🎊 toki! I'm Muffin! Let's celebrate by drawing our sonas in silly party outfits 🎊

For my birthday (Dec 2nd) I thought… what would be a better gift than getting to see so many diffrent sonas? Especially if it’s of my friends, moots and possible future friends! I designed a party version of my sona and am hoping others will draw their own sonas in outfits to match that aesthetic

The plan is to draw submitted sonas in a big drawing at the end of the event! If you’re interested feel free to read more but if not please reblog this post anyway so that others can participate!

How To Participate:

1. Reblog this post with the specific tag #RSVP so I know you’re interested! 🎉

2. Submit your sona design! I am gathering the designs beforehand to hopefully get a head start on the group drawing. You can submit a design by sending me an ask with a reference! Simply draw your sona matching the outfit shown below. It can be a quick sketch, I just request it be fully colored- Also please include height or approximate size plus any other important details in the ask!

3. Attend the magma! I will have a magma open Nov 29th - Dec 3rd where I’ll be drawing and doodling throughout the days ( this is optional! But feel free to join me! )

4. I will do my best to draw all sonas submitted to me before Dec 1st in a group photo!

This is a pan-fandom event intended to put an aromantic lens on soulmate AUs: exploring soulmate stories that aren’t just about characters falling in love and getting together.

FAQ:

Are there submission requirements? Nope! Feel free to post drabbles, doodles, podfics, and anything else that you feel fits the theme/prompt.

What counts as ‘aromantic themes’? I’m keeping this broad - any exploration or rejection of the way soulmates hold up normative romantic ideals can count for this fic.

The two exceptions are writing poly soulmates and platonic soulmates, since those are also done often in fandom.

Examples:

a character rejects or leaves their soulmate

a character dating someone that isn’t their soulmate

a character that doesn’t have a soulmark

a character killing their soulmate

a character with an abusive soulmate

etc

Can I write romance? Do I have to write aromantic characters? Romance is allowed! As long as it meets above criteria - for example, exploring a romantic relationship between people that aren’t soulmates is allowed, but writing a character that gets together with their soulmate is not.

Can I participate if I’m not aro? Yes! See above.

Can I write original works? Yes! Note that works will be posted to AO3, but so long as you are okay posting your original work there, feel free to create what you like.

Barely remember the year to be honest. Just a lot of work and chores. Lol

Just some ramblings under the cut.

Achieved start of the year goals

Didn't fulfill my last year's goal of making commissions a full time job. I mean, I did for a little bit while but it's still not the right time yet.

Though what I did unexpectedly accomplish is that my fear of cockroaches had decreased. We had a family of house shrews this year (usually we had mice) and I learned they mainly eat insects. I still like to avoid killing the few huntsman spiders we have hanging around so the next big insect available would normally be a roach. So I'd bonk one if I find one (instead of immediately bolting out the room) so I can feed the shrews. I mean cockroaches, specially the American cockroach, still freaks me the heck out. But, like, it's shrew food.

Oh, also bought a display tab. I'll always be grateful to the Ko-fi supporters for reaching this goal! I'm still in the middle finding my rhythm with the tablet. Considering getting a paperlike screen protector to minimize the glass texture.

2024 goal

A new laptop of course. My ideapad is in the cusps of dying. 😭

I don't feel that productive in the drawing department this year. :/ My current day job does pay a little higher than my commissions and ko-fi requests combined... But I really don't fill fulfilled when I make less drawings. Let's see if I can make commissions a full time job this year. Or at least try to see if I can make my top source of income drawing related.

There are other goals I hope to accomplish this year, but these are the main drawing related ones.

Regarding commissions

There will be some adjustments to the background prices in regular commissions. Because, like, I shouldn't price it lower than the base price if I spent as much time drawing it. Lol

I think I'll rate Ko-fi doodle requests based on what the piece literally contain instead of basing on the amount of time spent drawing the request. It'll make things simpler specially with comics. I'll make a post about the changes when I decide on the settled rates
