#a packless dog will happily accept his collar or something like that #own art #own characters #CanisAlbus #art #artists on tumblr #Machete #anthro #sighthound #dogs #canine #animals #maybe you might benefit from a little bit of context in this case #Machete becomes a priest at around 20 or so #he has trained all his life for this goal #he has worked himself to the bone and sacrificed so much #because he believes it would make him respectable and worthy and give his life a purpose and meaning #he gets his very first cassock from the tailor's and it immediately fits like a second skin #for the first time ever he feels like something he wears actually makes him look kind of nice #the hard part is over it'll be smooth sailing from here on out #there's a period in Vasco's and Machete's lives where they were apart for almost a decad #they met in their late teens when they were both studying in the same university in Venice #became friends and then lovers #but had to separate when Machete graduated and Vasco dropped out #Machete was ordained as intended and Vasco followed his father into politics #they meet again unexpectedly in their early 30's thanks to their similar jobs #Machete had became a cardinal secretary of state and Vasco was a Florentine diplomat #this takes place shortly after he had lost contact with Vasco and before he reconnects with him again

#i uh. emailed a single breeder tonight #part of me feels like its too soon after pando but also there was a reason i got pando when i did #and that is because it is a good time in my life to have a puppy especially with my current dog's ages.....#nettle turns 6 this year #and waitlists are sometimes over 2 years long #i just. Eugh #both excited & nerve-racking #finch #ideally i am putting myself on a list and will not get a puppy until nettle is running full lanes in flyball #among other things #but those things are more personal goals and less Dog Goals

Thank you all for voting in the poll to decide who was going to be the leader of the band! It turned out to be such a close race!

#poorly drawn mdzs #better drawn mdzs #mdzs #madam lan #A-qing #Band AU #(Reminder that Madam Lan's design inspiration goes to Qourmet!)#Madam Lan may have been the winner per vote count but there were so many strong advocates for A-Qing!#I played around with a few versions of what the 'poll winner' art was going to be and ultimately decided I wanted them both.#As any good theater love knows though - The battle for leadership was a ruse. They *all* get a chance to be featured.#Cooperation was the real end goal! However I do think these two have the best frontman energy of the group.#Or at least 'crowd favourite' energy. I also really loved hearing what people thought their vocal styles would be like!#This was probably one of my favourite polls to do and I love drawing these characters a lot B*)#I'd love to spend a bit more time in this AU so count on me bringing it back.#One thing I keep feeling like I need to redeem myself on is Madam Lan's Translucent skirt. I have *not* done the concept justice yet.#It is such a crack-platonic ship but I want to think Madam Lan and A-Qing would enjoy each other's company.#Possibly also with JYL as well. They can be like mutually beneficial therapy dogs to each other.#Madam Lan never got to see her kids grow up into teenagers after all. She only had sons. Never daughters.#Even if she saw her kids once a month we do know she treated them with so much love and kindness.#She would bite the shit out of YZY for yelling at JYL. What a sight to see. A-Qing would also start biting (for fun).

I want to see more portrayals of raw nonhumanity.

I want us to talk about ALL aspects of nonhumanity. we can talk about wanting to play fight, to chase prey, to long for missing extremities, but we should also be talking about wanting to roll in filth, wanting to mark your territory, urges to eat your young, and everything else that's "gross" even if it’s uncomfortable. Nonhumanity is weird and gross, it makes you want to do things that humans don't do. We don't exist to be palatable images of "human who identifies as an animal (but only in the cute ways).”

There is a unintentionally upheld standard that you have to make an image out of your identity, it HAS to be pretty and digestible for other people, your nonhumanity MUST to be organized and palatable. it can be "edgy" but it can't be too weird otherwise you're too weird. Why bind your existence to an idea of normalcy? Why stifle yourself in order to conform to the standards of a world that will never accept you? Why strive to be accepted by those that will never truly listen to you?

You are more than aesthetic photos and gear and silly posts!!! You are full of depth, you are a grotesque experience and you are made of blood and bones and guts and thoughts and instincts, and all of that should be treated with as much weight as it can be! You are allowed to be “Off.”

Interrogate your own discomfort around your identity, let yourself be okay with the things that are uncomfortable!!! You should relish in your own nonhumanity, you should wholeheartedly project the nasty and weird and angry parts of existence as an animal, they are just as real and as tangible and beautiful as your collars or your masks or your tails or anything else you hold dear. yeesh!

#all this to say; you don’t need to conform #you don’t need to make sure your identity is pretty and aesthetic #there’s no rules about being an animal #you aren’t going to win over humans by dampening or hiding parts of yourself and even if your goal isn’t to appeal to humans #you are only hurting yourself by not embracing who you are and treating all of your instincts and experiences with respect #this especially applies to canid identities because I feel they are excessively turned into an aesthetic which is weird to me lol.#canine therian #therian #therianthropy #otherkin #nonhuman #dog therian #therian shifting #therian community #alterhuman community #alterhumanity #nonhumanity #endelity #otherkin community
