My love for Wind Waker managed to pull me out of a long and deep depression pit long enough to do this. Started playing the HD version and its just so pretty, I finally actually wanted to draw something. So here's my OC Wish in WW style!

fic rec list (1/??? )
this is a fic recommendation list for whomever wants a good read. All of these are on AO3. I have not provided links, so just search them up!
If you do end up reading any of these, or really any fic in general, remember to leave the author comments!! They deserve them, esp because they do this for free and they deserve to know how beautiful their writing is and how appreciated they are.
My PSA: COMMENT ON FICS AND DONT TAKE AUTHORS FOR GRANTED
DC..
IMPORTANT NOTE I am not a religious fan where I only like a fic when it adheres to canon characterization or texts. I can enjoy fics even when they completely throw off what's actually canon and that's okay for me, but it might not be for you. So just keep this in mind and the back button exists for a reason if you don't like something.
Buy Back the Secrets by Sundiscus (incomplete)
Tim Drake and Kon El centered!! OH MY GODS. I could rave on and on about this fic all day but I'll have to keep it brief. I've reread at LEAST 5 times. It's brilliant. The writing, the plot, the characterizations!! They are incredible. If I had to use a phrase to describe it, it would be "identity shenanigans and timkon" but that simplifies the absolute masterpiece that it is SO MUCH
Executive Assistant to the Batman by heartslogos (complete)
Tim is basically Bruce Wayne's assistant and is desperately trying to avoid letting them know that he knows. This is complete crack, but it is hilarious. The writing is so funny and It's what I need after a bad day or anything tbh. It may not be completely true to characters or whatever, but it makes up for it a thousand times over in spirit and the laughs it's produced from me.
anything (not the title because literally ANYTHING) by IzzyMRDB
I can rave about them all day because the dc/batfam fics I have seen them right are all so delicious and I devoured them far too fast and momggg its just so good. and I love their writing style <3
Reverse Robin AU by yellow_cabellero (complete)
I CANNOT DO THIS SERIES JUSTICE WITH MY WORDS. IT is a must read for me. The writer writes spectacularly and the characterization, even though its a reverse robin, feels on point, especially considering the circumstances (Im a huge believer in circumstances shape a person's personality, which is what I think occurs beautifully in all of these fics). They're just so GOOD.
Also this author has a STEPH FIC that is stunning. 10/10. Steph is a character that doesn't get the appreciation she deserves, so this fic was especially more touching for me. It was terrific seeing her girl bossing in the 90s (IT ALSO FELT SO PERIOD ACCURATE CAN WE TALK ABOUT THAT). Not to mention, the author shows off character flaws in a believable manner and nobody is a Mary Sue and it's just EVERYUTHING IS JUST *chefs kiss* by them.
The Fishbowl by LordLuxury (complete)
This is Dick Grayson centered. THEY HAVE MADE A MASTERPIECE. I genuinely mean it. Dick is constantly trying to pull the family together, he is trying to be the glue as everything tries to go the opposite. LET THIS MAN HAVE HIS FAMILY. This had me in shambles. Bad Dad Bruce hurt me, but it was just so realistic. That's what gets me. The whole dynamics portrayed in The Fishbowl are so goddamn realistic and it feels so real. Everyone is flawed in their own way and its just... PLEASE READ IT I BEG OF YOU.
Love and Bruises by Acin_Grayson and Hoebiwan (complete)
Despite what the title may suggest, this is actually funny! Jason thinks Batman is abusing Bruce. And I just remember dying of laughter as I read this. Terrific! Would read and Will read again
Marvel (I am a movies fan so most if not all fics I recommend from here on out will be probably based on movies!)
Tennessee Outreach for Spider-Man and Friends by ciaconna
GREAT FIC. Harley (potato gun kid in one of the iron man movies for those who don't remember) gets an internship with Tony stark for college application reasons and its to help Spiderman. Peter Parker and Harley whateverhislastname is such a funny duo and they made the fic spectacular. Terrific writing omg.
Peter and the Jailbirds by beautifullights
I THINK THIS FIC HURT ME. I don't really remember much bc its been a year and a half, but I think my emotions remember because I feel mildly sad when I think about it. Peter is on the raft and bonds with the ex-avengers also on the raft. The premise of a teenager possibly spending the rest of his life in prison is terrible, but I swear this fic has funny moments and the conversations that occur are to die for because the WRITING. WHEW.
O Brother, Where Art Thou? by theskeptileptic
Tony survives and it's set after No Way Home. Where I'm pretty sure the only people dead are May and Pepper. Morgan saves the day by remembering her big brother (Im a sucker for big brother Peter arc). Peter is kind of a mini Tony in this one I think, which is such an interesting take. And it's such a coming home story and its just so beautiful.
Cross Overs:
Even Heroes Have the Right To Dream by Bounemr (complete)
mlb/dc crossover!! where marinate and Jon are retired superhero and go to college together! Great writing and plot with a good ending. Fluffy for the most part as far I as I can remember (it's been a year since I've read it so you know it's good if I can still remember)
Hired Hands by neighborhood_yogurt (incomplete)
Percy Jackson/ DC crossover!! It's been a while since I've read this one too but It's stuck with me. It's hilarious and I need to reread it but Percy is accidentally on Penguin's payroll because he's just a dumb blonde at heart, but it's okay we all love him. And Shenanigans occur. I don't remember exactly what happens so reminder to read this again for myself as well!
(IDK if any of these authors have tumblrs, if they do, someone please tag them and I will forever be in your debt)

Spoilers for the Tales of the Tmnt teaser trailer (This me talking abt my thoughts and stuff I noticed ;)
With screenshots baby let’s go.
Tumblr media
I’m not comparing it to Rise, but it did give off a kind of vibe. Especially with how Leo holds his sword and Raph’s fond older brother stare.
I’m also really glad they got rid of Splinter’s whatever they were, it was a little distracting on his movie design for me so I’m glad they simplified it.
Tumblr media
I think this might be the establishing shot of like a news report about how much the public loves the turtles now. Which is crazy bc imagine being an unsocialized shut in teenager and suddenly you have hundreds of adoring fans.
Tumblr media
Ma’am 💀 ain’t no way this grown ass woman made that sign deadass. They really took notes on how some fans act abt the turtles that’s crazy.
Fame really does go crazy bc ain’t no way she seriously wants to be married to a crusty teenager.
Tumblr media
They’re gonna get their ass beat
Tumblr media
Come on now, what did he expect…he had enough sense to rip it off the wall but not throw it…
Lowkey kinda hope they get called into the principals office after this fight because of how much property damage they caused
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The art style is wild, but I particularly like these two frames of Raph because they go hard like look at that.
Also maybe a Raph barn fight???
Tumblr media
He did say he was gonna kick 🤷
I think this might be the final blow to the fight of the bots just because of how dramatic and center stage it is
Tumblr media
The robots, most likely sent by TCRI, seem to have different materials cobbled together. So either they’re shit at making robots or they’re repairing themselves.
Or someone else repaired them with junk, maybe Donnie.
And why number your bots? Shit tagging systems tbh
Tumblr media
April is saying like always. Though I do wonder if she’s wearing that little headband bc she’s trying to mimic aliens. It would be the right amount of cringe fail for her personally
Another thing I’m noticing is while everyone else got several shots, Donnie is only seen with a group and not by himself like his brothers are. I think this is just the pilot episode we’re seeing clips of so I’m not too judgy about it but I do wonder what the hell Donnie is doing that he can pitch in and help with the fight.
April we only see once, which is fair, again first episode. I really do hope they explore her character more than what we saw in the movie.
That’s all for now, let me know if I missed anything because you know I eat that up

