How Can “IT” Love a Human? Pt. 1
Pt. 2
Pt. 3
Finale.
Aquarius was sitting with her son, looking into his mom’s photo album while Kandy and Pennywise had a little skin to skin bond. Archie noticed a picture of his mom in the old family photo. “Is that you in the picture mommy?” Archie asked; assuming that the young-looking girl was his mom. “That’s right son, and these are your late twin uncle and aunt, Xavier and Babs; my older brother and sister.” Aquarius explained.
Aquarius noticed that Archie was looking in confusion. “What are you thinking about son?” Aquarius asked. “What did you mean by late twins?” Archie asked. Aquarius didn’t answer; she got into a flashback from when she was four, her twin sibling sacrificed their lives for her before The Dream Demon: Freddy Krueger harms their little sister. Which stated how Aquarius knew about an exchange in order to save the ones you cared for.
Archie snapped his mom out, since she didn’t respond to his question. “...It means... They were... gone too soon...” Aquarius answered while facing down.” Archie stared sadly. “What happened to them?” Archie asked as he was concerned. Aquarius didn’t answer, she just faced her son unamused. “Sweetie, mommy’s not in the mood anymore, I’m getting tired.” Aquarius explained. Archie realized that he asked an offensive question, so he decided to leave his mom be. However, he did give her a gentle kiss by the cheek, which was rare of him to do so. After Archie left the room, Aquarius silently cries on the couch as she was thinking about her deceased twin siblings.
***
Later that night, Pennywise and Aquarius were lying in their beds. Since their children are in their beds sleeping, they have some time for themselves. “You know, Pretty Blue, Archie told me that you’ve been crying in the living room today... Do you wish to talk about it?” Pennywise asked. Aquarius sighed before she responded. “It’s nothing personal... but... Archie asked me about my twin siblings; do you remember back when I told you about how The Dream Demon killed my brother and sister, as they were sacrificing their souls for me?” Aquarius asked. Pennywise nodded and remembered. “Yeah... Look sweetheart, I know you’re upset, but you’ve got to let that dark past go; it took me 529 years for me to get over the trauma back when my home planet was destroyed... I don’t want you to go through what I’ve been through...” Then he placed both his hands on both side of her cheeks. “...Be grateful for your loss of your human soul; if you’ve never became a demon clown, I would never have met ‘my Star from the Sky’...” Pennywise finished with a kiss at the end. Aquarius teared to Pennywise’s words. “I love you, Penny...” Aquarius responded before she kissed him back.
Pennywise was going to lift up her shirt until she stopped him. “Penny... I love you, but I’m too tired to pop your balloons tonight...” Aquarius honestly said before she tucked herself in. Of course, Pennywise didn’t give up too easily, so he slides his hand into her nightshirt and groped her... balloons. Aquarius knew that Pennywise will be up all night until she does accept his temptation. “Alright Penny, let’s make this quick...” However, it wasn’t quick. But Aquarius didn’t care anymore; she needed this.
After the love making ended, they fell asleep together. Well, except for Aquarius; what Pennywise said about the part how he could never have a love life if it weren’t for the accident she was in. So she woke up her husband. “Penny... Penny?” Pennywise woke up with a snore. “Ready for round six?” Pennywise asked with a sleepy chuckle. Aquarius didn’t answer. “Would you still love me if I was a human being... Like... fully human?” Aquarius asked. Pennywise smiled with a lazy-eye smirk. “Why asking a silly question that’s so hypothetic?” Pennywise asked. “Would you love me if I’m a human-being?” Aquarius asked again. “Aquarius...” “WOULD YOU?” Aquarius toned her voice to make him answer. “OF COURSE NOT.” Everything is all silent for a moment until Pennywise took a breath. “If you really want to know the truth... if you were a full human being, I could easily kill you with the smell of your fresh fears... Demon Clowns and Humans can’t ever love each other. I’m just glad that you’re a demon clown and nothing less.” Pennywise said before he rubbed her back. “Now can we get some sleep before Kandy wakes up?” Pennywise asked before he yawned. Aquarius nodded as she agreed, she is indeed tired and would love to get some shuteye. That is until they both heard Kandy crying. “I got it, Penny.” Aquarius said before she exhaustedly gets out of bed to check on her daughter.
