Just Friends: Can I Take Your Order?
My warnings are not exhaustive but be aware this is a dark fic and may include potentially triggering topics. Please use your common sense when consuming content. I am not responsible for your decisions.
Character: Bucky Barnes
masterlist
Summary: Bucky pays you a surprise visit.
It’s giving
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging ❤️
Your work isn’t hard per se, but it can be chaotic. Still, your tips more than make up for all the running around, but not necessarily the ridiculous attire. You’re not entirely unhappy, it’s exciting even if it can be stressful.
The diners always keep you on your feet. Literally. You run around, table to table, that night dressed as the infamous Dorothy who’s too far from Kansas. Somewhere around their, a lion, scarecrow, and tinman are taking orders and entertaining children at their seats.
The themed restaurant isn’t really the place you would go, but it’s a family-friendly venue in a city overcrowded with more adult attractions. The money keeps a roof over your head. You won’t complain for that.
The Oz room is overflowing and you can see more customers in the lobby. Please send them over to Mary Poppins’ Pop-In. You don’t have time to dread the new wave of diners as you bring a tray of desserts to a table with three blustering toddlers. You could never.
“Anything else?” You ask as you put out the stemmed cups of banana pudding pie.
“The check--” the father demands before he’s hit in the face with a stray straw. He grits back his agitation and forces a smile, “thanks.”
You pick up the straw and leave him. As you do, you pass Graham, that night’s scarecrow. He lowers his voice as he follows you to the till.
“Can you get the next table, please? I’m dying for a smoke. Any longer and I’m going to smack one of these brats,” he mutters.
You smile at him. You find the nights go by quicker without breaks. “No problem! On it. I just need to get this bill printed out.”
You toss the straw and tap the till. You pull up that table and print it out, tucking it into one of the little folders. You grab a handful of hard candies and sweep back across the dining room.
“Here ya are, enjoy your desserts,” you say and carry on.
You peer around, searching for the new diners. Right there in the corner. You head over in your pig-tailed wig and red shoes. As you near, your chest flickers. You think you know the back of that head. No, it’s not. He wouldn’t be here...
You’re all but assured of your suspicions by the golden hair of the man across from him. A third to round out party. You cringe before you muster a smile and come to the side of the table.
“Welcome to the Land of Oz,” you recite your mandatory introduction and avoid looking at Bucky, “don’t stray too far or you might find a wicked witch or flying monkey to carry you off. May I start you with some drinks?”
“You got cocktails at a joint like this?” Bucky scoffs.
You refuse to look at him, “the menu’s right there.” You point beside the centerpiece. He chuckles.
“This is cute, how’d you find this place, Buck?” The blond asks. The man better known as Captain America.
“Hmm, this place would be fun to you two geriatrics,” their other companion says. That’s the Falcon.
You can feel Bucky watching you. He’s smirking. You know it. At least when you see him, you only ever have your stupid dress on. You take the wig and makeup off before you go home. It attracts less weirdos.
“So, we do have beer, despite what you might think,” you offer.
“Got prune juice? These two need it--” Falcon, rather Sam Wilson, chortles and receives an elbow to the ribs.
“We have cranberry,” you suggest.
“Where’s Toto?” Bucky asks.
You hold back as sigh and finally meet his eyes, “no dogs allowed.”
“Damn, sounds like you should go then, eh, Buck,” Sam adds. You grin as he cackles.
“Hey,” Bucky sneers. “Just water for me.”
“No milk to keep your bones strong?” The Captain, or Steve, kids.
“You’re a year younger, shut up,” Bucky huffs.
“I’ll get a water too,” Steve smirks.
“Get me a Miller,” Sam says, “please.”
“No problem. I’ll be back with that and some menus.”
You spin and strut away. It feels good to see him getting teased because you know he only came here to mock you. You can’t exactly follow him to his work and make fun of his arm. Not that you would.
You get the water and beer and return to the table with menus under your arm. You hand them all out and give them some time to look over it. You check in with your other tables before you go back again.
“So, have we made up our minds?” You smile.
Steve smiles at you, “uh, can I ask what kinda fish it is?”
“Cod, sir,” you answer as you lean in to see where he points on the menu.
“Ah, thanks.”
“You got any recommendations?” Sam asks.
“I usually go straight to dessert,” you smile, “but the spaghetti is yummy. And you can get it spicy.”
“Oh, you like it spicy?” Bucky snickers.
You look at him and Steve clears his throat, “Buck.”
“Yikes, dude. You got lines, huh?” Sam teases.
“No, I just--” he gets flustered and rolls his eyes. “Can I have the cheeseburger and fries?”
“Sure thing,” you take out your notepad.
“I’ll have the fish and chips,” Steve says, “is it possible to add an extra filet?”
“Yeppers,” you nod and jot it down.
“Think I’ll get the meatball sandwich,” Sam says, “apparently, I like meatballs.”
Steve scowls again and Bucky sighs. You tap your pen on the pad, “alrighty. I’ll go put your order in.”
“Thanks, doll.” Sam winks at you.
You smile and as you turn, you hear Bucky hiss, “doll? Since when do you call anyone doll?”
You make a face but don’t pay much mind to their arguing. He did mention his other friends could be a bit much. Based on that interaction, you’d say he’s just as bad.
You put the ticket in the window and turn back. As you go back to the family to get the bill and your tip, your eyes snag on Bucky. He cranes around to see you and waves at you with two fingers. Oh, you have to get him back for this.

A Yuri on Ice canon divergent fic where they’re both in the Olympic Village during the 2014 Winter Games and Yuuri is the guy going viral on social media due to his obsession with the chocolate muffins.
(With apologies to Norwegian swimmer Henrik Christiansen, who has been taking us all on a very amusing journey on TikTok)
Viktor, reigning champion of going viral on social media during the Olympics for (but not limited to): being an obsessive dog dad, being GORGEOUS, being friendly with everyone and showing up in the background of multiple parties, the orgy rumour (fake), the other orgy rumour (not fake but super overblown), winning two consecutive golds in 2006 and 2010, walking outside shirtless (it was 5 degrees Celsius so not even cold), and currently for being in many of the Sochi Games ads.
But then the tags are being taken over by this very cute man eating a choccy muffin and exclaiming it the best muffin ever, following that up multiple muffin videos set to popular references.
[audio: mmmm whatchu saaay. visual: Yuuri then shoving the whole muffin in his mouth]
And Viktor doesn’t know who he is but needs to find out.
(cue comedy of errors where Viktor keeps coming across this Yuuri
instead of this Yuuri.
Chris is less than 0 help because he keeps looking horrified every time Viktor asks and looking over at this Yuuri
practicing like 5 feet away like ????? What the fuck Viktor.
And Viktor is spending way too much time in front of the dessert bar not to try the muffin at least once)

Fictober Day 19: Spare Moments
Prompt: "This is getting ridiculous"
For the anon who asked for a story where Mulder and Scully are bowling. Bonus points for them eating hot dogs. Rating: T, wc: 1,008.
Tagging @today-in-fic @xffictober24
They’re not on a date. She repeats the words in her head like a mantra. This isn’t a date; it can’t be.
Or is it a date?
She steals glances at Mulder, sipping his beer, chatting with the Gunmen, and occasionally checking up on her. They’re just two friends hanging out at a bowling alley. There’s nothing unusual about it at all. She takes a sip from her own beer at the exact moment that Mulder looks over at her. He’s smiling hard, his face devoid of worry.
But maybe it’s a date, after all.
After Mulder's impromptu baseball lesson, she went through the same spiel last week. Had that been a date? Was him asking her to join the Gunmen and a few others for a friendly game of bowling a date? She hasn’t been this mystified by matters of the heart since she was 16 years old and waiting for the boy she liked to ask her out. Mulder hasn’t asked her out, has he?
“You want a hot dog, Scully?” She’s been so tangled in her thoughts that she hasn’t noticed Mulder walk up to her. He sits down and their legs press together.
“What?”
“A hot dog. Frohike says they sell the best hot dogs he’s ever had here. I don’t know how accurate that description is, but you do look dazed, and I didn’t want to be a bad d- friend.”
