Hiii! I watched Glass a few days ago and I decided to write something with Dr. Ellie Staple! It's nothing special, and maybe it's pretty rushed too, but I wanted to give it a try and here it is! I finally graduated so I have way more free time than before to think of plots and write down ideas. Hope you enjoy it <3
Embrace who you are
I have been sitting in this room for so long, I don't even remember what day is it. Hours flow quietly in their succession, always the same. I used to believe that being different was a blessing, but in this place it's nothing like that. I don't consider myself a superhero, although I possess some characteristics that have nothing to do with what's ordinary.
There must be something in my brain, she says. An episode of my past, a memory, a trauma that perhaps led me feeling numb in contact with fire. Not that I can do much in here. The medication and these restraint bracelets are weakening me day to day, and I'm honestly not even trying anymore to perform it because what's the point?
"Why are you doing this?", I ask her again, when comes in for the daily checkup. Her soft waves contour her face so graciously, I can't help but feel drawn to her, to those eyes that deep down appear to guard only light and kindness. However, was that the truth or just an infatuation of mine, considering the conditions she put me in?
"What do you mean, sweetheart?", her voice is laced with an innocence I stopped believing a few days ago. She is just trying to avoid the question, as always. I scoff lightly and bow my head focusing on my trembling hands, whose wrists have been handcuffed with a peculiar bracelet meant to keep all my abilities at bay. Initially I thought she cared about me, like truly. But now, I'm not sure anymore.
"I'm supposed to believe whatever you say without a fight—" I mumble tiredly, slowly meeting her confused frown. I'm so tired of being here, these four white walls are driving me crazy. I just want my life back. Doesn't she see that I'm struggling? She sighs and tilts her head to the side, a soft smile appears on her lips, "Sweetie, I—"
But I don't want to listen to those excuses anymore. "All your assumptions about what's real and what's not," I fix my gaze at the handcuffs, "and these, I'm sick of these! I feel like... suffocating," I swallow a lump in my throat, my voice comes out thinner but determined to make her understand that she was hurting me.
She smiles sadly at me, her eyebrows meet in a frown, "I know it seems brutal...", I chuckle bitterly, "Because it is!" I respond, letting out an exasperated grunt. She sees I'm fighting against my emotions, pushing past the tears threatening to spill from my eyes. She walks towards me, and for a moment, I see guilt flashing through her deep chocolate eyes. "Hey, hey...", I feel the mattress beneath me dip a bit as she takes a seat next to me.
On one side, I admire her like no other person I've ever laid my eyes on. There is something about her that hopelessly draws me closer. But there is also the other side that says— scream even to stay away. "I'm aware it's hard for you to comprehend, but I know what I'm doing. I specialize in people like you..."
Have you ever had that feeling about a person? Even when you know they are wrong, it feels like they are telling the truth, just because they firmly believe it is the truth. That's how Ellie was making me feel. She thinks she is helping me, failing to see my prospective. "People like me?," I look into her eyes with nothing but pure disbelief. A bitter chuckle escapes my mouth right after.
"Wait—", she sighs and reaches out a hand to touch me but I draw back before she can do it. "Do you hear yourself talking? There is nothing wrong with me," my lip quivers as I pronounce those words. I wonder what these handcuffs are made of to make my finger feel so numb and cold.
Ellie leans closer and lightly hushes me. Her long brown lashes well up with tears, tears that honestly I don't understand. Is she sad because she can't cure me? Is she discouraged because I refuse to listen to her? While busy asking myself what the reason of her distress may be, her hand gently cups my cheek. I squeeze my eyes shut, when her voice says my name with such a delicacy, I feel more vulnerable than ever. "You mastered a remarkable kindness, but it's just a camouflage."
If I looked at her now I'd see the hurt in her eyes. Her fingers tremble next to my skin. She inhales sharply and shakes her head at the same time, "No..." she voices out both exasperatedly and painfully, "You're so wrong," when her voice cracks a little, I look at her and say, "You keep telling me I'm wrong, but you never considered that you might be."
Her cheeks have reddened a bit, probably taken aback by my sudden outburst. A single tear slides down her face, while her bottom lip wobbles, causing me to feel guilty for whatever reason. "Your beliefs can put you in danger," she stutters for the first time feeling unconvinced of her own statement. It only makes the entire situation funnier to me.
"They are not beliefs and you know it! This is who I am," I voice out in a faint whisper. Tears spill from my eyes, because I'm so exhausted to be fed lies. I never called myself a superhero and if that's the title she fears so much, I'm willing to never use it. I'm just a girl that can evoke fire. I don't know myself how that's possible, but it's true. A part of me secretly hoped that Ellie would understand me, but I'm slowly losing faith.
When I was first met with those brown eyes I thought there was a chance for me to be understood and not condemned. I understand maybe it's fear what she feels. But I'm not a danger, I never was. After all, what harm have I done in life? I try to help those in need when I get the chance. Otherwise, I simply mind my business. I'm a normal person, regardless of the skills I possess. "I simply want to help you, make sure you don't get hurt..."
I scoff again, a bitter smile curve my lips, "By making me lose myself so that you're happy with your research?", "How does this make me happy exactly?", she quickly responds, gesturing animatedly. I raise an eyebrow at that. Is she pointing out the fact that I'm restrained? If yes, wouldn't it be easier to just let me go? "You did this to me," I state calmly, showing her my wrists.
Her chest rises and falls quicker, she opens her mouth to say something but she closes it again. I see her biting her tongue after, clearly in difficulty to express herself and make herself understood. I find myself even more confused because... are those irises moist with tears now? Is she about to cry? If so, maybe she does care? Or maybe she just finds me crazy and utterly beyond recovery.
"You're so focused on trying to get me to admit that I'm mentally sick, that you don't even see the person that I actually am," I see her posture change a bit when I pronounce these words. "That's not—", I keep her gaze, while I hesitantly draw my hands closer to hers. Despite the handcuffs, I can still move pretty freely, since they are not those bound to one another but they simply restrain my wrists. She looks at our fingers in trance as they almost touch. "Am I only an experiment to you? A task to complete so that you can level up?"
"N-no...," she looks heartbroken when she says that. Her voice never sounded so weak and guilty. It almost makes me feel bad for having said that. For a while I thought about believing her, admit to myself that having those abilities was more of an illness than a gift. That I maybe didn't feel pain, but I was actually hurting myself purposefully. And that it was better to be cured, but then, something snapped in me. Those were just lies.
"I don't see you that way. I never did. I do care about you." I sigh and angrily wipe my cheeks with the sleeves of my shirt, "Your actions tell me differently," I reply, averting my gaze towards that annoying pale wall, but only briefly cause lingering on it too long causes my eyes to itch and burn. "What do you want me to do?", that question surprises me. I mean, wasn't it obvious? I shake my handcuffs slightly as to point out the main reason of my distress.
"Freeing me from these would be a good start," I keep a sarcastic smile on my face. She takes a hesitant breath, her teeth nibbling her bottom lip that can't stop trembling, "Sweetheart...", she struggles, her eyes possess a fear of I don't know what, but it's crystal clear that it gnaws at her heart. "Please, Ellie. I'm not a danger," I plead.
Despite having been treated like this for weeks, I don't seek revenge or anything of the sort. I just want to be able to go back to my old life and get rid of these annoying handcuffs. "I want to believe you, I do", she insists, her voice trembling as she speaks, wavering with uncertainty. For the first time after a while I see a shift in her behavior. A determination that maybe will lead her to go against the protocol, "Then, what's stopping you?", I insist softly.