***
When Aquarius was finally getting some sleep, she was in the dream realm that she remembered very well from when she was younger; the boiler room. “Oh no... Anywhere but here...” Aquarius said to herself with worry. “What’s the matter Scarlet Jones, scared?” Said the voice. “Oh no, I ain’t having it; I’m waking up!” Aquarius yelled as she tries to wake herself up.
However, there is no avail. Then she heard the sharp scraping on the metal poles. Freddy Krueger was approaching her; she tried to run, but she’s not going anywhere, she is stuck in her spot. “Miss me, bitch?” Freddy asked as he was a few inches close to her face. “What do you want, Deadpool Sr.? I’m not in the mood!” Aquarius said with a sass. Freddy only chuckled to her sass; it really fires him up in a good way... for him anyway. “I like the way you sass me, just like when you were four years old; Babs was a sassy one, and now her baby bitch is the sassy one... How cute...” Freddy replied. Aquarius punched Freddy in the face hard before she tries to escape the dream realm, but she still couldn’t move.
Freddy made an evil chuckle as he was watching Aquarius struggling to wake herself up. “Can’t you see, Clown Bitch? There is no escaping The Nightmare Legend! After what you did to me back in the past; back from when I was trying to kidnap your son, you shredded me to death...” Freddy opened his knives and laid one of his knives on her neck. “...But... I have a much better idea... Instead of me killing you...” He placed her hair behind her ear before he continued. “I’ll let Pennywise do it for me.” Freddy planned. Aquarius was shocked; why would her lover want to kill her, after all the sweet love bond and starting a family? “Penny would never kill me; he loves me to the stars and back!” Aquarius scolded. “That’s not what I’ve heard...” Freddy’s head transformed into Pennywise as he was going to repeat what Pennywise said a few hours ago.
“If you really want to know the truth... if you were a full human being, I could easily kill you with the smell of your fresh fears... Demon Clowns and Humans can’t ever love each other.”
After Freddy turns back into himself, Aquarius only stared in confusion. “But I’m not a human being anymore; I was summoned by the devil, and it’s my duty to hunt and kill the sinners in my path.” Aquarius explained. Freddy pounced onto Aquarius and held her by the scruff of her night top. “Are you forgetting who you were witnessing? I’m the satin here now...” Before Aquarius could respond, Freddy flicked his claws and magically turned Aquarius into a full human.
After Aquarius woke up, she went to the bathroom to make a pit stop. But as she entered the bathroom, she saw her reflection in the mirror, she’s no longer her clown-self anymore; she’s now her old human-self again. Even though back then she was upset that she was turned into a demon clown, she was even more upset, now that she has a love of her life and made two beautiful clown children. But Pennywise can’t love a human, he’ll kill her if he tries. Aquarius needed to leave the house, away from her kids and away from her husband.
***
A few hours later, Pennywise woke up and was going to wrap his arm around his wife, only to realize that Aquarius wasn’t in her side of the bed. Pennywise wasn’t too worried; she’s usually the first to wake up for when she needed to go to the bathroom or needed to give Kandy some attention, so he went into the kitchen to see if she’s there.
When Pennywise entered the kitchen, he saw his son having his vegan cereal. “Son?” Pennywise said in confusion. Archie freaked out when he saw his dad; he didn’t know how his dad will react to him eating only vegan food. “I swear dad, it’s not what it looks like...” “Never mind that, son; I’ve found that you’ve been eating vegan foods... Your mom doesn’t keep secrets from me... Which reminds me, have you seen your mother this morning? She wasn’t next to me when I woke up.” Pennywise asked. Archie shrugged, as he doesn’t know where she is. “I was just up to have breakfast, she could be in Kandy’s nursery.” Archie thought. Pennywise had to admit that it may be the case, until they both heard Kandy crying for attention; they both realize that if Aquarius was in the nursery, Kandy would not be crying just now.
