I just watched Cinderella a twist in time and Anastasia was SLAYING from the beginning to the end. Change my mind. I used to HATE her in the original Cinderella Disney movie but I felt so bad for her and I relate to her a lot I'm not even kidding 😖😖 I WANT TO HUG HER. She is the moment. She ate and left no crumbs. She slayed the house down (literally). I love her.

Disney Role Reverse🐀
Young Cinderella was so used to getting everything she wanted, until her father remarried Lady Tremaine who had two daughters of her own.
A mysterious accident killed both her father and his new wife before the will could be changed.
Cinderella was left with everything.
Instead of sending her stepsisters Anastasia and Drizella to the poor house she decided to keep them on as lady’s maids in the house hold while she spend her money on luxuries. Drizella takes it upon herself to protect her sister and do everything to keep them safe.
Maybe the up coming ball will be their way out…

I just wanted to say that I really like that Trein is the opposite of the character he’s based on when it comes to parenting. It makes me wonder what his daughters are like, considering that they’re most likely what Anastasia and Drizella could’ve been like had they been raised in a much happier environment.
Tumblr media
Trein’s so wholesome 🥺 I love that he’s such a good dad to his daughters and also a great mentor figure to his boys… Ortho says he thinks of Trein like a grandpa and Trein goes out of his way to keep in touch with Rollo, who isn’t even his student, after witnessing him break down in GloMasq. We all need an adult like Trein in our lives!!
We don’t really know much about twisted!Anastasia and Drizella… Only that they’ve moved out now but are still in contact and worry about their father’s health. I’d really love like to meet them one day and see what the girlies are like. I wonder if Twst would carry over the lore about Anastasia marrying a baker from Cinderella 2? 👀 I always found that romance kinda cute! Anastasia was able to at least free herself from her mother’s control and live happily on her own terms, so I think this would be included and maybe extended to Drizella as well.
I wonder how twisted!Cinderella plays into all of this though??? Trein never mentions having a stepchild of any sort.

"Mother, our troubles are over!"
"A stick?"
"Ooh! Let's beat her with it!"
Okay yeah, I know, that quote comes from the third movie but it's just hilarious and it describes Drizella's character perfectly so that's what you get! (also Cinderella 3 is one of the few good Disney sequels and I'll never stop saying it)
Anyway, here's Drizella, ready for her solo! I wanted to play a bit with her hairstyle and in the end she decided to go with a Snow white vibe, just to spite Cinderella, and I love it 😆

Filled with embarrassment and rage, Donna kicked the two of them out of the home. Her home - it was no longer Cinderella’s. That was something they could both agree on.

