The Heathers decided to leave the party a little earlier, taking you along with them. You were Heather Chandler's girlfriend and had been for a while now. You weren't overly close to the other Heathers or Veronica, but you hanged out with them. Getting along for the most part. Heather D was a different story. She didn't like you, but then again Heather didn't like anybody. In fact you weren't sure there was a single person she did genuinely like. So you never took it to heart. Knowing that that was just the way she was. Besides, Heather Chandler liked you. That's all that really mattered anyway, isn't it? As long as you're on the Demon Queen of Highschool's good side.
Heather usually didn't hold your hand or do much with you in public, unless she was drunk, but you didn't mind that. You kept close, walking with her and the others to her car. You were the most sober, barely having had anything. Which meant you were the driver. Plus, you were the only other one Heather trusted to drive her car. Privileges, right?
You got everyone home. Taking Heather Chandler last. You got her inside, then undressed and showered. Helping her sober up a bit. Heather let you take care of her, very little complaints about it leaving her. Soon enough you had her in her silk robe, laying in bed and looking at you fondly. Heather crooked a finger, beckoning you closer.
"C'mere.." Heather muttered, you got on the bed and curled up with her. Head rested on Heather's chest. She stroked your hair. She was softer with you behind closed doors. Because she did genuinely love you, as much as Heather tried to hide it from everyone. Including herself.
You snuggled right up to her; feeling the privilege of being so close to Heather Chandler. It was nice. Just what you needed after a rowdy party. You were sure she would try to flirt with you. Something, anything especially in her state. But to your surprise, you heard soft snoring. Looking up to see her eyes closed, hand stilled on your head. Looking the most at peace you'd ever seen her. You smiled and gently kissed her cheek, letting your lips linger. Letting her get her rest, knowing full well she won't be happy with her hangover tomorrow.

Can you write any of the Heathers being jealous because some girl is flirting with Veronica right in front of her face?
Hell yeah!!!! I can definitely do that!
Btw: Tracy is the stoner chick.
Cw: Underaged drinking.
Chandler grumbled as she halted daggers at Tracy's back, the girl was Lenard dove the counter as she made suspiciously "friendly" comments to Veronica, the latter making said remarks right back.
They were flirting and it was starting to get on Chandler's fucking nerves.
She felt her fragile patient break as Veronica laughed at some dumb pick up line that Tracy had thrown at her.
Chandler was sure she could kill Tracy, maybe then could feed her drain-o, then get Ronnie to forge her suicide note.
Well, probably not, but the fantasy was nice while it lasted.
Chandler shook her head as she placed her drink on the counter with just a tad too much force, and walked over to Veronica and Tracy.
"Ronnie!" She called out for the girl, who tried her hard towards, getting noticeably happier as she noticed Chandler, much to the giddiness of the latter, and the displeasure of Tracy, who glared at Chandler.
But Heather paid no mind as her eyes were focused on Ronnie, who was drunkenly waving at her.
It was a common occurrence for Veronica to be almost like a puppy when she was drunk, taking in any form of affection and being especially affectionate herself.
It was probably the most adorable thing Chandler will ever refuse to admit to seeing.
She walked over to them, taking Veronica's hand into her own, much to the annoyance of Tracy.
"Heather, what a pleasant surprise." Tracy spit out, her forced smile cracking at the seams as she felt Veronica lean into Heather's touch.
"I would love to be able to say the same. Say, don't you have to go with Amelie I'm about, right the fuck now?" Chandler said, it was phrased like a question, but it was so clearly a demand that even the people around them spared glances at them.
Tracy flinched at the reminder of Amelie, she was supposed to be meeting her soon, she sighed in defeat.
Giving one last look at Veronica, who was now clinging to Chandler, Tracy smiled fondly before giving one last glare to Chandler and disappearing into the crowd.
Heather huffed in mild annoyance, before she felt a small smile adorn her face as Veronica pulled her into a sloppy hug.
"I missed you." She mumbled into Chandler's shoulder.
"I missed you to."

☆ The Aftermath ☆
(prev. next.)
Pairing: Veronica Sawyer x Heather Chandler (Heathers)
Summary: Veronica and Heather end up in the same diner after the dreadful party
Word count: 2836
Notes: This is my first time publishing any Heathers fanfiction so be nice please 😭 also this is supposed to be Heathers the musical but might take inspo from both so just a warning
“I can't believe this is happening,” Veronica mumbled under her breath. She kicked a rock aggressively before nearly stumbling over. God, how much had she drunk?
In short, the party had been a disaster. Veronica had screwed up. Big time. There was no way she could bounce back after all of that. In fact, just thinking back made her nauseous all over again.
Sighing, she took a deep breath of the crisp, night air, trying to calm down. Despite it being only late September, the night was cold and Veronica wrapped herself in her coat tighter while she mulled over the night in her head. Having to protect Martha from something that was technically Veronica's own fault, Heather turning on her in a bitchy rage, and the stupid, stupid fight she picked. Veronica didn’t know what had happened. Of course Heather could be bitchy, but not usually so harsh - well, not to Veronica. It stung, and hurt Veronica more than she cared to admit. She blocked out the feeling and focused on her anger. After all, anger could be useful, right? Anger is practical. Whatever the mystery feeling (which she refused to believe was disappointment) was, it wasn’t going to be helpful. She kicked another pebble with unneeded force and watched it skitter over the sidewalk, rattling against the near-silent night. It must have been at least 1 am, and she was far away from anywhere in town. Ram lived in one of those fancy, distant houses on the outskirts. It was dark too, much darker than when she’d arrived after getting a lift with…
Heather.
Shit.
Veronica stopped walking and leaned against a tree. She couldn’t exactly walk home - a random, vaguely drunk teenager wandering the streets in the middle of the night was never going to be a good idea - her car was at home, and the idea of going back to beg Heather for a lift made her want to throw up. Again.