Pennywise went over to Kandy’s nursery and picked up his daughter. “You don’t suppose you know where your mommy is, do you?” Kandy didn’t answer her dad’s question, due to the fact that she couldn’t talk yet, so she just makes random bubbles with her mouth. “Am I suppose to understand that, gumdrop?” Pennywise chuckled before he gave his daughter a lingering kiss.
While Pennywise feeds his daughter some milk, with a hint of soul spice, Pennywise started thinking to himself. Why would Aquarius leave him without hearing her consult? She could’ve at least leave a note that she’s going to be gone. Maybe something happened to her and that she didn’t have time to explain. What ever the reason is, he hoped that she’ll come back and explain things to him and the kids.

Chapter Twelve
April 5th
It was nearly eleven at night when Harry finally parked his car in the Sterling’s driveway. They drove the five hour ride all the way from London to Lorelai’s childhood home, which was about an hour away from York towards the sea. At the beginning of the ride Lorelai had been buzzing with excitement. She couldn’t wait to see her parents, her siblings, and especially all of her nieces and nephews. She talked Harry’s ear off for the first hour of the ride to remind him of everybody’s names.
Xavier let Lorelai out a little earlier than usual so she and Harry could arrive at her parents’ house sooner in the day. There was no way they would have time to make the trip the following day as it was the wedding day, but they also weren’t looking forward to arriving in the middle of the night. It was still late enough that Lorelai’s parents wouldn’t be awake to greet them when they arrived, but not so that they would be exhausted in the morning.
Lorelai had fallen asleep about an hour away from their destination. Harry hadn’t minded because although he didn’t complain about her excited speak, he welcomed the silence when her eyes finally began to droop. Once they arrived though, he had to shake her arm a few times to get her awake.
“Wha’ do ya want?” Lorelai moans when her eyes open to find Harry’s.
Harry lets a breathy chuckle pass his lips. “We’re at your parents’ home now.”
Lorelai hums and blinks her eyes a few times. Harry’s hand was still on her arm, squeezing ever so slightly as if to help her wake up.
Finally, Lorelai gathers her bearings and exits the car. Harry follows her, grabbing both of their duffle bags from the backseat and shouldering them. Lorelai takes a moment by the front door to dig her keys out of her purse. She looks around her front porch, taking in all that she’s missed over the last few months. There were new chairs here now, a rocking bench that she knew was for her nieces and nephews, which was placed methodically over a dent in the wood that Lorelai and Darla had put there nearly twenty years ago.
Lorelai looks back towards Harry now. He was more focused on his surroundings as well. She watched as he took in the white picket fence surrounding the home, her mother's small garden in front of the porch, and the few bikes dumped on top of the grass from the younger children earlier in the day. Harry looks back to Lorelai now and when their eyes meet Harry sends her a small smile.
“We have to be quiet. I don’t know who else is staying here tonight, but if we wake any of the kids then we’re going to be murdered,” Lorelai jokes as she unlocks the front door.
Harry nods, biting his bottom lip to hold back a grin.
Lorelai lets him into the house and follows right behind him, locking the door again once it’s shut. She didn’t dare turn any lights on, but she knew this house like the back of her hand. She could lead her and Harry to her room in forty-two seconds flat without being caught. That was her fastest record anyways from when she was a teenager and would sneak back into her house after being out past curfew.
“This way,” Lorelai whispers while grasping onto Harry’s hand without a second thought.
Lorelai takes him down the hallway to the back staircase. Once up the stairs, her avoiding all the creaky parts of the steps and Harry being not so lucky, she takes him to the second door on the left. She could make out the outline of three letters on the door, L, C, and D. As a child, Lorelai always shared a room with her two younger sisters. At a time with Jones as well, but he eventually started sharing a room with Lawrence when he got older. Lorelai’s mother had promised her earlier in the day though that this room would be all hers to share with Harry.
Once she and Harry are in the room with the door firmly closed shut, Lorelai finally turns the lights one. The interior of the room has barely changed since Lorelai was fifteen. The room hadn’t really been big enough for three teenage girls, so the furniture had to basically be on top of one another. The bunk bed pushed against the back wall had always been for Carmen and Darla. Lorelai rarely ever allowed her sisters to share the single bed Lorelai claimed on the other side of the wall.
