Hi big brother. Today’s March 10th I think? I’m not so great at remembering dates but Papa was dead set on it because that’s your birthday, it’s amazing how he’s able to remember stuff like that after all this time.

I know it’s been a while since we talked, ever since you left I had to take over bird scout duties and just never had the time to sit down and write. Everyone’s been on edge. Y’know I still hold onto that jar of cinnamon sticks you gave me. Started chewing on them out of habit whenever the anxiety and dread was getting to my head. They taste just like home..

Papa told me he saw you again.

When he and a couple of the others were out on patrol with Mr. Leo and big sis Luci I mean COUSIN SERGEANT Luci haha, I think she’d resent me calling her that but I know she secretly adores me.

They said.. they said when they saw you you were.. already turned.

You knucklehead I guess that’s why you left in the first place but to leave without saying anything to anybody?! You know Uncle Mikey would’ve helped you like he did with the others that were infected. Or did you already know that it would’ve been pointless? Don’t you at least owe your own little sister a goodbye?! Dummy dum dumdum..

Papa thought he could somehow magically get through to you, y’know make you remember who you were before life went crazy.

I heard from Mr. Leo that Luci tried to stop Papa from acting like a idiot and getting himself killed. But she ended up getting hurt instead.

Bad.

Next thing Papa knew, you and Luci were on the ground, with only one of you moving. Judging by Mr. Leo’s face when I saw him come in, he looked very torn and distraught about a very tough call he had to make. I can already guess what it was he had to do. Cousin Luci is in rough shape but insists on rejecting any medical help saying it’d just be a waste of time and resources. Doesn’t she know we’re just trying to help her? The dumdum… Don’t tell her I called her that. I just don’t want to lose her too.

Papa said he could’ve sworn he saw a little smile on your face when he cradled you. Maybe that’s you finally realizing you’re not being controlled by those monsters anymore and can now be at peace knowing you can’t hurt anybody else. At least that’s how I see it. It must have been terrifying to go through that alone.

They said they couldn’t even bring your body back because of safety reasons and that it would put the base at risk of being tracked so I couldn’t even get to see you one last time!

I miss my big brother, I miss your dumb goofy smile, I miss us having bug eating competitions and laughing at you nearly choking on a beetle, I miss falling asleep on each other while watching tv, I miss seeing you chase after the raccoons with a broomstick whenever they raided our trash cans, I miss the dogs, I miss the taste of fresh fruit, I miss our HOME! I just want this nightmare to be done with. I’m just so.. tired..

Papa told me they at least gave him the chance to make a grave for you and to say his goodbyes. I should’ve been there with him saying them together.

He just looks so defeated and sad. I insisted to him that we at least put together a funeral service for you so the rest of us can say our peace.

It was nice.

Uncle Mikey and Bao combined their powers to transform the room into a beautiful recreation of a lush meadow full of butterflies and yellow daffodils while Mr. Tello played some lovely music he still had saved recorded in his tech. It was so tranquil it almost makes you forget for a second you’re in an apocalyptic hell scape.

I think you would've loved it.

Been working on my own tmnt iteration for a while and I'm excited to share my designs for the turtles in tmnt: chicago style!!! As you may have guessed from the name, this is tmnt but in chicago! All of the species for the guys are ones you can find in the chicago area/lake michigan :)

Raph - northern map turtle

Like- They know the feeling is mutual (they are aware that the reader feels the same way), but the reader is scared of relationships because of the past experiences they've had? So that causes them to kind of shut themselves off emotionally

anyway I loved these, writing for the rise boys always hits different (probably something to do with the fact that rise was my introduction back into the tmnt community but whatever) I LOVE THEM SM (mikey my beloved 🧡)

Leo:

In the beginning, Leo liked to flirt with you a lot

It was simply his way of showing he liked you, and asking if you returned his feelings without directly asking you

Leo being Leo, you could never tell if he was being genuine or not

But he started to notice that his flirting made you uncomfortable

So one day he found you while you were alone

He sat down next you and asked if you didn’t like his flirting

He explained that he flirted with you because he did actually like you, not as a joke

You replied yes and no, to which he was confused

You admitted to returning his feelings, but then you told him about your bad experiences in the past

Which was the reason for your hesitation

He was very understanding, and listened to the whole thing

He said he was glad you liked him back, but he would lay back on the flirting until you were ready

But you told him that the flirting was okay, now that you knew he liked you back

Raph:

When Raph started to have feelings for you, he starts to do more things for you

 Everything from handing you things to going out his way to getting stuff you liked when he went to the store

You appreciated it, but it also made you feel nervous

Why was he doing it? Did he want something in return? What did he want?

Because of this, whenever he did something for you, your reaction usually came off as a little anxious and rigid

He was confused at your reactions, and a little upset as well

He asked one day if you didn’t like the acts of service, and you told him it made you feel guilty

He could immediately feel his heart sink

He never meant to make you feel that way

He started asking what he could do to fix it

You told him it wasn’t his fault, it was yours

Then you explained to him your past experiences with relationships and how you liked him, so you thought he was taking advantage of you 

He said that he would never do that, and that he genuinely cared for you

He also said he would understand if you didn’t trust him, and that if you didn’t, he would do anything to earn it

Because he liked you a lot, and would indeed do anything for you

Mikey:

Mikey was always naturally affectionate with his family and friends, and you were no different

While you did have a crush on him, his constant affection made it feel like he was guilting you into being in a relationship with him

Whenever he ran to give you a hug, you kinda froze out of fear and anxiety

He caught on pretty quickly

So one time when you came over, he instead walked up and said hello

Which only freaked you out even more

It was almost like he expected you to hug him back, like you owed him one

He could see the discomfort on your face, so he asked what was wrong

You said nothing, but after he stared at you with a face that told you he saw through your lies, you told him everything

All about how you liked him, but his affection made you feel guilty

After you were done, he started profusely apologizing

He never meant to make you feel that way

He only did it because he cared for you…a lot

He asked if you wanted to be in a relationship right now or wait

But after you learned his true intentions, you told him you were a lot more comfortable with him now

Donnie:

Donnie didn’t really know how to act around you at first

He’s never had a crush before

And he also heard from Leo that you liked him back

So now whenever you were around, he was always a little nervous

He started acting a lot nicer around you

And just spending more time with you in general

You were scared because you had started to like him too

And it made you wonder if he had out and was trying to manipulate you because of it

So the tables were turned, now you were often the one to walk away from him

He was concerned because he now wondered if he was being too obvious

Eventually, Mikey helped him build up the courage to talk to you

He asked if you were okay and if anything was wrong

You said no, but he asked again, unsure if you were telling the truth

The silence was awkward, before he started talking again

He apologized for acting weird around you and said it was only because he liked you

You accepted his apology, and told him that it was okay because you liked him back too

You explained you were scared because of past experiences, and he understood

He asked if you'd be willing to start out slow to get used to it again, to which you gladly agreed

Reminder: Raph can make a giant avatar of himself and cloning, Leo can teleopt and make portals, Donnie can temporarely create anything from his mind. Mikey can use fire, infinite chains and anti-gravity. With all the canon rules.
