Knowing that trans women of color started the movement in the united states and were literally immediately erased and excluded from what they started is the most deeply jading knowledge.
It is the original sin of the so-called queer community and it damns it from the cradle.

My full story 🙏💔
I'm Areej I was an English teacher and a creative writer at we are not numbers
before war and everything change after October 7. Also I'm a creative writer at we are not numbers.
Dear my kind donors!
Also I am a mother of three children. We have lived through the war for a year and a half, and we have lost everything we own. My husband is a man who did not work. Before the war, I did not have a breadwinner or any source of income. During the war I didn't give up to teach so I volunteered and had good chance to help some students to get engaged again with English in a very creative way.

Please Save those innocent kids from war 🥺‼️🙏🙏
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We are in tents for almost two years because our home was destroyed‼️🥺
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After our several evacuation from place to another. Now we don't have a house after it was destroyed by missiles. I now ask you to help me rebuild my house. And buy basics for the daily essentials for my children and I need money so that we can stand up again and start again.
This war wasn't easy at all it has taken many friends at work, students and some of my colleagues at the university. They are almost ten souls I won't never forget . Their laughter, their presence, their love… all of it is gone, leaving behind memories that are both precious and painful. Every day, I carry the weight of their loss, but I also carry their spirit, which gives me the strength to keep going.
My lovely students before war 🥺
Tumblr media
Here’s what life in Gaza looks like for my family right now:
🏠 Safety: The uncertainty of tomorrow weighs heavily on us.
😢 Loss: The absence of my students and my friends is really hurts.
💔 Dreams on Hold: The future feels so far away when survival takes all our strength.

Note to mention the other very expensive essential goods. I hope you will stand by me to get food
The crossings boarders are closed again these days and war return in Gaza.
The crossing through which food enters has been closed for more than 30 days. We have nothing to eat, and even if we do, the prices are exorbitant. Some of the prices listed are:
1 kg of meat = $100
1 chicken = 70$
1 kg of fish = 100$
1 bag of flour = $200
1 kg of cooking gas = $150
1 kg of sugar = $15
1 kg of eggplant = $20
1 kg of tomatoes = $10
1 kg of onions = $25
How You Can Help Us Cross the Finish Line
Even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference:
. $5 might not seem like much, but it could mean a meal, clean water, or a tiny bit of hope for my family.
. Can’t donate? Reblog this post to help us reach someone who can. Every share matters more than you know.
To help me and my family you can donate here or at least you can share this post to people who can support us in gaz

i don't wanna sound hopeless but i feel like so many of you don't care or have stopped caring about palestine.
the news of hospitals being bombed, children being massacred, people dying from the cold, and the famine spreading in gaza does not seem enough to grab attention or make people care.
what new tragedy needs to befall gaza for you to start talking about it? the occupation kills a child every few minutes. people are cold and are starving. refugee camps are being bombed with bombs that can level city blocks.
this all happens because of all of us. we are complicit in this genocide because our governments use the taxes we pay to send weapons to the occupation. weapons that are used to kill children and impose a blockade that is starving 2 million people.
the very fact that we're still going about our days when all of this is going on breaks my heart. especially because we have failed to stop our governments from using our money to arm israel.
i urge you, please be generous and donate to suad and her baby khaled. he is just six months old and suad is unable to find any formula for him. if she finds anything, it is extremely expensive. the baby also needs warm clothes and is suffering from a respiratory problem and needs a nebulizer.
@suad-khaled has been verified [#279]
please help suad and her baby boy

A Cry of Hope: A Family's Journey from the Rubble to Rebuilding 🌟
Tumblr media
War is not just bombing and destruction; it devours our lives, strips us of safety, and takes away all our dreams. My name is Hani, a 26-year-old from Gaza. Despite all the destruction and loss, I still hold on to hope because it is the last thing I have. This is my story and the story of my family, torn apart by war but united by love and resilience. 🌱
Tumblr media
Before the War: A Simple Life and Deferred Dreams
Before the war turned our lives into a nightmare, I was striving to achieve my dreams in social work after completing my university studies. I dreamed of contributing to improving people's lives in my community and serving the most vulnerable groups, but the lack of job opportunities in Gaza prevented me from realizing this dream. I had to work as a taxi driver 🚗 to support my large family. It wasn’t what I had planned, but it was the only way to provide for them.
We lived a in a small house in northern Gaza, trying to cope with daily difficulties, but we were together, and that was enough for us.
