Day 5 - Drake, the manager of the Scorpion Casino for @layton-npc-appreciation-week

He is dedicated to keeping peace and order in his casino, which he does with his polite manner and (apparently) deadly gaze when his shades come off. He does all of this to please his benefactor, Mr. Henry Ledore. Also, his hairstyle is shaped kind of like a scorpion. I love this npc.

Using AI to reveal NPCs biggest secrets:

It has come to my attention that when it comes to the Layton series, I have a type.

For some reason, I am obsessed with most of the male characters that wear sunglasses. Who knows why. Maybe it's the mysterious vibe they give off?

But one thing that drives me crazy is that we have no idea what they look like under their glasses. What do their eyes look like? I need to know!!!

Rather than attempt to create it by myself, I decided to use an AI to show me what they look like on my behalf.

Let's see what it came up with:

Rook:

Perfect. He looks 1000% done with everything and everyone around him. He's rolling his eyes so far back he's almost blind.

Bishop:

I'm conflicted about this one. On one hand I like to draw Bishop with this exact eye type because I think it looks cute. However, after seeing it on his sprite, I'm not too sure it suits him.

Sammy Thunder:

Drake:

Drake looks really cool with red eyes. They make him look pretty scary and intense. But his eyes also look quite soft and kind, which matches his character perfectly. If only he had some eyebrows.

Swift:

And I thought Swift couldn't get anymore terrifying. I never considered purple as his eye colour, but I think it suits him. The white pupils also give him a more intense stare. You don't wanna mess with this guy.

NPC appreciation week: day 5 - Miracle Mask

Madame Lapushka (or Ludmilla in the UK version) and Drake The vintage costume shop owner and the manager of Scorpion Casino. They don’t interact in canon but I was taken with both of them. Lapushka is so sweet and knowledgeable about the comings and goings of Monte d’Or. And Drake made me laugh, with his sunglasses hiding an “intense glare” mooning over Henry to anyone who would listen. - Lapushka’s helping him find a costume for some sort of event... maybe a masquerade ball...
