Hey Mikail, what are your current theories about this Vanished Prince and why they might have decided to visit Alternia, of all places?

"Well, I've got next to nothing on him, just that one passing mention and the tips I received."

"Which were inconsistent to boot, so I'm taking their veracity with a grain of salt. There's nothing so far proving that he is on Alternia; He's just abandoned his post in the Abyss."

"As for why he might be on Alternia, though- Alternia is basically a highly desired vacation spot for demons. There's plenty of misery to go around, and a fair few trolls who are willing to give their souls to get ahead in the rat race."

"The reason there aren't demons just running amok, is that they're strongly bound to the Abyss. They can't just traipse over here without a native connection- A summoning. Possession of a troll body presents a permanent native connection allowing them to travel freely between their home plane, and the one they have that connection to."

"Though, there are instances of demons opening portals to invade other planes, as far as I'm aware it hasn't happened on Alternia yet- Likely thanks to the protection of our various deities."

"In any case, it's probably safe to say our prince was summoned, or escaped to another plane. Why, or which one, I have no idea."

"The reason I'm looking into this at all, when I have no proof that he's here... Just a gut feeling. I just hope I'm wrong."

MAJESTY AND MYTHOS

FULL EXPLANATION AND PROCESS:

Earliest drafts:

Original the concept was inspired by Dragonmom, [REDACTED], who is in-character known for destroying several cities during a rampage a few sweeps/years ago but also like. mother nature.

In character, Aelynn did get all the materials and start on this, and was planning on making a counterpart outfit for her twin brother, but ended up not liking how it was turning out and scrapped the project.

CONCEPT 2 SKETCH

i'll type out all the writing on there + unwritten thoughts/elaboration

villainess knight vibes, but the beast lies beneath

fake horns for a scarier silhouette (also she canonically already had the materials to make fake horns)

lots of sharp points for hostile shape language

ghoul claws and eyes on for "beast"

tail still included in design because she already had the materials and it worked well for beast

red roses as a reoccurring theme each year to tie her outfits together, and also red is a 'dangerous' colour

holding something? gotta be something that fits the evil/villain concept

shoulder + knee armour for knight

"spine" down the centre of the chest

skull buttons, but might be too cheesy

wanted to cover the eye with dragonmom's symbol, while she's now dressing as a villain she doesn't want to represent dragonmom now

FINAL SKETCH

added a lot more chains, removed some of the 'knight' concept, did plan briefly for her to hold a sword for that, but thought the dress shape was better more for the royalty/princess aspect

didn't remove the shoulder armour though because. i like it.

more spikes for the beast/dangerous silhouette

didn't like that the chest was the only place with a bone/spine feature, so also included it in the tail. i tried to add some of it to the gloves as well but it just didn't look good.

speaking of the gloves, i made it so the gloves actually have a faint divide into her real hands for the sake of in-character being able to return her hands to normal for interacting with people, since her claws ARE extremely sharp, but when she has them turned they blend in almost perfectly

LINES + FLATS

make the heels ALSO spine just to have it reoccurring again

very dark palette but with the lighter purply-silver chains breaking it up

"red wine" is tinted closer to tyrian for. reasons. (eating seadweller reasons) (its not actually blood though)

tiara is replaced with a hair accessory tying some of her hair in a bun - in traditional formal settings, your hair should ALWAYS be up by classical western rules - and while aelynn isn't going to completely conform to that, she has enough hair that she can tie some up just for the appearance

still has a tiara SHAPE though for majesty/royalty reasons

she has her ghoul split-mouth not properly pressed closed for the fang shape it puts across her cheek for beast reasons - but she has good control and will not be opening the mouth past what a normal troll can do so it just looks cosmetic

Thorns lace detail in the corset, thorns are often used in fairy tales (sleeping beauty, the original rapunzel) to ward off rescuers

Dripping "blood" makeup on one eye, just for drama really

Background is just an alternian skyline but with 'towers' and 'castle' like structure for the majesty theme

reduced the amount of shine in her eyes. it was too innocent and not evil looking enough.

(Homestuck AU... Heavenstuck?)

Xie Lian as a punky fish alien/narrative embodiment.

for the non-homestucks among us, this version of Xie Lian is a troll, a species from the universe preceding the human one, they have a blood-color based caste system with fuchsia at the top and rust at the bottom- it sucks. they are raised by creatures called lusus (plural is lusii) instead of parents, because parents are a human concept and trolls are different in terms of biology anyway.

with that (probably insufficient) explanation out of the way:

Xie Lian as a hemoanonymous fuchsia - kinda obvious? royalty in hiding.

Uses Callie's silvery color :)

the Signless follower/fan thing - He Would. (really it's less a 'follower' thing and more of a kind of philosophy thing? but also not really? ...its complicated.)

Xie Lian definitely has some version of 'can't keep down the clown' immortality. but like, jester style.

