Doctor Who Theme: Round 1
Seasons 18-22
"The new theme was arranged by Peter Howell using his Yamaha CS-80, ARP Odyssey and Roland Jupiter 4 synthesisers as well as his EMS Vocoder, and some additional processing to that recording. [...] The opening and closing themes followed the pattern set in 1970 [...] However, Howell's theme began in the key of F-sharp minor. This obligated incidental music composers to end their final cue of the episode in the highly unusual key, or something complimentary. Howell therefore has called himself "the guy who just made it difficult for everybody". (DCOM: Meglos) Beyond this unusual feature, his opening remained unchanged aside from some very minor alterations to coincide with the revised Sixth Doctor opening sequence from The Twin Dilemma and his closing included the "middle eight" and ended with an explosive sound (nicknamed the "sonic boom" and complimented by the white-out effect at the end of the credits). This theme was used from Season 18 through Season 22."

Season 23
"Season 23 saw another new arrangement by Dominic Glynn. It was more haunting and ethereal than the previous themes, but very similar to Peter Howell's arrangement in most respects (enough so that the opening graphics remained unchanged from the final Howell season). The theme was in the E Minor key."

Here's How Peter Howell Remixed the Doctor Who Theme Tune in the 1980s
Here's How Peter Howell Remixed the #DoctorWho Theme Tune in the 1980s
Fans of the Doctor Who theme (and who isn’t, eh?) should check out this BBC report from 1982 in which Peter Howell describes how he went about revamping the programme’s famous opening tune. The clip was originally screened on 2nd February 1982 as part of The Music Arcade: Electricity in Music. Peter gives a detailed run through of his use of polyphonic analogue synthesisers, a vocoder, and an…

made a midislap remix of it (was a little tough since the midis note alignment and bpm automation was real janky) but im pretty proud of it. worked in some of that 6th doctor dominic glynn atmosphere, 12th doctor tubular bells, 7th doctor posh harpsichord on the middle 8, some "Cristobal Tapia De Veer" inspo for the instrumentation, and my own personal touch of the rock guitar intro sting. pretty proud of it, especially when that middle 8 hits
if you know who made this old ass midi file please give them my regards

How you hug
Jonah Hauer-King
He's just a sweetheart. He'll hold out his arms, asking for a hug rather than just giving one because he doesn't want to make you feel uncomfortable in public.
And then when you return the hug, his arms will just wrap around you securely and he'll lightly caress your shoulder with his thumb.
He loves burying his face in the crook of your neck as well and just take in your scent.
And when you're alone, this man won't be able to keep his hands off you (respectfully and consentually, of course). No matter how or which position, he'll have you in his arms.
Tom Glynn-Carney
(Sorry, couldn't find a gif of him hugging that fit)
Tom puts his everything into hugs. While it can be a small hug sometimes, he usually likes to pick you up. Especially after he's been away for a while and you come to pick him up at the airport.
He'll pick you up with ease, his hands on your back (or a little lower) and your legs wrapped around him. It's as if you are the only two people in existence.
Ewan Mitchell
(Sorry, couldn't find a gif of him hugging that fit)
Ewan is a tease and he simply loves hugging you from behind. He'll slide his hands from your hips to wrap around your waist and pull you into his chest.
He'll probably also sneakily press a kiss to your temple, cheek, neck or shoulder as well.
Matt Smith
Matt just loves to hug you tightly, wrap his arms around your shoulders and whisper sweet nothings into your ear.
This man is a gem and he would just lightly rub your back and tell you he loves you and all that.
Joseph Morgan
It's almost as if the world would end if he were to let go of you. At least, that's what he'd make it feel like.
In public he usually will stick to more of a small hug or a side hug, but among close friends, family or just the two of you, he will hold you as if his life depended on it.
He'll just wrap his arms around you, put one hand in your neck or on the back of your head to keep you close and sink into you.
Daniel Gillies
Much like Joseph, Daniel likes to just hold you close, but what mostly differs them, is that Daniel is more of a tease and more sneaky.
While he'll have one hand on the back of your head, cradling your neck or somewhere on your back, his other hand will most definetely be on your ass. It's just a little thing he likes to do, remind himself that you were really his and he was the only one who could hold you like that.
Paul Wesley
No matter how much of a jokester or tease Paul normally was, he was not about your hugs.
He would take you into a big bear hug, his arms around your shoulders, and just squeeze you close, swaying from side to side.
Don't get me wrong, he likes the occasional tap on your butt, but he preferes your hugs to be something special. As an actor he has to do a lot of intimate things with other women, which is why, when it comes to you, he likes to show his affections through the simplicity of a good hug.
Ian Somerhalder
Ian is very protective of the people he loves, and it shows through in the way he hugs.
His arms will wrap around you and he'll rest his chin on top of your head, holding you close, but not too tightly.
He likes to just have you close, make sure that you know he's there and how much he loves you, and his hugs really show that.
Chris Wood
Chris isn't much of a hugger, apart from the occasional ones, he usually sticks to just putting his hand on your shoulder or on your hip.
What he is, is a cuddler.
Whenever one of you are sitting or laying around somewhere, he'll find an excuse to cuddle.
If he's sitting on the couch, he'll nod for you to come over with a cheeky grin and then just pull you into his side, let your arms wrap around him and stroke your back, or play with your hair.
If, let's say, you visit him on set and are seated in his chair, he'll simply pick you up, earning lots of giggles as he sits down with you in his lap, his arms around your waist.
