FAITH, LOST II
Tagging @chelseareferenced so she can read this goodness first hand! ;3
Chapter 2
“You have got to be joking!” Heisenberg can’t contain himself, not that he ever censored himself in the past. This is beyond ridiculous, even for the high and mighty bitch herself. He’s quick to turn on his heel to stare down the deceiver but he doesn’t call her out. Not yet anyway. He doesn’t need to, not when Lady Goliath looks about ready to burst a vein. “Mother Miranda, I must protest!” Lady Dimitrescu hisses, eyes practically glowing with rage. “Heisenberg hasn’t the faintest idea of the gift you are giving, he’d sooner throw it to the dogs!”
You wince at how little she regards you, conflicted. As it stands Lady Dimitrescu is fighting viciously to no doubt claim you as her own, which bodes marginally better than the man who would sooner toss you aside without a second thought than look at you. The Countess stands tall but her posture reminds you of a petulant child, demanding to be given what they want. Albeit a regal one. All while Heisenberg stands there with a mean snarl on his lips that brandishes his impressive canines, aimed squarely at Mother Miranda. Lady Beneviento sits silent as the grave watching the exchange while her devilish doll wiggles in excitement on her lap. Lord Moreau lingers on the edge of the fray, wringing his hands; he’s clearly distressed at the fighting and you almost feel ashamed for being the cause of the turmoil. “My decision is final,” Mother Miranda states firmly, voice echoing unnaturally around the room, her form already receding towards the doors. “Mother Miranda, please!” Lady Dimitrescu calls out, a brief look of panic flitting across her porcelain features when she receives no response at all. The cracks are already showing — she will not get her way today. In a desperate attempt to regain control she turns to Heisenberg, who stands tense as he watches Mother Miranda leave. “Heisenberg!” She seethes, hands balled tightly into fists that threaten to snap the delicate neck of her opera length cigarette holder into splinters, “say something!” You watch, helpless, as he casually lifts his hammer, taking his sweet time under Lady Dimitrescu’s smouldering gaze. The others have already made a hasty retreat, following their Mother’s steps closely, leaving you at the mercy of the feuding siblings. When Heisenberg finally locks eyes with her, hammer set proudly on his shoulder, the tension is so thick you struggle to breathe. Then, he smirks. The tautness of his body melts away into a well versed confident swagger, complete with a wolfish grin, and Lady Dimitrescu recoils so quickly in rage that you fear she’s given herself whiplash. The tirade of pure and unadulterated hatred that spills forth is in no way befitting of a woman of such high standing but Heisenberg seems unaffected. In fact, it amuses him to see her become undone when he ignores her. You don’t understand how he’s so calm when faced with such venom, practically cowering when she turns to you, face twisted in indignation. “Now don’t be a sore loser,” he tuts, quickly tugging you to his side, “Mother Miranda made her choice, are you really going to defy her?” He teases, grin widening at the sight of faint colour spreading on the Countess’ face. Heisenberg always knew how to get under skin and make her squirm. Sparing you one last glance Lady Dimitrescu turns sharply on her heel to leave, huffing in annoyance and frustration. Neither of you are worthy of even a biting retort, it seems. “You can breathe, you know.” You startle at Heisenberg’s teasing remark, finally releasing the breath that you didn’t realise you had been holding the whole time. You had been so transfixed on the very real prospect of your demise at the hands of a nine foot tall Vampire woman that you may have neglected that small fact of life. Lightheadedness makes your vision swim and for a moment you think you’re about to faint. If ever there was something to make you feel like you had one foot in the grave that moment was very much it. It does not bear repeating. Heisenberg takes in your deer-in-headlights expression, chuckling at the way his stare makes your little hummingbird heart flutter more. You’re absolutely petrified. It’s understandable, he knows that he’s dangerous and your little flock has more than enough stories about the big bad Lycan master that lets his hounds descend from the ominous Factory to feast on the nonbelievers. Utter bullshit. Well, mostly. But they don’t need to know that, of course. “So,” he drawls, tilting his head, “Mother Miranda says you’re my new— what was it? Ah, right, right, my new servant.” It’s a statement, but you’re not sure if he fully understands what he’s supposed to actually do with you, just like Lady Dimitrescu remarked. You nod shakily, bringing your still bound wrists up in a feeble attempt to warm yourself. It doesn’t offer much, the metal is so cold it brings your skin out in goosebumps. Thankfully, Heisenberg notices. “Oh, uh, sorry about that,” he clears his throat, a sudden switch, and with a flick of his wrist the shackles snap apart and shoot off to the side. They clatter to the ground unceremoniously, rusted and broken. It’s almost sad how much you relate to them at that moment. “T-thank you,” you answer meekly, rubbing at your sore wrists. The blood rushes to your fingers, making them tingle. It’s an odd, but muted, sensation, given the gravity of your situation. He doesn’t reply, merely tips his hat at you before motioning for you to go ahead of him. You’re unsure if it’s because he’s a gentleman or if it’s a power play but you move regardless, your pace hesitant. You’re not eager to be thrust out into the chill of the mountain, not that it’s any warmer inside at this point. You can only hope that the Factory is better than this.
It’s so much worse. The heat— it’s humid, stagnant, and downright heinous. Steam hisses and spits from rusted, internal pipes that streak across the walls and ceilings of the corridors, making the air humid and cloying. Your feet ache through your boots as you try to keep up with Heisenberg's strides, echoing off the metal grating underfoot in an annoying clank clank clank rhythm. In an attempt to cool yourself down you try to sweep up your damp hair from where it sticks to the back of your neck, grimacing at the wetness that covers your fingers. You’re a sweating mess and you hate it. The elevator is your near breaking point. In such a small space the heat intensifies, stuffy and borderline unbearable. It’s normal, your muddled mind tries to rationalize, since the lower levels are closer to the furnace, and it’ll get better once you go up, but it doesn’t take away from discomfort. You notice with great irritation that Heisenberg is barely batting an eyelid, though it’s to be expected. He lives there, of course he’d be used to it. The ride to the upper levels is uncomfortable and not just because of the humidity. His eyes are on you the entire time, at least you think so given those round glasses that he wears obscure his eyes from your view, no doubt wondering just why he’d taken in such a mess. And a mess you most certainly are. Heisenberg can see how your desperately try to keep stringy, moist hair from plastering itself to your sweat-soaked skin, failing miserably as the rebellious strands slip from your fingers. There are dark patches to your simple dress, made worse by how it clings to your body from the heat. He can barely stop himself from smirking when you curse quietly under your breath, rolling your eyes in irritation as you fuss over your hair. It’s the first time that you’ve shown some real spirit. Your annoyance is refreshing on your flushed face, the dim, artificial light casting you in a dewy, warm glow. Sadly, it’s not enough to overpower how badly you need a bath and fresh clothes. “Well, here we are,” he announces as the elevator stops and the door opens up; your new home. It’s another long hallway that looks similar to the dozen odd that you walked through to get here, but you do notice that it’s comparatively cooler. It must be near the top of the Factory. It’s a pleasant relief and you follow Heisenberg to a cluster of rooms a little lighter on your feet. The tour is, well, barely that, as he shows you a bedroom, a kitchen, and a bathroom, all outfitted with the barest of necessities and far too much scrap metal, tools, and other engineering components. You linger in the doorway of the modest bedroom, staring at the single bed pushed up in the corner as though that’s the out of place object in the room. He leaves you for a moment, fumbling through papers and projects on the heavily cluttered desk that takes up the length of one wall, and you wander the hallway, peeking inside rooms with doors slightly ajar. Most are storage rooms with all sorts of junk inside, but one looks salvageable with an old, banged up couch and minimal debris. As you look about envisioning how to make it more homely, leaning against the door frame, you’re not paying attention and it gives Heisenberg the perfect opportunity to scare you. “Found yourself a room, huh?” He whispers into your ear, pulling back quickly as you shriek in alarm and swing out your arm instinctively to hit him. You can barely hear your heart hammering wildly in your chest over the sound of his raucous laughter, retreating from him quickly. “Why would you do that?” You shout, wide eyes staring at him. Heisenberg can barely pull himself together, breaking into small fits of laughter at the sight of your astonished expression, exhaling deeply to try and ground himself. “Couldn’t help it,” he explains, grinning at you, “it was a perfect setup!” Flabbergasted, your mouth falls open at his response; this man was one of the four Lords of the village, not some child playing tricks! Noticing the offense you take at his actions Heisenberg scoffs, his own expression souring as he turns away from you. What was he honestly thinking? You were just another haughty, stuck-up, loyalist to Mother fucking Miranda that clearly wouldn’t know a joke if it came up and slapped you in the face. “Bathroom is right there, you reek,” he snaps harshly, pointing into a small room lined with cracked, dirty tiles and rusting, dated appliances. You glare at his back, wordlessly going inside and doping your best to slam the door shut, but all you manage is a half-descent rattle. You look about yourself and suppress a shiver of disgust, staring at the old, rusting shower that has clearly seen better days, questioning whether you can forgo washing after all. Needs must, you think to yourself, as you dig out the cleanest towel you can find from a rickety old cabinet in the corner. Thankfully the water is fine when you turn the handle and you quickly strip to take advantage of the first good thing since you came to the Factory. As you stand under the tepid spray you wonder if you are, as Mother Miranda had said, perfect for this task. Doubt nips at your resolve and tries to whittle down your faith, but you refuse to let it win. You must succeed, for Mother Miranda.

