Reader is all for kissing Jamie’s freckles.

And she’s not much of a pda girl, but in the bar after having a few, all she can do is grab his face and place the softest kisses on his skin.

His teammates are teasing him about it, laughing from their spot at their table.

Jamie blushes while holding her wrists, knowing he looks very much whipped for the drunken girl in front of him.

Yet, he’s laughing when he says she’s ruining his reputation, and he can’t bring himself to say no when she asks “one more?”

i literally melted into a puddle after reading this. it’s so cute 😭

reader probably does this all the time to jamie in private so he’s not too phased by it. but in public, he’d be a blushing mess & try to get reader to stop kissing his face as he’s giggling

in this particular instance, reader was dragged to a bar with jamie (post-trade) with the rest of the flyers. she’s not really adamant on drinking, but after cam york challenged her to tequila shots, reader’s already staring the redhead down, shot glasses in hand.

reader truly couldn’t remember how many shots and drinks she had consumed. she stopped counting after cam tapped out, looking sick to his stomach from all the tequila shots he downed.

afterwards, reader had most likely sat down in the seat her boyfriend previously occupied before he went to the bathroom. other girlfriends and wives of the players had accompanied reader in their own private small talk while their husbands or boyfriends continued to chat and drink.

reader wasn’t paying much attention to what was being discussed, focused on trying to spot jamie amongst the crowd of dancing individuals. the only reason she found him was due to his backwards cap, the unique color catching her eye as he walked towards his teammates.

“jimmy!” reader slurred, throwing herself into his stride, nearly causing him to fall off balance as he practically caught her in his arms. “i missed you, j. what took you so long?”.

he’d let out a small breath before tightening his arms around the readers waist, “i was gone for five minutes, babe. that’s not too long”.

reader only scoffed and pouted, “that’s, like, an hour though!”.

and the two of them would just stand there as reader continued to complain about how long it seemed without having jamie there to keep her company. jamie would chuckle from time to time and promise to keep his next bathroom break short for her sake. and she’d interrupt whatever she was saying with silence, staring at jamie’s prominent freckles, eyes darting from one to another.

he’d blush under readers gaze, not knowing why she’s staring at him so intensely.

and before jamie could question her, reader would reach up and start placing delicate kisses on each freckle, being as gentle as she could.

“so pretty”, she’d whisper against his pale, freckled skin before moving on to the others and bestowing kisses and sweet words to the constellation of freckles.

jamie would giggle a little, reader’s hair softly grazing his cheeks, tickling him.

he’d try to hide his face in her neck causing reader to gently grab his face with her hands so she could continue to show his freckles her appreciation.

“stop!” he’d whine, arms still wrapped around readers waist as he tried to fight her affection.

“but, you’re so pretty, jamie! your freckles are so cute. they’re like little stars!” reader would exclaim, kissing the freckles by his temples.

he’d eventually give up his fight and let reader brush his face with kisses, hands softly rubbing her back as they stood there.

at this point, many of jamie’s teammates take notice of his predicament, laughing and chuckling to themselves as they watched his girlfriend press kisses to his face.

cam would definitely be the first one to tease him from where he is, talking about how whipped he is and how he’s such a teddy bear. others would join in and make smooching noises, causing jamie’s cheeks to redden.

eventually, his hands move up to grab reader’s wrists to gently pull her away from his face.

“you’re putting a dent in my reputation, baby” jamie breathed, a small smile on his face. “the boys will never let me live this down”.

but reader only pouted and slumped a little, still drunk and adamant on showing her love for her boyfriends beloved freckles.

“one more? please. i’ll stop after that,” reader pleaded, eyes nearly tearing up at the fact that she may not be able to display her deep rooted affection for her boyfriend.

jamie could only huff out a breath and nodded, hands letting go of readers wrists as she continues to lay more kisses across his face, a wide smile now gracing his lips.

because who is jamie to deny his lovely and beautiful girlfriend?

note(s): i was so distraught when i found out. i had to find out through tiktok of all places 😭. i feel like it’d be a little surreal in the moment & everyone would be caught off guard. this will specifically be set during mom!reader & dad!eklund era (i know he found out while he was with zetterlund, but i wrote a majority of this before finding that out. i’ll probably write an alternative to that!)