Jensen Ackles
Jensen gives more of a classic type of hug. His arms wrapping around you before he moves his hand up to stroke through your hair and cradle the back of your head.
He would be a little stiff at first, but after every hug you notice him growing a little softer, more comfortable.
Jared Padalecki
I know the gif is with Jensen, but I felt like it best captured Jared.
This man is as goofy as goofy can be. Look it up in the dictionary, you'll find his name.
Jared would just wrap his arms around you, locking you in his embrace and lift you up, teasing you that you're so small (most people are small compared to him).
It's silly, but he knows that it always makes you laugh, and that's his goal.
Especially when either of you have a bad day, he knows his sillyness will cheer you up, as the sound of your laughter does that for him. It's his little way of showing you he cares and that he feels comfortable enough with you to be his goofy self.
Matthew Daddario
Matt is a simple, affectionate man.
He loves having you near, wrapping a casual arm around your shoulders.
His hugs would be different depending on the reason for the hug. If it's just a hug, he'll wrap an arm around your shoulders and pull you into his chest. If it's because either of you is upset about something, he'll slide his arms around your waist and draw you in like that and if it's out of happiness or excitement, he'll wrap his arms around your waist and give you a small spin.
Dominic Sherwood
(Sorry, couldn't find a gif of him hugging that fit)
Dominic is an affectionate man and he doesn't shy away from showing you how much he cares about you, even through little things such as hugs.
He'll put his arms around you and just give you a big, good hug, whether you're alone, with friends and family, or out in public, he doesn't care. He knows you're his (and he's yours) and he's not afraid to show it.
Dylan O'Brien
If there was any possible way to hug you tighter, he would.
He's silly and goofy most of the time, but he's also very much in touch with his emotions and a vulnarable man. He won't always say it, but your hugs are his favorite thing.
He especially loves it when you are the one to initiate the hug as to him it's a sign that you want him around and that you like holding him as much as he loves being held by him.
You'll put your arms under his shoulders and his arms would lock around you as he'd pepper the side of your face and your shoulder with kisses, all to convey his love for you and show how much he cares about you.
Tom Holland
He likes to hug you from behind, let you know that even though you don't always see him, he loves you and he wants to hold you.
His arms would wrap around your shoulders and he'll press a kiss to your cheek before burying his face in your shoulder.
He especially loves it when you put your hand over his wrist and reach your other hand back to move through his hair as he finds the simple touch very comforting.
Josh Hutcherson
Random hugs are his favorite.
No reason behind it other than wanting to have you in his arms.
His arms wrapped around your waist, his chin on your shoulder. Short, but sweet.
As he would pull away, he'd give your ass a small tap or press a quick peck to your cheek.
Really, just short and sweet.
But also often.
VERY often.
If you come to visit him on set and they're looking for him, he'll most likely be off somewhere with you in his arms.
Tom Blyth
As stated before, Tom is a very affectionate person, so he will not miss up on the oppertunity to hug you.
When he comes back from filming, when you visit him or when you simply see each other again, he would practically tackle you in a hug.
His arms would wrap around your waist and being quite tall, he'd just pick you up in his arms, probably earning giggles and laughter.
Except when you're feeling down or having a bad day.
Then he'd wrap one arm around your waist and another around your shoulders, holding you close and hugging you tightly until you're feeling at least a little bit better.

One Night // Tom Glynn-Carney x f!Reader
Summary: Where reader goes out with her friends and meets this charming, sweet (and so fucking) hot guy in a club.
A/N: This is the first fic I have published based on a real person. I don't know Tom, this is just puuuure fiction, thank you very much! It's actually just a short little One-Shot :)
Ship: Tom Glynn-Carney x Reader
Warnings: Language (is it tho?), mentions of having sex, use of alcohol, One Night Stand
You have always thought of yourself as a pretty ordinary person. You had a decent job, a decent apartment, and a group of friends that you could count on for a good time. So when your best friend, Emily, suggested you go out to a trendy new club in London, you thought, why not?
The club was packed, the music loud enough to make you feel it in your chest. You weren't usually one for these kinds of places, preferring a quiet pub or a cozy night in with a book. But tonight, something felt different. You wanted to let loose, to forget about the mundane for just one night.
After a few drinks and a lot of dancing, you found yourself at the bar, slightly tipsy and in need of a break. That’s when you noticed him. A man standing beside you, ordering a drink with an easy confidence. He had a rugged charm about him, with tousled blonde hair and an intense gaze that seemed to see right through you.
“Having a good time?” he asked, his voice smooth and inviting.
“Yeah, better than I expected,” you replied with a smile. “I’m Y/N, by the way.”
“Tom,” he said, extending a hand. You shook it, feeling a strange spark at the touch.
You chatted for a while and you found yourself genuinely enjoying his company. He was funny, down-to-earth, and didn’t seem to have any of the pretentiousness you often encountered in these places. He didn’t mention his job, and you didn’t ask. You talked about music, movies, and travel – all the things that made life interesting.
Your laughter mingled with the thumping bass of the music, your body moving freely to the rhythm. Tom's eyes, a striking shade of blue, sparkled under the dim club lights as he leaned in closer. Your conversation flowed effortlessly, a seamless exchange of stories and laughter that felt strangely intimate for two people who had just met.
Before you knew it, the night had flown by, and the club was starting to thin out. Tom glanced around, then leaned in, his breath warm against your ear. "Do you want to go somewhere quieter? Maybe talk without shouting over the music?"
