Lovers Reunited

He will never ask,

She will never say,

So they remain,

Two fools - withering away.

He doesn't say,

What she wants any way,

So he goes quiet,

Only to be told instead, he caused a riot.

If only had he tried,

to say what was on his mind,

his aching heart she would have held,

kissed away his cares all night.

In his attempts he did try,

Even when his mind was but a mess,

All he managed was to make her cry,

In his withering heart he never loved her less.

Is there less or more,

In the insanity of love?

Is there ever a choice?

For she lies here sleepless, hapless

wilting away, petal by petal

longing for but his voice!

Perhaps there was,

But never for him,

For his heart refused to beat for another,

You wilt away in a silence,

Ensuing because of the absence of his voice,

Brought about from the fear of losing you.

Fear not, love, the rising tide,

No need to look back,

No cause to hide

Our strength we've found

In being one

Shall make all old knots

come undone

Fear not you say,

Will you then take me away,

For I will not look back,

But it is courage I lack,