Besides, she couldn’t go home like this. If her parents heard her sneak into the house, she was a dead girl walking. The original plan was to go to Heather’s house before, well, shit hit the fan and Veronica managed to toss herself to the bottom of the social hierarchy in seconds.
So what could she do? There was no one she knew in this part of sherwood. Well, there was hardly anyone to know around here. It was practically empty except for a couple of ugly ass houses built in the 50s, the Ram's house, an overnight diner…
An overnight diner. That could actually work. She could spend the whole night - or what was left of it anyways - munching on chilli fries till her mouth tasted better and drinking enough pots of coffee to hopefully drown out her thoughts. No grovelling, no getting yelled at, no getting abducted. Just chilli fries. Yeah, the diner was an option.
Veronica pushed herself upright and walked down the street in a fairly straight line. It was only a short, unsteady walk down a few blocks before she arrived at the diner; then only 9 more minutes before she sat, sipping a black coffee and chewing on what was probably more deep-fryer fat than potato.
The diner was pretty bleak. Excluding her, there was only a few people loitering around: a middle-aged woman in a huge overcoat aggressively biting into a burger, a young-ish guy who looked drunk out of his mind giggling and staring at his cup, a waitress who looked like she wanted to pack it in and head home - not that Veronica blamed her. Pale grey and faded red striped the wall in a feeble attempt to add cheer, but it was still a thousand times better than the party Veronica had left behind.
Sighing, Veronica pulled her purse open and yanked out her diary.
Dear diary,
My life is officially over. I hope they play _ at my funeral. The party was a mess. I left “keggers with kids” only to end up in a nightmare. It was chaos, fucking chaos, and somehow the it only got worse.
Diary, I have ruined my life. At least for high school. Probably longer. All because of the stupid argument with Heather-
Veronica’s pen hovered above the page, her mind drifting elsewhere.
Heather. Ugh.
Everytime Veronica tried to think about Heather Chandler, she couldn’t bring herself to focus on the other girl for too long. Veronica was used to being scared of her. After all, she had known her as only a mythic bitch until the near-end of sophomore year. And she was terrifying now, with the fate of Veronica’s entire social life in her hands, just waiting to be crushed between her manicured fingers. Veronica knew what Heather Chandler was: dangerous, merciless and not someone to screw around with. She didn’t care if she was liked; all she cared about was her position at the top of the food chain.
And she’d fucked Veronica over. Big time.
The funny thing was, Ronnie had been so sure. She’d been convinced there was more to Heather than some rich bitch who was obsessed with red. Heather Chandler was a person, and there’s good in everyone. There had been moments, Veronica was sure; when she’d smiled after winning a match of croquet instead of smirking and simpering like she did at school. Or the small look of disappointment on Heather’s face when she saw her results on a vocab quiz, before it frosted over into a sneer. Even the way her finger tapped subconsciously against the steering wheel of her Porsche whenever ABBA played over the stereo. A few scattered slivers of humanity that you couldn’t capture - there and gone so fast it was hard to be sure if they even happened. Nobody else noticed. But ever since Heather dragged Ronnie to highschool stardom, she had been almost certain that she wasn’t just some cruel Barbie Doll. But, as it turned out, Veronica was wrong. Heather was willing to snap anyone's neck under her stilettos.
Even Veronica’s.
She took another long sip of her coffee, breathing in the earthy smell. The facts were: A) she was dead meat come Monday. B) Heather Chandler almost definitely despised her. C) She had no friends, no options, no chance. D) These fries were delicious.
So Veronica had nothing to do now. Nothing to lose and nowhere to go. How very.
With a quiet grunt of irritation, she placed her pen down and laced her fingers around the mug, drumming her fingers in an inconsistent pattern. If her thoughts didn’t shut up soon, it was going to be a really long night.
– – – –
The loud car horn jerked Veronica awake. The girl startled up, dropping her hand from where it had been pressed into her face. By the time she had recognised the horn, the car’s occupant was already inside the diner.
Veronica heard her voice before she saw her.
“What the fuck are you doing here?!” To Veronica’s surprise, Heather’s voice was more dumbfounded than angry - although the queen bee’s tone couldn’t have been mistaken for anything other than cold.
With a barely suppressed groan, she turned to face Chandler. “I could ask you the same thing.”
“I always come here after going to parties - not that it’s any of your business.” Heather huffed, glancing around. “What’s that?”
Heather’s eyes narrowed when she caught sight of Veronica’s diary.
Shit.
Veronica quickly snatched the notepad and stuffed it away. For god’s sake, why hadn’t she just done that earlier? She couldn’t have predicted Chandler’s arrival but still, how stupid did she have to be to leave it lying-
“Well?” Heather’s voice was a knife through her thoughts.
“It’s nothing. A notepad to… practise in.” Veronica lied quickly. She had always done her best to hide her diary from Heather, for fear of being mocked. Clearly, writing down all your thoughts and feelings wasn’t exactly something to be considered cool by most people - and it definitely wasn’t seen that way by Heather. The other girl arched her eyebrow, but Veronica ploughed on. “Y’know, to perfect my forgeries and stuff-”
“Don’t screw with me, ‘Ronica.” Heather cut her off. “That’s your handwriting. Which is pretty shit, considering you're good at copying other people’s writing.” Heather unfolded her arms to lean against Veronica’s table, her hard expression slowly morphing into a smirk. “Why? Is it a diary or something? Because I don’t think there’s much point keeping embarrassing secrets from me when you're already dead meat.”
Veronica glowered at her, trying to ignore how terrifying the idea of Chandler flipping through her journal was. “I… It’s none of your damn business Heather.” She was pretty proud of how steady she kept her voice.
Heather scoffed, her tone one of mock hurt. “And here I thought we were friends.”
“You literally told me I was history.”
“On Monday. I’d said you’d be history on Monday.”
