This will be interesting. They have plans to add a wholesale section which I don’t really like the idea of. They also have plans to add a section specifically for reptile rescues, which I am interested in seeing. & aiding conservation efforts (though no info yet on How exactly they plan to do that, but I imagine that will be revealed later as more details are ironed out)

So, anyways, we’ll see what happens with that

Insects don't scare me anymore.

I'm laying here in bed trying to get at least an hour of sleep (insomnia's bad tonight - today?) I shift and guess what I feel?

Creepy crawly little legs under my arm. It was a roach, one of the male dubias from a tank a few feet away.

I dunno how he escaped but lemme tell you, I didn't jump or even flinch. I sat up, looked down at him, and asked him "what do you think you're doing mister?" then I picked him up and set him back down in the tank.

Do you think that mice do better in terrariums or cages? I've been looking into dubiaroaches 4x2x2 but I also see you've modified critter nations, and was curious if you thought one would be better than the other. I'm leaning towards terrariums because escaping would be a death sentence in my house, but I want to hear more opinions.

I honestly think that both can make amazing enclosures!

I currently have my girls in a modified storage bin, but I did really love my critter nation. Mainly because it made it SO easy to hang climbing enrichment. But you could use zip ties and command hooks to hang climbing enrichment in a smooth sided enclosure! Sand the sides of the enclosure a bit to create more texture for the command hooks to grip.

I think a dubia enclosure could make an awesome mouse house. I actually almost used the extra 4x2x2 dubia that I had for that exact purpose but ended up deciding Freak would use it more.

You will want to add a deeper substrate barrier to the dubia as the ones they come with are pretty shallow, but I think they added an option to order a deeper barrier now? I can’t remember. Or just get a piece of plexiglass/acrylic cut at your local hardware store :)

I’d also recommend getting showcase locks or child safety cabinet locks for the enclosure so that you can ensure you don’t accidentally leave it a little bit open and end up with escapes. Having to put on a lock every time just adds an extra layer of protection for your brain to make sure the doors are fully shut and not just Mostly slid shut.
