||Forget Me Not - Wilbur||

{Not accurate to DSMP lore but I was inspired} Song: Elsa's Song - The Amazing Devil Fandom: DSMP

As the smoke settles around the now exposed bunker, the blonde's ears still ringing but that isn't what he's worried about. His head tilted over as he cradled the younger brunette. His son. 

His son, whose spark is fading in his eyes yet he still is smiling. 

His blood-stained hand reaches for the older face as a hum begins to form. "I can hear the cannons calling as though across a dream." The blonde leans into the hand, tears falling off his face. "And I can smell the smoke of hell in every stitch and seam." A smile formed on his paling face. Not long before his raised arm begins to fall to his side, feeling weaker by the second he focuses on speaking."And like flowers, the bodies tumble around this muddied lot." Phil slowly lets his son's head rest against the floor as his eyes close, still singing.

Philza moves to hold his son's stomach as the sword stands tall, being held between his ribs. "I cannot hear them scream, "Forget me not." He whispers as he slowly passes. 

- "Your voice it carries over," The yellow sunset panning over the duo's face as they sat along the wall. "The hubbub and the hum." Tommy looks to Wilbur with a bright smile on his face, before the battle. 

Two crows circle in the sky, foretelling the doom that awaits. "And it paints the sky and circles high like the beating of a drum." As a feather floats past, Wilbur looks down at his hat with an uneasy look.  Tommy with a cocky smile leans against the leader with his arms over his head. "You will scream, "I won't forget you,"" The older looks and smiles at the younger's cheerful demeanor. "But I'll cover my cold ears." His smile leaving faster than it stayed. The darkening sky ushered the two to get inside. "It cannot be a lie if no one hears." Finally putting his hat upon his head it flashes to his revival. 

- There stood the brunette, a streak of white now in his hair. "Cos although you say good day to me, I know I don't belong." The loud blonde reaches out to grab his hand, both of their hands covered in bruises and bandages.

"And although you hold my hand" His hand turns into a fist as paranoia kicks in, eyes wide. "And say, "I love you,"" He snatches his hand out of Tommy's grasp. "You are wrong!" Grabbing the boys shirt. Wilbur's tear stained face stares him down. "Because love does not exist here, in this garden, there's no feeling." He releases the red and white shirt as he turns to leave. A worried and scared expression plastered all over Tommy's face. 

As the brunette faces away "And you say the words so often that I BARELY know the meaning." Tommy looks down at the floor as guilt sets in. -

"And before I go, Tommy. Don't trust those Americans." "Tommy I'm going home!"-  The pale blue sky surrounds him as he places a hand over his heart. "And when all the flowers are rotten and all the cannons shot." A patch of blood forming on his shirt and smothering his hand. He gets to his knees and lays down. "I'll scream, but you won't hear, "forget me not."" As he takes a breath lying down, he takes his final breath in peace and at home.

"And in years to come you'll wander to the place up on our hill," Looking to the world, like a man on a mission. The boy tries to hold in all the tears until he makes it to L'mantree. "And then you'll cry to our painted sky," A stream flows down the boys face as he sobs out,  "I loved him then, I love him still!" His chest rises with pain. He takes a breath as he looks down. "And you'll strew some sage and lilies and roses where I rot."

A strong breeze hits the boy as his shirt and hair swayed. "Of all the flowers you picked." As if Wilbur was there, watching in the after  life. He stands behind Tommy, rustling his hair with the wind. "I knew you would forget." "Tommy, take your time. I'll see you on the other side"

And just like that, he was gone.

"Forget me not."