"Everything I've been taught...", she mutters to herself before looking at me again, "Look, I see the truth in your eyes," she admits, which makes me hope for a real change of events. "I'm just— I'm scared of the consequences. Not about what you would do once you're set free, but about the others— what if they find out and disagree with my decision? What if they come after you, manipulate and restrain you in ways I can't even imagine?"
I see her heart torn between duty and compassion. Love even, maybe. A soft smile tugs at my lips, maybe she does care about me after all. "I can handle myself. I can change city, I don't know, disappear if I have to... Anything is better than this. I don't want to spend eternity here, though your company makes it better," my attempts to be funny even in such situations sometimes astonishes me.
However, there is some truth in it. I like her. Maybe more than I should, as irrational as that sounds. Ellie's cheeks flush pink, an amused and quiet chuckle escapes her mouth right after, "You don't have to flatter me, sweetheart," I rapidly shake my head at that. I'm not trying to play with her, I really meant what I said. "I'm not," I state simply, hoping to let my honesty shine through. "Although, I wish we met in different circumstances," I mutter quietly, shrugging a bit.
"Me too...", she says, which leads me to snap my eyes open towards her. "For real?", her heart breaks at the uncertainty and vulnerability in my voice. Ellie simply nods at that, a thin and sad smiles graces upon her lips, while her hand reaches out to cup my cheek still wet and warm with tears. The pad of her finger delicately wipe a solitary tear that, without me knowing, just slipped from my eye. I'm so vulnerable to affection, I feel myself blushing.
I didn't know that but Ellie had spent so long to try and suppress her mixed feeling towards me, burying them beneath the weight of her responsibilities as doctor. Her fingers keep brushing against my paled cheek as she ponders on her next words carefully, "I'm so sorry," she whispers painfully, "Ellie...", I look for her eyes, that she voluntarily keeps down. "I'm sorry for making you doubt of yourself, for keeping you here—", shaking her head, she lets out a cry, "I want to help you, for real now."
With my eyes wide open, I breathe out, "Really?", tears brim in my eyes, as a glimmer of hope flick within them. "If it's the last thing I do" she confesses weakly, finally looking at me now. "This isn't your place." My heart flutters at her tone, I feel mixed feelings all of the sudden. I'm so excited to the possibility to put an end to all of this, "What will we do, then?"
What she does next completely astounds me. Her delicate fingers fumble as she struggles to unlock the handcuffs which have been secured with a code that only she knows. When a click follows, I finally feel cool air pass through my skin. I let out a relieved breath, while Ellie gasps in horror, noticing the red, raw marks etched into my wrists. "Oh my God, I'm.. I'm so sorry—", panic fills her voice as she shakily takes both my hands in hers, examining the seriousness of the injury.
"Don't be sorry, " I tell her with a reassuring smile, not wanting to add more weight on her shoulders. I feel so relieved, as if I'm starting breathing again. "No. I should have done better, I never meant to hurt you this way—", she takes a deep, shaky breath, her whole body trembling with remorse. She lightly massages my sore wrists, making me wince a bit. She stops, offering me another apologetic glance, "Can you feel your powers?", she asks, cupping my cheeks.
"Huh?", unsure if I have heard her right or not, she looks at me with conviction, tears filling her eyes. She nods her head and strokes my cheeks tenderly, "But... are you sure?", a reassuring smile tugs at Ellie's lips, "You need them to get out of here, don't you?", she grins through tears. I can't help but chuckle at that. The first liberating giggle in so long. "You're not afraid of me?", I need to make sure of this. I never mean to be a monster in her eyes.
As weird as it sounds, the last thing I wish for is for her to think ill of me. She simply shakes her head, her lips flatten in a thin line. Her eyes express me a weight of guilt and sorrow that tell me more than one hundred words. "I never was," her emotional confession makes my heart burst with joy. As I wriggle my fingers, slowly feeling my powers radiate through each fiber of my body once again, she gives me an encouraging squeeze on my shoulder.
I chuckle softly when dim flames start dancing in your hands, casting a warm glow in your face. Ellie can't help but look at me in awe. Her fear slowly melting away, replaced by a sense of wonder and admiration. "You were never a threat...", she mutters to herself, however loud enough for me to hear. A soft smile plays on my lips, as I look at her. When my gaze lingers on her eyes, the flames grow a little stronger.
Realizing that, I close my hands in fists and quickly and awkwardly apologize. She giggles at that and reaches out a hand to cup my chin, "You're extraordinary," she mutters, captivated by my gentle demeanor. A funny warmth fills my chest, when she asks, "Show me again. Show me who you are," her eyes lock with mine with nothing but love and conviction. I nod my head, a playful grin upon my features as I lean closer to her and whisper, "with immense pleasure."

Yes, I won’t lie. My musings have certainly gotten me into trouble.
What are your thoughts on exposure therapy? I’ve read many articles debating the effectiveness and safety of it. In my experience, it’s a…most unpleasant experience.
Good morning Dr. Staple! I hope I’m not interrupting anything.
~ Lana Winters
Good morning, Ms Winters.
No, not at all. In fact, I only just got in.

Is this the danger that was mentioned? Lana I adore you but I will do whatever I have to do to protect my girls. You know this. By any means necessary

new nurse - ellie staple x reader
masterlist
summary: in the company nurse’s office?! oh me oh my. you have to go for your yearly health exam for work. i know ellie isn't this type of doctor but oh well. i watched an actual exam on youtube for this.
includes: ellie x fem!reader, thoughts are italicized, all in reader’s POV.
warnings: nsfw/smut. i’m trying to get better at it.
i don’t really like this one but again i say: oh well.
3,700 words
Y/N POV//
There's no doubt I'm looking at the new nurse... It’s certainly not the view I expected.
Leaning over her desk, she sorts through papers. Her pose bringing up the hem of her white uniform to draw attention to long legs clad in white tights.
fucking hell.
I quickly close my eyes to try and delete what I just saw and thought from my brain. Seems I should've been worrying about the examiner instead of the examination.
great. cool cool cool.
Clearly the new company nurse is nothing like the old one. Martha was a slim woman in her mid 60s that would tell stories about her grandkids and what the company was like before I was even born. She had comforting Meryl Streep energy. Not the energy of a redhead in heels that would make me twist my ankle.
I should turn and run very very fast, but I can't because I'd like to remain employed. But I would very much not like to embarrass myself in front of- oh lovely she sees me now.
With a smile she waves me into her office.
Of course the rest of her is stunning.
"Hi, sorry- I wasn't sure if I should knock or- I'm—"
"Y/n L/n?" she finishes.
"Right" I force a smile.
"I'm Dr.Staple, but Ellie is fine. Just let me finish looking over your file and we can go right through to the examination room."
The last thing I needed was for her to return to her previous position to read the file, but she did.
Wow look at that ceiling and these posters are so very interesting, educational, one might say.
Once again clearing my head of the sight is impossible.
“I’ve been turning over the old files into a new database so I’m only now seeing your medical history.” It couldn't have been more than a minute before she spoke again, "It looks like you're in good shape."
{ a/n: pretending i'm healthy mentally and physically for this one }
My confusion did not go unnoticed.
Ellie turns to sit on her desk and laughs, "Your health I mean."
The blush that was for sure on my face already intensifies under her gaze, "Oh um- yeah I haven't had to come here aside from the yearly check ups." my eyes dart back to the posters.
"Well, time for another one" she gathers the papers and nods her head towards the other door, "come on through to the examination room."