The Devil’s In The Details
You're a detective of the Red Grave City P.D. investigating another strange murder when you find a possible break in the case.
After many months of daydreaming and planning, I'm finally starting a new series featuring Dante/Detective Reader! So, I hope you enjoy the first few chapters! 😘🥰
Warnings: Graphic depictions of a violent crime scenes and cursing.
Chapter 1: Another Day
Another day, another murder, you thought grimly as you arrive at the scene of what is assuredly another grisly crime.
It is early morning. The sun has barely peeked over the horizon, but that is not enough to deter several reporters from crowding around the police tape. You park your motorcycle just on the outskirts of the police barrier, assessing the best possible route to take around the crowd without drawing attention to yourself. A few bright flashes from a numerous camera makes you grumble under your breath as you hop off your ride. You straighten out your riding jacket and jeans before removing your helmet, flipping your hair back as you breath in the crisp morning air.
“Detective! Detective!”
“Is this at all related to the other murders around the city?”
“Does this mean we have a serial killer running rampant through our streets?”
“Detective, please! The citizens of Red Grave deserve some answers!”
The gaggle of clamoring news reporters and journalists greet your ears as you approach the police tape. You keep your head down and turn away from their prying eyes while you press forward, never slowing your pace as you forge ahead. And as soon as you get to the barrier, you quickly duck under and slip through before any of them can surround you with their mics and cameras.
A couple of officers rush forward to calm the crowd as you survey the scene before you: upscale house in the better part of town, no fence, and neighboring houses on either side of the home. You reach into the inside pocket of your jacket and pull out your glasses, quickly sliding them on before whipping out a small sketchbook. Your keen eyes scan around more thoroughly, looking for anything out of place as you walk up the long driveway.
The house looks like your typical suburban home: two stories of brick walls with the usual gothic architecture that is so common around this part of town. The lawn gets cut regularly and only a few stray dog toys sully its pristine state. And the garage is vast, big enough to hold two cars, but there is only one fancy sports car parked in there now.
You slide the pencil stored in the spiral spine of your sketchbook and begin to draw out all the possible inconsistencies you have observed thus far: stray dog toys means either no one’s been around to mow the lawn or that the owners do their own lawn work, the fact that the garage door is open strikes you as odd, and speaking of dog toys…your hand pauses as you double check for any sign of a doghouse in the yard before looking back in the garage, searching for anything might serves as a dog bed.
Hmm…could be an inside dog, you ponder, squinting at your rough drawing of a dog toy that does seem to be quite small. You make a quick note about it by the sketch before moving on, drawing a car with a question mark beside it and a note about the whereabouts of the other car. When you are finished with your preliminary observation, you reach back into your pocket for a pair of rubber gloves and hurriedly slip them as you approach a group of officers waiting by the entrance.
“Good Morning, Detective.”
The officer that greets you at the door is Tyrell Reed if you remember correctly. “Morning,” you mutter back with a nod of your head before following him past his fellow officers through the front entrance of the house. You take in your surroundings, noting that the entrance hall is quaint but still holds an air of old-fashioned wealth. After a few more quick glances over at the side rooms you ask what your colleagues refer to as the universal code for what crazy shit are we dealing with today? in the language of law enforcement.
“What have we got here, Officer?”
“Same shit, different body.”
You chuckle dryly at his matter-of-fact reply before getting down to business. “Victim’s name?”
“Giles Harmon. The husband of Mabel Harmon.”
You scribble down both names on a fresh page of your sketchbook. “And where is our newly widowed wife?” you ask while glancing down at your drawing of the sports car.
“A few of the neighbors saw her leave in the middle of night about a week ago, which just so happens to be how long the victim has been lying here dead.”
“Did they say whether or not she drove away in a car?” you question, looking up at the officer over the frames of your glasses. He nods and you quickly jot down that detail by the appropriate sketch before moving onto the next question. “Any kids?”
“One. A son. He goes by Paul and he’s a student over at RGU. He’s also the one who found the body, so he’s currently being held down at the station for questioning.”
“Excellent! What about the dog?”
“Dog?” Officer Reed’s brow furrows. “What dog?”
You flash him your drawing of the stray dog toys. “There’s evidence in the yard that points to them owning at least one dog,” you inform patiently before firing away with follow up questions. “Did you or any of the other officers first at the scene see or hear anything that may have been a dog?”
“Hold on a sec.” Officer Reed excuses himself and peeks his head out the front door. You hear him ask the officers your question and a variety of murmurings before he turns back to you. “No, ma’am. None of us heard no barking, but one of the boys did see some bowls on the kitchen floor.”
“Did any of the neighbors mention hearing a dog bark when Mrs. Harmon left?”
Officer Reed shakes his head. “Not that I recall, but I’ll be sure to send you their statements.”
“Did you see the son with a dog by chance?”
He shakes his head again. “Nope. I saw him myself as he was being escorted from the scene. He wasn’t holding a dog and there wasn’t a dog following after him either.”
“Alright,” you nod, finishing off the last of your notes by the dog toy sketch. “I’ll take it from here, Officer.”
“No problem, Detective. I’ll get outta your way and let ya do your thing.”
Officer Reed tips his hat and heads back outside, leaving you to explore the rest of the house at your leisure. You head towards the kitchen, passing through what looks to be the dining room on the way there. Your eyes instantly spot the bowls previously mentioned on the floor by the end of a countertop. When you go over to inspect them, you see one is filled with water while the other is full of brown chunky pellets that look like your typical dog food. You bend down and pick up a pellet and give it a sniff, confirming that it is indeed dog food before making note of it in your sketchbook.
Your eyes flicker over and pause at the sight of a door. If I am not mistaken…that must lead to the garage, you surmise, slowly rising to your feet as you take note of a mat and a wooden key holder by the door. Multiple pairs of shoes are lined up across the mat, ranging from high heels and loafers to muddy sneakers and running shoes. You flip a page in your sketchbook and begin to draw, taking great care to detail the perfect formation shoes as well as the obvious gap in the middle of the mat…which could have possibly been the pair of shoes Mrs. Harmon put on before fleeing the scene.
As soon as you are done sketching the missing pair of shoes, you glance over to the key holder and instantly notice an empty hook. You look closely at the other hooks, noting the pair of keys that belong with the sports car in the garage along with a couple of other mysterious keys. One of them looks like a key to a lawnmower while the other may be a key to a lock box or a safe. You quickly correct your previous note about the possibility of having hired help to at least not having it for lawncare before taking out a spare evidence bag. You carefully unhook the mystery key and drop it into the bag, making sure it is sealed properly before finishing up in the kitchen.
You open a few drawers and cabinets, casually searching until you find a bag of name brand dog food in a nearby cupboard. The label boasts about being the best dog food on the market for small breeds, confirming your assumption from earlier when you first arrived. You quickly write that detail down and take one last hard look at the whole kitchen, letting what you have discovered so far tell their tale of what happened the night of the murder. All the little details fall into place and form an incomplete picture, but you can still glean some information from what you have gathered thus far:
The numerous pairs of shoes on the mat show no sign of being shoved out of place, which could mean the suspect felt no sense of urgency as they fled the scene. There is evidence that they owned a dog, but it either ran away or it’s hiding somewhere in the house…or perhaps a victim as well. And if it turns out that the latter is true, then the murder may not be the result a lover’s quarrel gone wrong.
The picture in your mind looks more like a preliminary drawing, but you remind yourself that even the best works of art take time to complete.
You check out the other rooms on the bottom floor only to find more evidence of this family’s luxurious wealth in the form of expensive paintings and furniture. Once again you see no evidence of a rushed exit, but that could simply be because the suspect did not have to enter most of the rooms on the way to the garage. You head back to the entrance hall and climb up the stairs to the second floor. The sight of more police tape blocking entry into one of the rooms tells you that is where you will find the body of the victim as well as the crime scene analyst scouring every inch of that room for crucial evidence.
Before you head in there for a quick debriefing, you take a quick peek into the other rooms and immediately deduce that the scene of crime happens to also be the bedroom. You also take note of just how spotless each room appears to be, which may add more credence to this being premeditative murder. Easy there…don’t wanna jump the gun so soon, you mentally reprimand while nodding at the two officers on guard outside of the bedroom. You squeeze through a large gap in the police tape and your eyes instantly spot a most grisly sight.
Mr. Harmon is lying face up on the bloodstained carpet, dead vacant eyes staring up at the ceiling. You turn to a fresh page in your sketchbook and get to work mapping this horrid scene. The bed sits in the center of the room against the wall and the sheets are all rumpled. One of four pillows is on the floor while the others are strewn across the bed. The victim’s body is lying a couple of feet away from the foot of the bed and he appears to be wearing white cotton pajamas with a baseball theme pattern. Besides the messy bed and dead body, nothing else seems remotely out of place on first inspection. But that just means you need a closer look to add more detail to the sketch forming in your mind.
You draw out some final details before walking across the room towards Carmen Torres, the crime scene analyst currently snapping pictures of the victim. Both of you started out in Red Grave P.D. at the same time and have formed an amicable relationship over the past few years. She does not seem to mind your more serious and sometimes snarky attitude while you tolerate her eccentricities since behind her quirkiness lies a brilliant forensic mind. Plus, you enjoy her attempts at lightening the mood with cheery conversation while poking around a dead body.
The rotten stench of decay wafts under your nose before you can call out to get her attention, causing you to wrinkle your nose as you cough in disgust. Carmen looks back over her shoulder and flashes you a sunny smile. “Good morning, Quickdraw!” she greets, using her fond nickname for you despite all your vehement protests.
“There’s nothing good about it, San Diego,” you retort with a roll of your eyes while waving your hand in front of your face. “But I guess good morning to you too.”
“I see you’re as chipper as always,” Carmen jests as she reaches into her coat pocket and pulls out a jar of what she refers to as miracle smelly cream before tossing it your way.
“I’ll be a dazzling ray of sunshine as soon as I get some coffee,” you chortle while catching the jar. You unscrew the cap, scoop a small amount of its contents onto your finger, and smear it beneath your nose. When you give a test sniff to see that the stench is no longer as strong you screw the cap back and toss the jar back to her. “But until then…” you trail off, taking one last look around the bedroom. Carmen waits patiently for you to continue, already aware that this is just part of your investigative routine from all the other times you have worked together. You glance through your sketchbook one last time before asking the age-old universal code once more:
“What have we got here?”
“A little variety for one thing!” Carmen exclaims as she takes a few steps closer to the body. “Not every day that we see the wife beating the shit of her husband before finishing them off!”
“True,” you admit with a tilt of your head. “Domestic violence where the woman is the abuser is not as common, but it still happens.” You follow her and crouch down over the body for closer inspection. Despite being dead, Mr. Harmon’s expression seems quite indifferent to his current state. Multiple injuries mare his face, neck, and chest, indicating that there was physical altercation before his untimely demise. It all points to a classic case of domestic abuse, but all the bruises you see are still black and blue.
“Did you happen to find any more bruises that are older?”
Carmen’s face scrunches up as she ponders your question before answering. “Uhhhh nope. I’ll make a note of it for the medical examiner…Oh!” She sets the camera down on the floor before scooting closer to the head of the body. “You’re gonna love this!” she declares with a confident grin. “As you can see, there’s a real nasty contusion on his head, which could’ve been the cause of death,” she informs while pointing to a bloody spot by the victim’s temple before continuing, “but there’s just one problem with that theory.”
You reach over and examine the wound with your gloved hand, feeling around the injury before looking back at her. “Not even a dent or crack in the skull,” you conclude softly, adding it to your mental sketch of the crime.
Carmen nods excitedly. “Exactly! So maybe he died from blunt force trauma to the head, but we won’t know for sure until the autopsy.” She picks up her camera and switches lenses before snapping a few detailed shots of the injury as she continues. “If anything, I’d say he suffered from a concussion. And if that’s the case, then it’s possible that it played a part in his death. Well, that and the loss of blood.”
“Hmm…seems plausible,” you murmur more to yourself as you withdraw your hand. “Miss Murder beats him up, he falls unconscious, and she probably runs away thinking that he’s dead.” You hold your sketchbook in your lap while you take out another rubber glove to replace the one now sullied with blood. As you carefully pull off the glove and slip a clean one on, you think about the recent cases yet to be solved. None of them are related in terms of how the crime itself happened, but there is one tiny physical detail that connects them. The more you think about it, the more you start to get a hunch that so far has never let you down.
“Is there any indication that he may have been paralyzed?”
Carmen pauses her photo session. “Uhhhh besides getting smacked aside the head? No, not really.” She removes the camera from her face and stares up at the ceiling in thought. “It’s possible that his spinal cord could’ve been hit during the beating, but I dunno if Miss Murder could’ve pull that off.” She turns her head and meets your contemplative gaze. “Ooooh! Are ya getting’ one of your Quickdraw hunches?” she guesses eagerly, eyes growing wide as she leans over in anticipation of your explanation.
You grunt in mild annoyance before indulging her curiosity. “Let’s look at his hands and arms.”
Both of you lift a hand from where you are crouching and push back the sleeve of his pajamas down to the elbow. You splay the victim’s arm out onto the floor and begin to draw out your findings in the sketchbook. The inside of his palm is a bit calloused, perhaps from doing his own yard work, but the rest of his hand is smooth and free from any kind of blemish. You note that Carmen is examining the left hand and that a gold band is around his ring finger. His arm has a sprinkling of freckles among coarse hair as well as some muscle. And again, there are no blemishes of any kind…no cuts, no bruises, no injuries whatsoever.
“No sign of defensive wounds,” Carmen mumbles in awe under her breath.
“It’s human instinct to defend yourself,” you chime in absentmindedly while you make note of your discovery by the depiction of the corpse in your sketchbook. “We still put up a fight even if it seems hopeless.”
You grow quiet as distant memories bubble up from the back of your mind, but you suppress the hurtful images as you reach over and pull the collar of the pajamas away from the victim’s neck. All you see are more bruises and no other injuries, so you follow your gut instinct and move onto to inspect his chest. You peek under the pajama top and see something odd just under his left pectoral. Your fingers make quick work of the buttons on the pajama top and you flick it off his chest for better inspection. And just as you expected, there is a small puncture wound that looks terribly like the other previous murders that have cropped up recently.
“Oh shit!” Carmen gasps as she fumbles for her analyst kit. “I didn’t think about-”
“It’s okay,” you reassure while the corners of your lips quirk into your first smile of the day. “Nobody would’ve expected you to search for injection wounds since-”
“He has obvious signs of blunt force trauma to the head,” Carmen finishes your sentence as she takes out a couple of DNA swabs and tubes. “Do you think this is connected to the other murders? Or is this just one big coincidence?” she asks, quickly catching onto your hunch while you put a big circle around the puncture on your drawing.
“Don’t wanna jump to conclusions just yet,” you respond calmly while readjusting your glasses with the pencil. “Not until we perform an autopsy,” you tack on while Carmen gives you a knowing smirk. You stand back up and flip through your sketchbook, intending to ask her about the missing dog and if she came across a safe in the bedroom, but the sudden ringing of your phone interrupts your train of thought.
You shuffle the sketchbook in your arms, carefully trying to remove the rubber glove from one hand. Carmen watches you for a bit while you struggle before offering to slip the glove off for you when an annoyed huff leaves your lips. As soon as your hand is free from its protective barrier, you pull out your cellphone to see who is disturbing your investigation. “Huh…speak of the devil,” you mumble, seeing the name of the medical examiner before swiping the screen to answer.
“Hello?”
“Detective!” he greets you back enthusiastically. “I finally have the test results you wanted!”
“Excellent!” you exclaim while closing your sketchbook. “Mind if I swing by your office?”
“Oh gods yes! Please!”
You hear the definite sound of worry within his pleading voice. “Is everything okay?”
“Oh, everything is fine! It’s just uh,” he pauses for a moment. “It’d probably be better if I just explain it to you in person.”
“Alright. I’ll head on over shortly,” you reply, arching a brow at his curious behavior, but you are not too surprised since he is known for being a little paranoid at times.
“Very good, Detective,” he sighs in relief. “See you then!”
When the end of the line cuts off, you check the time on your phone before slipping it back into your pocket. “You got a break in the case?” Carmen asks inquisitively as she snaps a few more close ups of the body.
“I sure fucking hope so,” you grumble morosely, “or else the Lieutenant will have my ass for leaving so soon.” You take out the evidence bag with the mysterious key. “I found this hanging on a key holder in the kitchen. Looks like it can open a safe or a lock box. Have you-”
“Nope, but I’m not quite done here,” she quickly answers while taking the bag from your grasp. “I’ll keep my eyes open for it though.”
You nod. “Also, have you seen any sign of their dog in the house?”
Carmen shakes her head. “No…but I did collect some small fibers from the bedsheets that could’ve been dog hair. Now get outta here!” She gestures towards the door with her head. “And don’t worry, I’ll cover for ya,” she reassures with a friendly smile. “It did sound like Graves was a little spooked by something…well, more so than usual.”
“Yeah,” you murmur while stuffing your gloveless hand into your jacket pocket. “Don’t know what that’s about.”
“Maybe…” she trails off in thought before her eyes suddenly grow wide. “One of the body’s came to life and confessed their love to him!”
“Oh my god,” you groan, staring up at the ceiling as she expands her ridiculous speculation.
“And he, so overtaken by their confession of undying love, asked them to be their lawfully wedded zombie!”
“Okay! I’m leaving now,” you announce with an indignant huff while walking towards the exit, glancing over your shoulder at the very exhilarated crime scene analyst.
“Aww!!! He probably wants to ask you to be his best woman at the undead wedding!”
“See ya, San Diego!” you bark back with a half-hearted wave of your sketchbook before rushing out of the bedroom, shaking your head in exasperation at her facetious claims while climbing down the stairs.
You remove the other rubber glove and your glasses as you head out the front door. The officers standing outside bid you farewell as you make your way down the long driveway, steeling yourself with every step as the clamor of news reporters rings out in the morning air. You are once again bombarded with various questions as you cross under the police tape. Your eyes narrow as you walk up to your motorcycle, which is currently surrounded by a small group of journalists from the local newspaper.
Damn press! you seethe, but their presence is not enough to stop you from blocking their incessant inquiries by putting on your helmet before mounting your ride. The group spreads out and tries to block your only exit, but you call their buff by revving your engine a couple of times in warning. They all jump back at the blaring purr of the bike, giving you an opening to take off from the crime scene with a loud roar.
Another day, another murder…but I’m also another day closer to solving this case, you resolve with a determined grin while turning down the road towards your next destination.

