Sink me!
I found soooo many good memes on this lovely platform, that I've decided to contribute with my own! The last two is a pair, I came across this library tweet and I immediately thought about our Percy so I had to make that new version! (Also to me Percy gives off such golden retriever energy!)
The memes are also from the books so there is a tiny spoiler I guess in those😅 Honestly read them books!!! The first 5 is sooo good, there are also some really great things in other parts, jut read it! Btw I LOVE the fact that the audience at the time demanded all these new adventures and the Baroness was like listening!!! and serving!!! and gave us almost 15 books, basically fanfics about her own characters💅🏻
Also shoutout to the MUSICAL, (still pisses me off how forgotten it is!) Douglas Sills as Percy is pure perfection, the soundtrack and the LYRICS are just out of this world soo why are u still reading this and why aren't you violently typing it in Spotify or YouTube or Idon'tknowit'southerepeoplesodoyourselfafavorandgiveitalisten! Ok, Love u💋

no one underSTANDS the hold this MUSICAL has on me I WANNA SOUND LIKE CHRISTINE ANDREAS SHE'S SO REAL I WANT MY STORYBOOK ENDING BUT ITS SO TRUE THE ONLY WAS IS PRETENDING
WHY CAN I NOT HAVE A MAN LIKE PERCY
no this book has been my favorite book for years. like now I'm older and recognize the sexism and classism but it's still such a good book bro the Richmond chapter is something I have reread like five million times.
But like. Every song is such an emotional and personal thing to me on this soundtrack. I wish I could see it live but this is the kind of musical that probably wont ever have a revival :(
It's probably for the best. There will never be a Chauvelin like Terry Mann. Nor a Percy like Douglas Sills.
no but madame guillotine? lullaby? you are my home? there is NO EQUIVALENT its not the best quality song writing but it has a hold on me like no other musical except maybe waitress

My first introduction to the play was the Wildhorn musical, there are some really catchy and well written songs and a superb cast. I fell in love with the plot and Douglas Sills' performance as Cyrano. What really fascinated me was the original text. I read it and I was completely blown away!
Since then it became one of my fav dramas, I saw the stage version with Kevin Kline - wonderful performance, and the movie with Gérard Depardieu - I think it is an absolute gem! And finally I came across THIS! (It took me a little while and a whole lotta courage to listen to it bc I loved the Wildhorn version) I was always fond of Christoper Plummer but I never thought of him as Cyrano and by God was I wrong!
He is perfect in every way for this role and the music and lyrics are also near perfection. Also kudos to the writers for including the original text and putting it in between the songs for the playlist. This adds sooooo much to the soundtrack. I think I can safely say that this version (as for the character of Cyrano) is the best one (dueling with Kevin Kline) and the music helps a great deal creating that 'magical' aura of his.
In Christopher Plummer’s memory, I’m encouraging all of my fellow Cyrano fans to go and listen to the 1973 musical starring Plummer as the title character and with Anthony Burgess himself supplying the lyrics.  The whole cast recording is on YouTube and Spotify, and it’s an absolute treat–Plummer’s Cyrano is delightful, easily one of my favorite takes on the character, and anyone who doesn’t know what his real singing voice sounds like will be in for a nice surprise.

The Scarlet Pimpernel musical is a pretty naff adaptation all things considered, and it's certainly the worst that I've seen for, like, all of the characters - BUT I watched a filmed adaptation from like 20 years ago recently and the Chauvelin played him as though he was the main character of a romance who kept getting caught off-guard by being the villain in a swashbuckler and I was riveted.