After letting me in first, Ellie lays a stethoscope around her neck. Giving me time to scan the room and realize everything is the exact same as it was last time. Besides the fact that my heart is trying to punch a hole through my chest. I try to take deep yet quiet breaths to relax. Not working at all, which is making it worse. Hearing the door close I try to return her smile, or at least have a neutral expression.
"You can set your bag there" she gestures to a chair, "you only need to take off your shirt and shoes, then we can get started."
"Should I put a gown on?" I ask.
"If you'd like" she replies, scribbling away on a blank form, "this shouldn't take long so just staying in your shorts would be fine, too, since I'll need to take a look at your back."
"Oh, okay." I nod dumbly, trying to form a thought.
"Would you like me to get you a gown?"
Looking to the opposite side of the room I see Ellie suppressing a smile.
I'm not the greatest with social interaction but there's something behind that smile right.
"No it's okay." I blurt out before I can stop myself.
"We'll just start with your vitals once you're ready" she goes to wash her hands and put on gloves.
Hyperaware of the possibility of her eyes on me, I set my bag down and reach for the top button of my uniform. Somehow I manage to take it off without fumbling the buttons. The image of Ellie leaning over her desk flashes through my mind.
Your constant harassment of the female gender makes me sick.
I rub my now clammy hands over my shorts before folding my top and placing it on my bag. Nervously adjusting the straps of my bra (a relatively nice one thank god) and the waistline of my shorts.
"You can go ahead and take a seat on the examination able."
Seeing her reach for the blood pressure cuff does nothing to ease my heartbeat.
Still too late to run?
Ellie speaks up having noticed my hesitation, "No need to be nervous." That also did nothing to ease my heartbeat, "Whichever arm you'd like.” I hold my left arm out for her to wrap the cuff around. She gently taps my forearm, "Just relax your shoulder for me"
Once done she jots down my blood pressure and slides over in front of me on her rolling stool.
"Any concerns overall? I'm gonna ramble off what I'm looking at just so you're aware and we don't sit in silence. Feel free to ask questions, okay?"
"Okay" I can't help but smile back.
"I didn't see any masses or lesions...mobility and turgor is within normal limits...may I see your hands?"
When I lift them for her, she squeezes them in her own and looks at them.
"Uh no concerns, by the way." I answer her question from earlier.
"Good, capillary refill is less than two seconds bilaterally. Feel free to speak up if anything comes to mind while you're here. History of migraines or light sensitivity?"
"No."
She stands to allow her fingers to comb through my scalp and add pressure to different points around my head, "Let me know if you have any pain or discomfort from this."
"Alright" quite comfortable actually.
"Good, no signs of alopecia...no pain from palpation, the skull is normal cephalic and atraumatic. You wouldn't believe how many people have been hit in the head around here and did nothing about it until I notice" she checks things off on her clipboard before pulling out a small notecard, "now I'll check your vision acuity."
She holds it about a foot away from my face.
"Just cover one eye and read the bottom line for me."
"Four, two, six, seventy-nine.”
"Perfect, can you cover the other eye and read the line above backwards."
"Nine, three, seven, sixty-two, four."
"Perfect" she scribbles away and stands closer, "now what I'm gonna do is have my hands behind your head and then bring them into your field of view and I'd like you to let me know when you can see them, okay?"
"Yup." where do I look, I may burst into flames if we have to hold eye contact.
"Just look at my nose" she taps it and winks.
Easy now woman I am gay
She brings her hands behind my head and then forward at different heights.
"Which ones wiggling?" she asks after I've said I can see them.
"Your left." I smile.
"Good, one more time"
"Which ones wiggling?" she bites her lip as she smiles.
"Your right."
"Perfect. Visual fields are intact in all four quadrants. I'll just look at your eyes now."
Of course
"Your eyelids are without ptosis and under ectropion, the sclera are white without erythema, look up for me?" cupping my face she rests her thumbs on either side of my nose and lightly draws down my lower lid, "Conjunctiva are pink. Next I'll look at the lenses so just stare at the bridge of my nose."
She removes a small flashlight from the chest pocket, moves it from the side of my face to the front, and does the same on the other eye.
"Good, no opacities or crescentic shadows... corneal reflection is symmetrical bilaterally, keep staring at the bridge of my nose…" she puts a hand up to block one side of my face and shines the light on the uncovered eye before turning it off and holding it vertically in front of me, "…good now if I can have you stare at the tip of my penlight then focus on the back wall...now back to the penlight...and to the back wall...great."
Ellie stops to check a few more things off the paper.
"Now eyes still on the pen light and without moving your head follow it with your eyes" she moves it vertically, horizontally, closer, and farther, "great you can relax for me." she pats my knee.
Reaching around me she pull an instrument off the wall.
"Next is the ophthalmoscope -say that three times fast- I'm just gonna take a look in your eyes. You'll see a bit of light, okay?"
"Okay."
She smiles stepping closer, "I'll try to be quick. Pick a spot on the back wall for me, I'm just gonna brace your head." she tilts my head back slightly and lifts the skin of my brow before looking through the instrument. "Red reflex noted...okay and other side...again red reflex noted...great. Optic disc and optic cup visualized, clear borders, no AV nicking noted, and no papilledema...now for your ears."
She replaces the tool on the wall and takes down another.
"I'll check your auditory acuity this time. It’s not uncommon for people surrounded by ongoing, loud machinery daily to have slight hearing problems." she pulls the table forward, "I'll just stand behind you and whisper a series of numbers or letters and I need you to repeat them back to me."
"Okay."
"Can you plug your right ear for me," she stands at the corner of the table behind me and whispers, "B N 6."
"B N 6." I repeat.
"Perfect, and the other ear," she shifts to the other side, "L 5 9."
"L 5 9."
"Auditory acuity intact bilaterally, on inspection no obvious masses or lesions, let me know if you have any pain with this." she steps almost between my legs and feels behind and below my ears, then tugs on the cartilage and lobes.
"No pain."
"Good, now I'll just take a look inside," she sits beside me on the table, "tilt your head just slightly away from me, perfect...tympanic membrane visualized...without erythema."
She returns the instrument to the wall and stands in front of me again.
"Let me know if you have any pain with this as well." she presses the pads of her thumbs where my eyebrows meet the bridge of my nose and then along the top of my cheekbones, "How long have you been working here?"
"Four years."
"Wow, what is it you do?"
"I handle the manual machinery. Mostly glass and wood carving, woodworking."
"You're quite handy then?"
"I like to think so." I smile at the innuendo.
She tilts her head and smiles, "No pain on palpation of the frontal or maxillary sinuses...I'll check your lymph nodes so again let me know if you have any pain." Ellie places her fingertips between my jaw and ears, where my jaw meets my throat, on the underside of my jaw, and where my shoulders meet my neck, "Tilt your head to the side for me."
My eyes fall to her lips and lift to unintentionally meet hers.
"Hi" she giggles, continuing to press against the nape of my neck.
I gotta gay- go I gotta go,"Hi" I laugh nervously.
"Tilt to the other side for me please...good, now just push your shoulders forward and lift them towards your ears." She presses the space between my collar bones and neck. Having glanced at my cleavage she clears her throat, "Looks good- your lymph nodes. All non-palpable so I-I'll check your trachea."
Ellie clears her throat again and glides her forefinger and thumb down either side of my throat while resting her other hand on my shoulder.
"Trachea is midline without deviation...coming down off of the cricoid cartilage...tilt your head slightly forward...perfect...swallow for me...” her eyes meet mine this time, “Perfect."
I’m gonna need her to stop activating my praise kink.
