And a funny coincidence to note here is that, the people who ship these non-canon ships are usually the ones who are nice, friendly, and welcoming. While the people who ship the canon ships are usually the ones who are toxic and rude.

Today, I had an argument with a hater who called me dumb because of my fangirl moment on a post. 😑 And so sometimes, I think to myself. Why is it that I find myself shipping non-canon couples? What is it with me that I find other people to ship than what is already pronounced in the series?

But then again, I realize I'm not only shipping couples just for the heck of it. And just because they're canon, doesn't necessarily obligate me to ship them.

I ship and pair people when I see the romance potential in them, when their dynamics can bring fire to the story, or when they can compliment or align with each other in ways I see fit. It's not just about the lovey dovey stuff for me. It is also the understanding, cooperation, trust, functionality, and compatibility that I can see in them that makes a good and healthy ship for me.

If I see that in a canon couple, then I won't have any problems shipping them. That's all the better. But if not, then it's not necessarily a bad thing.

So to you my fellow shippers of the ships mentioned above, don't lose heart over these toxic people. Your choices and preferences don't necessarily define you. It is our attitude on how we handle our ships that does.

Nobody is perfect. But here's to hoping for a fun and healthy social media experience for everyone ~ ❤️

So I stumbled upon this and...

I almost forgot that young Mikasa always kept Eren in line. Like she always throws him around or punches him whenever he does anything stupid or foolish. Like she gets him back to his senses.

This young girl at the tender age of 9 can be this sensible, rational, and level-headed. And yet the same girl at the age of 19 goes, "What should we do about Eren?"

I know there wouldn't be a story if the rumbling wouldn't happen. But still. She could have bitch-slapped him all the way to Marley if she wanted to.

But Yams said NO. We need the toxic relationship and Stockholm Syndrome to happen here 😑

That.. Theo couldn't help it. She started to tear up. Not because she was sad and not because he was mean but because his words hit her. They meant something.

She realised she had that love.

That's she had people she loved with all her heart but not once has she ever been able to explain the feeling she had.

No once was she ever able to say what she meant when she said she loved them.

She loved them truly but never has she been able to put what she meant by it , but this stanger...this guy could. No. He did. It was his meaning but it range true with what she meant. She loved them. She trusted them , she wanted to be happy with them and share those important moment's. She wanted to open up more to them and even with her struggles still tried to.

A genuine happy smile formed as she closed her eyes. She didn't know what to describe this feeling. Didn't want to know.

He wrote in response to his mother that he would require two scarves this winter instead of one, and therefore, as a consequence ( or, perhaps, a benefit – only time would tell ) of this request was that the gift scarf matched Draco’s own, with the exception of the insignia ; Draco’s had the Malfoy crest embroidered on the end, rather than the simple Slytherin snake that was on Viktor’s. Still, they were similar enough.

“I just figured you could use it, seeing as the one you’re wearing’s a rag,” Draco explained the reasoning behind his gift as though Viktor would otherwise be unable to guess what the purpose of a replacement scarf was. “And besides, you shouldn’t be wearing their colours anyway,” he couldn’t help but comment, “you’re not a Hufflepuff.”

what adrienne smells when coming into contact with amortentia changes on who i’m writing with / what the plot within their verse is, and when it comes to the GROUP VERSE, she hasn’t found anyone yet ( despite her affair with a teacher, of course ) so i really can’t come up with anything unless she potentially finds a love interest in the group.

but in BOTH verses / no matter who he’s writing within their verse, lukas ALWAYS smells a mixture of vanilla, caramel, and parchment. why? because that’s what adrienne smells like. I SWEAR it’s not an incest-y thing - he smells it because he really isn’t capable of loving anyone other than his sister, but since he’s not identical to tom ( who can’t smell anything when presented with amortentia ) the potion more or less shows him ANYTHING he loves, as opposed to the person he’s IN LOVE with.

Six sentence- some day I guess-

( this had been pending for a couple of days, but here we are ) thanks to @rockingrobin69 for tagging me into this

" feels nice, doesn't it ?" Harry smiled lightly as they laid on the soft newly prickled grass boring in the sun in the late winter

" it does " he replied. If it was pure fascination or something else he didn't know but Harry had turned sideways to him, and started admiring him

" why are you looking at me like that ?" Draco asked his eyes twinkling with a smile.

Harry frowned when his eyes bored into that of Draco's, confusion etching upon his feature's

" Draco ? your eyes are blue "

" yeah I guess " draco shrugged as he laid back with his arms tucked under his head.

" no. It's like they change colour, only they don't " harry huffed leaning on his elbow to hover over draco so one of his eyes were covered by his shadow while other remained exposed to sunlight.

" see, your eyes shine in the sun like when you watch a River under the sun but otherwise your eyes are mostly grey but Only if you look carefully they are not exactly grey, well not exactly at least, they're sort of the colour before a thunderstorm " harry explained still examining Draco's eyes until he shut them, chuckling.