William had excused himself from the dining table, the phone in his pocket frantically buzzing and dinging.

The look you shot him as you gathered food onto your son’s plate is what caused him to answer it immediately. He usually leaves it in your shared room for dinner time, so it was a bit of annoyance when it started blowing up like crazy.

A smile spread across William’s lips as he saw the familiar contact name for Fabian Zetterlund—Zetty.

“Tell Zetter I say hi,” you piqued, your husbands smile a dead giveaway to who was trying to call him. “Don’t be too long. Your dinner will get cold”.

William shot you a soft smile before kissing the tops of you and your sons head and heading off into the backyard, gently closing the sliding glass door behind him.

You had been too busy plating you and your son’s food and talking to him to realize the somber look on William’s face as he talked on the phone outside. Him and Fabian’s calls tend to last some time so you took it upon yourself to begin eating, aiding your son in cutting up the difficult to chew bits.

When William finally entered the house again, you felt the shift.

His shoulders were slumped over and his eyes were slightly red, a sign of tears to come. His hair was also a mess, most likely from him running his fingers through it too much.

He hadn’t said anything when he walked back in, sliding back into his usual spot at the dinner table with a sad look on his face.

Your heart dropped when you realized it was Friday—the day of the trade deadline. You sincerely hoped that it wasn’t what you thought it was.

“What’s wrong?” You softly asked, hand gently resting on your husband’s shoulder. Your other hand went to smooth down the unruly parts of his hair, trying your best to comfort him.

William didn’t say anything as he turned his head to look at you. Your fear being proven right when a tear slid down the soft cheek of your partner.

“Oh, honey. I’m so sorry,” you whispered, gently bringing him into your embrace, lips placing kisses on his cheek and forehead.

“What’s wrong, Papa?” Oskar asked, puzzled as to why his Father seemed sad after just talking to the boys Uncle.

“It’s a bit complicated, Ossie,” you replied, grip gentle yet unwavering as William rested in your arms.

A few minutes of silence passed, Oskar climbing out of his seat to plop himself into his Fathers lap, tiny arms wrapping around his shoulders.

“Uncle Zetty is going away for a while,” William finally answered, tears still streaming down his face as he had one arm wrapped around you and the other around his son. “Something came up with the team and they thought it best to have him go somewhere else for a bit”.

The look on your son’s face wanted to make you cry too. Poor Oskar looked so confused and sad. What do you mean Uncle Zetty won’t visit his favorite godson anymore?

“How long?” Oskar mumbled, quickly wiping his own tears from his cheeks.

“For a long time, buddy,” you answered, William too choked up to properly answer.

A frown overtook your features as your son nodded and put his head on William’s shoulder, wiping away his Father’s tears.

“He’ll still visit right?” He asked, tone clearly laced in sadness and confusion.

“Of course, mitt hjärta (my heart),” William replied, the hand holding him going up to rest on his son’s head. “He told me he can’t wait for summer. That we should all go to Sweden together”.

That information split your heart in two. The three of you had talked on multiple occasions about going to visit both of the players place of origin, but it seemed bittersweet now that Fabian was no longer going to be apart of the Sharks. It all seemed too surreal to be happening.

“Really? I hope so. I like hanging out with Uncle Zett,” Oskar muttered, still clearly processing.

William only hummed in response, placing a kiss to his son’s matching unruly hair.

The two of you knew this transition was going to be tough. Fabian had been apart of your shared life for only a short amount of time. But to William, he felt like he’d known Fabian for more than a handful of years. He just wished he had more time.

As silence settled over your family, you knew that you were going to be the one to be picking up the pieces for a while. But you didn’t mind. You couldn’t imagine going through something like this—losing your closest friend because of something that was out of everyone’s control. You just hoped that, for William’s sake, he’d come out stronger in the end.

It was William’s favorite part of the day—waking up his little Oskar.

Oskar was much like his Mother in the way he slept. They both were heavy sleepers. But only awoke when William roused them awake. So, it was William’s duty to wake his wife up first and then their son every morning.

