10,000th Fanart Reblog
Hello everyone! I just reblogged my 10,000th piece of fanart!!! I wanted to say a quick thank you to all of the artists over the years whose art has inspired me so much. I'm so grateful to be a part of these fandoms and get to witness all of the love, joy, and creativity each one of you pours into your work. Categorizing, tagging, and archiving all of it has been something I'm incredibly proud of. If you see this post, make sure you let the artists in your life know how much you love them and their work.
And to the artists, even if you think no one is going to see your art, they will. I've loved fanart with 10 notes just as much as I've loved art with 10,000. You matter and what you put out on this platform matters. There is someone out there who will forever care about what you've done long after your account has been deactivated and you've moved on. Man, what a dream it is to be here with you all. Can't wait for the next 10,000!!
P.S. Here's a fraction of the artists I've reblogged in my sideblog's short life. I wish I could tag them all. Give their art my love and yours.

The "No Swimming" sign is finally back underwater where it belongs
[ID: A photograph of a lake, with the tall, fuzzy stems of dogfennel in front of it rising out of the dark reflective water, with a sign several feet away reading, "No Swimming Allowed". Behind the back edge of the lake is an island covered in green trees. End ID.]
And just in time because there's at least one alligator here now :)

I walk around our property looking at the different “weeds” growing. I’m new to learning about herbalism so I use an app to find out what a lot of things are. But I also do research to make sure the app is telling me correctly.
These are some of the plants that the app says we have here:
Thistle
Curly Dock
Carolina Geranium
Hairy Buttercup
Spiny Sowthistle
Common Vetch
Lesser Swinecress
Horse weed
Pennsylvania Everlasting
Chinese Bushclover
Groundseltree
Japanese Honeysuckle
Sticky Chickweed
Prickly Lettuce
Tiny Bluet
Corn Salad
Birdeye Speedwell
Wild Garlic
Purple Dead-nettle
Dandelion
Creeping Buttercup
Henbit Deadnettle
Roundleaf Greenbrier
Evening Primrose
Blue Mistflower
Purple False Foxglove
Broomsedge Bluestem
Wrinkledleaf Goldenrod
Pasture Thistle
Virginia Creeper
Trumpet Vine
White Heath Aster
White Clover
Large leaf Pennywort
American Pokeweed
Dogfennel
But it seems like every day there’s something new popping up.

Me and my twin @onehalfgeode's fantasy high sonas! They're co-presidents of Aguefort's Garden Club. They started as druids and then Geode multi-classed into a rogue who sneaks around with a backpack of native seeds and Dogfennel multi-classed into a barbarian that smashes things with a huge spade.
(inspired by @cloudmancy 's template and incredible sona)

Plants That Look Like Dill: Top 9 Plants For Your Yard
Absinth wormwood, Salem rosemary, fennel, dogfennel, roman chamomile, cumin, tarragon, thyme, and summer savory resemble dill. Wondering what wild dill looks like? It boasts slender stems and soft, tiny leaves. Distinguishing it from dill-like weeds in your garden can be tricky, akin to telling gardenia and jasmine apart. The answer awaits below! https://samuelsgarden.com/plants-that-look-like-dill/

My friend and I were leaving her house in south Florida a few weeks ago when she stopped me to point out this striking moth, as she knew I would definitely want to check it out. Obviously enamored, I did some research and learned so much about this beautiful insect, called the Scarlet Bodied Wasp Moth (Cosmosoma myrodora). Apparently adult males of this species have adapted an insanely badass way of looking out for their mates. On the day when a Scarlet Bodied Wasp Moth chooses to mate, he will find a Dogfennel plant (Eupatorium capillifolium) and use his probiscus to collect pyrrolizidine alkaloids. The intrepid moth will then retain these poisonous toxins until the occasion of his coupling with another of his species. Upon copulation, the male showers the female in a cloud of the toxins, effectively forming a safety bubble to protect the pair from predatory species like the Golden Orb Web spider. Not only is the female inoculated with these defensive compounds, so too are her developing eggs! This process is essential to reducing predation, and eggs that do not receive the pyrrolizidine alkaloids are far more vulnerable. The Scarlet Bodied Wasp Moth is the only known insect to transfer a chemical defense in this way! What a cool moth!

These two are hard at work clearing some underbrush. They really like the maple leaves when they find a sapling but these are some of their other favorites. We are enjoying having these new members on the farm. #goats #poisonivy #jackinthepulpit #virginiacreeper #dogfennel #farmlife #hardatwork #smallcreekon3acresfarm https://www.instagram.com/p/CefA_Lmgf6q/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

{{ #mondaymandala of #gratitude 🌸 Rain has visited all day & for this I am #thankful . 🙏🏽 A long band of storms along the coast which will bring flooding & marine warnings I know but but but it brings a respite from the heat & sun. 🌞 ... welllll, so much for the northeast #florida weather report. ⚡️⚡️💧💧💧 ✌🏽🙂☔️ Do you know #dogfennel ? That is the green in the #mandala . I have a path growing in my wildflower garden & I am not certain of its virtues, if it had any. 🌱🌱🌱 Do you know ? I keep waiting for flowers to appear but so far zip, nada, nothing. 🌸 It doesn’t seem to host butterflies or feed WildThings. 🐿🐇🦃🦜🦌🦍🐊🐠🦖🐌🐞 I think maybe it needs more research. #spfcreates2015 🌸 #spfmondaymandala2015 🌸🌸 #gather #make #sacredgeometry 🌸🌸🌸 #thisone made #foryou 🌸 #somethingfromnothing 🌸🌸 #nothingisordinary ... even plain dog fennel can be used in #art 🙏🏽 #mandalamonday 🌸 (at St. Augustine, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDKVAtSAeP0/?igshid=jj6eo1dznlyu

Buck: Hmmm I'm gonna walk this way.
Me: Please don't.
Buck: Oh. No. I'll go the other way.
Me: Thanks.
(The camera is zoomed in a lot, it's not as close as it looks)
[ID: A video showing a male white-tailed deer with antlers standing and looking towards the camera from in front of some very tall dogfennel plants. A voice is in the middle of saying, "Please go somewhere else" right as the video starts, and continues, "I am standing right here." The deer hears the voice, looks at the narrator, and turns to go back into the cover of the plants. "Thank you" the narrator says. The deer runs into the plants and out of sight. "Thank you" the narrator repeats. End ID.]
We were separated by at least 50 feet, and water, but it clearly was not aware I was standing there when it started walking out of the plants, so I wanted to make sure it wasn't going to get any closer. I prefer to take pictures of them from like, 200 feet away, thanks.
Anyways, this is your reminder not to approach wildlife. They're not pets. If you want to "feed" them, grow native plants that provide food for them. For deer, that means acorns (Not Sawtooth Oak unless you're actually in the parts of Asia where it's native!) for them to eat in the fall, and other plants they eat the leaves from.