Misbehave
pairing: Dante/AFAB Reader
summary: Dante's heat is coming up soon, and he's been (mis)behaving worse than usual. His S/O decides to remind him how he's supposed to act.
wordcount: 2,917
warnings: Dante gropes the reader character multiple times (in public) even after they tell him to behave himself. They are written as being more annoyed with this than uncomfortable
notes: Thank you for 200+ followers! I've actually surpassed that by now by like, a lot so very sorry it took so long (●´・△・`) Not proofread as usual because I guess messy writing is my style ;; I hope that I hit the prompt okay, I feel like I always go a little off the rails lmao.
"Should we come back another time?" Trish asks, eyebrows raised in a quirky mix of amusement and displeasure. She has the look of a guest at a dinner party that just watched the family dog start humping the host’s leg and well that’s not too far off, is it?
You turn your head back at Dante, sitting in his desk chair as smug as can be with both hands planted on your ass and all but deaf and blind to the world until you plant a foot on the seat between his spread legs and kick. His chair slams back against the wall and he’s finally coherent again, snapping his head between the three of you with an almost confused expression. Lady lays a hand over her mouth but you can still hear her soft snickering.
“Just give us a minute,” You respond with as much patience as you can muster, “Morrison will be here soon anyway, we can finish up our plans when he gets here.”
The two prance off to the back room of the office, and you lean over to watch them disappear into the doorway before you turn on Dante. Your arms cross, and you cock your hip. Dante’s eyes follow the movement and the fucker licks his lips. You uncock your hips.
“Dante.”
“Mhm?” He hums, leaning back in his chair. His eyes trace the entirety of your body before they reach your eyes. He sees the disapproval in them and shrugs, only the tiniest bit sheepish. “Told you, it’s that time of the year. Can’t help it.”
“Ten minutes, I just need you to focus for ten more minutes until we can send everyone off and you can,” Conscious of the two in the other room, your voice drops to a whisper and you lean in.
“Have me every way you want. Understood?”
Dante tries to meet you halfway, tries to reach up and cover your mouth with his. Tempting, but you’ve been through enough of Dante’s heats to know that if you give him an inch, he’ll demand the mile. You plant a hand just under his throat and push him back against his chair. Dante growls.
The door to Devil May Cry creaks open. Both you and Dante turn to see Morrison patiently shaking his umbrella outside, trying to get the water drops off before he drops it in the holder inside. Trish and Lady must’ve been listening, of course, because they’re back in the main room immediately.
“What’ve you got for us today?” Lady asks hopping up on Dante’s desk. Trish leans against the other corner, and Dante scoots his chair up as you find your usual spot behind him.
“Oh, nothing too exciting.” Morrison adjusts his hat absentmindedly. “Small infestation on the other side of the bridge. Mostly round the industrial district, contractors willing to pay big for a quick cleanup.”
Beside you, Dante huffs out of his nose. You can tell he’s already lost interest.
“What kind of infestation did they mention?” Trish asks.
“Based on the description, two or three Behemoths. They didn’t want to get too close to check, you understand.”
Dante’s hand finds the back of your knee, and you school your expression into a perfect mask of calm as you gently kick the side of his foot.
“Ugh. It’s not just going to be those, they only really show up when there’s other demons around to munch on.” Lady sighs, “Are they willing to pay more when we find more?”
Dante’s hand slides up slowly, fingers sliding in to brush over your inner thighs. You kick him again a bit harder, and you can just barely hear the rumble of another growl in his chest.
“I can ask, but I don’t think that’ll be a problem.” Morrison rubs his fingers together, his usual gesture for any client with pockets too deep for their own good. “They want to get business going again ASAP. Probably losing a couple grand every day their guys gotta stand around or they lose another one to demons running rampant.”
Dante’s hand slips even higher. His thumb rubs against your ass.
“Ooh, Trish snaps her finger, “Use that when you ask.”
“Alright, alright,” Morrison sighs, “But if they get stubborn and think they can fix it themselves--”
Dante’s fingers find the top of your inner thigh, where your leg meets your groin.
“Then we charge even more when they come back to us again.” Trish responds, coolly.
Dante’s hand rubs along the seam of your pants.
“Damn,” Morrison whistles.
You grab Dante’s hand and pull it off you, slamming your other palm on the table. The others jump and the conversation screeches to a halt as all attention falls on you.
“I think we’ll have to follow this conversation up later, once we’ve got a response to the new price quote.” You look at each of them in turn. “Right?”
“Right,” Lady says slowly, then looks at Trish. “No point in talking it over any more until we know if they’re going to pay up.”
Trish shrugs, stands up as Lady hops off the table. Morrison looks confused, but gives you and Dante polite nods in turn.
“I’ll call you up when I get a response. If your phone is still working by then.”
Dante gives a tight smile in return, and the three leave. Trish throws a chastising look over her shoulder at Dante on the way out. Of course she knows, she can probably smell it on him.
“Hey, problem solved?” Dante quips at your side, “They’re gone now.”
Deep within yourself you manage to pull out another string of patience. You turn to Dante, sounding strangely calm to your own ears.
“Let’s head up to the bedroom.” Before Dante can make a suggestion to have you on the desk, you press a finger against his lips. “I’ll lock up. Off you go.”
You step into the bedroom just as Dante kicks off his pants. The room is already a mess of his clothes, shed as though he tossed them all around the room in his haste to be as naked as possible. In the low light of his dim lamp his skin glistens with the light sheen of his sweat. It’s a good look for him.
“Too hot,” He pants, reclining on the bed. By the time his heat actually begins he’ll be molten, but mercifully he won’t notice. The present Dante, the one who hasn’t really started his heat and therefore should really behave better, stretches himself out on the covers like he’s hoping that if he tempts you enough you’ll just pounce on him.
“Dante, do you remember what I said before Morrison showed up?” You ask from the doorway, toying with the equipment in your back pocket and letting yourself admire the flex of his abs as he sits up to listen.
“That I could have you any way I wanted?” He perks up at his own convenient retelling, and you stroll over to stand between his spread legs. A purr starts up in his chest and he curls his arms around you, pulling you on top of him and kissing you so deeply that you almost melt into him. Your hands run down his shoulders, his biceps, his forearms until they slide over his hands, wrapping over the small of your back and coaxing you to press your hips to his.
Quickly, before he can wonder where your hands have gone, you pull the handcuffs out of your pocket and snap both ends over his wrists. He jerks away in surprise and almost yanks you all the way up his chest with the chain at your back, his eyebrows climbing and mouth agape like this was some brilliant strategy you just pulled off.
“I said,” You purr, planting a hand in the center of his chest and pinning him onto the bed, “That you could have me any way you wanted if you focused.”
“Ah.” His face morphed into a smirk. “And because I got handsy instead?”
“I have you any way I want.” Dante looked over you slowly, chest rumbling under your hand where it still pinned him.
“I hate to break it to ya, but that doesn’t sound too bad to me.”
Clearly, you haven’t trained him well enough yet. You slide out from under his arms, sit on his thighs and push his arms up by the elbows, coaxing him to lift them over his head. Under your appreciative gaze he even flexes a bit, showing off the contours of his well-built body.
“When you say ‘the way you want’, is that just ogling me while I’m all defenseless? What a waste.”
“Hush.” You slide your way up his body, hips grinding up over his cock- immediately his cocky expression melts away and he growls again, all teeth bared. His arms twitch as though he’s going to bring them back down again, but you banish that thought with a pointed look. You hover over his chest, grip his chin. “Watch me.”
He obeys without a quip this time, engrossed in the way your top parts under your deft hands and bares yourself to him. You didn’t wear undergarments today, why would you? Dante in heat was a predator to any of your delicate lacy things and you had at least planned to give him free reign this morning. You let your top drape open around you, tantalizing valleys of skin bared one moment and hidden in the next as you move.
Dante bites his lip. His arms flex, relax, flex again.
Your fingers flit over your pants next, tugging at the buttonhole and abandoning it in intervals. His eyes followed every movement with such intensity, narrowing and narrowing until they all but flew open as your hand slid into your pants. You grip the headboard and moan, every rub of your fingers over your clit intensified by the blatant jealousy on Dante’s face. His arms started to move up-
“Down.” And they grip the headboard enough to make it crack.
“C’mon babe, at least let me see…”
You hum in thought, pulling your hand out of your pants. Dante’s eyes catch the way your fingers glisten with your wetness and just to be extra mean, you wipe it off on his chest. In his state he can smell your arousal just as well as he can see it, maybe even more so. He’s faintly trembling with his attempt to stay obedient enough for you to continue.
It takes some wiggling around, but you manage to slide your pants off and bare yourself to him. You lean back, spread your legs, and his mouth drops open.
“Nice,” He says, dumbly. You smirk and reach back to give his cock a quick stroke. He’s looking so hopeful now. “Planning on going for a ride?”
“Sort of,” You shrug and grab his hair, tugging his head back as he hisses softly. He knows what’s coming even before you shimmy your way up, is grinning even before you flip around to face his lower half.
“Oh, well. No complaints.” He mumbles before leaning up and burying his face between your legs, licking a long stripe over you. You shudder. Not yet, at least.
Dante’s cock twitches immediately in your grip and beneath you Dante groans, coming up to suck at your clit as if he could muffle himself like that. You stroke slow, squeezing tight- it’s not his favorite rhythm but it’s yours, for nothing more than the way his whole body seems to tense and twitch as you get to the tip. You rub your thumb against the head in circles and Dante pulls back and presses his forehead against your thigh, panting loud.
“Ah ah,” You let go immediately. “Get back to it.”
Like some sort of petty retaliation his tongue rubs your clit in slow circles and you squeak. Without Dante’s hands to hold you up as they usually do, it’s a full-time job to keep yourself steady above him. You pump his length hard and his pace doesn’t even falter this time even as his toes curl and his hips twitch up to meet your hand. The good behavior’s a trick to get his own treat out of it,you’re sure. But he’s not getting off that easily.
Dante’s already smirking by the time you lift yourself off his face, looking so smug for someone with that much wetness glistening in the whiskers of his beard.
“Showtime? And I was just getting warmed up-” He chokes gently as you move over his cock, pressing your hips down against his. You lift yourself to position, stroking him a few more times for good measure. As if he could get any harder at this point. You lower yourself on him. Slowly.
As wet as you are, his size barely feels a challenge until it finally registers. That familiar stretch of him, so thick that it makes you gasp. You pause, roll your hips and tremble from it. It’s so good you wonder if you could come from just this- but maybe that’s a question for another time. The next time Dante misbehaves, undoubtedly.
“Fuck,” You moan, leaning back and just bouncing yourself on the tip. Dante’s head falls back and his handcuffs rattle and rattle as he tugs on them even as he tries to hold still. He’s moaning over and over between his panting. Your hands fall to his chest and scratch down his stomach and his voice rolls into a growl, gaze catching yours under his half-lidded eyes.
You slide down him further, inch by inch until your hips almost touch. Even so aroused that you’re dripping down his length, you can’t fit all of him in you. You let out a shaky laugh in wonder. Your body jolts as Dante bucks up, and you’re scrambling against him to hold yourself up.
“Dante.”
“Move,” He complains, looking too pleased to have that whine in his voice. “C’mon, the ride of your life is right here.”
“Dante,” You say again, patiently, and you grip his chin. “You’re going to stay still until I tell you to, or I get off of you and fuck myself on my fingers. Got it?”
Dante latches onto the promise of ‘until you tell him to’ and nods reluctantly, stretching out his legs so he can’t leverage himself. You scratch under him under his chin like a prized pet and rock your hips slowly, sighing in pleasure. You could string him along like this for hours if you wanted- you know he has the stamina for it. You don’t, however, and you’ve wanted to come on his cock since the second you saw him spread out on the bed like a feast.
You lean back on one hand and bounce on him, free hand working down your body to scratch at your face, grip your thighs. Finally, it slides between your legs and you stroke where the two of you are joined. Dante trembles, letting out a desperate moan. It makes your head spin, watching him. The strongest man you’ve ever seen and he’s holding still as you tease him just because you told him to. You gasp the second you rub your clit and squeeze around him involuntarily, ripping a growl from his throat. You’re close already and you can both tell.
“Dante,” You moan, bucking down against him faster and pinching your clit. A grin spreads across his face and he purrs encouragement, arching as you lean forward and claw down his chest with your balancing arm.
“Let me fuck you, babe-- c’mon, I’ll make you come on my cock.” His hips give a few little bucks, and it’s more than you allowed but it hits so right that you don’t protest. “Babe...” You lean forward entirely, pinning his hands down by the chain between his cuffs. A reminder of exactly how much leash you’re giving him.
“Fuck me.”
His first thrust up nearly knocks you off him, and you squeeze your legs around him with a gasp. His pace is steady but his eyes are hungry, watching the way you buck and squirm on top of him like he wants to devour all of it. He gets his feet under himself, bucking harder. You’re bouncing on top of him like you weigh nothing, it’s all you can do to hold on as he’s sending you toppling over into climax as he all but growls in your ear. Every bit of you clenches around him, thighs cramping as they put up a valiant effort to squeeze him to death.
It keeps going and going. You tremble from head to toe as he slows his pace, generously giving you a second or two to breathe as you come down from it. You barely have the strength to lift yourself off of him and plant yourself on his thighs, letting go of the chain to lean back.
“Hey babe,” Dante interrupts, bucking his hips the tiniest bit to get your attention. “Think you’re forgetting something.”
He hasn’t come yet, cock bobbing up against his stomach and sweat glistening all over his chest. Well, you suppose he’s due to be off early for good behavior. You take one last deep, deep breath and smirk down at him.
“How do you want me?”
“Oh hell yeah,” Dante groans, and he’s snaps the handcuff chain in two faster than he can roll on top of you.

Stormbreaker Screenplay 2.0
Written to cope with my utter disappointment with the movie.
INTRODUCTION.
Earlier that day… A smart leather briefcase makes its way down a hallway, attached to it is a man in a navy suit, he is middle-aged and unremarkable, one of those banker types, this is IAN RIDER.
The hallway is so stark and white it would not look out of place in a hospital. He walks past two people dressed in white HAZMAT suits. There is an elevator at the end of the hallway which has a both a card scanner, and a 7-digit-code. He punches in the code without even looking. As the elevator door closes, one HAZMAT SUIT turns, in one fluid, graceful motion, and watches him.
CUT TO…6:30pm in the evening, a street somewhere in CHELSEA… Two large, loutish figures swagger down the sidewalk, swearing and grunting. Wannabe thugs, teenagers in baggy clothes and too much hair jell. But in the darkness the effect is menacing, rather than ridiculous. They're drunk and bored, a volatile combination…
Something shiny catches their eye, it's a brand new racing bike parked outside a dairy. THUG #1 gives a low WOLF-WHISTLE, it's one hell of a bike, high-tech and silver, looking like something out of a Bond movie. They waste no time trying to cut the lock with their pocket knives.
A VOICE interrupts them: Um, excuse me?
The THUGS look up. This little blond kid steps out of the dairy. He's about fourteen years old and wearing a school uniform. In one hand his holds a Cornetto, in the other, a juice box. It's ALEX RIDER.
ALEX: Excuse me, but, um, that's my bike.
CUT TO…The briefcase and IAN RIDER goes through an arduous security check, involving x-rays, metal detectors and sniffer dogs. It seems that they are as concerned with who goes out as who comes in. IAN RIDER explains something to A MAN ON THE PHONE.
IAN RIDER: …Family emergency. No, nothing serious, I should be back by Monday.
CUT TO…A Cornetto lies melting on the pavement, beside it, a puddle of red, oozing from a flattened juice box. ALEX wets a napkin on his tongue and dabs ineffectually at a red stain on the front of his shirt. His tie is a little crooked, and a few strands of hair have fallen over his eyes. The prone and prostrate forms of the two THUGS can be seen lying on the ground behind him.
ALEX throws his ice-cream, juice-box and two confiscated pocket knives into a nearby rubbish bin, looking very pleased with himself. THUNDER rumbles in the distance, and suddenly it starts to rain, rather put-out by the weather ruining his cool moment, ALEX hops onto his bike and pedals home.
CUT TO…IAN RIDER climbs into a sleek, silver BMW. He is meticulous, making all manner of small adjustments before he drives. As the car speeds off we hear a phone call he makes off-screen. An odd, brusque phone call. He wastes no time on pleasantries.
IAN RIDER: This is Rider. I'll arrive back in London in three hours and thirty-seven minuets.
He hangs up, hesitates, and enters another number… but he doesn't dial, he just stares at the row of digits, his face inscrutable. A moment later and the phone is turned off and returned to it's holder.
Heavy purple clouds sit low on the horizon, the BMW files like silver arrow. Thunder rumbles in the distance, a storm is coming.
CUT TO…A warm, brightly lit kitchen, rain patters on the roof outside. A young red-headed woman, is preparing dinner to the beat of LOUD ROCK MUSIC. This is JACK STARBRIGHT, the housekeeper, she is 28 years old and American. If a hurricane could cook, it would look something like this. However, this is controlled chaos, and she is a skilled chef.
JACK: AL—EX!
ALEX'S muffled answer can be heard from downstairs, in the laundry room.
He is stripped to the waist and wearing a towel hat, scrubbing at his stained shirt with a Tide Pen. His head bobs to the beat of MUFFLED ROCK MUSIC. It is plain to see he is unusually fit and muscular for his age.
ALEX: JA—CK?
JACK: DINNER'S READY!
ALEX: COMING!
ALEX grabs some clean clothes and runs up the stairs two at a time. He emerges at the top, completely dressed in a new set of clothes, in the way movie magic. He runs through the living room, and then doubles back and runs through again, because he forgot to do a sock-slide across the hardwood floors. He barely misses a cabinet full of antiques. JACK can evidently see through walls…
JACK: Alex!
ALEX (innocently): …Jack?
JACK: I swear to god, if you break another plate, I'm putting you up for adoption…
ALEX: (He glances guiltily at a conspicuous gap on the top shelf) It was only an ugly one… If you ask me, I was doing the country a service!
JACK: Don't just stand there, set the table! And clear that junk away!
ALEX: Half of this is yours!
They dance around each other in a familiar routine, and settle down for their dinner of two. Alex puts food away like he's performing a magic trick, checks his phone, and plays with a football under the table, it's an impressive display of multitasking. He laughs at a text.
JACK: Uh-uh. If you choke to death doing that, don't come crying to me for help.
ALEX: Hey, you're on your phone too.
JACK: I'm a adult, I've earned this right. (she puts it away) So, how was your day?
ALEX: I've changed my mind, go back to your phone, you've earned it.
JACK: (She steals the football from him) Well?
ALEX: (trying to steal it back) Oh, super exciting. Let's see…A plane crashed on the field, Tom got mauled by a lion and Beyoncé performed in the cafeteria.
JACK: (laughing) Did they catch the lion?
ALEX: (steals back the ball) Well actually, Beyoncé rode off on it—
The doorbell rings.
ALEX: (He glances at the downpour outside). Man, Jehovah's witnesses…nothing puts them off.
The doorbell rings a second time.
JACK: Uh! I just sat down. Coming! Coming! Hold your horses!
JACK gets up to answer the door. Alex tries to eat, but he keeps glancing back up. Finally his curiosity gets the better of him and he jumps up.
CUT TO…JACK looks through the peep-hole. She sees something that makes her eyes widen in shock. Her hand trembles on the doorknob.
CUT TO …ALEX makes his way into the hallway.
CUT TO…. The door opens to reveal two uniformed police officers, collars turned up against the torrential rain. They take off their caps in unison and tuck them respectfully under their arms. Their postures stiff and unhappy.
OFFICER #1: Is this the residence of Mr. Ian Rider?
JACK: Yes.
OFFICER #2: Mrs. Rider?
JACK: No, I'm the housekeeper…what is it? What's happened?
CUT TO…ALEX hears their voices speaking in hushed and somber tones. Funeral voices. He catches a few stray words here and there. CAR CRASH… SLIPPERY ROADS… NOT WEARING A SEATBELT… SO SORRY…
There is a low throbbing sound in his ears that is slowly growing louder. When he is finally able to move again, it feels like he is walking underwater.
ALEX: Jack?
JACK: (in tears) Oh Alex! It's Uncle Ian… He's dead.
JACK hugs ALEX and the police come inside. The door closes. Outside the wind howls ever louder, sheets of rain lashes against the windows and LIGHTENING flashes in the distance. FADE TO BLACK. In the distance, THUNDER.
QUE MAIN TITLE: STORMBREAKER