You hesitated for a brief moment, then nodded. There was something about Tom that made you want to throw caution to the wind, to embrace this rare sense of spontaneity. "Sure, why not?"
You walked through the bustling streets of London, the cool night air a refreshing contrast to the heat of the club. Tom hailed a cab, and you slid into the back seat, a comfortable silence settling between you. The ride was short, and soon, you stood in front of a sleek, modern apartment building. Tom unlocked the door and gestured for you to enter.
You stepped inside, taking in the stylish decor. The apartment was a perfect blend of modern chic and cozy comfort, with clean lines, soft lighting, and personal touches that hinted at Tom’s personality. He led you to the living room, where a leather sofa dominated the space, flanked by bookshelves filled with an eclectic mix of literature and knick-knacks.
"Make yourself comfortable," Tom said, heading to the open-plan kitchen. "What can I get you to drink?"
"Surprise me," you replied, sinking into the plush cushions of the sofa. You watched as Tom expertly mixed two drinks, his movements confident and precise. He handed you a glass, your fingers brushing briefly, sending a jolt of electricity through you.
"To unexpected nights," Tom toasted, raising his glass.
"To unexpected nights," you echoed, clinking her glass against his while you were blushing slightly.
You sipped your drinks, the alcohol warming you from the inside out. The conversation picked up where it had left off, but now there was an added layer of intimacy. You sat close, your knees touching, voices low and hushed. Tom's gaze never left your face, his eyes tracing your features as if trying to memorize them.
The air between you grew charged, the unspoken tension crackling like static. You felt your pulse quicken, your breath coming in shallow bursts. Tom set his glass down and leaned in, his hand gently cupping your cheek. He paused for a heartbeat, searching your eyes for any sign of hesitation. When he found none, he closed the distance, his lips capturing yours in a kiss that was both tender and passionate, making your heartbeat quicken.
You melted into the kiss, your arms wrapping around his neck as you pulled him closer. The world outside faded away, leaving only the two of you lost in the moment. The kiss deepened, your bodies pressed together, a hunger igniting between you.
Tom's hands roamed over your back, tracing the curve of your spine while your fingers tangled in his hair. You broke apart briefly, gasping for air, your foreheads resting together. "Are you sure about this?" Tom whispered, his voice husky with desire.
"More than sure," you replied breathlessly, your heart pounding in her chest.
What followed was a whirlwind of passion and desire. Clothes were shed hastily, discarded in a trail leading to the bedroom. You moved together with an urgency that bordered on desperation, your bodies finding a rhythm that felt both new and familiar. Tom's touch was gentle yet firm, his kisses searing a path across your skin. You felt more alive than you had in a long time, every nerve ending alight with pleasure.
You finally fell asleep in each other’s arms, your bodies entwined, the city outside just a distant hum. The night had been a blur, but one thing was clear: it was a night neither of you would soon forget.
You woke up to the soft light of dawn filtering through the curtains. You carefully slipped out of bed, not wanting to wake Tom. You dressed quietly, glancing back at him, a sense of something deeper stirring within you. You shook it off, knowing this was a one-night stand, nothing more.
You scribbled a quick note thanking him for a wonderful night and left it next to Tom before slipping out the door. The cool morning air hit your face as you stepped outside, swirling within you a mix of exhilaration, confusion, and a hint of sadness.
Back in the apartment, Tom woke up to find the note. He cursed softly under his breath, realizing he had forgotten to ask for your number. He sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the note in his hand, feeling a strange emptiness. For once, he had met someone who treated him like a normal person who didn’t care about his fame or his job. And now you were gone.
You walked through the quiet streets of London, replaying the events of the night in your mind. You knew it was just a fleeting moment, a brief escape from reality, but it was a night you would never forget, a night that made you feel truly alive.
As you reached your apartment, you couldn’t help but wonder what might have been. But you pushed the thought away, determined to hold onto the memory of a perfect night with no regrets. Life would go on, but you would always have that one night in London, with a man named Tom.
Later that morning, Tom found himself at their usual rehearsal spot, a grungy but cozy studio tucked away in East London. The rest of the Sleep Walking Animals were already there, casually tuning their instruments and chatting amongst themselves.
“Morning, mate,” Joe greeted Tom, plucking at his guitar strings.
“Morning,” Tom replied, his voice absent-minded.
Alex, noticing Tom’s distraction, smirked. “Someone’s got their head in the clouds. Or should I say, still in bed with that hot Y/H/C from last night?”
Tom shot him a look. “Shut it, Alex.”
“Oh, come on, Tommy boy,” Bill chimed in, drumming a rhythm on the edge of a table. “You looked proper smitten when you left the club. She must’ve been something special.”
“She was,” Tom admitted, slumping down onto a battered old couch. “But she buggered off before I could even ask for her number.”
“Savage,” Jack said, shaking his head. “Didn’t even leave a name or nothing?”
“She did,” Tom replied, running a hand through his hair. “Y/N. That’s all I got.”
“Y/N,” Nuwan mused, his fingers dancing over the keys absentmindedly. “Could be anyone, mate.”
“Thanks, Captain Obvious,” Tom muttered, frustration evident in his tone. “It’s just... I dunno, she was different. Didn’t give a fuck about who I am or what I do. Just treated me like a normal person.”
“Well, you are a normal person, mostly,” Joe teased. “Except when you’re whining about a girl like a lovesick puppy.”
“Oh, fuck off,” Tom said, but there was a hint of a smile.
“Can’t believe she just legged it,” Bill said, shaking his head in mock disapproval. “What, were you that bad in bed?”
