and maybe his life). He'll stop what he's doing, no matter how much he loves it, in order to make others happy. He even knows so much of how to take care of sea life, like they're his kids. I mean, he sings to his krill to make them happy and glow, he makes the sea worms feel loved, and then there's Mitzy (I don't think I need to explain that one).
Now here are my ideas.
1: Feathery's job. (This one is partially inspired)
Scrooge would suggest a job as soon as he knew that Feathery had taken in a kid, but Feathery would refuse. He would want to get his job the old fashioned way and want to earn it. He would find a research job and work super hard at it. Once he got home he would work even harder to take care of Dugan. That persistence never goes away and he almost over does himself a lot of the time until he finally does crash and Dugan somehow calls Donald to come over, who sees what happened and takes over from there. Feathery works so hard at his job that when Donald calls his work and tells them Feathery can't come in they don't even ask any questions and let's the family go on with their life for the day.
2: Gladstone and Feathery are really close.
I love the idea that Gladstone and Feathery kept in touch while he was in the lab. Once Dugan was adopted Gladstone made it his mission to become even closer to Feathery. He visits on weekends, babysits when Donald is busy, and he even helps Feathery with money on bad days. They're just so close and Feathery wishes he could return the favor, but Gladstone turns the suggestion down every time since he's "the luckiest duck in the world". It's just so cute.
4: Ships!
Of course there will be Feathery ships. I just don't know which one to choose. Should I bring Gloria (his girlfriend from the comics) back or should I do a ship from Ducktales? I don't know but I'm so excited!
5: Feathery has bad nights.
Feathery already has trauma like Della does. He was stuck in the lab for so long without any human (Is it human? I don't know the term.) contact. I bet he would have nightmares about it, refuse to get out of bed at night because it reminds him of the lab, jump whenever he saw seamonsters on tv, or just get sad because one of his favorite things was partially ruined because of the experience. He just hopes it's not obvious to Dugan and that the fear doesn't grow onto him.
6: Dugan is a wild child.
Dugan is the wildest child and you can not change my mind! He's more hyper than Dewey and Webby combined and it sometimes scares Feathery because Dugan always wants to do crazy stunts. He's met Webby and wants to do what she does. He loves animals, specifically jungle animals. His favorite animal is a porcupine and really wants one for a pet. Instead, Feathery got them a hamster and named him Porky. Dugan loves Porky almost as much as he loves jungles and adventure. Another thing to know is nothing can stop him when he puts his mind to something... except Uncle Feathery. He refuses to make Uncle Feathery mad. He hasn't yet and he wants to keep it that way.
7: Feathery is a giant neat freak.
After leaving the lab he realized how much of a neat freak he actually is. So once he got a house, Feathery made sure everything was spotless. He met Dugan and one of the first things he taught him was how to be neat and do things by himself. He will not tolerate toys on the ground or drawings on the wall. He will, however, tolerate spills. Accidents happen and he'll clean it up later. He's not strict and he lets Dugan bend the rules on occasion, but Dugan is not allowed to break the clean house rule, and Dugan refuses to break it. It's an unspoken rule, but it's the biggest rule.
And that's everything I've thought of so far! If you're reading this please say hello to @drummergirl231-2 for me. And Drummer Girl, if you're reading this... I'm sorry.
Have a good day!
(I just realized I never explained who Dugan is... he's Feathery's nephew in a comic that's not originally in English, so most of this is from scratch.)

WHAT IN DISMAL DOWNS IS THIS AND WHY DO I LOVE IT WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL?!
And we know from the Resurrectionists minisode that Crowley can not only have a Scottish accent but he can canonically do The Scrooge McDuck Voice (I'm serious go back and watch the Resurrectionists thing and then watch pretty much any clip from DuckTales 2017) so this works WAY better than it has any right to. Can you imagine CAN YOU FUCKING IMAGINE CROWLEY GOING TO HELL LOOKING LIKE THAT
Sauntering down there all feathery and shit, in his top hat and spats, and the other demons just staring in utter confusion.
And he simultaneously gains a newfound appreciation for Aziraphale's wonderful tartan things because he enjoys the Old Fashioned Scottish Vibes they radiate
And when he goes back to being human-shaped snake-man Crowley he remembers his time as a duck fondly - and from then on, he wears a necklace with a coin attached to it. Nothing special, it just seems like a cool thing to do...
Adam Young (who I firmly believe watches DuckTales) sees the pictures and wonders, vaguely, "did I do that?"
Well, he may not have been directly responsible, but perhaps his comments to Crowley on how alike he and Scrooge McDuck sound inspired Crowley to binge-watch the show (it is now second only to The Golden Girls on his favourite-show list) and he immediately became absolutely obsessed
But yeah this is amazing sorry I went on a bit of a ramble

