#Repost @drcindymduke ・・・ Did you know, Men can get Breast Cancer too? I know because a male relative of mine did... * Compared to Breast Cancer in women, it’s rare! Less than 1% (1 in 1000) of men will get Breast Cancer. However, if caught early, a man with Breast Cancer has exceptional chances of surviving the disease. * While diagnosis and treatment of Breast Cancer in men is similar to the process for women, it is highly recommended that any man with Breast Cancer get genetic testing to see if he is a carrier for the Breast Cancer gene (e.g BRCA). This is important to do because if he has a daughter who inherits the gene, she has an up to 80% chance of developing breast cancer and up to 40% chance of developing ovarian cancer. In addition, he and his sons, if they inherit the gene, are at risk for developing prostate cancer at a young age. * So, how can a guy get screened for Breast Cancer? Firstly, he or his healthcare provider should do a Breast exam. Specifically, if you feel a hard lump or growth underneath the nipple or areola, you should get it checked out, ASAP. Men carry a higher mortality, from Breast Cancer, than women do, because awareness among men is less and they are less likely to assume a lump is Breast Cancer, which can cause a delay in seeking treatment. * Which men seem to be at higher risk for developing Breast Cancer? Those with first degree relatives (Dad, Mom, Brother, Sister) who had Breast Cancer, those with history of exposure to radiation or those exposed to prolonged and high levels of estrogen hormone. * If you’re a guy, or you know a guy, who might be high risk for developing Breast Cancer, go see your healthcare provider. Get examined. Get genetic counseling. * 💕💕Early Detection Saves Lives!💕💕 * #rethinkpink #breastcancerawareness #mengetbreastcancertoo #earlydetectionsaveslives #blueribboncampaign #familymedicine #hormonetherapy #iseeyououtherelookinglikeablessing #iseeyououtherelookinglikeablessingBeatCancer https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo8aEfglj1D/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1n39daiibw22m

Studies have shown that high protein intake from meat was linked to an up to 32% higher chance of developing infertility. I suggest replacing some of the meat protein in your diet with protein from vegetables, beans, lentils and nuts to decrease your risk of infertility while also improving your overall health.

In this video, Dr. Cindy Duke interviewed Dr. Eduardo Hariton MD, MBA  (@haritonmd) to answer the top question that many physicians face today. Dr. Hariton is an expert in Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology who specializes in the fertility space. He combines his clinical and business backgrounds to treat patients and improve fertility services. Also, he serves as an advisor to early stage healthcare companies.
What is the challenge as an Obstetrician-Gynecologist (Ob/Gyn) and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) Fellow in the time of COVID-19?
(1) It feels like we've been sprinting since March since we do not have answer to people's questions
(2) It's been harder to reassure people that everything's going to be okay
(3) We are trying to consume as much information as I can because we are dealing with the pandemic head-on
(4) Keeping everybody as informed and as calm as possible remains challenging because of the disparity when it comes to information access.

The world has a lot of questions about COVID-19 that your doctor might probably tell you, I don't know. This lack of information makes it difficult for doctors to explain to their patients how they can prevent an infection. Dr. Eduardo Hariton (@haritonmd), an expert in Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology, explained his strategy on informing his patients despite the uncertainties.
These are the highlights of his strategy:
✔️Explain the risks that pregnant patients are exposed to while they do necessary activities
✔️Learning how to practice cautiousness in doing daily activities (such as doing the groceries and earning money)
✔️Educating patients to ask the right questions to their physicians so that they can decide what's right for themselves

Eating a selection of healthy foods helps to prepare your body for pregnancy. By this, you store an adequate amount of critical nutrients such as calcium, protein, and iron.

Based on current statistics, men, in general, are more vulnerable in getting chronic conditions brought by the SARS-CoV-2.  Does this vulnerability affect women during intimate moments?
In this video, Dr. Cindy Duke and Dr. Eduardo Hariton (@haritonmd) talked about the trends for women and pregnancy and debunked the narrative that COVID-19 can be transmitted through sexual intercourse since no data proves this hypothesis yet.
Also, Dr. Hariton  clarified that there has been no record of vertical transmission that is, the passing on of the virus from mother to the baby, based on testimonies of pregnant women in their third trimester in Wuhan, China. However, it is still not an assurance that it won't happen. At least, there is no available data to prove the occurrence of vertical transmission like Zika and Varicella virus.
