Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love! ❤️
Oh, my friend, this came at such a perfect time, I'm having this wave of self-doubt about my fics 😭.
So, I actually only have four WIPs on AO3 (believe me, I’m trying so hard not to post my Jilypad fic, but I’ve decided I’ll only post it after finishing one of my current WIPs).
Here are my babies:
Disrupted Allegiances (The Black Sisters, M rated)
Black family-centric (I’m updating a new chapter this week, btw!). It tells the story of the Black Sisters during the First and Second Wizarding Wars. Andromeda's POV covers the period before the first war (the rise of Voldemort, her falling in love with Ted, and her running away from home). Then we move on to Bellatrix’s POV (as the unhinged General of the Dark Lord during the first war). Bella has one more chapter left, which will come after the Interlude (this next chapter, which will cover the Black family’s downfall in the '80s). Narcissa’s POV will be the last, following the second wizarding war and the post-war period (and yes, Delphi will appear!). It’s canon-compliant up to The Cursed Child because I’ve decided Delphi deserves a better ending than what she got.
Turbulence (Marlene/Dorcas, E rated)
It’s crazy how F/F fics are so overlooked. I started writing this because I wanted to read Dorlene, but all I could find were fics where they were just side characters in M/M stories, and honestly, that pissed me off. So, I started writing this fic focused on them. Turbulence is canon-compliant (yes, the ending is sad, but the journey is worth it… I guess), and focus on the development of Marlene and Dorcas’ romance during the war.
Dissonance (Sirius/James, E rated)
LONG (extremely long! 12 chapters in and over 130k words) PRONGSFOOT FIC!! Dissonance follows James and Sirius from the moment they first met through their journey to becoming friends and eventually falling in love at Hogwarts. It's canon divergence, and we'll have something (which I can’t tell yet 🤐) that will happen that will cause them to fight (because I'm chaotic and love drama). This will lead to the arc where they become enemies (lots of sexual tension, friends). And the ending will be happy (I’ve actually already written the final scene), but there’s a lot of angst along the way. The story goes up until 1991 and will have between 25–35 chapters.
Fetters of the Damned (Harry/Voldemort, E rated)
This is my darkest fic (and also my most popular). It’s a dead dove because it portrays a very unequal and unhealthy relationship, so I strongly encourage readers to check the tags.
Fetters diverges from canon during the Triwizard Tournament when Voldemort lets Harry escape the graveyard and begins planning his complete domination of the wizarding world. His initial goal is to kill Harry, but when he discovers Harry is a Horcrux, his plans shift, and he decides he will have Harry at any cost. Voldemort infiltrates Hogwarts as the new DADA teacher and makes Harry’s life a living hell (who says romance is dead? lol). It’s a dark canon-divergent story that will have between 25–30 chapters, and, well, the ending fits the tone of the story (I’ve already written the final scene for this fic too).
And although it hasn’t been posted yet, my next story will be a Jilypad fic because I love themm. Such an underrated ship. Anyway, it’s Jilypad and will feature POVs from all three of them (James, Lily, and Sirius). It’s a canon-divergent story where I’ll give them all a happy ending. And who am I trying to fool? It’s mostly smut.
Thank you so much for the ask ❤️
It's nice to remember that there are people actually reading my silly ideas 😅

My Favorite Fanfic Tropes
@blitheringmcgonagall tagged me to list my favorite Wolfstar fanfiction tropes to read or write (in no particular order). I’ve decided to do five more general and five more specific. Thank you friend. It’s nice to have something fun and fictional to think about.
1. Historical/Mythological AUs - I was a history major in undergrad and have loved myths, legends, and fairytales since I was small. If they can be made gay and with some characters whose characterizations I really enjoy then all the better!
2. Honest Portrayals of Trauma - I’ve been through some shit, and appreciate reading characters who have been through some shit as well dealing with that shit in realistic ways.
3. Sibling Relationships/Found Family - I die for close platonic relationships. Adopted siblings, found family, siblings who have each other’s backs no matter what, best friends who would give anything for each other, you get the picture.
4. Contrasts in Characteristics/Ideologies - I love reading interactions between characters who are very different and interpret their experiences in very different ways, but fit together and support each others’ weaknesses.
5. Queer with a Happy Ending - I like happy endings. I like dark stories, I like angst and pain, but for me I need it to end happy. The real world has so much trauma and sadness and chaos, I want to read a fictional universe where no matter how dark it is I *know* they will get through it.