But this morning, he took it upon himself to let you sleep in. Something you most definitely deserved after having to take care of your rambunctious son during William’s long roadie.

“God morgon, mitt hjärta (Good morning, my heart),” William whispered, large hands coming up to rest on the back of his sleeping son. “It’s time to get up”.

A small whine escaped Oskar’s lips, trying to bury himself deeper into the soft pillow his head rested on.

“Nej, Pappa (No, Papa),” Oskar mumbled, sleep lacing his voice. “I sleep. No get up”.

The older Eklund man shook his head and smiled, dominant hand going up to ruffle his son’s unruly blond hair—something Oskar inherited from him.

“I thought you wanted to make mama some breakfast in bed this morning,” William mumbled, reminding his son of his promise to help him make you breakfast in bed. “I was going to let you make the pancakes, buddy”.

At the mention of pancakes, Oskar jolts up, eyes halfway open as he desperately tries to fight the sleep from his body. The one thing that Oskar loved in the morning was pancakes, especially when he got to help make them.

“I up,” the little boy mumbled, a yawn overtaking his features at the end of his statement. “Pancakes for Mama and me?”.

William hummed in agreement, picking up his son, running his fingers through his hair in an attempt to tame his curls. “Of course, buddy. All the pancakes in the world for you and Mama”.

Oskar seemed to wake up even more after that, arms wrapped around his Father’s neck as William walked the two of them down the stairs to the kitchen as quietly as he could.

“What do you think, chocolate chip or blueberry pancakes?” William asked his son, gently placing him on the counter as he went to retrieve one of the many chairs surrounding the dining table.

Oskar pretended to think, forefinger tapping against his chin as his little feet swung back and forth, eyebrows furrowed in pretend thought. “Hmm, chocolate chip!”.

William smiled. “Chocolate chip it is!”.

As William placed the chair up against the counter, Oskar carefully stepped onto the soft cushion, clothed stomach making contact with the cold stone. His tiny hands settled themselves on the cool surface, eyes following his Father as William danced across the kitchen gathering all of the ingredients for your breakfast in bed.

An hour had passed and everything was cooked and delicately placed on plates. Oskar managed to sneak a pancake or two behind his Fathers back, nibbling on the soft food every so often.

William had designated the duty of carrying your favorite drink up to your shared room to your son. Oskar stuck his tongue out in focus, trying not to spill the liquid all over the stairs.

As soon as the two entered the room and Oskar managed to place the glass on your dresser side without anything spilling, he jumped onto the bed and snuggled into your chest, rousing you from your slumber.

“Morning, Mama!” Oskar shrieked, lightly jumping up and down on the soft comforter. “We made you breakfast!”.

A wide smile broke out on your face, pulling your son into your arms as you tickled his face with kisses. His giggles were high pitched as he shrieked from the ticklish sensation.

“Morning, älskling (darling/beloved),” William spoke, gently setting down the tray of food by the end of the bed, kissing the crown of your head as he did so. “Surprised?”.

“Very much so,” you replied, pressing a kiss to the corner of your husbands lips. “Thank you. Both of you”.

“ ‘Course, Mama! Papa said you needed it,” Oskar piqued, tiny hands already reaching for the bowl of fruit on the tray.

“Ah!” William said, gently grabbing his son’s hand before he could grab any fruit. “Mama should get the first bite. I already saw you have two pancakes, lilla en (little one)”.

Oskar pouted a little, nodding his head as he dropped his hand from the bowl.

“How about we all take the first bite, hmm?” You suggested, bringing Oskar closer into your embrace.

The little boy looked over to William for approval, a small nod from his Father signaled that it was alright.

Oskar reached out to the bowl of fruit and grabbed two strawberries, one for you and one for him. William grabbed his own strawberry, popping it into his mouth at the same time you and Oskar did, dimples popping out as he smiled at the two most important people in his life.

The rest of the day was spent in bed resting and napping, William’s arms wrapped around his two reasons for breathing.