Veronica sat back on her seat, avoiding Heather’s gaze. With an eye roll so intense Veronica could practically hear it, Chandler sat down across from Veronica and stole a fry from her bowl. Veronica glared at her. Heather scoffed.
“Don’t give me that wounded look. You can spare a fry. Especially when you owe me an entire pair of shoes.”
“I thought I'd paid for those with my dignity.” Veronica muttered.
“Excuse me, Sawyer?”
“Nothing.”
“I thought as much.” There was a moment's pause. Veronica stared down into her mug, regretting every decision she'd ever made that could have led up to this moment. Heather seemed to notice her less-than-joyful expression and sneered.
“God, ‘Ronica. Why can't you just lighten up?”
“It would be easier to lighten up if you hadn't ruined my social life.” Veronica said through gritted teeth, her eye’s remaining angled down.
Heather paused for a moment - hesitated, almost - before replying to her in her usual, snobbish tone. “That's your own fault. Nobody forced you to side with Martha Dumptr-”
“Dunnstock.”
“Someone’s touchy,”
“Someone doesn’t like your stupid, lousy nickname for her friend,” Veronica countered.
Heather sneered. “Still defending little miss Shamu are we?”
Veronica was done. She looked up to face her scoffed back - I mean, she had nothing left to lose, why should she care what Heather thought of her now? “Yeah, actually. I care about Martha, because most people care about others! Most people aren’t mythic bitches who care more about their scrunchies than actual people. Not everyone’s a mythic bitch, Heather!”
A borderline hurt expression cut across Heather’s expression, but it vanished just as soon as it had appeared, replaced by a glare. “You are dead, Sawyer. Monday morning will arrive and you won’t even exist anymore.”
“Yeah, well, that’s the same position I’ve been in for the past few hours; nothing new here.” Veronica let out a mirthless laugh. “Might as well take the cheap shots now while I still can, right?”
The confidence in her voice felt alien. Maybe she knew for sure there was nothing left for her to lose. Or maybe it was just alcohol. Eh, brave, drunk, stupid, what was the difference?
Heather ran a hand through her long, thick blonde hair, her mouth twisted into an arch of distaste. “Hell, sometimes, you make it easy to hate you,”
“Well, I hate you more. That I can promise.”
The corner of Heather’s lips curled upwards in response to Veronica’s words, looking vaguely impressed by the girl’s nerve.
“You chose to fly with eagles,” false sympathy wrapped around Heather’s words. “Now it’s time to face the consequences, sweetheart.”
“Yeah, well, sue me for giving a damn.” Veronica mumbled. The girl across from her sighed incredulously.
“Why’d you do it, Vee? You said you wanted to be one of us, you wanted to be like me-”
“With you, not like you,”
“-So why’d you throw it all away?” Heather’s expression looked the most genuine Veronica had seen it; there was real confusion
“Because I care about Martha!” Veronica said, incredulous as to how she couldn’t get it. “I should have never written that stupid note in the first place. She’s like my sister-”
“I get that she’s your friend and all, but that was excessive.” Heather’s nose wrinkled.
Veronica thought for a moment. “Well, if you were a kid and you ran into a road, your mom would stop you, right?”
There was a pause. “Uh, yeah, okay. I guess.”
Veronica watched her closely. Weird reaction you got there, Heather. “The point is, it’s like that. She’s important to me, and so be it if I lose my spot in some clique for her.”
The red-clad girl paused. She hardly seemed angry now, more… pensive. Heather didn’t speak for a few beats, then: “You didn’t answer my original question.”
“Huh?”
“What the fuck are you doing here?” Heather clarified, this time her voice was less cold and more… something else. Something softer.
“Oh. Well, you were going to give me a lift back, but we had the fight seeing as you hate me now-” Heather shot her an odd look, “- I thought it would be best to walk back. Turns out I underestimated just how alienated Ram's house is from the rest of town.”
Heather muttered something that sounded like “what kind of high schooler uses the word alienated?” Veronica ignored her and ploughed on.
“There's no way I'm walking back now. It's too late, and my parents do not need to see me like this. So, I found this place and I'm staying over here.”
Heather stared at her. “Staying over here?”
“Yeah.”
“Overnight?”
“Yep.”
“No bed, just sleeping on the diner table?”
“Uh huh.”
“You-” A myriad of feelings flickered over Heather's face too quickly for Veronica to decipher - it took her long enough to process Heather showing that much emotion anyways - before settling into a hardened, haughty look. “No.”
Veronica blinked. “I uh, well- what?”
Not Veronica’s brightest literary moment, she would admit, but she also had alcohol in her system and Heather's firm response was sort of… baffling.
“No.”
After a sec, the Power of Speech returned to Veronica. “So. you want me to just wander around till morning?”
Heather rolled her eyes. “No, you pillowcase. Sleeping in some shitty diner is pathetic and embarrassing and-”
“What does it matter? None will mean anything in a year's time. Hell, it won't mean anything come Monday! “Nobody at Westerberg is going to let you play their reindeer games.” Sound familiar?” Sucking air in through her teeth softly, Veronica chanced a look up at Chandler. Her voice was bitter and she knew it, but there wasn't any point in holding back. “I'm over, Heather. Whether I sleep in a diner or not, I'll still be strung up on a wall on Monday. All. Thanks. To. You.”
Heather huffed, looking sideways. For the first time Veronica had spoken to her - ever - Heather refused to meet her eyes. “Look, I… I’m…”
“You're what?” Veronica cut her off, with no attempt to mask the irritation in her voice. It wouldn't have done anything anyways. Heather must have been really pissed if she was stuttering. She never stuttered; her eloquence cut through the air, sharpened into blades to match her cutting words. If Veronica had riled her up that much, well then-
“If you really don't have anywhere else to go,” Heather spoke through gritted teeth, “you could come… stay over at. My place.”
What!?
“What!?”
