"Something's Gotta Give"

SELFSHIP SHORT STORY THING!

Prepare for some cringe writin about my sona with a fictional president. What an interestin sentence... Anyway, as usual, this is gonna be rather self-indulgent and a little sad. Hold onto your bootstraps, bucko!

Staring at an endless wall of large screens, that of which adorned the surrounding and otherwise dark area with a warm glow of yellow light, stood the robot who monitored it all. It stood before the screens, watching them and the flashing clips of different codes and notifications. But one notification caught his attention. The sound was different from the rest. Special, as he saw it.

Bringing the notification into its processor, it internally looked it over through his systems. It was a simple message. But the moment he read it, he closed it and flicked it back to the screens in a flash of electricity. He was needed somewhere else. Out of his own dimension, as per usual. But at least this time, it was a dimension he enjoyed. All because of a certain person who resided there.

The cervine robot snapped its hoofed fingers and projected a different, more professional outfit onto himself. It certainly wasn't a date or anything, but he wanted to look good and fit in with the times in which that dimension was set currently. He didn't bother putting on a humanoid illusion yet, seeing as he was only going to be seeing one person who had already seen his physical form.

Once he assessed his appearance and considered it good enough, he waved a hand and brought up a command box. Pushed a few buttons and took one more glance at the timeline moderation screen before activating the transfer.

It was quick. Quick and simple as if just connecting to the WiFi or booting up a program on a computer. Just a quick flash, and suddenly, the robot's surroundings had changed. It was standing in an office. One it had found itself in plenty of times before. And there across the room, sitting in a chair at a large desk, was the man he had gotten the notification from.

"You called, sir?" The robot's voice rang out as he stepped across the room over to the man hunched over his desk and fidgeting with his arm. He lifted his phone head to meet the robot's gaze and seemed to perk up a bit. At least, his cord tail did as it lifted and swayed calmly. "As punctual as ever, eh, fawn? And for the record, there's no need to be so formal. We're a little past the whole 'Sir' thing, don't you think?"

The deer faltered for a moment as he heard an amused chuckle leave the phone head's receiver. Watching him push out from behind the desk and walk around to the other side where it was standing. Those metal footsteps clanking against the floor up to him. "Right... Sorry, Cal. It's a habit I still gotta kick. Anyway, you needed somethin'? I got things to manage too, ya know. So I can't stay for long. Not to mention the damage I'm doin' to this dimension just by bein' here..."

"Yes, yes, I'm well aware of your impressive and oh so important business that you need to get back to. But is it so bad that I just wanted a moment of your time?" The taller of the two replied with a dramatic sigh, holding a slight teasing hint to his tone as he lifted a hand to take hold of the other man's. His fingertips traced along the deer's cloven fingers and up past his knuckles. Finding its place intertwined with the other's. To which the eyes displayed on its screen rolled at the phone head's tone.

"...No, I... I suppose it ain't that bad. It's just- well- I've already explained everythin' to you before. If I stay here for too long, I could warp your timeline and ruin ev-" It was cut off by the president raising his metal hand to stop him from going on any further. "I know, calm down. All I'm asking is that you take a break from your job and join me for a moment. You won't destroy an entire dimension just by talking with me. Nobody knows you're here except me, so you don't gotta worry your fuzzy little head about it. Get me?"

Hearing it be explained so calmly, as if it wasn't a big deal, sort of soothed the robot's systems a bit. Just enough for him to relax his previously tense shoulders and give a quick nod of understanding.

"Alright, alright. I get it. I'm just worried, is all. What if someone does see me? I mean, I could always deploy a hologram to make myself look human, but -" Again, he was shushed by Callum. This time, by a hand covering his mouth. He didn't even realize he was starting to ramble about his worries until Callum had to quiet him a second time. Giving an apologetic look, he muttered a muffled "Sorry..." against Callum's hand before it was pulled away from his face, and instead, it grabbed his shoulder.

"I made sure to lock the door before I even called you, so there's no risk of anyone seeing you. You don't need to put on some fake face around me. I've got everything covered already. Just listen to me and relax, won't you?"

Giving a nod, the deer lifted his ears and stood up a little straighter, signifying he was ready to listen as asked. After all, that's partly what it was programed to do.

