i’ve had the lines floating around my head, most definitely said by jason to dick—of course, you keep coming back when he calls. you’re just a fucking dog coming to heel at your master’s feet—and i’ve been mulling what dick would say, or what he’d think because he probably does feel like this way but he’d never say it aloud for his own pride because he’s built himself as a separate man…but he’ll always be tied to bruce, but the words always feel wrong. because he has no master, because he is no dog, but he does come back when called so what is he, really?

did you know american robins have 2 main ways of dealing with winter? there are robins who migrate down south when food becomes scarce up north. typical for birds, of course. but then there are the robins who stay, who change their diets just to live where they grew up. for the robins who stay, they form flocks. it’s for protection and survival. larger groups means more eyes.

dick isn’t a dog. he is who he’s always been: a bird, a robin. when the flock needs more eyes, more protection, he will always come back

i'm sorry but what exactly is the point of martingales/limited slips with QUICK RELEASE BUCKLES? The martingale style collar is a tool and should never be left on the dog when they're playing with others (soooo easy for other dogs legs and mouths to get caught in the martingale loop regardless if the collar has a buckle or not...) or in a situation where you might need to pop a quick release buckle. the purpose of the martingale is to prevent escape (great for dogs with tiny heads, strong dogs that could forcefully pull out of other collars, dogs with a lot of hair) when walking/working/on tie out (although i much prefer a limited slip if you MUST have a tightening collar on an escape artist dog on tie out vs looped martingale, again bc its easier for things to get caught in a martingale, otherwise a non-buckle circle collar should be used...) whereas the purpose of a quick release buckle is to make sure the dog CAN escape if needed. I understand the inclusion of buckles on martingales is for ease of access for people to put them on and take them off, but just like...adjust the collar big enough to fit over the dog's head and then readjust it for proper tightness afterwards? it takes a little bit longer, but you're not creating a weakness in an anti-escape tool where it doesn't need to be.

so ending notes: quick release buckle collars and non-buckle martingales are different tools meant for different purposes. You can't have it both ways for both these types of tools without voiding some aspect of why they are different in the first place. Sometimes it's okay if your dog wears multiple collars (Sigurd wears two collars! on walks. All my dogs have limited slips/martingales, quick release buckle collars, and non-buckle circle (non-martingale) collars that are used depending on the situation. If they are released to play with each other the non-buckle equipment comes OFF first, literally that easy). One collar with aspects of all kinds of collars is not going to do a specific task as well as the collar made for that task. Buckles on ANY TYPE of dog equipment present a weak spot (as do points of adjustment, but not as much). Buckles can break, be crushed, pop out of place and decrease in strength over periods of time (especially if you have very hot or very cold weather) but crucially allow for a piece of equipment to be released from the dog very quickly which can be an important safety feature. It does not mean it is necessary on every single tool.

I always wanted a dog growing up but as an adult I really do think dog owners can be just so obnoxious and irritating. Thinking about how my neighbours dog bit me as a child and it had to be put down and that neighbour NEVER spoke to me again, sorry but if fluffy decided to maul a 7 year old out of the blue once fluffy is not a family pet

I feel like I’ve already made this exact post but I forgot if I actually did so I’m making it again. My belief is that the reason why Zexion was never norted despite supposedly being very close to Xemnas is that with Xigbar and Saïx it was a test of loyalty- with both of them Xehanort wasn’t entirely sure they’d be dedicated to the cause (Braig because he was ready to ditch and also threatened Xehanort after Terra injured him in BBS plus his general flippant demeanor, Saïx because Isa built up a reputation of being a sneaky little shit trying to infiltrate the castle and then later infiltrate the apprentices before going full obsequious mode) so he did that to them, whereas with Zexion his loyalty never came into question. If he ever wavered it might’ve happened but he was faithful to the end. that one quote about how being comfortable in the confines of a cage instead of angry and trying to escape it doesn’t make you any less in a cage, or maybe the “solitude vs loneliness” image with the dog holding its own leash happily vs the dog straining against its leash tied to a post, idk building an extended metaphor around Saïx being called a lapdog is difficult

Absolutely respect Dave for being in there chewing on the wires.

It’s actually really touching that he retains enough of himself to spend 80% of his time dedicated to figuring out the monolith. It’s heavily implied everything that he’s been absorbed before is just recorded and there but he’s like- for lack of a better explanation he’s refusing to get in the pokeball and is studying it as much as it studied him. I wish it was explored more he’s insane for that.
