thinking about archivists again. below the cut: obscene amounts of brainrot in the form of a long-winded relationship study and oddly specific references to canon that may or may not be accurate

im trying to come up with some sort of au for them (writer's block and creative burnout is a BITCH it's okay though we stay silly) and there's just something about how qphil and qcellbit don't (or didn't) really wind up in each other's circles often. sure they were friendly with each other in passing, and they definitely had some nice little interactions earlier on: cellbit briefly interviewing phil on one of his first days on the island over a cup of coffee and solidifying phil's view of cellbit as the Dedicated Investigator; phil asking cellbit to babysit chayanne and tallulah while he's away on a trip and cellbit being more than happy to; phil briefly checking in with cellbit --- who was in the process of tumbling into his regret arc, cutting off ties with loved ones and making himself a martyr --- and asking if he was okay when phil spotted him hanging alone in the back of the group; chatting about the upcoming wedding and phil advising cellbit that he and roier should probably introduce some sort of dress code (lmao); cellbit watching phil and missa meet up for the first time in months on the way to the federation's people-freezers and all of the pieces rapidly falling into place (the name of phil's waystone, phil's skull backpack, phil's elusive "husband," ohhhhhhh...). they've always been in each other's peripheral, but never directly involved in each other's personal lives.

until the happy pills.

see the thing about archivists is that they're not drawn together by a pre-existing friendship; they're more friendly acquaintances at this point, perhaps almost-friends, though they're certainly not close. but then forever's life is under threat, and god, they both love forever immensely. with direct help from bad and indirect help from others (qpac you LEGEND), they're eventually able to formulate a plan that successfully drag forever out from under the haze of drugs, pull him to the surface. they sit next to each other as they sit at the bedside of their mutual friend, watch him breathing, and try to breathe themselves.

and from that moment on it's solidified: they know they can depend on each other, when shit hits the fan. they have their respective strengths, and they balance out each other nicely. i wish i had gotten more of a chance to watch their dynamic during purgatory 1 (unfortunately i have a life sadge) but from what i saw, they turned out to be some pretty good co-leaders, and an interesting dynamic at that: phil acting more as a support role (moral support, resource support, combat support, ALL the support) and stepping up into a leader-like role when needed, but ultimately letting cellbit take the helm a lot of the time since he's a strategist with more practice managing large groups of people (i wont get into it here, and i want to watch more vods so i can more properly analyze them but HOUGHH i have THOUGHTS!! SO MANY!!!)

what im trying to get at is that they were initially in the peripheral in each others lives but were eventually drawn together out of necessity, due to circumstances. the mutual respect followed, which was then followed by trust, and then collaboration, and then friendship. i've also made this post talking about their dynamic, how they both understand each other's need to focus on the here and now and understand that they don't need to know every little thing about each other to still trust each other. and this is so integral to their relationship. it's what makes archivists archivists.

so now all that's left for me to do is try to come up with some sort of au i can chuck them in, incorporating this idea of "friendship of necessity" as a core feature of the plot. i have scattered ideas but none are particularly appealing or solid enough. i will try though!! if u have any suggestions/thoughts/ideas feel free to leave a comment or say in tags (pspsppsps come brainrot with meeee)

What drew them to the Titans, exactly?

Collector hesitated, if only for a minute, while he debated on how to go about answering that. ❝ They're so cute and fun to play with! ❞ He retorted, far too quickly and with far too much fake gusto in his voice.

..No, that wasn't the whole truth, was it? Collector visibly deflated, their earlier glee replaced with something more... vulnerable, and honest. Did they want to be that sappy in front of Golden Guard? Philip never wanted to hear their pity parties, and they weren't so sure their new friend did either, but... then again, Philip never directly asked.

❝ And... they're kind, ❞ He began again, slowly and more deliberately, ❝ and accepting, and so so welcoming - they never judged me for being different than them, or told me they didn't care about my games, or pushed me away. ❞ He admitted, gaze pointedly averted. ❝ My siblings never wanted to play with me, or let me play with any of the mortals they discovered, ❞ Collector huffed, crossing his shadowy arms and trying to move on from his previous uncomfortable bout of honesty, ❝ so it was real nice to meet the Titans, and to have them be so nice and... stuff. ❞

As such, they were very grateful when the subject changed, and they let out a more characteristic giggle. ❝ Yeah, they don't hurt each other, at least not usually and never on purpose... when you say it like that, I guess what Titan babies do when they play is pretty similar to griffin babies. ❞ The visual made them glance off, slightly unfocused, trying to hold back more laughter as they mentally pictured a bunch of little tiny griffins just like the one Golden Guard had shown them last time, play wrestling all adorable-like the same way Collector's own beloved Titan friends did. Oh, another reason he must like griffins so much, if they did stuff like that too!