Then came the war, and it took everything. It turned our lives upside down, and my dreams became like scattered debris. 💔
The War: When Dreams Turned to Ruin
In one moment, we lost everything. Our home was destroyed, and the car that was my livelihood was also wrecked. We fled to the south to escape the bombings, and a tattered tent became our shelter. We now live in a camp where the heat is unbearable , and diseases surround us from all sides. My children and younger siblings live in constant fear 😔, deprived of education and safety. Their childhood was stolen from them, and their daily struggle is to find simple moments of joy in the midst of this destruction. 🎈
Tumblr media
Despite all this suffering, hope still shines in our hearts. We believe that with your solidarity, we can rebuild our lives. 🌟
Human Solidarity: Hope in Difficult Times
Despite the distance, we received unexpected support from friends who didn’t know us personally but felt our suffering. One sent us food aid 🍞, and another sent messages of support through social media. These messages and donations renewed hope in our hearts and made us believe that the world has not forgotten our humanity. 💖
Even the support from the local community, though modest, gave us the strength to continue resisting. Some neighbors gave us what they could, offering food and medicine. That assistance was a silent message that solidarity between us can triumph over the horrors of war. 🕊️
Hope for the Future
Hope is what keeps us alive in the hardest moments. One night, I received a message from my brother Salem, who lives in a camp in Greece. He said to me, "One day we will gather in a safe place, and we will live in peace." His words were a ray of light illuminating the dark nights. 🌙
My Family: Resilience in the Face of the Impossible
My Father Yasser (55 years old): He was the pillar of the family, but chronic illnesses have made him unable to work. His health deteriorates day by day, but having him with us is a blessing we cling to. 🙏
Tumblr media
My Mother Manal (50 years old): She suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure. Despite needing constant care, her strong will is our source of strength. 💪
Tumblr media
My Brother Salem (27 years old): He studied electrical engineering, but had to work as a laborer in a plumbing tools factory. He suffered a severe foot injury, leading to a 70% disability. He decided to leave Gaza in search of treatment and work, and now lives in a camp in Greece. 🌍
Tumblr media
My Sister Safaa (23 years old): She is the daily support of the family, working hard to provide food and water for us. 💧🥖
Tumblr media
Ibrahim (15 years old): A young boy with a big heart, trying to smile despite all the tough circumstances. 😊
Tumblr media
Nasser (7 years old), Bara’a (5 years old), and Adam (3 years old): These children have never known a true childhood, but they try to find simple moments of joy amidst the destruction. Every day they lose a part of their innocence due to the constant fear of bombings and disease. 😢
Tumblr media
Our Daily Conditions: Between Poverty and Suffering
Each day in the camp presents a new challenge. We live in a small, dilapidated tent, and suffer from a lack of clean water 💧 and food. Medicines are expensive, and food is scarce. My children can't go to school due to a lack of resources 📚, which increases our psychological suffering. Despite all of this, we try to maintain our spirit and resilience, believing that change is possible with your support. 🌱
Tumblr media
Our Campaign Goals: An Urgent Call to Rebuild Our Lives
We now live beneath the rubble, and our goal is to secure the essentials to rebuild our lives:
1. Secure permanent shelter for the family: Build a stable tent to protect my family from the harsh conditions. 🏡
2. Provide medical treatment for my mother and father: Fund treatment to alleviate their suffering. 💉
3. : .Return our children to education: Provide basic educational supplies for the children. 📚
4. Sustainable food support: Provide food for our family on an ongoing basis. 🍞
5. Move the to a safe place: Secure the necessary resources to relocate to a place far from conflict. 🛤️
6. Rebuild our professional lives: Start small projects to ensure financial independence. 🛠️
7. Protect the children from diseases: Secure medical tools and cleaning supplies to protect our children from illness. 🧼
Urgent Appeal
This is not just a story about a family suffering under the rubble; it is a cry of hope and resilience in the face of the impossible. My family desperately needs your support. War has destroyed us, but we have not lost faith in the possibility of rebuilding our lives. We ask you to stand by us in this difficult time, so together we can provide shelter 🏠, treatment 💊, education 📚, and food 🍞 for our children.
Every contribution no matter how small, brings us one step closer to a better life, free from fear and destruction. 🕊
Help us today to protect our future and build a tomorrow full of hope. 🌟

DO NOT DO THIS.
This makes me so angry.
If you work in a movie theater and you do this I have no respect for you.
My younger brother is Type 1 Diabetic.
