A message to anyone who's into lofi music on Youtube: One of my favorite lo-fi channels, Dreamhop, posted a video yesterday called "Lofi beats for exploring Hogwarts Legacy". A sizeable chunk of the comments was people explaining they're unsubscribing because they can't support a channel that endorses a transphobic, antisemitic game.

Dreamhop has since turned off the comments and renamed the video "lofi beats for witches and wizards".

Direct action works. Boycotting works.

But also, Dreamhop hasn't apologized, and by turning off the comments, removed evidence of the community condemning them. At best, Dreamhop is ignorant to the plight of the trans and Jewish community, valuing clicks over morality. At worst, they actually align with JKR's ideology. Unless proven otherwise, that channel is not safe anymore. I figured maybe people on here wanna know that.

Music Recs #1

As someone who has a crap ton of music spanning across a wide variety of genres, I figured I'd rec some artists/groups with you. When I say a crap ton, I mean thousands of music tracks. No such thing as too much music, right? I personally use Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music, and BOOTH to legally purchase/stream music. If you can support the artists by buying their albums/tracks directly, I'd advise that over anything else!

If any of you guys are into Lo-Fi/Chill music (I listen to it while studying, personally,) I'm recommending some artists/record labels: Purrple Cat, Jazz Hop Cafe, Dreamhop Music, and College Music Records.

I mean, how long haven't they slept? If I remember correctly, they haven't taken a nap since Lilia's dream (in the camp)…And they've been dreamhopping for quite a while… Aren't they physically tired? I know I know, it's all a dream world, but still…Have the rules changed?

HELLO SAMPARD NATION!!! I return for sampard week. Unfortunately I will not be able to partake in any of the actual prompt lists. BUT I wanted to do something because it’s one of my favorite ships kind of ever so I thought “why not finally make a full piece about a sampard based au I’ve had for a while?”so as you can see that’s what I did lol. The au I call it the dreamhopper au and basically to summarize; Gepard has really bad night terrors, and in this au Sampo has the ability to dreamhop and basically kinda messes with Gepard and they get into situations and hyjinx ensues. Of course him “messing” with Gepard also doubles to serve to keep Gepard’s night terrors away so he can actually sleep. But erm yeah :D happy sampard week!!

redesign of my old ponysona, dreamie. he is no longer my ponysona ofc (im just a normie pegasus now) so this version of him would be a villain of sorts in the mlp universe. he shows up in people’s dreams and traps them there because he thinks they’ll be happier that way, playing with him forever in their strange dreamscapes. i’m sure he’d become an enemy of princess luna once she discovered what he was doing. there are rumors that he was once a normal pony who became so disillusioned with real life that he never wanted to wake up from his dreams, so he cast a spell that transformed him into the dreamhopping weirdo he is today

Oooh, Jazz Hop Cafe and Dreamhop Music are my two favorites! I have one or the other playing basically all day as I work.

My favorite Dreamhop mix is Atlas Terminal.

I wonder if we get to visit everyone else's dreams or we just go straight to Diasomnia, Ramshackle and Ignihyde beating Malleus and everyone wakes up 🤔

I mean, as much as I'd like to see what everyone is dreaming about (and get my heart broken cuz I know some of the dreams are going to make me cry), I know the latter option is the more practical option both plot and in-story wise.

Even though book 7 will inevitably be longer than previous books, I definitely don’t think it will have time to dream hop into the rest of the cast’s heads (and especially not in detail). That would make book 7 hundreds of chapters long (and we’re already at like… what, 7-87 even though we’ve visited only like 3-4 dreams at this point 😭 One of those dreams belongs to Mickey, who isn’t even a NRC student, then there is Lilia and Sebek, and finally Idia who doesn’t really count because we have yet to physically enter his dream.)

We alone already spent several tens of chapters in Lilia’s dreamscape, not to mention got hit with a TON of deep lore along the way… It would just feel too clashing (because not everyone has a traumatic/sad backstory to explore) or bloated (have you seen how big the cast is?) to try and cram everyone else in. It would also call attention away from who the book should be focusing on: Diasomnia, with a sprinkle of Ignihyde. Furthermore, it would unnecessarily make book 7 drag on without allowing for meaningful advances in the central conflict 💦

Like… sure, I’d love to wiggle around in Jade’s dream, but what purpose does that serve to the grander narrative???? Not a whole lot. If TWST wants to do a “everyone bands together with the power of friendship to beat the big baddie” thing, it would be more succinct for everyone to be awoken at once by the rescue squad and then pitch in, rather then the rescue squad sequentially (and randomly, since Silver cannot choose where he dreamhops) deprogram each of them.
