The Burning Steppes

Brown and orange dirt clung to Jerrith's brow, sticking to the beads of sweat that seemed to never go away, no matter how many times he wiped at his brow.  This place was just as hot as Voldun, but not quite as dry, like some hellish cross between the arid deserts and the humid swamps of Nazmir.  A droplet trickled down between his red eyebrows and down the side of his nose, making a clean path to the end of his nose where it finally fell to the ground onto the 'map' made out rocks, sticks, and little carvings courtesy of Nikolai.

The warrior, older than Jerrith by nearly a decade, had no small skill with map making and had drawn this one out for the Sanguine Song more accurately and in a shorter amount of time than it would have taken to dig out the maps of the Burning Steppes that they possessed.  Speaking to Sir Chaynal and several other of the more veteran paladins, Jerrith motioned to the a thin scratch in the ashy soil.

"They'll pass Dreadmaul Rock tomorrow, turning off to the west on their way to Black Tooth Hovel - passing close to a small Alliance outpost called Chislegrip along the way. This is a caravan, not a war party so it's not likely they'll attack Chiselgrip - in fact, they'll go out of their way to avoid contact. Our best point of attack would be here..."

Jerrith drew a line between two curves that Nikolai had drawn on the map to indicate mountains.   "The Valley of Ashes - there are mountains to either side, leaving them fewer places to run.  We'll fly in just before sunset when they're tired and weary from the road and think themselves safe being close to their destination.  The scouts have reported lava imps still active on the ground in that area so we'll stay to the air as much as possible with dive maneuvers.  We have enough spears to outfit each rider with five if we send in half our number, which will be more than enough to defeat a simple caravan and take control of the supply line."

The lad looked up at Sir Chaynal and the others, pausing to let the older, more experienced soldiers make any corrections to his plan. When no argument was forth coming, Sir Chaynal nodded and smiled, "Well done, select your men and prepare them for battle." He said to Jerrith then turned to step out of the tent, leaving Jerrith to carry out the orders.

"They're coming."  Gnarg, out of breath and bleeding from a dozen wounds would have collapsed to the ground after that statement if not caught by one of his near by kin.  The standing orc - a female  outfitted in spiked red armor held wounded Orc by his throat and lifted him back up to his feet.  "What did you say?"  She hissed, leaning in so close that the male could smell her foul breath and see her yellowing tusks clearly.  

"They're....com...ing."  Gnarg grunted out.  

"Who? Who is coming?" The armored female demanded, her muscles bulging from the strain of holding the larger male up with one arm.  

"The hu-mans...paladins..."  The male struggled to say, "From Redridge...fly..flying on gryphons-- they call themselves the...Sanguine...Song.."

Sharn, the female, gave Gnarg a little shake before she let him go and watched without pity as he fell to his knees. He was weak by her estimation.  "How many?" She asked and watched as a look of panic stuck Gnarg's ugly green face and knew immediately that he probably didn't know how to count - he looked and acted like a peon.  

"As many as us?" She barked and roughly turned Gnarg around to  look at the Black Tooth camp.   Gnarg stupidly shook his head and wheezed, "No.  More." The Black Rock male decided.   Sharn frowned - but then, she always seemed to be doing that.  The female roared and banged her spear on the large rib bone of a dragon that made up the structure of one of the hovels, drawing the attention of the other Orcs around her.  

"We will make it easy for these human paladins..." Sharn spat having been at war with humans long enough to understand what they would hit first if they were indeed here.  They would try to weaken them.  "Send a runner to Garekk, the leader of the caravan, tell him we have some extra cargo and you..."  She jabbed her spear towards Gnarg, "You are going to go to the next village and warn them and tell them to send their warriors to Garekk."

Manual for Explore Burning Steppes Achievement

Consuming Steppes is a zone on the landmass of Eastern Kingdoms in the World of Warcraft game. The zone has a no man's land natural feel to it. . Consuming Steppes has journeys for players leveled 50-58. The territory isn't constrained by either group and has missions for the two groups. There is one prison or assault situated in this zone.

Situated toward the north of Redridge Mountains, Burning Steppes is a rough zone populated with magma pools and mountains. Being arranged near Stormwind, the zone is overpowering custom fitted for the Alliance. There are no Horde places to stay in the zone yet there are impartial flight point for the Horde to get to.

The north west region of the zone offers admittance to Blackrock Mountain. For those not aware of everything, Blackrock Mountain is a huge empty mountain, the biggest of its sort in the entire of the game. Inside the mountain and one outside are passageways to various examples, both prison and attacks. The last assault was included Cataclysm and is open outwardly of the mountain utilizing flight.

This is an old scrapped idea of mine I had to connect A Dance With The Devil and Unobtainable on AO3. It had been fermenting in my mind for a week and a half before I actually wrote it out. I originally intended for ADWTD to be an oc x canon fic with Izzy and my oc Killian (Illya, as referred to in the oneshot) as a kind of short almost "one night stand" kind of things before Illya's story progressed back to his original ship. Now, this is only a oneshot, not gonna be more than that because oc x canon just doesn't do it for me anymore.

Please be brutally honest with me- I know it's cringe and weird, but I actually really like this one.

History World of Warcraft

Bloodmage Drazial was originally stationed near the entrance to the Blasted Lands, and offered repeatable quests for buff items.

Since the Cataclysm, he has relocated to a cave near the Altar of Storms. He no longer offers quests to Alliance adventurers, even though he remains friendly to them.

He can be seen using the Bloodstone Teleporter.

It is unknown what happened with him after the arrival of the Iron Horde, since their chamber was occupied by a Dreadmaul Flamebelcher.
