Wakes up in a cold sweat
What if there was a dragonmaw orc that was actually a black whelp/drake who had something happen to them that they couldn't use their wings anymore so they disguised themselves as a random dragonmaw orc they found (and promptly killed) played their lack of knowledge as memory loss and they got close to Wrathion and Ebonhorn during BFA/Nzoth thing-
Falls back asleep
EDIT: Also they're trans

How about a single thing done that involves both pride and wrath? |D
She landed on the ship to the accompaniment of splintering wood - and little else, despite the fact that her own sloop's boarding party were preparing for what was now the inevitable.
Rare, the opportunity to embrace her more demonic self - hooves, and all - a towering 'Nathrezim' - to the untrained eye - whose very presence inspired awe, desire, fascination... none of the enemy crew moved, despite being armed to the teeth.
"Idiots!"
The sea-weathered Orc snarled at his men - she even let the enemy Captain stomp over to one, and run him through, as if to make an example of them to the others... though the rest remained too spellbound to even notice.
What hurry was she in? The minds of the weak were putty, and it amused to watch the strong-willed rail against the fact that they could not rely on sheer numbers to do the job.
"You always relied on your underlings to do your dirty work. Easily manipulated grunts, too feeble of mind to ever ask a question; too weak-willed to stand their ground... it's no wonder you fled to the sea, when your plans to conquer Man, Elven, and Dragon-kind eventually - and inevitably - failed."
The only sounds to break the silence - besides the dark-skinned Orc's snarling - was that of hooves on wood, as she finally approached the equally-hulking figure, "You probably have questions about why a 'demon' would defend the honor of any of those races - but I'm not in a sharing mood, and... really, the mere fact that you were bold enough to not only come out of hiding... but to approach the Isles? Well. That's a bit upsetting."
She could smell the smoke as if it were yesterday; could hear the beating of wings, and the cries of the tortured drakes. The crew around her came to life - almost as one, turning their eyes to the Orcish Captain, blades of all kinds raised.
"I was going to consume your soul, but... having witnessed the afterlife first-hand, I daresay there's a few 'people' waiting to help you atone for such grievous sins... rest assured, however, that whatever is left of your crew will follow shortly after they're through with you."
He swung too late - or had he? She'd been there... was still there, but - his own crew were upon the towering Orc like fleas on a dog. He shook them off, he cut them down... and yet they dragged him down with them, in the end.
Her dirty work done for her, the crew of the Daybreak could now loot whatever they liked, frankly - this raid had been a matter of pride, more than a matter of money-making, for once; this close to the Isles, the act even threatened to lift the veil of previous misdeeds at sea.
But it was worth it. Elves had long memories, after all - and she was not as forgiving as the dragons were - she loved Eryth, he was a stalwart friend, but the red flight's compulsion to forgive and forget would be their downfall.
#thanks for asking!#sin'dorei#feblood#wow rp#dragon isles#piracy... sort of#I'll be honest this was a really hard one#she is not a prideful creature normally... at all#too much self-loathing for that#so have like the one time ever she's going to do piracy for a reason that isn't 'I'm a broke noble and a hungry demon'#and it's just sort of twisted loyalty to friends she thinks are too forgiving - so it's a fucked up sort of 'good gesture'#RIP if she finds out you were a blackrock/dragonmaw orc who once enslaved dragons btw