Seeing the change, Callum gave a hum of approval and patted the robot's shoulder. "There we are. That wasn't so hard, was it? Now, c'mere, I've got something I wanna show you. I think you'll like it."

Still holding his shoulder, Callum guided his companion over to the other side of the desk and sat down in his chair. Pulling the deer down to sit on his lap. Which earned a little yelp of surprise from the cervine, as he expected.

Callum didn't wait for the other to regain his bearings before rummaging through the desk drawers and pulling out a file, and sliding a few papers out from it. "This is what I've been working on. Ya see, I've got a speech planned a couple weeks to a month from now, and I wanna know what you think of the script I wrote! Proofread it for me, if you'd kindly..."

Handing the papers to the robot, Callum rested the bottom of his phone head on the deer's shoulder and read the pages with him. But it didn't need to read the papers to know what was on them. He'd seen this all before on the screens back in the server room.

As baffling as having all of this shoved in his face was, he was snapped out of his stupor when he saw the script.

With a grimace, he pretended to read the papers and gave a little nod of acceptance. "This is very well written. Though, you should add a comma here so it doesn't turn into a run-on sentence." He said as he pointed to a spot on the page. Trying to focus on anything other than the actual writing and what it all meant.

Leaning in, Callum seemed to be squinting at the page. Looking at the small mistake with a little surprise. He gave a small hum of consideration before chuckling in amusement.

"Hah, see, this is why I like to have you around! You can point out all the little mistakes and mix-ups that I can't! You're an observant little bugger, huh fawn?" A smile could be heard in the president's tone despite not having a mouth to smile with. He wrapped an arm around the deer's shoulder and held him a little closer as some sort of appreciative hug.

Despite wanting to melt into Callum's embrace, the deer was visibly tense, and he held a small frown on his face as he stared at the pages in his hooves. Normally, he would've just ignored them and reciprocated the affection. But he just couldn't this time. Not when the future was catching up to him so fast. That script in his hands was proof of that much.

"Yeah... It's what I was programmed for..." The robot mumbled, still not tearing his gaze from the script. Which Callum picked up on the moment he heard the dejected tone.

"Oh, c'mon, I didn't mean it like that. You know what I meant. Just- Listen, you're more than just my editor or assistant. You know that." Callum tried to reassure, which only came off as if he was annoyed that his companion didn't understand what he meant. Whether Callum was annoyed or not was the least of the deer's problems, though.

Staying silent, he tried to come up with a response that wasn't something that could destroy the timeline. The only thing he could come up with was a little mutter. "Well, it's... This is a very good script, Cal. I'm sure the people will love it. You'll change lives with this speech. I just know it."

Despite the praise, he sounded upset and visibly full of dread. For good reason, of course, but Callum would never know that. The president took the upset tone as disapproval and sighed. Before he could explain his reasoning, the robot set the pages down on the desk and pushed itself up to stand. Pushing the president's hands off and stepping away as Callum sat up in surprise.

"Listen, Cal... You know you always amaze me with all your ideas. But, I just got a notification that I'm needed elsewhere, so I'll have to cut this short." The robot explained as its voice wavered with emotion threatening to break through. "I'm sorry, I really am. We'll talk later. Just-... I know you think you've got things good now. But something's gotta give eventually. Please, stay safe. I'll see you next week... I lo-"

Nearly halfway out of his seat and still reaching out, Callum tried to grab the deer by the wrist. But it was gone in a flash of electricity before it could even finish its sentence. Callum didn't get the chance to tell it to wait or stay. He was frozen in place for a moment until a sigh escaped him, and he slumped back into the cushioned seat. Running a hand down his metal face in disappointment.

Callum wasn't the only one sulking in his own disappointment, however. As soon as the cervine robot had gotten back to the server room, it turned the hologram off and started pacing.

Running scenario after scenario through its systems for any possible outcome where things would turn out alright. But nothing seemed to work. And that started to frustrate and overwhelm it. Everything eventually melded together, and all he could think of was Callum himself. The moments he'd miss all because he couldn't interfere with the timeline.