Collector nodded in confirmation, re-enacting the swaddling motion once more, ❝ They're teeny tiny, ❞ he "clarified", before resting his hands back on his cheeks, puffing them up as he continued to answer each of his friend's Titan-related questions. It made him think, a lot, on stuff he didn't even know he was aware of way back then. It was... nice, to have this type of friend again; one who was actively partaking in a discussion with him and not just... pushing aside Collector's own ideas and thoughts to interrogate him on something only they cared about.

Then, something strange happened. Golden Guard, who had seemed so engaged with Collector's informational splurge said something they didn't quite hear, and stopped, changed somehow... drew back? Their heart sunk as he sat, tightly curled up. Oh, no, were they boring him? They didn't mean to! They really thought he had been enjoying this, that he had liked learning stuff from them -

Then he apologized.

And Collector was left (metaphorically) scratching his head.

Man, every time they thought they were getting closer to understanding mortals and their behavior, something they weren't used to popped up and knocked them off their trail.

❝ It's okay. ❞ He said awkwardly, pausing, clearly out of his element here. It was always Marrow who was good with emotional stuff and making people feel good and accepted, not him. Hmm. What did he say in response to himself now? Something to reassure his friend further, right? Oh no, he was making this even more weird by taking so long to follow up. ❝ I like talking! ❞

Their expression shifted from that of uncertainty to barely holding back immense self-cringe. They couldn't believe they just said that. ❝ Uh, you know, if you like listening! ❞ They offered once more, seemingly blissfully unaware of the concept of putting one's foot in their own mouth. Golden Guard didn't seem mad, though, so they attempted to sit with the impending yelling tirade directed their way lull in conversation as best they could; clasping their hands together and staying quiet while observing what Golden Guard did next, which... seemed to be... drawing pictures?

It was a short while before their friend spoke again, and Collector was frankly shocked to not hear any annoyance or dismissal directed their way. This Grimwalker really was confusing. But... confusing as he was to them, he once again inquired something about the Titans with what they assumed was still genuine curiosity. ❝ ...they do. ❞ They answered quietly, perhaps quieter than they had ever spoken with Golden Guard before, ❝ ...I mean, they took me in as basically one of their own, so... adopting another Titan is, like, first nature to them. ❞

❝ I... actually, I have no idea. ❞ He replied next, wracking his memories for any potential talk of other extreme environments. ❝ They do fine in extreme cold, and extreme heat, and I think extreme weather too, so... maybe? ❞ He offered, shrugging. ❝ I'm pretty sure they can also live kinda in water - not all the time but a good chunk of the time, and can spend a while swimming in the Sparkling Sea before they have to head back to land. ❞

At Golden Guard's repetition of their previous words, alongside his small smile, they nodded and relaxed a bit more, this time slipping into a more comfortable conversational lull. Maybe... he really wasn't mad at them for talking so much after all.

"What drew you to the titans specifically?" There were so many different kinds of creatures out there, and titans were turning out to be quite amazing, but there was no interest in any of the others at all?

"Pretend sparring . . . ?" If sparring was pretend fighting, what was pretend sparring? He was about to ask what difference there was between sparring and practice (sparring was practice, right?) when they mentioned claws and biting, and something clicked. "Oh! Do you mean like, when baby griffins crawl over each other and pretend bite but it's gentle so they don't actually hurt each other?" He knew that behavior at least, though his teacher had only ever called it roughhousing.

He leaned forward again and continued writing down what the Collector said. "They're that small?" he asked with wide eyes. How incredible it was, for a creature to grow so much in size. "Does the parent ever have to worry about accidentally crushing their offspring? Or do they stop reproducing after they get to a certain size?"

They could already crawl upon hatching, though, and they still had horns and fangs, though they were only nubs. He attempted to draw out how he imagined a baby titan might look based off these descriptions.

Several questions rose up within him - How long did it take for the horns and fangs to grow? If they started out tiny but got huge, how quickly did they grow? How long did it take for a clutch to be able to forage on their own? - but when they tried to come out all at once and resulted in only a rushed splutter, he snapped his mouth shut, ears immediately dropping.