When we go to a movie theater, we always get him diet soda. If he were to get regular when we asked for diet, we would not give him the insulin he would need for it. If that happens, his blood sugar level could go so high he could go into a coma, go blind, or even die.
If somebody gave him regular soda instead of diet without telling us, that person could be responsible for a nine-year-old being killed or blinded.
Just thinking about that makes me so angry. I get scared every time we take him to a movie in case the people working there saw this picture and decide to do the same thing.
Please signal boost this so people know.

Let's Begin
It was the first thing in the morning and, just like Uncle Donald had said, they were out in town to get gear and supplies. But first, they made a stop at the diner. "Okay boys," Donald began. "Today is the day you go on your adventure. But I have a question for you. Do you want to go?" Donald asked, leaning on the table.
They were all finishing up their breakfast with their Pokemon. Donald only had Purser, his Poliwrath, and Bell, his Medicham, with him. Now, it isn't typical to have more than six Pokemon, but it is allowed. It is, however, illegal to use more than six pokemon for battles. Even six pokemon in a battle is excessive. So people normally only have two or three pokemon on their teams.
Huey glanced at Louie and Malachite as Pheonix gave an excited chirp. DJ and Dewey were all for an adventure. DJ was bouncing up and down as Dewey threw his fists in the air.
"Heck yeah! I can't wait to kick butt!" Dewey exclaimed.
"Being a trainer is more than just battles, Dewey." Donald interupted.
The boys looked at him, confused.
"What do you mean?" Huey asked, taking out his JWG. "My guidebook says that 'Pokemon trainers are known for their battling skills, and their excessive battling'." He read out loud.
"Yes, that's what they're known for. But that is not everything they do." Donald explained.
"What do trainers do, than?" Louie asked.
"Most people battle as a hobby. As a trainer, it's a full time job. But being a trainer has more than battling as the daily checklist. This is why most people aren't trainers anymore. The main reason is that every professional pokemon trainer must have a book of the law and have a good idea of the rules. The reason for that is because trainers work really closely with police, and are expected to be able to help people when the police can't be there in time." Donald explained. "That's why the League is in charge. They are basically the head of the police force. It's also why they get to make the rules." He added.
"What? They can't just dump that on children." Huey said in an exasperated tone.
"They don't make the choice, you do. That's why you aren't allowed to become a trainer until you're thirteen, at the lowest. Thirteen is when you are able to make clear decisions, even if it confuses your brain and makes everything an extreme." Donald told them.
"Okay. But being what's basically a superhero? Sign me up!" Dewey said, his smile growing as he slapped his hand on the table.
"That's not the only other thing you need to know." Donald said. He took a deep breath to hold in a groan. He knew they weren't ready for this. Dammit, Della! If only Uno was here to help him. "The thing is that you are now basically an underaged parent but you don't get your own house. You're constantly traveling with your team and whoever else you pick up on the way." He explained.
"That's not that ba-"
"You also need to keep money on you at all times." Donald cut in, taking a sip of his coffee. "Every time you loose a battle, you have to pay the other person a minimum of 50P for every Pokemon they have left standing. That's part of the law. Doesn't matter if you're a trainer, if you engage in a battle, even a practice one, you need to be able to pay. So keep track of your money at all times." Donald told them.
"What?!?" Dewey exclaimed.
"Come on!" Louie groaned.
"That's not fair!" Huey complained.
"It is. It only feels unfair because if you loose, you're the one who has to pay." Donald said, gesturing for them to calm down. "But, being a trainer also has its perks. Preforming in contests, staying in hotels, and healing your pokemon at Pokecenters are all free. Everything additional that you buy there is at a discount, except for performance prices. Those are full value and very expensive. I suggest you make your own props and costumes." Donald explained.
"Wait, why do you know so much about contests?" Dewey asked.
"I will have you know that me and your mother were prized performers for two years in a row with our conjoined teams. You should have seen Private. He was so awesome. He always stole the show." Donald told them with a fond smile. Purser smacked Donalds leg, making Donald wince but chuckle. "You were great to, Purser, don't worry bud."
"Cool. Can't wait to see how contests work." Louie smiled. "All the gold..." He chuckled menacingly, rubbing his hands together.
"Unfortunately, most awards aren't actually gold. You have to be a prized performer before you can get actual trophies. But I'm sure you can get there someday." Donald corrected.
"Awe man." Louie grumbled.
"How do battles and Performances work?" Huey asked, holding a pencil, as he had been making notes in his guide book the whole time.
