Cross and Nightmare, Hurt/Comfort

Again wanted to state these ideas are free use, I don’t care if you change the characters or the fandom or whatever else you do with it. Just have fun with it :) have a great day

Cross is new to Nightmare’s gang and Nightmare has been sensing a lot of negative emotions from Cross. So one evening when the emotions were particularly strong Nightmare walks to Cross’s room and confronts him about it.

“Good evening Cross. May I come in? I just wish to speak, that’s all.” He says already sensing the other’s fear. Nightmare doesn’t sugarcoat it and gets straight to the point.

“It doesn’t feel as though you're happy here…” Cross immediately panics and tears fill his sockets as he messily rushes to explain.

Nightmare simply stops him and tells him he doesn’t have to be here if he doesn’t want to. That he would never force Cross to do anything he didn’t want to. However, he misread the whole situation.

Cross looks down, his chest shakes but before Nightmare can speak up Cross lets out a sob and very quietly he begs “Please don’t leave me.”

His chest was shaking hard now, jostling the bed. Nightmare is taken back but hugs Cross. The other for the first time didn’t shy away, Cross wrapped his arms around Nightmare and sobbed openly into his jacket. Nightmare was in shock but held him and comforted him anyway.

Once the crying stopped Cross pulled back wiping his tears and apologizing guiltily.

“There is absolutely nothing you have to be sorry for. Would you like to talk about it with me or maybe the others?”

Cross doesn’t answer rubbing his warm anxiously, hesitating before explaining.

He doesn’t think he belongs or deserves to live in the castle. And his reasoning was even worse ‘You all are too nice to me and I don’t deserve it.’ But he said he was also scared of leaving because he has a fear of being alone or being left.

Nightmare first thanks him and tells him he did well about opening up. Then he addresses the cognitive distortions. Cross ends up crying a few more times, not that Nightmare minded. A good meal and he gets to help one of his boys.

“Unfortunately, these things take time Cross. However, these thoughts can be fixed and I’ll be with you helping you the whole way.”

Cross hugs and thanks him, before again trying to apologize which Nightmare didn’t accept.

Nightmare and Cross talk more, and Cross finally opens up about things he likes and dislikes. He was even making jokes by the end. Little did Cross know three rag-tag skeletons listened through the door. All slightly agreeing they would help him too, before running off and ‘acting normal’. Even though Nightmare could sense them.

“Just like all my boys, if you need me no matter what I will be there for you. You are safe now Cross, allow yourself to be happy. You deserve it.” Nightmare tells him on his way out.

“If you need me I will be in my office, Sleep well Cross.”

Killer absolutely listens to Rock and indie/ alternative rock, such as Sub Urban, Burn the ballroom, Pink Floyd, or (and i’ll die on this hill) Will Wood, or he listens to musicals such as the Epic Musical, Ride the Cyclone Musical and the Miracle Musical (he absolutely listens to Jojo’s bizarre adventure music too chchch)

Nightmare either listens to classical music like a basic bitch or listens to beautiful old jazz gems like “what a wonderful world” and “La vie en rose” by Louis Armstrong, “we’ll meet again” by Vera lynn, “Heartaches” by Al Bowlly, “put on your Sunday clothes” by Barbra Streisand, or “I’ll never smile again” by Tommy Drosey

I like to think Dust loves listening to those Alternative/indie nostalgic yet somewhat creepy quiet music such as “Repressed” by i don’t like mirrors, and “Goodnight dad I love you” by Wishing, and “you smell like dead flowers” by vslush_, either that or he listens to Korean songs such as “Villain” by Stella Jang, and “Drunk-Dazed” by ENHYPEN

Horror absolutely listens to Pop music!! But not any Pop groups/artists, cause he absolutely listens to masters like Abba and Michael Jackson, i can imagine him listening to songs like “Crucified” by Army of Lovers, “Lay your love on me” by Abba and “Virtual Insanity” by Jamiroquai

As for Error, he’s absolutely the type that just listens to his fave shows’ OSTs, but a headcanon i have that I’ll forever hold on to is the fact Error doesn’t listen to music at all <3333

Laughter filled the castle, and had been for a couple hours. The longer the drinks were brought out, the louder the gleeful sounds got, until Nightmare finally cut them off. Water only, but as a consolation he permitted them to play a few group games, without his supervision.

