My Wincest timeline. (Well...it was a timeline, then it devolved. Ciao.)
~~~~~
It's impossible to know who developed feelings first. Dean's entire existence has revolved around Sam since he was four, everything he could possibly have felt for Sam, he's felt. He doesn't even know when his brotherly motherly bent towards Sam turned romantic and sexual.
On Sam's part, Dean filled every role his father didn't. Dean was his brother, his mother, his closest friend, his enemy, his confidante, his father when John was gone. And when he hit twelve/thirteen/fourteen, his desire, his crush. Dean was his first love, and developed so gently, and naturally, that at first he didn't even register it for what it was. Surely these were typical feelings one had for their brother, when you were as close as they were, its not as if he knew anything else. And then he met other kids, hung out with them after school, saw how they interacted with their siblings.
Dean buried his feelings DEEP, he didn't think about them, didn't touch them. Sam was everything. And Dean wasnt about to do anything to screw him up like he was.
Sam's realization didn't immediately cause a rift between them, but it made things complicated. He was as forward as he dared, flirting, touching, leaning on Dean when he didn't neccesarily need to, grinning up at Dean from the ground when they grappled.
But when Dean didn't reciprocate, when Dean hissed at him to stop when Sam got too close when John was away, Sam tried to kill the feelings, he really did.
But they wouldn't go away. And as he got older and read and researched more, the abnormality of it all started to get to him. Yes, his decision to leave was mostly fueled by his conflict with John, and his desire to be ANYTHING other than a hunter, but trying to escape his feelings for Dean also contributed to his search for "normal".
And he thought he'd done it. He's gone to college, he'd had a great girlfriend that he loved, and he didn't even hardly think about Dean.
Until Dean came back.
And Sam...accepted it.
He'd tried not to be in love with his brother, and it hadn't done a bit of good. The feelings and desires hadn't gone away, they'd just been slumbering, resting, and if anything, Dean was hotter, and Sam's love and lust were stronger, than ever. (By the end of the first episode you can see him beginning to settle back into that old comfort, (smiling on the bedspread, ect) and by the second he is absolutely down to fuck.)
And Dean could see it, he could see that Sammy hadn't changed, and he knew he himself hadn't, he hadn't stopped thinking about Sam for a minute since they'd been separated. He was obsessed and he knew by now there wasnt anything he could do about it. But he was supposed to protect Sam, and that meant from himself too.
So they didn't do anything about it.
Sam was back to his old ways, but more experienced and seductive. And again, Dean held out.
Until Sam died, until Dean's deal. Once Sam found out, he forced Dean to hash it out with him. Days of fighting and arguing and Sam trying to touch and Dean batting him away, and silence.
And then the walls came tumbling down. Idk exactly when, I'm thinking sometime around Christamas, but they crossed that irrevocable line and havent looked back since. And its wild, and heady. Some days they touch each other like they'll break, full of reverence and awe and WONDER at the other person. Some days they're throwing each other around hotel rooms cause they CAN and it's FUN and they're so hungry for the other if they can't have sex right. now. they'll starve. And some days, especially in the beginning, Dean's guilt turns his stomach and Sam has to gentle kiss it out of him.
It never bothers them, when the other gets a temporary partner, sometimes they encourage it even. UNTIL, it gets emotional. They dont care if the other person wants to get physical with other people, they're allowed to have their fun and besides, they're brothers, the other will always come back to them.
They only get jealous, when it seems that their emotional needs, their being, is being met by someone else, even if only a friend.
Sex with others is fine, go wild. Attachment to them, is not. Fuck whoever you want, but dont love them.
And they have their trials and tribulations, they have their rough patches. But by the end of the show (and that's what really makes it burn) they've found their level ground, their domesticity. (I know, I KNOW they had sleepy, grinning morning-that-turned-into-afternoon sex in that bunker.)
#Idk what this is. I wanted to make a timeline and then I just started TALKING. I'm just gonna post before I think too much any more#Wincest#SamDean#Wrought up in my bones#Supernatural#📒
Hello! I am so happy to find someone who writes for the naturals!
Michael Townsend x Redding!Reader
Dean would not be happy. Like at all.
There would definitely be a, keep the door open rule.
And he would make it his personal mission to make sure you two aren't left alone for long.
He strikes me as an overprotective big bro
(also established reader plz)
michael townsend x redding!reader
hcs about being dean's little sister, also in the naturals program, & dating michael townsend. aka a recipe for disaster.
a/n: omg. ur mind. I LOVE THIS!!! i am a team michael girlie thru and thru so this is gonna be fun to write. tysm for the request and i love ur writings of dean and michael !!! i hope u dont mind i added some backstory, i tried to keep it to the point🤞
word count: 2.3k
warnings: none rlly?, suggestiveish content, some violence
you and dean were close, probably closer than most siblings would admit they were to their brother or sister. being only a year younger than him made it easier to connect and relate to each other.
because of the trauma brought on during childhood because of your serial killer father, you and dean were closer than ever. dean also became a lot more protective over you as the years passed by.
dean had always been your protector since childhood — beating up anyone who bullied you, scaring off mean girls, bandaging up any cuts and bruises, etc.
when the two of you started becoming more aware of your father’s horrendous acts, dean did his best to keep you out of it. he was the first to step for any torturous task your father asked of you, and was always quick to step in front of you in the presence of your dad.
after the whole investigation and arrest of your father, you’d met agent briggs & sterling, who at the time were married. there he sat the two of you down to explain the two of you had a special trait that labeled you under the category ‘natural.’ dean’s gift being profiling while yours revolved around being a forensic analyst.
it was difficult to comprehend, specially at a young age, but the both of you mutually agreed the best option was to go with agent briggs to join the beginning of the naturals program.
you were brought to some sort of safe house, where you were ought to live for who knew however long. there you met an older man, whose name was judd hawkins. you found out he was the one going to watch over you and manage house tasks.
after awhile, you were introduced to someone new, also natural. her name – lia zhang.
she was a natural lie detector and at deception. you were a little wary of her at first, but then the three of you became close.
however, she had always trusted dean more and was more best friends with him than you.
a part of you felt left out, but you didn’t speak up in fear of being dramatic. it was enough lia was your friend you told yourself.
not too long after another girl joined the small group, sloane tavish who was a natural statistician.
she was quite weird and awkward, spewing the most random facts when she saw an opportunity, but you got along with her great. however, she was almost occupied in the basement doing experiments to be a friend to you in the traditional sense.
you’d still hoped for a best friend of your own. and your wish got granted and brought to in the form of michael townsend, an emotion reader.
though at first, he was like lia when he arrived, closed off and not very open to friendships. but eventually you all warmed up to each other.