It was only a matter of time until Astro got translated into the Transformers Animated style; I didn't, however, think it would take me nine years to do it (last time I tried was in 2014). I can officially say trying to replicate the TFA style is a huge pain because of how angular and simplified it is, and how different from my inherent style that is.
(Astro herself is going to be ten years old in a few weeks as of posting this. Good God.)
Anyways! With finally having dragged my partner into reading MTMTE/Lost Light this past couple of months, my general interest in Transformers has been re-ignited. And uh, I will admit, I have never watched TFA and I haven't gotten around to doing much other than absorbing content passively through whatever sites. Hell I keep putting it off because I'm not sure I'm in the right mindset to enjoy it. I do know I love Shockwave across all continuities and TFA Shockwave's design is delightfully different and I have wanted to draw him, but also in some self-indulgent situations. Astro not having a TFA design kept me from that, and then my interests moved on. And now I'm back here. Yes I'm shallow. In the Animated 'verse, Astro is still a scientist but even more heavy on the reconnaissance and spying than in the Prime 'verse. She actually has the Mirage-esque ability to be invisible for periods of time, which helps greatly on that front. She's also very behind-the-scenes with her work, so she's more of a rumor than a known figure. ( As an aside, I hate drawing alt-modes so it's very likely that you won't ever see it again. I nearly deleted it from the sheet tbh )

i like to think spencer reid always has a hair tie on his wrist, whether it’s for his hair or his partner’s
we know he went through the jesus phase so i feel like before cutting his hair, he’d own colorful hair ties and rotate between them everyday! maybe have a few extras in his pockets for him or his girl friends…
even after chopping that beauty off, he’d have the hair ties on him out of habit, like it’s part of him now!!!
def learned to do hair styles like braids and whatnot, but that’s for no ones’ eyes but his 😭😭😭
i also feel like he’d either have the most complex hair routine or the plainest one, no in between (leaning more towards the complex, though)
- 🧺
hehe i completely agree bestie!!! i can literally envision it on his wrist right this very second !!!!
jesus phase haha i'm laughing at him rn BUT YES!! i loveeee the idea that he rotates the colors omg that's so cute. and absolutely he keeps extras in his pockets; his own colors, other colorful ones for garcia, and black for em and jj and any other lovely bau lady or his other friends!! and if you have hair that you like to tie up, he carries whatever type of hairtie that you like + that fits your hair type!!
hehe i loveeee the idea that he learned how to do braids and stuff, bonus if it's you his lover who taught him hehe. very adorable and then its for his and your eyes only <3
mmmm that's something i'd never thought about!! i very much see what you mean. i can't tell what sort of routine i think he's had tbh 🤔🤔 like even if it's on the simple side, its very specific either way. it bothers him when he can't do his exact hair routine!! i can definitely see if leaning towards complex, though he might be forced to simplify just because he has to travel so much. but i loveee the idea of him showing you the routine + you memorizing it and his favorite products so you can gift him or help him hehe <33

Hey if it isn’t too much- I was wondering how you draw hairy bodies?
I actively try to incorporate more diversity into my art style, and admittedly I’m also just unashamedly achillean and men
I specifically have a more cartoony style and admittedly staring at hairy cartoon men does help, but I’m still struggling with stylisation and making it look right
Thank for your time, and have a great day
OKOKOK I AM SOOO DAMN EXCITED TO ANSWER THIS...lemme give u my best nate tutorial
SO FIRST THINGS FIRST! what i do is take notice of the general shape of the body hair (usually the chest/tummy/etc) CUZ there is kind of a pattern goin on like the triangular-ish or rectangle-ish shape at the chest, funny line going down the belly, and usually there is more hair around that area going down to the pelvic reigon of the body (btw...the funny line of hair that starts at under the bellybutton is called a "happy trail" :) and its one of my fav things in the world to draw)
Tumblr media
SO what is the next step? SIMPLIFY! this works perfectly since u have a more cartoony style (me too 🤝 i get it)
Tumblr media
i just try to follow that pattern of body hair whenever i draw it, and for the hair itself i keep it to simple lines or squiggles! AND theres a little bonus one that i don't do enough tbh (the big fluffy...its really good...)
Tumblr media
and ofc if ur drawing bodies w little body hair u dont really have to follow the pattern too much, just vaguely LOL
Tumblr media
AND FOR backs and legs its pretty much just the same process, except that from what ive seen back hair is a bit more extreme anddd for the legs just do the fast line stroke or squiggle thang ( btw im not the best at drawing backs and uhh i rlly didnt feel like putting effort into the leg so KJSHDFS)
i think thats pretty much it but yea . hope this helps anon <3

Hey! Firstly, I love your art so freaking much like AHHHH Secondly, I have a few questions if you don't mind... one, how do you come up with your drawing ideas especially AUs??? Cause I swear they're so freaking creative, fun, and also pretty true to the characters. Two, how did you get so good at anatomy? Like, I am obsessed with the way you draw bodies and faces (and hair and...) Anyways, hope you have a lovely day and thank you for all your creations!
hello !! thank you so much !! I'm happy to answer! (this might be long)
For AUs, honestly a lot of them are spur of the moment things. Specifically IT!deku is something I came up with like 2 seconds after someone tried to scam me lmao. I was taking with a friend about it who suggested that the scammer and I should fall in love, and the bkdk gremlin that lives in my brain ran with it (The friend's also the one that came up with 'scammers to lovers')
A lot of my other AUs I do in a similar fashion to that, talking with friends about things or taking inspo from the world around me. The witch stuff was super inspired by Witch Hat Atelier! (the clothing and drapery in the manga are so breathtaking, I recommend everyone read it, it's a gorgeous series and the story is awesome)
I have a boat load more of AUs tbh, a lot of them are just me putting my favourite little guys into other series like Soul Eater, Madoka Magica,,,, Monsters Inc.
TLDR; just take whatever you see in front of you and make it bkdk (or whatever you're interested in)
As for anatomy, some of the things that really helped me are life-drawing and analyzing animation and dynamic posing!
I'd recommend anyone that wants to get better at drawing the human figure to go to a life drawing session, I have since I was like 15 lmao and it really helped with my understanding of the human figure!
Having someone real in front of you instead of photos is incredibly beneficial, but if you can't afford/don't have anywhere like that near you, there's sites online that share videos of life drawing sessions! Croquis cafe is one that I know, but I believe they only share videos through patreon now.
There's also tons of books online about figure drawing ! I've got a few posing and anatomy books of my own, I'd recommend Figure Drawing: Design and Invention by Michael Hampton (here's a pdf) as a starting place along with Morpho: Anatomy for Artists by Michel Lauricella
I also think studying from other artist's is incredibly important !! From old masters to artbooks from films to people online, everyone draws the human figure a little different and seeing how other artists have broken down and simplified the shapes and proportions of the body is super helpful ! Don't be afraid to study artists and their styles, cause it'll only serve to elevate your own !
Hope this helps!!