“You heard me.” The girl in red replied. Her eyes flicked to Veronica’s and something glazed over them. Something like…
Oh. Oh.
“Holy shit, you're guilty, aren't you? You feel bad!” Veronica nearly laughed.
A sneer rose to Heather’s lips, and she rolled her eyes. “Oh shut up, Vee.”
“No, I won't shut up.” Veronica replied immediately, before lowering her tone slightly. “Is this your way of saying sorry?”
The lack of denial said it all for Veronica. She let out something between a scoff and a breath. “Oh my god-”
“Do you want the offer or not?” Heather cut her off harshly. “If you'd rather be left here alone without any idea of how to get home, then enjoy your little loser fest.”
Veronica thought about it. Could she really consider going over to stay at The Mythic Bitch’s house. That was an awful idea waiting to happen, she would only dog her grave deeper… But still. A warm, clean, safe house sounded incredibly very right now. It was just one night; there was no way she could worsen her current situation in that time. And Heather’s fancy, upper class mansion of a house was the perfect place to crash out.
Veronica was knocked out of her contemplation by the drumming of Heather's fingernails on the aluminium table tops. Heather spoke, “Well?”
Was going along with this the smart thing to do? Probably not. Staying in the same house as the teenage girl who you vomited on earlier the same night didn't really come under smart ideas. And Veronica Sawyer was the sort of person who did the smart thing.
But not tonight.
“Fuck it. I'm in.”

you said LAOFT Roman is immune to poisons, so in theory could he just turn up some drain cleaner ala Heather Chandler style and be completely fine? bc thats cool and he should totally mess with people and freak them out with it, if thats the case.
'immune' is maybe a little too strong of a word, witches cant be killed by poison. he can get drunk, but he'll never get alcohol poisoning. he can do drugs but cant OD. he could drink the drain cleaner, and it would make him sick as a dog, but it wouldnt kill him
all of which is to say he definitely does this thinking 'oh shit im immune to poison thisll be fucking hilarious' and then is laid up in bed moaning for four days

Chansaw Headcanon Post! (Ft. bonus announcement) (Queued Post #1/7)
Hey besties, hope you're all doing well, just letting you know that I'll be gone until July 15th. I've queued up some posts to release every few days until then. In the mean time, hope you enjoy!
Chansaw:
She’ll never admit it, but Heather thinks Veronica looks adorable when she wears the monocle
Veroinca has stolen so many of Heather's blazers
These two stay up talking on the phone for hours talking about anything and everything almost every night
The first time they kissed was after the sleepover where they all got drunk, but neither of them remembered it (that they were willing to admit) so nothing happened
Veronica made Chandler a red and blue heart pattern bracelet for her birthday, which she refuses to take off
Chandler painted a portrait of Veronica for her birthday. Veronica framed it and keeps it on her nightstand
Heather is 90% of Veronica's (superbly shitty) impulse control
Only Heather is allowed to call Veronica Ronnie. If anyone else (especially JD) tries, she’ll put their head on a spike
Veronica calls Heather 'princess' in private (and sometimes in public just to piss her off)
They’re very sparse with PDAs. You’ll hardly ever see them touch. (Being gay in the 80s in rural Ohio was not it)
In private is a whole other story. When Heather and Veronica are alone, they’re all over each other and it’s almost impossible to untangle them.
Heather loves playing with Veronica's hair
When her super strong lavender perfume was bothering Veronica, she changed it to vanilla instead
About half of Veronica's wardrobe lives at Heather's house
One time at a Veronica-free sleepover Heather called Veronica to wish her goodnight
Mac and Duke told her to just admit she had a crush and call it a day, and Chandler got really mad and said it was perfectly normal to say goonight to her friends
Mac and Duke were like "hmm ok Heather" (Chandler had never ever done that for them in all their years of friendship)

Hiiiii! Can you do “you can hold my hand, if you want” with Heather chandler? I was thinking like anxious reader at a party something but honestly whatever is cool!
I'M BACK AND BACK WITH A HEATHERS PROMPT!
Sorry it took so long, man, but here we are!
Hope you enjoy!
Guys, I'm still not taking requests because I always have a writer's block trying to write them. Planning to open again real soon, just let me organize the schedule better!
Enjoy!
--------------------
Introvert | Heather Chandler x Reader
"Come on, (Y\N), it'll be cool!"
For someone like Heather Chandler - blonde, beautiful and popular - a party full of people was really cool. But you, a newcomer to the group, and someone who was trying to tone down your introverted side, definitely being at a crowded party was a nightmare.
Inevitably, things started to get worse as soon as you took the first step into the house where the party was taking place. It wasn't the feeling of the loud beat of the music in your ears that bothered you, but the looks people gave you both. Heather refused to make any kind of physical contact with you - it was something that came from her, and you were used to it, to be honest - but even so, everyone who saw you enter together had their eyes glued to you.
It was like you were the most popular couple, not being a couple, right now.
And you hated it. And your social anxiety hated it even more.
***
"Hey, are you okay?"
Heather's voice woke you from your thoughts. She looked beautiful in her little red outfit - like all the clothes she owned - and envy hit you the moment you saw her wave to everyone passing by. In her hand was the traditional drink cup. It was halfway through, but she didn't look drunk or anything.
"I'm fine," you assured, your voice low and shaky, disguising a glance at the scenery, something that didn't go unnoticed by Heather. She looked at you with a serious expression, and you snorted. "Seriously, Heather."
"Here, have a little drink…", she whispered, picking up an empty glass from a table and pouring it before handing it to you. "Do you want me to stay here by your side and distract you?"
You shook your head, and almost had the urge to repeat that everything was fine, when she interrupted you.
"I'll stay anyway. You know what they say, right, whoever has Heather Chandler on their side doesn't have the slightest chance of being sad." She laughed and then looked at you. "Listen, if you're not feeling well, we can go home. And I'll spend the night with you, having a sleepover just the two of us."
