Misfits and magic has ruined me for shows and seasons using d&d or some other formats. Like what the fuck do you mean there's no built in "I care a lot and try really hard and therefore have a higher chance of winning" mechanic. Kids on brooms is excellent for this and honestly it feels more realistic to be able to sacrifice things to have a better outcome in a particular aspect of life. I honestly love the FHJY downtime bits for this with the tokens as well!! More game systems with "this is important to me and I'm willing to negatively impact myself in other ways to succeed here" mechanics

my favourite part about this season of misfits and magic is just how much it feels like aabria wrote a love letter to her friends, especially erika. and what makes it all even better is how much erika uses their entire skill set to meet her there and the only way to describe the feeling is magic.

I adore watching DMs play PCs

theres such a specific gameplay that happens when a DM is a PC and i honestly think it's why they tend to be my favorite characters

theres a level of detail and involvement and creativity in the improv that doesn't come out with most non DMs in a way that's hard to describe

i need an oops!all DMs campaign with at least Brennan Lee Mulligan, Aabria Iyangar, Griffin Mcelroy, and Brian Murphy at the table. all other DMs welcome, but i think they would create such an involved story that I would be feral for

Truly SO fucked up that, during the adventuring party for this episode, they're naming a bunch of actors from the Dungeons and Dragons Movie but have NOT named Justice Smith. The one actor in that movie that has publicly begged to be on Dimension 20.