I'm just saying adding that it is something Blizzard does often, that is have a character do terrible awful things and than be presented as a saintly neutral quest giver that has done nothing wrong.
You know, I see where you're coming from, but I have to disagree on it. When we take quests from, say, Illidan in Legion, the narrative has already gone through all of Illidan's history and addressed them. Maiev has had the narrative address her history (loosely, in terms of Wolfheart, but they have acknowledged that book again). Jaina is a shining example of literally always having to pay her karmic debts.
The narrative does not acknowledge that the Red Dragonflight, the protectors of life, kill and magically alter unborn children. In Cataclysm, a red dragon is experimenting on the black dragonflight so that they can have a purified black dragon that they could keep as a slave. This is deemed as okay, because the blacks are crazy anyway, and you go and help this red dragon who basically goes "don't judge me on this it's important" as you beat an enslaved mother into submission and steal her children from her to experiment on. This is something Deathwing does later on the reds, and it's largely considered a bad thing to have done.
So what happens in Dragonflight, a dragon focused expansion where Wrathion, the victim of the red flight's meddling, who narrowly avoided being a slave to the red flight after they murdered his mother and killed all his siblings? Alexstrasza insults and belittles him for wanting to reconnect with his ancestry, repeatedly, one time right after he saved her life and was just politely asking her for aid (you know because the black dragonflight was driven to near extinction). All Wrathion gets to do is look annoyed at her in the cutscene and leave, and from then on we see him, Sabellian, and Ebyssian all try and kowtow to her as she insults their family and them for wanting to take up the good and noble parts of the black flight's legacy.
Yes, Horde and Alliance members have bickered between each other, but this is the queen of dragons, the protector of all life, and here she is belittling the few remaining victims of the Old God's plot and spitting on everything they do.
That's not even mentioning the other shit that happens to children. In Dragonflight, like was said earlier, you're immediately smashing and killing the whelps inside of eggs for having the audacity to be changed with elemental magic. There's no mercy for them, there's no trying to save them with the magic aqueducts of order magic, there's just smash smash smash and you go onto the next one. In Wrath, we smash blue dragon eggs that were just there (you know the blue dragons live there) because the reds wanted us to. These were not combatants in the war. That was a blatant attack on a decimated flight meant to wound Malygos, just as killing his mate and dragging her corpse around to insult him was.
One of Garrosh's crimes was being associated with the Dragonmaw clan, as they enslaved the red dragons before (reminder, Garrosh wasn't even on the planet when this happened). Alexstrasza gives this testimony about how horrible and cruel it was in her time enslaved by the Dragonmaw, but that she forgives all those orcs, because she just loves life so much. Never once is it mentioned that the red dragonflight has done worse things themselves, and that Alexstrasza either gave the order for it or was complicit in it the entire time. Never once has the narrative ever addressed this past occasionally going "Wrathion doesn't really like Alexstrasza" which is the most mild aspect out of all of this.
Magni was never presented as saintly. In Before the Storm, Sylvanas makes a point about how she doesn't trust him because he's still a dwarf and (IIRC) Baine tells her that. well. he is a rock now. Repeatedly his mistakes with his daughter were mentioned—The Shattering, Before the Storm, BFA, off the top of my head—and the narrative does go "Hey, this character is flawed." Yeah, maybe they didn't specifically address the fact that Magni okayed a dig site on tauren land, but that's kind of comparing apples to child murder imo. The most Alexstrasza gets dinged on is Vyranoth going "I thought it was fucked up that you helped the Titans corrupt and change my children" and she STILL joins team Titan at the end of the day. Alexstrasza faces no real repercussions for her actions on this past she lost some friends twenty thousand years ago in a book no one seemed to want to read.
That's why I harp on how the narrative presents Alexstrasza so much.
#warcraft#ask#anonymous#alexstrasza#i dont even really like wrathion but i pop a blood vessel every time alexstrasza condescends to him. i wish he'd maul her.

Gnomish, Dwarvish, and Human leaders come together to discuss this for two purposes. The first is in the interest of Allied security. Troop and goods movement is integral in wartime, and it is pertinent to rebuild strong and fast after the last war
The second is national integration into the Alliance and straight up basic diplomacy. Dark Irons see opportunity in the Gnomish desire to fully and finally reinhabit Gnomeregan and request an extension to Shadowforge City. Fearful of the Horde's potential access to such a weak point, in this time of peace, the Alliance (through a network of spies and connections) find that the Blackrock Orcs, recently sated by the recent Kosh'arg and lead by Eitregg, a fellow Blackrock, would stay away from such a project so long as there are joint-rebuilding efforts. These would see Dark Irons, Blackrocks, and Black Drakes working together (not at all in a lovey-dovey hippy way) to rebuild and, indeed, beautify the mountain
--
Edit: With the terminus of the Aerie Peak line at Kirthaven coming into such close quarters with the Dragonmaw Orcs, Eitregg pacifies the unrest across the clans by reaching out to Gazlowe and the Bilgewater Cartel in order to contract a similar rail line, connecting Goblin, Troll, Tauren, and Orc centres on Kalimdor.
The unrest cannot be fully quelled, and this leads to conflicts Azeroth's champions can participate in. However, the expansion of the Grimrail is done in a sort of dick-measuring arms race: Between Horde and Alliance, between Gnome and Goblin, between Orc and Troll and Dwarf and Human, et cetera
--
With such a success, the Alliance start working on the second phase, bridging the span by connecting Stromgarde through Dun Algaz. The Stormpikes lead the charge, ever suspicious of the Dark Iron fraternization with the Orcs. However, while the Raventusk Trolls are (/wish to be) content in their village, the Vilebranches come to attack the construction happening across the Span. This speeds up the construction process but provides a constant PvP zone in Arathi Highlands (recalling back the olden days)
Reaching Stromgarde, the Wildhammers, Danillian Elves, and the Half Elves conspire with the Gilneans to extend the Tram both west- and north-ward. For the Alliance, this connects the two major continental ports and provides aerial manoeuvrability via the Wildhammers and increasingly sky-bound High Vale Elves
However, Durnholde has never been a stable stronghold, and its station frequently comes under attack by the Alteraci Syndicate (PvP n.2); likewise, Southshore both evolves and devolves into again a stand-off (with great peace potential) with the Forsaken.
This next bit is straight-up headcanon fiction: The extension through Southshore into Gilneas goes through Dun Modr, which gets cleaned up but requires the assistance of Calia Menethil. There, the spirits of Dwarves and Humans are restless (yadda yadda) request to be Lightborne undead. However, the Forsaken feel they have the right to that land (yadda yadda) PvP n.3 in Hillsbrad