You stiffened and nodded, but, looking around again, took a deep breath and composed yourself before saying that everything was fine for the umpteenth time.
"(Y\N), why are you so quiet?" she asked, now looking at you with concern. "Go on, don't be an idiot, tell me. I promise I won't judge you."
You took a deep breath again and opened your mouth. "It's because this place is not a place for introverts, Heather. You know, I loved that you wanted me for your company, but the music, the house, the people… none of that is for me. You adapt more in those places, you belong here, and I don't…"
"Shut. Up," she whispered, ruffling your hair. "Here, look, you can hold my hand if you want, if it makes you feel better."
And she reached out to you, taking you by surprise. Heather wasn't one to show affection anyway, so when she did, in the rare moments, you had to take advantage of it. Willing not to let her down - and secretly hoping you'd be okay with it - you took her hand and laced your fingers together.
Your racing heart was no longer due to anxiety, and looking into those clear eyes, you were sure you had already changed your target.
"How do you feel now? Better?" she whispered, laughing.
You nodded. "Much better."
"Cool," she sighed in relief. "I'm glad, you know… that I could help. And yet, it doesn't mean anything more than me wanting you to feel comfortable here. Nothing at all. Ever. God, that would be pretty awful."
You had to laugh, even though you admit that having Heather as something more than just a friend was a lot more interesting…

Heathers: The Musical
Beautiful
The opening of this number leaves something to be desired at first, with Veronica’s
pleas to return to the simpler time of kindergarten ringing closer to the girl from Mean Girls who doesn’t even go here than it does to the well meaning yet jaded protagonist we’re given here. However, that doesn’t last long. As Veronica waxes poetic through the high school halls we get a very interesting look at all the students cliquish together mock on another. The insults are harsh yet childish (shortbus, homo, slut, etc.) and we see Veronica herself not immune to these musings. Despite claiming she wants things to be better the first thing she says in regards to Ram and Kurt are that they’re assholes and idiots and her first remarks about the Heathers are judgy claims about the three of them. Veronica sees these people as human as they see her.
This isn’t subtext either, the first real glimmer that the creators have a strong vision come in the use of the Greek Chorus, wherein every kid who was previously hurling insults reveals confusion and guilt over their own actions. Even Kurt and Ram, the jock boys who later be killed by JD for attempting to coerce Veronica into sex while they’re drunk both exclaim regret of their actions (“Why do I act like such a creep?” “Why did I hit him?” “Why do I cry myself to sleep?”)
This leads into the introduction of the Heathers themselves-three girls regarded as both perfect and universally adored and universally despised. Described as ‘Solid Teflon’. But then we actually get their first lines…in the school bathroom…where one of them is engaging in bulimia. The other two Heathers actively discourage Duke from this but she obviously has body issues (as she is the one whose “mom paid for implants”, after all). To which the school guidance counselor walks in on them and-instead of treating this situation with the respect it deserves-rolls her eyes and attempts to give them detention for being out of class.
This is very significant as the pervasive theme of Heathers is that none of these kids are being the support to be better people, so how could they be better people? This woman’s job is to be on alert for kids going through something, but it will literally take the faked suicide of Heather Chandler for her to perform even a falsity of that job. It’s Veronica who shows the Heathers unbound kindness by forging a hall pass for them and getting them out of trouble.
To which Chandler is immediately suspicious because the other theme is
“When no one is nice to you without wanting something for long enough it messes with your perception of healthy relationships”.
Veronica then does ask for a favor in return for her help-being given a metaphoric thumbs up by the trip so she’ll keep from being harassed. Of course, the girls do her one better and Veronica becomes the fourth member of the Heathers.
Veronica herself is well characterized by the end of this. She’s kind even if that kindness comes with hesitancy, she loves her friend Martha, and despite her Daria-esque attitude to the people around her manages to be proactive right at the start as we see her actively tell one of the jocks she’s a afraid of to apologize to her friend when he attacks her. But she’s also easily swayed. Despite thinking they’re terrible people and thinking the concept of the school hierarchy is stupid, when given the opportunity to be at the top of the hierarchy with the Heathers she accepts with no hesitation. Her mantra going from the beginning of the song “We could be beautiful, just not today…” to the more selfish “And when you’re beautiful, it’s a beautiful day”.
It’s got some fun lyricism and some classic foreshadowing wordplay, I’m particularly fond of the line “Fight the urge to strike a match and set this dump ablaze” as it draws an early line between Veronica’s emotional in the moment thoughts and the more intense tangible desires of JD being twisted by those thoughts.
All in all this is a solid opening number to this musical. Let’s see how they follow through with the introduction of the plot and the introduction of JD.

You and Heather Chandler couldn't be any further from different. While she was popular and hot, you were more artsy and "weird". At least, that's probably how she would look at you. You spent most of your time either in the library or art room, places you were sure Heather Chandler would avoid.
And it worked. For a while.
She had no idea who you were.
Until one day she noticed you. That annoying Monday morning where you had decided to situate yourself just below your school locker. Seated on the ground, sketch book in hand. You weren't giving much thought to what you were drawing: just basic anatomy figure sketches. Nothing that was overly detailed or required a lot of thought. You loved art like that. The stuff you could just effortlessly create.
The Heathers walked by your locker, you did your best not to look up and give eye contact to either of them but of course you were noticed anyways. Just not by the Red Devil.
Heather McNamara noticed you. She took one glance at your art and was immediately sitting down next to you with a smile on her face.
"Oh my God! You're amazing at that! What're you drawing?" She asks, leaning over your shoulder. You flinch at her sudden appearance next to you and her energy, glancing at her and then at the others. Heather Duke had her arms folded across her chest, watching you and Heather McNamara with an intense glare while Heather Chandler took one glance at you. Seemed to stop for a moment before she kept walking. You second guessed and thought maybe you had imagined her stopping.