" you are such a sap " draco chuckled, opening his eyes again and pressing a small chaste kiss over Harry's pink lips.

" well, can you blame me " harry murmured as he leaned down a little to kiss draco more properly.

" I never complained " draco responded in the kiss before he rolled them over to get on top and kissed harry like he knew he'd kiss him the last day of his life and how he would've kissed him if it were the first day of his life.

This was an abandoned microfic for drarrymicrofic that never appeared but here we go.

Yoshi stood there in the doorway, staring at the man before him and a body at his feet- and couldn’t decide what was worse. The fact that he had been there to witness part of it and had incriminating evidence, or the fact that it was somebody he had trusted.

Suddenly, faced with a decision, he realized that he would either have to stand by and watch Draco perish or withhold information and be killed himself.

It was quite the burden to bear. For a long time, Yoshi didn’t say anything, unable to take his eyes away from the scene before him.

Then, he swallowed thickly, leaning on the door frame for support. “An accident… fuck, man- what happened?”

Harry Potter mostly, but when I was twelve I wrote Greek God fanfiction but it’s hard to tell what fanfic in that space. I mean, the masterpiece that is Lore Olympus isn’t exactly fanfic, right?

Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

I do! Even if it’s just to thank someone and wish them a lovely day. I think the only comments I haven’t responded to are ones like ‘huh?’ or ‘eh?’. I can’t do much with those.

In a very gross way, comments are like laxatives. If you want more shit out of me, shove comments down my throat. My motivation will jump from toodle-doo to PHWOAR if anyone knows or understands what that means.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

The Alternate Ending (Tragic) to Transit of Venus.

Transit of Venus was already pretty angsty, but the people wanted to see the most harrowing of the five endings I wrote. So I put on my patent-pending Sob Through Anything glasses (eucalyptus on the nose grip, moisture wicking on the glass) and edited a Romeo + Juliet- style ending.

Do you write crossovers? If so what’s the craziest one you’ve written?

No, but I do write Easter Eggs. Though I do have a plunny to crossover Derry Girls with Harry Potter where the character of James is Harry being sent to Derry for his protection.

It is the only crossover I’ve ever dabbled in and the the couple pages I’ve written are utter madness so I don’t hold out hope I’ll ever publish it..

Oh, but do songfics count? Because then I have LOADS. Mostly Taylor Swift because folklore stole my soul.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Yes, my favourite was telling me the entire premise of Transit of Venus was stupid and I should have taken a leaf out of their country’s way of doing things to up population and given tracts of land to couples . Soo... colonialism with implications of people displacement and other more heinous consequences they found preferable to a soul spell.

Do you write smut? If so what kind?

I do write smut. My favourite type of smut to write is romantic, sensual smut. I’m also very much looking forward to writing the smut for my crackfic.

I think my most favourite smut scene I’ve written though is in Her Curious Valentine’s where Theo reads really bad, gratuitous Dramione smut out loud in the company of both Draco and Hermione while they try and ignore him.

I laughed a lot writing that.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I honestly have no idea how I’d even check that. But probably not. I doubt anyone would want to take credit for anything I write.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, but as an exercise to practice my Te Reo, I occasionally translate passages of my own.

What’s your all time favorite ship?

Dramione. I ‘White Flag by Dido’ Dramione. I stan, simp, ship, fangirl and tresh Dramione. I refuse to feel guilt, only pleasure. Please don’t come for me Ronmione fans, I like Ron, okay? I’m just shit at writing him and just make him say, “Bloody hell!” all the time.

But also Theo with anyone, particularly Harry. Theo is my favourite character because he is almost 100% fanon. He epitomises the Harry Potter fanfic community for me so I have to love him forever and ever.

What's a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

I’m writing a WIP called ‘The Madnesses of Men’ that details seven women’s relationships with the men in their life: The three Black sisters, Pansy, Luna, Ginny and Hermione. Each has a Seven Deadly Sin as the title of their chapter and each has a completely different writing style. Luna’s chapter is entirely poetry. Bellatrix is an exercise of insanity and a stream of consciousness. Narcissa’s is all letters to Andromeda that she never sent.

I would love to finish it because it is something very different for me but I’m struggling to find Pansy and Andromeda’s voices. Le sigh, maybe one day. (But let’s be honest, it’ll never happen.)

What are your writing strengths?

Humour - I have a knack for gargling up ridiculous scenarios when I’m brushing my teeth, giggling maniacally like a calcium-deficient vampire while frothing at the mouth with reckless abandon. I put these scenarios in my writing and it goes over well.