The room erupted in laughter, and Tom threw a cushion at Bill. “Piss off, Caple. It was great, thank you very much.”
Alex leaned over, grinning. “So, did you shag or not?”
Tom rolled his eyes but couldn’t help the grin spreading across his face. “Yeah, we did. And it was... it was amazing.”
“Sounds like you’ve got it bad, mate,” Jack said, strumming a chord on his bass. “Bet you wish you could find her again.”
“Yeah,” Tom admitted, his voice softer now. “I really do.”
The guys exchanged looks, the teasing dropping away for a moment.
“Look, mate,” Joe said, more seriously. “We’ve got a gig tonight. Maybe you’ll meet someone else who’s just as cool. Don’t get too hung up on one girl.”
Tom nodded, knowing Joe was right but still feeling the pang of regret. “Yeah, I suppose.”
Nuwan started playing a familiar tune on the keys, and the rest of the band gradually joined in. The music filled the room, and for a while, Tom let it carry him away, the notes and rhythms a welcome distraction from thoughts of you.
But even as they played, your face lingered in his mind, a reminder of a night that felt all too fleeting and a connection that was painfully out of reach.
You sat with your friends at your favorite coffee shop, a cozy little place with mismatched furniture and a laid-back vibe. Emily, Sarah, and Jess were all there, sipping on their drinks and catching up on the latest gossip. You knew it was only a matter of time before the conversation turned to you.
“So, Y/N,” Jess started with a sly grin, “anything interesting happen last night? You disappeared from the club pretty quick.”
You felt your cheeks flush. “Maybe.”
“Maybe?” Sarah echoed, her eyebrows raised. “Come on, spill it! Who was the guy?”
“His name’s Tom,” you said, trying to sound casual. “We met at the bar, hit it off, and... well, I went back to his place.”
“Oh my God, Y/N!” Emily exclaimed, nearly spilling her latte. “You had a one-night stand? With a guy you just met?”
“Yeah, I did,” you admitted, unable to hide your smile. “And it was amazing.”
“Details, please,” Jess demanded, leaning in. “How was he? What was his place like?”
“He was... incredible,” you said, feeling the warmth of the memory. “Funny, down-to-earth, and not full of himself. His place was pretty stylish too, very him.”
“Sounds like a dream,” Sarah sighed. “And you didn't get his number?”
You shrugged. “No, I left early, and he was still asleep. I didn’t want to wake him. Besides, it was just a one-night thing.”
“Still,” Emily said, shaking her head, “you should’ve left your number or something. What if he wants to see you again?”
“I doubt it,” you said, trying to sound nonchalant. “He probably doesn’t even remember my name.”
“You never know,” Jess said with a wink. “Maybe he’s thinking about you right now, regretting not getting your number.”
“Yeah, right,” you said, but a small part of you couldn’t help but hope Jess was right.
“Anyway,” Emily said, changing the subject, “my brother’s got tickets to this gig tonight. Some indie band. He asked me to come, and I thought it could be fun. You guys in?”
“Who’s the band?” Sarah asked, taking a sip of her coffee.
“Sleep Walking Animals,” Emily replied. “Ever heard of them?”
“Sounds vaguely familiar,” Jess said, shrugging. “Why not? I’ve got nothing better to do.”
“Same here,” Sarah agreed. “Could be fun.”
“What about you, Y/N?” Emily asked. “Got any plans tonight?”
You shook her head. “Nope, nothing. I’m in.”
“Great!” Emily said, clapping her hands. “It’s a plan then. We’ll meet up at my place and head over together.”
As you finished your coffees and chatted about other things, you felt a strange sense of anticipation building inside you. You weren't sure why, but the thought of going to this gig excited you. Maybe it was just the idea of a night out with your friends, or maybe, somewhere deep down, you hoped for something more.

TOM GLYNN-CARNEY INTERVIEWED BY VARIETY MAGAZINE.
WHAT WAS IT LIKE SEEING THE MAKEUP AND PROSTHETIC FOR AEGON'S APPEARANCE AFTER ROOK'S REST?
"The testing stage was long, and took a while to nail what we were gonna go for."
"Lots of different versions."
"The one we settled on was gnarly, to say the least."
HOW DID IT FEEL WEARING THE MAKEUP FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE EPISODE? WAS THERE ANY POINT WHERE YOU DISCUSSED WAKING UP FOR A BRIEF SCENE? IN “FIRE & BLOOD,” AEGON IS OUT FOR A YEAR, SO I WAS CURIOUS THE EXTENT TO WHICH AEGON WILL BE OUT OF COMMISSION?
"Well, no, we couldn’t give Aemond a year or two to enjoy his position."
"We had to speed up time a little bit."
"But it was great."
"It was restrictive in all the right ways."
"It was claustrophobic."
"It informed the way that I breathe and move and spoke, whenever I did."
"I was very grateful to be included in the discussion process, from conception stage to the end."
HAVE YOU CREATED A NEW VOICE FOR AEGON FOR WHEN HE'S ABLE TO SPEAK AGAIN?
"I didn’t create a new voice."
"I did a lot of research into how intense heat and burns can affect your vocal folds, and just completely decimate them."
"Obviously I couldn’t do that to myself, so I had to find a way to replicate it."
"It was something that I had to definitely consider going into this new stage of Aegon."
"He has to feel changed, like he’s shifted."
"And I hope that reads eventually."