She checks more things off, "I'll have a listen to your heart.” Ellie moves the stethoscope to different points on my chest, asking me to take deep breaths. There's a lapse in silence before she comments, "Is it the medical or me making your pulse run so fast?"
When I finally look at her, a cheeky smile is on her face. A nervous laugh leaves my lips again when the side of her hand grazes the top of my boob to place the stethoscope back over my heart.
"Definitely me," she smirks, "it may be beating faster than mine...stand up and turn around for me." she adds quietly.
How could I forget this part?
"Good. I'll just check your spine now. It's common for issues to come up in your line of work, with the being hunched over and constant heavy lifting. No scapula protrusions or torso shift...touch your toes for me."
Oh goody
"No abnormal protrusion of the ribs or spine...stand back up. I'll have to do a lung exam."
"Sure"
"Can I unclip this, briefly?" she asks quietly, resting her hand on the clasp of my bra, "I just have to feel your back muscles."
"Oh- yeah that's fine." I keep my arms at my sides so the cups and straps stay in place.
"Let me know if there's any pain or tenderness…" her hands add pressure going from my shoulder blades to the curve of my waist, "good...no abnormalities in the muscles surrounding the lungs...although you're a little tense." she says more to herself.
Her hands hold my waist just below my ribs.
"Deep breath in...and out...symmetrical lung expansion...I'm gonna have a listen to your lungs so hug yourself and lean forward a bit for me. Just take deep breaths through your mouth when you feel the stethoscope on your back, any lightheadedness just let me know." she presses the stethoscope at different points along either side of my spine and ribs.
The cold metal makes me hold my breath for a second but it's the hand delicately resting on my hip that has all my attention.
"Vesicular breathing heard in all lung fields, no adventitious breathing sounds." Her lips along my neck sent a shiver down my spine, "Perfect." her hold on my hip tightens when I arch into her. My breathing becomes staggered as she places the stethoscope on the table, “Are you sure?” she slowly removes her gloves, giving me time to think- as if I need it.
I slip the straps off of my shoulder and plop it on the chair with the rest of my belongings. She comes to stand behind me and I turn my head to the side to nudge my nose against hers.
Ellie hesitates, "No one finds out about this."
Bringing my arms back to rest my hands on the sides of her thighs I promise, "I won't say a word."
Her wandering hands find my chest to take my breasts into her hands. Her lips glide across my shoulder then back up to my ear. Nothing is heard in the room aside from quiet gasps and the dirty sweet nothings she whispers in my ear. "I think I want to taste you first, I'm a bit impatient." Her hold on my breasts is released so she can unbuckle my shorts. Pulling them down over my hips and reaching around me to lay them over my bag.
How polite
She grips my shoulders to turn me around, trapping me between her and the side of the table. Finally bringing me into a searing kiss. Her palms find the back of my thighs to hoist me onto said table, hands settle on my knees eager to push them apart, "May I?"
I nod quickly.
Her lust filled gaze is trained between my legs, "All for me?"
I don’t get a chance to reply when Ellie pulls me closer to the edge. The anticipation building as she slowly removes my underwear. One hand goes back to my center while the other holds the back of my neck to bring my forehead to hers. The intimacy of the embrace earns a moan from me and a velvety laugh from her, "Does that feel good?"
I nod dumbly, overwhelmed by her fingers making languid circles over my clit.
She pulls her stool over with her foot and takes a seat. Trailing featherlight kisses from my knee to my inner thigh, skipping over where I need her most and kissing up the other leg. The sudden weakness makes me drop down onto my elbows. She spreads my lips with her hand and before I know what's happening, her tongue is on me. My body spasms at the attention, hips rolling to match her rhythm as I lay flat.
Her red hair flows over my stomach and I have to run my fingers through it. Brushing it out of her face so I can see her, holding it in my hand to encourage her, tensing when I can't take it anymore.
"Mhm, there you go..."
My back arches, "Oh fuck" I slap my hand over my mouth.
"Shhh” she smiles, “I know, baby, I know." Ellie takes hold of my hips to keep her mouth locked on my center while I writhe, "Mhm cum for me mhmm-"
My hips move on their own but she keeps pace, seeing through as the waves of my climax crash and crest. Once I calm down she stands and brings me towards her by my wrists. Wrapping my arms around her waist and cupping my face to bring me into a kiss, allowing me to taste myself.
"Were you watching me before you came in?" she asks, kissing along my jaw.
Embarrassment mixed with excitement has me admitting to it, "Yes."
"Bad girl...did you think about pulling my skirt up?"
"Yes…" I confess quietly.
"Do it." Still reeling from how soft her lips are, I take a moment to process her words. A smile graces her face as she steps to the side and bends over the examination table, "Well?"
Stepping down from the table, my legs and hands tremble as I reach out. Grazing against the back of her thigh at the hem of her skirt.
"It's easier if you're on your knees." she smirks, shifting her hips from side to side. The anticipation in her not so subtle request makes me realize how much she's enjoying this, too.
Dropping to my knees I reach up again to run my hands up the sides of Ellie's legs. Slowly pushing her skirt up, garters clipped to her tights come into view.
Am I dreaming?
Bringing my hands around to the front of her thighs, I brace myself in order to kiss the back of them softly. Flicking my tongue out ever so slightly before gently biting.
"Tease" Ellie let's out a breathy laugh.
I tug on the hem of her dress, "Can I take it off?"
She turns to face me, looking down at me as she unbuttons the top of the dress. Leaving the last few for me to do and allowing me to pull it down over her hips. "Is that better?" she asks stepping out of it.
"Much" I smile up at her.
She runs her thumb over my jaw and asks, "How do you want me?"
"C-can you sit on the table?"
She bends over to kiss me once more, "Keep looking at me like that and you can have whatever you want."
Resting my hand on her inner thigh I now press firmer kisses to her lower stomach until my hand reaches her covered center, where I placed an equally firm kiss over her clit.
After her hips buck ever so slightly, Ellie's fingers find their way into my hair but I don’t need any encouragement to remove the lace barrier. Once I do, a sharp tug at my roots pulls me up to her face for another deep kiss.
"The next time you come see me I won't even bother wearing anything under my dress" she said.
Fueled by her promise I duck my head to glide my tongue over her cleavage. Noticing the front clip I quickly unsnap it, freeing her breasts and earning a groan when I sweep across her hardened nipple. Making sure to pull it between my lips and teeth.
I kiss all the way down to her stomach, watching her muscles ripple as I slip lower. Her hand makes its way into my hair again, eyes close, breath spilling out in a heavy panting gasp. She sinks her teeth into her bottom lip when my tongue plunges inside her, soon replaced with two fingers. But there was no stopping the final moan when the burning rush of pleasure left her shaking.
Her thighs twitch from the continued penetration. I finally come up for air when Ellie pulls my head away and stills my wrist.
After a bliss filled laugh she brings my fingers to her mouth and cleans them. Drawing me even closer by wrapping her legs around my waist and pulling my arms around her once again. She kisses me slowly, sucking on my tongue as we part.
"I really hate to say it but we should probably finish your exam" she laughs, sitting up on her elbows, "you have anywhere to be after this?"
"I was gonna grab something to eat...seems I did anyway." I smile.
Her cheeks are tinted pink, breathing still evening out, "Seems you did. I know we skipped right to dessert- I told you I'm impatient, but do you wanna go grab some real food once we're done with this?" she motions towards her clipboard that holds the exam form.
"Sure." I nod excitedly.
Ellie laughs again, squishing my face, "We should probably get dressed then, huh?"
"That sounds like a good idea, I'm struggling to keep my eyes on your face." I smirk.
