why are all coming of age stories about teenagers leaving high school. like. i know some people move out and get jobs immediately but most of the characters in these stories are going to college and it’s like. yeah college is Different, you may be living in your own and making ur own schedule and ur legally an adult and stuff, but like. college is just a cooler version of more school.

we need coming of age stories about ppl about to graduate college. searching for jobs and watching your friends all pick different states to move to and trying to commit to a career that doesnt make you want to die and saying goodbye to the specific type of community and structure you get in school??? that shit is WAYYYY more terrifying and humbling than leaving high school was imo