🦆 DT 2017 Head Canons 🦆
(This can all be used in any fanfics or fanart as long as I am tagged)
Scrooge has a room for each and every member of his family in McDuck Mansion, dead or alive, each specialised for the individual although many of them hardly get used. Scrooge actually enjoys drawing for fun, and decorates each door with an individual item that reminds him of that person. Members include but are not limited to:
- Donald&Della. When they were little they shared a room with twin single beds either side of the room. The walls are painted a pale blue, as well as the door, which also has a boat sailing along the sea (bottom half) and an airplane zooming through the sky (top half). Now, they have individual rooms next to each other although Donald mainly sleeps in the house boat.
- Della. Her room is painted white to contrast with the darkness of space. She struggled in her room at first, as she longed to be able to see the sun when she woke up, but couldn’t face being able to see the moon or stars at night (at least not at first, she gets better). As a compromise, she has blackout curtains to block out the moon. She also has a lava lamp that Lena got her, and a white noise machine that is constantly playing lightly in the background. It’s not perfect, but it’s a good in-between of the crushing silence and imperceptible darkness of the “planet” moon, and the deafening cacophony and overwhelming visuals of earth.
- Donald. His door is dark blue with a white anchor on it. The walls are painted a greyish blue with a painted “thick” rope that curls around above the skirting board so it looks a bit like a ship being tied to a port. There is a large window that you can see the sea from but it doesn’t actually open. Instead, there is a flap but above it that you can flick up and down to prevent the wind from blowing through.
- Gladstone. His door is painted a pale green with cream walls. His door has a chain of four leaf clovers in a horse shoe shape.
- Feathery. His room is quite small, being the only bedroom (apart from Donald’s) that Scrooge could find that had a decent view of the docks and sea. To make up for it, he painted the walls a light blue with silhouettes of sea creatures swimming through the ocean. The door is bright red to stand out from the darkish wall of the corridor with a shrimp painted on it. (He later painted a krill to play with it once Feathery plucked up the courage to correct his uncle on his favourite animal) feathery also hangs up a hand made solar system that drives Huey insane when they are exploring as it isn’t accurate at all.
- Matilda. Her door is painted a light peachy pink, with white daisies in chains. Her walls are white with Lythrum salicaria, Scottish wildflowers randomly painted across the walls (the same ones she wears in her hair normally)
- Hortense. She was very family oriented, and always liked knowing where she came from. Knowing this, Scrooge painted a large tree on her door, roots curling around the skirting boards on either side, with leafy branches stretching to the ceiling. Instead of writing names, Scrooge draw a symbol for each family member that Hortense would recognise. The tree includes as far back as the McDuck’s can be remembered, and a branch also stretches off to the Duck family tree (Quackmore) and the latest of the Coots seeing as Hortense is married into that family.
MORE TO BE ADDED!
I want to add way more to this including all the kids (HDLW+Lena+Gosalyn+Boyd+April&May), Team Science, Goldie (QUEEN!), Launchpad, Mrs B, etc.
So if you have any ideas for them, don’t hesitate to tell me!

Are like the older duck family members of Huey Dewey and Louie ((and possibly Webby)) the grown up AU versions of the McDuck clan if they didn’t have parental guidance?
Cause like Feathery, Gladstone, Della and Donald have the same color pallets for the most part and like the character flaws of the boys is magnified by the adults:
Feathery: is if Huey never took a break from nerding out and didn’t have his brothers to keep him sane
Gladstone: is Louie if he didn’t have anyone to rein him in with his ego and get rich quick schemes
Della: is Webby if she didn’t have listen to Dewey telling her that maybe bringing ancient weapons to birthday parties is a bad move
Donald: is Dewey if Webby got lost in space, had adventures with Scrooge and realizing that he can’t afford to loose anymore family, because he feels to hard and masks it with quips and ego