The walls were covered with a different range of posters. Lorelai could never agree with anything her sisters did when they were children. She had very few similar interests as them, so while their walls were covered with flowers and rainbows and princesses, the wall next to Lorelai’s bed had pictures from different business magazines tacked to her walls. Her favorite articles of business ventures and CEOs she aspired to be right there by her head so she could read them over and over again until she fell asleep at night.
Harry set their bags down with a quiet thud. “No way,” he whispers as he moves towards the articles on her wall.
“What is it?” Lorelai asks just as quiet as she follows him, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
Harry climbs onto her bed so that he’s on his knees on the mattress. He points at a picture of a family attached to one of the articles. “That’s me.”
Lorelai climbs onto the bed beside him now. She shakes her head furiously. “That can’t be you.”
Harry laughs, probably a little too loud, but neither of them care to notice. “Yes it is. My grandfather, my mum’s dad, owned his own business before he passed. That’s me, my mum, and my sister at the forty year anniversary from when the company started when I was twenty.”
Lorelai pushes him aside to get a closer look at the picture. She focuses on the details of the boy in the photo. His wild curls, the way his lips curled in a smug smirk, the freckle above his lip. It did look a lot like Harry, a younger version at least. Lorelai pales for a moment, before the blood rushes to her face at the realization.
“You had a picture of me up on your wall when you were a teenager.”
“Shut your mouth. I didn’t know.” Lorelai looks at the article attached, remembering it to be one of her favorites when she was younger. It was truly an underdog tale for Harry’s grandfather. He had a young family when he started the company, built it from nothing, and now it was worth billions of dollars.
“Bet you looked at that picture of me before you fell asleep every night.” Harry was grinning full on now, the same smug look appearing on his face as the picture. Lorelai wanted to smack it off, and she let him know it.
“I probably thought about cutting your face out a time or two. There is no way I found you attractive when I was a teenager.” Even Lorelai knew she was lying about the last part, and when she looked over at Harry she knew he could tell so as well.
“Yeah, okay,” Harry snorts while climbing off of her bed.
Lorelai turns around and sits on the bed. “You can’t mention this ever again.”
Harry walks over to their bags. He looks back over at her with an eyebrow raised. “You can’t honestly expect that of me. I’ll be talking about this for the rest of forever.”
Lorelai lets out a quiet groan before leaning back against her bed. She covers her face with her hands. “Of all the goddamn people,” Lorelai mutters under her breath.
She feels the bed dip beside her. When she reaches out she feels the strap of her duffle in her palm. “I’m changing, just so you know. You can feel free to look-”
Lorelai kicks her leg out to make contact with his shin to cut him off. He yelps in pain for a moment before letting out a low rumble of a laugh. She hears some shuffling, and then the ruffling of his clothes, and finally he tells her that he’s done. Lorelai opens her eyes and sits up. Harry’s stood with his back to her so he’s facing the bunk bed, his bag on the bottom bunk as he organizes the bag’s contents. A pair of joggers rest low on his hips, and tattoos are scattered along his arms, and finally when he turns towards her again she spots even more of them on his chest.
She doesn’t even realizing she’s ogling at him until she spots the curl of his lips. Lorelai instantly looks away to another side of the room, her cheeks blushing an even more furious color than they were before. Harry doesn’t say anything though, and for that she’s thankful.
“You don’t look now,” Lorelai finally gets out just above a whisper. She slips off of the bed and picks out her pajamas, and when she turns around before she starts changing she finds Harry with his back towards her again. With a deep breath of relief, Lorelai changes out of her clothes and into the sleepwear as fast as she can.
“You finished?” Harry asks when he must hear the zip of her duffle.
“Mhmm,” Lorelai hums while placing the bag next to her bed. “We should get to bed, we’ve got an early start in the morning.”
“Hmm,” Harry agrees, watching her as she climbs into the single bed. “Goodnight.”
Lorelai spares him on final glance as she settles under the covers. She watches as he flicks the light off before getting into the bottom bunk himself. “Goodnight.”
~
April 6th
“Rebecca, no!”
