Inspired by a video from Ginny Di, I've started a character journal for my bard/fighter, Mara!

Mara is part of Team Ponderance, and her portraits here are done by the amazing @thedovahcat

I designed the modular 5e Character sheet stickers (fuck having to redraw all this every time I level up...) And had to cut them out by hand because I don't currently have a streamlined way to get a PDF to cut well on the Silhouette.

So far, I have all the character sheet stuff ready to go in page protectors and the page protectors, binder, and note paper will be in on Sunday. I'm thinking about seeing what notes/letters/journal entries of hers I have in my computer files and printing them on antiqued parchment paper.

I also think I need to add some of Mara's doodles in here, but hey.

No one else.” She bites down hard on her cheek to suppress a disappointed whimper when he pulls back, leaving her craving his lips with only inches between them.

“Astarion…” The words die on her tongue. Her sudden emotions are sobering, the high and anger she’d been floating on simmering into raw longing. God… she really is so tired of fighting. Tired of it all… She just wants to give in, reach out and kiss- so starved for touch that it’s almost debilitating… craving something, anything, anyone for so long.

Someone to love. Someone to care.

She blinks, eyes dropping to his lips as she feels her resolve crumble into nothing. His gaze mimics hers, drifting down to her mouth, their bodies swaying closer as she closes her eyes.

“Then taste me.” If it hurts later, then at least she can say she wasn’t a coward.

Here, have a WIP

I've been writing out of order lately which is not my usual method. But anyway, I just finished this scene that is sort of a flashback, sort of an explanation for the beginning of my current fic. I haven't decided where in the story it will be placed but it's not exactly a big spoiler so I'll share it here, as a treat.

If you're interested in checking out my fic for more context, the fic is Dovah Sil on AO3. Only registered users can view my works at this time. The fic is The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, protagonist is my Last Dragonborn character named Ven. Ven is nonbinary and prefers they/them, and has a thieving background. They practice genderfluidity and have been known to use other aliases and pronouns, but that's more of an occupational advantage plus personal safety method rather than something they do for gender expression.

When Ven was still in Cyrodil, a friend of theirs from the Thieves' Guild came and told them about a long term job that nobody at the guild wanted to take. He told them it was risky but it was paying a lot of money up front and upon return, and it would cover their necessities during the job. The catch was that the job was in Skyrim, but the employer was willing to arrange secure and discreet travel. Ven and the old friend took a walk while they considered the offer, and they decided to accept it.

It took a month and a half of correspondence between Ven’s friend and the employer to work out the details. The plan was that Ven was an emerging artist being commissioned by a wealthy Nord woman named Maven Black-Briar. Their mystery employer had sent over travel documents that were impeccably forged, along with a letter that was both a greeting and their instructions.

Our mutual friend has spoken highly of your skill with unfamiliar territory. I’m sure you will not disappoint. And lucky for you, I’ve taken care of the finer details already. The Black-Briar name is real and carries a lot of weight. And they won’t be caught off guard if they hear you say it. Maven is a contact of mine and signed your documents as a favor to make them look more legitimate. All you have to do is play pretend and get to Riften in one piece. You’re welcome. Once you make it to Riften, I’ll be waiting for you outside of Black-Briar Meadery. Then we can get to work.

In hindsight, the job was too good to be true. Ven hadn’t gone very far into Skyrim when they got ambushed. No big deal, that kind of thing was expected and that was why Ven was accompanied by hired guards. Except, those hired guards were the ones ambushing them. And the employer, this person known only as M, had provided those guards. Ven tried to fight them off but was outnumbered and swiftly knocked out. At some point they were changed into rags, bound, and gagged. Eventually they awoke in the back of a wagon and wriggled their hands loose, discarded the gag, and ran away while the thugs weren’t paying attention. Then they ran, only stopping once when they saw a signpost just to make sure they were going the right direction. It was late in the night and the chill was settling deep into their bones, but Ven had to try and sneak back into Cyrodil.

Haven’t been as active lately and it’s been a bit of a rough patch in the personal life. But there is always positivity to be found and this commission was one.