"I can't tell you that." Donald replied.
"Why not?" Dewey asked.
"Ever since you were little, that was the one thing your mom wanted on your adventure. She wanted you guys to figure things out as you went, just like us." Donald explained. "But for battles, they go by turn based rules. You only have one turn to do something before the other person can do something. Than your pokemon attack at the same time. You can have single battles, or double battles if you're facing two opponents." Donald whispered, as if Della would hear. Huey quickly wrote this down as Donald gave Purser a pointed look. "Don't you dare tattle, you traitor." Donald hissed, pointing at his Poliwrath. He got snickers from both Purser and DJ, Bell shaking her head from where she was sitting on the floor.
Once Huey finished writing everything down he glanced to Dewey. Dewey was thinking as hard as he possibly could about this. It was a weird sight, but Huey could understand. He glanced down at his notes before looking to Pheonix. Pheonix was looking at him with an expectant look. He let a smile slip onto his lips as he pet his Torchic, making him chirp in enjoyment. But then he looked over to his baby brother.
Louie was looking to Malachite, almost in a silent conversation. It made Huey nervous. He thought he had his answer, but to be completely honest, he would never leave if his brothers weren't with him.
"So," Huey snapped out of his thoughts, looking to his uncle. Donald put his cup down before putting his hands together and resting his head on top of them. There was a hesitant pause as he looked each boy and their pokemon in the eye. "Do you wanna go?"
"Yes!" Everyone looked to Dewey as he stood up. "This is all I've ever wanted. I can take the responsibility. Give me this chance and I can prove I can take everything thrown at me. A little hard work never hurt anyone." Dewey told their uncle.
Donald let a small smile come to his lips as he looked at his nephew in admiration.
"I think I want to go, too." They all looked over to Louie, who had his hand raised as he held Malachite in his other arm, like a child would their toy. "I think Malachite would like the travel. Plus, who knows what buisness opportunities I could get." Louie told them.
"Huey?" Huey looked at Donald. "What about you?" Donald asked. There was a moment of hesitation, but Huey slowly began to nod.
"Yeah, yeah. I can't wait to see all the pokemon. Do you know how much research I could get in? I could learn more than I could ever dream of! There's no way I'm not going!" Huey said, getting more and more excited with every word, starting to bounce in his seat and flap his hands.
Donald sighed as he flagged down a waiter. "Can we have our check, please?"
The boys were running down the street with their Pokemon as Donald and Purser walked behind them. The boys had no idea where they were going, and Donald knew that. And, right on time, the boys stopped on a street corner and looked at the signs, confused.
"Which way do we go?" Huey asked.
"Uh, maybe right?" Dewey questioned, scratching his head.
"What? I thought you guys knew where the, uh- What's it called again?" Louie asked, Malachite landing next to him.
"The DPP," Donald answered, stepping up to them. "It stands for Department of Pokemon Professions. And it's riiiiiiight there." Donald said, grabbing Louie's shoulder and gesturing to the building across the street from them. Donald held in a chuckle as Dewey threw his head back in a groan, Louie facepalmed, and Huey shook his head in disappointment. "Come on, don't beat yourself up. Me and Della did the same thing when we got our license, and we were older than you.
"Yeah, by like a year." Dewey grumbled, crossing his arms.
"Three, actually. But that was a good guess, Dewey." He corrected, patting said nephew on the head before ushering them across the street.
"What! You were sixteen when you started your adventure?" Dewey exclaimed.
"Yep. Scrooge was just as terrified as me and didn't have a second opinion to bounce off of, so he refused to let us go for years until Mrs. Beakley finally put her foot down. Good thing was that we got to travel with our cousins. Well, maybe not 'good thing', but it's what happened." Donald told them. "But, that also means you three are the youngest in the family to get your licenses." He added.
"Wow." Huey breathed out, clutching his JWG close to his chest.
Donald opened the door for them before leading them to the front desk. A young lady was at the front desk, sorting papers. It usually took two days for trainers-to-be to come into the DPP, so it was understandable that she wasn't really doing much. The four walked up to her.
The woman noticed them and gave a smile as she put the papers to the side. "Hello there. What can I help you with today?" She asked them.
Donald leaned on the desk. "Three trainers licenses, please." Donald said, putting three fingers up to emphasize his words.
It took a moment for the woman to realize what he said, making Donald a little annoyed, but when she did realize what he said her smile grew. "Oh, you guys came in early. Are you excited for your adventure?" The woman asked the boys, logging into her computer.