If someone shouting hadn’t startled Lorelai awake, then the slamming of her bedroom door definitely would have. Lorelai sits up, just registering the three and a half year old struggling to climb onto the bed she was sleeping on. She hears another bang, and then a small cry of pain. Lorelai struggles to hold back a giggle at the sound, she’d heard that sound enough times whenever Carmen or Darla would bang their head against the top bunk.
“Auntie Lor,” Rebecca coos once she finally gets on the bed and scrambles into Lorelai’s lap. Rebecca presses her small hands against Lorelai’s cheeks while nuzzling her nose against hers.
“Hello darling,” Lorelai whispers, her voice just barely heard before she starts yawning. She looks over to the doorway where Jones stands apologetically.
“She’s getting faster every day, I swear it,” Jones laughs while walking over to his sister. He grabs his daughter and lifts her up, but not before pressing a kiss against Lorelai’s cheek.
“Or maybe you’re just getting slower. It comes with the old age.”
Jones scowls to her playfully. “You’re older than me.”
“In every way but physical. Is that a gray hair?” Lorelai teases while reaching towards Jones’ hair. He swats her hand away and runs his hand through his hair self-consciously.
“Be quiet,” Jones mutters while taking a few steps away again towards the door. Rebecca struggles in his hold, but her father has a firm grip on her. He finally takes a look over to Harry, his expression neutral although Lorelai could see he was having a hard time figuring out how he should feel about Harry. After all, Jones was the one person Lorelai told everything to. “G’morning Harry.”
“Hi, yeah good morning,” Harry replies, still rubbing a spot on the top of his head.
“Mum and dad are excited to see you, both of you. That’s why Rebecca stormed in, figured you’d be less grumpy about being woken up if she did it.”
Lorelai rolls her eyes, but still lets out an amused snort. She pushes the blankets off and lets her legs dangle off the side of the bed. “Of course they did. Alright, we’ll be down soon.”
Jones nods and then smiles down to Rebecca. “Come on slugger, your cousins should be here soon.” With that, he leaves the room and closes the door behind him.
Harry stands up and reaches his arms upwards in a stretch, even standing on his tiptoes to do so. He then rubs one of his hands over his face like he was trying to wipe his sleepiness away.
“What time does the wedding start?” He asks while looking at the time on his phone.
“Around two, so in about five hours,” Lorelai responds while standing up herself.
“I left my suit hanging in the car with your dress,” Harry tells her.
“We can get them after breakfast then. And introductions. Not sure how many people are here yet.”
Harry nods while opening his duffle and taking out a t-shirt. He slips it over his head and then puts a pair of socks on his feet. “Ready to head down then?”
Lorelai eyes him before standing herself up. “Yeah, let’s get down there soon before the kids eat all the food.”
***
Everybody loved Harry, maybe even more than they loved Lorelai. Even Lawrence who took a while to really warm up to people, took such a liking to him. He knew Paul, Carmen’s now husband, for nearly seven months now and hated to be around the guy. He’s known Harry for seven hours and he was like a schoolboy with a crush. When Lorelai first introduced Harry to her family that morning she was a bit nervous, but Harry fit in like he belonged there all along.
The kids especially took to him. All of them were fascinated by him and demanded they play with him. Even Lorelai’s eldest niece, Faye, who is sixteen, tried to talk to him about law. She claimed she was thinking of majoring in it when she finally got to Uni. When Lorelai had asked her sister about it later on, Valerie told her it was the first she had ever heard about that. Lorelai couldn’t help the small laugh when she realized the crush her niece must have had on Harry then.
The wedding had been a success. Lorelai didn’t get to talk to her new brother-in-law for too long, but Carmen was happy with him and she supposes that’s all that really matters. The newly wed couple were now moving slowly across the dance floor with a few other couples. Carmen was beautiful, and Lorelai even shed a few tears when her baby sister recited her vows. It was the first time she had properly seen Carmen pregnant, and she was positively glowing, even more so with the white lace dress she chose to wear.