Your eyes shifted from them to Heather McNamara, feeling a little awkward with the blonde next to you," Oh... um... just-"
You're cut off by Heather Duke, though you're almost relieved by that." Heather, let's go!" She makes a 'get up' hand gesture.
"Okay, okay! Just a second!" Heather McNamara replies, looking to you again after looking over at Heather Duke. "Can you teach me how to draw like that sometime? My art score is low and I could use a tutor."
"Sure..?" You raise an eyebrow slightly. That was the last thing you expected to have happen.
"Great! Thanks! Oh! What's your name?" She asks you just as she was about to get up.
"Y/N." You respond, she smiles at you and gives you a quick (awkward) hug.
"Nice meeting you, Y/N! Library after school today?"
"Okay.."
"Great!" Heather gets up and leaves, Heather Duke scoffs and glares at you before they both scramble after Heather Chandler who was a good distance ahead.
That's how you and Heather McNamara became friends. Something you never thought would happen. From what you've gathered, she's much nicer than the other Heathers.
~~~
It's been three weeks now of you tutoring Heather in art, you thought she was getting better at it. On top of it, you both were close friends now. She was just so easy to talk to and genuinely pretty funny once you got to know her.
It was after school, you and Heather M were in the school library. Working on an art project the two of you had been paired together for. You guys didn't have the same art class, but the art teacher was trying this thing where she paired students from different class periods on projects. You weren't sure why, you thought maybe it was her way of getting students to connect with people they normally wouldn't.
"Y/N, I was wondering. Are you busy this Friday night?" She asked you, you looked up from the references you'd been flipping through in a book and shook your head.
"No, why?"
Her smile widened and you immediately regretted not coming up with a lie. You knew that look.
"Kurt and Ram are hosting a house party. I'll have Heather come to yours when she picks the rest of us up!"
Great. Now you're going to a house party. You'd done so well at avoiding those.
"Alright.. but could you come to mine after school first? I have no idea what to wear to a house party." You admit.
"Oh my Gosh! Totally! Ee, this is going to be awesome!" She squeals, throwing her hands into the air. Her excited look made it worth it.
~~~
Friday night rolls around, Heather M had helped you get into a nice outfit (whatever you want to imagine) and Heather Chandler had gotten all five of you to the party. The five being you, Veronica, the Heathers.
You weren't sure what to expect. Sure you could guess but all those guesses made you nervous. Luckily, you had Heather M and Veronica keeping an eye on you. In the time you had known Heather M Veronica had become friends with you too.
It was well into the party now, you had a few drinks. Nothing too insane, but you were definitely a little tipsy. Not as bad as the other Heathers and Veronica, who you were surprised to see as drunk as she was.
You were leaned up against the counter top in the kitchen, watching as Heather M poured each of you another drink. Heather Chandler walked over to you with a smirk.
"Hey, nerd. Come over here for a second." She demanded, you glanced at her in confusion but listened.
Without warning, she kissed you. Heather D & M and Veronica stared at the both of you with wide eyes and confusion. Veronica cheered though.
"Yeah! Get it, Y/N!" She's drunk, leave her be.
You blushed heavily and pulled away after a moment, staring into Heather's eyes. You couldn't read her. You didn't want to admit it, but you had been crushing on her as you got closer with the group. Did she pick up on that? What did this mean?
"Come on." Heather C muttered, grabbing you by your hand; dragging you somewhere upstairs and into one of the bedrooms.
You weren't sure whose but you didn't care enough to figure it out. You just simply followed Heather.
When she got you into the room, she had pushed you against the closed door with a bit of force. Kissing at your neck which got a gasp out of you, you moved her off you so you could gather your thoughts.
"What the hell?" You asked, breathless. She smirked again at that and her hand trailed down your side.
"This is what you've wanted, isn't it?" Fuck.
She knew.
You gulped and didn't answer, which confirmed everything for her," Just relax and let it happen. You're hot, let me fucking kiss you." Heather whispered against your lips.
Part of you knew this was wrong. You were both drunk. Her more than you. You were sure both of you would regret this in the morning. But right now? You didn't care about any of that.
Little did you know neither of you would regret it and that it would turn into something more.

The Heathers + Veronica and Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is just a 'meh' holiday for the four of them
Its smack dab in the middle of Halloween and Christmas, and when it comes around they're ready for it to be Christmastime already, especially Mac
Chandler never celebrated it with her family growing up, her mother would usually get drunk or try and get some early Black Friday deals, so she ended up celebrating it with Mac and her Dad
With Mac, Thanksgiving was just another obstacle until her favorite holiday, Christmas, and she was desperate to get done with it so they could put up the tree
Duke's family never celebrated it either, despite her family living in America for years they never adopted that particular custom
Veronica did celebrate it, but it was never one of her favorite holidays
All this to say the four of them don't have a big celebration for the holiday
They invite over Veronica's friends, her parents, and Mac's dad for lunch, each of them bringing a side while Chandler is in charge of the turkey
Her first few attempts did not go very well, apparently its harder to cook a turkey then one would imagine, so they ended up having frozen pizza for their main dish
While Chandler is cooking the turkey Veronica will go up and act surprised to see it before turning to Duke and exclaiming about how horrible it is and that "they needed to go back in time to get turkey OFF THE MENU"
Chandler, sick to death of Veronica's terrible memes, then proceeds to grab a spatula and chase the both of them around the house, swatting at them while they attempt to flee, laughing their asses off the whole time
Come to think of it that might have something to do with why the turkey didn't end up right for the first few years
Their guests come around midday and they get the food ready, before they all go to sit
In spirit of the holiday they go around and say what they are thankful for
But like with most things, this cannot be simple
Being that there are so many of them, they tend to keep their statements short, well, almost all of them
Chandler noticed that Duke's were always ever so slightly longer than hers and so next year she went on a small tangent
In response Duke took even longer
This continued for a few years until Chandler spent a good 15 minutes ranting about how much she loves Mac and is thankful for her
Said girl was blushing so hard while the rest of them groaned bc she just wouldn't shut up and the food was getting gold
JD was trying to sneak some ham without anyone noticing while this was going on
After that fiasco they made a rule; your thanks could be no longer than 30 seconds long
Once they've finished eating they head to the living room and watch some TV while Chandler breaks out the wine
They watch the usual stuff like A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade while just spending time with the people they love
After a while they go get the tree
The tree is easily a story tall and takes the combined efforts of everyone there to get it set up
Once that's done Mac is basically pushing everyone out the house so they can start decorating for Christmas
If it were up to her they would've started as soon as Halloween was over but Chandler insisted on waiting until Thanksgiving
She rushes up to the attic to grab all of their Christmas decorations and will not let the others rest until everything is up, a process which takes a ridiculous amount of time with how big their house is
But since it makes Mac so happy the others are willing to put up with it
Sorry this wasn't that long, Thanksgiving is such a boring holiday that I couldn't think of all that much to add. And just like Mac, I'm ready for it to be over so it can be Christmastime.