"Oh my gosh, yes!" Dewey exclaimed, grasping the counter. DJ began jumping at his side as he squealed in excitement. Dewey picked the pokemon up. "We are going to be the best duo the world has seen. Mom is gonna be so jealous!" He announced, making his brothers shake their heads.
"Wow, that sounds exciting. What about you four?" The lady asked the other boys and their pokemon.
"Oh! I'm gonna learn all I can about our world! Can you imagine all the things we haven't discovered about Pokemon yet? It's amazing!" Huey said, bouncing with his book and Torchic in his arms.
"I bet. And what about you? What are you excited for?" The lady asked.
Louie just shrugged as he pet Malachite, who was sitting on the counter. "Not much. I just want to see what buisness opportunities I can get." Louie replied.
"That's a good idea. There are jobs all around the region that need you to be a trainer to apply for. I like your thinking kid." The woman slightly rambled. She pulled up the stuff she needed and smiled. "Okay, lets begin. We'll have all your stuff out here in no time. Do you have explorer bags at home?" The woman asked.
"Yes, they do." Donald nodded.
The woman smiled, as she didn't need to figure out what Donald said because of the nod. "Great. Than we'll just give you your stuff in grocery bags. Now. Do you already have X-Trancevers?" The woman asked.
"X-Trancevers?" Louie asked.
"X-Trancevers, they're also known as X-Trans. They came out a few years ago and are now mandatory for all trainers. They help you while traveling, being anything ranging from a map to a multi-person screen caller. It can even send Pokemon to people to watch over, or trade them." Donald explained, Huey taking notes again.
"Oh, than no, we don't." Dewey said.
"Okay, you'll each get one. That's an extra tax on the gear, though." The lady said with a guilty expression.
"Don't worry. I can cover it." Donald waved off.
"... Oh, okay." The lady said once she processed his words. She typed it down in her computer. "Are you traveling together?" She asked the boys.
The boys traded looks before answering. "Yes." They all said, together. The woman giggled at this as she typed it in.
"Great. So you'll only need one rule book and trainer guide. Than I'll print out some papers you need to fill out individually before we get your licenses and gear ready. Oh, and sir?" Donald signaled she had his attention. "Do you want them to have a tent or two?" She asked.
"No thank you. Can they just get sleeping bags?" He asked.
"... Yes we can. Do you also want them to have pouches to hold Pokeballs in idle mode?" She asked.
"Yes please." Donald nodded.
"Great. You can go sit down for a moment and I'll bring the forms over in just a moment. We should have your gear ready within the hour." The lady informed.
"Thank you." Donald said as the boys began to walk towards the seats.
"Oh, it was no trouble." The woman said, already knowing what he was gonna say. Donald gave her a great full smile before walking over to his boys.
It had been an hour and they had gotten their things from the lady at the fronts. "And here are your ID cards." The lady said, holding out three cards out to the boys. They awed at the cards as they each gently picked theirs up. Without warning, they started to jump around in excitement, whooping and cheering together. The only Pokemon bouncing around with them was DJ, who was snickering as he danced with them.
The lady giggled as Donald and Purser grabbed the bags of gear. "Thank you again, ma'am." He said.
"Huh? Oh, you're welcome, sir. I hope they do well. Now, have a good day." She replied with a smile and a wave.
"You too." He said, making his way to the door. "Come on boys! We got more shopping to do!" Donald called, getting them to follow him as they danced and cheered, Pheonix and Malachite following behind.
They raced around town, getting everything they could think of that they needed. They even stopped by Fethry to get their own specialized pokedex's, his treat. Donald had told the lady to hold the pokedex's before they turned the forms in earlier. The boys were being very smart with what they got, watching their allowance money as they bought potions and antidotes. They even got a pass for helper pokemon, for a whole year. Donald smiled, softly. Maybe they were ready for this.
They were now outside of the houseboat with their bags. Their Pokemon were in their balls and Donald was currently checking them over. "So, you're all ready? Last chance to back out." Donald told them.
"We're ready." Dewey said.
"We're not missing this chance." Huey added.
"Or else this whole day was a waist." Louie finished.
Donald chuckled. "Okay." He than checked his watch. "The sun goes down in three hours. The next town is four hours away. Are you sure you don't want to stay here tonight?" He asked them.