Angst - People tell them I make them cry and have been known to punch the heart’s out of people’s bodies so I thank them and wish them a nice day. I once exacerbated someone’s chronic pain condition (which I still feel soul-crushingly guilty about) and was asked to reiterate the ‘Heartbreak’ tag on a fic. I guess that means I’m good at it. Sorry again to that reader!

Trope Twists - My favourite thing to write are twists on tropes. I enjoy finding new ways to tell old stories. Stay tuned for my take on the ‘Unexpected Pregnancy’ theme coming soon.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Run-on sentences - I have a tendency to, more often than not, plug in far too many words which I think stems from some sort of childhood instinct that if I kept talking and talking then my sister won’t find out I drank all her juice and accidentally threw it back up on her favourite Skydancer.

Sticking to my plotting/theme - This has happened a lot. Incandescent was supposed to be a cottagecore, cute, fluffy romance Theomione. Now it is a sprawling space opera where Hermione has fought a god, has learned another version of herself will either save/destroy the entire world (not to mention Atlantis) and rescued a star after it was eaten by a black hole. Oh, and it takes place over one weekend.

The Absolute and Total Defeat of One Draco Malfoy had been fully plotted out for twenty-two chapters. It only took three for me to completely deviate. But it’s a crack fic, so it felt inevitable

The montage/transition pieces - I hate writing the banal parts between plot points. And I hate it because I’m really bad at it. I either skip over it too much or get bogged down in too many details.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I personally like reading dialogue in other languages. If used in a way that makes sense. Especially if the fic is set somewhere that doesn’t speak English, I like to learn a little of the setting’s language to immerse myself.

I tend to use use other languages sparingly in my own writing. Mostly because I don’t want to get it wrong and when I try, I end up in four hour long research holes of the best way to say ‘Hello’.

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Ancient Greek mythology, I think. If it can be counted. Would that make ‘The Iliad’ or ‘The Odyssey’ fanfic? Oh gods, I’m going to obsess over this for days now.

What’s your favourite fic that you’ve written?

Transit of Venus because it taught me a lot, though I feel like I best nailed the setting I was going for in Are There Still Beautiful Things. The Absolute and Total Defeat of One Draco Malfoy always cheers me up.

But if I complete it and start posting (which I am DETERMINED to do, I WILL finish it before I start posting), I think my favourite will be my new WIP: What’s Owed When.

Viktor Krum, star seeker for the Bulgarian National Quidditch team, was riding a piece of garbage – a broom so old that the house elves wouldn’t even sweep a floor with it. It bothered Draco immensely. He was of the opinion that such an esteemed player should use only the best equipment. He found it terrible that the Bulgarian team wouldn’t allow Krum to continue to use the team’s Firebolt brooms outside of the season, especially when it was so clear that Krum was unable to afford one for himself.

“I noticed that your broom isn’t very good,” Draco spoke as a greeting, “a Nimbus 1500? I’m surprised that duster can even make it off the ground,” it truly was a testament to Krum’s dedication to the game that he would risk himself flying on such an old death-trap, “I have a Firebolt. If you want it, you can borrow it – in fact, you can have it. My father will buy me another one.” It was, of course, a genuine offer. He would like to be friends with a famous quidditch star, after all.

Mine To Protect (+135k, WIP) – Eight heads turned towards Severus Snape as he entered the hospital wing of Hogwarts in the early morning hours.

A good, normal life (14k) – Draco picked up Sally’s droppings with a grimace.

The Veil (393) – Everything went quiet when Sirius fell through the veil, as though the  air couldn’t carry sound anymore. Harry didn’t even hear himself scream.

Microfic: Gia's Interview (300) – “Oh my!” Gia startled as the metal began to slip under her fingers and she grimaced, giving Mr D’Orso a chagrined look. “I didn’t know it did that.”

Untitled WIP (7k, pending) – Draco sighed as he put the chart back.

Untitled WIP (5k, pending) – Harry ran, almost tripping on the uneven ground, his hand firmly clasped around Hermione’s.

Untitled WIP (1k, pending) – It was still early, barely gone eight o’clock, the morning sun just rising above the tiled roofs of Privet Drive and Minerva McGonagall was waiting.

Let's see, patterns... Most of them are rather long and introduce the POV character, as well as setting and/or situational aspects (other characters, objects, activity). I find that it helps me (and I hope the reader) to hook onto the POV and quickly be immersed in the scene. Though, I should add that general chapter/scene beginnings are less consistent with this and can also be more like the start of that microfic (direct speech, vaguer setting hints). Still, the POV character is nearly always introduced in my first line. Curiously, my favourite one is the exception to this: Everything went quiet when Sirius fell through the veil, as though the air couldn’t carry sound anymore. Why is that my favourite? Idk man, I like the vibe of it, I guess? It’s a bit melancholic/dark. Given that whoever reads it knows OotP, it describes the entire situation in one go and immediately jumps into how it feels — and I’m a sucker for emotions.