Lorelai watches them now again, sitting at a table, while tears slowly come back to her eyes. She spent most of the day away from Harry. He hung out with the men while Lorelai helped her sister get ready, and Lorelai was a bridesmaid so she stuck by her sisters side while Harry sat in one of the chairs in her parents backyard. And finally when the reception started, Lawrence took Harry inside to introduce him to some of Lorelai’s aunts, uncles, and cousins. Not that she wouldn’t have done that herself, but Lawrence got his grip on Harry first.
“Why’re you crying, Skipper?”
Lorelai snaps her head to her left where the voice had come from. Harry sat next to her with a wide grin across his lips. She wipes the tear that had fallen down her cheek.
“That can’t seriously be the nickname you’ve chosen,” Lorelai huffs.
Earlier in the day, while breakfast was being served, Harry finally got a chance to see the small two-story house when it wasn’t pitch black. There were pictures on nearly every spot on the wall, ranging from when Valerie was a newborn to Carmen and Paul’s recent engagement photos. He came across one of Lorelai and her father on a boat when she was about seven. He had used to take her fishing all the time when she was a child and well into her teenage years.
“Thought she was the captain of the ship, that one,” John Sterling told Harry when he noticed which picture he was looking at.
“A little skipper.” As soon as the words passed his lips Harry’s eyes instantly found Lorelai’s. It was his stare and the raise of his eyebrow that told her that Harry had finally figured out the nickname he wanted for her.
“It is, and it makes loads of sense. You do think you’re the captain of everything.”
Lorelai rolls her eyes. “Not everything,” she mutters.
Harry barks out a laugh. He then stands up and reaches his hand towards her. “Come on Skipper, let’s have a dance.”
Lorelai stares back and forth from his hand to his face dubiously. “Do you even know how to dance?”
Harry glares at her in mock offense. “Of course I know how to dance. Now come on.”
Lorelai reluctantly takes his hand, and as soon as his fingers are wrapped around hers he’s leading her to the dance floor. She spots her parents watching them with some type of knowing eye, but Lorelai can’t possibly figure out what it is that has them looking at them like that.
Lorelai places one of her hands on top of Harry’s shoulders while the other is still holding on to his. Lorelai thinks that Harry is just going to place his hand on her hip and keep a few inches of space separating them, but suddenly his hand is on the small of her back and he’s pushing her forward until there’s nearly no space between them at all. Lorelai lets out a gasp at the sudden movement, but also at the feeling of their two bodies pressed together.
Harry presses the side of his nose against her temple so that his lips rest right next to her ear. “Are you okay?”
Lorelai swallows before nodding. They start moving then, slowly swaying back and forth to whatever song is playing in the background. Harry hums along to the song in her ear, the vibrations from him lulling her into a space of security.
“You look really beautiful in this dress, you know. I don’t think I got to tell you earlier.”
Lorelai’s cheeks warm up, and she’s happy that her face is hidden against his neck so that he can’t see it. “Thank you. You don’t look too bad yourself.”
Harry chuckles, the vibrations from his chest knocking into her. The way he’s holding her, talking to her in these low tones, moving her back and forth ever so gently, it ignites a warm feeling at the bottom of Lorelai’s stomach.
Lorelai looks up to him to find him already staring back at her. He’s smiling so hard that his dimples have popped out. His cheeks are flushed ever so slightly. His eyes are shining with such warmth that she’s sure she’s about to melt into a puddle. Does he always look at her like that?
She lets a feeling wash over her. A feeling she never thought she could possess around Harry. Something a lot more than just tolerating him being her friend. It gave her the same funny feelings from when she hated him, but it was somehow different. It was like all of that energy from before was just a front for what she was feeling now.
“Harry I-”
But he cuts her off. His lips are pressed against hers like he knew she just finally came to this revelation. Like he knew she finally considered him as more than an enemy, as more than a friend. How long had he considered her more, she wonders.
Lorelai didn’t push him away. Instead she wrapped her fingers into the curls at the nape of his neck and pulled his face even closer to hers if that were possible. An explosion went off inside of Lorelai, and she could tell he felt the same by the way his body started shaking ever so slightly underneath her.
“Fucking finally,” Harry mutters, his lips barely off of hers. “Been waiting forever to do that.”