She stares at him, wondering what word he just stumbled over, and whether he’s been having similar thoughts to hers.
“I wouldn’t mind a hot dog.” His face lights up and there’s that smile again. “It’s almost your turn, though.” She points at the board where their names are written down. They’re on the same team. Langly tried to split them up, but neither Mulder nor Frohike would stand for it.
I’ll be quick,” he promises, touching her shoulder in passing as he rushes over to the snack bar.
“Where is lover boy going?” Her eyes following Mulder, Scully is surprised to see Frohike take the place next to her.
“To get hot dogs,” Scully replies.
“They’re good,” Frohike says and she gets the feeling he wants to say more. But true to his word, Mulder returns a moment later, a hot dog in each hand.
“I hope you’re right about these.” Mulder hands one of the hot dogs to Scully and takes a bite from his own. “Well, you weren’t wrong,” he says with his mouth full.
“Mulder, you’re up,” Langly yells, holding out a bowling ball to him. Still chewing, he hands his hot dog to Scully.
“Can you hold this?” he asks with a grin and she just nods. She watches as he takes the ball and effortlessly throws a strike. Byers – as part of their team – cheers and claps. Mulder, however, only has eyes for Scully. His grin is victorious and sweeter than any dessert she’s ever sampled.
“Your hot dog,” she says at the same time as he says, “did you see that?” They realize their faux pas and laugh, grinning at each other.
“This is getting ridiculous,” Frohike says with a snort. Until now, she’d forgotten he was sitting next to her. “Get it together, you two. This is a family place.” He stomps off to the ball rack, searching for one that works for him.”
“I still have your hot dog,” Scully tries again, trying to ignore what their friend just said.
“Thank you,” Mulder says, but instead of taking it from her hand, he lowers his head, and bites a piece off, smiling up at her. All she can do is stare at him, speechless. “Bowling fingers,” he says, wriggling them at her before he takes the food from her hand.
“It’s good, isn’t it? Frohike was right.” She’s telling the truth, but she no longer feels hungry. What did Frohike mean? What does this evening mean? This isn’t the first time she’s been invited to join Mulder and the Gunmen. Yet, it feels like something has shifted. It had shifted before their baseball lesson. Before, they’d move at a glacial pace and now they’re speeding ahead. It’s giving her whiplash.
“He was right,” Mulder says, his voice so soft that she turns to face him. “About the hot dog, but also about this getting ridiculous.”
“What do you mean?” She swallows hard.
“Nothing, just-”
“Your turn, Scully.” It’s Frohike. Everyone is watching her as she hands Mulder the rest of her hot dog and she walks up to the ball rack. She finds her bowling ball easily enough; she’s got the smallest hands.
She takes a deep breath, calculates at what speed she should throw, and at what angle. If only her mind wasn’t so distracted. Mulder was about to say something just now. What is getting ridiculous? Is it them? Is this a date?
The bowling ball feels heavy in her hand, but not as heavy as her emotions somersaulting. She realizes that it doesn’t matter. What matters is how she interprets it.
The question is whether she wants this to be a date. She feels Mulder’s eyes on her back. He’s waiting for her to make a decision, too. In the end, it’s easier than she thought it would be. She throws the ball and holds her breath. Both teams erupt in joy as all the pins fall.
Strike.
She turns around, grinning, and the others cheer and holler. Mulder flashes her a smile, waiting for her to return to him.
“You’re amazing, Scully,” he says, breathless.
“Mulder, is this a date?” The words tumble from her mouth and the corner of his mouth switches.
“That depends.”
“On what?”
“Whether you want it to be one or not.”
“What if I do?”
“Then it is one.”
“Good.” She grabs her hot dog from his hand, leaning into him. Her free hand hesitates before landing on his thigh – it might be new, but it feels right. In that moment, she decides that this is her space now, her quiet claim on him.

Hips Don't Lie part 2
Pairing: Henry Cavill x Hispanic/Latina! Reader
Summary: Y/N invites Henry Cavill to a carne asada after a month of dating
Warning: probably some stereotypical Latina/Mexican things because I'm half Mexican, no translated Spanish, unwanted comments from an aunt about weight (for me it’s with my mom) and about Henry, spelling and grammar errors
After a month of dating, Henry and Y/N were at his place, they were cooking tallarines saltado. Everything was going well and Y/N got a text.
“Give me a minute, guapo.” Y/N said, washing her hands to check her phone. It was a text from her mom. “Hey Henry, how do you feel about going to a carne asada? It’s this weekend, I know it’s a little soon to be meeting my parents, but I really don’t want to go alone.”
“Darling, it’s fine, I’ll go with you to the barbecue.” Henry said. He put the cut up steak into a pan to cook it along with the onions and tomatoes. “Why don’t you want to go alone?”
“Because my mom and my aunts are all going to be like ‘y el novio?’ Like I’m 32, not married or engaged, in their eyes…something is wrong. So please, my handsome British boyfriend, come with me to the carne asada.” Y/N practically begged, having her hands together in a praying motion.
“Yes, my tiny dancer, I’ll go to the carne asada.” Henry said, kissing her forehead and she was pouting with her arms crossed.
“I am not tiny, You’re just big.” Y/N said and her eyes widened at the last part of her sentence.
“In more ways than one.” Henry winked and kissed her. “Do we have to bring anything?” Y/N looked at him in a ‘are you kidding me’ kind of way. “Sorry, what are we bringing?”
“That’s better, and that depends. My mom usually makes her agua de Jamaica which is hibiscus water, don’t ask how it got the name, and red rice. Obviously my uncles bring the meat, um, I’m thinking, someone usually brings dessert which is like fruit salad and cookies, uh, carajo, no puedo pensar. Okay, I got it, we can make alfajores and picarones, mainly because I crave it.” Y/N said,
“What about really food? Should we bring macaroni salad?” Henry asked
“Never in my life have I ever seen macaroni salad at these carne asadas (I’m using my own experiences, obviously). We could make pasta though and like that we could eat some before we go and the rest we take it there.” Y/N said.
“Why would we eat before we go to the carne asada if we’re going to eat there?” Henry asked.
“Ay, amorcito, there’s so much You need to learn. Just in case there’s something you don’t like, and they never really start grilling right when you come in, it’s usually an hour after everyone’s there so you won’t be starving.” Y/N said.
“Alright, I’ll make the list so we can go shopping tomorrow. Now, I know this is going to be a stupid question, but what do I wear?” Henry asked.
“It’s not stupid at all. So again, my mom taught to dress presentable for whatever ‘event’ so like dress semi formal but summery.” Y/N said and Henry looked at her confused. “Just wear your khaki pants your navy or light blue button down.” Henry nodded.
It was the night before the carne asada and Y/N and Henry were in Y/N’s kitchen, their dessert is chilling, her dog Concha laying down in her bed (any breed you want), and they’re going over the family tree.
“Yeimy is my favorite cousin, she’s a music producer, love her to death. Then we have Juan Luis, Yeimy’s brother, kinda mujeriego, me entiendes, very fuckboy, but he’s a lawyer so we’re friendly. There’s my Tia chela, but you have to call her Graciela until she says you can call her Chela. Now Chela comments on my weight, a lot more than my mom does pero eso es otra cosa aparte.” Y/N said, showing pictures of each family member to Henry.
“Okay…who is Veronica?” Henry asked.
“She’s my mom’s friend from church, I don’t think she’ll be here though, she’s in Colombia.” Y/N said, looking for her photo to show him.
“And we’re going to your mom’s house for the carne asada?” Henry asked.
“Yes, I got her a house with a nice yard, my dad has the grill with the charcoal y todo. Now if there’s anything special that you want to drink or eat, get it tomorrow morning, we have to be there at 2.” Y/N said, now cleaning up the kitchen. So are you staying the night so you can help me with everything or are you coming here early in the morning?”
“I got all stuff in my car, I’m staying the night. I’ll just bring it in.” Henry said, he opened the door to leave and Concha got up from her bed to leave with Henry. “Nope, not you, just me.”