hi there!! i came across your art recently and love how you simplify forms for your style!! Do you have any tips on what you did to learn art and develop your current style? Did you take figure drawing lessons or just hyperfixate on an anime?? Any materials/exercises that were particularly helpful for learning how to draw humans? Thanks for your time!
thank u so much!!! i do have some handy info but im gonna put it under the cut so it doesnt clog up ppl's feeds bc it's gonna get a little long, hope this helps out!! ꉂ(ˊᗜˋ*)
ok so!! my top tip is to try out some life drawing classes! you'll often be expected to capture a full body gesture in 5-15 minutes which really helps you learn break the body down into its simplest forms since you wont have time to work on all the details. i only ever did a few sessions since they were part of a design course i was taking but even that alone definitely helped me streamline my process when it comes to planning out poses and making sure things arent looking too stiff
as for developing a style i honestly dont have a super clear answer bc i still find that i feel like my art is vERY very inconsistent, but even with that being said i do still have a few things that've helped personally!! easiest place to start is finding the tools you enjoy working with, for me i have a handful of brushes in csp that i tend to default to which helps form a little bit of consistency across my drawings (ofc dont be scared to branch out!! it's just handy to know what brushes work best for you). the other thing that's influenced my style is reading lots of comics and spending a lot of time looking at other artists' sketches, if you see a specific feature you like in their work try giving it a go yourself!! i remember noticing the contrast of soft and hard shadows in old oil paintings a few years ago n thinking 'ooh ive gotta try that' and ive been using it on my own art ever since. in the end your own style is greatly just a reflection of little things you've loved seeing in other peoples art and once you combine all those you end up with smth uniquely yours which i just think is awesome tbh
and as for shows n stuff that got me drawing, i dont have the coolest answer but as a kid i got super into drawing my friends as my little pony characters lmao i would spend every minute between classes drawing these stupid little rainbow horses and it actually really got me into picking out colour palettes and helped me build up that muscle memory which was what led into me drawing things that were a little more challenging. even if whatever motivates you to draw is considered kind childish or 'cringy' or whatever, dont stop drawing what you enjoy!! i wouldnt be drawing now without the years of pony doodles on homework as a kid and im glad i embraced it. i hope this can be helpful to you, so sorry for the long read but thanks for getting through it all!! good luck as dont be scared to dm me if you ever have any questions, i'll always do my best to help out :D

my natural inclination has and always will be towards being verbose & utilizing more complicated words with more specific meanings than their more generalized counterparts but like. that's not conducive to actual communication outside of an academic setting....which is the purpose of language. like that isn't to say that you have to always simplify your language, or that the general population is too stupid to develop the ability to understand it.
but like simplicity helps you get your general points across a lot easier which can then expand the dialogue to introducing more complex words and concepts naturally instead of just....hitting people with complicated language in contexts where they don't typically fit and completely turning them away from engaging with you.
and even still, no matter how much i make it a point to be very specific in my language (whether more simple or complex) to make sure i am conveying exactly what i intend, people have always misunderstood or manipulated what i've said into something else. that's just....the nature of communication tbh. it doesn't matter what you do it's gonna happen. i've just overall found it easier to mitigate it by simplifying my communication style, even if it seems counterintuitive

Okay so this is GM anon, to answer your questions: as a friend group we definitly lean towards sci-fi and adventure, as in we enjoy movies in those genres so we know and enjoy the conventions thereof. Horror too, but in the style of Scream watch-alongs, or watching scary movies to make fun of them (and hide that you're feeling creeped out) no actual like gore or serious contemplative horror. I don't really know if it's better to go with more serious of more silly games, I was def looking at the more silly stuff bc the serious ones feel really awkward to me (but that might be informed by the fact that most serious RPG's I've heard are longform? The actors get really deep and attatched to their characters and I can't really picture feeling that intense? But maybe I'm just biased to think that short games are always more comedic and silly?). I think I'd prefer more rules/guided games to start with, I think it'll help with getting started and not freezing up when you can't think of something. I think puzzle games or like a heist or mystery sound great! Social interaction too, that's def one of the plus points of RPG's and games over watching something, that you're spending the whole time talking to eachother. Tbh I really don't know what would be best to focus on, I'm just spitballing, I just think something with a clear goal. We usually have at least a couple of hours time together, but it's not necessary for a game to last that whole time. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this!! I'm in a different timezone, it's actually pretty late for me so if I don't answer any follow up questions, it's bc I'm sleeping LOL
hi again gm anon! glad u did not wait up for me bcos it took me a while (i have...... many games), but here is a handful of recs for you!
first up, i think generally caltrop core games might be p good for a beginner; it's a very simple d4 system with very structured rules (how much depends on which game, but generally it's turn-based with set actions to choose from). there's still room for roleplaying & improv ofc, but it's easy to keep a handle on the table. there's been a caltrop core game jam with lots of submissions before, and ofc u can browse the tag on itch, but something like crystal souls or cursed confections might be fun for your group!
futuristic scifi 'group of thieves/scoundrels/rebels/etc do a mission' games are also very popular (i own like........ 20? 30? some are cyberpunk and some are spaceships and just. lot of em.) and also generally have a decent structure to work with (altho less turn-based than caltrop core, usually). a lot of them are geared towards longer campaigns, but can be done as a one-shot if you ignore some of the between-missions stuff. or do it as a post-mission cooldown thing. u kno. (lots of them are sorta forged in the dark based, but the slightly less complex ones i think are good for beginners; fitd can get really involved, but there are also simplified ones!)
you might enjoy offworlders, off the grid: resurgence, xanadu, subway runners, what's so awesome about hacking the planet, weasel overdrive, make our own heaven, bubblegum wizards 2, or dwindle.
and finally, i do love a dungeon crawl; keeps everything to a relatively small & defined space, but you can get weird with it (npcs in a dungeon? yeah! timespace fabric folding in a dungeon? yeah!) and it's a place to do all the puzzles and riddles and inexplicable creature encounters you generally don't get a chance for in a 'here you are in A World' sorta game. also, easy to keep short (my game sessions tend to run 4+ hours for oneshots, but in a dungeon crawl you can just. skip to the last room lmao.) games designed for dungeon crawling tend to lean more horror (if they don't lean..... d&d, basically), but i tried to pick ones where you can either take out most horror elements, or choose to play them lighthearted and chill/campy. you may like crwlr, the dark below, or the empty house.
.......and that's some basic game recs for your group; should be fine for 3-4 players, or even for one-on-one play if you can't get everyone together, altho that's not the ideal. as far as games specifically designed as two-player games, i know there are a bunch of them on itch, but most of them are gmless (usually asymmetrical gmless, but still gmless), and many of them lean heavily emotional (altho some are silly!). i'm not sure if you have different requirements in mind for a two-player game; lmk and i'll see what i can do? altho probably not until after this weekend, i got some stuff to work on for school T_T (this is....... part of why i'm not actively looking to gm rn, even tho i waaaaaant to. too many school.)
oh also podcasts! i know there's more than this around, but you can always check out oneshotpod for shortform games of many kinds! international podcast month also has some oneshot ttrpg episodes; i gmed a game of dwindle this year that was lots of fun! i'll poke around for more sometime, but for now i rly gotta get some sleep lol.