Valor drew his legs up to his chest and wrapped his arms around them, the pen held tight in both hands, linking them together. The questions overtaking each other made him realize just how much he was asking and-

"Sorry," he muttered, looking away. "I'll be quiet." He was sure if the Collector could touch things, he'd have already gotten a ruler snapped against the table to stop him. His beastkeeping teacher liked to do that a lot, to stop him from going off-topic. He never knew which questions were okay to ask and which ones weren't. And the expression of an annoyed, disapproving Belos was seared well into his mind, and he knew with him he wasn't supposed to ask any questions at all.

He was lucky he caught himself before the Collector got to that point.

He nodded quietly at the further information, writing it all down. That answered his question about accidentally crushing their offspring due to their size. They tended to stay away, and it was the smaller ones of previous clutches that did the incubating. Okay. And only 2-4 per clutch, unless lone eggs were found which were then adopted into the clutch.

He had to be careful here. It was a balancing act.

He was supposed to still ask questions if he had any, but not all at once.

One at a time.

"They had a strong sense of adoption, then?"

Lived in ice and snow. He shoved down his questions on thermoregulation, subspecies, and potential migration and instead asked the single, "Can they survive in all extreme environments, or just temperature extremes?"

The Collector's declaration did get Valor to smile a bit again, though, small as it was. "That's good." No little guys left behind.

Hugos design i just wanted to put him in something more Loose. hes a thief, a professional escape artist. i dont think wearing clunky metal is ideal for him. i also gave him a prosthetic arm (blond w no arm design trope!) but u cant see it in the ref so i added another drawing of him in his under layering👍 i vaguely referenced russian(?) clothes for him as well... yong came relatively easy to me, if it wasn't obvious i did rip gaming from g*nshin's hoodie. i thought the lion hood was Adorable and freaking perfect for what i had in mind for hos character. since the og notes said the fire kingdom is loosely Chinese inspired i basically just kept that. i mashed tgt a buncha diff dynasties though sorry for how inconsistent i was... i think he looks Okay. anyways i changed yongs role a bit, ill explain why im adjusting some of their roles later but i kept yong as the Jinx Type character. hes the eldest in his family and has a buncha younger siblings, hes a lion dancer and does performances w his family/siblings. he rly like special effects n keeps tryna incorporate his fireworks into their performances (it flops and he has to sew up the dmg) ill explain more of yongs role in another post maybe shrugs... miss nuru was a bit of a struggle for me i might share my full design process with her coz i did a Bunch of mockups for her😭😭😭... i didnt have a specific country of reference for her but i chose to make her vaguely south asian inspired. i also really wanted to keep the sheer fabric w the star / constellation map. i love that idea its so cute so shes still technically the navigator. but she also wields a sword too, fencing or whatever. (her and varian r Huge Cass fangirls which is probably why she started tryna use a sword (snuck out to watch cass compete) Okay ill talk abt this later) in my head, okay ill Probably make a whole nother post talking abt how im interpreting/writing each chara, but in my head i think nuru is the youngest and her kingdom's archivist. shes mostly in charge of like Her kingdoms history / artifacts / etc. ok im getting too side tracked ill save the lore dump for later but thats Nurus role in the party. uhm below i made their character stats mostly to help me with planning / role developing. the yellow is their base stats the color behind is their end stats i guess. i was gonna explain my reasoning for their stats but ermm this post is kinda Really long so sorry😭... varian max int for obvious reasons, also max charisma just coz i feel like u kinda learn a thing or two being around a couple manipulators and spending time in jail idk shrugs... (also lets not forget the "ud b surprised what ppl would do for a cookie!") Hugo slippery guy, if a brick is thrown at him as hes running hes gonna try n run faster to shatter it, his mindset is Run Run Run! i think hes relatively agile too but yeah mostly a Speedster. i think he n varian got no Physical strength varian maybe just like A little coz Farm boy but I rly doubt quirin is making him do a Lotta heavy lifting. yong has incredible stamina and agility because hed a performer. nuru is the strongest coz this team would literally Flop without a proper Offense😭... i think varian n hugo r able to outwit plenty of their opponents but i think nuru is pretty good in a fight, same w yong. I was going through a 2012 f1 blog's nico tag. it's actually pretty rare for early 2010s blogs to have comprehensive tagging systems so whenever I find one I try to go thru it all. and I come across this v cute nico image (cropped for posterity. payoff will be worth it promise)

here we have a picture, from 2012, and in classic 2012 fashion there is meme text on it. OP of the original pic deactivated. so I want to find the version without the meme text. pretty easy, just reverse google search right?