He knew they were less likely to try anything violent with how drunk they'd all gotten, but he was also fairly likely to come back to something less than innocent if he didn't give them something else to do.

It was Horror that had recommended Never Have I Ever, a simple game that while usually had alcoholic drinks accompanying it, was easily supplemented with weird sodas. Blue had agreed easily; surely it couldn't get too bad.

Now armed with ranch, bacon, bubblegum and other various flavored sodas, they started in almost immediately on the most hardcore things they could think of.

"Never have I ever kissed someone until they couldn't breathe!" Killer said, smirking as both Horror and Cross blinked, then took a drink, grimacing at the taste of synthetic bacon. All of them did a double take, however, when Blue also took a drink. He didn't seem to notice them all staring at him until he glanced up from his phone, his sockets widening.

"What?"

Killer shook himself out of his shock, waving a hand. "You're just a lot more kinky than we thought, Baby Blue, that's all! Your turn Dusty~"

Dust gave him a look, then signed a quick "Never have I ever spanked anyone."

This time Killer took a drink, gagging at the horrendous taste of fake bubblegum, as well as Cross. But they all stared as, once again, Blue took a drink with them.

"...Blue?" Horror asked, Blue startling as he realized they were all staring at him again with something only definable as total shock.

"What? I like impact play!"

Horror blinked, but shrugged. "Alright. My turn, I guess. Never have I ever... Used a knife on somebody."

Killer raised a brow, Horror huffing a laugh as he supplemented a "Sexually."

Dust took a drink. Killer took a drink. Blue took a drink.

And once again, they all stared. Blue stared back, perplexed through the state of being drunk off his ass, and finally said...

Horror -

I think shed have a low tolerance, but i think itd just make him realllyyyy sleepy. Just kinda sits in the corner napping. Love her sm

Cross - I think hed have a pretty average tolerance too, but a bit higher than killers. i think hed be really giggly when drunk tbh, n probably more talkative, def the most chill beside horror

I dont think shed be able to get drunk, or if they can itd need an OBSCENELY large amount of alcohol. That is not going to stop the others from trying- He'd tend to just make sure the others dont do anything too stupid while they r drunk.

T1D Reader- Halloween Party (Bad Sanses X Reader)

I was hoping to get this out yesterday but shit happens. Halloween costume probably looks like this. Honestly while doing Killer and Horror is so much fun, this time it's Dust's turn.

Note to self: never underestimate Killer's persistence. When that skeleton wants something he can be incredibly stubborn about it.

And what he wanted was for everyone to get a "day off" to celebrate Halloween. Why? You weren't sure at first until you noticed all the sexy costumes pulled up on his computer.

But you agreed to come along, if only to keep Killer out of trouble. Cross seemed to agree for a similar reason, although you weren't sure why Dust came along. Horror was staying home, which made sense. A party would probably be hell on his sensory issues.

Killer somehow managed to talk you into a fairly revealing "witch costume." You were just hoping it wouldn't be too cold in the AU you were going to, although Killer probably wouldn't register it was too cold for you.

Lazy ass usual, Dust was just using his knife as a "serial killer" costume. Killer used one of those axe headbands and (probably, hopefully) fake blood to be a "murder victim." Killer, asshole that he is, picked out a cow costume for Cross that was *immediately* denied, and the former royal guard ended up wearing a soldier costume instead that Killer complained was "so boring."

You all went to a surface AU, obviously, because monsters underground did not know about or celebrate Halloween (honestly you wondered if some monsters found the holiday insensitive.) A neutral AU, one with some tension between monsters and humans, but nothing so bad a couple monsters couldn't attend a Halloween party.

Once arriving you remembered one reason you never went to parties- alcohol. You never drank, couldn't figure out how to manage it and your diabetes. You'd heard how you behaved low was how you would act while drunk, but different sources said to bolus for it or not bolus. Some said you'd spike, others said you'd drop, it was just too unpredictable for your tastes and not worth the risks. Killer respected that, sort of, after telling him "no" several times. You... Really couldn't tell if Killer was *actually* drink or just liked acting drunk. Dust seemed to have a beer or two himself while Cross was with you in the "100% sober" category.

At least the food was good. The host had fun making "spooky" snacks that were still recognizable enough for you to dose correctly. At least it was human food, monster food still needed a whole other layer of guesstimating.