now that there was the presence of another male in the house, there was tension between the two. dean warned you to be weary around michael because he didnt trust him fully yet.
however, michael saw to this and took the opportunity to come around you whenever he pleased. and dean would retaliate by telling michael to stay away, but this only encouraged him.
you found him quite annoying at first, reading and calling out your emotions bluntly as casually as he says your name. but after awhile the two of you became very good friends.
dean was more lenient as he got to know michael, but the two never became much of friends - more on a frenemies level.
you and michael connected over books, music, and learned more about each other. his mask started collapsing and you were able to open up the persona he tried so hard to hide.
when him and lia started getting involved, you did your best not to care. you told yourself michael could be with who he wants, and him opening up to you didn't mean he liked you romantically.
once cassie joined you guys, you and her became quick friends. you knew what it felt like to be left out, so you wanted to include her as much as you could.
she helped you in realizing your feelings for michael. you hadn't ever let the thought cross your mind before, but after you confinded in cassie on your insecurity about lia and michael - it became clear.
so you chicken out and spent time with michael less. it was lucky for you that being best friends with him meant you knew a few tricks to cover up your true emotions. but michael could tell something was off once you slowly distanced yourself.
though your brother didn't mention it, you knew he was cheering on lia and michael if it meant you and michael disconnected. but he became occupied with cassie to get a chance to profile your reasoning for the distance.
it came to a head when he cornered you one night, demanding an explanation. caught off guard, you let a crack of your true emotions reveal, and it was enough for michael to quickly pick up what it meant.
you were utterly embarrassed and ready to face rejection, but he surprised you and instead kissed you.
he admitted he had a fancy for you, as he put it. and the two of you began your relationship.
you wanted to hide it for a bit because you knew dean would not approve whatsoever. but living with naturals meant there it was close to impossible to keep any secrets. lia was quick to catch on, and didn't waste a second in spreading it to the others.
the first thing dean did was punch michael in the face. it happened so abruptly, you both were in the living room then dean strided in angrily and just sucked punched your boyfriend.
you immediately shouted at you brother for his overreaction, but dean kept throwing threats at michael to stay away from you . michael clutched his face, but wasn't faced - he was actually amused and just gave your brother a taunting smirk.
you had to physically hold dean with all your might to prevent him from throwing another punch.
dean's protectiveness only got worse from there.
he watched the the two of you like a hawk. if he saw you close to one another, he would stand or sit between you both to divide you.
if you and michael went somewhere together, trust he was following closely behind.
for instance, michael took you out to the movies for a date - going as far to rent the entire theater for you both.
you leaned your head on michael at some point during the film, and that's when dean appeared from the seats behind you, and pushed your head off.
you were startled so bad, the popcorn in your lap went flying.
dean consistently tried to tell you that michael was going to break your heart, he isn't the type to be serious, and that his past relationship with lia was proof of that.
it was so much worse when he caught the two of you kissing or making out.
he screamed to scare you two parts, physically separated the two of you, and he sometimes even tackled michael.
you were completely embarrassed of your brother's actions, part of you feared it would actually scare your boyfriend away, but michael didn't care for dean's interference, he continued to be with you when and where ever he pleased.
once cassie and dean got together, things cooled down a bit. she managed to get him to see a bit of reasoning.
but dean still had a set of rules he expected you to follow.
number one on the list was - if you and michael are alone in a room together, the door had to be open. especially if it was his room you were in.
there was an incident that brought it on.
you and michael frequently went up to his room for privacy to hang out. usually, you took naps, watched movies, researched a case, etc., although the both of you always just end up kissing on his bed. at this point, dean still could not believe the two of you were together.
well, one afternoon the two of you were looking through interviews for a new case. then michael claimed he was desperately bored and needed to be entertained. you rolled your eyes at his antics and continued reading the transcripts.
but then he slyly began kissing your neck, slowly pulling you away from the case and into the comfort of his bed.
next thing you knew, you were under him, making out devoutly on his bed. no surprise that michael got what he wanted.
his hands made it way under your shirt when dean came barging in, having an inquiry on the case you were supposed to be looking at.
once he saw the position you two were in, he flipped out. yelling at michael to get off of you and threatening to kill him. you immediately sat up, composing yourself and tried to calm your brother down. michael was of no help, he just rolled his eyes at his outrage and said, "if your this angry at kissing, at hate to see your reaction to our other activities."
you threw a pillow at him, "not helping!"
everyone else ran into the room because of the loud commotion, much to your humiliation, thinking a something horrible had occurred.
lia was holding back a hard laugh, cassie tried to reel dean in, sloane threw in some statistics on sister and brother's best friend relations, judd had to break up michael and dean's fight, and agents briggs and sterling just stayed at their door annoyed by the whole event.
you wanted to forget that whole event entirely, the thought enough makes you wanna cringe in shame.
ever since then, dean has made it his sole purpose to ensure the door is always open; he even walks by the room every few hours, which he swears is just a coincidence.
the only common subject that brings michael and dean together is you. it seems to be the only thing they agree on when it pertains to your well-being.
they are quick to object to anything that would put you in danger.
lia had convinced you and cassie to go along with her to a college party, she claimed it would help you guys find more evidence for a lead on the case. she gave you guys some interesting clothing to fit the role.
you three got in smoothly and split up to talk to possible suspects or witnesses. you talked to were able to talk with a few people, feigning curiosity. lia had been right, there was connections to the case at the party.
you were talking with a guy who was as interesting as a brick, but he was unknowingly drunkenly babbling about possible useful information, so you acted interested, nodding along to his obnoxious story.
but then he started getting handsy, trying to get you into his room, and you declined very clearly multiple times, but dude couldn't take the message.
when you tried to walk away he grabbed your wrist harshly, calling you malicious names for leading him on. you were on the verge of calling for lia or cassie, when the drunk man was forcefully pulled away from you.
you were then pushed behind someone protectively, and you recognized his back appearance; it was dean.
turning toward direction of where the drunk guy was pulled into, and there was your boyfriend, angrily holding the guy by the collar.
"don't touch my girlfriend."