two years of a racing driver's pictures means thousands of pictures. okay. let's start from April 2012. unfortch for keen eyed listening, April 2012 was also the Chinese Grand Prix aka Nico's first f1 win.

why is that relevant? because it means every photographer and their MOTHER took a picture of nico for his first win. over 900+ images.

while I am exhibiting extremely unemployed levels of behavior here, I don't actually have the time and brain capacity to sift through 900 images.

one person's singular tag of 'bahrain 2012 lol' led me down this spiral, where if it wasn't for that bit of information this would be lost forever because finding the version of the pic without the meme text is otherwise near impossible. google reverse search is no help, and f1 drivers simply get photographed way too much. reblogs + tags with context literally are a holy grail. this is what I imagine archaeologists feel like. so if you ever want someone 12 years after you've posted something to go down finding out, tag your posts accordingly (assuming tumblr survives the next decade)

so why did I do it? why did I spend hours of my life on this? cause it's fun. it's like a mystery and it itches at my skin. many times I'm not successful which is why the times I am feels so rewarding because it feels almost like detective work, finding and refinding something, overturning evidence. and I have a brain that just functions Like This.

First, to get it out of the way: WHAT THE FUCK???? JONATHAN SIMS AND MARTIN BLACKWOOD?????

Secondly, i feel really bad for sam! His two romantic interests are clearly manipulating him, one wants him to drop his obsession "for his own good" while the other encourages it to get what she wants.

Alice got him this job either to get help solving the mysteries (unlikely imo, as from the start she doesn't care at all and knows that not caring is what kept her alive) or to rekindle what they had. My favourite theory is the latter, being stuck in a basement during the night with your ex might help to redevelop romantic interests. She got to be in a position of power over Sam (which she enjoys) by showing him how the oiar works and by being the source of confort or guidance when things get bad (plus they work at night, thus making him tired as his circadian rythm is completely screwed and on very horrifying topics, making him more likely to search for comfort and to make irrational decisions like going back to his ex).

Alice likes being in that position, as we saw with colin, her brother and teddy. She funds her brothers band, she goes to colin's flat to make sure he's alright and she pesters teddy until he accepts to go grab a drink, which (imo) he was reluctant to do. This way of functioning is not healthy, as she seems to think the only way she can get affection is by being a "paternalist / motherly" figure in her friends life. "If i do all of that for them theyll have no choice but to like me and to do what i say"

Its toxic, even if she probably genuinely wants to help, because her "help" is tool to mold her friends in what she wants them to be. For example: she goes to the magnus institute with sam (help) and when he doesnt find what hes looking for she tries really hard to get him to drop his obsession (control).

And his second romantic interest is celia, who is not from his universe and who has a plan that needs Sam's obsession. I stopped liking her when she started to explicitely compete with Alice. I dont remember which episode it was, but Sam invites Celia to go to the theater with him. She starts the interaction clearly not interested (saying "no i dont think i dropped tickets, theyre not mine", trying to gently reject him), then Alice, having overheard the conversation, invites them to go to her brothers concert the same night. After that, Celia seems to completely change her tune and accepts Sam's offer. That way, he doesnt go to the concert (distancing him from alice) and she has the audacity to ghost him.

Let's be cristal clear: both of them were trying to manipulated the poor guy and none were in the right. Alice tries to manipulate him to drop his obsession to get him out of harm's way (and into her her arms WINK WINK). But Celia is manipulating Sam through his feelings, which imo she doesn't reciprocate, to get him to do something that will probably hurt him and help her quest (whatever it might be). She's always pretty distant towards him, except when they start talking about the institute, then her attitude changes and shes pationate and almost flirty. The fond memory Sam has of their first date is due to them talking about work for gods sake! Other than in those occasions, she seems to me pretty cold and sarcastic when Sam is being goofy to make her like him.

So yeah, the poor beholder is stuck between two spiders.