Notes:
I would like to thank AmberLily34567 for reviving my interest in this story.
- I'm trying to find a good balance between the high-energy, slightly over-the-top feeling of King's men, and the very dark tone of the book.
- Man, reading Alex Rider when your older vs when you're younger is such a trip… 12 yo me: WOW Alex is so cool and mature! 18 yo me: he's a BABY who the HELL thought this was a good idea. I'M CALLING CPS.
- A movie called Stormbreaker, without any storm imagery, seems like a wasted opportunity! Embrace those clichés!
SPOILERS ALERT
- The man in the HAZMAT SUIT is Yassen.
- Ian was shot somewhat close to London, and the storm covered up the gunshots. It was done by underlings, hence the sloppy job that left the car looking like Swiss cheese.
- Yassen kills Ian, but does not pull the trigger. That's how he justifies it.
- Ian had very bad luck. His actions made Yassen suspicious, but he might have survived, had he not resembled John so much…
- Ironically this resemblance is exactly what saves Alex…
- Ian entered Alex's number, in a moment of sentiment, because he knew that he might not make it out alive. In my interpretation, Ian genuinely loves Alex, and wanted to protect him, not just to make him the perfect spy. It makes their relationship far more painful and complicated.

The year has come and gone. Henry and Bendy have settled at an old cabin, one belonging to Henry's side of the family. A place that hadn't been used in years. A bit of sprucing and it's ready for the holidays, with the snow drifting down to the ground for the perfect white Christmas. But it's not Christmas yet, and there's still activities to be done - and food to be had!
_______________________________________________________________ A cabin of cedar and pine stood as a beacon of warmth among blankets of snow in the shade of the evergreen trees. The wooden awning over-top the front door was lined with Christmas lights, twinkling as they remained unperturbed by the wind. The interior lights shined and illuminated the outside furniture and the pathway stones that were barely peeking out from freshly shoveled snow. A gruff older man walked up the front steps, setting a snow shovel off to the side as he opened the front door. He was covered in powder from the snowflakes floating down from the pine needles and he shook it off like a dog would water. He pulled off his knit gloves. Red calloused hands showed just how soaked the articles were before he moved to pull off his stocking cap and unravel the scarf tucked into his jacket and nestled tightly to his nose. The pitter-patter of steps came from the creaky wooden boards above as a small set of feet ran down the stairs. A horned head with pie-cut eyes and a huge grin greeted the man as the toon ran over, tugging on the hem of the older man’s coat. He chuckled. “Give me a minute, Bendy, just hold on.” He moved, shrugging the coat off as the little toon took it.
The little devil seemed to have found an old sweater lying about the cabin, hand stitched and clearly too big for him. It draped almost below his knees in length, and the sleeves were falling over his hands and dragging across the floor. Despite this he was still able to take the man’s jacket, fiddling with the scrawled out mark on the cleaning tag labeled ‘Henry’ before doing his best to shake it out and run it over to the coat rack. A couple of steps up on a chair and the little toon was able to toss it onto the hook. He hopped down, peering up at Henry as he finished putting everything else off to the side. His nose was red and his eyes squinted slightly as he smiled. “I see you’re able to get around more easily.” Bendy nodded, tugging on the man’s free hand. He frowned for a moment, feeling the cold radiating from it and he stared as his brows furrowed, changing his mind seemingly mid tug as he went from pulling Henry towards the stairs to dragging him towards the fire instead. He laughed, letting the toon tug him along. “I’m not that cold -- I was prepared!” he insisted but Bendy wasn’t completely buying it, pulling the man by the fire before throwing a blanket at him. He kept laughing, moving the blanket around his shoulders before his eyes caught sight of the pine tree on the far side of the room. The tree was decorated with a variety of ornaments. Metallic orbs caught the light and seemed to sparkle with it. There were a couple of simple stuffed dolls with halos and wings. Those were sprinkled about in good number and Henry could feel a small twinge in his chest at what they meant. Tinsel was sprinkled around the needles as it seemed to reach for the top of the tree -- unadorned, as it was. Bendy followed his gaze, almost jumping as he rushed to the tree and quickly began to set aside the broken pieces of ornaments and the clumps of tinsel that had seemingly missed their mark. He turned and gave Henry a sheepish grin. Henry hadn’t even noticed the mess until the toon had drawn attention to it and he shook his head with a bemused smile. He wrapped the blanket around himself tightly, looking between the couch and the rocking chair as if pondering where he might want to relax before he felt another tug, this time from the end of the blanket. Bendy’s grin was broad but shaky as he held up a five pointed star. His feet seemed to toe at the ground as he pointed back at the tree. Realization dawned on Henry then and he patted the toon’s head, a gentle rub between the horns as Bendy relaxed. “Need help there, kiddo?” He nodded, skipping towards the tree as Henry followed. He hoisted Bendy into the air with a single huff, moving him close enough to the tree to be able to top it with the star. It was a simple thing -- metallic and gold and practically made of glued together, crumpled ole aluminum but it still made a good topper. He set the toon down, who beamed and looked to the star, a single gloved hand gripping the edge of the blanket as he stood by the old animator. Yeah, it was a nice tree. Henry paused in his thoughts, once again remembering the couch and the chair before another idea came to mind. He started walking, Bendys grip slipping from the blanket as he moved. “It’s cold in here, ain’t it? I got an idea to get us both warmed up.” Bendy’s head tilted, curious as he followed Henry out into the tightly knit kitchen. He hopped up onto one of the chairs, standing as his hands rested on the table -- his body waist height to the edge. He watched the human meander about the cabinets as he grabbed a couple of mugs and placed a pot on the stove. A jug of milk was taken out of the refrigerator and poured into the pot as the heat was turned on. It was only when the chocolate was taken out of the sideboard cabinet that the toon’s curiosity got the better of him and he smacked the table to get the man’s attention. His hands went by in a wave, a question flitting about as his fingers moved in sign and Henry placed a finger to his lips in a motion for silence. “You’ll see.” Chocolate was grated into fine bits and set off to the side. Mini marshmallows were grabbed in fist fulls out of plastic before being sprinkled into a bowl. An old wooden spoon was taken from its holder on the counter before being dipped into the milk with slow stirring motions. Every once in awhile Henry would lift a bit of milk to taste, humming as he did so before the temperature was just right and he put the chocolate in, stirring some more as the milk darkened and browned. Bendy tried his best to peak from the table but couldn’t see much more than the small plumes of steam as they rose up from the pot. Henry turned the heat off with a click he moved to pour the drink into the mugs. Some of it spilled across the counter and the toon sprung into action, jumping down from his chair and running to grab a towel before handing it off to the animator. Henry thanked him as he cleaned the spills up. Soon after the mugs were moved to the table and Bendy hopped back up into his chair, staring at the cup that was slid over to him. The scent wafted with the vapor and the devil watched as the man slid a chair out to sit down and plop a few sticky marshmallows into his own cup. The man took a sip and contently closed his eyes. It took a moment for them to peak back open, brow raising at the toon that only seemed to be staring at him as if he’d grown an extra head. “Well?” He spoke, a lilt to his voice as he slid the bowl of marshmallows over and motioned towards the drink. Bendy frowned, looking towards the mug with furrowed brows as he picked it up with over-sized mit's. He watched what looked like white foam swirl atop the mixture before pressing it hesitantly to his lips and taking a sip. A warm sweet sensation washed over him and he let it sit for a bit before swallowing it. He felt tingly and the warmth that spread from the base of his fingers down his arms and radiated out from his belly seemed to agree with the pleasantness of the drink. He beamed and Henry chuckled, taking another sip of the cocoa. “Thought you’d like it. It’s hot chocolate.” Bendy seemed to take this in for a moment, looking down towards the mixture as he took another sip. It was only after he had swallowed this bit that he had looked to the balls of sugary fluff still on the table and decided to plop some in. The spoon sitting in the glass suddenly seemed to make sense, and he spun it, watching as some of the marshmallows would duck under the liquid before popping back up, drizzled in milky chocolate. He even watched as Henry seemed to scoop up some of the cocoa in the spoon and pour it over the sugary floats before he did the same. They squished and puffed in his mouth with the taste of cocoa. It was nice. The afternoon passed by in warmth as the fire was stoked and the days chores tackled. Dusting and cleaning among other tasks and Bendy helped too -- taking a feather duster as he went around the very bottoms of book shelves and chairs. He even managed to disturb a mouse before Henry got them to go upstairs to dust instead. Henry moved around boxes, setting them aside in the storage space as Bendy freely explored the one room he had yet to be in since they’d gotten to the little cabin. Looting through boxes but always picking items up gently, inspecting them before putting them just as they were. He even found a teddy bear, so dusty that a puff of the specks came flying out and he tilted his head, wiping the bear off before setting him on top of another box just above his head. He leaned up on tip-toes, patting the stuffed animal between the ears before he kept looking around through the boxes. His hand brushed against something and he looked more closely before grinning. Henry was stacking another box up to deal with later. He swiped a hand across his brow -- his aching body a sour reminder of just how old he was getting as he felt a tug. He looked down. Bendy was still wearing the same sweater he had on before but this time he was wearing more. A pink hat, frilled with white feathers sat on his horns and covered up one of his eyes. He also had on an apron not made for his frame -- the white material was splotched with different shades of color, worn and used. The neck loop hung around a shoulder, big enough for his head to fit through but not small enough to stay on his body. The rest of the apron was dragging across the floor and the toon had to be careful not to step on it. He raised up his arms, sweater covered hands clasping the ends of the apron that should have been tied around his waist.
Henry’s heart swelled, and not just from Bendy standing on his tiptoes, hands reaching upward as far as he could stretch. The little toon was practically playing dress up with the old articles that had been lying around for years untouched. Seeing them being used again after all this time was a little bit nostalgic and he bent down, picking the little devil darling up in his arms. “Having fun?” The toon nodded vigorously while Henry just raised a brow. “You sure you want that hat?” Bendy almost seemed to huff, cheeks puffing out before he adjusted the frilly thing on his head, tilting it back to a more acceptable angle with the aprons ties still flopping around in his hands. He grinned triumphantly, hands on his hips as the hat fell back down over his eye and Henry laughed. “Fair enough,” He spoke, carrying the toon out of the room. “But if you want an apron we might have to get you a different one, that one definitely doesn’t fit.”
__ If they noticed the blue of the sky turning to fuchsia neither mentioned it. They were once again back in the kitchen, the smell of tomatoes made their way around as Bendy stirred the soup. It wasn’t bacon soup -- the toon couldn’t even find any bacon in the fridge, much to his own dismay, but Henry had promised that this new combination was just as good. He did his best to believe him but he couldn’t help the skepticism he sent through his eyes whenever he glanced at the man beside him. Bread and cheese in a pan with a little bit of butter coating the outside edges, a sandwich if Bendy ever saw one. But he wasn’t sure why it’d go well with tomato soup, much less why you’d put it in a pan. Somedays he wished the studio had had more promotional food items. The table was set and the water was poured -- cheese melty and hot poured out between toasted slices of bread as Henry cut the sandwiches in half. Bendy rested his head on the table, watching as pickles were sliced and placed around the edges of the plate as a decoration before it was set in front of him along with a small bowl of the tomato soup. It certainly smelled nice if Bendy could say anything about it at all and he pulled his sweaters sleeves back, the excess material bunching up at his elbows as he picked up a sandwich half and dropped it back down onto the plate in the next instance. “Careful, it’s hot!” Henry smiled, blowing on his own sandwich before tentatively picking it up. Bendy watched as Henry dipped it into the soup, letting the excess dribble back into the bowl before taking a bite of the meal. The old animator knew he was being watched, for even with his eyes closed he gave a content hum and touched his middle finger to his thumb. “It’s great,” He spoke, mouth full and he swallowed. “Try it. Grilled cheese is great with tomato soup.” Bendy looked down, blowing on the grilled cheese before he picked it up -- just as slowly and delicately as Henry had. His head turned as he dipped it into the soup, raising it as he watched the droplets plop back into the bowl before doing it again and raising it to his mouth. He bit into it, cheese hot but less so then it was as it melted and flowed with the creamy soup. He swallowed, his mouth feeling oily and he wiped his mouth on the back of his gloves before dipping the entire sandwich in the soup up to his fingertips. Henry only smiled as he watched, the toon eating one half and then the next and then holding up a half of a pickle as it flopped over and touched the back of the little demons hand. He looked at it, looking to the soup and before Henry could tell him no he dipped it in and ate it like that as well, unperturbed and Henry laughed. “Well, that’s one way to eat a pickle.” He hummed, looking at the remaining slice of dill on his own plate before trying what Bendy had done. Strange, but not bad. Bendy beamed. __ The stars were just beginning to come out when they found themselves wrapped up next to the fire. Henry had managed to find a comfortable enough position by the flames and between him and Bendy was a box of graham crackers, a bag full of (bigger) marshmallows and a couple bars of chocolate. Metal prods usually used to stoke the fire were being used as roasters instead, and Bendy watched as the flames lapped up and made the marshmallows puff up more and more. He took his out of the flames when it caught on fire, however, and the ink running down his brow signaled his panic even as Henry leaned over and blew out the flame. The smell of carbon made Bendy’s face scrunch up and Henry laughed. “Still edible,” He commented mid bite on a marshmallow as he stuck another one on the prod and shrouded it in the flames. Bendy watched as it also caught on fire but Henry let it go like that, letting it get a nice coat of charcoal before blowing it out. “You ever made s'mores before?” Bendy shook his head, poking at his own marshmallow as it stretched and dripped onto the floor and stuck more readily to his fingers. Henry smiled, eyes crinkling. “Here, let me show you. They’re really good I promise.” A graham cracker was fitted with two little rectangles of chocolate, fitted then with the charcoal-mallow before being squeezed in between another cracker. The melty goo overflowed off the edges and Henry licked his fingers of the excess before taking a messy crunch out of the s’more. Marshmallow stuck to teeth, the cracker becoming harder to hold onto as a couple of pieces fell to the floor and he pulled it away, chewing. Bendy almost seemed to laugh himself though no noise came out and he quickly moved to do the same thing Henry had. He was beginning to think sweets might be his new favorite kind of food. With company, anyway. __ It was late as the stars fully took over the night sky that Henry had finally fallen asleep. He was tucked in, courtesy of the little darling devil himself as the toon rested against the cold window, sitting on the sill with another hot cup of cocoa (he’d insisted). A knit beanie was pulled over his horns, the tips only slightly poking out at the top and he had the over-sized sweater pulled over his knees to the cuffs of his shoes. His feet slid a bit as he adjusted them, and he let his face rest against the cool glass, the contrast between the cold and the heat radiating from his hands soothing in its own way. A couple of white streaks flew by in the sky, drawing the attention of pie cut eyes as he watched the specks sparkle. He breathed against the glass, a puff of condensation wafting over it as he thought back to the pools of ink. How under the dim lighting it too sparkled and flowed… But even as he thought about it, it no longer scared him -- not up here. Not where the sun would rise and warm his skin, even if the night turned into something similar to what he had been through it was always infinitely better. The moon was a beacon -- a beacon of hope -- and it always signaled that the sun was still there, even as it floated among the murky darkness. Murky darkness that had shades, that had color , and that could no longer hold him down to the Ink machine, hold any of them down to the Ink machine. To a sickening game that none of them wanted to play. He breathed in and out. He thought about blankets of snow as they were in daylight -- so bright and more white then he’d ever seen in his life. He thought of the even smaller bright white rabbits, hopping to and fro in fluff and mush as they skittered along the snow drifts. He thought of Henry, safe and sound who started to snore on his place on the couch and he shook in a giggle that would never sound out from his core. Hot cocoa was wrapped in hands that radiated the coldness of ink, of ink that enjoyed warmth, and he closed his eyes. The window fogged up with each exhale, and dripped with the steam wafting up from the mug. He never even realized that it had been Christmas eve as the jingling of bells drifted him off to sleep.
A/N: This is Another of the fics I’m just now posting to Tumblr as well and can originally be found on my AO3. This is based around the HEA!AU (Happily Ever After Reel) by @a-rae-of-sunshine -- an adorable AU full of fluffy goodness where Bendy, Henry, Allison and Tom all get to be happy (Said Allison and Tom arrive in a theoretical second chapter that I have an outline for but have yet to write. I want to get it up by the end of January, but if I don’t have it up by then I may never get to it). I had finished writing this around the time @a-rae-of-sunshine had started posting their own Christmas story, and I held onto this to edit it a bit more (and I'd be lying if I said I didn't get cold feet for awhile there) before posting it up. Merry Belated Christmas everyone and Happy New Year! I know this entire story is pretty much just eating food but all these foods are ones I have fond memories of, in one way or another. I hope I made them seem cozy enough. This is probably the first fic I've written where I hadn't had a name for it by the time I was done writing it. Usually that's one of the first things I come up with, but this one didn't come until my glorious friend and editor Eggu supreme recommended 'Kindle for the Heart' (yes, Heart -- I changed it to Hearth) and I rolled with it from there. Thanks Egg ( @pathalt )!