"girlfriend? dude, hate to break it to you, but she was all over me. practically whoring herself out since she's arrived."
michael wasted no time in throwing a fist to the guy's face for his remark.
dean also look agitated at the guy's degradtion of you, and for the first time, looked satisfied at michael's actions. eventually, dean had to pull michael away from seriously injuring the guy, and drawing even more attention.
cassie and lia made their way to you, surprised by the arrival of the guys, who looked pretty peeved at the fact you all three snuck out.
wasting no time, you all were driven back home by michael; quietly making your way into the house to avoid alerting sterling and judd.
lia and cassie were smart to quickly to make their way to their rooms, but you weren't so lucky; dean held your arm to stop you from escaping.
you were used to dean's reprimands, and even the occasional chide from michael when you did something dangerously, but you knew you were in for it if both of them were ready to scold you.
dean started it - rhetorically, asking what were you thinking, then went into his 'protective brother' rant you were too use to. then michael jumped in, saying you going along with a lia plan was never the best idea and that you should've at least told him to go along with you.
they even took turns having a go at how stupid the entire plan was. you never wanted them to go back to fighting more than now.
why couldn't they have bonded over sports or games like normal people.
you tried to defend your side, saying you did find helpful information, but it fell deaf to their ears.
you were watched like a hawk for week after that. dean even threatened to put a ankle monitor on you. michael was even amused at his threat. the jerks.
dean and michael's small alliance quickly ended the moment michael made a indecent comment about you at dinner.
in time, dean did start getting along with michael. he still liked to act protective, but you knew in his heart he trusted michael and knew he was a good man for you.
but to this day, dean continues to glare at any pda you and michael share.
god, you'd hate to see the day michael asks dean for his blessing.
wait i have more to say. i saw someone else say that youre their favorite wincest writer and i just need to raise my hand and say ME TOO!!!!
i only VERY recently admitted to my best friend that i ship them and when i was reading house song i was going NUTS and i NEEDED to talk about it. so i ended up sending my friend a 10 minute long voice message going through the plot and how beautifully written it is and how its fucking me up!!!!!! im going crazy and shaking dean just SHOT HIS DAD!!!!!!!!! AND IT WAS BELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!! and my friend was like holy fuck that fic sounds crazy but in a good way and they dont ship it but i think they at least get it now lmfao because wow.
and deans guilt over the life he has given sam. an orphan living on a mattress with no money and just his fucked up older brother. goddamn. i want to hug dean. and sam thinking the worst that dean left him like dad. but then ultimately realizing there is literally NOTHING dean wouldnt do to reach him. its just so cathartic and OH THE FLASHBACK TO BABY SAM. ‘no boo boos?’ ARE YOU KIDDING ME? and then then the parallel because sam is covered in blood again and it ISNT HIS. NO BOO BOOS!!!!!!! but he is so so so hurt oh my goddddd
im sorry im so feral about you i just dont have the magical talent with words that you do. like deans admission and saying that the word falls out of his mouth like a dead body hits the ground????? how can i even attempt to match your beautiful fucking mind. ugh. i wont recover from this. your an inspiration for real. okay i will leave you alone now thank you for the brain worms
HELLO!!
GUH the hits keep COMING!!!!!!
i am giggling and kicking my feet that you explained my fic to a FRIEND HOLY SHIT!!!!! oh to hear this voice message lol <3
i had to read this ask series out loud to charlotte, who was also giggling and kicking her feet on my behalf.
i am so glad you found it believable! that was one of the biggest struggles for me, and i liked the boys' characterization in this one, so i'm so sososo happy that you did too!!!!!
i've never done this before, but i thought since you like it, you might find the planning process interesting! i don't do outlines for all of my fics, just the really hefty ones (the heaven fic, this one, and a few others), and i've found this helps me a lot! you can see some things that i've cut or changed. charlotte and i usually plan these out over face time, lol, and she was mostly asleep through this entire planning one (in her defense, she had been working all day). i hope you find it interesting!
i hope you don't think less of me now that you know i wrote that they "boink" 🙏 it was like two in the morning. also handwriting reveal? omg?
anon, i've said it before but i'll say it again--THANK YOU SO MUCH🥺🥺🥺🥺 uno reverse card as well bc folks like you encourage/inspire authors to keep writing!
i always love hearing which parts folks like best, and this fed me for months to come!!!!!!
and please feel welcome to come back and scream with me about these two any time the mood hits you, lol!
-lizzy BELIEVE IT OR NOT BECAUSE ANON IS TRYING TO MELT ME this is 2/3!!!!!!
(house song, the fic in question for anyone curious!)
The Venture Bros Rewatch notes: Careers in Science
gonna start a new reblog chain every two episodes so they dont become too long. this one is a doozy to me. SO much of s7 is scraped from this one episode
I can't stop imaging the implications of Venture Industries going from being a fairly sized cutting-edge company that had over 2000 employees just on the Gargantua 1 (so way more on earth), to having absolutely zero staff and their main HQ building in NY closing (to become the impossible building (and then impossible industries crashing when he goes evil (and tHEN VENTECH CRASHING [literally!!!] after JJ dies (i just think that scraper is cursed))))
I love how Brock is in sweats and a beanie. He saw those dorky spacesuits and said absolutely fucking not
Also, the opening conversation between Brock and Baldavich is SO funnnnnnny. This woman hasn't had sex in 6 years at least and is getting off on guiding a rocket into a space station.
okay i dont care about bud as a character but he'd be a great inciting incident imagine if he had interpreted the Morse and opened the machine and saw Jonas - and THAT was why Rusty and Brock were called up to the Gargantua 1 during this episode
we know Bud was the paperboy on Gargantua 1, so he has essentially been on that space station since Jonas died, for the past twenty whole years. Not straight, literally, but still, jesus. Mentally at least. I'm actually surprised he wasn't able to remember Morse code and decipher the blinks of the Problem Machine. i imagine it was incredibly traumatic and that why he hasn't led a life in any other way, he's still a paperboy twenty years later.
Bud thinking Brock is dr. venture is hilarious it reminds me of fullmetal alchemist. if we want to be gay, he COULD
what is WITH brock's shorts over his sweatpants wtf on earth. so superman
Doc never even took the pills before he hit his head on the console after the gravity was turned back on. i TRULY think he was talking to Jonas' consciousness. the conversation between them is so funny. "youre a hallucination" "fine maybe. but even if im a hallucination im still your dad. what did you do to my space station"
the way hank and dean get so mad and upset when they think doc is dead its actually very touching and sad when you think about how at this point theyre still being endlessly cloned
"you were just flipping switch. think! cmon tiny wonder, you helped me build this thing." "i was just a kid i just wanted to play cowboys and indians, who lets a ten year old help build a space station anyways!"
hank and dean thinking brock is wrestling the phantom space man, and then fucking the phantom space man, they just took it on the chin and assumed immediately Brock would have sex with a man
"oh rusty you don't need diet pills, you just need to figure some things out. remember lad, the solution was in you all the time." either rusty is hallucinating jonas saying that or the man's bodiless head really is trying to encourage his son.
