I feel like I’ve already made this exact post but I forgot if I actually did so I’m making it again. My belief is that the reason why Zexion was never norted despite supposedly being very close to Xemnas is that with Xigbar and Saïx it was a test of loyalty- with both of them Xehanort wasn’t entirely sure they’d be dedicated to the cause (Braig because he was ready to ditch and also threatened Xehanort after Terra injured him in BBS plus his general flippant demeanor, Saïx because Isa built up a reputation of being a sneaky little shit trying to infiltrate the castle and then later infiltrate the apprentices before going full obsequious mode) so he did that to them, whereas with Zexion his loyalty never came into question. If he ever wavered it might’ve happened but he was faithful to the end. that one quote about how being comfortable in the confines of a cage instead of angry and trying to escape it doesn’t make you any less in a cage, or maybe the “solitude vs loneliness” image with the dog holding its own leash happily vs the dog straining against its leash tied to a post, idk building an extended metaphor around Saïx being called a lapdog is difficult

You cannot complain about people not following leash laws, being off leash in undesignated zones and then immediately post about using 10-15ft leads for walking on public sidewalks to prevent leash pulling

It’s actually really touching that he retains enough of himself to spend 80% of his time dedicated to figuring out the monolith. Throughout the arc Cal hijacks the narrative which are basically Bro's thoughts (Big big example that gave Milo brainrot: "You won't give him up without a fight." Who's narrating this? You (Bro) won't give him (Cal) up without a fight or is it You (Cal) don't give him (Bro) up without a fight?). Pre sburb their thoughts align near perfectly because Bro knows nothing else and there's no point in questioning him, post sburb he's become his own person with his own thoughts that instantly clash with Cal and he KNOWS that what's going on is Not Good. He falls back into the routine because its familiar and he's tired and he doesn't want to keep going through the difficulties of being an actual human- he doesn't actually WANT to become the way he used to be, its a trauma response.

The fighting back is more about mental strength like... What he didn't know/closed his eyes to back then vs what he knows now. He's actively questioning Cal's control and trying to take back little bits and pieces of the narrative, fighting back for full control of his body against Cal's strings. He Wants to be his own person and keep his family safe, he doesn't want to be a puppet, and that affects Cal's control on him

thinking about mtt literally physically dragging eachother down and being restrained to eachother because theyre genuinely that fucking ass for eachother but then it means i'd have to decide which of them to humiliate by putting a collar on them. and i can't choose. if they dont all equally suffer than whats the point man 🙁🙁🙁

btw idk if you know this, but if you're dealing with some bad lower back pain and it feels super tight down there, go find something you can safely dead hang from (no activation of muscles aside from hanging on like you're gonna do a pull up). Tree branches, monkey bars, pull up bar, whatever you have nearby. Hang for 30 seconds on, then take a break, then repeat a couple times. This can decompress your vertebrae and give a whole bunch of relief.

This is coming from someone who recently got pulled on my ass by a 40 pound cattle dog who'd seen a squirrel, and I landed pretty hard, wound up compressing my back for a few days. This is the only thing that helped haha. Stretching, foam rolling, etc wasn't addressing the root issue. This is good if you take a hard fall (landing on your ass or on your feet), or if you just sit a lot in general. Helps a TON with your lower back.