Specific to Woflstar
6. Canon Alteration AUs where things end ok for them - I don’t care if it’s first or second war, just give me a version where things end ok.
7. Sirius as effusive, Remus as outwardly reserved - both of these being different reactions to trauma in my personal headcanon.
Sirius (pre-Azkaban) dealing with trauma by making a joke of it all - “yah, life is just fun like that isn’t it?”. He moves a lot when he’s upset - jumpy, agitated (subconsciously preparing to dodge a strike whether he knows it or not). His making a joke of everything can be very detrimental because he doesn’t stop to think - because if you stop to think then you have to think about all the other stuff and that is NOT an option.
Remus dealing with trauma by closing off - being very, extremely careful and always being in control of himself and his actions. Freaking out if he makes an emotional decision without thinking first because that could be dangerous and he could hurt someone. Always overthinking. I find it extremely precious when writers both present that and show him finding a space where he can trust and just exist without constantly panicking that he’ll mess up somehow.
8. Remus as awkwardly tall - For me it just adds to his discomfort with existence because he hates being the center of attention and is freaked out that he’ll be seen as scary/a threat. He unconsciously hunches over so it’s less obvious.
9. Sirius confidently being the opposite of everything his traditional, wealthy, pureblood family wanted him to be - This is the reason I personally don’t like reading stories with a more dominant Sirius. Because that’s what was expected of him and personally I like to think he never wanted that. Regulus did - he wanted to be safe and for him that meant being isolated and stronger than anyone else, and so he could never understand why Sirius didn’t care about the status loss of being disowned. I like a Sirius who is by nature empathetic and emotional and couldn’t survive in a sphere where that was constantly belittled and considered inferior. The Marauders and his true family with James value that and give him a space where he can be himself confidently and unapologetically - societal norms be damned. I can argue this canonically if any of you come at me for liking a “feminine” Sirius, so don’t.
10. ALL the sibling relationships and happy queer characters - Give me all the siblings and found family, and all the queer characters. I love a good 1st war AU with Dorlene, Jily, and Wolfstar, and the more queer characters and representation added the better.
Anyone who wants to do this please consider yourself tagged!

Stress And Anxiety Faced By Students During The Pandemic
Tumblr media
“I feel much more anxious about my future now. It really feels hopeless for everyone.” Livia and Julia Morris, ‘What Students Have to Say About the Coronavirus’
The educational and career paths of all students since 2020 have been burdened with the unpredictability of the pandemic. Before the pandemic anxiety and stress were an unfortunate part and parcel of a students’ life. During the pandemic, they have become the dominant contributing factors of poor mental and physical health of students across the world. The quote at the beginning of this article mirrors the feelings of stress, anxiety and loneliness that we as students have felt for the past 21 months.
There have been several studies conducted by psychologists all over the world to observe, analyse and help the situational experience of the students during this difficult time. One such study was led by NBC News and Challenge Success, a non-profit affiliated with the Stanford Graduate School of Education. It revealed the impact of the pandemic on student well-being and academic engagement, with students’ reporting their stress levels are rising and they feel less engaged. This study titled ‘Kids Under Pressure’, included 10,000 students across a range of high schools throughout America in Fall 2020. Key Findings of the study, published on February 15th, 2021, were that students, especially females and students of colour, continued to experience high levels of stress and pressure and students’ engagement with learning, which was always a challenge, was especially low now (Kids Under Pressure: Covid-19’s toll on learning).
As we researched further, the various studies conducted, interviews taken, articles written were fearfully abundant. It was hard to choose from the available literature. No matter how many statistics we provide you with, it will not be an accurate and comprehensive picture of the life of students worldwide during the various lockdown periods. Stress and anxiety increased in the first month of the pandemic itself, as compared to the entirety of 2019. No amount of surveys can qualitatively describe the personal trauma faced by the students of this uncertain time. The factors of stress and anxiety do not stand alone. As major lifestyle changes took over, students had to not only get used to a completely new way of learning and giving examinations but also cope with the threat of a virus. Responsibilities at home piled on as family members had to support each other through the transition into a pandemic life. As the economic situation of countries worsened, at individual levels, many students dropped out of their school or college because they could not afford it anymore or they had to prioritise earning for the family over their education. Students had to switch to a more feasible institution or even rethink their career paths. Since we were confined to our homes, a sedentary way of life was predictable. Obesity rates accelerated during the pandemic. The physical and mental effects of obesity especially for students during their impressionable years is well known. Students thought that remote learning would be accompanied by flexible hours and less load of work, the conditions however had a reverse effect. As students experience their educational phase of life they are bound by the chains of evolving technology. Stress and anxiety have woven themselves around all these situations and many more.