either way it speaks a lot to their relationship. i feel like verbally jonas was very upbeat and forceful optimism, and it was his actions endangering rusty and lack of emotional care that really traumatized rusty as a child
"he has a huge mushroom, does he have a smurf living in it!" i laughed
"you already took it! in the lap! from...not! me!" laughed so much
rusty's childhood toys gunking up the gargantua 1 console. there is a metaphor living in here somewhere
the way bud talks is so old fashioned even for the show. he's got to be the same age as rusty yet he talks like professor impossible or even more anachronistically. maybe baldavich has only been there for 6 years, but bud has been manning the station for multiple tours on end and has only old media to entertain himself with
i love the little zhu-zhu-zhu-zhu-zhuuuuu music its only in the very early episodes
"oh man whats it like being a giant liar"
the suit pee dripping....SO GROSS yet as an animator lover i appreciate it
overall i really do love this episode. first one without racism, thank god above. the joke of baldavich being super ugly is lame, but its tamer than in its always sunny in philadelphia with the way dee is treated like a bird.
i seriously am trying to wrap my head around what it would be like if jonas had actually been recovered in season one. so much character development not done, so much just hasn't happened yet would it even matter? would it be better for jonas jr to be born after jonas comes back to life or after?
tiny bit off track, but i keep picturing an alternate universe where rusty and jj are born at the same time and jonas is still disabled but more interested in science but stuck at home whereas rusty is terrified but able bodied and expected to follow their father everywhere. rusty being a big brother.........
"Anonymous:Hi. Why do you say that Jared fans are the most chill and nice part of the spn fandom, when in twitter, they were the first to be happy and mock jensen's work? I dont care about anyone but it was cringe to read the pettiness and bad taste of JP fans" lollll considering there are not one but TWO heller cults that we know of that abuse their own members and encourage them to abuse others this is the most hilarious tale of fake woe
Oh yeah, I saw on my dash that escapees from Destiel-heller Jaistiel's merry band of mean girls cult are apologizing for their own non-specific crime of toxic behavior. Notice that the escapees aren't confessing and making amends, their apologies are largely about making themselves feel better, but still, could be step in the right direction.
Before Destiel hellers, there were and are the Ackles Army and I've told my story many times that my petty bickering with them on the defunct IMDb forum was half the reason why I started this blog on this hellsite. These two groups of fuckwits all have the same goal: to get rid of Jared because that is the only way Jensen and/or Misha can succeed in their careers, not because, you know, no producers wanted them as leads for expensive tv projects.
I recall Will of The Teamfreewill2pointo blog said many times that escapees of Goob's cult have contacted him saying how terrified they are of Min/Occam/Aaron and their merry band of make-believe-terrorist. Speaking of Goob, that blog is gone. I'm guessing they're just show up under a new identity, complete with new gender and racial identity looking to grift SPN new fans or migrate to another fandom to terrorize. They're still active on twitter and this is one of my favorite of their's ...
Look at that, no retweets and no likes and barely a hundred people read it. Buddy, it's you who is going away because none of your claims panned out. You took nothing. The SPN fandom has and will always belong to the fans of Sam and Dean and Codependeny Bro Bonds.
what do you think beth was going for with the whole "i just really like having sex with him" line? was she downplaying other feelings to herself? was she trying to get a rise out of dean? i dont think she was cuz that was a relatively peaceful conversation between them. but obviously the sex isnt the only thing about rio that does it for beth. i would think shes trying to downplay their connection but more for herself not trying to stick it to dean at all but idk
I’ve spent some time trying to formulate the general feel in my head about this scene into actual words. I super appreciate the ask, Anon! Love the ones that really get me thinking.
I agree with you, this wasn’t said with the intent to wound Dean. They had just come to an understanding and Dean was just waiting for her to sign the divorce papers. By this point she wasn’t even having sex with Rio anymore. Didn’t expect to ever have sex with him again. They’d just played their 20 questions game and he asked her to leave. She was under the understanding that whatever they had was over.
She came into Dean’s study with the intention of validating him. She told him he was right. That she couldn’t quit crime. That she liked being good at something most people could never even dream of doing. It’s because of this candor that I think she didn’t intend her words to hurt Dean. The opposite. I think she offered him the gift of honesty. In a broken marriage I think both members of the couple struggle with the unnerving feeling of never quite knowing what’s true. Especially in cases of affairs. Beth knew firsthand what wondering does to a person. How it makes you feel like you’re crazy and like maybe you’re imagining all these things that your partner is lying about. So she told him. Not through veiled denials, not through gaslighting him, not through her clear changed sexual preferences. She told him in actual words that what he thought she was doing with Rio was true. That he wasn’t crazy. That she had sex with him and she did it because she liked it.
The calm behind the statement was pity. Or maybe even empathy. Because she knew how it would feel. The truth is both a pain and a relief. She’d felt those feelings before. Except Dean’s honesty came with anger and with blame. “What did you think would happen?” He blamed her for his affairs. Beth’s honesty came from a place of almost kindness. Despite Dean’s lead-in asking for a comparison, she didn’t compare him to Rio. She didn’t blame Dean, even though Rio DID listen to her more and DID encourage her in ways Dean never had. But she didn’t make it about Dean (the way Dean made his affairs about her shortcomings, hurting her more.) She took it on herself. Confirmed it for him with that pitying little “yeah” at the end. She took responsibility for once and let him have the truth. Because she thought their marriage was ending.
I do agree, there was a lot of self denial in the statement, too. Idk if Beth even has the vocabulary to express the conflicting and complicated emotions that she has about Rio. But in this specific moment, it didn’t matter what she felt. She was telling Dean the truth for his benefit. To end his suffering of not knowing. It was a kindness despite his fallen face.
I think im dreaming. This isnt real.
When you met them, you thought they were the shit, but you dont know the pain i went through with her, and shes probs told you all about her drama.
It is fucked.
The way i told everyone to like you, and they followed me, despite the shitty email you sent, and then how you attacked me back over time, shut me down, demanding responses, called me from the goaddamn work phone.
How m just told you everything so easily, like i was nothing to him.
Tbh, he hasnt been the same with me, and he was critical of me after you guys spoke.
What cruel injustice.
That you cant see.
That selfish bitches are out there, when im the one in pain, doing all the work, never getting credit.
Not once did she acknowledge my help publically, just kept shutting me down.
Kept telling me her drama and insecurities and bodily functions. For real?
Makes me want to run away from m.
----
Oh but the look on your face when you asked me if dean went into a meeting with me straight away, but i said no, he just let me know when he was available, she was so fucking jealous that I can do this.
Just reach out to a senior manager and chat to them about stuff, cos shes scared to. Because Dean is the way he is, she says, hes "hard to impress." So i guess shes jealous that ive impressed him.
Its like, ppl who are career focused to be managers, doesnt mean they should be.
And the people who should be, arent given the recognition they deserve.
I mean, she kept banging on about leadership, and its like, butch you have no idea what even leadership fucking means.
