yk i was just thinking about how i headcanon revived garmadon to have breathing issues. and. what if has them because of the way he died. literally drowning to death. he's stuck with a chronic fear of water and breathing issues so he constantly feels like he's fighting for breath. every breath he takes is a reminder of his death :(

to make it even worse, what if he had permanent markings over his wrists from where he fought against his chains and thats why his hands tremble constantly. this poor man. :((

For “drowning”, may I give the suggestion of either Lloyd or Kai drowning? Whoever it is remembers the scene from S5 where Kai saves Lloyd from drowning, and then that's the last thing they think of before the water fills their lungs. Maybe Kai/Lloyd would be saved by someone, but it is “bad thing happen bingo” so it's understandable if it's a bad ending too!

That squid thing escaped easily with a laugh, forcing him to fight against the seatbelt holding him against the truck, unable to stop himself from thinking ‘Not again, this is not happening again.’

That's all Kai could think as the large truck hit the water with a large, hard eruption of a splash, giving him just enough time to grab a fast inhale before he was fully submerged.

That squid thing escaped easily with a laugh, forcing him to fight against the seatbelt holding him against the truck, unable to stop himself from thinking ‘Not again, this is not happening again.’

He finally managed to press his fingers against the buckle, letting himself free as he focused on the door, his vision starting to blur and his lungs starting to burn, begging him to exhale.

‘Come on!’ His mind shouted as he pushed and pulled on the handle rapidly to no avail, ‘you've survived this before, you can do it again!’

Kai tried his best to focus on survival, on how he had saved his own and Lloyd's life the last time, despite the fact that all he could manage underwater was a pitiful tread against a current.

But his lungs couldn't handle it anymore and he couldn't stop himself from exhaling as his vision dimmed and he reluctantly surrendered to the darkness.

Only to be violently forced back into the light with small but firm hands pressing against his chest, forcing him to sit up with a harsh, gagging cough while water expelled itself from his lungs.

“Kai! Are you alright?! What happened?!” He heard Master Wu's voice approach him along with two other sets of footsteps, most likely his father and Cole, so he slowly brought himself to his feet, wrapping his arm loosely around his aching chest.

“Fine, but tentacles-” he cut himself off with a cough that added to the aching in his chest, “he got away.”

His head swam as the two children gave his master more details, but until he heard Master Wu consoling them, saying that he was thankful that they had been here, he found himself adding.

“Yeah, if you hadn't been, I'd still be at the bottom of that canal.”

The next thing he knew, he was running despite the throbbing in his chest, desperately trying to catch up to that squid thing even though he was falling behind all of the others.

All he could hope for was being the one to make it out of this in the worst shape.