...What do you mean by "LA 2019 and EoW have the same game title font"? They're... they're clearly different? Not as drastically as, say, WW fom SkSw, but still noticeable enough. One of them is literally a serif font while the other one is not??
Typeface nerdery aside, the general aesthetic of a flat, monochrome logo is just the general trend for minimalism popular in modern logo design, for better or for worse. It's a good thing in general! A well-designed logo should be easy to reproduce and recognise in all sizes, colors and contexts, that's, like, a core principle. I haven't looked into official LoZ merchandise or whatever other peripherals, as I wasn't exposed to the franchise at all until 2019-ish, but I am more than certain that Nintendo already made the simplified versions of some logos to a degree, maybe printed on some sort of a limited-edition console or boxart. That being said, I find TFH's stylized embossing look would've made for a perfect middle ground between the two styles.
Keeping the creativity of the lettering for the game titles would be nice and help the overall logo readability, that much is true. Sharing the font for sub-series, like BoTW/ToTK duology, is actually good in that regard IMO, it's a clever bit of branding, in the same vein as changing the series title color is/was. I wish FS, FSA and MC were all green tbh.
Even outside of its practicality, I personally find the new logo style appealing in its own right. My favorite part is probably the tendency to make the Master Sword or the main gimmick object understated and distinct in their silhouette, and also uniform in their placement. Otherwise the whole logo gets too busy and slips into Final Fantasy territory, and by god do I hate (most) FF logos. I'm looking at you, TP and the Oracles; ToTK is also on thin ice, but it's at least saved by the limited palette - imagine if this logo had shading and gradients. On another note: the choice to make the series title weathered that was a nice shoutout to BoTW's story still kind of makes sense for the whole series, given its long legacy; maybe not for every game - again, that's where TFH's logo style would come in handy, - but in general it still spirit tracks, so whatever.
To be fair, I'd love to try and redesign old game logos in this modern style sometime, maybe even include some choice spin-offs! That sounds like a fun challenge to tackle, especially drawing the simplified silhouettes for the gimmick objects - I don't think I can personally improve on the laconicity seen in the artwork for the Spirit Train much; ST has a very tasty logo overall, even the concept logo was pretty.
Oh, and also! It'd be super interesting to have this discussion in regards to the Japanese logos, as those have to pack twice as much info in the same space. I wish I had enough familiarity with Japanese to fully appreciate the typefaces, but even then they make the difference between LA 2019 and EoW's logos way more pronounced than in English. And don't get me started on how WW's Japanese logo has the beautiful lettering that carries the swirl motif present throughout the game! No offence to the modified version of Sherwood font seen on the English logo, but I am a huge sucker for WW's swirlies. If it wasn't for the fact that KoRL blends a little with the already red series title, I'd call it the best Zelda logo. But then again, I am biased.
Let's talk about the Zelda logos!
Like many others, I noticed that we are heading into a new direction with zelda logos. The days of shiny red zelda logo are over. Solid-colour, weathered zelda logo is the new standard. I like it a lot! My only complaint is: the game title font doesn't stand out like before.
Tumblr media
After Majora's Mask, you start to see that every zelda game has the standard red logo, but the game title has a drastically different font that matches the game's aesthetic. BOTW and TOTK are fine as they are since they are sequels, but what about EOW?
I was always imagining the next mainline zelda game to have a new font. It was subconscious and I only realized it after seeing the new title. I was *slightly* sad. I will get used to the new direction. It's not a big deal, but I did find the unique game titles to be charming.

What I like drawing about my faves [6-28-2023]
A lot of my posts here are just me posting from my old notes and editing and compiling them more neatly, so I decided to do a post on what I like drawing about my faves. I decided to talk about what I like drawing about Idate and Judar’s designs :)
Idate (WATGBS AU)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(+) His spiky hair. Idate’s design is pretty much the only time where I actually enjoy drawing spiky hair. As my friends Snow and Cinna said, Idate's hair has more obvious shapes to follow, and big shapes are usually easier to follow. His design is very nicely shaped.
(+) His eyes. They're easy for me to draw. He has pointed cat pupils in his OG design in Funa-verse, so that’s something I’m aware of, but when I tried, it just didn't look good with my style. So I just use a similar eye shape like I do with the rest of my meow meow mf faves.
But I make the space between the pupils and eye whites wider to make it still look like him though. He still looks good and recognizable as Idate, so it's fine. I just prefer drawing and stylizing them this way cuz it fits better with my style personally.
I do sometimes draw the thinner pupils though when I feel like it fits the mood/drawing (ie. Chibis, side/profile views, certain expressions) and if it turns out good with my style, so I try my best to incorporate it when possible.
(+) The canon eyebags and blue eyeliner in our redesign slays!!! I also love the scars we added to his design, it really suits him. And the star and black sun earrings I added suit his character so well too, heehee.
(+/-) Again, I use the same eye style for most of my meow meow mf faves, just with some differences in order to fit them better. But sometimes even little variations make the drawing/style look different. It can make my drawing process/redrawing take longer especially if there's a specific look I want to achieve.
(-) His suit/clothes. I don't like drawing things with tight clothing folds, cuz I feel like they rely less on shapes and curves compared to baggy/loose clothing folds, imo.
Judar (Magi)

(+) His eyes. I love the rings in his eyes so much. It makes them look unique and it also adds to his unhinged gremlin vibes.
(+) He canonically has eyeliner!!! Slay!!! In the Magi anime, it’s purple. In the manga, it’s red. Ohtaka drew this one tegaki doodle before (back on her now deleted blog?) of him wearing lipstick. I'm so glad Judar's makeup habits and eyeliner/lipstick are canon :) Zooming at the speed of light MY SONNN
(+) I love the shape of his hair and braids. The way Ohtaka draws his braids just looks so good and it's such a clever way to draw his braids tbh. It helps simplify the design a lot, especially when you have to draw them everytime. It looks like a galaxy or tornado shaped in some illusts... I really love it.
His braids have a very unique shape since they’re based off the shape of a scorpion’s tail, according to Ohtaka in the Magi guidebook. I have a bunch of rambles in my notes about how much I adore Judar’s braid in his design, and the way it’s simplified and shaped.
(+/-) I love the hanfu that I chose in my design for him, but it can also be complicated to draw everytime. It looks pretty af though, and at least the shapes and wide clothing folds are simple, since I enjoy drawing baggy/loose clothing folds. I’d like to get used to drawing hanfu quickly ^^
I drafted a few hanfu designs for Judar before :) But I could sketch out a bunch more designs in the future. I'm planning ideas in my head for the hanfu that I wanna redesign for Judar. I drafted some ideas a couple days ago. I know I want hanfu with black, white, red, and gold colours for sure.
(+/-) Same thing again with the eye style and how even little differences can result in a different look. Despite me using a similar eye style, my Judar drawings tend to look slightly different between each other, and it can take longer to redraw stuff especially since I usually have a specific look I'm aiming for with my drawings.
(+/-) His spiky hair. His hair is kinda similar to TYL Xanxus' hair (KHR) so it's usually simple enough for me to draw. It's just that, sometimes it's easier for me to draw, sometimes it's harder for me to draw, due to the shape of the hair spikes.
(+/-) Admittedly, drawing his braids can take some time to refine... I'd most likely draw a cloud/galaxy shape for his braids. I really love how Kama (FGO) has galaxy coloured hair, so I think it’d be fun to colour his hair like that ^^
(-) I hate his canon clothes so much. The stereotypical, bastardized take on South Asian/Desi clothes with this outfit design literally makes me perish. No, I'm not drawing that ever.
I want to perish innerly everytime I remember that he's literally been drawn in changshan (male equivalent to cheongsam/qipao) and hanfu before, and it would literally fit him more since he’s CN-inspired too. It’d look so much more gorgeous than that horrible stereotyped mess of an outfit he wears in canon, and yet...
Baby bingus with severely bad fashion taste on purpose. He can still be a whore, just in pretty clothes instead. I'm putting him in proper clothes, I’m currently doing drawings of him in hanfu for him cuz I CANNOT STAND his bad fashion taste and clothes in canon. Judar, get your ass over here!!! The cat mom and cat basket carrier owner’s gonna dress you, smh
Friend: Yassss. When you have specific things you like about drawing a character you are attached now /hj
Hanfu
Me: I’m currently taking Japanese classes and I also bought a black/red hanfu too!!! Judar colours 🖤 ❤️
(I’m just gonna call it the Judar colours hanfu hehe)

It’s what I based my Judar drawings off of  🖤 ❤️
I’d change the patterns to fit him more tho
It’s a rough sketch for now so I still need to refine the lines
Oh yeah and I need to give him gold/red hanfu earrings. I’ll put that down as a reminder for myself

And here’s the photos I took of my hanfu when it arrived!