The jealousy combined with the fact i have real leadership over the team, and im not even trying. Definately not trying to promote myself here, just stating the facts.
But its still some type of sweet justice that that cunt has now fucked off. Fuck you bitch, you dont know shit.
Im secretly glad you're jealous that I have the ability to speak openly with senior managers sbout anything.
Fucking hell.
Thinking about this, has made me cry.
I wasnt able to tell my team mates, cos they all thought she was the shit.
So i have to wait, if m and i are ever together, but i doubt it, im not feeling anything from him right now cos of his judgyness. I mean, maybe they hooked up. Probably.
Who the fuck am i to think anyone could ever be a man and approach me.
I mean, B me more than m at the moment. How fucked up is that, even if B owes me, and thats how im justifying it.
I have to deal with soooooo much shit.
I almost feel like telling him that Deans been the most stable support Ive had for a number of years, just to piss him off. Like he should do better. That maybe that bitch was lying.
---------
I have to sit away from luke next time in the office anyway, so you can deal with staring at me from a distance and me looking fine af as always, like you cant have me and watch while everyone approaches me.
Cos whilst im humble af and down to earth, i am the queen of that team, even if i dont want to admit it myself or use that language.
They all gravitated towards me, even last year, long before I was point of contact, and none of them knew about my previous roles of team coach, etc.
Even luke s had a glowing report of me, and how approachable I am when helping others especially with emotional shit.
So I've pulled up my big girl pants, and stepping back into my god-given leader role.
Guiding the team on how to deal with our actual tm. Taking on board a lot more than i should, but not complaining.
Messaging the group chat with diplomatic words as well as encouragement and support, well before her farewell email with her shitty five words regarding our actual tm.
And it's showing already, how I live by my words, amazing that Emilie is loyal to me publically, and I don't ask for it.
Just some sweet frosting on that butches cake, as shes constantly refused to ackowledge her success with us was entirely my doing.
I literally cannot wait until she tries another tenured team, and gets slammed. That'll be the real fucking karmic justice.
-----
Karmic justice how senior managers know how I am, that I just say things out loud that need to be said, without fear (Thanks autism and abusive ex.).
Maybe it really is time to acknowledge that I would actually be a really good manager, and maybe I should apply and start getting serious with experience.
There are so many shit managers out there, and a severe lack of good ones.
Can I be one of the good ones? Kerry is still the best manager ive ever had, with hannah and dan a close second. And while dean isnt actually my manager, he's one of the best people in management I know, and im glad that we see eye to eye on things and that i make sense to him.
Can i break through my own belief-limiting thoughts?
🤔🤔🤔
#yes yes yes#this is exactly why i have a problem with saying sam is soooo kind and empathic#like it should be encouraged and it makes him the 'normal' and 'well-adjusted' one#while its so clearly a sign of trauma#in that he is only able to face his own issues through projection on others#especially bc its the only way he connects to people at all#and dont get me wrong. i like that he's able to help them#but i really doubt its helping sam himself#cause most of the time its just ends up in sam putting himself on the line for others again. like his own life isnt worth it#taking on the problems of others who are LIKE himself but never ARE himself#while he should be extending that kindness and forgiveness to himself#but thats a point he never really gets to. or deals with#so when he's praised for it it gives me such 'as long as your trauma is useful to us and you're quiet about it we will ignore it' vibes#it makes me wish sam got angrier and more selfish about it#except the whole problem is that he couldnt#which is why he needed those mirrors in the first place#also. i love how dean was the only person who was able to see right through that#my take on it is a bit less optimistic than op's ig but ive never seen it put into words so well#sam#sam and trauma
(tags by horrorshow)
that gifset from 12x4. “pain purges sin” “no, it doesn’t.” screaming abt this forever. because like. post s6 we don’t get to see sam angry. ever. except for a few rare moments where he is angry on someone else’s behalf. and then he’s pissed. and it’s fantastic on one hand because sam going off on someone for being an awful human being on behalf of a teenager that wasn’t able to stand up for themselves is!! yeah!! and then on another level it’s even more impactful because he’s also being angry on behalf of himself.
he doesn’t let himself ever directly express anger about what happened to him, about what he went through, about what he did to himself !! but he lets himself be angry for what happened to others, and that’s the closest he gets to acknowledging he didn’t deserve what happened to him, and it’s so.
your psychic child is not inherently evil. she is not the devil. her pain will not purge her perceived sins. you killed your own child. she did not deserve what happened to her. he’s talking about magda and he’s talking about himself and this is the only time he will ever let himself talk about himself like this.
and that’s also really narratively interesting, considering sam has always had the most intense character moments through other characters. example—john wanting sam killed never manifests in john ever physically pointing a gun at sam, but sam points a gun at madison. sam points a gun at jake talley. sam points a gun at the rugaru jack. that’s how we get to see the intensity of john and other hunters thinking sam deserves to die.
in the first few seasons, sam’s character arcs are helped along by these mirrors and parallels. and then in the later seasons, when the writers have given up on him/he doesn’t have the energy to care about himself, sam’s character lives in mirrors and parallels.
and there’s just something so. like. batshit insane to see. when this pattern of sam + parallels started out with him killing characters that were mirrors of him, and then, after he’s been through so much, after he’s wanted himself dead, sam + parallels is the only way he is able to express any kindness and sincerity toward himself, any anger on his own behalf, any grief for what he lost of himself. it’s this narrative theme that started as something that showed him his own death and then, though it continued to be that (rowena! his own soulless self! etc!), it also turned into a last, desperate means of empowerment.
i was not inherently evil. i am not the devil. pain will not purge my perceived sins. people who were supposed to love me tried to kill me. i do not deserve what happened to me. character parallels are the only way he gets to even acknowledge the truth of what happened to him. it’s. it doesn’t happen often enough, but when it does, it’s so much.
sometimes I see spn x-coded posts and I'm like. y'all need to spend a few hours reading alterhuman info posts and then a few days just giving on alterhuman blogs cause it sounds like there's some deeply complex and personal relationships with these characters and I think y'all might find it useful if you had words to describe your relationships with these characters
#like i just saw a post about dean-coded ppl being uncomfy reading cas/other people fic and i went#money looking away meme#cause like i mean maybe thats just an exaggeration or maybe dean is your kithtype or synpath or maybe even kintype. like.#im not actually encouraging that tho cause if ppl go into alterhumans spaces with closed minds they end up having very weird strong negative#reactions. so yeah like its super interesting and can be super helpful and i cannot express enough how helpful it was to have language to#describe my feelings about the ocean past 'i dont believe in past lives but i know that the majority of the molecules that make up me were#in the ocean at one point because it feels like im supposed to be there' like yeah thats A Thing and theres a community of ppl i can talk to#about it and learn about similar experiences#but yeah basically. look into it if you gave an open mind if youre prone to diagnosing strangers u disagree with w/mental illnesses then#1: log off 2: oh gd please dont please keep using x-coded and dont say kin you dont know what it means#mine
i DID read all of these except for the one specified.