— he always asks if the three of you could take his pregame nap with him just so he could have the reader & his daughter close to him before he has to leave

— he’s such a gentle giant w/ her & lets her climb him like a monkey without complaint

— whenever he’s home, she demands for jamie to play w/ her & he’s immediately following her into the corner of the living room where all of her toys are

— is the one to put him to bed & read him a bedtime story. you always catch luke fast asleep on your sons tiny bed, his hand unconsciously rubbing the boys small back

— luke may not be the first person to wake up in the morning but he’s usually the one to keep your son busy while the reader makes breakfast or takes care of herself in the morning

— during the summer, your son tends to burn more than you or luke so luke kind of goes overboard on the sunscreen & makes sure that he has a rash guard on for extra protection. puts a towel over him too on the boat if luke notices that his son is even a little red

— ^ throws his son into the lake all the time. he always asks for it too, practically climbing up luke as he begs for him to throw him into the water. his giggles always bring a smile to both of your faces as he shouts “again! again!”

— luke likes to gather the both of you into his arms & guide you guys into bed for his pregame naps. it’s usually luke, your son, & then you all cuddled together but sometimes it’s luke spooning you while you hold your son. it’s a cute sight

TREVOR ZEGRAS

— off the walls ecstatic to have a son that can match his energy

— this man is so happy to have a mini him it’s crazy

— loves running around with his & creating games for him to play

— def gets him into sports very early on & not just hockey. trev signs him up for soccer, basketball, baseball, golf, etc.

— he also sometimes just carries him or dangle him by his legs to “shake” out all the energy his son has before bedtime. it’s something that his parents used to do to him when he was younger & it seemed to work & help him so now he does it to his son too

— loves to post on his instagram story about their play times & adventures. it’s so sickeningly cute

— if his son were to scream out of nowhere randomly, then so will trevor. if his son just gets up & starts running out of nowhere, trevor will follow right after

Thinking about Jamie shamelessly giving away love reader never even expected.

Maybe her last relationship wasn’t the best, almost two years of shouting and screaming, being blamed for everything, harsh touches that bruised her skin, first instinct always being to throw the nearest object around just to keep him away from her. And now two years later, she’s still not sure on how to act inside an actual loving relationship.

She’s blown away by everything Jamie does, every little act of love, every soft lingering touch, every sweet reassuring word. And he’s even more blown away she hasn’t been treated like this before.

He had no idea of why, until one night while tracing his fingers on her back, he feels a deep scar. He asks how she got it, thinking it would be from a funny childhood memory, maybe falling out of a three or something. Only for her to whisper “Oh, that’s from my ex… sorry.”. He stops so suddenly she’s scared he’s mad, but when he pull his face away from her shoulder she can see there’s nothing but worry in his heart right now.

The night is spent with lots of explaining, painful memories, ‘sorry’s and ‘don’t apologize, it wasn’t your fault’s. Now every touch is extra tender, every act and favor means so much more, every intention of just generally being a good boyfriend is replaced by the want of showing her how much she should’ve been loved.

Jamie could buy her every bouquet in the word, tell her compliments until he’s out of breath, show her off at any opportunity he gets, and he’d still want to give her more. Out of pure enjoyment, from just knowing she deserves it. He’s never letting her get away, he’ll make sure she’ll never be hurt again — not by him, not by anyone else.

he’d be gentle before finding out. he’d treat reader so good that she’d cry after he left her apartment or dropped her off after date night. she’d never been treated in such a way before & that itself healed a part of herself.

jamie’s so gentle touching reader & holding her. he likes to run his fingers through her hair & braid it. he always asks to touch her if he senses she’s being a bit iffy with physical touch. he always asks “a penny for your thoughts” whenever reader gets too into her head.

he thought it wasn’t his place to ask what happened before in her prior relationship(s), so he doesn’t. he figures that once she trusts him enough, she’ll tell him.

the night jamie discovered the healed, puffy scar on readers back, he doesn’t think twice to ask her about where it came from, teasing her about the possible childhood accident that caused it. he probably laid a kiss on her shoulder after asking, just inches away from the scar.

readers tank top exposed the scar just slightly. basically being unnoticeable in any other setting if her shirt wasn’t all askew from her moving into the current position she was in.

“oh, it’s just something from my ex,” reader murmured, face halfway buried into the pillow. “sorry about not covering it up. tonight’s a bit warm”.

readers reply made jamie’s heart stopped, his lips still against her bare shoulder.