Stormbreaker Screenplay 2.0
Written to cope with my utter disappointment with the movie.
INTRODUCTION.
Earlier that day… A smart leather briefcase makes its way down a hallway, attached to it is a man in a navy suit, he is middle-aged and unremarkable, he could have been anyone, a banker, a lawyer or a businessman, but something about his brisk, purposeful movements and piercing gaze sets him apart. This is IAN RIDER.
They’re drunk and bored, a volatile combination…
Something shiny catches their eye, it’s a brand new racing bike parked outside a dairy. THUG #1 gives a low WOLF-WHISTLE, it’s one hell of a bike, high-tech and silver, looking like something out of a Bond movie. They waste no time trying to cut the lock with their pocket knives.
A VOICE interrupts them: Um, excuse me?
The THUGS look up. This little blond kid steps out of the dairy. He’s about fourteen years old and wearing a school uniform. In one hand his holds a Cornetto, in the other, a juice box. It’s ALEX RIDER.
ALEX: Excuse me, but, um, that’s my bike.
I’ll arrive back in London in three hours and thirty-seven minuets.
He hangs up, hesitates, and enters another number… but he doesn’t dial, he just stares at the row of digits, his face inscrutable. A moment later and the phone is turned off and returned to it’s holder.
ALEX’S muffled answer can be heard from downstairs, in the laundry room.
He is stripped to the waist and wearing a towel hat, scrubbing at his stained shirt with a Tide Pen. His head bobs to the beat of MUFFLED ROCK MUSIC. It is plain to see he is unusually fit and muscular for his age.
ALEX: JA—CK?
JACK: DINNER’S READY!
JACK: I swear to god, if you break another plate, I’m putting you up for adoption…
ALEX: (He glances guiltily at a conspicuous gap on the top shelf) It was only an ugly one… If you ask me, I was doing the country a service!
JACK: Don’t just stand there, set the table! And clear that junk away!
ALEX: Half of this is yours!
They dance around each other in a familiar routine, and settle down for their dinner of two. Alex puts food away like he’s performing a magic trick, checks his phone, and plays with a football under the table, it’s an impressive display of multitasking. He laughs at a text.
JACK: Uh-uh. If you choke to death doing that, don’t come crying to me for help.
ALEX: Hey, you’re on your phone too.
JACK: I’m a adult, I’ve earned this right. (she puts it away) So, how was your day?
ALEX: I’ve changed my mind, go back to your phone, you’ve earned it.
JACK: (She steals the football from him) Well?
ALEX: (trying to steal it back) Oh, super exciting. Let’s see…A plane crashed on the field, Tom got mauled by a lion and Beyoncé performed in the cafeteria.
JACK: (laughing) Did they catch the lion?
ALEX: (steals back the ball) Well actually, Beyoncé rode off on it—
The doorbell rings.
ALEX: (He glances at the downpour outside). Man, Jehovah’s witnesses…nothing puts them off.
Rider?
JACK: No, I’m the housekeeper…what is it? What’s happened?
CUT TO…ALEX hears their voices speaking in hushed and somber tones. Funeral voices. He catches a few stray words here and there. CAR CRASH… SLIPPERY ROADS… NOT WEARING A SEATBELT… SO SORRY…
There is a low throbbing sound in his ears that is slowly growing louder. When he is finally able to move again, it feels like he is walking underwater.
ALEX: Jack?
JACK: (in tears) Oh Alex! It’s Uncle Ian… He’s dead.

- I’m trying to find a good balance between the high-energy, slightly over-the-top feeling of King’s men, and the very dark tone of the book.
- Man, reading Alex Rider when your older vs when you’re younger is such a trip… 12 yo me: WOW Alex is so cool and mature! 18 yo me: he’s a BABY who the HELL thought this was a good idea. I’M CALLING CPS.
That’s how he justifies it.
- Ian had very bad luck. His actions made Yassen suspicious, but he might have survived, had he not resembled John so much…
- Ironically this resemblance is exactly what saves Alex…
- Ian entered Alex’s number, in a moment of sentiment, because he knew that he might not make it out alive. In my interpretation, Ian genuinely loves Alex, and wanted to protect him, not just to make him the perfect spy. It makes their relationship far more painful and complicated.

Cutie Reviews: YumeTwins April 19

“The cherry blossoms are blooming, the weather is getting warmer, and our furry little friends are out to play! This time of year motivates us to get outside and enjoy the magical season that is spring! We absolutely love having picnics in the park during cherry blossom season and watching all the cute pets run around. Beautiful scenes like this inspire us to get creative and sketch, paint, and write so we can share it with our friends and loved ones. That is why for this month’s theme being Fluffy Pen-Pals, we’ve filled this box with kawaii animal friends and spring goodies that will allow you to get creative and inspired! We hope you enjoy these kawaii goodies as much as we enjoyed putting this box together for you!“
Yume Prize

This month, inspired by the fluffy theme we have goods featuring Rilakkuma and Pochakko.
Photo Contest

Meanwhile, cuddly Kuromi is the focus of the photo contest.
Pets Lunch Mat

Purrfect for a picnic during spring, or just on the go or at the table, we get this adorable cloth mat covered in various dog and cat prints and colors. You might recognize these designs, as I’ve gotten a few past items featuring very similar shiba.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
No, there isn’t much to it. But it’s pretty cute isn’t it? It adds a fun touch to meals and would probably be a suitable item for messy or young eaters, or suitable for those moments when you’re not at a table. You could probably use it for crafts too, and I assume it’s easy to wash. . .
Shiba and Neko Strawberry Plush

To go with the puppies and kitties in the previous item, we also get an adorable fluffy companion. Each plush is 25cm and there are three different colors of both the cat and dog. I got the light grey shiba, but I would have loved to have gotten the pink kitty~ It also has a pink button (by that I mean... the thing Pompompurrin has), which I think is kind of cute.
Their strawberry hat is also removable! According to the booklet, you can also wear it, which I think is a fun little idea.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
The plush is very mochi marshmallow squishy like, but it doesn’t have as much stuffing. It’s very soft and stretchy, but I feel like it could have used a little bit more stuffing, because to me the paws look kind of weird and shriveled up. The strawberry hat is the same, and again I like how you can remove it, so you could put it on other things, or just take it off to change your animals look. However, the stem pieces are made of felt and as such one of the leaf on mine is bent and I can’t fix it.
Cube Toothbrush Stand

Now for something a bit different, we have an adorable little cube used for holding a toothbrush. These come in a large variety of Sanrio characters, and Doraemon, Snoopy, and Kirby characters!
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I kind of went over this in the previous review from DokiDoki Crate, but I don’t really have much use for a toothbrush stand due to the ones I use. But I do have various “teeth tools“ I could use it for instead, or holding ear cleaners... or or or as I discovered, it’s perfect for holding a pen!
It makes a great pen holder and I’ve been having fun using it for that, it almost gives it a fancy look, like those pens you find in offices or banks attached to the ball chain.
I can guarantee that’s probably what I’ll be using it for~
Plushie Magnet

(sorry for bad lighting, I took the picture but somehow it didn’t save so I had to re-take it.)
Our next item once again features the various cast of Rilakkuma and Sumikko Gurashi, but this time in the form of a semi-cuddly magnet :D This adorable magnet is very fluffy and plush-like, and on the back is a small rounded magnet (which can be shifted around as I discovered). It’s cute pastel tones make it an adorable spring accessory (although mine kind of gives me winter vibes you know~) for hanging up papers, photo’s, or just decoration.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I don’t really have much to say about it, but I really like it. It’s so cute and adorable. My only annoyance is that I’m not sure I’ll actually get to use it, because I was informed it’ll probably collect dust and hair, and in having it un-packaged I noticed that this was indeed true. Kind of annoying. But I still want to use it, so I’ll probably end up finding a place for it after we move...
Pokemon Pen & Kawaii Notepad

Now some actual stationery, our first item is an adorable Pokemon-themed Pen. There was 4 available in 2 different styles, a basic pen featuring Pikachu and various foods, available in brown or black- or there is a thinner, sorta fancier looking pen in either pink or white featuring Eeevee.
I feel like there’s no real point in giving the pen an in-depth review. It’s a typical pen, but it has no trouble writing, dotting, or anything. The ink lasts a long time without dropping or becoming faint, I think it’s a pretty good quality pen and would recommend it.
-------
Our final item is an adorable, pastel colorful notepad based on the recent trend of drink science and the unique containers people are coming up with to put them in for an instagram worthy pic. There was 9 variants (one of which was Yeastken, so I’m glad I didn’t get it twice...) and I think out of all of all the options, this is the one I’d have wanted. I’m very happy I got it!

There are 2 different styles of paper in this pad, one facing vertical while the other is horizontal. The pages feature designs from the front, which have a clear cover over it to help keep it clean.
Again, I feel like there’s no real actual point in rating this. Notepads are notepads, it’s pretty much like the Yeastken one I just got (they’re by the same brand). Paper is fine, it is written on very smooth and cleanly. I think this is very very very very very cute~! I love how shiny the spine seam piece across the top is.
♡ Cutie Ranking ♡
Content - 4.5 out of 5. I feel really content with this box. I’m not sure I’m in love with it or anything, but the quality of each item was great, and everything had variety and is practical, which as you know is very important. I sort of felt like there wasn’t much of an evenness in terms of the size of items though, but it’s probably for obvious reasons.
Theme: 3.5 out of 5. I felt conflicted over this one, because it was very similar to the previous box in that it features cuddly animals. I mean don’t get me wrong I adore animals and kawaii goods, obviously, and because of how the box carried itself the items had a different feel about them. However, I kind of wish the box actually played up the fluffy part of the theme more (the Photo Prize and Yume Prize did excellent in improving that but not everyone gets it...), and given the description I feel like they should have given the box more of a spring vibe. I can see the pen-pal part, but only a little...
Total Rank: 7 out of 10. I liked the content and I would recommend this one. But I did have a little concern that due to how small a majority of items were, I’m not sure this box would cost as much as we pay. But I don’t really have any way of finding that stuff out, so I could be wrong due to being name brand and all.
♡ Cutie Scale ♡
1. Cube Toothbrush Stand - I might not have gotten my first choice but I do like Rilakkuma, so I’m not complaining either. I’m obviously going to use this as a pen stand more than its intended purpose, but I also like how fun it is in general. If I could I’d buy the rest of the collection just to decorate with :P
2. Strawberry Inu/Neko Plushie - Even though I am a cat person, I can’t resist how sweet this doggy looks~ He’s so squishy soft, he’ll make a great bed time companion; I’m kinda looking forward to dressing him up a little too~
3. Notepad - I have several of these so I can’t say it was a necessary item either in my case, but I love how cute it is! I love stroking the textured spine seam thingy on top, and admiring the adorable drawings all over it and in it~
4. Pokemon Pen - It’s so sweet looking, the pastel colors and drawings are adorable. I kind of wish I got the sleeker pen with metal accents but I’m very impressed by how smoothly this one writes. I really like it so I’ll probably keep it nearby.
5. Lunch Mat - Not a necessary item, but I do like it. It’s pretty neat to use, and I’ll probably end up folding it up and bringing it with me, so if I end up eating in the car or somewhere else, I’d have it just in case.
6. Plush Magnet - As cute as it is, I’m not sure if I’ll end up using it. I’d hate to have to clean it all the time due to pet hair or dust snagging it.

