Persona 2 monsterverse thoughts

This one’s been vibing in the drafts for a while. I decided to note these down after talking to a new person and discussing some other writing content, and it took me a WHILE to eventually do even that. Then Kinktober hit lmao. But! Either way, I hope you enjoy, these are just some of my thoughts with no real context given towards the actual au setting, so sorry if some of these don’t make sense or seem really far off. I tried taking characterization or canon shit into account for extra fun.

Tatsuya Suou

Starting off simple, in my monster au, I like to make Tatsuya something called an Oracle. Which, is exactly what it says on the tin. Inspired by his persona Apollo, I thought giving him the role of the dude the gods bash in the head with cryptic visions of the future was funny and fitting.

Eikichi Mishina

In my monsterverse, Eikichi’s a slightly oddball hybrid. Being a combination of a vampire, and a siren-like creature. Something that can sing and put you under a spell with his voice alone. Whether that’s a mermaid, or some ancestor creature that the modern mermaid branched off from is not exactly known. Just like the extent of how much of that lineage he inherited isn’t really known. Which, is inspired by him being a singer, and...an rp shitpost, basically.

Lisa Silverman

Lisa is a Kumiho in this au. This is somewhat inspired by her anger at her dad, her canonical stated acts of rebellion, and how she arguably shouldfit in, but isn’t accepted. Like in the game, how she should arguably fit into Japan, because she was raised japanese, only speaks japanese, and I’m sure a few other things I’m missing, monsterverse!Lisa is a fox spirit like a kitsune, and is thusly expected to act like a kitsune by those around her and should fit in fairly well, but she still doesn’t quite succeed in that.

Jun Kurosu

Similar to Eikichi, Jun’s a hybrid. But, arguably just as weird of one. Because! In my AU, his father was a demon, because of the joker influence, and his mother was a royal fae, because Jun simply vibes to me like he’d be a fae of sorts in a monster au. This is also somewhat inspired by the idea of a nephilim. A cross between some holy-ish force, and something more humanoid.

Maya Amano

Maya is simply an angel. An angel of what? That’s kind of the joke with her, no one, not even the gods, remember to whom she’s actually assigned to work for. It’s also a bit of a dark joke, but still! In this AU, she’s sort of a catch-all angel that no one bothers to question. So, who’s her god? She doesn’t know, and neither do they.

Ulala Serizawa

To go with Maya being an angel, Ulala’s a demon. Specifically, she’s a demon of Gluttony. Inspired by her issues with, in a sense, her own gluttony and consumption issues. It’s actually pretty simple in that sense. She herself struggles with over-indulging, and her ‘other half’ of sorts is Maya, so! Demon to match the angel, and specifically a demon of gluttony.

Katsuya Suou

While Tatsuya is effectively just Human Premium, his brother wasn’t so lucky. Katsuya’s very much just a human man.

Baofu

In my take on this AU, Baofu isn’t anything super specific, he’s just an immortal. He was cursed by a witch back in the day, and goes on to live Baofu’s regular life as best he can with some added angst and a lot more time to study and learn about things like the gods, demons, and other monsters. Real simple, real angsty, lotsa fun all around.

I only do OCxOC, but the plot itself can be in a canon setting. FxM is what I do best. FxF can be requested by writing partners I vibe with. I don't do MxM.

My plots tend to be very smut heavy and can also include darker themes such as kidnapping/trafficking, drug abuse, dubcon/(consensual) noncon, psychological manipulation, as well as ride or die ships.

I love traumatic backgrounds and questionable coping mechanisms, but l'm also a sucker for romance, so even darker themed plots will have that aspect to them. Just give me muses obsessed with each other 🖤

So I've been hyperfixating on a Vocaloid Monster AU lately.

It started with me wanting to expand on the WOEFULLY underutilized concept of the PowerFX Vocaloids being "Classic Monsters" and just kind of... spiraled out of control from there. Now I have a LOT of ideas for Vocaloids, UTAUs and other vocal synthesizer characters as monsters for this AU.

So, specifically:

PowerFX:

Sweet Ann and Big Al = Frankenstein's Monsters (canon, more or less)

Oliver = Werewolf (I was inspired by this headcanon I found over at the old Vocaloid Headcanons blog and it hasn't left my brain since)

Yohioloid = Vampire (just LOOK at him!)

Ruby = Witch (I decided to round out the "classic" Halloween-style monsters with the only one that seems to be consistently female in these situations; after thinking about it though, it still fit, especially with the little star pattern in her jacket)

The ZOLA Project (based on their Carnelian designs)

Kyo = Vampire (Carnelian!Kyo has bat wings and bat = vampire)

Wil = Zombie (I actually don't know if Carnelian!Wil is specifically supposed to be a zombie, but someone said he looked like one so I went along with it)

Yuu = Werewolf (the furry, animal-eared hat and tatters/tears on his outfit scream "werewolf")

Other Vocaloids:

Aoki and Merli Lapis = Faeries (canon, obviously)

Aurum = Ghost (their aesthetic is supposed to be "a 1930s radio producer", so I thought why not make them an ACTUAL 1930s radio producer who died and now haunts the abandoned radio tower they used to work at? And yes, I know Aurum isn't technically a Vocaloid/won't be one when they're released, but let's ignore that for now)

Avanna = Witch (she gives off "magic user" vibes to me)

Daina = Kitsune (because foxes)

