Could you tell us more about the dredge au? (Sorry if this is considered a request)

not at all, and i'm more than happy to go into details!! (<- is deeply, deeply unwell about this au)

first off, i will link to some things. here is the dredge steam page, and here is the dredge wiki. i can't speak highly enough of the game, and i really recommend that you pick it up if you can, or watch a good let's play if you can't. it's also on consoles if that's how you get your stuff, but obvs i can't link that from here hahaha

anyway, dredge is a game where you play as a fisherman. you catch fish, sell them, and start to notice that things are... off about the world. some fish look strange, like they're cursed. they're called aberrations by the locals and their descriptions are...

...unsettling.

for several years now, mist descends on the ocean every night and chokes out the sky, and it makes you... see things. frightening things. sea monsters that hunt you. eyes floating in the distance. tentacles rising from the deep and capsizing your boat. the less you sleep, the worse these things get, but some things can only be caught at night. your job is to hunt down these bizarre artifacts for a mysterious collector, even though it feels like a bad omen to do so.

the dredge au has you, fisherman-chan, as a fisherman in this world. you were orphaned at a young age, and the lighthouse keeper in greater marrows took you in. not really... adopting you, per se, just kind of. keeping you off the street. and you've always, always wanted to sail. the freedom, the open ocean, all of it. you want a home, but have never really felt like you had one. not until donnie shows you that maybe home isn't a place, but the people there.

donnie and the other turtles are turtle aberrations. i can't really go into details about what that means or how it happened without spoiling both the game and future fics i'm planning on writing, but basically you can think of them as mutants, still. just eldritch mutants instead of ooze mutants hahahaha

to give some context without spoiling too much, there's a superstition in the game that consuming aberrant fish gives you eternal life, or maybe it just makes you mad. there's a kind of thread where the less sanity you have, the more you See things. and the au plays with this, making it not completely transparent what's real and what isn't, having you unsure if you're experiencing things that are actually there or if you're hallucinating. also, in order to talk to donnie and lavi, you have to be a little... loopy. the closer to madness you are, the closer to the sea you are, and the closer you are to donnie.

which, oh yeah, lavi is there, because eventually donnie knocks you up because papatello is the number one tello.

if i had to describe it in other terms, i'd say the au is kind of... shape of water meets little mermaid meets lovecraft. we're still doing our thing where we mash out the details bouncing back and forth so it's not like a solid Thing just yet, but as we hash things out i imagine more fics and art will be coming hehehe

So... I created a little ROTTMNT AU for MerMay...

*drumroll*

Introducing Mer!April AU!

So... it starts after April and the boys do a mission in the Hidden City docks and get into trouble with some sea yokai. April gets hit with a strange spell during the resulting fight, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on her.

At least, at first...

But soon after, April's skin starts get dry, she is always thirsty, itching for water, water, water and her mind is the same. The water seems to be calling her, its call giving the girl migraines and a dizzy, foggy mind.

She can ignore it for a few days, crunching the headaches and the strange new ways her body can ache for something up to the result of busy, dangerous lifestyle and a lack of proper rest.

But when she gets a bath one evening, her legs transform into a fish tail and when her lungs fill with water, it feels like she can finally breathe properly after days of suffocation and she drowns in the relief without realizing what is happening.

After awaking from the strange trance that befell her at first, April obviously panics at the sight of her legs getting replaced with a fish tail and calls the Turtles for help.

They come, shocked by what had happened to their friend and try to get her to the lair to further study what had caused this transformation and on the way back there, April transforms back to human form without any outside intervention. Donnie asks what April had done to detransform and she shrugs and says that she doesn't know.

This doesn't stay the only instance of a spontaneous April O'Neil mermaid transformation though.

Again and again, April starts to transform into a mermaid in the most random moments. Usually it's seems to be caused by her skin having contact with water for more than a few minutes, but no one is certain what makes April transform and detransform yet. Draxum says that it must be a curse by the sea yokai, but that he can't be for certain and neither does he know a way to free April of it.

So for now, April has to learn how to adapt to this curse and maybe even learn to see the good sides of it.

Luckily enough for her, she has three whole semi-aquatic turtle brothers and a loving family that can support her through it.

Alright I gotta ask about the theater au bc now I’m obsessed!