Hello!! Your art is very cool❤
What is ur favorite Heather Chandler hedcanon?
(If you have ones ofc)
Have a good day!! :D
Hi! Thank you so much <3
Um, no favorite, I haven't thought much about Chandler (she died in almost all my AUs), but there are some headcanons. Though I'll warn you right away, she's not a good person. Well... like any of Heathers' characters, a guess ^^'
Chandler's parents are not divorcing because of the difficulties of dividing the business, but they haven't slept in the same bed for a long time. They barely speak to each other and pay little attention to their daughter, preferring to buy her off with gifts and money.
She has always been spoiled by other people's attention and is used to getting what she wants. If she doesn't get what she wants from someone, she is capable of taking revenge in any way she can. Once, at the age of 14, she was interested in her father's driver, who rejected her (of course, she was too young). She told her father that the guy was molesting her and her father ruin his life.
Heather has used her father's influence more than once to get off with disorderly conduct and drunk driving.
Heather has little empathy and often feels a terrible emptiness inside that she tries to fill by hitting the endorphin button: sex, alcohol, bullying the weaker, and revenge on anyone who doesn't fit into her world view.
She's bisexual, but she'll never be out of the closet - and that makes her really cruel to those who choose to be.
At AU, where she lives, she did better in college - after she realized that her father's influence didn't spread and that there were richer people in college. She'd had to put up with it, and it had unexpectedly taught her the rudiments of empathy.

So I've been thinking...
What if Heathers was a scheme? An elaborate plan created by Veronica, the Heathers, Betty and Martha?
Because I remember in the musical, JD smells the drain cleaner yet still gives it to Heather Chandler. Meaning the smell was faint.
Or there wasn't a smell, because it wasn't drain cleaner.
Okay, so hear me out.
The six of them have been friends since they were freshmen. The Heathers are starting to be popular because ✨rich kids✨
H³ + V have been dating since sophomore year.
They realized how shitty the school system is and how bad everything outside of their rooms are. But of course, until they're adults, they can't do shit about the outside world.
Yet school is within their reach.
So, here's how it worked.
As the Heathers became more and more popular, everyone would try to get close to the three to gain popularity, creating the social ladder. To maintain popularity, everyone would bully the "weak", Martha, Betty and Ronnie included. The adults don't care so school became hell.
The six of them plan to stop it.
They decided to pretend to go with the flow to see how far every student would take it.
Which led to Kurt and Ram learning to rape and other terrible things.
They needed to do something, but they would need a clueless puppet to do so. A person with no morals.
A person who does terrible things with no regrets. A person beyond redemption. They are not recruiting this one, they'll be using this one.
Fast forward to senior year.
Veronica has done her research and learned that the son of Big Bud Dean, a man who was accused of physical assault, yet was let go due to lack of evidence.
Jason Dean, a boy who had a bad reputation of violence among his peers. Students from previous schools complained about how he's manipulative yet no one took it that seriously. There was an instance he almost killed a student, but he wasn't sued.
Perfect.
They talked it out and came to the agreement that someone will have to get close to him to learn more.
And that became Veronica.
In order for this to work, Veronica had to be a popular girl. Uphold the image of "I'm popular but I'm more human than all of you" to get his attention. So Veronica became a Heather.
It happens like the movie, during the lunch time poll, she conversed with JD, pretended to look like she was into him. Which led to Kurt and Ram approaching him and the fight happens. JD pulls the blank gun on Kurt and Ram.
Sign 1 that this boy is dangerous.
The croquet scene we see in the musical where Heather Chandler acts like a bitch to Ronnie and Duke is staged because Veronica's parents are within their earshot.
Everything they say that the public hears that make them look shitty are practiced.
One could say their school is a theatre and they're the ones pulling the strings for the acts.
So we get to Freeze Your Brain where Veronica indulges him into a conversation and learns his backstory. Understandable, yet not justifiable. Of course, Heather Chandler walks in and says her lines.
In the car, the two talk about it. Then they decide to test the boy. Veronica has to mess up at the party to see how far JD could go. If JD really is someone who'd kill someone all because he can and not regret it, they'll have to be prepared.
The party happens and it goes as it does during Big Fun. Again, these are all scripted acts of theirs.
Veronica is by no means, a lightweight. But you can smell the alcohol from her. So when she goes into JD's room (The Heathers were fine with this knowing it's a show) and Dead Girl Walking happens, it proved that he is willing to take advantage of someone. Mind you, Veronica MAY have known what she was doing, she was still ever so clearly drunk. The fact that JD did not stop it and let it happen WILLINGLY says a lot.
Sign 2 that he's dangerous.