She rolls her eyes getting up, "I'm trying to do my job here."
"You've already done me so I guess that's fair." I sigh dramatically.
"Put some clothes on and stop giving me those eyes." she chuckles, pushing my discarded clothing against my chest.

nice to see you | kevin wendell crumb
Austin Salvatore walked alongside Dr Ellie Staple, who was busy looking at her clipboard about Kevin, adjusting her rose gold, circular glasses nervously, strands of strawberry blonde hair falling round her ears. “You haven’t hurt him, have you?” Austin asked, hands in her jersey pocket, the back emblazoned with her name, carrying another that had Kevin’s name on it. She used to be Kevin’s best friend, but she had a wild crush on the boy. She was there when Kevin’s mum’s abuse got worse, and she was also there because he kidnapped her, oblivious to who she really was because she used to be blonde, mostly because of her father’s abuse and wanting of her to be perfect. When the Beast realised who she was, he let her go and told her to never come back to him. But she knew she could help him, and Austin couldn’t give up on Kevin. “Thankfully, we don’t. There are strobe lights placed in the room that prevent Kevin from reaching the door or hurting anyone. But we know he’d never hurt you. Are you willing to give it a try?” “Of course, anything for him.” When Ellie looked inside, she saw a tense man with a pair of glasses perched on his nose, tidying the bed. “I’ll be watching from outside.” Letting Austin in, Dennis immediately looked up, a long sigh escaping his mouth when he saw her, traces of a smile visible. “Austin. I see you’ve remembered to dress nicely.” Then his smile became more visible; Dennis could never hide a smile when he saw her. “How are you, Dennis? Is everything alright?” “No. I’m locked in this room- the Horde is locked in this room with no escape. Do you think I’m alright?” “You look like you’re fine, no visible harm.” He suddenly started changing personality, a more childish face being taken on, a spark in his eyes telling Austin who it was. “Why are you here, Austin? Didn’t the Beast tell you to run away, etcetera?” He looked overjoyed and confused, as he always used to be with Austin. “I could never run away from you, Hedwig? Didn’t we share the kiss when I was with you last time?” He blushed, looking proud of himself. “I enjoyed the kiss. A lot. I liked Jade for a while, but then she was banned from the light. She was gossiping too much, Miss Patricia says. What does gossiping mean, I asked her, but she didn’t tell me. I’m too young, etcetera.” Austin smiled; Hedwig was too cute, with his lisp and way of saying etcetera every now and then. “What’s that in your hand?” He pointed to the jersey in Austin’s hand, a dark navy one. “This was Kevin’s college jersey, remember? I altered it to your measurements, but I wanted it to be a present for you. To make you feel less lonely.” She gave it to Hedwig, who hugged it tightly to himself, giggling. “It smells like you.” He pondered for a moment, “Miss Patricia wants to talk to you. Hang on a second, etcetera.” A moment later, Hedwig’s posture straightened up, a more feminine, mature look passing her friend’s face. “Hello, darling.” Miss Patricia had always taken a shining to Austin, and always pampered her with flowers and extra food. “Miss Patricia.” “We’d never hurt you on purpose, dear. I hope you know that I’m truly sorry. Did anything exciting happen during the time you were away?” “I imprisoned my father for… what he did.” “You look very fetching with your hair colour. I’m glad you got rid of the blonde hair dye, it really wasn’t becoming you.” “That sounds a lot like something Barry would say.” “I picked up a few tips, let’s say.” “It really was refreshing, talking to you.” “Thank you for the jersey.” “I need to talk to Barry.” “He doesn’t deserve the light-” “I didn’t think I asked for your opinion, Patricia. Give the light to Barry or I’ll force you to, and I have no intention of doing that.” “Why Barry?” “You’d never give the light to Kevin, and he may be too afraid to come out. I have no intention of pushing him. Now, I need to talk to Barry.” A second later, Barry emerged, grinning. “Austin, baby girl, thank you.” She gave a grin back, sitting next to her friend. “It’s no problem.” “They didn’t let me into the light,
and if I did go into it, you wouldn’t have to go through all that.” “It’s not your fault, Barry. You never did any of this. “I saw that kiss you and Kevin shared, when he was in the light. It was sweet.” “He was halfway through switching, probably doesn’t even remember.” “I do.” “That’s probably enough for me.” “Will you be back to visit?” “Course I will. I gave you the jersey, do whatever you want to make it look better, I’m not that good at altering sizes.” Patting Barry on the shoulder, she pecked him on the cheek before waving, his wistful and sorrowful wave given in return.

Like Mothers, Like Daughter
A/N: You have no idea how nervous I am right now, but I said I’ll post the first part, so I’m keeping my word, even though I feel like it’s not good enough. It has been rewritten at least 10 times and this is only some kind of introduction. For now it’s just my precious little Ellie. There’s no Mildred and no Wilhemina yet. But they’ll appear soon, I promise. Just bear with me, please 🙏🏼 Many thanks to @awildgothappeared!!! Thank you so much for helping me with this series and thank you for convincing me to post this part!!! I’d probably never decide to do it if it hadn’t been for you Stevie <3 This story truly means a lot to me and all three of them - Ellie, Millie and Mina have a special place in my heart. They’re my new holy trinity. I put a lot of effort into this story - that’s why it’s taking me so long.
Anyways, I hope you will all enjoy it!!! And just in case, I am sorry if this is shit, cause I actually sort of feel like it is 🙈 Also if anyone has any thoughts/suggestions/opinions do let me know!

Seemingly nothing had changed. Life was going on as it used to before, its usual way. Some governess would wake Ellie up at 7am, it wouldn’t be the same one who was there the previous evening. No, because for some reason the former one wasn’t suitable for the position. None of them were, because it was truly impossible to measure up to Mrs Staple’s expectations. Ellie knew, because she had been trying to ever since she had learned to speak. It didn’t matter how many languages she mastered or how good her grades were or that she became a champion of the fencing team. The woman, she was supposed to call her mother, would never be satisfied, the same as she would never be happy with the work all those governesses did. Some of them were fired, because they truly were useless, others were just unlucky and had a horrible timing - it really was an unpleasant experience to get in a way of annoyed Mrs Staple‒
Ellie stopped getting attached to them a long time ago. Not that she actually had a chance to. In fact, she didn’t even bother to remember their names any more and decided to give them numbers instead. Though sometimes, she did wonder where they find all of them. How many well-qualified governesses could be there in town? Where did they all come from?
That morning, the governess was bearing a name “241”. Quite impressive. Ellie thought as she was brushing her teeth. But it wouldn't last for too long. Perhaps it was only until the evening or maybe afternoon - depending on Lillian’s mood. And then the poor woman would have to leave, quicker than she appeared, just like 240 other women before her. That's how it worked with her mother. The demonic, callous woman really knew no limits.
Ellie was barely twelve, yet she was well aware what motives drove her mother's behavior. Each action had a perfectly explainable reason. The desire for power, the need of being in control. Though, the truth was, Lillian wasn't in a place to be a decision making one. She had never actually had a say and she knew, for a fact, that she would never have. She wasn't even close to it. She wasn't Staple, not by blood. And yet, despite this, she always introduced herself using her husband's family name - being boastful and vain as ever, nearly driving her only child apoplectic each time.