“what?” he’d ask, dark eyebrows furrowed in confusion. what have they done to leave a scar like this on reader?

the scar was puffy from the scar tissue and a little jagged. like a piece of broken glass had been embedded into reader’s skin only to be pulled down.

“are you okay? it looks like it was a pretty serious injury,” jamie commented, frown settling onto his face.

his fingertips gently ran over the expanse of readers skin as she laid front first in their bed.

“yeah,” she answered, face moving towards jamie’s as she now propped herself up on her elbows. “they were nice to me at first. until, they weren’t. it was hard to leave. we’d have so many good days that i thought those made up for the bad ones. eventually everything became too much and i left. but before i could get through the door, he threw an empty vase at me”.

“i didn’t realize some of the broken glass had cut me. i had to go to the hospital to get the bigger pieces removed since they were too deep to get out myself”.

“i stayed for too long. i thought they loved me and that was their way of showing they cared. but i realized that’s not how someone treats the person they’re in love with”.

jamie’s lips end up finding the puffy scar, gently kissing it as reader speaks. his lips travel from the scar to the end of her shoulder back up to the back of her ear. hands brush away the stray hairs that get in the way of her eyes.

he couldn’t imagine anyone treating anyone, let alone reader, like that. whoever reader was with was someone who was vile & ugly on the inside. no one should be treated like that.

“i feel safer with you than i have with anyone else in years,” reader piques, hand going up to cup jamie’s cheek. “i trust you, with everything i have”.

the whispered words make jamie want to cry. his heart hurts for reader & what reader went through. he makes a silent promise that night to treat reader with nothing but gentle hands & soft words for the rest of their shared life.

everytime jamie sees the scar, he makes sure to gently kiss it & remind reader of how much he loves her.

i feel like he’d be a very sweet & understanding dad. very gentle & super patient

upon first finding out about reader’s pregnancy, william is off the walls excited. already planning matching outfits & the kinds of skates to get them once they’re able to walk confidently on their own.

i also feel like he’d have a night routine where he talks to reader’s belly about his day, informing their child about what william did & who he saw & what he ate, etc.. dude would also be obsessed with the bump! instinctively wrapping his arm/hand around it as reader & him sleep.

once the child comes, he’s over the moon in adoration.

he’d whisper swedish phrases to the child as he rocks them to sleep, his pointer finger gently brushing the slope of their tiny button nose.

he’d take most of the night shifts so reader can get some well deserved rest.

a smile is always on his face whenever he sees the baby, cooing gently as them as he tickles their belly.

their room is decorated to the nines. all kinds of creatures paint the walls, swirling around from the base boards to the ceiling. the most noticeable animal is a shark—painted right behind the white crib.

shark stuffies are placed in one corner of the crib, all from fans & teammates alike.

he already ordered a custom jersey for them—his number on the back with the word daddy above. william has probably ordered multiple just in case the baby grows quicker than expected.

he loves to hold & cradle them. everything feels much more real when he holds his child close to his heart.

william loves tummy time. he’ll lay on his stomach in front of them & make goofy faces as they play with the toys around them, softly giggling.

he cries at every birthday celebrated & milestone achieved. they start walking? tears. first word is mama? sobbing. second word is dada? choked up. turns a year old? openly weeping. turning five? an utter mess. won first sports game? wailing. william will cry any chance he gets when it comes to his baby growing up & living life.

is NOT excited for when they start their first day of school.

william’s super slow to get ready in the morning, nearly making all of you late to drop off. doesn’t eat breakfast because he can’t stomach the thought of his baby being away from him at some strange place for even a second. takes his sweet time buckling in his munchkin. reader drives because she knows william WILL take the long way. he’s holding back tears as he hugs his baby one last time before saying goodbye & seeing them skip off to their new teacher. reader consoles him in the car for ten minutes afterwards.

is THE #1 team dad hands down. no matter what sport they end up playing, william is there every game with snacks & goodie bags for every player. & even if they don’t do sports, william will still make his baby & their friends snacks for studying or hanging out.

he’s very affectionate, so he’ll kiss his baby on the forehead as a good morning. he’ll embrace them in a hug before they leave to go wherever & when they return home. always says i love you no matter what.

