Tim McGraw - Standing Room Only

So today on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would like to talk about the latest album from Country Music Superstar Tim McGraw. The new album is titled "Standing room only" and was released on Friday August 25th, 2023. But before we dive into the new 13 track album, let's talk about some of career of Tim first.

Songs we may remember from Tim are hits like "Don't take the girl", "It's your love" with Faith Hill, & "Just to see you smile". Other big hits are "Live like you were dying", "Where the green grass grows", & "I like it, I love it". But before we dive too far off track, let's talk about the new album up next.

There are a lot of good songs on this new project. Tim even co-wrote 1 song on this new CD. Songs you should check out include "Hold on to it", "Standing room only" which is the title track, & "Paper umbrellas" sounds like an old school song to me. Other songs you might want to check out are "Fool me again", "Small town king", & "Beautiful hurricane". "Cowboy junkie", which is an upbeat song in my opinion "Nashville CA/L.A. Tennessee" featuring Lori McKenna, & "Some songs change your world". But here are the true standouts in my opinion from the new album "Remember me well", "Her" is my song for Krysta on the project, & "Letter from Heaven". Let's see the rest of the track list now.

Can you imagine how obnoxiously involved John would have been if he, Gideon, and Harrow had ever shared space for any period of time? Gideon and Harrow are still in their "what are we?" stage, but he's acting like Gideon has just brought home her first long-term girlfriend. A script so alien to both of them it's more bewildering than invasive.

Brett Young - Across The Sheets

So today on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would like to talk about the latest album from Country Music Singer Brett Young. The new album is titled "Across the sheets" and was released on Friday August 4th, 2023. But before we talk about what's on the new project, let's take a detour and talk about Brett's career for a bit.

Some of the biggest hits from Brett Young are "In case you didn't know", "Lady", & "Mercy" Brett Young has been an artist of the year for me in the past. And Brett has scored 3 number ones on my weekly list MSR (Midnight Star Report). My weekly list combines CMT (Country Music Television), the Billboard Country Music Airplay Charts, & even myself. The list used to include GAC (Great American Country) until the list officially retired at the end of 2018. Other hits from Brett are "You didn't", "Like I loved you", & "Here tonight". Let's dive back into the new 8 track album up next.

Some of the stand out tracks from the new Cd are songs like "Dance with you", "Let go too soon", & "Back to Jesus". The stand out track in my opinion is "Uncomfortable", and he brings back "You ain't here to kiss me" from his debut album in 2017, and even does a cover of Tim McGraw's "Don't take the girl". And Brett co-wrote 7 out of the 8 tracks, and even had some help from Julia Michaels. Here is the rest of the track list now.

Not a fan of 8 track albums, but there are some really good songs from this new project. I was thinking about giving this album a little lower album score. every time i see that post chiding trans men for using women's restrooms i want to chew on somebody's head. you think i LIKE using the women's restroom? you think i LIKE having to make a grim hobson's choice of "which bathroom is least likely to get me yelled at" every time i need to pee? i'm fucking flabbergasted that this is seen as "men invading female spaces" or "AFABs flexing their privilege" as opposed to, oh idk, a vulnerable group of people doing their level best to avoid being harassed and assaulted. like we are not the ones in the wrong here