Somewhere later into the night you grabbed Dust and dragged him into a dance. Maybe the atmosphere, maybe your outfit, but something had you tired of being a wallflower and wanting to *do* something. You weren't an amazing dancer but you were at least coordinated enough to avoid tripping over yourself or Dust. It wasn't a Dancetale so your skills weren't that important anyways.

It wasn't long before Dust's face was flushed, whether from exertion or something else you weren't sure. The skeleton often kept to distance attacks in fights and teleported everywhere, so you weren't sure.

Even still, seeing him blushing made you feel... Something. You were *definitely* feeling bold tonight because before you knew it, you leaned in and kissed him.

You've kissed other humans before, but kissing a skeleton was such an incredibly different experience. Despite your lips being pressed directly to teeth, it wasn't uncomfortable at all. Honestly, it felt amazing, even more so when Dust's mouth opened slightly and oh stars okay ecto tongues felt *great.*

You both ended up off the dance floor for a rather steamy and handsy makeout session that had both of you flushed and panting afterwards. Dust grinned at you. "Wanna continue this back in my room?" You nodded eagerly.

Dust got Cross to tear a portal home for you both, although he was staying behind to make sure Killer got home eventually.

The two of you barely made it to Dust's room before he was making out with you again, tearing at your clothes with a passion and energy you hadn't seen in the lazy skeleton before. Honestly, sex with him was incredible.

And totally worth the look you got from Nightmare the next day. And the teasing from Killer.

Starring The Bad Sanses (and Ink.)

Apparently y'all really liked this idea, so here, decided to post this early cause why not.

Nightmare, the Captain

While his brother pursued the life of a folk hero and a bard, Nightmare himself wanted more out of life. From quite a young age, he began working as a pirate to explore the vast oceans and uncover buried treasure. While mostly to obtain bare necessities, Nightmare wanted to be known for conquering the seas and exploring the unknown. He wanted to be known for something big, and so he’d make himself a name by besting the dangerous and toughest challenges that were out there. Though, he did need a group of willing members to lead if he wanted to be Captain, so he set out into town in search.

Horror, the Cook/Surgeon

Horror and his brother grew up as butchers. While they lived successful, simple lives, Horror always wanted more out of it. One day after hearing about Nightmare's look for people to join him on his voyages, Horror decided this would be his chance. Papyrus, worried but proud of his brother, took care of their business while Horror became a pirate. Horror handled multiple jobs at once; Carpenter, Surgeon and Cook. He was rarely any of these besides the cook, so it was usually easy enough to handle three jobs in a row. To be truthful, Horror never had any experience with amputations, but he was able to cut meat well, so he'd probably manage.

Killer, the Quartermaster

Against Nightmare’s wishes to make Killer the Boatswain, he unwillingly made Killer the Quartermaster. He knew best about supporting others and proved to be a valuable member of their team when it came to encouragement and order ship, much to Nightmare’s low expectations. Before getting along, the two would butt heads, Nightmare explaining he didn’t need a quartermaster and that Killer was just going to drag them down, while Killer kept insisting he needed to give him a chance and have faith in someone other than himself. Killer never opened up about his past, but Nightmare found him drunk in a tavern, so he can only assume whatever life he lived may not have been the best.

Dust, the Master Gunner

Dust had grown with not much. Therefore, he had to steal to get around living similar to Nightmare in a way. He was a known criminal and thief, one not to be trusted. He worked alone and that was that. His brother died a long time ago, meaning Dust also grew up alone. After Nightmare met him, he decided that maybe this could be a chance to finally make some allies that actually cared about him, and live a better life. Though, he did have his suspicions that Nightmare would just turn him in. Thankfully this wasn’t the case. Dust surprised the group will his knowledge of weaponry and offense, making him a perfect choice for the master gunner. Killer sometimes gets on his nerves, but when has he not gotten on anyone’s bad side?

Ink, the (unwanted) Carpenter

While preparing to set sail, the group was interrupted by Ink, who was kicked out of the local tavern and wanted to join the group in their adventures. While Nightmare said no and set off without him, Ink was able to sneak onto the ship regardless. He doesn’t know what to do with Ink, but he just leaves him to help Horror as the Carpenter.

going to self indulgent here and explain why i think a specific song i placed into their playlist makes me think of them. it’s pretty long (like ten minutes) but the mental imagery always captivates me

it’s the thought of swap being alone. someone different in the face of the multiverse. bc he’s the ‘old one out’ in a (very literal) sense. there are so many variations of ‘swap’ out there. even a bastardized version that was caused by a popular series of misconceptions.