THE COLOURS ARE SO PRETTY AAA
The quality and colours of the clothes are really good, just like in the preview photos
Now I match with my son. Weh weh weh /pos /endearing
Friend: Nice 👀💖
Friend 2: OOH INCH RESTINGG 👀 👀 Me: It's this!!! It's the hanfu I based my Judar hanfu doodles off of 🥺 ❤️ It's in Judar colours. Black and red and white 🖤 ❤️  I was super excited to get something that reminds me of my fave 🥰 🤭 ❤️ ✨
Friend: Yass the colors look so amazing!! I love black and red combo 😭 💖
Me: SAME BLACK/WHITE/RED SUPREMACY
Friend 3: Cool! :3
Pretty!!
Friend 4: OOOO both awesome >:3
Me: Yeah I'm excited for it! Cuz I wanted to level up my Japanese and it's hard to get motivation studying alone. And the classes seem promising!
It's also too easy to fall into the fashion hole and collecting traditional clothes but I definitely want more in the future 🥰🤭💞
Friend 3: Oooh I see!!!
Me: It's because I really wanted to get my hands on the hanfu that inspired the clothes I imagine for my fave. I imagine he wears something similar, probably just with different patterns and details
Ohtaka’s Judar sketches and various manga panels
Thinking about Ohtaka’s Judar sketches Lumen showed me before...  Lumen showed me Judar in changshan and hanfu and JP traditional clothes. Society if these were his canon outfits

I'm forever gonna mourn this. I can't believe he wears that horrible stereotypical mess of an outfit in canon instead
Rambles with Cinna
Thinking about Ohtaka's Judar sketches... Society if these were his canon outfits
Me: The first one of him wearing changshan slaps so bad. I want to incorporate those shirt cuff patterns into my own hanfu design for Judar.
Friend: YOO THAT FIRST ONE IS GORGEOUS The throne one is gorgeous
Me: Yeahhhh... His outfit is gorgeous in the throne one, but he looks so miserable though 😭 Understandable though.
Friend: YEA HE DOES... I think it makes the illustration even cooler though I also like how the 1st one highlights his chest shapes
Me: Yeah I was thinking that too! Like Judar is super twinky but still I like how it highlights his chest And I think it fits the illust. It adds.
Me: The hanfu I'm drawing doesn't really emphasize his chest, but it's fine, I can have a bunch of alt outfits for him Imagine Judar suddenly getting more outfits in retaliation to haniwa sausage Alibaba telling him he always dresses the same in the Vol. 28 - Ch. 278 omake
Friend: Yeah valid!! LMFAO YEAH Judar: See!! I don't always dress the same!! >:(
Me: LMAOOO YEAH
CUTE...
Me: I default to the black/red ruqun for Judar's hanfu design, but yeah, I can also make extra designs too :) Also that first pic Ohtaka drew for Judar, the changshan one, it looks kinda reminiscent to Viet Áo dài. Except on Áo dài, the slits of the dress are higher
Though I guess that’s inevitable since CN, JP, KR, and VN cultures all existed in the same cultural sphere and did cultural exchanges. There are similarities but deep differences too
Friend: YEAHH I see...
Friend 2: I’m here for the colors SKSKSKSK
Me: Yeah the colours slap so bad For Judar I was thinking of designing him with a black, white, red, gold hanfu! Or at least with that colour scheme. Like black/red hanfu with white and gold patterns or accessories
Friend: AGREED.
OOH....
Me: Judar usually wears purple eyeshadow but purple eyeshadow and red eyeliner in the coloured one of baby Judar... I usually draw him with red eyeliner, cuz he has red eyes and I like the contrast of red eyeliner against the rest of his design
Me: KSDKDKSKDSK
Friend: I see.... neato YEAH
Rambles with Cinna, Jaqui and Snow
Cinna said this but there's so much variety to hanfu and huafu (Chinese traditional clothing) that it's not even that hard to find traditional clothing that'd suit his vibes. Like bro, he'd slay harder in hanfu! Not that stereotyped bastardized mess of an outfit he wears in canon
Ohtaka has drawn him in hanfu (when he was younger) and changshan (the male version of the cheongsam/qipao) before too. Society if these were his canon outfits. Like these actually look really good. Like the changshan and hanfu/throne one are sooo gorgeous
Some of my faves have such bad fashion taste it’s embarrassing to look at DHADHSHSDHHDS
Judar literally dresses like a slut in canon LMAO. Dude is slut certified, he's pretty much half-naked
I forgot what exactly you said but Jaqui, I think you and Lumen have both said something along the lines of like, “This is me. I think Judar is cool and iconic as a character. And if we’re talking about design it’s one of my favourites, but I bully him because he’s half-naked” WHDSHSDHDHS LMAO
I’m gonna bully my son /pos /endearing
Sorry I won't let my faves have bad fashion taste in peace cuz I don't wanna have to draw that shit. I'm the cat mom, so I will dress them up.
Friend: My first thought seeing your Judar hanfu drawing was that this is the opposite of whorifying. You are purifying him. He isn't half naked anymore DJFFJHF 😂 I love the red eyeliner and his expression so much. He looks really pretty 👀 👌
Now he can have a better fashion style DSFDFDD
Me: HELP LMAOOO He can still be a whore, just in pretty clothes instead. I'm putting him in proper clothes cuz I can't stand his bad fashion taste and clothes in canon. Judar get your ass over here!!!
Also thank you! I adore giving my faves eyeliner. It's such a nice touch. For Judar I was thinking of designing him with black, white, red, and gold hanfu... I had that above hanfu in mind for him. I love the hanfu I picked out for him, it suits him so much better imo. It even has his colour scheme. Black and red are his thematic colours, so this puts more red on his design
Because I was brainstorming for ideas... Hmm, I want a black/red hanfu for him... And I was wondering which parts of the ruqun I wanted to be red or black. I ended up choosing the one with the red blouse (襦, ru) and a black wrap-around skirt (裙, qun) since that hanfu I chose is perfect for him tbh. But the reverse, and also different colour combinations could also work!
Friend 2: Whore (but with clothes on this time) ALSO SO VALID FIX HIS NAKED ASS
Friend 3: HELP YOU COVERED HIM UP This is what Takama did to Idate as teenagers smh /j
Let Judar be a slut and have bad fashion choices!!1!1!11!! /j
Me: Reminds me I need to continue this drawing soon... I love the eyes/expression and hanfu I chose for him
Me: SNOW LMAO
Teen Idate being a hoe until Takama said no is so funny to me LMAO
So now he just wears clothes that cover him up Modern AU Judar would wear a crop top and techwear... At least that combo actually looks good.
Friend 3: He feels like he would wear the smallest crop top ever but wear the biggest pants man has ever seen
Me: LMFAO Yeah he has those vibes