IN HIS INCAPACITATED STATE, DOES AEGON KNOW AEMOND DELIBERATELY ATTACKED AND BURNED HIM? HOW DO YOU INTERPRET THE FINAL SCENE OF EPISODE 4, WHEN IT LOOKS LIKE AEMOND IS EITHER SHEATHING HIS SWORD WHEN HE APPROACHES AEGON, OR HE'S GOING IN FOR THE KILL?
"That’s for the audience to decide."
"I can’t comment on that."
"I don’t want to tell people what to think."
"That’s up for grabs."
AEGON AND SUNFYRE HAVE A BEAUTIFUL SCENE TOGETHER IN EPISODE 4 WHEN HE RIDES HIM. WHAT LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY DOES AEGON FEEL FOR WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS DRAGON?
"He is very important to Aegon."
"What I enjoyed about that moment was that there was a little bit of a light shown on their relationship to each other, and the vulnerability between the two of them."
"It’s funny, I have a beautiful golden retriever, and on the day we had that scene, it was as if it were Ziggy, my dog, sort of pushing my chest."
"It felt like it was him."
"So any interaction I’m having there with Sunfyre is like having my own dog."
"There’s an understanding and appreciation of each other, and they don’t see each other as often as they would like, but there’s probably good reason for that."
"It lends itself to showing Aegon’s vulnerability and that softer side that I’ve tried to carve out a little bit more of this season."
SO AEGON WOULD FEEL SOME RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM?
"Of course."
"It’s like taking your dog for a walk and he gets hit by a car."
"That’s my fault."
HOW DOES TAKING AEGON OFF THE BOARD AFFECT ALICENT AND THE GREENS?
"Well, from Aegon’s bed, he probably thinks it gives her a little bit more room to be more of a dominant force in the small council."
"It frees up that seat at the end of the table."
'I don’t think in Aegon’s bed he’s thinking': — “Oh, Aemond’s probably going to sit there as prince regent.”
SO YOU DON'T THINK AEGON THOUGHT AEMOND HAD INTENTIONS OF SITTING ON THE IRON THRONE? BACK IN SEASON 1, THERE WAS A MOMENT WHERE AEGON DIDN'T EVENT WANT THE THRONE, BUT AEMOND BROUGHT HIM BACK TO SERVE.
"I think that’s where that idea at the start of Season 2 was born, where Aegon is talking about how Aemond’s as loyal as a dog and will attack enemies on command and knows his place within the realm."
"But that coin can flip at any moment."
"We’re all dancing on a knife’s edge, and all it takes is one little push from one side."
"With the volatility that runs in Targaryen blood, there’s always potential for betrayal."
"But then again, was it intentional? Who the hell knows?"
WHAT WOULD WESTEROS BE LIKE WITH AEMOND AS KING?
"He’d be a steel fist, wouldn’t he? I think he’d be quite cutthroat, and a cold king probably."
"At least from the outset, he’d want people to fear him."
"He often talks about being bullied as a child, so he probably wants to reinstate himself as a secure, powerful man who won’t be messed with, which could be dangerous in a kingly position."

Pairing : Ewan Mitchell x Bestfriend!Reader, Tom Glynn-Carney x Bestfriend!Reader, Matt Smith x Bestfriend!Reader (not specified who, and they will only be referred to as He or his)
Summary : After being friends for a long time, you both decided to take your relationship to the next stage.
i got inspiration from reading this amazing story, thank you love.
The concepts of soulmates is questionable, as most people have at least discussed once. But, it is undeniable in this situation as the way he and your chemistry aligns is evidently wonderful. The lad has informed his girlfriend one time that he is one amongst the fortunate few to discover a home in someone.
“You really are the personification of my greatest decision to have ever made.” he breaks the peaceful and comfortable silence. He can't help but smile quietly at the rims of his lips. “And I’m generally the one who makes poor choices.”
You steals glances on your man, shaking your head, and returns a delicate chuckle. “I’ve known it since the beginning.”
Then laughter dominates between you two, with warmth pouring from their never-ending conversation, which largely consists of reminiscing about their first everything.
“Can’t believe a common friend will bring us here.” you admits with a string of pleased giggle, “I’m never a fan of stumbling into each other, but I’ll never not dislike it with you.”
After a brief second, the other side hums in agreement, scooting closer to the young lady with the same fond expression.
“My home, my best company, my safe haven, my everything. Thank you, baby, for being my person.”
Yours breath hitches on the throat once your body is colliding with him. You sneaks your arms to wrap around your boyfriend’s neck instinctively, leaving no space in between the two of you. When he slides his hand up to the side of yours hips, slowly lifting your white shirt up and exposing your naked skin, a gasp escapes your lips.
It’s warm, and just a mere touch from him sets all your nerves ablaze, igniting something inside you. You slowly rocks your hips to grind against his, tilting up to lock gaze with him.
He mumbles, "You’re driving me insane," to which you simply smiles in delight and then presses your lips together.