"We'll be fine, Uncle Donald." Huey said. "We have a fire type with us, and plenty of flashlights, so we have more than enough things to be able to see. And we have plenty of potions, so we'll be able to heal our Pokemon on our way there." Huey said.
"Just remember, you have a limited amount of potions and antidotes." Donald reminded.
"Yes, Uncle Donald." The boys all said together.
"You're welcome back any time. Now get going, before it gets too dark to start walking." Donald told them. He watched as the boys waved their goodbyes and began to walk away. He watched as they whispered stuff to each other as they walked. What confused him was when they stopped and dropped their bags.
Without any warning, the boys came running at him to tackle him in a hug. He stumbled back a little, but kept his balance. He held his boys tightly, knowing they would be gone when he let go.
"We love you, Uncle Donald." Dewey whispered to his uncle. Donald tightened the hug, nuzzling into his boys to hide his teary eyes.
"I love you three, so much. Please, be safe." He mumbled.
"We promise." Huey quietly replied.
"We always will be." Louie added.
"Okay." Donald breathed out.
They all stood in that hug for what felt like an amazing eternity before the boys let go. They waved once more before grabbing their bags again and walking off. Donald watched them walk, refusing to cry until they were out of sight. They kept peaking glances back until they finally turned a corner.
Donald finally broke down into tears, almost falling to the ground. His Pokemon brought him inside and sat him on the couch, Cutlass laying his head on Donalds lap as the rest of his pokemon tried to calm him down.
He was not ready for this.
The boys were set up in a hotel room in the town their Uncle had told them about. They were forced to all share a bed, but it was fine. I mean, they were used to it. It was the cheapest option, and they always did it on vacation with their uncle. Donald couldn't always afford more than one room, so he would get a room with two beds and two boys would share one bed while the other slept with Donald. It's just how they were.
The three were laying in their bed as their Pokemon slept in a pile at the foot of the bed. Again, Louie couldn't sleep, but he wasn't alone this time.
"Hey, guys?" He asked in a hushed voice.
"Yeah?"
"What is it, Louie?" His brothers asked in mumbled voices.
"Can we make a promise?" He asked.
"What promise?" Huey asked.
"Promise me we won't be against each other. I mean, we'll be against others, and even hate them, but let's never let that happen to us. We're in this together and always support each other through anything. Promise me?" Louie asked, sounding almost scared. His brothers didn't need to look at each other.
Dewey hugged his little brother. "I promise." He mumbled, a sleepy smile on his face as he nuzzled into his brother.
"Me too." Huey replied, bringing his brothers into a protective hold.
Louie smiled as he laid between them, cuddling closer so he felt safer. "Thanks, guys."
They didn't have trouble sleeping after that.

Epilog
Donald doesn't want to admit it, but he knew this day was coming.
Donald is reading the paper as he sips on his coffee. Cutlass, his Keldeo, is sitting at his feet. It was a quiet morning, as his boys had gone into town to get each other presents, and get icecream. They did this every year for their birthday. They would spend hours in town as he got the house boat ready for their family party. They were probably visiting Uncle Scrooge right now. He always comes into town for their birthday, ever since their eleventh one. The boys were thirteen today.
The rest of Donald's Pokemon were off doing something to get ready for the party. They always liked get small presents for the boys. They all usually come back with random things that they find near the docks. Cutlass had alread gotten his present for the kids before anyone had waken up, as always. Every year, Donald would take their small presents and put them into three boxes for the boys. The boys got a lot of bobbles and trinkets every year.
Donald took another sip of his coffee before giving a sigh. A nice, relaxing day was just what he needed. He felt a tap on his leg, causing him to look down at his side. Chief, his Primeape, had a box in one of his hands, three small, differently colored bells on top of it. Donald was a little more than curious at this.
"Hey, Chief. Late mail? That hasn't happened in a while." Donald said, reaching for the box. Donald paused when Chief shook his head. "Did someone give it to you?" Donald asked. Chief nodded. "Do we know them?" Another nod. Donald sighed in relief as he gently took the box from his Primeape. "Thank you. I like the bells. They'll look great on the boards." He smiled, making Chief jump in joy before running off to find the other Pokemon. "Don't fall off the boat again!" He shouted.
Donald waited a moment before he heard a comedic splash. Cutlass sighed at the same time Donald shook his head. Cutlass raced out to go help Chief as Donald turned his attention back to the package. "What could you be?" He asked, taking the tiny bells off. He took the letter out from under the string that held the paper package together. He looked at both sides with a critical eye. It was addressed to him and he knew that handwriting anywhere. Della. He carefully ripped the envelope open and unfolded the paper inside.