Thinking of the Disney Cinderella Timeline
Here's how I think the Cinderella Disney animated movies are supposed to be viewed -- or basically, how it might have happened in linear time in the Disney Cinderella universe:
First, there's "Cinderella", of course. The one where she meets the Fairy Godmother for the first time and gets a lovely gown and glass slippers to go to a ball.
Tumblr media
Then it's Cinderella 2's story "Aim to Please". And it makes sense, as it's clearly stated that the Prince and Cinderella have just returned to the palace after their marriage -- the marriage that happened at the end of the first movie -- before the Prince is whisked off by his father to attend to "Important Matters Of State". So of course that's what happened next.
Tumblr media
After that, I'm guessing that "Tall Tail" happened sometime the same year Cinderella started taking over Princess Duties.
Tumblr media
Because she says, "We sure have a lot of parties around here," indicating that the Banquet she dealt with in "Aim to Please" was likely not too far in the past. Or else, she's had a lot of parties to plan since then.
Now the next story is what is important. I think "Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time" happened next, not "An Uncommon Romance".
And then, after what happened in "A Twist in Time", with Anastasia not giving in to Lady Tremaine's scheme in the end, and the Prince and Cinderella marrying again, and them continuing to live their lives again...
Tumblr media
After all that is likely when "An Uncommon Romance" happened.
Tumblr media
So the actual order is: Cinderella, Aim to Please, Tall Tail, A Twist in Time, and An Uncommon Romance.
Let me justify this idea:
First of all, in Cinderella 2, the mice were bringing up random stories they remembered. Except for the first story, where it's clearly stated that it happened right after the married couple returned and Cinderella was officially a princess, the other 2 stories could have happened at any time at all. (We don't know when the mice are writing these stories, after all. How many years it's been, or how much time has passed. We only know that they're writing stuff that's already happened.)
Tumblr media
Secondly, look at the state of Cinderella's old house in "A Twist in Time". It's awful and the stepsisters are basically given the tasks of cleaning the large house.
Tumblr media
And this actually fits with the first movie, which mentions at the beginning that the chateau was falling into disrepair as Lady Tremaine squandered all their riches on Anastasia and Drizella.
Tumblr media
Basically, Cinderella being a servant was all that was keeping the house together. And after she left with the Prince, the state of the house obviously got worse.
But look at how the house looks in "An Uncommon Romance".
Tumblr media
I didn't notice this the first time I watched Cinderella 2. But I certainly noticed after watching Cinderella 3.
But, the house falling into a further bad state makes sense since the house was already not maintained by anyone other than Cinderella at the very beginning of her story.
So here's my theory:
After Cinderella was taken to the palace by the Grand Duke, she likely put her family right out of her mind. And that makes sense. She's not vindictive at all. But after being treated as she was, keeping them far away from her and never turning in their direction again makes sense. If nothing else, she lays no claim to her house even though it was rightfully hers and she has been maintaining it for years. She just leaves them be and never interacts with them again.
But after the events of "A Twist in Time", while Lady Tremaine is a world-class b**** and horror, Cinderella, with her kind heart, and perfectly aware of how awful Lady Tremaine can be, likey decided that paying for the house's upkeep and inviting her stepsisters to balls might be necessary.
Tumblr media
For one, she likely feels sorry for Anastasia, while also understanding how much courage it must have taken her to go against her mother. She also likely figured that Drizella was in the same position as Anastasia, even if she didn't show it or realize it. Finally, after Anastasia defied her mother in such a way, keeping an eye on them in general might have been necessary to ensure that she didn't mistreat Anastasia.
So, as generous as she is, Cinderella likely put aside her step-family's awful treatment of her to help her step-sisters (and to also likely keep an eye on her step-mother too).
This is further supported by the fact that, in "An Uncommon Romance", Anastasia has a music box with a couple that looks like the Prince and Cinderella. I doubt Lady Tremaine, as vindictive, malicious, and jealous as she is, would have let her have that -- unless she was now living under Cinderella's power.
Lady Tremaine even mentions them going to Cinderella's Ball. Yet another thing I doubt she would have let her daughters go to -- unless snubbing Cinderella that way would be pointedly "not good" for her.
Tumblr media
Yet another point was how, when Lady Tremaine finds Anastasia and the Baker together, while berating her and also manipulating her by saying that she only has her best interests at heart, she says nothing more when Anastasia declares that she is going to Cinderella's ball together with the Baker. No declarations of disowning her. No further manipulations or arguments or forbiddances. Like mentioning Cinderella's name and her ball left her with no option but to stalk away while just ordering Drizella to come with her. Like the only thing she could do now was to assert control over the one remaining daughter she still could control.
Very different from the woman in "A Twist in Time" who spelled the Prince's memories when he recognized that Anastasia was not the girl he had danced with at the ball.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Very different from the woman who sent spells right and left when Anastasia refused to marry the Prince in the end.
Tumblr media
Rather, she held back probably because she knew she would land in hot water if she tried anything. Something was likely holding her in check: The fact that she was basically under probation and lucky to roam free now after attempting treason and murder in Cinderella 3.
Anastasia's reaction is also telling: She is cowed and sad as her mother and Drizella berate her. But the moment her mother says, in a seemingly kind way, that she only has her best interests at heart, it's like a switch flips in Anastasia. And that's when she declares she's wrong and that she IS going to go with the Baker whether she likes it or not.
It wouldn't be surprising if Anastasia heard her having "her best interests at heart" and remembered how her mother had tried to turn the wand on her when she had not married the Prince and instead said that she wanted someone to love her for herself.
And that, in fact, it was Cinderella who had stood up for her to protect her, and the Prince who had deflected the spell to protect Cinderella.
And finally, at the end of "A Twist in Time", the credits scene almost immediately shows the Baker meeting Anastasia. Which we know happens in "An Uncommon Romance". So "An Uncommon Romance" likely happens after the events of "A Twist in Time".
Tumblr media
[ On another note, it really is more poignant when Anastasia tells Cinderella at the end of An Uncommon Romance, "Oh, thank you, thank you! I never dreamed I could be this happy!" and hugs her half-sobbing. Because, in A Twist in Time, she tells Cinderella, "I want what you had," and then, at the end, desperately tells her mother, "I want someone who loves me for me." And Anastasia gets that here. :) ]

More details about how the Isle kids cannot process or interpret emotions....