the slow pace of it up to here makes me think of swap or outer or both missing their homes. possibly missing their narrow view of the universe. missing when the world (still endlessly big) was a little smaller

to me is about swap joining/formulating the star sanses with their first multiverse friends. but the connection they NEED isn’t there. the connections theyre craving arent there. dream themself is still getting used to forming those deep connections or refuses to due to the influence of their aura and the potential codependency that may develop due to it. and ink is not looking to view these guys as more than "characters" (for his mental safety tbh)

swap possibly sorting through their feelings. he begins seeking out other friends, or places he can relax outside of his home universe. at this point he knows of error and their interests. or outertale was mentioned at some point. either way, he seeks comfort in that universe

this is swap directly communicating his feelings to outer after forming that bond. outer themself rarely left their home universe, opting to welcome monsters that visit the place. outertale is like a tourist stop in that way or at least a place frequently visited by others. it took some time for outer to move past cagey and distrustful to being more open (which isnt by much)

i met you through the television screen. i fell in love with the guy smiling at the audience. and now this love is praecox feeling. and now this love is aspect dawning

swap thinking about ink. possibly learning about ink’s ‘mentality’ and how he only sees them all as ‘characters’. swap’s idolization of dream too! believing that they had the full picture for everything.

swap saw these two as gods almost. beings higher than him. their treatment of their relationship (not deepening their bond past 'coworkers') didnt help to dissuade swap's initial idolization, causing it to snowball into something more severe and possibly toxic.

i can also see this as swap developing a crush on dream but thats pretty 'straight-from-the-lyrics' to me. and i personally view them as best friends

A Drink Too Many

“Wanna run that by me again-“ Hero asked.

“I said I want to strengthen the truce between The Star Sanses and Bad Sanses by bringing them closer!” I say with an innocent smile.

Hero pinched his nose ridge, “And to do that…..you want to take them ALL out to drink??? You know this is not going to end well…..I mean in general their teams are already barely getting along. But they are MORTAL ENEMIES. I doubt just a few drinks will-“

“Mi amor? You think too much. And since you also work too much? Take this as an opportunity to unwind for the love of your SANITY-“ I said while pulling him along.

“But I have files to do-! Dammit…..,” Hero ends up getting dragged by me anyway.

And when we go inside the room I rented however?

Utter.

Chaos.

“C’mon ol pal, I know you can go faster than that!” Ink taunted Error.

“I SWEAR IM GONNA FLING YOUR SHORT ASS OUT THE WINDOW-,” Error screeched.

Dream gulps, “H-Hello brother…..”

Nightmare chuckles darkly, “Hello brother…..I see you brought me the golden apple…..”

“Eek-! Brother no! Remember the truce! REMEMBER THE TRUCE-!” Dream had to hide behind Cross.

Let’s not even mention Dust messing with Swap, Killer and Marco pulling pranks, Rebel just either messing around or flirting- so what do I do? Blow horn into a megaphone- everyone stopped and covered their ears or held their heads.

“SIT YO ASSES DOWN-,” I shouted, “God…..listen. Here’s what’s gonna happen. We drink, we have a good time, might get drunk, and we GET. ALONG. You understand me?”

“And if we don’t? We don’t have to you do realize that…..” Nightmare said in a taunting tone. He caught the Chancla I threw at him.

“Don’t get smart with me Jackass! NONE of you are leaving until you’ve had some fun!” I huff.

Ink laughed and wrapped an arm around my shoulders (after standing on his chair to do so-), “Trust me Lisa! We’re having plenty of fun! Ow-!”

I pinch his cheek, “Having fun being a little shit? Yeah I see that.” I grab Error’s cheek too “You two are sitting together until you get along-“

Error wriggled around, “DON’T SIT ME WITH THAT PIECE OF SHIT SQUID-“ I sat them down anyway, “Shit…..” Ink was giggling with his shit eating grin but I bonk him.

“Don’t start yo shit either. And Marco sit with the Murder trio and Cross. No funny business. Rebel don’t start yo shit either or I’m getting Lust and Fresh on yo ass- And Nightmare let your brother sit with you WITHOUT scaring him-! Swap? You will be helping around as well,” I take a deep breath finally, “And waitress? You got drinks? I’ll take your entire stock- We ALL drinking tonight-“

Bunny jumped, “Lisa you can’t handle your alcohol!!!”