Feeling the frustration bubbling up in his chest got to an unbearable degree. So much so that he quit pacing and instead stopped in his tracks. Reeling back and thrusting his fist into the screen before him with a shout. The yellow glow flickering as the impacted area grew cracks in the glass accompanied by dead pixels.

He only spared a glance up at the damaged area to see the timeline laid out on the screen. Each important event marked along the vast line stretched out seemingly endlessly. A certain date now blacked out by his fist and dead pixels. The main event he'd been dreading ever since he first spoke to the man he'd somehow fallen so hard for.

The screen itself was an easy fix. A whole timeline was another story entirely. It was something he couldn't afford to interfere with. While the dreaded event would take the Callum he knew away from him, interfering could take Callum from him entirely. He refused to allow that to happen.

Removing his hand from the cracked screen, he lifted it and started repairing it with the All-Use Solver, threading the pieces back in place with a sigh as he walked away.

So much left unsaid. So much left undone.

The Nobleman or 양반 (yangban): The smiling face represents the bluff and composure that an aristocrat is often known to have. The chin is a separate piece from the top of the mask, and the actors can lean forward and back to make the mask smile or frown as needed.

This monk who abandons his doctrines, or 취발이 (chwibari): Chwibari was originally a monk, but he had no intention of joining the monastic order, so he came down to the world and wanders. Represented with a forehead full of wrinkles and spots.

The widow or, 부네 (Punae/bune): represented to be a widow, or a kisaeng ( a woman who sang, danced, or played an instrument to provide entertainment for company at a drinking party), or a mistress of the Yangban. She has a very small mouth, round cheeks and forehead- giving a general look of happiness good-humor.

the closer we get to arcanes finale the more worried i am bc so often .. if not always .. things i like end in a way that i dislike so much it ruins everything else for me

Honestly the best way I can describe the 2nd season of Arcane is written by extremely competend writers who bit off way more than they could chew. Especially in that short of a timeframe.

It's possible that it was a higher up decision for future League shows, but the focus on the Black Rose & magic worldbuilding took away focus from the core cast and the narrative of 2 cities/sisters opposed to one another. They desperately needed at least 3 more episodes

The writers are competent, but they made some deliberate choices I don't like and pulled focus from things I believe they should've left in focus. It feels like the entire narrative of the show got changed between seasons, and maybe it was always the intention and I should rewatch the entire show front-to-back without a massive hiatus in-between them for me to get it, but from my current standing... It could've been more, and the things that they did focus on and give time to were really good. It's just that the show lost its priorities and primary narrative along the way

There is currently a rather large discussion ongoing about the RW fandom behavior, drama, etc. I am not going to talk about the specifics of whats happened for a number of reasons. But what I do want to say is that if at any point you've harassed people over it, whether that be through anon asks or public posts- you did nothing but damage the ability for people to correctly process what is happening. You contributed nothing but harm to an already delicate situation. It does not matter what "side" you were on and I will not tolerate further interaction with me or my work if I found out you did such. If you let your personal hate for anyone boil over into threats, wishes for long term harm and petty comments meant to contribute nothing but slander or mental distress for the individuals involved who were already distressed (or acting irrationally) you did nothing but make it harder for people to process their emotions, thoughts and behaviors constructively. Regardless of who you think was in the right, who fucked up, whatever. It doesn't matter if they deserved it, or earned it, or if its an eye for an eye. Its difficult enough as it is to think clearly when presented with any kind of stressful situation and heckling people does nothing but make it worse and harder for them to explain themself in any capacity. I don't want you anywhere near me if you think that is an acceptable way to act.

I loved mouthwashing but my boyfriend was right when they told me to not look at anybody's opinions on it because no one in the fandom could read basic spoonfed themes before they decided to play a very layered, abstract, symbolically-driven psychological horror with unreliable narrators

Can we talk about how Jonathan might've been able to clock Mike simply because of what happened with him and Nancy in season two?

This will be a long post, so you might want to strap in or save it for later.

In Will and Mike's case, it would obviously be much different from Jonathan and Nancy's situation, given that you know, they're gay. But we still have Jonathan arguably going through a similar experience as Will, while Mike is going through a similar experience as Nancy.