Yes to all of these.
Ginny doesn't even know what she's feeling.
Mal was raised to be a perfect copy of her mother. But she doesn't want to be her mother, she hates her mother, but she doesn't know what else she is besides a mini-Maleficent, so she hates herself too. Anything that's close to her, she pushes away, rejects, makes them as unlike her as possible. She did it with Maddy. She did it with Uma. She would have done it with Evie, eventually, if they hadn't gone to Auradon.
The only way Jay ever earned his father's approval was through stealing. Even years later, he'll habitually steal little trinkets to gift to Lonnie without even noticing.
Evie doesn't know how to have any relationship with anyone that isn't seducing a prince.
Sammy Smee was raised in an violent environment full of anger and shouting. Even once he was on Harriet's ship, well, Harriet also gets angry, and also shouts, because she was raised in that same environment. Sammy can't understand anything that isn't like that.
Freddie and Celia don't trust anything that's for free. Everything has to be for something. Everything is in exchange for something. No one is simply "friends" with anyone, they have to be getting something out of it. It's only a matter of figuring out what, and making sure you won't be left at a disadvantage. (And it can be inferred that Freddie and Celia had one of the better childhoods on the Isle, so if this is their view on relationships, imagine everyone else's!)
Squeaky and Squirmy trust Sammy to be their provider, their teacher, their caregiver, and no one else. They don't know how to relate to anyone who isn't him. They just sort of shut down. Not with their father, who loved them but never tried to protect them, not like Sammy did. At least Sammy tried. Not with the Hook siblings, who were always getting involved in various dangerous shenanigans and who scare them, just the tiniest bit, even though they also help them and take care of them. No one but Sammy.
Dizzy....Dizzy has two examples: Anthony and Lady Tremaine. (Her mother never even pretended to love her. Her aunt was too beaten down to show it.) Anthony loves her, and everyone knows this. But Anthony was raised to be a lord on an Isle full of the dregs of society, an Isle where everyone ridicules those with pretenses to greatness. Yet his grandmother insisted, and he doesn't know how to show anything but his facade. He tells Dizzy he loves her, and he does, but he speaks coldly, strictly, harshly. He rarely, if ever, shows anger. No outbursts of emotion; hardly any emotion at all. No raising his voice. No playing games, no hugs, none of the things Dizzy would like to do. And Lady Tremaine....she really barely feels any emotion at all, not anymore. Of course she loves Dizzy, she says. She's her grandmother. What kind of grandmother wouldn't love her granddaughter? If only Dizzy would do her chores quicker, better, quieter. If only she would behave well. Then she would surely show Dizzy that she loved her, more than just saying "Of course I love you Dizzy" without even a smile and sending her off to the salon. Or so Dizzy believes, anyway. Anthony has inherited far more of his behavior and mannerisms from his grandmother than he would like to believe.
And Claudine. You see, Frollo usually does not lose his temper. He rarely shouts or rages. He prides himself on keeping perfect control on his emotions. And so Claudine doesn't associate loud noises or shouting with his anger. No, she associates frighteningly calm voices, in an even tone, with no expression, excoriating her with the harshest of words. And of course she thinks she should be hurt. Anyone who cares about her would hurt her as a punishment, so she should learn to do better. She doesn't like it, of course, but it's what has to be done, right? Right?

I hope you know how much joy your next gen art of Anastasia and the baker brought me. As someone who’s lived through abuse her mini story with him always gave me hope that one day I could also find happiness, and seeing you draw her happy and happily married and with a kid genuinely brought a tear to my eye. (in a good way!) Thank you ❤️
This actually had me tearing up at work today so thank you🥺😭
Anastasia and the baker was one of the couples I was most excited for because of their daughter.
Anastasia’s New Life :
- Once Anastasia and the Baker got married she finally escaped her mother and started her life with her true love.
- granted she struggled a little bit due to Anastasia never having a job (many buns were burnt) but she started getting the hang of things and became excellent as decorator for cakes.
- Once Piper was born Anastasia did everything to keep her away from her mother.
- Lady Tremaine passed, Anastasia tried getting in contact with her sister but Drizella already left to who knows where for her own life.
- In the beginning Anastasia was worried she wouldn’t be a good mother (Having no good experience of her own to fall upon) but luckily Cinderella had Allison around the same time so she had plenty of help.
- Anastasia goes out of her way to make sure Piper never feels less then or forced to change herself.
- The two enjoy decorating cakes and dressing up together with Anastasia still enjoying some finer things
Overall very happy life Anastasia has with her new family and loved ones💕

trein and his daughters
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Among the Trein-themed furniture items (available for the current JP Unified Exams), there is a table which includes a bunch of graded papers as well as the photo frame above. In it, we can see two ladies dressed in similar colors as Anastasia and Drizella Tremaine, Cinderella’s two stepsisters. We can assume that these must be their twisted counterparts, and thus Trein’s two adult daughters.
Twisted!Drizella looks like she has a lot of bows on the skirt of her dress, and her hair looks similar to her Disney version’s. Twisted!Anastasia looks a little different than her Disney version; she doesn’t have the golden pin/comb that Anastasia does, and she seems to lack the same bangs. The collar and sleeves for both seem to be the most different aspect of their looks, as Anastasia and Drizella’s gowns don’t have that greyish color.
… This had better not be the closest we get to seeing them, devs 🤡 We need to see their fully detailed designs! Release them!!
They probably won’t appear in Trein’s SSR card vignettes (since the previous staff cards did not feature new characters). However, I’d at the very least like more lore on their relationship! We currently know very little about that outside of a few voiced lines from Trein.