The day of the carne asada, Henry was in the driving with Y/N carrying the alfajores and picarones, the pasta in the backseat with Concha chilling so she could see her cousins. Y/N was wearing a sundress with wedge sandals.
“Okay, when you go in your obviously say hello to everyone, depending on whether the women of my family lean in, it’s a hug and a kiss on the cheek. It’s not a real kiss, it’s more of a cheek touch and the kiss sound, and with the men, again, obviously a handshake.” Y/N reminded him.
“Darling, I know everything, please relax.” Henry said.
“I cant relax, they never met any of my partners before.” Y/N said.
“Well i feel very special now.” Henry said.
“You should.” Y/N said.
Henry parked on the street, they go out of the car, Henry helping Y/N with the food as she put Concha on a leash so they could go to the house.
“Mami, ya llegamos!” Y/N yelled as she opened the gate to enter the yard.
“Ay Y/N, mi niña, cómo estás, amor? Y trajiste a supermán! Sabía que tenías amigos famosos pero nunca pensé de esta altura.” Y/N’s mom, Carolina, said.
“Ah mami, él se llama Henry, es mi novio, pero habla inglés, por favor.” Y/N told her mom.
“Oh my god, Henry, it’s so good to meet you. Finally my daughter has a boyfriend!” Carolina said and Y/N looked away to roll her eyes (because who the hell rolls their eyes in front of the their mothers, right?) “Princesa, has subido de peso? Te está saliendo un poquito la panza, no? Bueno, deja toda la comida en las mesa que no falta poco para llegar lo demás gente.” Carolina said and walked away to get paper plates and plastic utensils for everyone.
“What did she tell you?” Henry asked,
“Nothing it doesn’t matter, just put the food on the table, okay? Come on, Concha, let’s take you out your harness.” Y/N said and placed the food on the table to let her dog loose and Concha started running on the grass with Carolina’s cavalier King Charles spaniel, Honey. A few minutes, the cousins came, there was Yeimy, Juan Luis, Fabian (Peluche) and his wife Cecilia (Chiquis), Irma and her husband Erick, María José and her husband Diego, Alfonso (Poncho), and Maite.
“Prima, que bueno verte! Ooh, look at you, love the dress, you look so good.” Irma said, letting her Maltese, Cinnamon, off leash, Cinnamon ran to Concha.
“My mom didn’t think so, que bueno verte.” Y/N said, hugging her and kissing her cheek.
“Ay, no la escuchas, you look Great.” Yeimy said, placing what she brought on the table as well.
“Quien es el güerito?” Peluche asked, letting his german shepherd, Roscoe, off his leash
“Ay Peluche, mira quien habla de güerito. Anyway, everyone, this is my boyfriend, Henry.” Y/N introduced Henry.
“Hello, it’s a pleasure to meet you all.” As Y/N told him, Henry greeted the girl cousins with a hug and let them kiss his cheek while shaking hands with the boy cousins.
“You landed Superman? The Witcher? How did you do that?” Maite asked. Y/N was going to answer but the tias and tíos came in as well.
“Hola hola! Carolina, ya llegamos! A ver, gordita, arrímate otra mesa, si?” Tía Chela told Y/N and Y/N did as she was told, she pulled another table to they could also place the food. Henry was saying hello to everyone. “Y mija, segura que es fiel? Como que es muy guapo, ha trabajado con mujeres como tú amiga Eiza, con la mujer maravilla, no sé, me parece raro que esté contigo.”
“Ay mamá, deja de escupir tu veneno a ella, ve con mi papá que está juntado al heladera para las bebidas.” María José said and Chela left reluctantly.
“Thanks, Majo.” Y/N said,
“I grew up with her criticizing me, can’t have her do the same to you. Look at us, we’re in our 30s and we still care about what our mothers say.” Majo said,
“Eso nunca va a cambiar.” Y/N said and she walked back to Henry where he was listening to her Tío Juancho (Juan Camilo) telling a story about his camping trip.
“Hey, pececita, I was just telling your boyfriend about the time I went camping,” Juancho said, hugging and kissing Y/N.
“So glad you’re back, love.” Henry said, wrapping his arm around her waist and kissed her cheek.
“Oye Henry’s ven conmigo un momento, come with me.” Y/N’s dad, Carlos, told Henry, tapping his shoulder.
“Papi, que vas a hacer?” Y/N asked.
“Nada mija, es como male bonding, help me grill, Superman.” Carlos said.
“Papi!” Y/N whined.
“Ve con tus primos, princesa.” Carlos said.
“It’s alright, maybe it’s a good thing.” Henry said, kissing Y/N to ease her worries. Henry went with Carlos to the grilled, grabbing the tray of seasoned meats to cook.
“So, Superman, how long have you been dating my daughter?” Carlos asked, sipping a bit of modelo beer.
“Not long, a month.” Henry answered.
“You think of dating her for longer?” Carlos asked.
“Of course, sir.” Henry said,
“Ah, escucha eso, ‘sir’, mira que respetuoso me salió. Listen, Y/N is a good girl, she worked hard in her music, bought this house for me y mi mujer, and if you break her heart or hurt her in anyway, I know some people.” Carlos threatened and Henry got paler.
Carlos laughed. “Ah, te estoy vacilando, it was a joke, you seem like a good person, you know how to grill?” Henry let out a breath of relief.
“Yeah, yes, I know how to grill.” Henry said.
“Good, pass me the orange container, it has the ribs.” Carlos said. Henry did what he was told and gave Y/N a thumbs up. Y/N gave him one back.
“You think your güero can eat what we brought?” Diego asked.
“Let’s hope so, as long as he doesn’t add salsa, it should be fine.” Y/N said. She looked over to where Henry was grilling with her dad, they’re gonna last, maybe not forever, but they would totally last.
Everyone was eating.
“Mija, te salió muy bien la pasta.” Carolina said.
“Gracias, me ayudó Henry también.” Y/N said, making sure she knew.
“Who knew you could cook, Henry, and with seasoning.” Carolina said, sitting down to eat. Henry looked at Y/N and she put her hands up in surrender. Everyone was serving themselves until.
“Haz platos para sus hombres también, que no se te olvide.” Chelis announced.
“Ay mamá, mas anticuada no puedes ser, ellos tienen manos, que se sirven solos.” Majo told her mom.
“Whats happening?” Henry whispered in Y/N’s ear.
“Do you see why I couldn’t come here alone? Just don’t serve yourself any salsa, the sauces are usually very spicy, the rest should be good to eat. There’s tacos dorados that have potatoes, some are chicken, others are beans, it’s a surprise. Take one of each, I’m sure you’ll like it.” Y/N whispered back to him. Everyone serves their own plate porque así debe ser, and they were all chatting, mainly trying to get to know Henry.
“So Henry, You’re a good looking man, why are you here with Y/N? I’m sure you can do a lot better.” Chela said and Majo states at her mom and mouthed her apology to Y/N.
“Has she been telling you this the entire time? Asking why I’m here with you?” Henry asked Y/N and Y/N just nodded. Henry stood up from his seat. “Listen, Graciela, I fell for Y/N the moment I saw her, I don’t know what you have been telling her since we got here but I have had enough. She didn’t want to come here alone and now I know why. If she shows up alone, you’ll ask why she doesn’t have a boyfriend, she shows up with me, you ask her why I’m here with her, that’s enough.” Henry said, Y/N pulled his arm to sit him back down.
“Perdón, Y/N, que Pena contigo.” Chela said and Y/N just nodded, it was nice to have someone other than her cousins defend her. “I’m sorry to you too, Henry.” Henry nodded his head and everyone continued eating. By the time they were finished, they went their “separate ways”.
In the carne asada, there were 3 sections, where the cousins were talking about their memories, what they’ve been up to. The aunts and her mom were talking about neighborhood gossip and about their kids. And of course the uncles and her dad drinking and talking about whatever.
“How did you and Henry meet?” Maite asked again.
“Well my coworker Eiza wanted to set me up with her, saying she was going to be at the after party. I didn’t want to be set up but when I went to the after party, I saw this beautiful woman dancing like she was the only one in the room, she captured everyone’s attention, including mine. Eiza noticed I was staring at the dancer and it turned out to be Y/N so Eiza called her over and there you have it.” Henry told them.