Lillian wanted to matter so badly, even if just for a moment, but still her actions, words, commands meant less than nothing. Even Ellie, though still a child, had more power than the cruel woman. And that's why Lillian hated her. She hated her only daughter, because Ellie was born Staple, she was born to the purple and carried an incredible power within her small body–
And all that appeared to be a good enough reason to terrorize 240 babysitters, who would not be needed at all if Lillian could just bring herself to care about her only child in the first place. But she couldn't and she didn't. She never wanted to have children, definitely not a girl. Maybe a son. Maybe–
If Ellie was a boy… maybe she'd be able to care, to love her child. But even then it wouldn't be the unconditional type of love. It would be yet another transaction, the tying agreement, which would, of course, be in her interest. Just like her marriage and all the relations within the family. But Ellie wasn't a boy and she didn't matter as much as a male successor would and so Lillian didn't care. She did what was expected of her, she gave birth to the next successor, and that was it. All she was willing to do and there was no way she'd put any more effort into it. She gave her husband what he wanted and was the least bit interested in her child's future. Lillian was too selfish to care, too busy fighting for her own position to even think about Elizabeth.
Ellie's father always told her that everyone had a little bit of the light and dark in them. People were complex like a cosmic system, both inside and outside. She liked that comparison.
"None of us are just black or white, or always right and never wrong. We have a universe within ourselves. We all have a little bit of the sun and moon inside. Everyone has good and bad forces working with them, within them and against them"
She believed it, but as much as she tried - she couldn't find any kind of light within her mother. There was nothing, just coldness and hatred - guiding her through life, leaving her blind to everything, but her selfish needs and whims.
"Elizabeth," her teacher's voice would bring her back to reality. And the day would carry on, as usual.
Ellie would participate in her classes and then have lunch downstairs. She would eat alone, as her father would be still at work and Lillian wouldn’t even bother to join the girl, preferring her own company over watching her little defeater, a perfect copy of her husband. Or maybe if they were lucky enough, the governess would keep her company. Though even if she would, even if somehow lady “241” would manage to keep her position and call it a day - Ellie probably wouldn’t decide to talk to her anyways. Why would she, knowing that the woman would soon disappear from her life forever?
But Ellie didn’t mind being on her own at all. She already got used to it. She had been a homeschooler since… always. She had been under lock and key her whole life, because that was their way of keeping her safe. That’s what they told her at least and she accepted it. That was the only way of living Ellie knew and she completely settled into it. She didn't ask, she didn't question their motives. She let it be, because there was nothing she could do. She didn't want to do anything.
She liked her life, well, she thought so leastways. She had nothing to complain about. She was safe, warm, had her books and her piano. Her teacher, constantly-changing governesses and servants provided some kind of company - preventing her from loosening her grip on reality completely. Her life wasn’t all that bad. Yes. It could have been worse after all. And homeschooling wasn’t the end of the world, right? It had both positive and negative sides, as everything - just like her father said. And that’s what Ellie was focused on.
After lunch her lessons would continue. The teacher would ask about some mathematical equations and she would solve all of them, before unerringly answering all subsequent questions. Ellie was a clever child and a fast learner. She was also stubborn and aimed at mastering whatever she wanted to perfection. She had to be good enough, she had to measure up, prove herself. And she was doing her best, steadfastly.
Everyone was foretelling her a bright future. She could do anything she wanted, those who didn’t know certain things were convinced of it. And those who knew the truth, the reality, the true meaning hidden behind the Staple’s name and the family roots - remained silent. Ellie was only a child after all, besides no one wanted to have a problem with her father, or even worse - with her grandfather. But they didn’t need to talk about it. Ellie, as a highly intelligent girl that she undoubtedly was, knew. She knew her future was doomed, because she was a prisoner, just like her father and grandfather, even her mother and the rest of the family. They were all prisoners, shackled with invisible cuffs - the life-long deal their ancestors had made ages before. They were prisoners to the nonreversible decision.
It may seem quite dramatic, sad even to some people, but they didn’t understand it. They never cared enough to comprehend the deep meaning behind the family’s actions, perhaps too ignorant or narrow-minded to decipher it. But they didn’t matter. Their opinions were irrelevant.
Ellie never had a problem with that. She never truly allowed herself to think about the future, but she didn’t need to worry, not just yet. She had her father - her guardian and friend - who was there to keep her safe. He always knew how to make everything better. How to fix what appeared to be unfixable. And he was there at all times. He was there to hold his little girl, the apple of his eye. He was there to teach her and guide her. To grant Ellie the love and approval she couldn’t receive from Lillian. He was there, so that she could have a happy and peaceful childhood. And all that made Ellie feel lucky. Not all kids had what she did. Not all children were able to experience this kind of love. She knew. Elias told her about those children - left on their own, without anyone who would look after them, or love them the way he loved her. Whenever she remembered all those stories something inside her hurt. Her heart - it ached, every time Elias was telling her about that one little girl.
Ellie undeniably was compassionate and sensitive, her soul was still pure and free, untainted. She didn’t have to bear the burden of her decision, she didn’t have to carry it on her own like her father. That’s why she couldn’t understand his breaking down. She couldn’t figure out the reason for his tears, when she gave him one of her teddy bears, saying he should give it to the little girl. Ellie couldn’t know. Not back then.
And then, when her lessons were over, their butler - Leonard would take her to the fencing classes. That was the only time Ellie was out, freed from the thin walls of the castle they lived in. She always cherished every second of it, because every moment of freedom was like an incredible adventure.
She had been training for years, because fencing made her stronger and showed a certain set of thinking skills. The classes would go great, as always. Ellie as a wonderful fencer would win some clash, but she wouldn't even think about it, already engulfed by anticipation of the evening.
Ellie’s favourite part of the day was dinner. No, not the dinner itself - the whole process of it. The anticipation and preparations. Their servants would be preparing everything, putting a lot of effort into details, so as to avoid getting in trouble with Lillian. She was fabled for her choleric nature and no one wanted to be reprimanded. That's why they always did their best, striving to meet Lillian's expectations and avoid unhinging her.
The table had to be polished until it gleamed. Table covers had to be clean and smoothed. Dinnerware and cutlery had to be polished to a high gloss. And napkins… napkins had to have the right colors, because colors couldn't clash. After all those years Ellie learned the process by heart. She remembered everything, every little detail and the order of all those actions.
A plate in the middle. A napkin on the left, then forks - salad fork and dinner fork. The right side was where a dinner knife, dinner spoon and soup spoon were placed. And then glasses - a water glass and wine glass - on the right, above the spoons. It wasn't all that hard to remember. It definitely was far more complicated when it came to the formal dinner place setting, but when it was just the three of them - Ellie and her parents - the servants didn't have to worry about it. Informal setting was enough, unless Lillian decided differently.
By the time the table was set, Ellie would be fully in on her anticipation mood. After all it wasn't about the dinner or setting the table, it was about her father finally coming back home. Elizabeth would wait impatiently - pulled up to comfortably sit on the windowsill of the living room window. She did it every evening. Awaiting her father's car to turn into the driveway. Waiting for him to cross the doorstep and take her into his arms as he always did. She anticipated having dinner with him and then spending hours on talking and listening to his stories.
Ellie waited. One hour passed. Then another. Lillian gave up and ordered someone to bring her dinner upstairs, as she wasn't going to eat with Ellie even under those circumstances. They complied, Lillian got her dinner and finished it, while Ellie kept waiting, not moving from her spot even for a second, so as not to miss the moment of Elias' arrival. She waited, but he didn't come back. She fell asleep eventually and Leonard carefully carried her to her room. His heart was breaking for the girl, because he knew exactly what was happening. He already knew what Ellie didn't or maybe she did. She did, perhaps, but refused to accept it…
She kept waiting. For hours, days, a week. Whenever she heard some car, she would rush to the window, hoping it was Elias. Ellie found it hard to focus on anything else. She barely ate and sleep, she just passed out from exhaustion basically every evening. Each time Leonard would take her upstairs and tuck her in bed. Though in the morning she'd be back downstairs, most likely wearing one of her father's hats or shirts - almost three times too big for her- but it didn't matter. She didn't care. If she could, she'd most likely not only wear his clothes, but also spend every minute of the day in her spot on the windowsill.
