I finally snapped and started to write the essay explaining the narrative details fandom fundamentally fails to grasp about the Port Mafia, Dazai and Akutagawa's relationship, and salvation; but then Tumblr's post editor crashed and ate the draft as I was typing.

This is because I am beloved by the universe, which understands that I am relentless by nature and sometimes too idealistic to register futility until after my efforts have ravaged me, and so it intervenes to coax me towards meaningful outlets for my immense capacity for perspective, wisdom, and tenacity.

I gotta say with regards to the Human Domestication Guide, the running joke that nobody has any idea what horses are is extra funny as someone who grew up around horses because I can totally see it happening thousands of years from now

Like seriously the extent that most people today know about horses ends at “they’re big and people ride them” most people don’t even know how their damn legs bend or the difference between a horse and pony XD

I can’t really blame them because horses aren’t particularly relevant in day to day life anymore and most people have probably never even met one in person but it’s still funny to me that I’ve met people who thought horses were bovines (yes really)

i love tbca! mariko is such a unique oc, and i love the way you reveal mariko’s own thoughts and personality through her own eyes and through other characters’. you have truly crafted such a unique take on an oc-insert and you have kept me on my toes the entire time reading through tbca. i can’t state it enough but the amount of appreciation i have towards the uniqueness of the plot is insane!!! you are a gem amongst writers, and i can’t wait to see where this story ends up at!!!

My husband got friend-dumped for making a joke about the Cybertruck explosion last week, because he “puts politics above people” and “thinks it’s funny when Trump voters die.” My reaction was that most Trump voters, as much as I despise them, don’t die in a Looney Tunes fashion that could have seriously hurt or even killed other people but luckily didn’t. Then I told my best friend and my mom about it, and their reactions were, respectively, “I think it’s funny when Trump voters die, since they happily support policies that will kill or ruin the lives of other people” and “I’m sorry, but anything to do with a Cybertruck is hilarious.”

I find it morbidly funny (in the most literal sense) that when it comes to animal death I always end up being the one in my family who basically plays the role of the coroner/mortician . I dispose of the mice from mouse traps and bury dead birds who fly into windows and confirm whether a pet rodent is dead, and put the body in the freezer until the weather is warm enough to dig a little grave, and I dig the grave too. Because I'm the least squeamish and know the most about animals as well as the processes of death. But I don't really mind if it makes it easier for everyone else