always encourages his kid to do everything with a head held high & a heart full of love. that they can do anything they put their mind to. they can achieve anything their heart desires.

has the biggest smile on his face whenever they attend games with reader. always gives them a warm up puck & if he managed to score a goal or more that game, they’re all reserved for his baby.

is the listener between him & reader whenever their child is angry, upset, or going through a rough time. he’ll sit with them for however long until they feel better.

i can definitely see him as a one child dad, but he’d probably want them to have siblings so i can also see him having 3-4 kids. treats all of them the same—with all the love within his heart.

i literally could not stop cackling when percy asks if reader & luke are engaged. poor boy seemed so confused when reader said no & genuinely didn’t know the rule of thumb when throwing an apple 😭

specifically these parts: “I guess congratulations are in order?” Percy spoke up as you lined up for food the following day. […] “You’re engaged?” you almost dropped your plate at that and gave the son of Poseidon a questioning look. “You proposed to Luke like a week ago?” […] “Uh, in Ancient Greek culture, it’s considered a marriage proposal if a man throws an apple at a lady. the way luke just took this as an opportunity & RAN with it is hilarious

the way that luke is so enamored with the reader is so refreshing bc in most fanfics (at least in my opinion) you don’t get that aspect as much

the paint subject/scene was written so beautifully. i liked how you wrote both of their aspects & how reader saw it as something embarrassing while luke saw it as something cute & so uniquely (y/n) that he had a whole thing planned out to tell them it was cute & wipe it off their cheek as he did so

the part where he says he only wants reader after they try to tell them that he has so many other options pining after him so why should he like them, was also written beautifully. my heart warmed at that interaction

Thinking about Jamie and Z (pre trade obv) having to live with reader for a little while (maybe there’s a leak or infestation at their place, idk) and while having her bf over has been and always will be a pleasure, she learns that his roommate is an actual MENACE.

Like Trevor knows nothing about basic food safety (cross contamination, danger zone… ). He will literally but pots, pans and containers with no lid on the fridge.

It gets to a point that he is not only banned from her kitchen, but even after they move back into their place reader asks “who cooked it” every time they offer food to her. She does not trust Trevor’s cooking AT ALL.

reader would be absolutely LIVID to see an actual pan of food, uncovered in her fridge. like what the actual fuck

babes knows that jamie would never & she doesn’t do that so the obvious culprit is trevor. she mentions it in passing during dinner one night & he promises to not do it again, only to do it again the following day

reader writes a note on her fridge to cover all containers, etc. that is put into the fridge. if not, then she’ll throw it out or put the container of food into whoever’s room is the culprit (trev did in fact learn the hard way)

i feel like trevor would genuinely not understand what’s the problem. like due to him being away from home all the time doing hockey & mainly having his focus be on hockey, he didn’t learn much kitchen/cooking etiquette—which is where you have your problem.

reader has to sit him down & list out all the basic rules in the kitchen & regarding cooking. like, for example, you have to wash your hands every time you handle raw food or are dealing with multiple different types of dishes. he did not know this fact & tried to help reader make cookies one time & touched the cookie dough without washing his hands. reader promptly kicked him out the kitchen after that & had to make a whole new set of cookie dough.

there have been a few times where trevor almost sets the kitchen on fire from burning something in the microwave or on the stove. he was promptly banned from even thinking about cooking in reader’s kitchen.

he genuinely does try to be cautious & wary of what he should & shouldn’t do in the kitchen while at the readers home.

though even with his efforts, he can’t help but fall back into old habits at times.

reader does make it rule that trev is banned from cooking in the kitchen & that, even though she does not want to, she will put away his food for him since he keeps repeating the same mistakes.

he does feel bad because, i mean, who wouldn’t?

when jamie & trevor do finally leave, reader literally celebrates the night they leave. don’t get her wrong, she loves her boyfriend deeply, but god, his roommate is a MESS in the kitchen.

the few times jamie comes over with an already made dish, reader always asks who made it to ensure that if trevor did, she’s either ordering in or already whipping up something else for her to eat.

she trusts trevor, but not when it comes to his cooking.