In s2, we see Nancy confront Jonathan about how she waited for him before getting back with Steve, which is a revelation to him. Then they're at Murray's and she's struggling to say she loves Steve, after a handful of moments between them that felt like she might return Jonathan’s feelings. And you can clearly see it in his eyes, listening to Murray imply that they have feelings for each other, with him looking back and forth sort of in awe of what's happening, like he's starting to question if she might actually like him back.

Will doesn't have that same affordance as Jonathan to really hope, at least not anymore. Which is why these relationships in s2 and s4 end differently for these two brothers.

Based on all the signs he was seeing that Nancy felt the same, Jonathan decided to take the plunge to admit to Nancy how he felt, and at that same moment Nancy had the courage to show how she felt. In Will and Mike's case, Will wasn't ready to take the plunge to admit to Mike how he felt, at the same moment Mike didn't have the courage to show how he felt.

What's so painfully hilarious to me about all of this though, is that Jonathan arguably starts the season in the same shoes as most of the audience, where from his perspective, it's becoming obvious to him now that Will like's Mike, but that Mike does not feel the same way.

First at Rink-O-Mania, Mike appears a little uncomfortable upon hugging Will. Then as the happy couple continues on their adventure into Rink-O-Mania, he watches Will lagging behind moping. And then unfortunately he's out of commission for the rest of the evening...

But once he's sober and back to being an attentive brother the following morning, we see him watching them at breakfast, with Mike barely sparing Will a glance, all while Will is blatantly staring, almost like he's waiting for Mike to look back, only for Mike to get up and walk away.

All of these instances gotta be SCREAMING unrequited gay love to Jonathan. He's already gotten signs for years that Will is gay, these are now just the signs that are instilling his suspicions that Will has feelings for Mike. He could have easily interpreted their relationship in the early seasons as young best friends, with Will seeming to have a crush on Mike, and with them growing up and that potentially including Will's straight friend distancing himself from him because he doesn't feel the same. It's not the most unexpected thing in the world considering.

But then there's a shift.

Suddenly he's creeping up on them talking in his room. And we know he was listening in on the conversation because he brings up Owens when he sits down. As he's eavesdropping, he's probably thinking something innocent like Aww they're making up! And like, hey! Even if Mike doesn't feel the same, which is okay and entirely expected honestly, at least he still cares about Will enough to make things right after acting so out of character. Still, I'm not gonna lie, that sounded a lot like flirting to me--

Then he's knocking on Will's door like 30 minutes or less later only to find Mike and Will back on their bullshit. Mike suddenly isn't going out of his way to ignore or put Will on the back burner. In fact, he's on his bed and they're talking, again! The door is even closed this time, which is interesting. This has gotta be a good sign in Jon's eyes. Nothing to worry about! Right? Right...?

But then suddenly this shift continues, going in a direction he probably didn't expect.

I mean, this is literally an identical jancy parallel we have here with byler on the hood of the car, with Jonathan right there to witness it. Despite him maybe only now subconsciously picking up on the similarities between Will and Mike to him and Nancy here, he's at least taking note (I mean he's even got his gay map out and everything).

It isn't until the van scene happens, that I think Jonathan starts to genuinely consider his suspicions, which is that Mike might actually like Will back.

EVERY time we get a shot of Jonathan looking back at Will and Mike in the van, followed by a shot of his POV from the rearview mirror, we're faced with Mike looking at Will while Will is looking away.

As Jonathan is hearing Will confirm his suspicions about his feelings for Mike, he's simultaneously witnessing Mike not looking at Will with disgust, but something more akin to reverence. All of those moments in the van that we witnessed, including all the ways Mike looked at Will and everything that was said, Jonathan was right there.

And what's even more insane about this scene, is that it circles back to Jonathan as a character himself.

I remember when people were talking about how odd it was that we never saw Jonathan with a camera in s4. After 3 seasons in a row of making his passion for photography a big part of his identity, that part of him was apparently absent entirely this time around... But was it really?

This is the same guy that said, "Sometimes, people don't really say what they're really thinking. But you capture the right moment, it says more."

Jonathan might not have had his camera in s4, but this was without a doubt one of those moments where he captured something more.