The previous paragraph spoke about situational stress during the lockdown periods. The stress and anxiety is now rising as students begin to go back to college or school. In early 2021, Rosalind Dorlen and 4 other psychologists noticed that many of their patients were experiencing symptoms of anxiety, despite being undiagnosed with the disorder itself. Following an extensive survey, they came to a conclusion that the individuals returning to in-person activities may experience pandemic-related anxiety called Pandemic-Acquired Risk Avoidance (PARA). Now how can we relate this to college students you ask? Dorothy Cantor, a psychologist, who was an author of this study said that students experienced anxiety while being present on the campus even before the pandemic, due to the workload, being away from home or even beginning higher levels of study. This would gradually resolve itself over time. However, PARA is directly connected to the ongoing pandemic hence, it is difficult to determine when it will go away. Aliceana Lin, a Rutgers Business School sophomore, said that a lack of control over her circumstances has caused her to feel anxiety, something she had not experienced much before. She said this anxiety has affected her experience with returning to in-person activities, specifically sports, which she wants to enjoy but the threat of spreading the virus further looms over her. Kristina Tecson, a School of Arts and Sciences sophomore said that while she has experienced anxiety before, the pandemic has hosted a new set of challenges that can be overwhelming to take on. She said the college is already a time of growth and maturing for students, but the current state of the world has made it a far more intimidating experience.
Uncertainty accompanies students as they go back to the same routine before 2020. Some are anxious about socializing and maintaining relationships, while others stress about how different it will feel to be physically present in class to learn and sit for examinations. As we know there is always a silver lining present. A survey by BML Munjal University (BMU), a Hero Group initiative, which included responses of over 600 students across high school, undergraduates and postgraduates showed us the bigger picture that prevails during this stressful period. 78% of students surveyed are feeling more hopeful about the future than they did when the pandemic began. 37% of young adults said they realised the importance of mental and physical health, 28% said they understood the importance of family, friends and nurturing relationships and 12% said that the pandemic has restored their confidence in the resilience of the human spirit.
Although, a student’s life, since 2020, has been overloaded with social, emotional, physical and academic changes. They have experienced demotivation, tension and grief at higher than normal levels. Students have to be mindful of consuming a healthy diet, physically engaging their body to relieve stress through exercise and prioritising sleep. Relaxation techniques which can be practised every day through deep breathing or yoga can significantly reduce stress. Students can also clearly and effectively communicate with their institutions and teachers to find ways around the feeling of stress regarding their education. If you are a student and symptoms of anxiety are affecting your day to day life you also have the option to acquire professional help. While it is hard to cope with anxiety and stress, due to its common occurrence, there are an array of options out there for support and relief. Talk Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Medication are all the different ways in which you can receive guidance from a Mental Health professional to identify and cope with this stressful situation. We would like to leave you with a hopeful message, that going back to college or school may come with its problems but an important thing to remember is that it is a sign that we are beating the virus. One day we will leave the pandemic behind us and find a less stressful and a more happier, hopeful way into this new world.
There are numerous methods available to help people deal with their anxiety, but just as a specific medicine is prescribed for a headache and cannot be used for a stomach-ache, there are a number of techniques that can be used either individually or in combination to help one deal with their anxiety.

hi guys!!
this is outside of what I usually post but over the summer I will be writing a 65 chapter marauders fear street au. it's going to be centered around dorlene and Minerva and poppy as well as having jegulus, rosekiller, bartylus, pandalily, and wolfstar.
with the fic I want to focus on the tragedy of horror, the extent people will go to for love as well as the guilt of being the last one standing. I also want to focus on the idea of blame as well as redemption and exactly where the line is between good and evil (if there even is one)
the whole book is a walking trigger warning but that said if there is anyone who is interested in helping out (beta reading, editing, general advice) i would appreciate it, but I don't want any half assed advice. I'm not going to go around begging people who don't care about the fic for help, I'd simply rather write it on my own. but help would be greatly appreciated <3