hi! im kind of new to law of assumption and old to law of attraction. law of assumption is not a hard concept but im a bit confused. i find myself reacting to the 3D too much and like i find it hard to persist? what do i do to make persisting easier? i think it’s because i don’t know much about what im getting into?? all i know is affirm and persist and etc. i hear things like time is an illusion, the 3D is an illusion, circumstances don’t matter, we are all gods of our reality. but WHERES the proof?? i can’t blindly follow people’s success stories because im not them and if we are truly the gods of our realities, doesn’t that mean someone else can manifest failure in mine? like i want to use law of assumption and i want to believe to get what I want fast and easily BUT i want to know how it works and that im not following a delusion to make myself feel better and in the end, I am just left with disappointment and failed attempts at manifesting that left me with the consequences of my actions. ive been in the community for almost 2 years and i don’t think ive ever gotten results. i am not usually agitated but it’s exhausting. i affirm and persist and nothing shows up and im worried im doing it all wrong so i ask and now I’m even affirming wrong?? I know manifestation is supposed to be easy and not feel like a chore but how can it not when everything I desire is of so much importance to me. I can even dm you, just please help me so I can actually manifest what I want. I’ve done self concept but I keep breaking. I don’t even know what affirmations to use to combat my limiting beliefs. Tbh I’m tired. I feel like if someone explained to me how this works and how to do it with no mistakes and how to keep faith in the unseen, I could actually get what I want. I keep failing and failing because I affirm and persist but I affirm wrong or I have a limiting belief that hasn’t been uncovered yet. I’m so exhausted and I just want to get what I want. I just feel like if someone told me how it works and exactly what to do, I wouldn’t be so confused and find it hard to persist.
Hey, so I just want to say that I really understand you. It’s funny how as I read your ask for the first time it really stood out to me how it was reflecting my current state at that moment so thank you for sending it. I will try my best to answer your questions but I'm still figuring this stuff out myself so I'm also just going to recommend some material that should help. I’ll put all the links at the end of the reply.
I have broken up your ask into several different topics and I’ll be addressing each one separately so please bear with me here.
This is the longest reply I've ever written so the rest is under the cut
law of assumption is not a hard concept but im a bit confused.
i think it’s because i don’t know much about what im getting into?? all i know is affirm and persist and etc.
I just feel like if someone told me how it works and exactly what to do, I wouldn’t be so confused and find it hard to persist.
The first and most important thing I want to say to you is that you should really learn from the source material, which as far as I’m concerned here is Neville Goddard. I know there are other teachers like him but he’s the main source most blogs and youtubers make their content from. And frankly a lot of posts on tumblr seem to really simplify and reduce things to the point where you get to this idea that it’s all just affirming and persisting which I really can’t agree with. That’s a conclusion one can reach after learning this stuff, processing it, experimenting with it and realizing what works best for them. But there are certainly other factors involved in the process, whether the person was aware of them or not. This also goes for youtubers and coaches in general. All these people are speaking based on their own experiences with the law. Through the lenses of their own beliefs, limitations, etc. So it’s only natural that they will sound different from each other and their message and style might not resonate with every person in the same way. Which is why you’re not supposed to just accept everything you hear or read at face value. Apply it, experiment with it and make your own conclusions.
like i want to use law of assumption and i want to believe to get what I want fast and easily BUT i want to know how it works and that im not following a delusion to make myself feel better and in the end, I am just left with disappointment and failed attempts at manifesting that left me with the consequences of my actions. ive been in the community for almost 2 years and i don’t think ive ever gotten results.
Most of us come into contact with the law from a negative situation and looking for a quick fix, and what we end up finding is a whole lot more than we ever bargained for. These teachings challenge everything we have ever known and accepted as absolute unchangeable truths in the world. And we are also dared to accept the responsibility that we were the cause of our entire lives?! It’s a lot to take in. You can’t be one foot in and one foot out. You’re trying to manifest something but you’re not seeing results. If you’re looking for results then you weren’t truly committed to living in the end and you haven’t really changed. You must notice the change within first, before the outside world can reflect that. You just give yourself what you want in your mind, and you keep doing it, day in and day out, with complete disregard for what your outer senses are telling you, until it hardens into a fact.
i find myself reacting to the 3D too much and like i find it hard to persist? what do i do to make persisting easier?
Battling with the 3d can certainly be painful and it just turns into a vicious cycle, because the more attention you pay to something, the more it gets perpetuated in your reality and in your experiences. I’ll be honest with you, sometimes I struggle with this as well. If anything, at least remember to prioritize your feelings at every given moment. If you notice that you’re feeling bad / reacting negatively to the 3d, stop and ask yourself: what do I want? or what do I want to feel?
Usually when I do that my mind automatically shows me the answer and then if I can enter the reality (within me, in my mind with my thoughts and feelings) where those things are true, suddenly that circumstance I was just reacting to doesn’t matter anymore. Because I feel fulfilled within now.
Just start allowing yourself to have what you want, no matter what. Practice putting yourself first, before anything else, before the circumstances around you, before what others might say or do. Even if the 3d looks bad right now, you deserve to feel what you want, you don’t have to keep putting yourself down because you haven’t seen an outside change yet. And the truth is that you won’t see a change if you keep watching the 3d and taking score from it. Because it can only change after you do. Because it’s a reflection of you. Allow yourself to feel that relief and satisfaction, in your imagination, everyday. Make it a habit and little by little you will have changed your mindset, entering a new reality.
Everything in your 3d world is an illusion in the sense that it’s not the truth. And this is because everything that you experience with your senses, in your 3d world is a direct reflection of you. You are everything, and you are everywhere you go and every person you meet. You can only ever experience yourself, nothing else. Nothing exists outside of you. Everything begins and ends with you.
and if we are truly the gods of our realities, doesn’t that mean someone else can manifest failure in mine?
You are God of your own reality. There’s only you in your reality. Nothing else and no one else. So everything and everyone that shows up is under your influence. IN YOUR REALITY. You can’t really access other people’s realities or inner worlds, and likewise they can’t reach yours. Even what you perceive as things outside of you pertaining to other people’s lives and experiences are still coming in through your own lenses, of the concept you have of that person, of the expectations and beliefs you have about them. This is why you shouldn’t bother with anything but yourself. Because it’s a waste of energy. Because everything you will ever perceive will come through you first. You can’t experience anything but yourself, your beliefs and your expectations. If you believe others can influence your reality then you are living from fear and you are giving your power away.
i hear things like time is an illusion, the 3D is an illusion, circumstances don’t matter, we are all gods of our reality. but WHERES the proof??
Instead of trying to manifest things in order to “see proof”, just let things happen and watch yourself during the process. Start really paying attention to what you’re thinking and feeling on a daily basis. Notice that your thoughts and reactions come from a certain state of being. Notice how people act in ways that you expect them to, because “that’s just how they are”.No, it’s because that’s the concept you hold of them in your reality, and they treat you according to the concept you hold of yourself. By doing this you will start to realize the connection between what has shown up in your life so far, and the person you were identifying with within. And when I say identifying with, I don’t mean something like an affirmation such as “I’m confident”. Your identification and basically your self concept comes from your perspective, the way you see things, the way you react to things and the way you act, the thoughts you have and what you accept as true. Those will show you who you really are.
i can’t blindly follow people’s success stories because im not them
The thing with success stories is that as much as they can be motivational, the process and the factors are always the same. They succeeded because they managed to change their mindset, they entered a new reality (within), they changed their dwelling place (the state of being they return to the most) and their outer reality simply reflected that change. Their circumstances are irrelevant and the only thing setting them apart is the techniques they used and how long it took for them to actually shift their mindset and accept the new reality they wanted. Techniques are not really that relevant because they only serve to aid you into moving states. So at this point it’s really just about what works best for you.
i affirm and persist and nothing shows up and im worried im doing it all wrong so i ask and now I’m even affirming wrong??
There’s no such thing as affirming wrong. And please take affirming off the pedestal. It’s just a technique and you don’t need to use it if it’s troubling you. Affirmations are just thoughts you would be having if you were living in the end. So their purpose is only to help make you feel like you are living in the wish fulfilled. There’s no point in affirming all day long if you keep feeling like you’re in the same old shitty reality. Again it’s the same thing I’ve been saying before. You can’t affirm for two opposite things at the same time and get the result you want. Use affirmations as much as you like but watch yourself for the rest of the time.
The reason this isn’t a trying process is because you’re not attempting to do anything to get something. You are simply being in a different way. You are changing your mind, changing your thoughts, choosing better feelings. This is a lifestyle change. If you accept the law, your entire perception changes. Nothing is ever the same as it used to be. This can be a hard pill to swallow but at some point you gotta be honest with yourself. There is no trying. There is only doing and there is only being.
i am not usually agitated but it’s exhausting.
I’m so exhausted and I just want to get what I want
You’re exhausted because you keep going back and forth between what you want and what has shown up. You need to pick one side and stick to it. You need to dive so deep into the feeling of what you want to the point where thinking the opposite feels unnatural. I know you don’t wanna hear this but thinking you’re doing something wrong really is also getting in your way. Think about it this way: you’re in the end goal, you’re there, it’s done, you got it. Would you be thinking about ANY of this stuff if that was the case? Would you be doubting and having all these fears and looking around everyday to make sure it’s still there? We both know you wouldn’t.
You just can’t have it and wonder where it is at the same time. You have to stick to the end goal and reject anything that contradicts that.
I know manifestation is supposed to be easy and not feel like a chore but how can it not when everything I desire is of so much importance to me
People say manifesting is easy and fun because you’re just supposed to satisfy yourself within by giving yourself what you want. If it feels like a chore then you're not giving yourself what you really want. You are focusing on what you think you should be doing and you are also keeping yourself hostage to your unwanted circumstances. If your desires are so important to you then stop putting conditions on them, stop looking for excuses to deny yourself of them. Get drunk in the feeling and the knowing of their fulfilment. Let go of all the doubts and fears, turn your back on your senses telling you it’s not here yet. Be stubborn and stop taking no for an answer.
You’re coming from a place of: I have all these unwanted circumstances and I want to have xyz instead, but no matter what I do, things aren't changing.
If you had xyz by now, would you still be repeating the unwanted circumstances in your head? Would you be thinking about them? Would you be reacting to them? Would you be identifying with this version of yourself that can’t get what you want?
No! You would be living your life, doing the things you enjoy, your duties and responsibilities, resting in the knowledge that you got that desire. It’s a reality now. It’s part of your life. You’d be living from that perspective.
You're keeping the unwanted stuff in place by reaffirming them, by looking at it everyday and going “yep, still here!”, you’re still accepting it as true for you. You can’t keep your attention on something without getting more of it. You need to die to the unwanted reality. Never to be seen again.
I’ve done self concept but I keep breaking.
Self concept is not a technique that you do once a day. Self concept is who you are. It’s how you behave and what you think all the time, every day, all day. It's what you believe and accept as true for you in all aspects. I think this community has been breaking up the law into bits and pieces, as if there are all these separate factors and steps you need to take, and it’s done more damage than good because it’s actually literally all the same thing, it’s all connected. Once you change through the means of one aspect, the other aspects change automatically. Self concept, mental diet, states, it’s all connected, they all lead to the same destination, you. Neville uses these terms interchangeably, to get his point across in the best way he sees fit at that moment, but he’s always talking about the same thing. So bottomline is that if you “keep breaking”, then you’re still in the process of change, you’re going from one state to the other, from unwanted to wanted. Back and forth. You’re still falling for the illusion of the 3d world and you’re still feeling the pull of your old story. You need to take a stand and decide that enough is enough. No longer accept what you don’t want. You’re the only one making the choice here. No one is forcing you to stay in the unwanted mindset but your own habits and comfort zone.
I don’t even know what affirmations to use to combat my limiting beliefs. Tbh I’m tired. I keep failing and failing because I affirm and persist but I affirm wrong or I have a limiting belief that hasn’t been uncovered yet.
Look, there’s nothing to combat here. There’s no war going on. It’s all just you. You don’t have any blocks or limiting beliefs you need to overpower. This isn’t a good perspective to hold. You ARE the power. I fought these types of statements for a long time but I can understand it now. You need to stop focusing on limiting beliefs or blocks. Stop thinking AND believing that you have problems that are getting in your way and that you need to overcome them. By holding this perspective, you’re only going to create more problems to overcome. Remember what I’ve been saying that you’re in the end now? Are there any blocks in the end? When the wish is fulfilled? I don’t think so and neither do you! I want you to take the challenge to declare to yourself that you no longer have any limitations. It’s all gone! You’re free now! I want you to wake up everyday and before you get out of bed, you remind yourself that hey, all that stuff is gone now! Nothing to worry about anymore! How good is that?!
I feel like if someone explained to me how this works and how to do it with no mistakes and how to keep faith in the unseen, I could actually get what I want.
You keep the faith in the unseen by believing and trusting in yourself. If you accept that you can do anything, that you deserve what you want, that you are the operant power and that everything is coming FROM you, then you know all you need is yourself. Idk it truly is a leap of faith, you need to make a choice. Do you want to live by what is outside of you, or by what’s within you? If you accept the law as true, then you have no choice but to start living by what’s within you. If you’re still sitting there thinking that your world is ruled by the circumstances outside of you then you don’t believe a tiny bit in any of this stuff. You’re truly wasting your time if you hold that perspective in place.
Okay I hope this whole essay I spent hours on helps! Now let’s get you those recs!