Finally, poor Gwen! The second blorbo of the show after sam. However, i dont think Lena and the oiar are the equivalent of the institute. Sure, they both have a departement reading statements, but the oiar is proactive, sorting them and deploying externals or protocols to clean what groups seem to be too close to a ritual. The institute just reads them for the Beholder and (until gertrude) never did anything to prevent the rituals. I dont think Lena is trying to make Gwen into an "archivist", she just wants her to do her job and manage externals. She doesn't encourage any curiosity, just the processing and administrative work. And Gwen doesnt seem that aligned to the Beholder anyway, she wants to be the best at her job, and her job doesnt want her to be curious.

marius has very spiral vibes i think. hes just a silly guy ur honour i think he deserves it. i cant really think of any other one for him tbh

MAG200 SPOILERS / AU rambles

I can't sleep so I'm thinking of my dream where Jon was a uni professor & he retained all of his Archivist knowledge prior to getting transported to a new world. So yes he knows everything within the limits of that, but if there's any new discoveries he won't just Know them. He's just some regular guy now who just happens to posses an abnormal amount of knowledge.

Anyway this isn't about that. I was thinking that if he ever were to be in a dangerous situation in this new, mundane life, what if he tried to use his little "Ceaseless Watcher turn your gaze upon this wretched thing" sheme only to realise. Oh yeah. This is normal life again. He loses his wallet in the process maybe but they really did it, him and Martin are just two old men in love living and growing old together.

I dont know what came of the fears though! I don't know if they'd simply be suppressed like in the old world, and if they followed them through. But if I wanna think of angst I'm totally going with that. Jon still being the Ceaseless Watcher's special little guy. Maybe the fears are licking their wounds, maybe it's only a certain amount of time until they resurface.

Idk. I don't even know if any of this makes sense. I'm tired but not really. I'm going to bed. But I do wanna write a fic based off of all of this eventually if I've got the time and if I sculpt this out a little better.

Enjoyed ep 11 today although I got more of a mild sense of dread than being tense/ jumpy the whole time than usual with magnus

Some key points I noticed

Ink5oul is definitely back .Kinda reminds me of Jared Hopworth with the body stuff .Could they maybe not be as malevolent as they seemed ??

I think I ship Dyehard/Dyhard now ( I was previously undecided on ships except for knowing I didn't like Sam x Celia but that Mocha scene) Also it has a cool ship name

I have been looking out for static with lying but I didn't really hear much static personaly.

Who is jack? I've heard speculation about Jack Barnabus ( Agnes coffee shop guy) and I know I heard Jonny say in the season 5 Qand A that if he could redo magnus he would explore Agnes more.

Today's statement giver sounds like the vast or lonley on the surface with all the ocean stuff but I defiantly think it's something more ocean specific as vast statement givers usually talk about wide expanses or endlessness and stuff which this gut didn't and he didn't seem particularly withdrawn.I reckon the main guy was defiantly an avatar

Also I re listened to MAG 111 and noticed Gerry mentioning Gertrude hiding the key to her storage locker( where explosives were) in the institute could this be the key Sam and Alice found???

The statement this ep seems like an obvious metaphor for Jon as the guy ( can't remember his name G something but not Gerrad, maybe Gordon) wanted desperately to know what was in the sea so could link to Jon's Archivist stuff .Is it to obvious though??Not convinced it is JonMartin in the computer but I really hope it is as Jon/Chesters statements seem to be all about hunting down too much knowledge / becoming a monster and all Martin/Noris's statements seem to be about love and loss.Could be some fragmented web stuff though.

I've got nothing to post right now so have my oc, hes part of a subdivision of smaller iterators (in the sense of robot-like creatures) able to think of themselves (but are mobile) aka Operators :D

more rambling about Operators below :)

Operators serve as a way to persue small tasks between closeby groups, created during gen 2 of Iterators they serve as a ''fix it all'' having a set manual encoded in them which provides them with the necessary tools to fend for themselves and geolocate closeby structures which provide energy.

Being off the strings for them it means that they function off few neurons which they carry inside their body (which keeps them alive and stores some necessary stuff + recently given commands + records important events during their travels from one facility to the other). They recharge via a chargeble battery installed in their system by connecting it to anything remotely mechanical, such as shelters, karma gates (which they are able to access unless theyre karmically imbalanced or arent given permission to), communication stations/arrays and so on.