not pictured:
-all the authors ripping off their actual successes like the pigeon goes to school or clifford takes a shit or whatever the hell. those are all f tier
-one of my favorites, "good news, bad news" which i couldnt find in the room where books are kept. thats a tier
S TIER:
-everything is connected by jason gruhl, illustrated by ignasi font. can't really communicate how good this one is, makes me want to write picture books
-happy (says mies van hout and lemniscaat but i dont know who the author is out of those). highly expressive drawings of fish paired with simple labels of emotions. i LOVE things that encourage kids to look at more abstract art
A TIER:
-pete the cat and his four groovy buttons, written by eric litwin and illustrated by painter james dean who i believe did pete the cat before he was books. cute and not nearly enough childrens books with a message of "don't worry too much"
-harry the dirty dog by gene zion, illustrated by margaret bloy graham. a fascinating allegory for the human condition and it teaches kids about negative space
-not quite narwhal by jessie sima. very nice and positive outlook on multiple identities, perfectly executed. twee but who cares
-on the night you were born by nancy tillman. highly joyful and lightly religious.
-meesha makes friends by tom percival. about autism, kinda heavy handed, still nice
-what will fit? by grace lin. visual mathematics and spatial reasoning. too rare in books for young children
-bringing the rain to kapiti plain by verna aardema illustrated by beatriz vidal. lovely fairy tale, nice rhyming, was one of my favorites as a kid
-the red book by barbara lehman. no words, fascinating storytelling. loses a few points because its reliant on the kid audience paying close attention
-the color kittens by margaret wise brown. the best classic little golden book ive ever seen by far. little more than that.
-go, dog, go! by pt eastman. a good seuss disciple until the part where all the dogs have a party in the tree, a concept which i remember bringing great delight to me and other young girls
-the family book by todd parr. todd the legend. this is his only book here and it's a perfect a. nothing noteworthy but books like this dont need to be
-ten little fingers and ten little toes by mem fox, illustrations by helen oxbury. the best of the "youre a baby" books here. nice and cute message of all babies on earth but loses points because there have to be some babies born with a different amount of digits right
B TIER:
-i see you (by?) eric carle. eric the legend. this one is adorable, exactly the quality youd expect from such an artist.
-fry bread by kevin noble maillard, illustrated by juana martinez-neal. massive bonus points for the pages covered with tribe names. great example of how to introduce things like this to kids without downplaying the size of history
-the mouse, the strawberry, and the big hungry bear by don and audrey wood, illustrated by don wood. i just realized myparents are gonna be really mad if they come home and the floor is covered in books. even cuter when i realized its written by two people.
-walking together by elder albert d marshall and louise zimanyi, illustrated by emily kewageshig. simple injection of native spirituality, would cause kids to ask questions (good)
-the umbrella by beth ferry and tom lichtenheld. simple but holds attention perfectly until the payoff.
-the very hungry caterpillar by eric carle. eric the legend. classic on its own. nothing to say
-abuela by arthur dorros, illustrated by elisa kleven. another sweet family story. extra love that it teaches spanish without feeling catered towards english speaking white kids.
-thunder bunny by barbara helen berger. best of all the "animal is born with a weird trait" stories present for its shameless mythologization.
-here and now by julia denos, illustrated by e b goodale. a lot of basic stuff about mindfulness that wouldve went in one of my ears and out the other, but i think they hit on more by asking children to think directly about the book being in their hands or their teachers hands, their bodies being positioned in relation to that, the floor and ground, and so on. its almost like simulation psychadelics in that sense
-the tenth good thing about barney by judith viorst, illustrated by erik blegvad. good basic meditation on death but wordy
-mr brown can moo! can you? by dr seuss. theodore. i wasnt going to put this any higher because i have nothing to say but what could i complain about
-a little stuck by oliver jeffers. apparently an abridged version of stuck? boring but thats the point, which is a good artistic concept to introduce to kids. i would talk about it if i were a librarian
-goodnight moon by margaret wise brown. was always boring to me, but legendary as a work of poetry
-the empty pot by demi (no further information). i love classical allegories!! i dont know if children do so much though
-in the attic by hiawyn oram, illustrated by satoshi kitamura. kind of story thats overdone except for the twist at the end which wraps it up nicely.
-og clifford by norman bridwell. i forgot there was an actual premise in the first book
C TIER:
-moon by britta teckentrap. cute concept, wouldve bored me.
-little you by richard camp, illustrated by julie flett. also lovely but would have bored me.
-it's spring! by samantha berger and pamela chanko, illustrated by melissa sweet. was expecting this to be nothing but it's definitely something. interesting that this one took two people to write though
-where the wild things are by maurice sendak. never cared about it as a kid but legendary art.
-little blue truck by alice schertle, illustrated by jill mcelmurry. the best of all the "relatively small machine" stories present.
-a friend for growl bear by margot austin illustrated by david mcphail. some fake ass last names in here. one of my favorites as a child but it also made me sad until the last page
-the snowy day by ezra jack keats. god tier illustrations, wouldve bored me.
-are you my mother by p d eastman. nice, classic. been aped plenty.