What would the boys favorite show be to perform/be a part in?! I’ve done tech (set building and some flyrail mainly) and played in the pit for a lot of shows, Rogers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella and Sound of Music were some of my favorites (Shrek, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid were also a lot of fun - my high school always did a Disney musical in the spring)

Would they each have their own favorite? Or would they all agree that one was the most fun? There’s so many good shows, I feel like Little Shop of Horrors would be a fun one for them to do!!

i think donnie would have a LOT of fun in making a set and doing tech for a show like Beetlejuice or Addams Family. the stuff they’ve got going on in those are INSANE and the music is great, dude def jammy jams to them

i think leo would love to do something like Legally Blonde bc that show is just ICONIC. he has a special attachment to the girlboss musicals, mamma mia, heathers, mean girls, you name it. he wants to BE heather chandler and you know he’s belting candy store during mic check much to donnie’s chagrin. but he’s def content with almost any show

I think Mikey would enjoy doing a Disney production, something like little mermaid like you said. but also any musical that has INTENSE dance numbers i think he’d have a lot of fun- something like Newsies. i think Leo would enjoy that a lot too

and i feel like Raph wouldn’t have too much a preference cuz he’s just happy to be apart of the team and isn’t one to get THAT obsessed w musicals themselves unlike donnie or leo, so u think it rlly depends on the cast and crews reactions themselves, he gets hyped over whatever they get hyped up on (this is prolly the same case for april, she’s fully supportive no matter what show they do. tho i do think she enjoys the horror based one’s the most)

but i think Raph’s favorites are prolly the disney ones too 😌

I wanna hear more about ur merturtle au pls. I think it's pretty neat and u have very squishy designs. Also is it okay to write fanfic of ur au? It wouldn't be much and it'll be my first time writing but I have a tentative idea.

OH!! Ofc u can use the designs // idea with credit ^^ If u ever write something, defo mention it to me on here so I can read it >:) The overall thing was originally just going to be fun ideas, and nothing major. Overall, basically everything is the same from the original, other than a few quirks and designs the turtles have. Leo would always make a snarky comment about how he'd have "The voice of a siren." Which ofc, Donnie would always correct. He's the fastest swimmer of the group, and is the one that usually dominates fighting fields. Ofc- only if he uses his brain, which he kinda needs to work on. Donnie on the other hand, had to figure out how to comfortably live his life out of the water, and be able to be happy with it. He's made a few adjustments, probably like keeping water in his battle shell and having a regular schedule to keep himself from not being too agitated. In this version ofc, he's made all of his equipment waterproof! Including Shelldon ofc!! Raph, as a thresher shark, I'd imagine his fighting style would change a bit. Ofc he'd still be the absolute tank, but I like to imagine he'd manage to kinda use his tail to his advantage. Like Splinter, he uses his tail as a weapon and can stun enemies And as the Raph fan I am, thought that maybe it'd be cool to explore a small idea: Raph's always been paranoid of his smile, of being too rough, of being too scary, etc. I want him to both understand his struggles and realize that those he really cares about just want to see the true him, and not a hand covering his sharp smile. Aka, some free angst I could mess around with ;) Mikey... i actually don't have a lot for him? He'd be a force of keeping the family together, kinda like in the cannon. He'd have the most colorful fighting style, especially when u add water to the mix! He'd be the one to make Raph realize how wrong he was about himself, he'd be the one to help Donnie with his designs, and he'd help Leo realize that a lot of the stuff that's happened to them wasn't his fault. Also, part of me would find it funny if HE was the one who had some sort of 'siren' 'mermaid' powers. Or this could just be me watching too much avatar and the last airbender- but i think it'd be funny if he could manipulate water, and have all that cool mermaid powers!! Just an idea tho ^^ NOW UH- sorry if that's a lot to read, so have this lil comic WIP. I probably won't finish it knowing me- it is my birthday after all, but I'm glad people are taking interest in my little au :]

Saints Row Monster AU

Because it’s FUCKIN HALLOWEEN!!! And supernatural/monsters/magic AUs are something I’m kind of notorious for making with all the fandoms and communities I find myself in.

This is obviously just a rough outline of ideas, like what kind of monsters/magic users everyone is and a few other details. As well as a list of ideas I almost used/scrapped for something I liked better in the end. This also stands to be mostly what I’ll pull ideas and concepts from for any art/writing I do for October, and like if anything on here gives you inspiriration for something then go nuts!! I highly support that shit!! I don’t own these concepts, I just like thinking of them and I like sharing my ideas with y’all. Anyways if you do get ideas from this though I would love to see it so definitely like tag me in it or somethin’!!

Jessica: Born a human witch, turned into Werewolf by Maero (cause duh); she can still do some weak magic, but for the most part she’s no longer able to cast spells or anything

Matt: Werewolf on technicality; it’s pretty weak in him, he can’t transform or nothing, but he’s got like traits that still clearly show that he is a werewolf, like his teeth or his eyes or his appetite

Josh Birk: Human; he tries very hard to get a real vampire to turn him (not that any really do ever, I mean it’s not like they just go around all willy nilly turning people)

There’s probably a lot of controversy surrounding NyteBlayde about whether or not it’s harmful to real vampires or not. Most are at the very least, pretty reasonably upset to find that Josh Birk is not a vampire nor does he ever really turn irl despite his character.

Matt Miller: Vampire; loves NyteBlayde, thinks it’s actually really amazing story and show that has good social commentary “even if it’s unintentional”