“Mira eso, prima, lo dejaste embobado desde el primer momento.” Ponchó said, petting Concha that went up to him.
“Así es, I thank our parents for playing Shakira when we were growing up.” Y/N said, raising her beer bottle to toast.
“Speaking of Shakira, how did you dance when he spotted you?” Chiquis asked, connecting her phone to the Bluetooth speaker that Peluche carried. It started playing the song ‘hips don’t lie’ and everyone was cheering ‘oh’.
“Alright, alright, I’ll show y’all.” Y/N said, getting up from her chair, handing Henry her beer. “It was something like this.”
Everyone was cheering, Henry was whistling, they were just having a good time.
“Pero ya, i guess that’s how Henry fell for me.” Y/N said, sitting on Henry’s lap now, taking her beer form his hand.
“You have no idea, sweetheart.” Henry kissed her.
“Mira Que lindo, pero no sé comen delante de los pobres.” Juan Luis said, sipping his beer.
“No que tienes novia, hermano?” Yeimy asked.
“Pero no está aquí, boba.” Juan Luis said.
“Wait Henry, why did you really like my dancing?” Y/N asked.
“You want the really answer or the savory answer?” Henry asked and Y/N hit his chest playfully. “Alright, alright, you were having fun, I wanted to be with someone I could have fun with. That, and the way you moved your hips gave me an idea of how you would be in other activities.” Henry smirked and Y/N laughed.
“Ay, you’re so dirty.” Y/N said, placing her head in the crook of his neck. “How you like my family?”
“I think I could come over more often, if you invite me, of course.” Henry said.
“Of course.” Y/N repeated and they kissed, his hands on her waist.

warnings: Soobin and reader share a bath together but it’s just fluff note: I hope we’ve got some Swifties here! inspired by Paris by Taylor Swift. I've listened to it a thousand times but one day it prompted this idea.
☆ gender neutral reader
TXT member Choi Beomgyu spotted out and about with a date!
When the photos hit the internet, you weren't even in the country. Neither you or Soobin saw the articles, the tweets, messages from the band's management, or even teasing texts from the members. You were so far removed from it all, and blissfully happy.
It was the longest vacation you'd had together, with Soobin finally having the time off to travel out of Seoul. Sure, you'd gone with the boys for tours when allowed, but it was finally just you and your boyfriend – in a place where he wouldn't be recognised, and with no work schedules to squeeze time together around.
For the first couple of days, you didn't leave the hotel room, the 'Do Not Disturb' sign a blessing. No early calls, no waking up to knocks on the door or an empty bed. Just sleeping in, waking up and ordering lunch, then napping together or watching a movie. You didn't even mind the jet lag; it was a good excuse to stay in bed and cuddle.
On the fourth day of your stay, you explored the hotel, making it to the in-house restaurant for breakfast. The place was quiet – off season at this time of year, the waitress explained. There was a moment where you thought she recognised Soobin, with the way her eyes kept flicking up and between the two of you as she wrote down your order, but then, as she leant down to take your menus, she smiled and made a comment about how cute of couple you were. Soobin grinned, half shy and half proud, reaching for your hand and placing a kiss to the skin as you were left to yourselves again.
☆
It's a change of pace to walk around the city and not have phones pointed at Soobin. To not hear screams or gasps or whispers at every turn. The two of you wander freely, sans masks or dark sunglasses, in the light of day. There's plenty of time to dawdle, enjoying the sights, going wherever you're drawn to go. The city is beautiful, and shopkeepers and cafe owners greet you with friendly smiles as you stop by.
The freedom Soobin feels is evident in the way he carries himself and how he keeps looking over to grin at you. You find an ice cream parlour and share the dessert on a bench, watching birds and clouds, the occasional person passing by with a cute dog that you both get excited over. When you move to get up, Soobin grabs your hand and tugs you back to his side, wrapping an arm around you with a chuckle. The sunlight and cool breeze lull you into a somewhat tranquil state. You don't think about home or what's to come after this retreat from real life. Meandering back to the hotel as the sun is setting, you catch a mesmerising sunset from the viewpoint of your room's balcony.
☆
The bath tub in your hotel room is big enough for the both of you – two and a half, you tease at the way your boyfriend's feet stick out over the edge. Still, this was a luxury you never got at home; the tub at both of your addresses too small to fit the two of you at once. And, you point out, it's nice to enjoy a quiet bath without rambunctious maknaes playing doorbell dash in an otherwise quiet hotel. Maknes and Yeonjun, Soobin adds.
He plays quiet music on his phone to add to the atmosphere, humming along softly as he places his hands on your shoulders, applying gentle pressure until he feels the muscles relax. Then, he picks up one of your hands from the edge of the tub to trace with his finger, eyes following the lines of your palm. You watch, almost hypnotised, as his large fingers fold over yours, the rest of you encapsulated between his long arms and legs. Between the low lighting of the bathroom, the warmth of the bath, and his voice, you're sent into a light sleep, only waking when you're pulled from the water, which has turned lukewarm.
You mumble an appoplogy, eyes opening for only a moment before they droop to a close again, and he whispers something back, but you don't take it in; mind and body too relaxed. Feeling the mattress underneath you as he sets you down on your back, you sense something being wrapped around you and realise it's one of the hotel robes, but you can't find the will to help him get your arms into the sleeves. You hear yourself giggle and Soob's chuckle echo back, his forehead pressing against yours for a moment before it's gone, and you wonder why. Thoughts of how much you love this – feeling like you're in your own little world, where there's only the two of you – flood your mind, and you almost start to drift off again until you hear the sheets rustle beside you.
Soobin's hair tickles your jaw as he kisses your neck, arms finding your waist in the dark. His skin is warm and still damp, and this somehow adds to how sleepy you feel. Your arms are too heavy to reach for him. Soon, his movements still, his cheek resting against your collar bone, and you're both out.
☆
It isn't until you're in the airport, full from breakfast at their swanky little restaurant, and having perused all the little shops to pass time, that Soobin finally sits down and opens his messaging app to flick his members a selfie of the two of you with your luggage and sad faces to say you're on your way back. His eyebrows draw together, lips moving wordlessly as he sees how many unread texts are in the group chat. But not just normal conversation that's been going on without him, as his eyes register your name multiple times. Scrolling back, he finds the first message he hasn't seen – a link to a popular tabloid. The first thing he sees is a candid photo, definitely Beomgyu, and definitely you, though thankfully most of your face is obscured by the shadows of night as you walk from the back door of a stadium to a waiting van. Then he sees the title. The members apparently find it hilarious, but as he backs out of the group chat and sees numerous messages from management and other staff, he knows the company isn't taking it as lightly.
He clicks his phone as you sit down beside him, and despite the storm that he knows is coming, he can't help but smile at how content and loved-up you still look. He decides he'll wait to fill you in, let you enjoy the end of the trip. He himself feels like he's on a love high, his heart warming up as you thread your arm through his and drop your head to his shoulder.

Dating Headcanons
Jujutsu Kaisen
Nobara and Maki's here
Itadori and Megumi's here
Sukuna and Naoya's here
☆ Gojo Satoru ☆
First of all, all the best. You really need it.
He's a menace.
Will wake you up at 3am and ask you stuff like "Do you think bugs will take over the world someday? They're tiny but I'm really scared of them."
"Satoru what the actual fu-?"
He would mostly only date someone if he was 100% sure that they could protect themselves or if he could be there for them.
But if he did start liking someone seriously, he would not cheat. He has found the one and there is no reason to drive them away.
He acts happy and carefree in front of others but in front of his lover he crumbles.
He's able to be weak for once and cry and cry and cry. please hug him, he deserves it.
Sometimes he gets really whiny and cuddly and won't let you go even if you both cuddled for the whole day.
"I got you some souvenirs from my mission!"
You take him to meet your parents and he manspreads the entire couch. So, your dad has to bring a chair from the dining table and sit on it. Asks your dad stupid questions to annoy him. "Why can't we just print more money?" everyone pretends not to notice the TV remote chucked at him
Flirts with your grandma. She loves him.