-my heart fills with happiness by monique gray smith, illustrations by julie flett. hold on pause post. another one that does nothing wrong but i would not have taken much from it
-don't let the pigeon drive the bus! by mo willems. very great concept leaning into child contrarianism, i saw an interactive childrens theater play based on it once and it was very fun
-"huggy kissy" and "potty", from a series of other books with similar names, by leslie patricelli. unexpectedly cute and concise but expectedly very basic, no points for narrative effort
-blueberry girl by neil gaiman, illustrated by charles ves (?) i cant see the name now in the photo i took. as i read this i thought "this is nicely structured and sweet but has weird appropriative white people vibes". then i saw the author and that made sense. my prayer for neil gaimans daughter is a bit different: break contact asap
-lloyd finds his whalesong by skylaar amann. not particularly unique but a good opportunity to teach about different forms of communication between humans and animals
-along came a fox by geogiana deutsch, illustrated by cally johnson-isaacs. story concept is b tier but the aesthetics chosen are simply too generic
-full, full, full of love by trish cooke illusrated by paul howard. this one is boring by way of plot but pro-soul food family books can only go so wrong. as things stand theres too many books about white children eating apple slices with grandpa i dont fucking care
-aberts tree by jenni desmond. interestingly, uses the same forest aesthetics i hated in along came a fox, but i dont find them as grating here. the story is ok
-all you need for a snowman by alice schertle, illustrated by barbara lavalee. as a child i did not understand the premise that the children are doing a stone soup type of thing. to me it was just a book about snowmen with an increasing number of words in the same sentence which is pretty common for childrens books
D TIER:
-the mole sisters and the question, other mole sisters books, by roslyn schwartz. for some reason reading these made me genuinely mad but i cant dock too many points because i literally cant put my finger on why
-the hike by allison farrell. LOVE the words on each page labelling the visible elements of nature. dont really care about any other part of this
-stellaluna by janell cannon. sorry but i think this one is boring. you only liked it because you thought the bat was cute. overhyped
-i am perfectly designed by karamo brown, with jason "rachel" brown, illustrated by annosha syed. theoretically sweet and moving but the art style does something bad to my feelings towards humanity
-lola reads to leo, lola plants a garden, lola visits the library by anna mcquinn. very goody two shoes, would have hated this, but slightly better production quality than most other equivalent books. ranked in order of most to least premise
-outside in by underwood/derby (??). very preachy. important subject, but not a lot of room for kids to think about it for themselves
-the lion and the mouse by jerry pinkney. i love when fables are retold in a more conscious and empathetic manner like this and i like wordless stories but the realistic art style combined with no words wouldve meant i tuned out instantly if this was ever "read" to me like it would instantly dissolve in my brain
-tumble bumble by felicia bond. plotless and the art style makes me sigh but i also "liked" this one a lot when i was young (prompted thoughts of spatial reasoning in my mind, i actually remember finding it a bit frustrating)
-the piggy in the puddle by charlotte pomerantz, illustrated by james marshall. art is very cute to me as an adult but i wouldve disliked this for the general lack of payoff
-let's go, froggy! by i cant tell the page is ripped. subject matter is something i was deeply frustrated by as a child but in theory i like these kinds of narratives where parents make the same mistake as their children. execution is mediocre.
-i am a bunny by ole risom, pictures by richard scarry. holy shit i dont care. im so mad at the idea of trying to form an opinion on this
- i am a mouse by ole risom, pictures by richard scarry. are you fucking shitting me dude
-annie and the wild animals by jan brett. i also dont know what the hell i could possibly say about this one. ranked lower than the others for feeling slightly pretentious without the presence of any intelligence to justify it.
-the maybe garden by kimberly burke-weiner, illustrated by fredrika p spillman. this is a bad picture book for children but honestly a pretty good one for adults. i think the value of the message and tone would be lost on children it would just be really boring to them
-i can do it! by trish holland, illustrated by vanessa brantley newton. this is a childrens book written to appeal to adults, not like the one i just described above being good for adults to read, but for adults to feel good about giving to their kids who will not care because its just a portrayal of a child going to school. i remember books like this having a condescending feeling that made me mad though i didnt know why at the time. its because theres nothing for a child to get from this its for parents
-a fox found a box by ged adamson. same watercolor woodland aesthetics i hate, story adds nothing to make it worthwhile
-mike mulligan and his steam shovel by virginia lee burton. love the personification of the steam shovel, everything else is dismal
F TIER:
-many moons by james thurber, illustrated by louis slobodkin. i usually like fairy tales more than this. i think i always hated stories where characters were tricked superficially like this by people close to them because i was scared of that
-seeds and trees by brandon walden, illustrated by kristen and kevin howdeshell. what the hell did the author of this book do. this is some james sunderland shit
-the rainbabies by laura krauss melmed, illustrated by jim lamarche. boring and i hate how close the old people are to you in the drawings. i like the old man on the back pogging though
-bear and wolf by daniel salmieri. waste of paper. literally what was the fucking point of this
-elizabeth hen by siobahn dodds. wouldve been a great way to teach about the difference between fertilized and unfertilized eggs but thats too close to sex i guess so lets just waste more fucking time and paper and ink
-good dog, carl by alexandra day. seems like someone politely informing you of a better childrens book you could write than this one
-charlies superhero underpants by paul bright and lee wildish. wouldve scored higher if the book jacket didnt use fucking metallic print. insanely self important for something with no substance
-the seven silly eaters by mary ann hoberman, illustrated by marla frazee. this poor woman gets no fucking break until her kids make her a cake on ACCIDENT
-the rose in my garden written by arnold lobel, illustrated by anita lobel. i remember that i read this one but i cant for the life of me remember what it was "about", im guessing nothing
-the night before kindergarten by natasha wing, illustrated by julie durrell. oh my god i dont care. get this white child out of my sight forever
-franklin and the thunderstorm by paulette bourgeois, illustrated by brenda clark. i fucking hate franklin
-i'm a bulldozer by dennis r shealy, illustrated by bob staake. propaganda
-the little snowplow by lora koehler, illustrated by jake parker. less informative that the previous one and i hate the snowplows fucking face.
-all baby einstien books. in a complete inversion of the name, these are an insult to the intelligence of the age group zero and up
-maybe by kobi yamada, illustrated by gabriella barouch. trying to skate by on the talent of your illustrator is low.
-my beautiful child by lisa desimini and matt mahurin. dont remember a single thing about this but apparently it sucked
-emma's pet by david mcphail. ??? what relation does this have to anything. i genuinely cant think of a thing to take from this as an adult i dont know why it was made
HELL TIER:
last week tonight with john oliver presents: a day in the life of marlon bundo, by jill twiss, illustrated by e g keller. i did not even open this one. everyone involved in making this should be burnt at the stake. apologize to marlon brando. apologize to rabbits. apologize to children. apologize to art
this weekend im staying at the house i work at and ill be making a tier list of all the childrens picture books there
why was sam never more freaked out about the oh I dont know massive man-sized handprint branded into his big brother’s shoulder. just a question. like fellas does your brother ever come back different (beholden and bonded to a horrific cosmic being whose TENUOUS FUCKING TETHER to personhood IS your deeply damaged and emotionally battered sibling). I understand sam was doing demon coke but maybe we could’ve wrapped that plot up earlier to have conversations such as: dean, maybe don’t yell at the lightning barely contained in the body of a suburban dad, and dean, maybe don’t encourage him to imprint on you like a baby duckling when he’s getting lobotomized every other weekend. dean, maybe don’t let him suck your soul juice
i feel like i need a glossary of terms or a contact list for all these people involved with the show. i have shit memory and dont pay attention to the credits who is sera (sara??) and why does everyone hate her!! why is he Bobo!!!!!! please... has anyone posted about this im desperate
lol well including everyone involved with the show would be difficult, but I’ll give you some highlights
Eric Kripke: creator of Supernatural, showrunner for seasons 1-5. People have differing opinions about him but general people enjoyed his run and he’s considered the best showrunner in the series overall. Not much to say because there’s a lot to say lmao (notable episodes: “Pilot,” “Lazarus Rising,” and “Swan Song”)
Sera Gamble: writer who was involved from the beginning of the show, became showrunner after Kripke left. Her seasons, 6 and 7, are typically regarded as the weakest seasons. She was a huge brothers-only supporter, and was responsible for Misha being written out of the show (as well as Jim Beaver, Bobby) in order to get the show to just be about the brothers again. There’s a lot of drama regarding her treatment of Misha/Cas, but more recently she’s known for the Magicians debacle, a horrendous example of the Bury Your Gays trope. She’s also involved with (the showrunner of?) You on Netflix. She was a pretty good writer, but overall fans dislike her because of her showrunning tenure (notable episodes: “Faith” with Raelle Tucker, “Death’s Door,” “The Born-Again Identity”)
Jeremy Carver: writer from season 3 that was promoted to showrunner from seasons 8 through.... some time in 12, the timeline has been a little murky to me. He was the one who brought Cas back into the main plot, as well as allowing the deancas storyline to become genuine subtext (we can argue whether it was queerbaiting or what he was intending to do if he had been running the series finale, but yeah). Unfortunately, he was also the showrunner when Charlie was killed off brutally, which dampens his legacy. People are conflicted about his seasons, but generally he’s looked upon favorably (not related, but the picture that comes up when you search him on google is NOT him, he’s really like a typical white nerdy looking dude lol) (notable episodes: “The Rapture,” “Sacrifice,” “Do You Believe in Miracles?”)
