Watching My 600lb Life almost feels like therapy for me. Dr. Now’s no-nonsense approach is exactly what my ADHD ass needs. And listening the My 600lb Life Podcast and watching Sean of Steel react to the show gives me life. It’s all entertaining and informative.
I tend to find ways to learn from reality tv, and it’s never intentional. Maybe that’s why I love it so much. While it is half-scripted, there’s still a lot to learn.
But one thing that always gets me is why people will lie about what they did when there’s video evidence showing that they’re lying? What’s the point in lying if there is easily accessible evidence that you’re lying? It’s unnecessary.
Ozempic, my aversion to salty junk food, and this show along with the reviews and reactions are helping to shape better eating habits for me. I know I should throw exercise in there as well, but I got into a car accident last November, and my injuries flare up whenever the weather gets gloomy and rainy. Right now, I’m dealing with a flare up, so even sitting for too long hurts me.
I don’t even know what the point of my post is, probably just throwing my thoughts out there into the void.
I also love Dr. Nowzaradan. He cares about his job so much, especially in the earlier seasons where he keeps giving his patients chance after chance. He really is the embodiment of “we did all we could”.
Not to mention his Iranian-Texan accent is wonderful. I always get warm and happy when he says “Hello, how y’all doing?” He is a delight, and I hope to meet him one day.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love watching My 600 lb Life. Other than hearing Dr. Nowzaradan mention the 800-1,000 cal per day diet, I’ve never known what it consisted of. But today I found it!
Shopping on Saturday and starting on Sunday, because if someone used to eating 12,000 calories a day can do this plan than so can I!