Fancasting The Secret History
sharing my vision of who could play these classics students
i tried to be as realistic as possible, considering their book descriptions and casting actors close in age to each other and their characters. after seeing so many of the same names in these fancasts, i wanted to throw some new ones in the mix!
henry's a big guy, dark-haired, square-jawed, bespectacled — he basically looks like clark kent/superman. so my thought process went to henry cavill look-alike, jamie flatters (b. 2000). coincidentally, my old fancast was david corenswet, so i guess it all checks out. i only know jamie from avatar: the way of water, but based on his music videos, i think he's got the acting chops to capture henry's more unhinged side that he lets slip idk
to me, bunny is the most american out of the group because of his family background, it's even described as "an upbringing vitally present in Bunny in every respect, from the way he shook your hand to the way he told a joke." saw this rudy pankow (b. 1998) casting suggestion on mycast and it just made total sense to me. having watched him as jj maybank in outer banks, i know he can capture how obnoxious bunny can be, and he'll do well trying to annoy every character and pushing their buttons.
admittedly, this was a hard one because i originally had tom glynn-carney in mind but i wanted someone younger, so i didn't go too far and went with ty tennant (b. 2002) who's played the younger version of his characters twice now. i mean if you think about it, aegon ii targaryen and charles have a couple things in common: both are alcoholics and have an incestuous relationship with their sister since charles and camilla look androgynous and described as angels, i figured ty looks the part. i also believe in ty's acting skills to portray charles' complexity as the story goes on.
i thought of young actresses who resembled ty and went with thomasin mckenzie (b. 2000), who i loved in jojo rabbit and last night in soho. i know thomasin would look good as a blonde, but more importantly, she's got the face for period dramas. camilla is enigmatic, but i think richard just saw her as like an ingénue, so i figured thomasin can do that layered performance.
thought and long hard for who to cast as francis because i'm so tired of seeing the same redhead actors or some random redhead model 😭 thank goodness luther ford (b. 1999/2000) has been discovered. his portrayal in the crown sold me because it was very francis of him to just sit around drinking booze and smoking while dressed in modern princely clothing.
another inspired casting suggestion i saw on mycast — physically, i think dominic sessa (b. 2002) truly fits the bill; i like that he's not your conventionally good-looking guy too. acting-wise, he was incredible in the holdovers. and i believe he could put so much more personality to richard papen's character.
might make a part 2 for other characters like julian morrow and judy poovey :> thanks for checking this out and let me know if you see the vision!
p.s. it's never gonna happen but it'd be interesting to just see this set of actors get together because they seem like a bunch of introverts 😭 they might bond over taking film photos of each other though so that's cool

stephen is such a funny engine. he was the one who was so paranoid over being replaced by glynn yet he’s also the one who’s the most ecstatic when sir robert told him that he and glynn will be working together at the end of Over The Hill. stephen tried to assert his dominance like mentioning his historical importance and age and speed and expect glynn to react negatively yet glynn just agreed and went "yeah you’re cool! this place's cool " and stephen's so baffled and glynn asked if he's okay. what’s his issue

Books for the Hierophile
Similar to my fic recommendation list, the following is a list of books that might be of interest to any hierophile (Christian based hierophilia anyway). The majority of books here are erotica or romance (het, mlm, and wlw) and physical copies can be found at most major in-person and online book sellers, unless stated otherwise. The titles are listed in alphabetical order with a brief synopsis.
A Knight for the Runaway Nun (#2 in Convent Brides series) by Carol Townend - An evocative friends-to-lovers story set in Medieval France. From novice nun…To unexpected bride! Lady Bernadette is poised to take Holy Orders when Sir Hugo of Nérac, her father’s captain of the guards, arrives with news that her sister is expecting. Petrified of childbirth since her mother died, Bernadette races home. But now that she’s left the convent, her father wants her wed! There’s only one solution: marry Hugo, her childhood friend. But can she risk consummating their marriage and conceiving…even if his kisses are unbearably tempting?
Beautiful Sinner (stand-alone novel in Beautiful series) by Sara Cate - “Lord, help me…A beautiful, young American girl wound up stranded far from home on my doorstep. When she begged me to stay, I did what a good priest would do, and I said yes. But a good priest wouldn’t spend his days thinking about the fullness of her ruby red lips or feel the sting of envy with the way she draws men to her like flies to honey. A good priest would have stopped things before that first touch. And he certainly wouldn’t have given into temptation so easily, but when Cadence Thorn walked in, she brought me to my knees. A good priest takes his vows seriously. But I am not a good priest.” Only available in Kindle Edition.
Collared: The Story of a Sir and Her Priest by Melissa Cohen - "Collared: The Story of a Sir and Her Priest" is the true story of a real-life Master/slave relationship between Melissa, a dominant woman, and Joseph, a submissive man ... who happens to be a Roman Catholic Priest. It's the story of their forbidden love and the emotional depths they explore, all the while having to keep their relationship a complete secret. But as their love deepens and her ownership of him grows more real, Joseph is faced with the choice between honoring his commitment to God and leaving the priesthood for a chance at the freedom to love.
Dirty Priests and Preachers Gay Erotica Collection by T. J. Royalty - Men of the cloth – without the cloth! Priests exploring forbidden urges. Preachers committing unholy sin. These stories will have you on your knees and praying for mercy! Compilation and individual stories featured are only available in Kindle Edition.
Dancing Priest (#1 in Dancing Priest series) by Glynn Young - Michael Kent... A young man studying to become a priest finds love, and learns that faith can separate. A university cyclist seeking Olympic gold finds tragedy, death and heroism. A pastor thousands of miles from home seeks vocation and finds fatherhood. Sarah Hughes... A young woman living abroad finds love and loses family. A university student meets a faith she cannot accept. An artist finds faith and learns to paint with her soul. Dancing Priest is the story of Michael Kent and Sarah Hughes and a love, born, separated, and reborn, in faith and hope.