Dex = Werewolf (because wolves and also his voice provider made an entire song about him being a werewolf so canon)

Fukase = Demon (mostly just vibes in this case)

LUMi = Mermaid (because she's part jellyfish)

Luo Tianyi = Angel (canon)

Mayu = Vampire (it's in her aesthetic; I like to think she tries to bite people she's in love with so they'll never leave her)

Meika Hime and Mikoto = Forest Spirits (canon)

UTAUs:

Chikune Kenta = Vampire (canon, obviously)

KYE (Fuyuki Kaisei) = Dragon (he likes reptiles and also dragons are cool)

Kasane Teto = Human/Demon Hybrid (hence, "Chimera")

Kurobousuku = Werewolf (his name is literally "black wolf")

Namine Ritsu = Witch (another one based on vibes; also it would be funny for one of the few male witches in the story to also be a crossdresser)

Scott-129 = Alien (sort of canon)

Sekka Yufu = Yuki-onna (she's speculated already to be a "snow spirit" and a Yuki-onna seemed to be the most fitting choice for her)

Yuutsukoe Karasu (Kellyn Werner) = Tengu (sort of canon)

I want to do something with this idea, and I have some plot bunnies floating around in my head, but I'm not certain if I'll get around to it.

And also imagine her being able to see human souls, angels, demons and other creatures true forms, and when Casifer happens in that phase while he still trying to pretend be just Castiel and fool the boys, sister Winchester is the first to notice something is wrong but it's difficult because she is still learning and the archangel had a lot of control over his powers and experiences, when she finally understand it's Lucifer on control and not Cas she warns Sam and then the archangel is like: took you long enough, but you finally realized little cousin and tries to kill her, but Cas takes control over the vessel making him stop.

I don’t, I’m still not finished vampire diaries.

But this does seem really cool!

-I think she’d beat herself up over not seeing Lucifer sooner, but when Cas gets his body back in control he tells her that it wasn’t her fault, and that no one saw it coming

I recently found out that FakirxAhiru is supposedly not "canon" because they didn't end with a confession of love or a kiss, and many consider their relationship just friendship or even brother and sister, which surprised me a lot… Since to me it was so OBVIOUSLY canon, every action and interaction between them was sweet and romantic <3, that just because it's not "specified" isn't considered "canon" anymore, it looks silly. I mean, do fans really think that Ahiru admitting that she wasn't in love with Mitho while she kept having moments with Fakir was it a fluke by the creators? And the "I'll always be with you no matter what happens"?? THAT'S A MARRIAGE PROPOSAL NO WAY YOU SEE IT

(Sorry if I sound aggressive, it's just that they frustrate me)

I mean, I'm super in favor of giving importance to platonic relationships of just friendship, but I didn't get that impression with Fakir and Ahiru<3 (And least siblings lol). I also saw a video of a girl who ship Rue with Ahiru, which is not bad, but ironically I did see those two only as friends (Or just rivals from the few interactions they had in the anime), as LGBT person I love LGBT relationships, but I like that they make more sense and that they don't just ship characters because they look cute together (But yes, my headcanon is that Ahiru is bisexual XD (And maybe Fakir too, all those scenes between him and Mitho they are very queerbaiting LOL))

Ironically, I like Mitho, but it is true that it is very poorly written or could have been developed better, over the years I have seen a huge number of "unemotional" characters that manage to show individual characteristics or make you understand why others characters would give so much for them, but Mitho is simple and purely flat lol, although I have grown fond of how easily he gets into fights when everything is avoided if he listened to Fakir to stay in his room LMAO

Technically fakiru is not canon as their love is not confirmed. But it's heavily implied so you could call it semi-canon. If the supposed 3rd season happened, I'm positive they would had ended up together. People see things differently. I think Ahiru and Mytho have sibling-vibes more than romance-vibes.

Most ships are fan made and not canon. Fans want something to happen, so they see ”evidence” of that in everywhere (even when it's not there).

I don't concider Fakir's words as a marriage proposal. Like neko-sensei, he could had just said will you marry me if he wanted to propose. Given their age and friend zone status, it sounds out of place too. I see it more as a promise to not leave Ahirur alone even if she's a duck: she doesn't need to stay as a human for him to care for her. Ahiru is afraid of abandoment because ”she's just a duck” no one would pay attention to.

In anime, bestiality is highly controversial. We see all kinds of romantic matches in media, including vampires, werevolves, demons, youkai, mazoku, devils, angels, zombies, spirits, deities, dead people, witches, wizards, people who turn into animals or other forms, monsters, aliens and so on. That's just the way it is. If someone wants to complain about the ”unrealistics” don't pay attention to them. There's no point in arguing with someone whose mind is set to reasoning fiction with the laws of nature.

I'm not into LGBT stuff and sometimes I'm confused why people go back to old series and start giving sexual orientations to the characters. I don't see sexuality as a topic you need to bring up so much. Everyone can love each other, but most of the time gay ships are just fantasies made up by the fans and queerbaites are exactly that; baites to lure you think there's something when there really isn't. It's part of the fanservice, and if people find joy in it then why not.

Mytho can be sweet or annoying. He's the gary-stu and everything is resolved around him. But he's so plain and neutral you can't really hate him. When anyone of the cast starts to take distance to Mytho they actually become more interesting and individual. As the fullfledges prince he's much more interesting.