Eats the dessert your mom made and only the dessert. Your dad has to warn him about diabetes. i wonder if he has a lot of cavities
Your mom and grandma really love him but your dad hates his guts.
He's just a 6'3 tall babie who likes sweets and you :)
☆ Geto Suguru ☆
When I tell you this man is boyfriend, husband and baby daddy material.
He is THE man. The only man ever. gojo you lucky lucky man
Treats you SO WELL that you start thinking he's imaginary 'cause no way anybody is THIS perfect.
This is the Geto Suguru before defecting btw.
Never forgets any of the important dates like your birthday, your mom's birthday etc etc
"Hey, isn't it your second cousin's dog's birthday today?"
Lots of friendly banter. He looooves giving you silly little nicknames. He looks at you lovingly and goes, "My little tolerable monkey" jkjk
He's a human heater. Always warm no matter the weather. You wouldn't even need a blanket when you sleep next to him. He will put his arm and leg around you and snuggle his face in your hair.
You weren't scared at all to introduce him to your parents. He instantly becomes your family's favorite and they forget about you and keep Geto forever :(
Helps your mom in cooking dinner, setting the table and washing the dishes. Helps your dad to fix the light bulb and engages him in deep conversations.
Helps you wash your hair when you're feeling too tired. Will also cook you your favorite food and try to cheer you up.
Sometimes he gets really angry during arguments but he always makes sure to think things over and apologize if he said something hurtful to you. He makes sure the issue is solved and that the both of you are happy.
The best boyfriend to ever boyfriend. except he became evil and died
reblogs are appreciated :)

Back for seconds~- Rosie x fem reader One Shot
A/N: Hi Hi no I did not just disappear from tumblr for like 3 weeks no what do you mean? Anyway, here’s a Rosie x reader because we need more of those as a community. Come on Hazbin Tumblr, we can do it! art: @bat-boness on tumblr ^^
·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ೃ⁀➷🤍♡🤍☁️ೃ⁀➷·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳
"Rrrossiee, I loovee you sooo soo mucch" You slur your words as you head into the restaurant's bathroom, hand in hand with your partner. You were originally supposed to leave the facility after dessert, but your cannibalistic bae had other ideas in mind, especially as she saw you in this state of intoxication.
She’s mean that way.
She gently drags you into the first stall, and pushes you up against the wall.
"Stay quiet for me, my sweet?" Rosie giggles, and gentle pecks your neck.
"Goodness knows what will happen if anyone saw an overlord in such a state of disarray, hm?"
"I don't care, as long as I have my Rosie with me," You give her a sloppy kiss, which she returns, pleased. She then attends to biting and sucking on your neck, guiding her hands in between your chest under your shirt, with your drunken ass whimpering at the stimulation.
"I swear, you are going to be the death of me," you mutter under your breath. The smug Overlord taps spreads your legs with her porcelain and soft hands. You shiver as your legs split, inviting her to do God knows what. “But it doesn’t matter, because I looovee youuu~”
Rosie hums, while you ramble on, tending to your went cunt dripping beads of precum.
Her hands rub between your bud, causing you to make not so family friendly sounds.
You look up at the bright ceiling, panting like a dog in the summer, and you feel Rosie tug at your tie, signalling for you to not to look away. You oblige, your darling partner calls the shots as far as you're concerned.
"Hng, Rosie, go slower, I can't keep up," your pleas are heard, but Rosie does the exact opposite of your request, gnawing on your clit with her fangs, making your moans louder and more frequent. She then suck the blood that she drew from you.
You gasp when you feel the tug of your tie choke you a little too much for comfort.
"Apple Pie, I thought I said be quiet. It's rude to be disruptive in public spaces you know~"
You whine quietly in response.
Which continues Rosie and her session of lapping up all the juices flowing out of you.
Unfortunately, it wasn't long until you've reached your climax; you couldn't contain yourself anymore.
Rosie must have sensed it too, because her claws dig into your thighs, a warning to not dare come on her face.
Dear Rosie must looove making you suffer, eh? The pulse in your wet cunt is like a heartbeat. Your insides coil and contract, begging to release its load.
And just you were about to give up and let it all out, Rosie stops, looks up at your dishevelled, flushed and sweating face, and does nothing except let out a devillish cackle.
Goodness, you've always loved her laugh, but this time, it just sent blood rushing to your cheeks.
"I- need a moment-" You mumble to fix up your appearance.

"Well, that was quite the sustainful meal" Rosie sighs at her reflection in the mirror, looking pleased with herself, and fixing her lipstick.
"Rossieee, that was soo meaaan!" You whine.
Her only reply is another giggle and gives you a peck on the cheek, leaving you with a ghostly black lip mark on your face.
"Aw, don't fret my sweet, I'll make it up to you later"

brownies
December 2, 2019
Hayden walked up to Connor and Leon’s house with Archie, she knocked on the door and heard Lenny bark once and the door opened revealing a smiling Lauren, “Hayden!” Lauren was beaming as she saw Hayden and pulled her into a quick hug, “I’m so glad you could come!”
“Thank you for having me.” Hayden politely said back and held up a dish, “I brought healthy brownies.” Hayden felt odd not brining anything and she has made a recipe for brownies that are diet friendly.
“Oh Connor is gonna love them.” Lauren smiled taking the dish knowing how much Connor loves chocolate.
Hayden un clicked Archie’s leash letting him into the house and start sniffing Lenny.
Another smaller dog came over to Archie and Lenny and started rubbing on Archie.
“That’s Bowie.” Lauren told Hayden as she led Hayden through her house and towards the living room where Connor, Leon and Celeste were sitting as the boys were watching a game.
Celeste had just gotten back in Edmonton the day before and she was excited to be able to meet Hayden.
Celeste looked up and beamed seeing Hayden she got up and walked over, “I’m Celeste! It’s so nice to finally meet you, Leon has told me so much about you.” Celeste kindly told the younger girl and held out her hand for a handshake.
“Hi i’m Hayden.” Hayden shook her hand, “Hopefully all good things?” Hayden asked teasingly with a small smirk.
“Oh definitely.” Celeste agreed laughing.
Hayden sat between Lauren and Celeste on the couch as Connor’s chef finished making dinner.
The dogs came trotting over and they all went right to Hayden, Hayden petted her dog first before petting the other two, “Hi Lenny and Bowie.” Hayden softly spoke to the two dogs and laughed slightly as Bowie jumped onto her lap and licked her cheek. Archie laid down on Hayden’s feet and Lenny rested his head on Hayden’s knees.
Lauren awed watching the dogs with Hayden and took a discrete photo of them and shared a soft smile with Celeste.
“Do you have plans for the holidays?” Celeste asked curiously wanting to know more about Hayden.
Hayden nodded, “Yeah my family is coming up here as i’m kinda in the middle of everyone.” Hayden told Celeste and Lauren who was apart of the conversation.
“Oh where do they all live?” Celeste titled her head curiously.
“Jack lives in Jersey playing for the Devils, Quinn lives in Vancouver playing for the Canucks and Ellen, Jim and Luke are in Michigan.” Hayden explained with a softer expression as she talked about the remaining of her family.
“How long have you know all of them?” Lauren asked knowing that the Hughes are family to Hayden.
“Since i was four and they moved in next store to me.” Hayden told the girls making them nod.
The chef finished dinner and they all got up heading to the dining table, Hayden sat at the end of the table with Lauren and Celeste on her other sides and the boys next to their own girlfriend.
Hayden made a humming sound as she took a bite of the pasta, it was an incredible, “Connor you’re not allowed to get rid of Sheridan.” Hayden sternly told Connor as she absolutely loved the food from the Chef.
Connor laughed, “Don’t worry i won’t.”
“He would never.” Lauren smirked teasingly at her boyfriend, she loves having a chef and loves how amazing the food is.
Hayden actually spoke up in some of the conversations as they all ate dinner.
The table was cleared after they all finished eating and they stayed around just talking with each other.