Where did he go? Why didn't he come back? Every part of her aching heart couldn't accept it. She needed him… who would protect her now? Who would be there for her? Where did he think he's going and why couldn't he take her with him? He always did. They always did everything together. And then he was gone, just like that–
Honestly, she knew he wouldn't come back. She knew, but she didn't want to let go, not yet. She wasn't ready to do it.
And it was okay. Ellie could say it by the way their servants looked at her - so sympathetically. They hurt too. Perhaps not as much as she did, but they did in their own way. The only person who seemed to remain untouched was Lillian.
Even then, all she could think of was herself. She didn't display any kind of emotions. She wasn't sad or hurt and she didn't even try to pretend that she was.
"Will you finally pull yourself together?" Lillian growled, sipping on her drink, not even looking at Ellie "He won't come back. Ever."
Ellie frowned a little. There were a lot of things she could tell her mother, a lot of mean and hateful things. Though it didn't feel okay. It didn't feel like her, so she didn't. She held it all back, responding with simple "Why do you have to be like that?"
"Like what?" Lillian asked, looking at her manicured nails, acting the least bit interested in what her daughter actually had to say.
"Why can't you at least pretend that you care?"
"Don't be pathetic, Elizabeth."
Ellie sighed. There was no point in continuing the conversation. She wasn't pathetic. It wasn't pathetic. Feeling was a human thing, right?
A few days later a tall man dressed in black suit brought Elias' stuff from his clinic. They packed it all in a box. Over 20 years of his research, his work, his life - were enclosed in just one box. Leonard carried it to Elias' office and Ellie followed. She needed answers that no one wanted to give her, so she hoped she'd actually find something in the box. And she did. Her father left her a note–
Seemingly nothing had changed. Her body was still susceptible to pain, still breakable. It had to eat and breathe air and sleep. It still shuddered, as it had shuddered before. She still had to learn and she did, as she had done before. Life was going on, its usual way. Nothing changed - and yet everything was different. People, manners, course of boundaries. And amid it all her soul traipsed elusively. It disappeared, then came back, drew nearer and moved away from reality. She hurt, she cried. Feeling like an alien - at times certain, at others uncertain of her own existence. Trapped in her own grief and pain.
Ellie had been raised in a box - her father's castle, a perfect world he created just for her. But life was more than that. Life was different and not at all perfect. In truth it seemed to be far more unfriendly and sinister than she may have expected. She found herself lost in the new reality. The reality without her father. The world she knew had been shattered, completely destroyed. And learning to live all over again wasn't all that easy, but she was strong. Elias taught her how to be strong and she knew she could face all the obstacles. She had to - for him.
She was born into this goddamn family and that was the only thing she couldn't change. Though all the rest, everything else depended on her. He hadn't taught her all the things she knew without a reason…
"In life there are only two permanent things - happiness and existential pain. Life likes to gratify and hurt. It's a venom that heals and a rose that pricks. At times it's pretty good, although sometimes it's quite bad. And future matters are unforeseeable…" Elias' note said.
And so despite the pain she still believed there was more good than bad in life. She just had to look hard enough - like her father said.

Top 5 outfits Sarah was in, including the characters
Alright, anon. We’re going to have to do this the long way because I have ENTIRELY too many favorite outfits from Cordelia and Venable alone to narrow it down to just five.
So! If it’s okay with you, I’ll do top 5 favorite “non-AHS” character’s outfits, and then my top outfits for her AHS characters!! (I know it’s not exactly what you asked for but I’m WEAK and I can’t make hard decisions like this!!)
Also, I’m going to assume you mean character outfits, not “award show/interview” outfits because if not this list would go on forever and I would probably combust from having to choose.
Here goes!
(I am SO sorry this took me so long, nonnie. I love you and I see you and thank you for the ask!!!)
1. Tammy (Ocean’s 8)
Is there literally anything better than this entire ensemble? It’s first because it’s perfection and nothing will EVER top it.
Love a good ruffle sleeve, plus the texture of the sweater? 10/10 would steal out of her closet.
Honestly if I was in a heist movie it would just be me trying to steal Tammy’s entire wardrobe. The collared polka-dotted shirt under the striped sweater with the high-waisted pants? *drools in gay*
2. Amanda (Blue Jay)
I know it’s just the one outfit, but come ON. It is such an outfit. I would have picked the dress alone, but top it with the jacket and the little beanie and whoops there goes my heart (P.S. I see those cuffed sleeves, and I love her for them)
3. Heather Tate (The Other Sister)
Is it just me or is there something so homoerotic about a short-sleeved high collar? Plus, the solid black looks SO good on her.
4. Abby Gerhard (Carol)
UGH, I love this outfit. Especially the pants. And also the sleeves. And also the buttons, belt, and collar. (Not pictured - and also the jacket and headscarf)
Honestly, Abby’s whole “muted green” aesthetic kills me. We love a monochrome palette. Simple as that. But add the scarf and the pockets and the thick buttons and the jewelry? Ohhhh boy.
5. Dr. Ellie Staple (Glass)
Hi asymmetrical turtleneck. I see you and I love you. Also the palette of this outfit. Plus the tiny pleats on the skirt? *swoons*
GIVE ME. A SWEATER. UNDER A BLAZER. ANY DAY.
I think we’ve learned by now that I love one (1) Sarah Paulson in high collar, button up shirts. And this is definitely no exception. Also the blue?? Against her hair?? Thank you.

How many of you had a close relationship with your teacher? Now I don't mean this in an inappropriate manner, I mean you felt safe with them and felt as though they listened to you.
It's not unusual for people to form bonds with their teachers, most common is English, Drama, and Art teachers, perhaps even a language teacher. These bonds can be all that some people have to help get them through school because for once they feel like they're being heard and have someone to confide in. But when you graduate, it can feel like the end of the world because you're losing that one person. You're not the only one to experience this, and you will get through it.
Take these things one day at a time. One moment at a time.
- Dr Ellie Staple

Take aways from 2nd viewing
- Casey is the Horde’s kryptonite. Fuck, you guys. True love is literally his weakness, and Casey took him out with it. Dr Staple literally used her to take out the Horde with a well placed suggestion when it was clear he was going to get away. If it wasn’t for Casey’s honest love for them, they would have fucking got away. It’s, like... “here, fans. Have exactly what you want, and then a side of punishment for it.” The film makes a point of pointedly stating David’s (water) & Elijah’s (brittle bones), but it never says what the Horde’s is (Casey/true love) ... because probably too creepy?
- There’s literally a plot hole. Like... a hole, visually established at the beginning of the film with a caution cone. It’s a hole that’s part of the plot.... plot hole
- Casey 110% wants to bone the Horde. Like... all the creepy fan fic? I think it’s more obsessive than we imagined. She’s obsessed. She’s still wearing a fucking Philadelphia Zoo jacket (she pulls it on after the hospital visit) The nostril flare when asked if she thinks about the Horde kills me, I love it. I also think she was trying to tell the Horde that they needed to play along if they wanted to survive (when she talked to them in the hospital visit) She wants them to be ok and she genuinely believed they needed to give up the light, but like, no judgement on all the murder stuff. She also 100% believes he’s a superhero/villain, no doubt. Does a better job than Patricia maybe... hence the purple diamonds on the jacket. She’s clued in.