"Dragonmaw rpers only want to be rapists" is such a smooth brain take. What about orcs like Duroz who regret what they've done, or what even Gorfax says when you choose the Dragonmaw for the clan banner
"I will say this. I intend to find a new place in Azeroth--and in this new Horde--for my people. And I intend to do it through our own strength alone, not through yet another enslaved people.
If we Dragonmaw die out before that happens, so be it."
Yeah, total rape vibes.

I really enjoy your reflections on Warcraft Orcs. Have you any insight on the Orc heritage armor quest?
Thank you!! That means so much to hear. I do!!! I actually took a lot of caps of and I think I'll post them soon. I wanted to give people time to experience themselves but It seems by doing that people post stuff before me! The rush for showing content is a little silly... But!!! The quest like for the orcish heritage armor actually was way better than I expected. While the armor set itself at first was very underwhelming, the whole build up was way worth it.
I don't really know if anything I say has influence, i've gone on multiple times on how I feel the orcs should be presented. I've talked about things like 'cultural class halls', how I feel NPCs should show info and what not and this heritage quest line actually did a lot of the things I felt SHOULD be done.
The RPG aspect of WoW is what I felt made it popular. People yearn for Vanilla days because those were the days that felt like a world of adventure. Dragonflight feels like a return to the fantasy that made it popular and THIS quest feels like a true celebration of heritage.
There are a few things I have critiques on, but i know only so much can be jammed into a quest line like this.
My BIGGEST pro is the fact they talked about THE thing I've been wanting to see, which is them addressing that after all this time, the orcs have never been able to reclaim their traditions.
That there is this "belief" that there are no clans or identity anymore where there is! And they want orcs to feel that. They want orcs to know they have heritage and culture and clans and traditions.
In an era where we, ourselves, are forgetting our own roots...our own heritage or ignoring others...it's nice to see they remembered that the orcs were a people with traditions and customs that make them the people they are.
To not overly explain this point, which I may get into later when I give a full over view, it really made me happy.
Now my biggest sadness I think is that there is no mention of clans that are either completely extinct or were not included. Spoiler ahead-
But they did not include the Shadowmoon Clan. There was one thing in there that WAS included and I am completely grateful, but i think of all clans, someone or something should have included the Shadowmoon. With them being extremely advanced and the first shaman to just let them not be remembered at all or celebrate probably the heritage of all the old warlocks who are there who probably WANT to return to their cosmic traditions...it's a bit sad to not see your own banner being flown. It actually seems a tad unrealistic as well, especially seeing they're flying the Dragonmaw colors but let the Shadowmoon fall to the side. Even with the warlocks being surprised they were even invited...you'd think they'd speak up about their old heritage.
But over all, I think maybe it could be a step to Shadowmoon returning...or....at least...that one snippit in the corner reminding us that we should remember it.
But over all, great heritage quest and the armor being a abstract combination of Thrall, Orgrim and Durotan I think is the best way to both give people 'Doomplate' while also honoring three influential orcs that shaped modern Azeroth orcs.

Part 28 of my World of Warcraft retail paladin playthrough! In this episode I continue questing in the Wetlands. I kill some Dragonmaw Orcs, then finally head west to Menethil Harbor. I kill some crabs and sharks (sorry about the noise) then head north to kill some murlocs and undead Kul Tiran sailors. I will probably finish the zone next episode then we can move on to Dustwallow Marsh.

I wanted to get a good picture od Okria with her tattoos done. It... May or may not have turned into this. ‘Cause how can I not put her lovelyness into a gorgeous, sparkly black dress? Of course, her brother would cover her with a burlap sack if he were to see her in this. All while berating her for wearing Sin’dorei clothes.
I shared the sketch yesterday, and honestly. I’m super proud of this one. She’s tricky with her Dragonmaw “tint”. I also got an older piece of her updated with her tattoos, since at the time I didn’t have ideas for them. I’ll post that shortly.