Lauren got up and went into the kitchen and grabbed the dish of brownies and brought them to the table with some little plates, “Hayden made us dessert.” Lauren told everyone flashing a smile at Hayden.
“Heathy brownies.” Hayden shrugged casually with a slightly nervous smile as she hasn’t cooked or baked much for others since her parents died.
Connor made a surprised sound as he took a bite and it tasted incredible, “It’s so good. Is there sugar in this?” Connor asked Hayden.
“None.” Hayden answered smiling slightly glad everyone seems to like it, “It’s a family recipe my mom made it.” It was her mom that made the recipe for her father when he was playing hockey and wanted something sweet but still okay with his diet.
“Thank you for sharing it.” Lauren squeezed Hayden’s arm slightly having a feeling it wasn’t easy for Hayden to make the brownies and share the recipe.
Leon and Celeste left a little after dessert but Lauren and Connor managed to convince Hayden to stay a little longer.
“Have you seen Connor’s shooting room?” Lauren asked with a mischievous smile knowing Hayden would love it.
“No.” Hayden shook her head.
“Come on i’ll show you.” Connor told her and gestured for his young rookie to follow him and Lauren followed them as well down to the shooting room.
Connor opened the door to his shooting room turning the lights on, “You want a stick?” Connor offered seeing Hayden looking around and he could tell she was itching to shoot a few pucks.
Hayden nodded, “Please.”
Connor flashed a smile and grabbed one of his sticks knowing Hayden could use it just find as she is only slightly shorter than him.
Hayden nodded in thanks as she took the stick and Connor used another stick and passed over a few pucks for her to shoot.
Lauren sat down on the small couch in the shooting room that Connor and her had gotten for her so she could sit and be with Connor when Connor is in the room.
Lauren has always known Connor is a incredible Captain and leader but seeing how gentle he is with Hayden and the way he’s seemed to take on a mentor role with Hayden more than he has ever with anyone else, it was heartwarming to see.
Lauren knows Connor sees a lot of himself in Hayden and wants to protect her.

Pay it no mind
Part XXIII
In which reader confesses their feelings to Gojo, but it seems these are not returned (maybe?).
Warnings: reader is on the receiving end of rejection (kinda), and the fact that I'm obsessed with unrequited love is a warning itself. Drinking and alcohol are mentioned.
Previous: Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV, Part V, Part VI, Part VII, Part VIII, Part IX, Part X, Part XI, Part XII, Part XIII, Part IV, Part XV, Part XVI, Part XVII, Part XVIII, Part XIX, Part XX, Part XXI, Part XXII
----------------------
Through the years, Satoru had had many bad ideas. Like that time when you were kids, and he convinced you to trespass someone’s property to explore an abandoned house, and you were almost bitten by an angry dog. Or that time he dyed a strand of Suguru’s hair while he was sleeping, and Suguru sulked for three days straight.
Now, the way Satoru was staring down at Haruki made you realize this night might as well be joining the list of his bad ideas.
You had arrived at the restaurant with Shoko on time. The original plan had been for you and your friends to arrive together, and have Haruki join you there, but Satoru had been forcefully pulled into Yaga’s office last minute
“I’m sorry,” principal Yaga said, applying more pressure on the lock he currently had Gojo in. “I need to speak to professor Gojo for a minute.”
Gojo’s impromptu meeting with Yaga had resulted in Haruki arriving earlier than him and taking the seat Shoko had purposely left empty for Gojo to sit by your side. To say Gojo was not pleased when he arrived and had to take the spot next to Ieiri would be fairly accurate.
Not that he disliked Shoko in any way, but he would have preferred to sit by your side this night in particular, and, even if he had come here to finally gauge the kind of man Haruki after years of not having to exchange a word with him, having his face in front of him during the whole night was not exactly what he had in mind.
He understood Haruki had invited you, and that he and Shoko were technically your friends, not his, so of course, he would want to sit closer to you, but that thought did not ease Satoru’s mind.
“The appetizer is a cold soup, a recommendation of the chef.” Ikeda smiled for all. “And I did preselect the dishes, but please feel free to order anything you’d like from now on.”
He passed the wine menu in Shoko’s direction, and if you had ever seen her eyes shine, this was it.
“They also have a special desserts’ selection,” he went on, trying to show Satoru a friendly smile.
You made a mental note to commend Haruki’s efforts to make the dinner enjoyable for your friends later.
“Can I invite Satoru too?”
You thought the brief silence you heard on the line was hesitation, but then Ikeda’s voice came clear from your phone. “Of course! The more, the merrier. Is there anything specific they like? I’ll have my friend prepare it.”
“Don’t you say…” Satoru’s voice sounded disinterested, as if he was not the one with the sweetest tooth at the table. He kept looking at the menu. “These are a bit steep, aren’t they?”
You glared at him. Don't start with the passive-aggressive comments.
Since when did he care about price anyways?
“I guess they are.” Ikeda gave him an apologetic smile. “Not that you have to mind it though. Tonight’s on me.”
Not that he needs to mind either. He is wearing the whole menu’s worth in clothes, Ieiri thought, side eyeing Gojo and the expensive button-up white shirt he had on.
“Lucky us then... I’ll take you up on that.”
You wanted to give Satoru a good scolding look, but his eyes were locked with Ikeda’s.
Sigh... We just need to make it to the dessert.

Against all odds, Haruki’s efforts were proving to be fruitful to some extent. Who would have believed that not even Gojo Satoru himself would not be able to resist his charms?
After a rocky start, the conversation in the group had turned for the better, and by the end of the main course, it seemed like Shoko and Satoru were finally enjoying themselves.
It’s nice to see them like this for a change.
“You’re kidding!” Satoru’s smile to Haruki was nothing but genuine this time.
“I’m not! I’ll show it to you some day. It was tough to get his autograph but I’m glad I did it before he retired the year that followed.”
The subject at hand was a baseball autographed by Matsui Hideki that Haruki had gotten during a game he had gone to while he was abroad.
Finding out these two shared a liking for baseball made you smile.
Maybe, just maybe, they could bond over this and become friends.
“He did, right? Oh man, what a shame.”
Haruki glanced at Shoko who had been listening to the whole baseball-centered discussion with occasional nods when she remembered something Gojo had babbled about in the past, when he had forced you and her to watch a baseball game with him, but still, she was far more interested in her almost empty glass of wine.
“Please allow me.” Haruki grabbed the bottle of wine that had been left on ice aside on and poured some in Ieiri’s glass, to her delight, and in yours. Then he looked at Satoru’s untouched glass.
Gojo had prevented the waiter from serving him earlier and asked him for another drink instead, but that had already been finished. So, Haruki held up the bottle above the empty glass, ready to fill it, but Gojo covered it with his hand.
“Thanks, but I will not drink.”
“Oh, okay, got it.” Ikeda nodded, returning the bottle to the ice that was slowly melting as the night progressed.
Shoko smiled. “He’s a lightweight, that’s why he doesn’t drink,” she stated, nodding in Gojo’s direction.
“Is he?”
“You wouldn’t believe it if I told you.” You laughed. “The number of times I’ve had to look after his wasted ass.”
Even Gojo laughed and added “I’ve made you into an expert designated caretaker. You are most welcome.”
“Now that explains it. I’m glad I had an expert to take care of me the other day then,” Haruki was grinning at you but the laughter from the other side of your table was slowly fading out. You froze.
Oh, he mentioned that.
From the side of your eye, you saw Satoru tilt his head like a puppy. He did not know you and Haruki had a habit of going out for drinks. That was because you did not. That day had been an isolated event.
“You were not that drunk though,” Satoru watched you smile at the man next to you and sip your drink. “Anyway…”
We should change the subject.
But it seemed that the wine had loosened your friend's tongue because Ikeda leaned back and continued. “Oh, no, thank God we weren’t too drunk. If I had forgotten where I live, we would have had to go to a hotel. I bet you would have complained about the bed there too.”
If he says it like that, it sounds as if…
You shot a quick glance to Satoru. It was clearly visible there was something he had not liked about that phrase, and he looked back at you. You though you could read the question on his face.
What is he talking about?