They do not have a great memory, they work on a limited one when off-field and when they reach the closest iterator they will connect to their structure, offering a scan of their can and offering to solve any issues they are able to fix within it, but most important they will empty their memory (think of outside storage) in order to recieve a new command/order/task. Their main purpose is to serve under the rules of the ancients and help with upkeeping iterator groups local to them or following their orders which may change from anything such as pearl collection, transferring data, rearranging faulty memory conflux structures, eliminate any threatening bodies to their host iterator can and so on!

[cough, if they find mobile rot even if their host iterator tells them not to kill it they will go on the violent route to eliminate the rot or mold]

Greatly respectful of ancients and senior iterators they will greatly follow orders given by seniors and other iterators, doing small tasks for them and serving low range messenger/support friend if you will. They are shorter than most iterators (with my guy being shorter than five pebbles) but more resistant and resilient than the mid iterator puppet plus a lot stronger!

Usually theres anywhere between none to five in groups, depending on their size and how old they are.

IDK they have some sort of weapon which they probably either carry around or its part of their design, mine has claws.

Their main rules are:

-follow iterator wishes

-ensue their safety

-dont mess with the enviroment (less prone to violence towards organic creatures)

ABOUT MY OC TE HEE

Ordinary Maintenances is under Chronicler of Methologies (an archivist iterator which belongs to @nemofil and they work under pearl collection duty most of the time, why most of the time?

Scavengers think of Ordinary Maintenance as a very very shiny object, so they trade him around until he menages to actually get up and leave their premises which is sadly not that successful. Seeing as Chronicler is quite a pacifist and feel bad about Scavenger he will often do nothing (not as he can do it) about it, leaving often time OM being traded around for shiny stuff.

Im not sure how i wanna kill them off but oh well, hes quite the resistant one, surviving through an iterator attacking them, being a chewtoy sometimes on sundays, and witnessing some pretty violent scav conflicts hes quite the silliest :)

Look this podcast makes me feel happiness and sadness and anger at the same bloody time, but it's all confused because it's overridden by being Very ADHD about it, so like, they're all rattling around in there. How dare he sit there talking about choice, how dare he feel all guilty for ruining her life, how dare he! He doesn't deserve to feel bad about it. Christ, Jon, what the fuck.

But I feel like I’m seeing him when I’m awake as well. I’ve been… I’ve been having a lot of problems since he talked to me. Since I talked to him. Since I told my... story. The, the claustrophobia, it’s back, worse than it ever was and I can’t do my job. I have these, these screaming panic attacks every time I try and— What am I supposed to do? Like, feels like, like every time I’m even slightly underground I— Can’t even go into a shop basement more without feeling that… (sniffs) hand. Every time I do, every time I get that panic just rising up my throat, I see him. He’s there. Not when I look properly, but just at the edge. The corner of my eye. Then he’s gone.

No, but I have a lot of feelings on becoming a fear entity Avatar and the cycle of violence. Of how Avatars often only became Avatars because of previous trauma, because they had no other options. Of how they often don't see themselves as victims, for example Annabelle Cane describing herself as manipulative, even as she was a child trying to cope in an abusive household. And I think that Jon being like Jane Prentiss, following his victims like her, starting to understand her... that ties into those themes. I love this podcast <3.

MARTIN No, no, it’s— Thank you. I just— [Agitated clatter] For god’s sake, can he not just stay safe for like, like ten minutes?! DAISY I don’t think that’s an option for him anymore. MARTIN Yeah, I mean, sure. But he just… he doesn’t think! He always just immediately charges straight off into danger with whatever, whatever half-arsed plan occurs to him at the time! Like! Aa! Thank you. Don't really have much to add, I mean I said a bunch in other episodes rambles, specifically the MAG 131, 132, and 136 ones.

I mean you know, the whole spider thing, a bit of his self-blame about... the end of season 4... could come from... if he's not to blame, then he didn't have any control, then all of this was out of his control. If he couldn't stop it, if Jimmy Magma's plan was that good then... well, then he was helpless, and there's nothing worse than being helpless.

in conclusion, disregard the above Jon did nothing wrong- no, he's... he doesn't get to be forgiven by Jess, by Floyd, by the others, not unless they choose to forgive him. But he can work on doing better, you know? He's allowed to not wallow in guilt the whole time, he's not irredeemable, he just did bad things -- bad things he can't fix -- but he can work on never doing those bad things again, on mitigating the damage as much as he can. He's not a bad person, just a person who did bad things.

I dunno, I'm more interested in the metaphysics side of philosophy. You know there's a branch of philosophy called metametaphysics? I think it's so funny.