gabe & tatum june 11th
Tatum finished putting on Miska’s harness before clipping on his leash and standing up. “He’s all set.” She calls out to Gabe before slipping on some sunglasses.
Gabe gets on his hat and sunglasses, "Easy enough."
She smiles at him and gently taps his hat, “Alright let’s go.”
He nods and takes Miska's leash before bringing them out to the car and letting Miska into the back.
Tatum follows him out to the car and gets into the passenger seat.
Gabe gets in and smiles, "I think he's very happy with the amount we've been taking him out."
She glances back at Miska with a laugh, “He’s a lucky guy, huh?”
He laughs and reaches back, petting Miska's head before starting the car and starting to drive.
Tatum grins and leans into her seat, “And thankfully he’s willing to go at my slooow pace.”
Gabe laughs softly, “He’s a patient guy.”
She laughs with him and shakes her head, “And I’m not usually so appreciate you both.”
He laughs and holds his hand out to her.
Tatum takes his hand and smiles softly.
Gabe grins and laces their fingers together.
She kisses his shoulder quickly and hums, “Have you ever been up to Joshua Tree?”
He nods his head, "A few times."
Tatum smiles and nods her head, “I’ve always heard people talk about it. It looks beautiful.”
Gabe grins, "Is that where you wanna go?"
Tatum shrugs with a smile, “One day.”
He shrugs and smiles. “We can go now.”
She raises her brows and laughs softly, “Really?”
Gabe raises his brows, "Why not?"
Tatum laughs and shrugs one shoulder as she squeezes his hand, “Let’s go. How far is it?”
He hums, "Two and a half hours with traffic?"
She raises her brows and nods with a laugh, “I’m in. How about pup? He’ll be okay right?”
Gabe nods and smiles, "Yeah, he loves long car rides."
Tatum reaches back and scratches behind Miska’s ears with a grin, “Perfect. Can we stop and get coffee first?”
He laughs and nods, "sure. Coffee Bean?"
She nods and slips her hand back into his, “Yeah, that works. Just need caffeine. Actually may check on some work if we have a two hour drive.”
Gabe nods his head, "Okay."
Tatum hums softly and squeezes his hand, “I’m pretty excited now.”
He smiles, "it'll be fun."
She brushes her thumb over the back of his hand, “Plus any time we can bring Miska, it makes everything better.”
Gabe nods and smiles, “That’s true. Drive thru or do you wanna go in?”
Tatum shrugs with a smile, “Either works.”
He smiles, “drive thru will be easier with Miska.” He pulls into the drive thru lane.
She nods and smiles, “Yeah, makes sense.”
Gabe smiles, “What would you like?”
Tatum strokes the back of his hand, “Black americano, please.”
He nods and pulls up, ordering two for them and a doggy treat for Miska.
She hums softly and smiles, “Hear that, Miska? You get a treat too.”
Miska sticks his head between theirs and pants excitedly.
Tatum lets go of his hand and laughs as she scratches his head.
Gabe laughs and pulls up to get their items.
She grins and shakes her head, “I just love this pup. He’s so funny.”
He laughs and nods, “He’s the best.” He hands her her coffee before putting his in the cup holder then giving Miska his treat.
Tatum smiles at him, “Thanks, babe.” She takes her cup and sips it with a hum.
Gabe grins. “You’re welcome.”
She leans back in her seat and sips her drink again, “Just what I needed.”
He laughs, “Oh good.” Miska excitedly eats his treat and Gabe starts to drive again.
Tatum looks back at Miska and smiles as she sips her drink.
Gabe laughs as he glances at the dog in the rear view mirror, “I love him.”
She looks over at him and laughs, “Man’s best friend, hm?”
He nods and smiles, “Really is.”
Tatum smiles and sips her drink, “I can’t wait to get my own pup. He makes me want one even more because he’s so good.”
Gabe chuckles as he drives, “He is the best.”
She smiles as she pulls out a notebook from her bag.
He glances at her and shakes his head with a smile.
Tatum looks up and laughs softly, “What?”
Gabe chuckles, "Always working."
She wrinkles her nose and laughs, “I can’t help it.”
He laughs, “Can too.”
Tatum sips her coffee and shrugs with a hum, “Well one of us has to do the heavy lifting.”
He makes a face, "Tatum."
She smirks and shrugs one shoulder at him.
Gabe shakes his head and rolls his eyes.
Tatum grins at him before leaning over to kiss his shoulder, “I like working.”
He laughs, "Too much."
She hums and shrugs again, “I’ve heard that before.”
Gabe laughs, "Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so."
Tatum rolls her eyes and shakes her head, “Just be grateful we are basically finished with your songs. I’ll be someone else’s problem soon enough.”
He pouts, "You'll always be my problem."
She grins and leans over to him, “That’s true. I like being your problem the most so stop pouting.”
He turns his head and quickly nips at her lower lip.
Tatum laughs and shakes her head before nipping at his jaw.
Gabe chuckles and moves one hand to rest on her thigh.
She grins and sits back in her seat, “Can I work without judgement now?”
He sighs, "Fine."
Tatum squeezes his hand and smiles, “Thank you, babe.”
Gabe laughs, "You're welcome."
She runs her fingers over the back of his hand as she writes with her free hand.
He smiles to himself at her touch.
Tatum continues as she works for a little while before closing her notebook, “Okay, my head is starting to hurt from the writing and driving.”
Gabe chuckles, “I’m sorry.”
She shrugs and laughs, “Hey, at least it stopped me from being a workaholic.”
He smiles, “Thank god.”
Tatum rolls her eyes and laughs, “How long do we have anyways?”
Gabe checks the gps, “Forty-five.”
She hums softly and nods her head, “Fast little road trip then.”
He laughs, “We lucked out on traffic and also I’m a fast driver.”
Tatum laughs with him and nods to the car, “And a fast car.”
Gabe laughs, “I still could’ve gotten us here in a different car in the same time.”
She squeezes his hand and grins, “Fast and furious.” Tatum shakes her head, “Meanwhile I don’t remember the last time I’ve driven a car.”
He chuckles, “Such a New Yorker.”
Tatum grins and shrugs one shoulder, “I never liked driving anyways. I was pretty terrible at it.”
Gabe laughs, “You need a Tesla so it can do most of the driving for you.”
She laughs and shakes her head, “And in 10 years I could afford it.”
He chuckles, "You can try driving mine."
Tatum raises her brows at him and laughs, “You sure you want me to risk this car?”
Gabe laughs, "Like I said, it'll do most of the driving for you."
She hums softly and plays with his fingers, “Maybe. I don’t want to wreck it.”
He laughs, "I'll let you take it for a spin in a parking lot."
Tatum laughs and leans over to kiss his shoulder, “Deal, babe.”
Gabe smiles and gently squeezes her leg.
She smiles at his touch and looks back at Miska, “But not when he’s in the car.”
He laughs, "That's a given."
Tatum smiles and looks ahead with a hum, “It’s already so beautiful and we aren’t even officially there yet.”
Gabe looks around and nods, "It is."
She draws her finger along his wrist as she looks out the window, “I will say the nature in California is a major plus.”
He laughs, "Yeah, all you have in New York City is a few parks."
Tatum shakes her head and laughs, “Right. I mean you can leave the city and get some of it but not as accessible. Especially since I hate driving.”
Gabe laughs, “And you don’t have a car.”
She laughs and nods her head, “Exactly. Now I have a personal driver, you.”
He laughs and shakes his head.
Tatum grins and squeezes his hand, “Am I wrong?”
Gabe laughs, “Yes, I don’t even drive that much.”
She nods with a laugh, “True but to be fair the only places I go are the studio and your house. Anywhere else is with you so personal driver.”
He rolls his eyes and laughs.
Tatum laughs and shrugs again, “Or fine the creepy Uber drivers are it for me then.”
Gabe laces their fingers together and laughs, "Stoooop."
She grins and squeezes his hand, “Fiiine. But you’re my driver.”
He rolls his eyes, "I drive you, but I'm not a driver."
Tatum leans over and nips at his jaw, “I’ll take it.”
Gabe laughs and squeezes her hand.
She laughs and kisses his cheek gently, “I think I won that one.”
He gives her a small look and pulls into the park, "Be nice."
Tatum grins and leans back into her seat, “Oh I’m always nice, babe.”
Gabe rolls his eyes and laughs, "Sure."
She wrinkles her nose at him and laughs, “Okay, lets go.”
He gets out and opens her door before getting Miska out.
Tatum thanks him and looks around with a smile, “Wow..”
Gabe looks at her and smiles, "It is beautiful."
She glances at him with a soft hum, “Thank you for bringing me here.”
He smiles and kisses her temple, "you're welcome."
Tatum smiles and leans closer to him, “Lead the way.”
Gabe smiles and takes her hand, holding Miska's leash and leading her to a trail.
She laces her fingers with his and follows him with a smile, “This is just so different from anywhere I’ve been.”
He smiles, "I know, open land."
Tatum nods with a laugh, “Fresh air..less people.”
Gabe smiles, "And a happy dog."
She grins as she looks at Miska walking with them, “He’s one of the best parts.”
He laughs as Miska leads them, "He is."
Tatum smiles up at him and hums softly, “You’re up there too, I guess.”
Gabe smirks and looks at her, "Oh, thanks babe."
She smirks back at him and kisses his shoulder, “Oh anytime, anytime.”
He laughs and shakes his head.
Tatum laughs with him and pulls him a little closer.
Gabe smiles and kisses her head.
She grins up at him and squeezes his hand, “Hmm..actually I think you might be on the top of the list.”
He fake gasps and grins, "Really? Me?"
Tatum laughs and nods her head, “Oh yeah, definitely you.” She reaches up with her free hand and holds his chin before leaning up to kiss him quickly.
Gabe smiles and returns the quick kiss, "Watch it, Tatum. I'm starting to think you have a crush on me."
She laughs and squeezes his jaw before dropping her hand, “Oh yeah? I’ll never confirm, babe.”
He laughs and shakes his head.
Tatum grins as she looks ahead, “Besides I already know you have a crush on me. You were crushing on me first.”
Gabe rolls his eyes, "crushing?"
She laughs and shrugs, “Okay wanted to fuck me first.”
He smirks, "That I'll admit to."
Tatum rolls her eyes and laughs, “You’re a masochist. I was..am sometimes so mean.”
Gabe laughs, "I just liked that you dished it back."
She hums softly and smirks, “Truthfully, from reading about you, I just thought you were a womanizing, egotistical asshole so I didn’t want you to be right about anything.”
He sighs and laughs, "Not even my own music!"
Tatum laughs and shrugs one shoulder, “Well, now I just tease you for fun. But..I’ll dish it back if I need to.”
Gabe raises his brows, "Well, I'm not a dick to you anymore."
She smiles and squeezes his hand, “I know. You’re almost too nice to me.”
He grins, "I'm definitely too nice to you."
Tatum raises her brows and laughs, “Oh? Go on. How?”
Gabe smirks, "I drive you everywhere."
She laughs and shakes her head, “I thought you weren’t my driver!”
He laughs, "I said I drive you everywhere, not that I'm your driver!"
Tatum leans her head against him and laughs, “You are impossible.”
Gabe grins and kisses the top of her head.
She shakes her head and laughs.
He smiles and Miska stops to sniff around.
Tatum watches Miska and stops with him.
Gabe stops walking and pulls Tatum close before kissing her.
She grins and puts her hand on his cheek as she returns the kiss.
He leans into her touch and smiles against her lips.
Tatum hums softly and kisses him happily.
He pulls back slowly after a moment and grins down at her.
She smiles back at him and strokes his jaw, “So I have little crush on you.”
Gabe grins, "I've known that since you called me babe."
Tatum wrinkles her nose at him and laughs, “Oh it slipped because your name is so close.”
He smirks and shakes his head, "You're a bad liar."
She grins and shakes her head before kissing him again and mumbling, “Shut up.”
Gabe chuckles against her lips and grins.
Tatum laughs into the kiss before pulling back slightly with a grin.
He smiles widely down at her, "Tate?"
She hums softly and raises her brows, “Yeah?”
Gabe nudges his nose against hers, "I want you to stay in LA.."
Tatum widens her eyes a little and sighs softly, “Gabe..”
His brows raise, "What?"
She brushes her thumb against his cheek, “I am really liking it here..with you and Miska but what about my life in New York? I’ve been there almost my whole life. I love it there.”
Gabe bites his lip, "I know.."
Tatum moves both arms around his middle, “I don’t know what to do. But I do know that I like you and I like writing with you.”
He nods his head and kisses her forehead, "I shouldn't have said anything. We'll talk about it once my home studio is finished."
She closes her eyes at his kiss and shakes her head, “It’s okay. But know I’m not disregarding it. I want to..but yeah..I can’t promise right now.”
Gabe nods his head, "I know."
Tatum rubs his back as she leans up to kiss him gently, “You promise you understand? Please don’t be hurt.”
He gives her a small look with a smile, "I promise I understand."
She smiles at him and nods her head, “Thank you.”
Gabe nods and pecks her lips, "You're welcome."
Tatum tilts her head to the side and hums, “This is when you are too nice to me.”
He smiles, "Why do you say that?"
She strokes his cheekbone and shrugs, “Because I would’ve been yelled at if I didn’t agree right away in the past.”
He fights a frown, "I'm not being too nice, Tatum. You never should've been treated like that in the first place."
Tatum hums and nods her head, “Still..you’re pretty understanding about my hesitance.”
Gabe shrugs a little, "New York is home."
She brushes her fingers over his jaw and smiles, “But you and Miska are family.”
He smiles and leans into her touch, "We will be no matter where you are."
Tatum smiles fondly at him, “You mean that?”
Gabe nods his head positively, "Of course."
She kisses him gently and smiles against his lips.
Gabe returns the kiss with a smile.
Tatum pulls back slightly and hums, “It’s peaceful here. And no prying eyes.”
He nods and smiles, “Yeah, very serene. It’s good to escape the city sometimes.”
She nods with a smile, “Next time we should come for a weekend.”
Gabe smiles, “That sounds fun.” He looks down and Miska is sunbathing at their feet.
Tatum smiles down at Miska and rubs Gabe’s back, “Should we keep going?”
Gabe nods and bends down, rubbing Miska’s belly, “Come on, boy, we have a walk to finish.” Miska gets up and waits for them.
She grins at them and reaches down to pet Miska’s head, “Sweet boy.”
He smiles, "He's the best." They start to walk again.
Tatum takes his hand and smiles, “He really is.”
Gabe smiles and laces their fingers together.
She squeezes his hand and smiles as she looks around, “This place probably helps inspire writing. It’s so beautiful and relaxing.”
He nods and smiles, "It is. I think I definitely had come up a with a few songs when I was here last."
Tatum laughs softly, “Next time we write an album, we are going away somewhere instead of staying in cities.”
Gabe nods and smiles, "I like that idea."
She nudges her nose against his shoulder with a smile, “First we need to get this one out to the world.”
He smiles, "It's almost time."
Tatum squeezes his hand with a grin, “I know. Your single comes out so soon.”
Gabe nods and smiles, "It is. My publicity team is really on me about Layla."
She raises her brows and nods her head, “Oh yeah? When’s that starting?”
He looks at her, "Next couple of weeks."
Tatum nods and hums softly, “How are you feeling about it?”
Gabe sighs, "I don't know, the tabloids already shit talk me."
She moves her free hand to rub his arm, “Yeah, unfortunately that’s true. But will it benefit your album and music?”
He shrugs, "I don't know."
Tatum hums softly, “Then why do it?”
Gabe raises his brows, "I don't have much of a choice."
She nods with a shrug, “Yeah I guess so.”
He looks at her, "Does it bug you?"
Tatum shrugs her shoulders a little, “No.”
Gabe nods his head, "Good, because it's nothing more than PR."
She hums and nods her head with a smirk, “Plus I’m sure she’s a people pleaser and you like how difficult I am.”
He rolls his eyes and laughs, "I'm never telling you anything anymore."
Tatum laughs and shakes her head, “But really, I trust you, Gabe. I know that you say it’s nothing, just never know about the other person.”
Gabe nods his head and kisses her temple, "I understand."
She smiles and squeezes his hand, “Should we turn around and head back to the car?”
He looks down at Miska who is panting and he nods and smiles, "Yeah, just a second." He opens his backpack and gives Miska some water.
Tatum nods and lets go of his hand, “Good idea. Give this guy and me a break.”
Gabe laughs and gets out a water bottle for her.
She grins and takes the water, “Thank you.”
He smiles, "You're welcome."
Tatum sips her water for a moment as she reaches down to pet Miska.
Gabe smiles at her, "You're getting to be so outdoorsy."
She grins up at him and shrugs her shoulders, “I’ll always be a city girl but the fresh air...”
He shakes his head and laughs.
Tatum laughs and shakes her head at him, “Don’t laugh at me, Gabriel.”
Gabe laughs, "Ohhh, she's pulling out the full name."
She grips his shirt and pulls him closer, “You bet I am.”
He laughs and leans down to kiss her.
Tatum grins and kisses him back.
Gabe smiles against her lips.
Her hand slides onto the side of his neck as she smiles into the kiss.
Gabe pulls back slowly after a moment and grins.
Tatum grins and scrunches her nose up at him.
He kisses the tip of her nose and smiles.
She laughs and shakes her head at him, “Cute.”
Gabe smiles and pecks her lips, "Yes you are."
Tatum nudges her nose against his with a grin, “Soft.”
He rolls his eyes and smiles, "let's head back to the car."
She laughs and takes his hand, “Okay, okay.”
Gabe smiles and Miska starts to lead them back.
The three of them return to the car and drive back to LA quickly before pulling into Gabe’s driveway. She smiles at him, “Thank you again for taking me there.”
He smiles at her, "I'm glad you enjoyed it."
Tatum squeezes his hand and smiles back at him.
Gabe gets out and opens her door for her before letting Miska out.
She gets out of the car and starts to head to the door, “Is Jo and Joel home?”
He shakes his head, "She texted me earlier, said that she was taking him to a mommy and me thing."
Tatum hums softly and nods her head as she goes inside, “She’s a good mom.”
Gabe nods and smiles, "She is, she's trying her best."