Now you couldn't say they "fucked" it was more they had little clothing on and Veronica was the one in control so it extremely quick but of course, JD had his d!ck t0uch3d so he considers it a fuck.
Morning came and Veronica telling JD that she needs to apologize to Heather Chandler.
"By the way, you were my first." A lie. The Heathers were obviously.
Heather Chandler asked for the prairie oyster because that was the script they followed.
They hid the REAL drain cleaner and JD didn't know.
So when HC drinks it, she pretends to fall and die. She wore a kimono specifically, one that's a little bigger than her to avoid showing that she's still breathing.
Veronica says her lines and JD convinces her of the fake suicide note.
Sign 3.
The police officers were H³ + V, Betty and Martha's accomplices. My idea is that Veronica has an older sister who is also an anarchist and went with their plan, and is lowkey kinda proud that Veronica is following her footsteps.
The events I'm basing off are mostly the musical to make it longer so there was no HC funeral. She was in the hospital "recovering". The doctor also works for Veronica's older sis.
So Blue/You're Welcome. The HD and HM's moment to enter the curtain.
Again, getting Veronica there (and being stone cold bitches if Blue) was scripted. Kurt and Ram being rapists aren't but they expected it.
So in the movie, JD coerced Duke to taking the scrunchy. In the musical, she did it herself. So this is a mix mix sitch.
JD "convinces" her to take the scrunchy by blackmail (that HD and Martha purposefully left out) and she takes the scrunchy from HC's locker.
Kurt and Ram were the ones who spread the rumors. They knew beforehand. So they tasked HD (and HM if Blue) to make it worse.
Veronica cried on command for this one so JD could see.
Cue Our Love Is God.
She knew, they all knew JD would try to kill Kurt and Ram. They didn't mind that.
Kurt and Ram are rapists and they don't regret what they've done one bit. They brag about raping, so they were fine with them dying.
Veronica acts like she's clueless. JD tries to lovebomb her which she pretends to succumb to.
And here's sign 4.
Cue Dead Gay Son.
Now Seventeen, which once again, staged.
Veronica and Martha's interaction after that? Staged. Veronica said that within JD's earshot. They needed to let him think that he's got Veronica under his control.
Then Shine a Light.
And Lifeboat.
Which was staged, but also wasn't.
HM talking was staged. What she said was real.
HM already had terrible mental health so HD making fun of her might've been scripted, what the other students said is what hurt her. It ran through her head over and over. It's why she ran.
Veronica admitting her crimes was a test they pulled on everyone to see how'd they react once HD said that anyone would say anything to be more popular.
"Just like McNamara." Said HD, as she looked into Veronica's eyes, silently telling her to follow the girl yellow. Because she truly looks hurt.
Veronica got the memo and went after HM.
So Shine A Light Reprise.
Veronica tells HM that maybe they should pause their plan first to help her heal but HM told Veronica it's fine.
After a long conversation Veronica decided to go through with the plan.
After learning what happened HD couldn't stop apologizing even though HM constantly told her that she wasn't hurt by her words but the other students'.
Martha on the other hand overheard Veronica and HM's conversation. So she realized that for this plan to work, someone has to get hurt.
Physically.
Actually, almost DIE.
Because to get the school to realize how they treat others is only when someone gets hurt.
So she calls Betty and tells her the idea. Betty of course tries to talk Martha out of it but she caved in because Martha was insistent.
So Kindergarten Boyfriend is her written suicide note. The note she gave Betty was her plan.
She couldn't reach Veronica so the ones who knew at the time were her, HC and HD.
Cue I Say No. Veronica wants to see how JD would take it and what he would do to get her back, because she knows what happened.
The lines before Yo Girl was said in the way it was to keep the act, but HD's eyes were saying something different.
See, when she handed HM the "petition" it wasn't the petition JD made her make the student body sign. It was the note Martha gave Betty.
THAT'S why Yo Girl happens.
Now JD is in Veronica's room. Veronica is hiding in the closet. What should she do now? How are they-
Then JD mentions the bomb.
That's it. That's how she'll end it. She finally sees the final picture.
So Martha doing what she did would be kind of worth it.
So she pretends to kill herself and we get the first verse and first Chorus (only that) of Dead Girl Walking Reprise.
Because the fight happened the way it did in the movie.
But the bomb is still on, which Veronica forgot about. So she had to take it outside.
But she sees JD get up to try and follow her.
So she still takes the bomb out but with the intention of JD blowing up instead.
I Am Damaged happens but differently. We don't hear Veronica say "Oh my g0d, wait hold on, not this way" we only hear JD.
Veronica takes out a cigarette and behind her, HD, Betty and Martha walk by the door watching them, smirk and walk back to the pep rally to signal HM thats it's almost over.
Then HC enters stage right, leaning against a tree within JD's sight, smirking. JD's eyes widen as he realizes that he wasn't the one in control.
The bomb is at 6 seconds.
"Say hi to God."
Aaaaaaannnnnnddddd Seventeen Reprise.
It happens as it does at West End, wherein HD takes Ronnie's hand.
And there it is.
The final act is over.

sleep deprived and i need to explain my chansaw thoughts bc i fucking love this ship but in the most unhinged way
no they do not like each other
no they would not date
no they can never have anything remotely resembling a healthy relationship
they hate each other. they infuriate each other. in a horny way
they’re allowed maybe one scene of being genuinely nice to each other when someone’s hurt/upset/drunk/whatever. then they’re back to their hating
it’s just veronica getting manhandled by chandler and experiencing some very confusing emotions
i am ignoring the fact that heather dies. for chansaw purposes no she doesn’t
enemies with benefits
i just think it would be so fucked up and so interesting and hot!

I don't know if the cause of her death has been revealed already, but I think it'd be really fun for Velvette to have died similarly to how Heather Chandler died in Heathers. The popular girl at school getting poisoned 'accidentally' by one of her friends after getting drunk at a party.