'Dear, Donald'
Oh boy. She's scared. He could tell by the formality. Despite that, he continued to read.
'I know you said they weren't ready, but I think they are. But, ultimately, this is your choice. Inside the package are three Pokemon I think the boys would like. Uncle Scrooge helped me choose them.
Scrooge is already counting the days until the boys come to challenge him. He thinks they're going to be the youngest league challengers yet. Please, just consider it. Besides, Feathry and Gladstone are excited to see them on the road.
Gosalyn and Webby are getting their Pokemon today as well, funny enough. I promise, I had nothing to do with it! My boys just happened to be born on a national holiday where children thirteen and older come together with Pokemon and become trainers. I don't make the rules.'
Yes she did.
'Well, I hope you think about it. Just remember, this is your call. You are allowed to say no if you want to. I'm spending time with the boys before they go back to the house boat. I have a meeting down here, so I thought it was perfect. See you this weekend.
Sincerely, Della.
P.S. Daisy wants you and the boys to call her before the party starts. I hope you got her package.'
Donald inwardly groaned as he leaned his head so far back, he thought his chair was going to fall back. He heard a clicking noise at his side, causing him to look over to see Cutlass looking at him with concern. He looked at the package on the table before nodding.
"It's time."
-
"Happy birthday to you~!" Donald finished singing. The boys blew their candles out, trying to see who could blow out the most. He could hear Killick, his Gearadose, make a chuckling sound from out the window. Donald and his many Pokemon cheered once all the candles were out, making the boys smile happily.
"Present time!" Dewey shouted, standing on his chair and throwing his hands in the air. Huey and Louie snickered as Donald gave Dewey a stern look, causing the boy to quickly sit down.
"Okay, you can have your presents. First, team presents." Donald said. He pushed up three presents in distinct colored wrapping. The boys always got their favorite colors to mark their gifts. They each opened their gifts to see an assortment of things that were clearly found around the docks. Stuff people had dropped, things that had fallen off of peoples clothing, loose change, really smooth pebbles that looked like specific things, ect. They each had eleven things in their boxes if Donald had counted correctly, and he knew he had. And like every year, they thought it was adorable and thoughtful. They, of course, gave each Pokemon their praises and pets.
Donald put down their present from Daisy, split into three boxes. The boys opened their presents to find they had gotten specially made explorer bags with their names on them. Dewey got an over-the-shoulder bag while Huey and Louie got backpacks. They loved the presents so much, but were confused why they got adventure bags instead of school bags.
"Okay, your last present of the day." Donald said, pushing a paper wrapped package towards the boys. The boys were confused by this, a lot more than before.
"Last present? No clothes?" Louie asked.
"Don't you get us clothes every year?" Dewey asked.
"Yes, he does." Huey confirmed, relying on his memory alone.
Donald sighs with a chuckle. He knew they would question him.
"Boys, you still get clothes, but they're already hung up in your closet." Donald told them. "This present is from Della, Uncle Scrooge... and me." Donald explained. The boys couldn't miss the hesitation in his words. "Go ahead. I'll explain when you see what it is." Donald told them with a reassuring smile.
The boys looked between each other to see who would open it. Louie grabbed onto Deweys arm as Huey reached for the package. He undid the string and pulled off the paper before taking the lid off. They peaked inside and saw something they thought they would never see. There were three pokeballs sitting in the box.
They all looked to their uncle with shock. There was no way in a million years that their uncle was going to let them go on an adventure alone, let alone out of his own free will. There was just no way. Donald must have seen the hint of suspicion because he just gave them a reassuring look.
"I admit, it wasn't my idea. Della sent them this morning while you were out in town with her and Scrooge. I got a letter explaining she thought you guys were ready to go on an adventure. She picked them with Scrooge, but it was my decision to give them to you. I think you guys are more than ready to go, and that scared me for the longest time. But it doesn't matter how I feel. I'm giving you permission to go on an adventure. Now it's your decision to make." Donald rambled. He watched the boys trade looks before standing. Before Donald knew it, he was tackled in a hug with three pairs of arms.
Donalds pokemon watched with admiration as the boys hugged their uncle. Donald held them close, almost scared to let go, and his Pokemon knew it. But once they did let go, Donald gestured with his head to the gift box. The boys carefully brought the box over to Donald.
"Can you introduce us?" Huey asked with a sheepish smile.