Andrew Dabb: writer from season 4, promoted to showrunner during season 12 and is the last showrunner of Supernatural (he wrote the finale). He was well-liked by deancas fans for awhile because of how much screentime they were allowed to give, and because of the focus on extended/found family. Sam and Dean only fans didn’t like him for the same reasons. Unfortunately, HIS legacy has been marred by the awful series finale, though it’s debated whether that was his fault or because of network meddling. (notable episodes: “Dark Side of the Moon” with Daniel Loflin, “The Prisoner,” “Moriah”)
Robert Singer: executive producer since the beginning of the show (he’s also co-showrunner throughout Supernatural, but I don’t think he typically was involved with the plotlines too often). He’s directed quite a few episodes, including the infamous wire fight episode (s13 finale) as well as the series finale. Married to Eugenie Ross-Leming, writer of the show
Eugenie Ross-Leming/Brad Buckner: writing partners TECHNICALLY from season 1, but they only wrote one episode until they were brought back in season 7. They are regarded as the worst writers in all of Supernatural, responsible for tactless death scenes of fan-favorites (and typically minorities) like Kevin, Charlie, and Eileen. They also feature a gross amount of dubcon/noncon, racism, weird unnecessary sex stuff, and are SUPER into Lucifer for some unknown reason (they have a crush on Mark Pellegrino I guess). They’re also just kind of bad writers in general, their pacing is weird and their plots convoluted. To be fair, though, they have written some good moments, like Dean trying to reach Cas in Hell’s Angel and Dean’s confessional scene in Paint It Black. But overall, they suck. Why are they still on the show even though BOTH sides of the fandom (who never agree on ANYTHING) dislike them? Well, because Eugenie is married to Singer. Nepotism. (notable episodes, the ones I can stand to watch lmao: “Holy Terror,” “Hell’s Angel,” “Our Father Who Aren’t in Heaven”)
Ben Edlund: writer from season 2 who left after season 8, but people STILL talk about him simply because he is arguably the strongest writer of the series. Cas fans particularly like him because he did most of the heavy-lifting regarding Cas’ characterization. He also wrote the famous bi!Dean scene with Aaron in season 8, where Dean is flustered after being flirted with. (notable episodes: “On the Head of a Pin,” “The French Mistake,” and my all-time favorite “The Man Who Would Be King”)
Robert “Bobo” Berens: writer from season 9, his first episode was “Heaven Can’t Wait,” which is all you really need to know about his influence on the deancas storyline. He’s also gay, so people particularly enjoy seeing how he approaches destiel in his episodes since it’s not just another straight guy potentially just catering to fans. He was also the one who was meant to go off and run Wayward Sisters, and is responsible for a lot of their development in recent seasons. I believe he also created Rowena? He wrote the episode this season where Cas confesses his love to Dean (along with other heavy deancas episodes like “The Trap”). Sam fans typically don’t like him because he doesn’t give him much focus. (notable episodes: “Heaven Can’t Wait,” “Who We Are,” “Wayward Sisters” with Andrew Dabb)
Steve Yockey: writer from season 12 through the beginning of season 15. Also gay, and also responsible for deancas moments in recent years. Generally loved for his deancas subtext but ALSO because he is an amazing writer who came out with iconic episodes. (notable episodes: “Celebrating the Life of Asa Fox,” “Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets,” “Peace of Mind” with Meghan Fitzmartin)
Robbie Thompson: writer from seasons 7 through 11, and wrote some fan favorite episodes in the meantime. He is also the creator of fan favorite characters like Charlie and Eileen. He was also one of the few writers who was vocally supportive of destiel during his tenure rather than just later. I’m not implying anything about his intentions, but it was validating for him to encourage fans during a time where most of the cast/crew ignored or actively dismissed it. Plus his episodes are just fun! (notable episodes: “LARP and the Real Girl,” “Fan Fiction,” “Baby”)
Meredith Glynn: writer since season 12, has worked closely with Bobo during their seasons together. She and Bobo cowrote “The Future,” which is the mixtape episode, so she has been taken in by deancas fans haha. She also wrote the episode where Cas makes the deal with the Empty, so it’s pretty safe to say she and Bobo had worked on the deancas plotline together :) She’s also liked some deancas-related tweets on twitter, so she’s being subtly supportive (notable episodes: “Regarding Dean,” “The Future” with Robert Berens, “Byzantium”)
Davy Perez: writer since season 12 (a lot of the ones I’ve mentioned are, since this is when Dabb became showrunner and made changes in the writers room). His episodes tend to either be horror or bizarre. I mention him because he’s responsible for episodes like “Stuck in the Middle (With You)” (Cas’ first “I love you”) and “Tombstone” (aka Brokebacknatural lmao). I don’t know much about him otherwise, but that’s why he’s brought up usually (notable episodes: “Stuck in the Middle (With You),” “Tombstone,” “Atomic Monsters”)
hopefully this helps, and hopefully I didn’t forget about anyone major. There have been a LOT of people behind the scenes so it’s hard to say who to include. Like, I didn’t mention Jerry Wanek, Jim Michaels, Kim Manners, Thomas J. Wright, or others who might be mentioned from time to time.