Everybody Calls my Father, Father: The Scandalous, Passionate Love Affair Between a Catholic Priest and a Broadway Actress by Tim “Dr. Hope” Andres - Everybody Calls my Father, Father is based on the true life love story of the author's parents. The character of a tenacious young woman, Bouvette Sherwood, who is a successful New York Broadway producer and actress, drives the plot. In the mid 1940s Bouvette meets and falls in love with a charming alcoholic, Hughie Hewitt. He has a secret though, which he keeps from her during their intense courtship-he is a Catholic priest! Their love story unfolds into a kaleidoscope of intrigue, suspense, betrayal, and romance.
La Faute de L'Abbé Mouret (The Sins of Father Mouret) by Émile Zola - Serge Mouret, is an obsessively devout priest, aspiring to perfect purity and sanctity. A serious illness leaves him with amnesia, and no longer knowing he is a priest, he falls in love with his nurse Albine. Together they roam an Eden-like garden called the "Paradou," seeking a forbidden tree, beneath whose boughs they make love. Anguish follows, as the abbe regains his memory and returns to the church. In this, the fifth novel in the Rougon-Macquart series, Zola concentrates on the conflict between church and nature; celibacy and sexuality. A film adaption called The Demise of Father Mouret, starring Francis Huster and Gillian Hills, was released in 1970.
In Love With a Priest by Damilola Babs - In Love With a Priest poses a question to us all; when God chooses to hold a man, does he ever let go? Find out in the story of Maya Alpha Lange. A story of love, hurt and God's true peace.
Keeping His Commandments by Elle Keating - Desire, lust, love…You’re not supposed to feel those things for a woman, and you’re definitely not allowed to act on them when you’re a Catholic priest. I had taken vows; vows that I’ve upheld for eight celibate years, and had made a promise to God that I swore I would never break. But then I met Eva, my stepmother’s estranged twenty-eight-year-old daughter, and she made me forget who I was. What I was.I prayed for guidance.I prayed for the strength not to give into temptation. My prayers went unanswered…or so I thought
Léon Morin, Prêtre (The Passionate Heart) by Béatrix Beck - In a small French town during the Occupation, Barny is a young, wayward, sexually frustrated widow, living with her little girl. She is also a communist militant who long ago decided that the easiest way was the best. One day she enters a church, randomly chooses a priest and starts criticizing the religion. But the priest is Leon Morin, who is young, handsome, clever and altruistic. He believes that any sin can be expunged by a good dose of faith, and does not offer her the reaction she was expecting. She is disturbed. She starts frequenting Morin, impressed by his moral strength, while he makes it his mission to steer her onto the right path. A film adaptation starring Jean-Paul Belmondo and Emmanuelle Riva was released in 1961.
Love Letters of a Portuguese Nun by Gabriel de Guilleragues - The "Portuguese Letters" were published anonymously in 1669, alleged translations into French of letters written by a Portuguese nun to a French officer who had loved and left her. Recent scholarship suggests Guilleragues was their author. Reminiscent of the exchanges between Heloise and Abelard of an earlier time, the letters display a remarkable acuity of psychological insight into the mind of a woman in love and on the edge of hysteria.
Lesbian Nun Erotica: Forbidden Age Gap by Madeline Vey - A new student at an all girl's catholic school finds herself as the center of attention of her insatiable classmates. As the only... uncorrupted girl left on campus, she'll be forced to watch and tempted by the unspeakable acts committed by the other girls... until she's begging them to include her in their sin.
La Madre (The Woman and the Priest) by Grazia Deledda - The Woman and the Priest is the story of a struggle between a priest, his lover and his mother. It is an unusual book, both in its story and its setting in a remote Sardinian hill village, half civilized and superstitious.
Naughty Nuns and Passionate Priests: Three Erotic Shorts by Fallon Angel - Three stories of untouched nuns, guilty excitement, and willingly broken vows. This collection combines the Sin and Sacrilege trilogy into one volume.
Nun Better by Joanie Lindenmeyer with Carol Tierheimer - What happens when two women commit to serving the Catholic Church as nuns-Brides of Christ, taking vows of chastity-but fall passionately in love? They must defy the Church's rules against same-sex relationships and blaze a bold trail for a joyous, adventurous life together-at a time when LGBTQ people could be killed for being gay and same-sex marriage was decades in the future. Now Joanie Lindenmeyer and Carol Tierheimer are sharing their courageous and blissful, 40-year journey in NUN BETTER: An AMAZING Love Story. Of course it was forbidden - he was a priest, and she was a nun - but they couldn't help themselves. Suddenly their chaste, celibate lives felt like a prison, and they longed to be free, to lose themselves in passion together, even if the consequences altered their lives forever.

The Sacred Sins of Father Black: A MM Forbidden Priest Romance by St. John Starling - Father Sebastian Black might be a saint, or he might be the Devil himself. With a spate of forged rare wines flooding the auction houses of the world, even communities as charming and innocuous as Father Black’s church are subject to scrutiny. Quentin Day is brilliant, charismatic, and, above all, dedicated to the truth — everything an FBI agent should be. In practice, all this does is force him to stand alone in a corrupt system. Sacrilege: A Forbidden Dark Romance Anthology - Corruption. Sin. Greed. Temptation. Nothing is sacred. Not the priest who looks at you with hunger etched into his rugged face. The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough - The Thorn Birds is a chronicle of three generations of Clearys—an indomitable clan of ranchers carving lives from a beautiful, hard land while contending with the bitterness, frailty, and secrets that penetrate their family. It is a poignant love story, a powerful epic of struggle and sacrifice, a celebration of individuality and spirit. Most of all, it is the story of the Clearys' only daughter, Meggie, and the haunted priest, Father Ralph de Bricassart—and the intense joining of two hearts and souls over a lifetime, a relationship that dangerously oversteps sacred boundaries of ethics and dogma. A television mini series adapted from the novel starring Richard Chamberlain and Rachel Ward aired in 1983.