Donalds surprise melted into gentle joy as he carefully took the box from them. "Of course." He nodded. The boys stepped back as Donald stood and put the box down. He grabbed one Pokeball and looked at the label that was under it. With a press of a button, a red and orange puffball came out and landed on the table with a chirp. "Torchic, the fire type pokemon." He told them.
Huey smiled as he looked at the bird. He didn't need a second opinion. He stepped up to the Torchic and leaned down to be face to face with it. "Hi, I'm Huey. Do you wanna be my pokemon?" He asked in a hushed voice. Donald's heart seemed to melt as the Torchic carefully walked over and nuzzled into Huey's face. Huey giggled as he picked the chick up. "I'm gonna call you Pheonix." He said with a bright smile. Phoenix chirped in agreement as Huey walked over and sat on the couch with him.
Donald didn't need to say anything before grabbing the next pokeball. He pressed the button and let a blue blob land on the table. It looked at the boys before snickering. "Piplup, the water type." Donald introduced.
"Oh my gosh, you are adorable!" Dewey squealed. He ran up with an excited smile. "Do you know any tricks? Can I be your trainer? Can I call you DJ? It's short for Dewey Jr." Dewey asked. The Piplup nodded excitedly and Dewey picked him up with a bubbling laugh. "This is the best day of my life!" He exclaimed, spinning around. He sat on the ground, near Huey, so he could play with DJ.
Louie was distracted by his brothers until a flash of light caught his eye. He looked back over to Donald to see a pokemon he recognized. "And this is Rowlet, the grass type pokemon." Donald introduced.
Louie pulled a chair up to sit in front of the Rowlet. "I remember you." He mumbled, laying his head on his arms.
"You know each other?" Donald asked in surprise.
"Yeah, me and Uncle Fethry found him hurt last time it was just him and me. His wing wasn't working too good, so we took him in. He's pretty chill if I remember." Louie explained. He pet the Rowlet's head with a lazy smile. "I guess I got to keep you after all." Louie whispered.
Huey and Dewey cooed from the sidelines, getting a glare from their brother. Louie was about to bark back at them when the Rowlet tucked himself under his chin and in his arms. He hummed in satisfaction, closing his eyes. "Thanks, bud. I'm gonna call you Malachite." Louie mumbled, letting his eyes close, lazily.
"I'm glad you guys are getting along. We'll go get your gear first thing in the morning." Donald told them, getting cheers from all three of the boys, plus DJ and Pheonix.
-
Everyone was asleep. Donald's Pokemon always slept scattered around the houseboat, hiding wherever they could fit. Huey was asleep with Pheonix sleeping next to his head. Dewey was asleep, his body sprawled out across the bed. DJ was on his chest, also sprawled out. Donald was asleep in his room, the only Pokemon sleeping in his room with him was Cutlass and Private, his Blastoise. The only ones not asleep were Louie and Malachite.
Louie couldn't fall asleep, and Malachite could sense this. They sat on his bunk in silence for a good while. Louie knew it was well past midnight by now, but he just couldn't sleep.
"Malachite?" His Rowlett looked up at him, sitting across from him. "Do you want to go on an adventure?" Louie asked in a whisper.
Malachite tilted his head.
"If you don't want to battle that's fine. If you want to stay here, than we can stay here. I'm not going to do anything you don't want to do." Louie said.
Malachite walked over to his leg and nuzzled it, causing him to chuckle.
"Does that mean it's my choice?" He asked.
Malachite looked him in the eye.
"Okay." He mumbled. "What do we do now?" Louie asked, reaching for his blanket as the room began to get cold.
Malachite walked over to his pillow before faceplanting into it.
Louie let out a soft chuckle at this. "Sleep. Sleep is good." Louie mumbled in amusement as he pulled his blanket higher and laid on his pillow as well. Malachite rolled under the blanket and under Louie's chin, getting him to latch onto the Rowlet out of instinct. "Goodnight, Malachite. I love you." He yawned before they both fell asleep.
Huey sat in bed, staring at the wall as he listened to his baby brother begin to snore. He didn't know what to think of what he had just heard. Huey was always a light sleeper, so Louie had woken him up with his first word. Oh how he regretted it. What was he supposed to think? His brother might not be with them tomorrow because his Pokemon might want to stay with Uncle Donald... But that wasn't always a bad thing. It was just unexpected. That's what he reminded himself. Everyone is different and has different priorities. So do pokemon. It's best to just think about it tomorrow.
