So lemme explain.

These two men have the same acting chops. I'd think they'd be fantastic together as kin. In general though, they gone show up for part!

My point is proven here

• Algee Smith as Larry in Detroit (2017)

• Zamani Mbatha as Siya (2022) in Brave Ones

Now hold on!! Algee's character I'd say was in a more prolonged high-intense, life or death situation than Siya. But! The moments we DO see Siya in the more dramatic parts had my attention!

Though Zamani's character is a singer in the show, I don't know if he got singing chops like Algee but that's not the focus

With that being said...

I think they would be GREAT as the adult in this work of art. Notably, Zamani since we've already seen him in a world with magic and supernatural elements involved.

Be on the lookout for them both cause they with the dramatics! Period!

How My Drama Journey Started: - starts off from dramas that have been dubbed in my native tongue, Hmong, and these generally varies from Chinese Dramas, Taiwanese Dramas, Korean Dramas and Thai Dramas (mainly on VHS, DVD and old Youtube) - then learning that there's specific websites that broadcast dramas, ex. VIKI, Dramacool etc.

Am I Watching Dramas Now? Unforunately, I am not binge watching any dramas at the moment. I am falling under the "Short Clip" or "Special Clip" where watching snippets of dramas are enough to keep me alive (i cannot handle anymore filler nonsense). Having watched so many dramas in my life, I can already pin-point where the plot is gonna go and it's not as exciting to me anymore (that also means I am growing up lmao).

"Good" Acting

i have a theory that a lot of people say acting is "good" when they're emotionally moved by it, and a lot of cishet white people have a lifelong habit of not listening or empathising when minoritised people speak, so minority actors get called "bad" even when they display some pretty fucking amazing technical skill

#also a lot of female actors don't get recognised despite being fucking GOOD #that's not to say minority actors can't always be bad #of course we can #I'm just saying #sometimes #for SOME shows in particular #ahem ahem #some actors might get very heavily criticised for reasons that have very little to do with their actual technical skill #and more to do with the politics of those criticising them #also I'm not talking about me here #before anyone says that #I'm talking about some actors I know who have recently been criticised in my opinion quite unfairly #despite doing something very difficult #like oooohhh i dunno #playing two roles in the same show?#and doing it very well #displaying some amazing technical mastery of body and voice technique #but hey what do I know #oh wait I went to drama school and I'm a professional actor lol I DO know #I'm just a woman so I have to couch my expertise in cutesy self-deprecation lest people think I'm a bitch