To Love a Priest by Victor S. E. MouBarack - When Father Ignatius’ past catches up with him there is no way to escape the consequences for him and those around him. He must face facts regardless of how seriously they could affect his vocation as a priest. “TO LOVE A PRIEST” is the most controversial book in the Father Ignatius series and deals with questions on many peoples’ mind as yet unresolved by the Church. A gripping story of conflict between conscience and dogma, treating a delicate subject with compassion and forgiveness.
TamIng Rebellion by Hanna T. Corner - Kayla is abrasive and rebellious, getting herself kicked out of college for starting fights and buying bikes, so she's sent to a nunnery in order to correct her behavior. But she wasn't expecting nun Marlee, who has a voracious and suppressed sexual appetite sets out to spank disobedient Kayla into submission. Only available in Kindle and eBook Editions.
Trilogy of the Poor Horny Nuns by C. P. Waterman - A collection of stories comprising A Poor Nun's Endowment, The Poor Nuns in Revolt, and Return to the Poor Nuns, previously published during 2013-2014. Set in England, 1348: Mary is a country girl with a tomboy streak. When she reaches adulthood and finds herself excluded from the company of the boys with whom she grew up, she rebels and her father consigns her to a convent. On the journey there, she is approached by an old crone and granted one wish; on an impulse, she makes a strange choice: she wants a penis, so she can be accepted in the young men's group. But fate consigns her to the priory, where Mary unwittingly falls under the spell of the evil Sister Benedicta, mistress of the novices; when Benedicta discovers Mary's anatomical transformation, she makes her her own private sex-pet and Mary finds herself installed as a hermitess, confined to a private cell... where only Benedicta can come and use her to fulfil her own sexual desires any time she wishes. The local priest is interested, too. Is there no escape? A chance visit by a face from her lost past - and the simultaneous arrival of the Great Pestilence (The Black Death) - offer her the opportunity she needs to get away. Will she grasp the moment with both hands? And what then, when the known world is turned upside down? Two more fantasies follow; on both occasions, Mary cannot resist returning to her friends to enjoy more intimacy at the convent. And, with her peculiar attribute, the nuns cannot resist her. And nor can the priests.... This (poorly titled) compilation edition is only available in Kindle and eBook Editions.
Unholy Desires by D. Williams - “As a spiritual leader of the community, I have been looked at for many things. Advice, guidance and sometimes just friendship. You meet a lot of different people in all stages of life while working for the Church but never have I met someone like her. The almost instant desire she stirs in me that I can not shake is unnerving. She tests my restraints, and I find myself forgetting my vows but, even worse, wanting to forsake them. It’s been said many times God only gives the hardest battles to his strongest soldiers, but this is one war I’m afraid I will lose. A Priest is only a man that can resist his unholy desires.”
The Village Priest (#3 in A St. Francis Hill Mystery series) by Tina Proffitt - Father Christian Hyman, a village priest in St. Francis Hill, South Carolina, loves Misty Sumner with all his heart, yet his dedication to his calling means that he cannot ever have her. Christian must discover what has happened to his dear friend, why she's afraid to leave her house and won't even look out the window that overlooks the steep valley beyond. Misty's life is unrecognizable to her since moving out of her house and into a cottage that sits at the edge of town overlooking the valley. When she learns of a nun's death, thrown from the high abbey wall into the very woods surrounding her home, many years ago, she must put her detective skills to work to assist the spirit that haunts her. Silas Baecere was a nineteenth-century village priest in St. Francis who loved Ada Gardiner very much, yet could not have her either. Memories of his life with Ada haunt him day and night. Her familiar scent lingers whenever he is alone in the house they once shared. Silas must come to grips with the kind of man he wants to be or lose Ada forever. Ada Gardiner, a nun whose loyalty to Father Silas knows no bounds, finds herself inextricably in love with him, which means disastrous consequences for them both. Her work as a scribe has taught her many things about magical, healing herbs, and the people of her village rely upon her for her medicinal wisdom. It also makes some fear her and want to hurt her. Ada must face her worst fear, being separated from her love.
Vows We Break by Serena Akeroyd - Vows. Savio lives by them. Dreams. I exist in them. Obsessed with a picture, I'm in Rome to get over writer’s block, but more importantly, I've come to the Eternal City to find someone. Savio is a broken soul. A French-Italian priest in the capital of the Catholic world, he preaches religious tenets he no longer believes in. He’s also the man I'm looking for. A priest who makes sinners pay. Who makes them burn for the temptations into which they fall. I exist to tempt him, my sole purpose is to save him, and my end goal is Savio—in my bed. My heart. My life. He's a fallen soul, desperately in need of a future that takes him away from the sinners who deserve to lose their lives for the evil they reap. Can I make him break his vows, make him fall to save both our souls before the Devil can embrace us both?
The Wayward Priest by William N. McKelvy - Falling overboard, almost drowned, an attractive girl goes under a personality change. Her memory gone, only her survival instinct left, she is taken to a priest's African missionary. Lilly wakes up night after night in her bed exhausted, blood on her mouth and gown. She begs the Father to lock her up at night. The two of them fall in love. She crashes in a plane, he thinks she is dead. He goes to Ireland, leaves the priesthood, falls in love, then, then tragedy strikes. He returns to Africa dreaming of Lilly until one day ...