“I hope the breakfast was worth the struggles though. I’ve been told I make the best French toast.”
That night… the bed... and the breakfast?
It did not take a genius to fill in the gaps among those elements with a colorful story.
“Who lied to you?” You half forced a smile and tried to stop Haruki’s rambling. Shoko had also smiled at your comment, but Satoru was starting to look out of sync with the mood.
“Okay, I may not be the best cook, but I make up for it in other areas, don’t you think, [name]” When Haruki said that and winked at you, the vision Gojo had been enticed to believe in the last hour finished crumbling, and he remembered who he was with and why.
“When?” he heard himself asking.
Was he asking you or Haruki? It did not matter; the latter’s focus turned to Gojo. “Sorry, what?” Gojo’s voice had been a bit too low to hear.
“When did you two go out drinking?”
“Oh, you asked when? Well…”
Haruki looked up as if searching for an answer in the air and then back at your face for confirmation. “Like two weeks ago?”
You did not miss the way Satoru's eyes shifted to you.
“It may not look like it, but your friend here,” Haruki's his arm found its way around your shoulders, “really knows how to hold their liquor. It was at this place that’s known for its sushi, but they share the establishment with a themed bar… Ieiri, you know it? It’s...”
Two weeks ago, Haruki had called you and asked you to meet with him for dinner and a few drinks afterwards, as friends of course, but you did not tell Satoru because…
He might have overreacted if I had told him that we were going to drink.
One look at Satoru was all it took for you to know the kind of math he was doing.
Two weeks ago…
Two weeks ago, Satoru had already told you he liked you.
Two weeks ago, he had already kissed you breathless in that empty street, and that night he had almost professed his love for you in your bedroom, but you had stopped him because you believed you were not ready.
He did not mind because two weeks ago, he had already been too immersed in this limbo he thought he could live in, having you as the friend he was in love with and who would let him step on some lines but not cross them.
Two weeks ago, he had been on a trip abroad to deal with one of those matters that were only assigned to him, and him only, because he was the strongest, but he did not feel like that now, because what exactly had you been doing two weeks ago?
“If you are trying to say we cannot both be their friends, I guess I would have to be something else then.”
Of course… Why had he not seen it coming?
I am the one stuck as a friend, aren’t I?
“Say, Dr. Ieiri, what is the medical explanation behind someone being a lightweight? I’m afraid I might be one myself.” Ikeda asked, shooting a playful smile to Gojo, which was not welcomed at the moment.
Shoko may have responded with an explanation about the various factors affecting how each person processed alcohol, but the words where muffled in Satoru’s ears because all he could hear was the beating of his own heart.
"Jeez... Can you be any ruder?"
"Yes, these are for you."
"No... I mean I like you, Satoru."
“I see.”
The pressure he was feeling in his chest, was it his heart breaking?
“Gojo, are you okay?”
No, he was not feeling okay, and he did not want to hear the voice of the man that was asking him that. He did not want to see his face either.
“Excuse me,” Satoru muttered more to himself than for anyone else and left the table.
Ieiri looked at your worried expression turned in the direction Satoru had gone. She was no fool, she had been surprised for a second too at the implications of Ikeda’s words but had not expected Gojo to seem affected.
Haruki frowned slightly. “Did I say something wrong?”
She tilted the glass she was holding in her hands, appreciating the red liquid inside.
Can't be helped. That box was long overdue for opening.

hello i would love to hear about culturally specific dishes in the blightseed setting. what do the animals taste like hows their fat content... herbs and seasonings and the trades involved perhaps..... hows the salt economy? love your setting and if you have a list of ingredients i will invent meals in my head and be well satisfied... i just love food and cooking in world building it is so important to me :-)
OK this is crazy because I had literally just cooked a Lore Friendly Meal the night before I got this ask.
Since this is a super broad question gonna default to Imperial Wardin since that's what I'm writing in right now and has the most developed food economy. (Sorry.)
This region currently dominates the eastern Inner Seas tradeway so has a very broad access to imported foods and spices, and many of its staples are not originally native to the region. Its regional cuisine is quite diverse and varied, largely owing to its status in the tradeway and a long history of immigration to the region (as well as a wide variety of native regional variations in diet).
For simplicity's sake I'm mostly going to stick to staples that are grown in-region (whether native or not) or commonly imported. Also mostly sticking to domesticated plant life, or very common and easily acquired wild plants. (Also not all these plants/herbs/spices would be 1:1 with real-world equivalents, or would be of unique variants that don't exist irl, but if they're basically the same thing I use the IRL word)
Staple base foods: maize, barley, wheat, and rice (closer to O. glaberrima than O. sativa), red yam (a yam regarded as very delicious), white yam (a hardier but poorer tasting yam, often associated with poverty), cassava, chickpeas, other legumes.
Staple vegetables (regionally varies): Cabbage, lettuce, okra, onions, garlic, chili peppers, celery, peas, kolis (a drought tolerant, cactus-like plant. Young stems are tender and edible), camiche (a tree that produces edible seedpods and young leaves).
Staple fruits: Dates, figs, pomegranates, olives, melons, apples, bitter cherries, kolis fruit, nara (a type of citrus, comparable in flavor and sourness to lime).
Widely used spices/herbs/flavorings: cumin, saffron (VERY expensive but natively grown), coriander, culantro, thyme, fennel, sage, tumeric, cardamom, ginger, firebug (an insect that is dried and crushed, provides a reddish hue and slight acidic flavor), anuje (a tree sap which is the region's most popular sweetener).
Livestock: cattle, horses (the small 3 hooved kind), hogs, ducks, geese, one domesticated species of gazelle, some camelops (rare in this region, imported), one type of small domesticated lacetor, several types of fowl.
Other meat (common wild game, or livestock raised in smaller or more localized capacities): crocodiles, gazelles, aurochs, salutachin (a meat dog breed), doves, nechoi, lacetor, hippegalga, anara (a large semi-aquatic rodent), hespiornis, unkata (a large flightless bird), ibis, pheasants, rabbits and hares, caviar ants.
(Of the fantasy game, most nechoi have a strong, lean gamey meat, but an-nechoi is fattier and milder. Lacetor is generally mild and tough (with a few very fatty cuts) and benefits from slow cooking and heavy spices. Hippegalga is lean and mildly gamey and has a nutty quality. Anara tastes like wild rabbit, but slightly fattier. Unkata kind of just tastes like turkey.)
Alcohol: Wine is very important and is consumed (mostly watered down) on a daily basis. Date wine is most common and least expensive by far; only small parts of the region are ideal for viniculture and grape wine is somewhat uncommon. Other fruit wines are common (bitter cherry and kolis fruit being most popular). A very strong liquor is produced from anuje sap, with sweeter and lower ABV versions available as a kind of dessert wine. Grain-based beers and liquors are widely available, but not as prized as fruit/anuje drinks. Mead is somewhat rare and is mostly seen as inferior to anuje.
Salt economy: this region is a dominant player in the salt trade, having a large area of salt flats and marshes in its south. Salt is widely accessible throughout the region via internal trade routes.
Fishing: The region has a huge fishing industry along its coasts and the diet in the coastal cities is enriched with seafood. Pretty much any edible sea life is eaten. (Dozens of fish species, octopus, squid, clams, urchins, oysters, scallops, crabs, lobster, shrimp, etc etc). The tiny, schooling larval form of yotici are also sometimes eaten.
There's also a 'whaling' industry for leviathans, which have very rich, blubbery meat high in iron (I guess I'd describe it as a fattier, stronger, bloodier version of alligator meat), and uhrwal, which have very tough, gamey meat and are considered an acquired taste, used specifically for delicacy dishes.
Misc lore:
Arthropods are not widely eaten in the region and have stigma as peasant or famine food. Some local exceptions are made for locusts, and the eggs of caviar ants (there is a very small industry of ant farming in Ephennos, brought by White Sea qilik immigrants).
