Fish Oil
Hoax’s treatment was, as always, invasive. It was a kind of dialysis, where her blood was cycled through a machine for hours to rid it of toxins her natural form couldn’t keep up with, for hours on end. It was lucky enough it could be done in her midform to similar effect as her natural state, otherwise it would have been impossible. Not just to rid her of the toxins, but to also perform the other therapies necessary to flush out her organs of their build up.
She often vomited, at least once. Several doctors accused her of doing it on purpose, so she made sure she got it on their shoes when it happened.
But this one, Hoax liked. Doctor Fuhrman, the one in the helmet with the brisk mannerisms who seemed unbothered by Hoax’s brand of “humor” (as the charitable called it). So when she stopped by to check on progress near the end of the dialysis, Hoax merely scowled at her.
“Am I dead now?” she asked, accusatory. “Are you here to finish me off?”

A New Light
((TW: hospitals, description of injuries and blood, a general bad time))
Babette had no idea where she was. She had no idea how she got here.
The last thing she really remembered was an alleyway, intense pain shooting throughout her entire body, the warmth of blood pooling against her shoulders and in her mouth. The sterile white walls and bright lights around her let her know that she was probably in a hospital now. Or dead.
...No, definitely a hospital, she was in too much pain to be dead.
Voices spoke all around her, but it sounded like they were underwater, she couldn’t understand most of what they were saying. Her brain could only catch phrases here and there. Attacked. Swallowed some blood. Already changing.
It hurt too much to think about it, she closed her eyes to the florescent lights above, trying hard to focus on what was going on around her. What was going on?

So. In an effort to finally get healthy and in shape for good, and to stand in solidarity with my amazing gf @cosyq, I have decided to begin eating vegan and gluten free (with some fish here and there so slightly pescatarian). It's only been a few days and a little difficult (aka I'd kill for a hamburger with bacon right now), but I honestly already feel so much better than I have in a long time! So excited to begin this new adventure with Cosette by my side. Today's menu: gluten free bagel with vegan cream cheese! #vegan #glutenfree #drfuhrman

march twenty-one
waddup! important news first: Dave Chappelle came out with two new specials on Netflix today! whoop whoop! also, i purchased tickets to see RHCP in two months! gonna surprise my bro with that for his birthday on Monday!
alright so i realized that most of these posts will be somewhat similar so i might not post everyday and instead post once a week. i plan on sharing my results once i’m done with the BBG program.
my recipes have been roughly the same this week, keeping it easy and simple. also, that zucchini noodle bowl with all the veggies and tofu and chipotle sauce on top is delicious so i have had it for three continuous days. oh, i forgot to buy avocado today so i added extra tofu instead. getting all my nutrients in!
Tumblr media
my smoothie this morning is the only difference today. had 3 bananers, tons of spinach, almond milk, cinnamon and cacao powder. super sweet, easy, and yummy. fast. easy. done.
i had a grape and pineapple salad for lunch. same zucchini bowl as yesterday, minus the avocado. extra tofu.
for dessert i had a fuji apple with pb2 and raisins. side of alverian tea as well.
i did low intensity steady state cardio this morning. meaning i went for a jog, set to 4.7mph for 45 minutes. i’ll be doing this on the days i’m not doing BBG circuits.
so yeah. that’s all. pretty simple formula to follow. just need the brain to follow along as well and that’s the tough part. but not impossible. i got this. you got this. we all got this. our brain is powerful. it can build us. it can destroy us. it’s much more complex than just those little words though. just know that whatever you’re going through you are not alone and you don’t need to go through it on your own. sometimes you might need to journey on your own for a bit, but know that in the end we all need each other. i wish everyone nothing but the best in this life’s journey.
peace.