She helps take off Miska’s harness and smiles, “I like her a lot, she’s a sweet girl.”
He smiles at her, "She's the best little sister."
Tatum pets Miska and stands up straight, “You’re a great big brother, babe.”
Gabe grins, "Mean that?"
She wraps her arms around him and smiles, “Of course I do.”
He smiles and brings his arms around her, "Thank you."
Tatum nudges her nose against his and hums softly, “You’re welcome.”
Gabe smiles and kisses her softly.
She grins and returns the kiss, holding him closer.
He rubs her hips as they kiss, smiling into it.
Tatum smiles against his lips and rubs the back of his neck.
Gabe picks her up and sets her down on the counter as he slowly deepens the kiss.
She makes a soft sound before wrapping her legs around him and returning the deep kiss.
He grins a little and rubs her waist as they kiss.
Tatum slides her hands over his shoulders as she smiles at his grin.
Gabe moves closer to her as he kisses her harder.
She tilts her head to the side as she kisses him just as hard and slides one hand into his hair.
He parts her lips with his and hums.
Tatum opens her lips to him and slides her fingers through his hair.
Gabe moves his tongue over hers as they kiss.
She makes a soft sound as she moves her tongue with his.
He sucks on her tongue for a moment.
Tatum gently tugs on his hair and presses herself closer.
Gabe hums and kisses her harder just as Jolene comes into the kitchen with Joel in her arms, and she clears her throat loudly.
She pulls back quickly as she hears Jolene and widens her eyes, “Shit..”
He smiles at his sister, "Hey, Jo. How was mommy and me?" Jolene rolls her eyes and smiles, "It was good."
Tatum’s cheeks heat up as avoids looking at Jolene. She gently pushes Gabe forward a bit so she can hop off the counter.
Gabe raises his brows as he watches Tatum and then looks back at Jolene, "Did you already eat?" Jolene nods, "I got food with some of the other moms, I just came to get a bottle for Joel." She goes over to the fridge.
She glances at her and smiles as she rubs her cheek, “Do you need any help?”
Jolene shakes her head, "I've got it." Gabe grins, "You're making friends."
Tatum smiles as she looks from Jo to Gabe.
Jo laughs, "Don't make a big deal about it." She looks at them, "So when were you going to tell me that you two were official?"
She raises her brows and laughs softly as she looks up at Gabe.
Gabe shakes his head, "We're not." Jo arches a brow, "Okaaayyy. Try to keep the making out to private areas then." She laughs and carries Joel out. Gabe rolls his eyes.
Tatum laughs again as she leans her head against his chest when she walks out, “Oh man, I was hoping that would never happen.”
He laughs, "It's fine."
She laughs and moves her arms around his middle, “I know. I hope it doesn’t make things awkward though.”
He shakes his head and kisses her head, "You're fine, Tate."
Tatum nudges her nose against his chest then looks up at him with a smile, “Okay, you’re right.”
Gabe smiles and pecks her lips, "It's my house, she doesn't care."
She returns the kiss and nods, “I know, I know. And I’m sure she’s assumed with the sleepovers.”
He nods and laughs, "Exactly."
Tatum laughs and nudges her nose against his, “She’s the only person who knows about us.”
Gabe laughs and nods, "She is."
She hums and kisses him gently as she rubs his back.
He smiles against her lips as he returns the kiss.
Tatum smiles then pulls back slightly, “So no making out in shared areas huh?”
Gabe laughs, "We're still going to.'
She laughs and nudges her nose against his, “You’re bad.”
He shrugs and laughs, "Whoops."
Tatum smirks and shakes her head at him.
Gabe laughs and kisses her again.
She grins and returns the kiss, pressing herself closer.
He smiles and rubs her back as they kiss.
Tatum hums softly against his lips and moves her hands to the side of his neck.
Gabe leans into her touch and smiles into the kiss.
She grins against his lips before pulling back, “You looked so proud when she mentioned her friends.”
He smiles, "I'm happy for her."
Tatum runs one of her thumbs over his jaw and smiles, “Me too.”
Gabe smiles and pecks her lips.
She nudges her nose against his with a grin, “Should we shower from the hike?”
He laughs and nods, "Definitely."
Tatum grins and pulls away from him, grabbing his hand to lead him to the stairs.
He laughs softly as he follows her upstairs to his room.
She looks back at him and laughs, “Whaaat?”
He shakes his head and smiles, "Nothing."
Tatum laughs and pulls him towards the bathroom.
Gabe follows after her, squeezing her hand.
She pulls him close and grins as she pushes his shirt up.
He laughs and peels his shirt off before getting hers off of her as well.
Tatum grins and tosses hers to the side as she starts to push his shorts down.
Gabe laughs and gets his shorts off, "Wait, wait."
She raises her brows at him and laughs, “Yeah?”
He goes to the shower and turns it on before going back over to her and gets her bra off of her.
Tatum laughs and helps him pull off her bra, “This may be my favorite part about hiking..”
Gabe shakes his head and laughs, getting her pants and panties down her legs.
She pushes his boxers down and grins at him.
He smiles widely and kisses her softly.
Tatum brushes her thumb over his cheek and smiles into the kiss.
Gabe smiles and walks them over the shower as they kiss.
Tatum grins into the kiss as she walks back before breaking the kiss to get into the shower.
He follows her into the shower and closes the shower door.
She grins and pulls him under the water.
Gabe gets under the water with her and smiles, "I'm glad I have a double head shower."
Tatum laughs as she runs her hands through her hair, “And it’s tall enough for you.”
He laughs, "and I'm not blocking water from getting to you from it." He taps the shower head behind her.
Tatum nods as she kisses his chest gently with a laugh, “Definitely helpful.
Gabe laughs and rubs her lower back.
She grins as she kisses up to his neck gently.
He smiles and tilts his head to the side.
Tatum hums and leans up on her toes to nip at his jaw gently.
Gabe grins and squeezes her hips.
She kisses him softly and slides her hands over his back.
He hums into the kiss and tilts his head into it.
Tatum smiles against his lips and presses herself closer.
Gabe wraps his arms tight around her and deepens the kiss.
She slides her nails against his back and kisses him just as deeply.
He leans down to kiss her passionately.
Tatum makes a soft sound and kisses him harder.
Gabe picks her up, wrapping her legs around his waist.
She makes a soft sound and wraps her legs around him tightly, tugging on his hair gently.
He makes a small noise and presses her back against the wall.
Tatum whimpers softly as she presses her chest against his and kisses him harder.
Gabe whimpers and presses himself closer to her.
She drags her nails over his back and rolls her hips forward.
He makes a small noise and presses his hips into hers.
Tatum moans and breaks the kiss to catch her breath.
Gabe smirks and nips at her shoulder.
She laughs softly and tugs on his hair, “Babe..”
He grins, 'Yes?"
Tatum tilts her head to the side and smirks, “You are addicting.”
Gabe grins shyly, "So are you."
She nips at his lower lip and slides her fingers through his hair.
He leans his forehead against hers and moves his hand to rub her center.
Tatum gasps softly and grips his hair, “Gabe..”
He smirks and moves his fingers in circles against her.
She rolls her hips into his touch and moans softly.
Gabe grins and kisses her shoulder as he rubs her.
Tatum leans her head back against the shower wall as she whimpers louder.
He moves his fingers quicker against her clit.
She tugs on his hair and moans, “Fuck..Gabe..”
Gabe groans and moves his fingers to tease her entrance.
Tatum whimpers and rocks her hips forward.
He hums and pushes his fingers into her.
She moans his name and slides one hand down then scratching his back.
Gabe whimpers and thrusts his fingers quickly.
Tatum rocks her hips slightly as she leans her forehead against his and moans louder.
He nips at her neck, "Tate.."
She tilts her head to the side and whimpers.
"Touch me, Tatum," he mumbles against her skin as he thrusts his fingers.
Tatum slides her hand down his chest to grip his length as she moans softly.
Gabe groans and moves his fingers harder.
She leans her head back and moans louder as she twists her hand up and down, “Fuck..I can’t wait to feel you.”
He moans and smirks, kissing her neck, "Tell me more.."
Tatum brushes her thumb over his tip and whimpers, “I want your big cock to make me shake, babe. Fuck I’m so wet, you’re gonna slip out so fast..”
Gabe groans pushes his hips up into her hand, thrusting his fingers faster.
She cries out softly as she starts to move her hand faster, “Gabe..”
He groans and moves her hand before pulling his fingers out then thrusting into her hard.
Tatum cries out his name louder as she digs her nails into his back, “Fuck!”
Gabe moans her name and starts to quickly thrusts his hips.
She presses her lips to his feverishly as she moans into it.
He groans against her lips and moves his hips eagerly into hers.
Tatum drags her nails along his back as she breaks the kiss to moan louder, “I’m not going to last long..”
He nods and keeps thrusting his hips with a moan.
Tatum grips his hair with one hand as she cries out and feels her body tense up.
Gabe groans and slams his hips into hers repeatedly.
She cries out his name as her walls clench around him and she hits her climax.
He stills his hips for a moment as he moans before starting to move his hips again.
Tatum drops her head against his neck as she moans again, “Oh fuck..”
Gabe groans and pushes into her harder.
She scratches his back as she cries out against his neck.
He moans and moves his hips faster.
Tatum moans his name and leans her head back, “Fuck..”
Gabe groans grips her thighs tight as he moves his hips.
She grips his hair as she feels her legs shake, “I’m gonna..fuck I’m close..”
He feels his abdomen tighten and he groans, "Me too.."
Tatum’s stomach tightens again as she cries out louder and hits her climax quickly.
His abdomen tightens and he groans, pushing into her hard as he climaxes.
She moans his name and she leans her forehead against his as her hips shake slightly.
Gabe groans and presses himself closer to her.
Tatum gently combs her fingers through his hair as she tries to catch her breath.
Gabe kisses her softly.
She slips her hand down to his cheek as she smiles against his lips.
He pulls out of her and slowly sets her down as they kiss.
Tatum hums against his lips as she rubs his sides slowly.
Gabe pulls back and smiles at her.
She laughs breathlessly and nudges her nose against his jaw, “So good..”
He smirks and kisses her temple, "Always is."
She laughs and kisses his chest, “Cocky.”
Gabe grins, "Am I wrong?"
Tatum hums as she pretends to think and taps her chin.
He rolls his eyes and smirks, grabbing body wash and starting to wash her up.
Tatum grins and closes her eyes at his touch.
Gabe hums to himself as he gets her all clean before putting shampoo in his hands to shampoo her hair.
She smiles and leans into his touch, “You’re the best.”
He smiles and massages her scalp as he shampoos her hair, "Thank you."
Tatum hums happily and rubs his sides.
Gabe smiles and rinses the shampoo out of her hair before conditioning it.
She looks up at him and smiles, “My legs are so shaky.”
His brows raise, "You wanna get out after I finish?"
Tatum shakes her head and rubs his chest, “Let me wash you first.”
Gabe nods his head and rinses her hair for her, "Ready."
She smiles and pecks his lips, putting shampoo in her hand, “Lean down.”
He laughs and leans down.
Tatum grins and lathers his hair with the shampoo.
Gabe hums softly and closes his eyes.
She studies his face as she massages his scalp.
Gabe laughs, "Gotta get a bench in here."
Tatum laughs and nods her head, “That’s a great idea.”
He chuckles, "Think that Jacob can do that for me too?"
She laughs and shrugs her shoulders, “Probably. Or knows someone who can. Can you grab me the shower head?”
Gabe nods and gets the shower head behind him.
Tatum uses the head to rinse his hair and smiles, “What else have you guys discussed about the studio?”
He nods and smiles, "Yeah, but we decided not to do it til close to the album being released so this way you can stay longer."
Tatum hands him back the shower head as she gets conditioner with a smile, “Is it just a studio or are you going to make it more of a guest house?”
Gabe smiles, "I'm gonna have two, studio and pool house so Jo can have her own space."
She starts to condition his hair and hums softly, “That’s very sweet of you.”
He shrugs and smiles, "She'll need it and want it."
Tatum presses her lips to his cheek a few times, “And then we can make out wherever we want.”
Gabe chuckles and shakes his head.
She laughs and rinses his hair from the conditioner before grabbing the soap.
He stands up straight and smiles.
Tatum grins at him as she starts to wash his body, “Yeah, stretch that neck, Giant.”
Gabe makes a face, "What?"
She laughs and continues to wash him before rinsing, “You’re just tall and you have to bend for everything.”
He shakes his head and laughs.
Tatum helps rinse him off and grins, “Okay all done.”
He smiles and turns off the shower before opening the door and getting them towels.
She thanks him and grabs the towel as she steps out.
Gabe dries off and wraps the towel around his waist before getting out.
Tatum wraps her towel around her body and shakes her legs out a little with a laugh.
He laughs, "Come on, let's go to my room."
She nods and follows him to his room with a smile.
Gabe smiles and changes into a pair of boxers and sweatpants.
Tatum puts on some underwear and t shirt before going to crawl into his bed.
He laughs and follows her into bed, pulling blankets over them.
She smiles and moves her index finger to draw over his chest.
He smiles to himself and kisses her head.
Tatum hums one of their songs softly as she nudges her nose against his.
Gabe grins and rubs her back.
She grins back at him and scoots closer.
He smiles and kisses her softly.
Tatum returns the kiss with a smile as she starts to hear her phone buzz. She ignores it and tangles her legs with his.
Gabe smiles and plays with her hair as they kiss.
She hums against his lips and smiles as she hears her phone go buzz even more.
He pulls back and laughs, "You should get that."
Tatum wrinkles her nose and nods as she rolls away from him to grab her phone on the side table. She raises her brows and gasps softly before sitting up, “Oh shit.”
His brows furrow, "What?"
She widens her eyes a little as she scrolls along an article before handing the phone over to him that shows pictures of them walking with Joel.
Gabe looks over the article and starts laughing.
Tatum furrows her brows at him and shakes her head, “Why are you laughing?”
His brows raise, "Secret baby? Christ."
She laughs softly and nods, “I know that’s ridiculous but..what are we doing to do?”
Gabe looks at her, "Do we need to do anything? We know it's not true."
Tatum sighs softly, “I know we know but what about everyone else? It’s going to look like I got this job from nepotism.”
He shrugs, "Then make a statement. Just ask Jo first."
She runs her fingers through her hair and sighs, “I’ve never had a situation like this before. I didn’t think I ever would.”
Gabe laughs, "Welcome to my life."
Tatum smiles weakly and leans back against the pillows.
His brows raise, "What do you want me to do?"
She shakes her head and shrugs, “I don’t know. I’m just..I don’t want this to hurt my reputation.”
Gabe nods a little, "Well, you didn't have a baby with me."
Tatum laughs softly and nods her head, “I know.”
He shrugs, "So then it won't hurt your reputation."
She picks at the blanket and nods, “But even without the baby..will people assume more?” She takes her phone back and goes onto Instagram, “I’m going to look.”
Gabe sighs softly, "If you want to."
Tatum looks over at him and sighs, “I’m not used to this, Gabe. I don’t really know how to handle it.”
He shrugs, "That's why I said if you want to."
She puts her phone down, “But what should I do?”
Gabe raises his brows, "I guess, reach out to my PR team?"
Tatum bites her lower lip and nods her head.
His frowns, "What's wrong?"
She shrugs and lays back down, “I just have been so wrapped up in us and having fun that I guess I forgot that this could happen.”
Gabe bites his lip, "We weren't even holding hands or kissing."
Tatum nods her head and smiles, “I know. I guess I wasn’t expecting it so soon.”
He looks at her, "What can I do?"
She scoots closer to him and lays her head against his shoulder, “I don’t know right now.”
Gabe frowns, "I'm sorry."
Tatum shakes her head, “You don’t have to apologize.”
He shrugs, "I feel like I do."
She kisses his shoulder, “You don’t. It’s out of your control as much as it is mine.”
Gabe half smiles, "Okay.."
Tatum smiles and plays with his fingers, “I guess it’s back to laying low for a bit?”
He nods and smiles, "Probably."
She nods and nudges her nose against his jaw gently, “I’m sorry that I freak out about this stuff, babe.”
Gabe nods a little, "It's okay, you're new to it."
Tatum half smiles and leans her head against his shoulder again.
He wraps his arms around her.
She curls into him and kisses his neck gently.
Gabe rubs her back and hums.
Tatum draws a pattern over his chest and sighs softly.
He fights a frown and kisses her head.
She smiles softly and puts her leg over his, “If I don’t put out a statement is that bad? I don’t know if I want to draw any more attention.”
Gabe shrugs a little, "Not really, I don't put out statements a lot. The people who matter know it's fake."
Tatum nods her head and continues to move her nails over his skin, “What do we say to the people at work?”
He laughs, "If they ask, then we tell them."
She looks up at him and laughs softly, “I just hope it’s not awkward.”
Gabe shrugs and laughs, "We don't have a baby together, so it won't be."
Tatum laughs and lays her head back down, “You’re right.”
He nods and kisses her head.
She runs her fingers over his shoulder and smiles to herself.
Gabe closes his eyes, "We'll figure it out tomorrow."
Tatum nods her head and curls into him more.
He rubs her back and hums softly.
She smiles and kisses his shoulder gently.
Gabe smiles, "Goodnight, Tate.."
She closes her eyes and hums, “Night, Gabe..”
He holds her close before starting to fall asleep with her.
Tatum relaxes into him before falling asleep with him.