Dogs have been used for meat in this region for hundreds of years (largely in the form of the salutachin, a breed specifically developed for meat), but the practice declined under the 3rd Burri empire (in which context it was seen as an 'unclean' food). Cultural trauma from feral dogs eating the dead (and in turn being eaten by starving civilians) during a siege-induced famine has made it specifically taboo in Godsmouth. Dog is now widely considered a famine/poverty food in most of the region, though corn-fed salutachin is still a delicacy in the city-state of Wardin.
Animals that eat human flesh are taboo to consume in most parts of the region (whether this extends to all/most predators or just obligate scavengers varies).
Eggs of skimmer gulls and ibis are considered delicacies.
The basic diet varies across the region, but a huge proportion of the established cuisine revolves around cumin, onions, and peppers for flavoring.
The majority of the diet for an average person is built on savory grain porridge and mashed legumes.
Dairy products are important to the everyday diet in the eastern 'dairy belt' of the region, but are of lesser significance elsewhere. Horsemilk and cow's milk are both common.
Maize is usually consumed after nixtamalization for greater nutritional content.
Most people (especially in the cities) do not eat meat on a regular basis, as even for self-sustaining farmers and herders, the value of livestock for milk, textiles, labor, sacrifice, and trade means that frequent slaughter is often unsustainable. Most get their everyday protein needs met with legumes, and those in coastal cities have broad access to seafood.
Animal sacrifice is vitally important to the practice of the Imperial Wardi faith, but the meat of sacrifices is not eaten (outside of a few specific rites and festivals) and is instead burned.
Khaitmeat is rarely eaten outside of desperation (or opportunistic slaughter of old/injured animals) due to their great value and a developed taboo around its consumption in some parts of the region.
Hunting is a pastime for the urban upper class and typically forbidden within the territories of the city-states without an expensive 'license' (unless one one's own lands, which also generally requires having big money). Poaching for meat in the outskirts of cities is common among the urban poor.
Hunting is a key part of the diet throughout the rural parts of the region, many rural commoners eat meat more frequently than their urban counterparts on this merit.
Some established dishes (either vaguely conceptualized, or have come up specifically in writing):
Pounded white yam and nothing else (a famine food).
Pounded white yam with whitefish and pepper soup, a hearty common meal in Godsmouth.
Savory cornmeal cakes (cornmeal cooked in vegetable broth, lard or olive oil, peppers, onions, cumin, salt, cheese, wrapped in a corn husk and cooled to be eaten on the go).
Shitty cornmeal cakes (a famine food) (cornmeal with weevils in it, you can't really get the weevils out and it's protein so might as well, salted and cooked in water).
Grain festival beef/horse stew (tough bone-in cuts slowcooked with peppers, onion, garlic, and any other available vegetables. Usually heavily spiced. The resulting broth is used to cook the grain (usually hominy, rice, or barley), the meat and vegetables are served on top, sometimes with cream or cheese).
Hominy porridge with milk and sprinkled cheese.
Wheat porridge with dried dates and anuje.
Reed duck boiled in date wine, flavored with peppers, coriander, cumin, and saffron (VERY fancy).
Pickled kolis stem bulbs.
Fermented kolis stem bulbs and cabbage.
Gannegal soup (made with bull penis, hominy, garlic, onion, cabbage, and chickpeas in a spicy broth, supposed to support fertility)
Raw hippegalga meat, thinly sliced with onion and hot pepper, all marinated and cured with nara and eaten cold atop barley or rice (also supposed to support fertility)
Anaebi soup (made with reed duck, lily bulbs, rice, and okra, supposed to support a healthy pregnancy)
Cow tripe and cabbage soup
Finely chopped meat/fish/shellfish or vegetables with onions, wrapped in dough and fried or baked.
Peledyo (A strong, heavily fermented fish sauce favored in the coastal cities (this is pretty much a garum ripoff), which is mixed with wine, vinegar, honey, etc to form the base of other sauces)
Very spicy shellfish soup with a peledyo, wine, and pepper broth.
Caviar ant eggs marinated with nara, vinegar, chopped onions and cabbage, mixed with rice.
A sweetened bean porridge made with cream and anuje.
Hummus-esque spread made with chickpeas, garlic, onion, peppers, and olive oil, usually eaten with bread.
Whole spitroasted horse
A type of root vegetable sausage (intestine casing stuffed with mashed cassava or yam, onions, garlic & cumin seeds which have been cooked down in lard, sometimes with minced meat/offal. Boiled all together.)
Blood sausage (usually horse or cattle)
A kind of donut fried in oil and then soaked in anuje and fruit syrup.
Roasted peppers and onions sauteed in heavy cream, usually served atop grain or a grain porridge.
Toasted locusts, locusts fried with rice or barley, pounded white yam stuffed with fried locust and onions (opportunistic meals during locust plagues)
Fried sprats with pepper and onion sauce
Crab stock soup with onions, peppers, crab meat or whole softshell crabs, and crab roe (sometimes with cream)
Squid ink soups (variety of seafood or seafood-stock soups, blackened by squid ink)
A simple 'trail mix' made with dried camiche seeds and hominy
Dessert bread glazed with fruit syrup or anuje, covered in dried dates
Raw minced lacetor with peledyo, garlic powder, cardamom, coriander. Used to top grains or to be eaten with pounded yam.
Thinly sliced uhrwal flank simmered with date wine and vinegar.
Fatty cuts of an-nechoi belly, usually slow cooked and eaten in soups.
Minced kolis stalk, onion, and pepper, salted and marinated with nara or vinegar
Roasted figs with cheese
Also here's the lore friendly meal I cooked, the grain festival beef stew. Here served in only the lore friendliest of dollar store paper bowls
This specific dish is eaten as a part of yearly grain festivals celebrating the end of the harvest. In most contexts it's an agricultural community event with each family contributing whatever vegetables and spices are on hand, and each donating some of their harvested grain. It's cooked in a huge pot and usually serves dozens of people.
The exact vegetable/herb/spice components would vary wildly within the region, timing, and by the success of the various harvests, but will generally be farmed (rather than foraged) due to the nature of the festival as an agricultural celebration and thanks-giving. Cumin, peppers, and onions are considered the absolute bare minimum necessity. The grain will usually be maize, barley or rice, and may be mashed into a savory porridge instead of eaten whole.
This will usually be one of few times a year where meat is eaten in abundance in the agricultural context. The meat is almost always beef or horse, usually tougher bone-in cuts are chosen for this specific dish. These animals will have been slaughtered specifically for this festival, with the best cut of meat from each being burnt in an offering of gratitude to Ganmache and Anaemache (ox-face and river-face of God, both of which are associated with agriculture and harvests), at the base of what will become the cooking fire.
The meat and vegetables are cooked on low heat in water until the meat is soft and tender and a broth is formed (which should be very strong and spicy, as it will be used to flavor the grain). Some of the broth is drained and used to cook the grain, which is then served with the meat, vegetables, and a few spoonfuls of broth on top. In the eastern dairy belt, milk/cream may be added to the broth, and/or it may be topped with crumbled cheese or sour cream. This is next to heresy in the west.
---
For my easily accessible grocery store equivalent, I used a beef shank, 2 onions, 2 jalepeños, one habanero, a bunch of garlic, okra, and cabbage. Seasoned with cumin seeds and tumeric (very lore friendly) and a sazon packet because I had it (most of the spices involved are at least passably lore friendly). Also jasmine rice (not lore friendly but it's what I had).
I first toasted cumin seeds in olive oil, then added the vegetables and stirred until they were cooked down. The meat and vegetables/spices were cooked in water on low heat for ~5 hours and seasoned to taste. Some of the broth was then removed to cook the rice. Meat + vegetables are spooned on top of the rice, along with some broth.
Results: It's preddy good. Might be a little better with roasted or sauteed rather than heavily cooked down vegetables, but the latter is how it would be eaten. I also had a sore throat at the time and ended up just drinking the rest of the broth. It felt amazing. 6.5/10.
#I've also cooked the cornmeal cakes I mentioned (not the weevil kind)#Yeah I LOVE food worldbuilding and food is also pretty like... thematically important to The White Calf (in the context of famine)#So I get to get into it but can't do much textual fantasy food-porn because of aforementioned famine. Mostly weevil bread up in here.#Reverse Dungeon Meshi.