Something that I also think get's highly overlooked about this scene, especially when it comes to Jonathan looking back at them, being followed by a shot of Mike staring at Will, is that he could see both of their reactions the whole time, from beginning to end. Will nor the audience had the affordance of knowing because Will was facing the other way at the end, while we on the other-hand were blurred from even having the chance, despite Mike literally being in the frame. But not Jonathan. He even lets us see what he sees, a few times, but not at the very end, which would have been nice after they didn't let us see Mike's reaction seconds before this.

Let's just stop right there for a second though and circle back to what I consider to be the first time Jonathan really picked up on Will's feelings for Mike, which was at the end of s3, in a sequence that is a little too relevant to the van scene if you ask me, given that they are almost direct parallels.

While these parallels are pretty spot on visually, they are also near spot on narratively when it comes to the evolution each of these characters are experiencing.

For Will in the first scene, it's sadness that he's moving away from his friends in Hawkins and also feeling like he's losing Mike, after what looks like him and El making up, which makes him scared he'll distance himself again. For Jonathan, it's sympathy for his brother who appears to have some very deep feelings for his friend, feelings he can't quite grasp yet but soon enough will.

For Will in the second scene, it's heartbreak that he has to accept that Mike will never feel the same, knowing that supporting his relationship with El (encouraging it honestly) will likely turn out just as it did last time, with him losing Mike all over again, for the last time. For Jonathan it's sympathy for his brother who has now confirmed his suspicions that the feelings he has for Mike are more than just that of a friend.

Given that this parallel reinforces the same feelings Will and Jonathan had in s3 to now, why would this not also reinforce those same feelings that Mike had in s3 to now?

In the first scene, Mike was visibly distraught, with dialogue from Hopper in the background applying a little too perfectly with what he was feeling in that moment, which was scared. He’s apparently back together with El now, despite them doing just fine as friends for the last 3 months, as well as him and Will just having finally gone back to them being on good terms again. But now, it’s like he’s right back where he started at the beginning of s3, feeling obligated to be the perfect boyfriend to El, and as a result, having no choice in his eyes but to distance himself from Will. Mike then walks into his house looking like a zombie, almost emotionless stepping into his mother's embrace.

Now, I say almost emotionless because it looks like Mike was trying to hold back showing how he truly felt in this moment. He's not crying like he did in s1 when he lost Will that first time. Time has passed and things have changed (he doesn't want things to change). And he's trying his best to keep it together. But the in-focus close-ups make it clear that he is definitely not okay.

What's so impactful about these parallels is that it presents the inner struggle both of these characters are having, both queer and experiencing doubts, but in different ways and for different reasons.

Will is the one who covers it all up with lies, hiding the tears in his eyes, because boys don't cry.

Mike is the one who has never cried to them, just to his soul (RUN AWAY! TURN AWAY! RUN AWAY! TURN AWAY! RUN AWAY!!!).

If you actually try to get a gage on Mike's in-focus emotions in that first scene vs. his out-of-focus emotions in that second scene, well they're not that far off from each other.

We go from Mike smiling vibrantly at Will, to him now slowly turning away to look back down at the painting, with whatever the hell emotion this is...

It's near impossible to catch because of how out-of-focus it is, but looking a lot closer, it honestly appears like Mike is feeling something akin to sadness that he's trying to mask. For a moment it even looks like he turns his head to wince emotionally, only to correct himself.

And call me crazy, but these shots also low-key parallel each other. Mike looking down trying to keep his emotions in check and failing miserably, only to look up and meet eyes with someone whose witnessing it.

With each shot before this of Jonathan observing Mike looking at Will, with him showing all the emotions Will never got to see and everything else in between, I wonder what Jon saw this time? Probably another thing he didn't expect.

Can you just try to imagine the silence in this van, accompanied by Will's muffled sobs, and then try to imagine Mike turning to look down at the painting, only to sneak a glance, and then go right back to looking at the painting, IN SILENCE, and then try to tell me how the assumption that Mike didn’t notice Will crying makes any sense, like realistically?

Yeah me and Jonathan are confused too.

Right now, Jonathan's probably wondering why Mike was acting a little fruity and repressed during the painting reveal. And that although he may have a penchant for being able to 'capture the right moment', Mike is sticking with his story (despite all the stalling and doubt). He is 100% straight!