Fast Food Genocide with Dr. Joel Fuhrman
Did you know that eating fast food regularly has a 7 times higher risk of stroke before 45 years? Dr. Joel Fuhrman, an Ivy League educated MD and an international speaker on nutrition has an important new book out Fast Food genocide which highlights how we are slowly killing ourselves and our children. He does a great job of revealing how unhealthy food is also marginalizing our most vulnerable populations. It causes diseases like heart attacks, strokes, cancer, obesity and more. He offers an inspiring message of natural healing. That we have the power to change our health and that its very easy to implement: just change what you put in your mouth!
Here are key questions he answers and highlights from his answers:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
03:11 1. What is fast food?
- All processed foods
- Food with flour, sugar and oil like candy, soda, donuts, cookies
- Food that can be consumed fast
- These foods contain calories that are densed and are absorbed rapidly in the bloodstream which signals brain stimulation that is addicting
- These food contain synthetic ingredients and chemicals which make them further damaging to the body
- They don't contain significant amount of micronutrients
- Most processed food and junk food lowers intelligence
- The major source of calories the americans consume right now are in the category of fast food
- It also damages our genes resulting to children with lower intelligence, to immune conditions, autism, violence, obesity, diabetes and cancer.
Facts that most people don't know about:
- The consumption of donuts, cupcakes and candies as early age 10 years shows a greater relation with adult crime and illegal drug use than any other parameter including lack of parenting or poverty.
- Majority of the people in federal prisons are there for nonviolent drug related offenses.
- We flood our criminal system with people who are using drugs and this starts with the addiction to sugar and other fast food and processed foods which destroys brain cells and gives an abnormal brain that seeks stimulation later on in life.
- These foods increase violence, aggression, lack of concentration and inability to make logical decisions.
08:08 2. Who did you write Fast Food Genocide for?
- This is a book for everyone to read because people don't know the implications of what they're putting in their mouth.
- Studies show that people who eat fast food just 2 times a week, just 2 servings of white flour, sugar, oil, commercial baked goods a week doubles the risk of depression.
- We underestimate the effects of poor food and poor nutrition on mental illness
- This will allow us to make better decisions in the future, to work together on equality, wellness for all people and to solve healthcare for the people
- Eating just one helping of fries can change your health for the worst. There is no concept of moderation for fried foods just like there's no eating heroine and cocaine in moderation.
15:39 3. How do you switch from a life of convenience?
- Lots of frozen meals are junkfood. But if you freeze fresh vegetables and fruits they still contain over 90% of their original nutrient content.
- The most important thing that's proved to extend human life and extend healthy life expectancy is eating a diet rich in micronutrients.
- Micronutrients do not contain calories. These contain vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals antioxidants.  Many of these are destroyed with heat.
- The pesticide residue is not the major source of disease, but lack of nutrients.
- It is recommended to have mild caloric restriction (not overeating calories)
- A high micronutrient environment includes over a pound need of vegetables/fruits a day
- What makes fastfood dangerous is that its grilled, fried in high flame, and reheating oil increases rancidity.
Effects of fried food:
- These can create cancer cells and damage sperm and eggs. It causes defects in children.
- Fried foods are dangerous one serving of fast food french fries a week increases breast cancer of 26%
- Even low levels of fast food consumption aligns with cancer later on in life
22:00 4. What should a micronutrient rich diet look like? How much toxicity can a body handle through fast food?
What constitutes a good diet:
- A salad a day with some raw calciferous vegetables. The chewing mixes bacteria with the phytochemicals in your mouth.
- Nuts and seeds are a critical longevity cloning food and the best source of fat in the diet. They also prevent cancer and life span. The dressing itself can contain seeds and nuts in it. The fats from the nut and seeds facilitates the absorption of the anti cancer compounds in the vegetables in the meal.
 - 3-5 fresh fruits day.
- Basically, your diet has to be vegetable based, not grain based.
30:42 5. Share with us your favorite recipes, especially for breakfast for kids.
Banana ice cream:
- 2 frozen bananas
- 1 whole heaping teaspoon of ground vanilla bean powder
- macadamia nuts or walnuts
- touch of almond or soy milk
Blend the ingredients.
Apple pie breakfast:
- Shredded apple
-  Raisins
- walnuts & flax seeds which have anticancer effect
- oats
Cook for 5 mins. on stove
Smoothie:
- Mangoes and pineapple with kale and other greens and flaxseeds
- You can also make chocolate cake made with zuchhini and carrots. Even, Bean brownies.
37:37 6. What's a food desert?
- There are areas in the country where you can only buy in convenience stores and fast food restaurants. People in these areas have 10x risk of heart attacks which is the leading cause of death in america. There is also more dementia, obesity, brain damage, more problems as well as poverty.
- Fast foods you've eaten in your childhood and teenage years damages your children.
42:04 7. What is the easiest change they can make to get going on this lifestyle redesign journey?
- Eat a bowl of salad everyday.
- Have something with beans everyday.
- Don't accept sickness!
- Don't accept drugs for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes.
- Food can solve your headaches, get rid of asthma, can help resolve autoimmune conditions.
- Food is more effective than medications.
- Don't think that you're avenue for health is going to doctors and taking pills.  That's for emergencies!
- Take charge of your own health. You can control your own health destiny for a longer and happier life.
- Food is the answer.

Brunch today via Dr. Fuhrman’s Radical Weight Loss plan from his book The End of Heart Disease. I have not been eating for weight loss. I have been eating for health. But I thought I could do this a few days as a cleanse. There is one zucchini and one sweet onion with dill seasoning and creole seasoning. In the smoothie I put a handful of spinach, a cup of frozen raspberries, a cup of water and 1 tablespoon of hemp seed/chia seed/flax seed combo. I also made a cup of herbal tea with lemon 🍋. Btw, I do not have heart disease but I figure everyone can stand to think about their heart health sometimes. . . . #nutritarian #drfuhrman #heartdisease #healthyeating #zucchininoodles #zucchini #onion #sweetonion #smoothies #flaxseed #herbaltea #veganlifestyle #vegancommunity #govegan #eathealthyfood #ilikethat #veganbrunch #cleaneating #veganlifestyle #whatveganseat #whatsonmyplate #whatvegetarianseat #vegetariansofig #yummmm #poppingplants #plantbaseddiet #plantbasedliving #eattolive #weightlosstips #iloveveggies #eatyourveggies

1 cup thinly sliced red bell pepper strips
2 cups trimmed snow peas
2 cups sliced shiitake mushrooms
2 cups shredded Chinese cabbage
DIRECTIONS – To make the sauce: Blend water or non-dairy milk and dates in a high-powered blender, then add peanut butter, hemp seeds, coconut, ginger, lemon grass paste, curry powder and turmeric and blend again until smooth and well-combined.
DIRECTIONS – To cook the vegetables: Heat 1/4 cup water in a large non-stick wok or skillet, then add chopped onions and broccoli, cover and cook for 4 minutes stirring occasionally and adding additional water as needed to prevent sticking. Remove cover and add red bell pepper strips, snow peas, shiitake mushrooms and Chinese cabbage and cook for an additional 4 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender. Add desired amount of sauce and continue to stir fry for 1-2 minutes to heat through.