- Ms Price is lying through her teeth when she talks to Dr Staple, just like Joseph tries to do, but she’s way better at it. She has 98% faith in Elijah the whole time, she’s his Patricia (but better at her damn job)
- Patricia was right the whole fucking time. The Horde were right, and Dennis fucking bailed ship, and he was wrong. I’m a little confused by that, I’ll be honest... I think they tried to “redeem” his character, but it felt off. If they’d just listened to Patricia/Horde, shit would have gone better... also, girl really did question her faith but she held true when it mattered, and that’s what counts... but you’ll never wear purple that way...
- They fucking stalled in the hospital for hours. HOURS. Via the security cameras, we know exactly how long it’s been between every fucking scene. Unfortunately my scribbled notes in the dark are neigh illegible... when the video comes out, it’ll be more obvious. Elijah talks to David over the mic at ~2:30am and we cut to 7:30am for the shift change and David still hasn’t fucking broken out of his room yet. Dude. Team Green fucking sucks and cost us our boys’ lives. David could have been out of there by 3am and well... other people would have died. It would have gone differently at least. Shit doesn’t start to hit the fan till 8am. Joseph is waiting on the steps, Casey pulls up in a cab, Ms Price has been creeping in her car, when Dr Staple arrives. The alert is 8:15 and security pops up at 8:31. The battle’s over by 8:45... Just... feels so plotted... (like it is)
- Elijah is insane, but not wrong. Both are true. I’m 100% behind Dr. Staple on the “just say no to powers” line
- Lots of POV shots and shot’s watching people react to things. It’s not about how the world reacts to them (think wide shots in action hero movies, the crowds fleeing the dramatic action scene), it’s how they react to the world. Didn’t like the camera work (centered on David) in the first fight first time I saw it but I enjoyed it much more the second time.
- It seems like the movie is asking the entire time “are they super heroes” aka “are they in a comic book?” and the answer is yes... but it’s, like, reluctantly so. This movie does to the comic book genre what Cabin in the Woods did to Horror (camp), Red Shirts did to Sci Fi (camp), and maybe what Funny Games did to Horror (torture porn) and What We Do In The Shadows did to Vampires (camp)? I think the Incredibles isn’t a fair comparison because they live in a universe that’s more accepting/aware of them... it lacks the sort of reluctant acknowledgement of what’s going on...
- Dr Staple mentioned they’d been doing this shit for 10,000 years. What’s then? Oh, you know, the advent of farming/civilization. It suggests that Elijah has just fucked a very key aspect of the stability of society. Also suggests things like Templar Knights, Salem witch trials, all that historical nonsense is tied together/is real. “Comic book” just being the latest lens through which to view the supernatural truths. I also like the idea that the organization is just being driven/controlled by some “super powered” entity that hit max level years ago and is camping on the respawn point/squashing all new supers before they can achieve greatness.

Y/N POV//
"Really good." Ellie switches between scrolling and reading my essay till she reaches the end, "It's a good start. Take a look at the last paragraph, though, it needs some clarity."
"Alrighty" I take my laptop back, reading over the section she mentioned.
We return to our own work for a bit. Seated at a small table lit by a hanging lamp, all the way in the back of the university library. Hidden by rows and rows of ceiling-high bookshelves. We’ve been here for almost two hours.
This woman loves to work.
Bored of writing, my attention shifts to Ellie. Elizabeth. Professor Elizabeth Staple. Dr Elizabeth Staple. Mine.
Dreamy sigh, turtlenecks have never been so hot.
"Hey, Ellie?"
She replies after a brief pause, "Hm?" clearly not paying attention.
"Dr.Staple?" I call in a nasally, high pitched voice.
Her head perks up and she activates her professor voice, "Yes?" Ellie rolls her eyes and returns to a relaxed posture when she realizes it's only me, “You’re a regular comedian, you know that?”
"What's your article gonna be about?" I laugh.
She smiles to herself, almost shyly, "Boring stuff."
"What kind of boring stuff?"
"The abnormal psyche kind." she scribbles in her notepad some more- preferring to have her notes the ‘old fashioned’ way.
"Please elaborate" I prompt, procrastinating my own work of course.
She furrows her brow as she continues to read.
"Elizabeth?"
She takes a long inhale, buying time to find words, "It's based on the theory of the reversal of self denial."
"I've never heard of that."
"Well you know what denial is right?" she arches a brow.
I narrow my eyes at her.
Ellie fights a smirk but ends up letting out the laugh I love, "Okay well it's like if you deny yourself something for long enough, for whatever self-imposed reason, then the moment you're faced with any real external imposition you're gonna involuntarily want to do the thing that you were trying so hard not to do."
"Did you just make that up?"
"No." she laughs, scooting her chair back and tapping the edge of the table, "Have a seat here"
"Why?"
She crosses her legs and rests her folded hands on her knee, "Because I'm going to demonstrate the theory."
"Alright..." I move her notebooks back a bit to make room for me to sit.
"Now, you know how you're often quiet when we have sex?"
My eyes widen for split second as I look around for any potential onlookers only to find we’re still the only ones here because no one in their right mind would be here this late.
But here I am. Guess I’m just that whipped, "Is that a problem?" I ask as she stands between my legs.
She tugs me a little closer so I’m halfway off edge, "No...I just wondered why, is all. So I figure if you're so darn quiet when you don't have to be" she tucks my hair behind my ear, "let's see how quiet you can be when you absolutely have to. "
I grab her hands when they go to unbutton my pants, "Are you crazy?" I whisper-yell.
"Ah ah ah, hold onto the table" smiling, Ellie positions my hands to hold the edge, "trust me, baby, you're gonna need it." I look down to watch her hand make its way into my pants to palm my center through my underwear, "Don't forget to breathe" she whispers, lips grazing my neck.
A shaky exhale leaves my lips when her fingers move past the waistband of my underwear and brush my clit.
"Good girl" she teasingly kisses the corner of my agape mouth.
My grip on the table increases as she places open mouth kisses along my neck.
She starts making languid circles with her middle and ring finger, "I'd be lying if I said I haven't thought of doing this before, well, more so bending you over and fucking you on my desk. Or laying you on your back...having you spread out and needy for me in my office. I'm no exhibitionist but claiming you in front of everyone, showing them how you're such a good little slut for me has crossed my mind once or twice during class."
My head falls forward to rest on her shoulder and I surprisingly let out a muffled groan.
Her velvety voice meets my ear, having dropped an octave, "Does that feel good?" and I can tell she has a smug smile on her face.
My response is cut off by one of her fingers entering me, "Ellie-" I bite my lip to quiet myself.
"Shhh, I know, baby." she brings her mouth to mine and uses her tongue to ease it open, then a second finger starts thrusting into me.
“Fuck-”
She swallows my moan with another kiss, “There you go, pretty girl.”
With the combination of sweet yet dirty nothings in my ear, lips and teeth on my neck, and a 'come here' motion of her fingers and tight circular motions with her thumb, my eyes screw shut and a final moan leaves my throat, "Ellie"
My eyes shoot open and meet hers as she rests her forehead against mine, easing me through my climax, "Give it to me, baby." She slows her motions as my trembling passes. Maintaining eye contact she sucks her fingers and releases them with a pop, "Mmm...theory confirmed. Though I can't exactly use this as an example."
Still shocked, I remain in the same position. Meanwhile she pecks my forehead, buttons my pants, sits in my seat, and goes right back to researching for her paper.
I have never loved psychology so much.