And so maybe this is where Jonathan tries to accept what is being presented to him as the truth, despite the contradictions in front of him. It's likely that despite the way Mike looks at Will and acts around him, in ways he would have assumed coming from Nancy in s2 would've been evidence that she felt the same, it probably doesn't apply to Mike.

Maybe Jonathan's ready to accept that it's a lot more likely Will is experiencing unrequited love as a gay kid growing up in a small town, the most predictable experience a gay kid could go through, and in contrast Mike just feels too bad to let Will down easy.

Or who knows, maybe Mike could still be a little bit gay too...

But it doesn't matter anyways. Mike seems to be adamant about this and so there's really nothing else Jonathan can he do besides tell his brother he'll be there for him no matter what. And so he does just that.

But then Mike just has to surprise him one last time.

For those that don't know, the line Mike gives here in his monologue was in part pulled from Will's monologue in the van. Most don't know this because this line didn't make the final cut for the van scene, but in the official script the writers posted, what we find is an almost a direct parallel.

Which makes the reaction shots of Will and Jonathan directly after Mike says this all the more epic.

From Will's end he was probably hearing Mike say this and just thinking 'Damn. Well, that's what you get for using your feelings to inspire Mike to profess his love to El.'

But from Jonathan's end, I don't think his outside POV of these events overlapping was nearly as naive as his brothers understanding of the events. Because why the fuck would Mike need to use Will's feelings to inspire him to profess his love to El in the first place? Is this what Mike has been struggling with? Really? Why before every moment Mike takes action in this scene, is Will's hand literally pushing him into it? Why is Mike being so dramatic about saying I love you, stuttering and rambling about her being a superhero, not saying nearly as meaningful of things as what Will said in the van?

And then it hits him.

Mike is reminding him a little too much of another Wheeler right now...

Nancy Wheeler, who was afraid of what would happen if she accepted herself for who she really was, leading her to retreat back to the safety of Steve. Because Nancy liked Steve, but she didn't love Steve.

And now here is Mike Wheeler, who has went from being incredibly distant with Will after reuniting with El, something that is very unlike the Mike he knew in previous seasons, to something more himself again after they make up, with him looking at Will with adoration after hearing his words in the van, only to turn away and look heartbroken. Mike who is now struggling to simply tell El he loves her with Will right behind him literally yelling at him to do it.

And now it's like all those little moments are starting to add up to Jonathan.

Suddenly all those signs he picked up on from Will when he was younger are now blending in with moments Will shared with Mike. It was Mike who jumped in after him and his mom's speech to Will in the shed in s2, with tears in his eyes recalling the day that they met (without being asked, let alone pushed to). And it's Mike who is now looking like he's at war with himself as he attempts to give encouragement to El, just like he did with Will in s2, but this time he needs someone to push him to do it, and that person just so happens to be Will. After just finding out about Will's feelings and also while assuming El wants him to love her that way still, Mike is stuck.

I don't think it's takes a genius to consider Jonathan is capable of realizing how fucked they all are in this situation.

As much as Mike isn't ready for a sleuth of reasons, Will isn't ready either.

This provides a huge contrast between the bylers ², because while Jonathan and Nancy went through a similar experience to Will and Mike, them being ready to accept it and act on it didn't involve nearly as many factors and risks. Will and Mike also have the added barrier that is homophobia.

Will's internalized homophobia lies in part with assuming Mike could never feel the same based on some of the words he said in their last two fights, with parts being painfully reminiscent of the things his dad and bullies used to say about him. These are also words that contradict Mike's own words and actions from the previous seasons, things that did once give Will hope. The shame and guilt that comes with falling for your best friend, who you now know will never feel the same after being foolish enough to believe it not too long ago, and who might not even want to be your friend anymore upon finding out the truth, is understandable. He can't have hope like Jonathan can. It's just not the same.

Mike's internalized homophobia lies with assuming El wants him to love her, along with their relationship being expected and socially acceptable from everyone around him. Though unfortunately for her he feels abundantly more in love in the moments he shares with Will. The Pegasus - An Interview

Welcome back to PJSK News! I'm your host, Tenma Saki, and because Hoshino couldn't be here today, I have brought a special guest! Special guest, how about you introduce yourself?