Anon said: Would you draw SukuFushi? (Sukuna x Fushiguro)
maybe? *thinking face* if I ever got an idea for it, why not. I find sukuna’s obsession with fushiguro entertaining so I don’t count fanarts for it as impossible haha
Anon said: I looked and I couldn't find if you've answered this already, so apologies if you did, but how do you draw your faces? I always struggle with face shape and yours are always super good with really expressive features! Anyway, thanks so much I love your art <3
HMMMMMMMM how do I do that indeed, the basics are honestly what you’d find on any basic tutorial about drawing a face (circle, cross in the middle of it, build the face around that - I really still can’t avoid that step and probably never will). As for the expressions, to be honest with you my way of going about them is thinking them up in emoji/kaomoji form first and then go from there. Emojis and kaomojis have to simplify expressions to the max since it’s such a simple format, right? But they’re still super expressive and convey exactly what they’re trying to say with one single glance, so using them as some kind of reference sheet has helped me a lot in figuring out what’s essential to express what I’m trying to say - still working on it though! I’m rarely satisfied with my expressions, they really do make or break a drawing don’t they............ you never stop learning, I guess!

Anon said: bakubro gives the best hugs. kirishima is the only one who knows this. everyone is absolutely incredulous when the question "who gives the best hugs" goes around and kirishima answers bakugo. (bakugo thinks kirishima is the best but he benefits from kirishima bodily hugging him and he's biased)
Definitely!! He’s strong and warm after all, bet hugging him would feel the best.... the only one who shall ever know is kiri though, as I bet his hugs are only that nice when he really likes the person he’s hugging hahaha
Anon said: Hi! Just wanted to say that I absolutely love your JJK art! The colors and style are absolutely stunning.