Fangxin is a stupidly overpowered demon sword that can cause an apocalypse. what else is new.

continuing from that last point, it was specifically made from the White King Scepter and the Black Queen Ring, in the 'Beforus' session. BWX got it as an 'inheritance' from his prescratch self, then 'passed it on' to XL during this AU's equivalent of book 4.

In this AU I think that the 'surface levels' of Alternia and Beforus are switched, with A!Trollworld being more glorified and appearing as a 'good' society, and B!Trollworld being more blatant about its shittiness.

The symbol is a heavily abstracted representation of the celestial alignment called the Ominous Star.

This AU's reason for the neck bandages is that his gills are permanently damaged (until godtier). Kinda equivalent to the cursed shackle, taking away his status as a seadweller?

Ruoye was unintentionally majyyked into existence sorta like in canon (100 swords, dragonmom's death, hanging), 'xept I havent figured out the exact logistics of that yet.

The Sprite^2 Ring Situation is complicated and involves some ill-advised prototyping from the human (ghost) session Jade-style and the cross-session transportayeeting of HC's dreamself's corpse. I'll get into that when I do his side of things.

I have Muse of Space as XL's classpect because my personal interpretation of the Muse class is 'one who enables/embodies/reveals/inspires and/or is enabled/embodied/revealed/inspired by their aspect' as the variation on 'command' - with the narrative side of Space being stage/setting/creation, as well as the whole isolation and sacrifice thing.

( note: I had a whole rant here about how, in contrast, the Lord class is 'one who forces/drives/declares/instructs and/or is forced/driven/declared/instructed by their aspect' as counterpart forms of the 'command' verb but that got eaten by the drafts T-T )

Xie Lian IS the narrative of TGCF. It wouldn't happen without him - his presence was necessary/implied before his character was even conceptualized - he is what enables, what //allows// the story to occur - his movement through the world is what reveals all of the things lurking beneath the surface - he inspires a significant portion of the stories events, as well as inspiring change within many of the characters -

More than any of that, Xie Lian embodies TGCF- in the same way that Callie represents fandom within the text of Homestuck, which is at its core a story about stories, Xie Lian represents the philosophical and mythological core of TGCF.

All this started because I noticed that Hua Cheng is basically an even gayer, paletteswapped version of Vriska.

Here's a crazy One Piece theory I made up at 4 am.

You guys know about the Crocomom theory? That where people believe that Crocodile might actually be Luffy's mom. In that scenario, Crocodile would have been a woman and only became a man after meeting Ivankov. That theory is backed by the interaction between Crocodile and Ivankov in Impel Down.

I'm not saying that Crocodile wasn't turned into a man by Ivankov. In the One Piece world, that's actually plausible.

But I got a crazy theory for you guys that has absolutely no grounds, but I thought was kinda funny.

You know how Ivankov and Dragon are allies and friends?

Do you guys see where I'm going?

What if Dragon was actually Luffy's mom.

I don't know why I thought about that, but that seems pretty funny to me. That would be Dragonmom instead of Crocomom.

Pyralspite (large) is, yeah, the scalemate aka stuffed dragon from Homestuck, canonically named for the dragonmom and assistant of Terezi’s ancestor Neophyte Redglare, and later ally of rebel leader…never mind. I semi-stole her from the friend who got me into Homestuck. Terezi is a favorite character.

lmaoo at hanma having fun while kakucho isnt xD not all right hand men are born equal. on the flipside, i feel like manila kakucho and mikey wouldve gotten along, being essentially empty inside and also izana's living weapons. u mean u have a kisaiza darkfic set during the height of their rule when mikey is still alive? of course i'm into that xD

gotta wonder about dragons and religion cause there's definitely some stuff to dig here. i don't know if you've ever played fire emblem three houses, but in it there's a whole ass fake religion that's been made up by a dragon shapeshifting lady to divide and control the humans after her dragonmom's death at the hands of them, and after like 1000 years she uses her influence and shady magic to try and revive her mom into a human vessel (somehow the blue dragon in vox machina reminded me of all that. those darn dragons always causing problems!) i feel like there could be dragons and also dark magic surrounding shinichiro and mikey. shinichiro mightve sacrificed himself or maybe a dragon to revive mikey but mikey came back Wrong. not sure where kazutora fits in all this, at first i just made him a musician cause he's in a band in the final timeline xD but other than that he'd probably be more qualified as a thief/mercenary. maybe he intruded on the ceremony of mikey's ressurrection hoping to steal something (he wasnt expecting to find anyone in the castle's underground tunnels, also baji helped him bc he knows the castle well. neither of them knew mikey was dead, they were told he was sick and decided to look for uhhh some sort of mcguffin that is supposed to be sealed under the castle and could heal any illness (let's go with that for now lol)) and then he broke shin's concentration at the worst possible time (oopsie)

and that's not even half the cast yet xD koko as a merchant and inupi as his bodyguard of sorts, maybe a mercenary too (he doesn't seem very knight-like to me, then again neither does hanma lmao except for the loyalty part)

"kisaki" is homonymous with the japanese word for queen/empress (more specifically: the king/emperor's wife) and idk i feel like there's something to be done with that
