Paris Geller vs. Dr. Maura Isles
Remember: don't vote on "who would win in a fight", but on "who, when given a task that fits her skillset and talents, would do that task better: more comprehensively, faster, with more pizzazz, with less collateral, etc."
Endorsements! "What is she good at?"
Paris Geller, Gilmore Girls: Being very driven and smart.
Dr. Maura Isles, Rizzoli & Isles: Everything lol but very particularly her job of Chief Medical Examiner

"she is fierce and first to defend me in my moment of trouble or need. her wit and laughter sustain me and never come at my expense. and when we part, there is no sadness because our bond is always there. she is not just my friend, she is a gift, both precious and rare." maura's poem about jane (yeah you read that correctly) (and their faces while it's being read) in 6x16

Maura *about the Rizzolis*: “Every talk I have with you people gets more and more absurd!”
Jane: “You say "you people" like you're not a part of this family. I got some news for you, Maura Isles: you're already on the Christmas card.”

Jane was married to agent Dean in the books
So a couple years ago my family (on my mom’s side) were my moving my grandma into an assisted living facility and I was going through her books. Understand, she was a huge James Patterson fan. So naturally I guess she had a few Tess Gerritson novels, from which the show Rizzoli & Isles was loosely based, as well.
My heart sank when I read on the book cover that apparently Jane was supposedly married to Dean…
The most boring character both physically and personality wise in the entire series. If it it weren’t for Jane’s character in the show, idve fallen asleep every time dean was on screen. They had no chemistry and it was so frustrating… and it felt so forced. (Ugh.) Casey was a better character and I didn’t even like him that much.

Dr. Maura Isles vs. Sister Beatrice
Remember: don't vote on "who would win in a fight", but on "who, when given a task that fits her skillset and talents, would do that task better: more comprehensively, faster, with more pizzazz, with less collateral, etc."
Dr. Maura Isles, Rizzoli & Isles: Rigorous in her application of science, enthusiastic in her appreciation of the finer things in life, literally cannot lie (she breaks out in hives) but her candor and forthrightness make her an exemplary role model for anyone who might, at one point or another, have had difficulties with social niceties, metaphors, and white lies. Medical doctor, chief medical examiner (youngest to be promoted to that role IIRC), indispensable in solving crimes, learned forensics to speak for the dead because who else will?
Sister Beatrice, Warrior Nun: Oh my GOD what is she NOT? Mastery in various martial art forms, fluent in Lord knows how many languages, master strategist, BOMBS, and always has a kind word for those who need them.

the funniest part about 6x11 to me is that nora is played by sasha alexander - the same sasha alexander who would go on to play dr. maura isles (the pilot of rizzoli & isles aired 5 months later)
what would you call that, foreshadowing?
this era of proto-queerbait needs to be studied btw