“I WILL TONIGHT-,” I stomp away.

XChara sighs, “……We’re gonna have a rough night huh? Watching these idiots.”

“Yup,” Bunny says, “And unfortunately I gotta do it with you.” She walks away, leaving XChara to process that and shout a loud and offended ‘Hey-!’

Some time went by and everyone was finally unwinding. And I was not slowing down in my drinking- some of the guys were already getting drunk.

Ink was hugging me and giggling nonstop, “This really is fuuuuun! Thanks for the idea Lisa!”

I was suddenly yoinked back via wires, Error huffed, “Hands off the chocolate supply!”

Nightmare suddenly slams the table, making us jump as he suddenly yoinked me away with his tentacles, “You fools…..she’s MINE.”

Small squeak of literal fear, “Help meeeeeee-!”

“I-I’ll help!!! Brother please let her go-!” Dream said, prying at the tentacles.

But Nightmare was too drunk to care, having me near him just to piss off Ink and Error and laugh like a maniac. I definitely need more drinks after this- Hero eventually comes around to help, though it was a struggle. I went to get more drinks, running off before the three got me again.

Hero went to check on the others, “Is everyone alright here too? ……I hope-?”

Hopefully Marco and Rebel are doing better.

Okay, it's really time for me to come back to doing stuff with Undertale, don't you worry followers, I'm still infatuated with it.

Anyway, I really feel like doing some headcanons about Bad Sanses with alcohol beeeecause why nooot and because they're found family. Or poly, whatever you prefer. Aaaa:

Nightmare: He is actually pretty much in the middle with everything. He needs some alcohol to get drunk, one beer won't work on him for example. But a whole one bottle of wine? Yup, that will. He got dared by Dust once to do it and my man was wobbly as hell after. You bet his inhibitions mostly disappear and he's quite vocal about his love for the rest. However, it's also much easier to irritate him, the plus is that due to his lowered coordination he realistically won't do anything with it, no matter how much he wants to. He also gets really easy and short hangovers and, the lucky bastard. He flexes that :O.

Cross: He's not a fan of losing control like that, so he doesn't drink a lot or often. Because of that it's easy for him to get drunk on only small amount. However, at the same time, for whatever reason, he can drink almost anything without complaining about the taste or even frowning and wincing. When he's properly drunk he gets really giggly and loves teasing others about the stupidest things, the cute lad. He has horrible hangovers though and really needs to be left alone until he gets better.

Horror: my beloved, I mean, he actually likes drinking every now and then, however, he needs something stronger, anything mild just doesn't work on him. Contrary to Cross, he likes the loss of control that comes with it, not to mention the relaxation. He can worry quite a lot so the break is nice. Surprisingly though, alcohol makes him rather angsty, not at others (though that's possible too), but it just wakes up some beast within him. In other words, don't mess with him when he's intoxicated. He also gets really protective of the rest of them, his tall height adding to that urge quite a bit.

Error: the first few times he was really apprehensive about drinking any amount of anything. It took some time for him to stop being anxious about it. The others didn't force him into anything, but he both wanted to prove them and himself that he could do it, so he started small and gradually went bigger. Once he got used to alcohol however, everyone pretty much had to keep a close eye on him, because once he truly discovered how relaxed he gets when drunk, he craved it all the time. He's quite a lightweight too, but it weirdly changes. He blames it on his glitchy nature. Similarly, his hangovers are very varied, once he can get a massive one after drinkng one beer, other times he drinks many, many shots of vodka and he's completely okay the next day.

Dusty I mean Dust: he feels such an urge to fight everyone and everything while intoxicated, be it physically or mentally, it's hilarious. He's almost the complete opposite of his usual quiet self, he has to be physically held down by someone, usually by Horror or Nightmare's tentacle, unless it is advantegous somehow of course. But that also adds to being extremely reckless and lacking self-preservation in any form. He will also sometimes throw things off the furniture just to be an asshole. Basically, he's loud. Like Nightmare he's neither easy nor hard to get drunk.

Killer: Alcohol actually relaxes him more than doing anything else. He doesn't get loud or more energetic or anything, he's just rather quiet, half laying on the couch with the laziest grin on his face. Sometimes he's more in his head than with everyone else during those moments. But he might also require some attention sometimes, not much, but he can't be left alone, that's for sure. He's honestly just chilling with an occasional burst of laughter for no reason.