One of my favorite artists got into jk at the same time than me!!! I just thought it was a neat coincedence to share! I really love your art too, you're amazing!! Happy New Year!!
It’s!!!!!!!!!!!! a pretty dang neat coincidence for me too, since it’s always nice to know at least some of my followers are still into the stuff I make hahahaha

Anon said: Hi! I love your art so much!! 🥰 Have you read a KiriBaku fic called The Pit??
Probably not, haven’t been reading krbk fics in a while by now! I’ll add it to my for-later list, thank you so much for the rec!!
Anon said: can u believe that (sans sero) the entire bakusquad can be put into some form of punk/goth fashion? the realization was a galaxy brain moment for me. also realizing that tokoyami, kirishima, and tamaki are all varying levels of goth/emo (some more concerning than others)
Sero’s the hippie friend every punk friend group needs, he balances things out and that’s why he’s very cherished and necessary!!!!
Anon said: your bakugo drawings convinced me to finally start stretching my ears and tbh i'm extremely excited (i've had off and on thoughts of stretching my ears (again) before this so it's not as impulsive as it sounds haha)
Anon that’s so cool!!!!!!! I love gauges so much.....................glad I could give you the last push for it!!
Anon said: uhhhh, i love the style of that top left goge drawing dude!!
THANK YOU I LOVE DRAWING IN THAT STYLE THIS ASK MEANS THE UNIVERSE TO ME
Anon said: i sent the dragon!kiri and bakugo tug-of-waring over a piece of meat and honestly your response is exactly what i thought
Great minds!!!!!!! hahaha

probably a strange question but: how did you develop your style when it comes to poetry? I really appreciate how you write and how it's vague and specific at the same time? don't know how to express what I mean exactly, but it's like phrases that you feel more than you really understand them sometimes, and that don't look like they should make sense at a glance but when you really read them they do. maybe you'll know what quality I mean 🙈 I feel like I'm way too literal when I write and I want to be a little more abstract in a say less, convey more kind of a way?
hey anon, thank you! not a strange question at all - it’s actually a very good question, and one that i was asking until recently as well (and to be honest am still asking!). i totally know what you mean.
i guess the shortest answer i can give you is that i think ‘poetic feeling’ is best felt full-on, but expressed to the side. it’s also something that genuinely does get easier the more you try to do it, i.e., is a skill that can be sharpened; to start with, everything feels like nonsense, or not quite right, and i felt like a bit of a fake initially, but as i did it more and more i had more and more tiny breakthroughs and gained confidence (which is a genuinely such a large part of any creative endeavour), and this can happen surprisingly fast and snowball; i switched up my style in maybe 1-3 months, just trying a little bit - maybe 15 lines - every couple of days or so. and i didn’t put pressure on myself, deciding if i hated it i’d delete it and reminding myself that no one had to see. i find writing short poems also really helps with practising: they can help you focus more intensely on each choice.
it’s also not a solo thing, or at least doesn’t have to be - i use random word generators, to different degrees depending on the poem, and also it’s surprising how much even just picking words off wikipedia can help, especially with themed poetry. recently i wrote a poem about the medieval period, and threw in words that came to me with terms from wiki pages about the medieval period (history, art, medicine, etc), to make noun phrases like ‘kaleidoscopic altar vision noise’, ‘law texture’, etc etc. the thing that’s helped me most, though, is reading other poems which i think have this quality, which tends especially to be image-heavy poetry: will stone’s translation of trakl completely changed the direction of my poetry, and lorca, rilke and seferis have also been invaluable. i also find authors that do weird things with syntax interesting, like e. e. cummings and j. h. prynne, but don’t go quite as far as them. i have a list of favourite poems which might help, and which i re-read regularly ❤️
something else i enjoy doing is practising reading and misremembering, which sounds like cheating but is actually an excellent way of generating new material. i remember reading (i think it’s this article) alexandra cook’s 'creative memory and visual image in chaucer’s house of fame' and it was a breakthrough for me. from memory (ironic - wish i still had access so i could properly quote from it/check stuff) it talked about how one dimension to medieval creativity was misremembering - that new ideas and originality came from the gap between what the work actually was and how another writer remembered it. trying to deliberately misremember is a lot of fun; a poem is then borne out of an interesting intersection of skill and contingency, which gives it an energy, i think.
on a kind of separate but related note, the classical ars memoriae, or ‘art of memory’, might be quite an interesting thing to play with in relation to writing poetry. what it is, for anyone that’s not familiar with it, is basically the notion that the way to remember things is by having some kind of system in your head - like spatialising the material (so you think about the room you first encountered it in and all the details to help you better remember it), imagining it in a sequence, breaking it up into sets - there are absolutely loads of ways. if this seems weird or alien, we still use mind maps all the time, which is a great example! to deliberately twist, literalise and tbh actually invert the art of memory stuff (i know this is a bit abstract eek), i’ve been thinking recently that it might be fun to distort ideas (themes, an image you like, a line you like) by running them through various ancient memory systems, because i think medieval thought had a point that these systems subtly distort things even as and precisely because their function is get us to remember them accurately (paradoxically, we bend them to our chosen way of thinking/remembering stuff, which alters the material). using ways of memorising we wouldn’t normally use, and forcing them to interact with material much more literally, can yield quite interesting results. in any case, it introduces different ‘head spaces’ which can be quite useful to take in a very loose way when trying to ‘think to the side’: here’s a starting list. to give quite a crude and simplified example, let’s say i’m obsessed with homer’s wine dark sea and want to write something based on it, but also different and original. what if i try to think of ‘wine dark sea’ as sequential (thinking of material in a sequence being one way of remembering things listed on the above wikipedia link)? i’m honestly not sure what that means, and i can’t envision that. it doesn’t even make sense, and is a deliberate perversion of what memorising things in a sequence would actually look like - ‘wine dark sea’ would be one chain in a sequence if the sequence was, e.g., ‘favourite quotes’. ‘wine dark sea’ itself can’t be a sequence; this would turn ‘wine dark sea’ into something logical, mathematical even. but then the phrase ‘mathematical wine dark sea’ is interesting and unexpected. and you can then play with that or variations of it - ‘wine sea: dark, mathematical’ would make a great opening line, and ‘wine sea mathematics’ and ‘wine dark mathematics’ are really interesting phrases (you know actually i quite like this - might go and write a poem about it now... lol).
that last bit is very speculative and i’m kind of thinking out loud, so feel free to ignore haha. i wrote a post on writing poetry a couple of years ago, too, which might have a couple of useful tidbits. i hope some of this is helpful!!

your art motivates me to want to get better at drawing cars. UR ART IS SO AMAZING.
can i maybe get some tips?
have a great day!!
HELLO SKY!! good day! sry late reply
First of all, thank you ehe~ also it's very nice to see that if that's the case!!! GOODLUCK WITH DRAWING MORE CARS!! VROOM VROOM TO YOU lol
NOw, about the tips hmmmm. tbh I don't have any.. but I'll list some that i thought of now! that's kinda helpful for me!
- use references!!! be it real cars or from the franchise. Use them to your advantage!
- when drawing the vrooms, have a good idea of their overall shape. Their simplified form. For example, i think Finn's shape is a normal car but with large missiles on the sides and curvy and super cute, and compared to Rod, hes a muscle car so he's more Big and bulky, he's very much a rectangle cute car. Just keep that in mind.
- note fixed parts as well. For this tip, it's specific to their, well, parts. Just imagine how Finn's lights are aligned to his moustache, Rod's wheel at the back are big as shit, etc. Just keep those details in mind so the og car design is.. well translated into your own style!
- redesign. If the og car design isn't working with your style, then fuck it up and make it work with your style! ( you work the rest with your angle) or if you just feel like it. Ex. I made Leland's eyes violet because they are cuter, or for Finn, I place his sidemirror thingies wherever i feel like it so that those things wont obscure his beautiful face and I made them triangles so theyre cuter.
- try dynamic poses and angles! Now that you have a good idea of the car design, try doing the deal of drawing those guys; specifically in weird poses so you'll really work hard on how to maintain the cars shape and design.
- lastly practice and have fun! Besides looking at Finn too much, I doodle him a ton so I kinda got a little okay with drawing cars. Also just did color studies things. They were all pretty fun too! Like woah cars so cool. Also, with having fun, just experiment a ton with the coloring, make the red go green sometimes, fuck it, and the lineart, make it messy. All that good stuff. Make sure to enjoy the process because cars are fuckin complicated.
GOODLUCK SKY!! hope.. my tips.. are kinda helpful. IDK but just practice a lot, look at references, and make sure to have fun while practicing