Good evening, everyone! I am Tenma Tsukasa, a world star! Many of you know me by my stage name, the Pegasus!!! Saki here is actually my little sister!

That's an easy one! My surname, Tenma, means 'pegasus!' Therefore, I thought it only fitting to use that as my stage name!

I knew that one! Hehe, then I could use that as my pen name whenever I write articles! ..On second thought, that might be a little confusing.

Let's see, the next question is.. by @ithappenedonroute66 !! "If you are a star, then are you the sun and going to explode in the far future?"

E-er, you see, I'm not that kind of star! I'm a great and talented performer kind of star! BUT! I will explode in a blaze of glory in the future! You'll see, Saki, and uh.. it-happens-route-6!

This is a brilliant news network, run by my dear sister Saki and her friends! I try my best to listen to every single one of their reports! ..Though I haven't listened to the one about Akito yet! I've been a bit busy lately...

As for what should be reported on! I believe everything Saki and her friends report on needs their full attention! That being said, I recommend other Sekai's! So far, PJSK News has only reported on evnets happening around Shibuya Sekai, so if they could branch off to other Sekai's, I think that would be very cool!

Ooh, good idea! I'll talk to Ichi about that! Uh - also, the Akito going to jail one isn't that big of an event, haha..! There's no need for you to watch it!

That's a lot of money to pay considering how many pies they stole...

But stealing is no good! As the Pegasus and a world star, I should be setting a good example for all the young children out there! Everyone, if you're listening, don't steal!

seeing people's takes about the whole watcher situation is just a bit.... mind-boggling.

i think the apology they posted was good in the sense that they admitted to fucking up and walked back on their decision, and i think the model they've settled on now is a lot more reasonable (having content be released earlier for those who choose to subscribe), but like.... that doesn't mean that no one should've ever been mad at them in the first place???

like seriously, why does it seem like people are looking at a "good" apology and thinking "huh! they sure did apologize well! i guess that means that it was ridiculous for people to be mad in the first place! no one should have ever complained!!". if no one complained, they wouldnt have walked back their decision! they would've kept going with their dumb completely paywalled option!

and thats not even getting into the fact that their financial woes seem to come from completely mismanaging their money - hiring people when they can not afford to and spending more money on "high quality productions" when they cant afford to.... these are core issues that im not sure will be completely fixed by this? but idk.

also, this situation i think has really helped my own self come to terms with the fact that i do not enjoy many aspects of their content. i sorta already knew that considering i can not remember the last ghost files video i watched because i find that shit incredibly boring and overproduced, and even things like too many spirits have become a chore to watch bc they decided to extend the Not That Funny drink making portion when i just wanna hear some funny spooky stories.

anyway i guess my ultimate point here is: im glad they acknowledged they fucked up, but i also am not sure how interested i am in their content anymore in the first place. oh well

I don't know how controversial this take will be but. It genuinely confuses me the conversation of why it is "wrong" to dislike Peter Pettigrew as a character, especially when talking in canon context.

While we should agree that he is a key component of the Marauders group and he shouldn't be excluded if we are writing a inside canon universe due to this (I have myself decided not to include him in some fics, though, because luckily I can choose what to do with my writing and what not. this doesn't mean it should be the norm, just my preference), there's no information about him that can make me actually like him.

Peter committed the greatest betrayal, got his best friends killed and sold a toddler to Voldemort (and allegedly, he passed crucial information to the Death Eaters, resulting on the death of many members of the Order). Then, he proceeded to frame an innocent man, kill twelve people and hid as a rat living a comfortable life with the Weasleys. Not content with that, thirteen years later, Peter tried to convince said toddler he sold to Voldemort that he was innocent, no hesitation. And he killed Cedric Diggory as well, let's not forget this.

Peter shows remorse at the very end of his life, and only then. We can argue if he is or not a good character, but a likeable one? A redeemable one? He is the worst of the saga, the reason Harry was orphaned and raised in an abusive home. Acting as people has to like him is... well, no?

This doesn't mean you can't/shouldn't like him, but ignoring his actions will never sit right with me.