A Lucky Night- Chapter 7
Here is my multi-chapter pic featuring characters I do not own from Criminal Minds, Alvez x Garcia, in a story of my own creation. It picks up at the end of 13.5.
Warning: Some chapters contain smut. While many do not, the ones that do are definitely 18+, NSFW.
Please feel free to re-blog and review! Please ask for permission before posting on any other platform.
Penelope blinked her eyes, still mostly asleep. The room was awash in light… It must be early morning. Where are my glasses? She flung an arm out, feeling around the nightstand for the plain, black frames. Suddenly she remembered, she hadn’t gone to bed alone and she froze. A strong, firm arm tightened around her waist, pulling her back into the solid wall of Luke’s chest. Her eyes fluttered closed, and she bit her lower lip. She drew her hand up to cover his where it wrapped around her waist, lacing her fingers in between his. She felt his chin graze her shoulder as he leaned over her, his warm breath tickling the small hairs at the back of her neck, the scratch of his stubble sending electric shocks across her skin.
“Mmmm, good morning Beautiful,” Luke said, his voice still raspy from sleep. “I’ve been watching you sleep and waiting for you to wake up so we can start our date.” He smiled, happy that she had laced her fingers through his and settled so comfortable into his embrace. He’d only been awake a few minutes longer than she, but he was glad he’d had the chance to oberve her. Her peaceful expression as she slept had been captivating. Even the small sounds she made were adorable- the little breathy gasps, and the occasional quiet snores.
Penelope rolled over to face him, hoping her breath wasn’t awful. Leaning back a little, she tilted her face to look up at his. “You’ve been watching me sleep?” she asked, a slight teasing note in her voice. “Creeper.” Oh, please let him not have been watching long. Heaven forbid she’d done anything embarrassing. “So, what’s the plan for today?” she asked, curious.
“Well, there’s more than one plan. I’ve got quite a few surprises up my sleeve. But the first order of business is me walking Roxy and giving her some breakfast while you shower. Then I will jump in if you don’t mind, and once we’re ready we will go grab some brunch,” he said, smiling as her eyes lit up. He continued, “There’s a place up the highway a few miles that’s known for their French toast and eggs benedict. Thought we’d order a few things to share, with a side of bacon for me. They have a little patio so we can even take Roxy, and then I’ve arranged to drop her off at the dog sitter’s so we can enjoy the rest of the day’s activities,” he said, a grin lighting his face. He trailed his fingers along the skin of her lower back, his hands tucked just under her camisole, setting off little fires as his slightly callused fingers dragged across her smooth skin.
Penelope shivered deliciously, arching her body into his and moaning slightly. “That sounds like a great start to the day,” she agreed whole-heartedly. She continued, her voice taking on a teasing tone, “What should I wear for these mysterious surprise activities to follow? A dress and stilettos? A haz-mat suit? A pair of overalls and a straw hat?” she asked, smirking up at the handsome man holding her tight, one eyebrow playfully raised. Gosh, I could stare into his brown eyes all day. Maybe we should just stay here in bed…
Luke reached a finger out and tucked a wayward curl that had escaped from her ponytail behind her ear. Leaning forward, he kissed her on the mouth long and slow. His tongue slipped between her lips, tangling with hers and drinking her in. He drank in her sweet taste, glad that his patience all these months as he broke down the walls she’d built around her had paid off.
After a moment he pulled back, and smiled down at her. “I’m sure you’d look adorable in any of those outfits. But the haz-mat suit might be a little too restrictive. You can wear whatever you’d prefer for breakfast, but later in the day you will want something comfortable and a pair of sneakers to change into. Then this evening you will want something nice that you can move in, and definitely a pair of heels but not ones that are uncomfortable,” he answered, his hand now massaging the back of her neck. “Now go get in the shower, so we can get you something to eat before your stomach rumbles,” he said, punctuating the last word with a firm kneading of her bottom through her shorts.
Penelope groaned at the feeling of his large hands moving over her. She’d rather grind her hips into his than move to the bathroom as he’d suggested, but she managed to tear herself out of his arms. She pulled her ponytail holder out, shaking her head to release the strands as she walked. She was almost out the door on her way to the bathroom, when his voice stopped her. “Oh, and Penelope?” he said, his voice suddenly smooth and seductive. She turned back towards where he still lay in her bed. “Before day’s end we are going to be naked together,” he said, his eyes roving her body as he looked her up and down. Penelope felt a blush spread across her face, down her neck… “Hell, there’s probably not a part of me that isn’t flushed!” she thought. She bit her lip, dragging a hand through her hair as she looked at the impossible sexy picture – Luke, lit by the hot pink glow of her lamps, sprawled across her luscious, purple sheets, his hair sexily tousled, a lazy grin on his perfect, lush lips that were framed by a light dusting of facial hair above his lip and across his chiseled jaw.
She took in his toned arms that had held her all night, the muscles covering his washboard abs and sculpted chest that rippled with even the slightest movement, his perfect ass outlined by the workout shorts as he lay on his side. “How did I ever lure such a gorgeous man into my arms, my bed? Me, Penelope Grace Garcia? Goddess of technical excavation and analytical acrobatics, yes. Sexual conquests? No, no ma’am,” she wondered, shocked and delighted, yet anxious. It made absolutely no sense that someone like him is here with her, especially after she had given him such a hard time since he joined the BAU. Lying about a boyfriend, ignoring his efforts to make small talk, calling him Newbie all the time. And yet, here he was. At any moment, this could all end- he could recover his senses- but until he did she was going to make the most of every moment. She would deal with the emotional fallout when the time comes.
Watching her look him over, Luke saw her skin flush and the sight turned him on immediately. She was so gorgeous- curves in all the right places with a face that displayed her every emotion. The woman didn’t have a disingenuous, calculating bone in her body. He stretched a little under her gaze, his body reacting to her presence in a soon-to-be-noticeable way. His attention, however, was diverted from his tightening shorts to Penelope as he saw a look of uncertainty flash across her features. What was his Chica thinking about, that had changed her look from one of lazy lust and flushed awareness of his intimate gaze to an expression of doubt?
Realizing she was staring, and that his eyes had traded their sexual intensity for a more questioning expression, Penelope shook her head and her thoughts away. She blew a kiss at Luke, winking at him in an exaggerated fashion. “Oh lover, be careful what you wish for. You might be in for more than you can handle,” she teased. She sashayed out of the room, trailing her fingers through the turquoise-beaded curtains as she glanced back at her date.
Luke threw on his shirt from the night before, slipped on his shoes, and clipped a leash to Roxy’s collar. Pocketing Penelope’s keys so he could re-enter the apartment, he locked the door and led Roxy down the stairs. Whistling, he walked her around the block, allowing her to stop and use the bathroom. He returned Roxy to the apartment, and threw together her breakfast quickly. Pulling his phone out, he sent a few more texts and emails to make arrangements for the rest of their day together.
Penelope showered as fast as she could, taking the time to shave her legs. Afterwards she rubbed lotion all over her body, and then applied makeup for the day. Deciding that she didn’t want to deal with glasses, she put in her contacts. She packed a few of her favorite items into a travel makeup bag, thinking she might want to switch it up this evening depending on where they went. She towel-dried her hair, working a handful of mouse through the blond waves. Then she pleated it into a loose, wispy braid. She tucked a couple of sparkly rhinestone-tipped bobby pins into the top, anchoring her wispy side bangs. She peeked out of the bathroom, her body wrapped in a fluffy towel. She didn’t see Luke or Roxy in the hall or bedroom, so she padded across. Closing the door behind her, she crossed to her closet.
Darn that gorgeous man. As if picking a date outfit wasn’t hard enough, she apparently need several. “I can’t be exactly sure what to pick since I don’t know what we are doing or where we are going!” Penelope rifled through her closet, considering and then discarding choice after choice. Finally, she settled on a short, acid wash denim skirt layered over a pair of bright purple and teal leggings that had large hot-pink peonies trailing up the side. She paired that with a tight, hot-pink halter top and a teal sweater. She threw on some socks and her sparkly, purple high-top sneakers. Then she pulled out a small duffle bag, in which she threw her travel makeup bag, a hair brush and some hair spray, a stick of extra deodorant, a pair of thigh-high, lace-edged stockings, a corseted rose-gold top with a sweetheart neckline, a black tulle, ruffled mini skirt, a short, black faux-fur shrug, and a pair of 3-inch glittery rose-gold stilettos that wrapped around her ankles and tied into bows. She threw a few pieces of matching jewelry and a black lace clutch on top before zipping the bag shut. “I hope this outfit is appropriate for whatever he has in store.”
Luke heard Penelope’s footsteps in the hall, followed by the bedroom door closing. He grabbed his go bag, and made his way into her bathroom. He brushed his teeth, and then pulled out his razor and shaved. Turning the water in the shower to hot, he got in and washed his hair and body. Rinsing off, he stepped out and wrapped the towel Penelope had left out for him around his waist. He sprayed himself with cologne and made to exit the bathroom.
Penelope exited her bedroom, slinging the bag she had packed over her shoulder. She opened the door and stepped into the hallway just in time to hear the water in the shower shut off. “Ahhh, Luke is back from walking Roxy. And he’s in my shower, naked.” Before her mind could even wrap itself around the delicious possibility for an illicit daytime fantasy that such a prospect offered, the door to the bathroom swung open and she was face-to-face with a very real vision of one Special Supervisory Agent Luke Alvez, his cinnamon-colored, tan skin slick with beaded water, a towel wrapped low on his hips. Penelope was left speechless. She could only swallow the lump that had formed in her throat. Her pink tongue darted across her lips, wetting them. The marvel of masculine perfection before her narrowed his eyes seductively, pursing his lips charmingly. He took two steps closer to her, taking her by the hand and holding her arm out away from her body.
“Daaaayum, Chica. You look foxy, mama. I can’t believe I’m the lucky guy who woke up with you in my arms and gets to spend the whole day with you,” Luke said, pulling her in tightly against his still-damp chest. He meant every word of it- she looked amazing in the brightly colored tights, denim skirt and halter top. Her makeup enhanced her brown eyes and porcelain skin. And the braid in her hair was casual yet elegant. But nothing made her sexier than the look of pure, unadulterated need in her eyes as she stared at him, licking her perfectly pouty lips. He pressed his lips to hers, then trailed a string of hot, open-mouthed kisses down her neck to her collarbone. His facial hair scratched his delicate skin deliciously, and his wet, curly hair dripped tiny beads of water that ran down her neck into the crevice between her breasts. Penelope moaned, and Luke dragged his mouth back to hers, kissing her deeply and thoroughly. When he lifted his head, Penelope was left panting, staring at him. He chuckled, his voice low and gravelly. “Speechless, Chica?” he asked. All she could do was nod.
Chuckling again, Luke let go of Penelope and stepped into her bedroom. “I’m gonna throw on some clothes. If you’ve got your wits back by the time I get back we can head out to breakfast,” he said, smirking smugly as he turned and headed into the bedroom, not even bothering to close the door behind him before he let the towel fall. Penelope caught an eye-full of his taught, muscular ass and thighs, and the rippling muscles of his literally perfect back. She whirled on her heel, hustling into her living room before she saw more. There is NO WAY she could just sit casually across from him at Breakfast if she got a XXX glimpse of Luke.
Penelope occupied herself unloading the dishwasher, watering her plant, and tidying up the room before getting Roxy’s leash clipped onto her collar. She’d briefly considered standing in front of the freezer for a few moments to cool herself down, but thought she’d look ridiculous. She heard steps on the floor behind her, and straightened to see Luke had joined her. He was now dressed in black slacks, a bluish-gray short-sleeved V-neck tee, and his black dress shoes. He had go bag and his black leather jacket in his hands. “Ready, Penelope?” he asked with a shy smile.
Penelope didn’t answer, she merely grabbed Roxy’s leash, grabbed her date “go bag” and walked to the front door. The butterflies in her stomach were literally dancing the Macarena. Luke bit his lip, nodded his head and smiled, following her to the door. He took the key from her hand and locked it behind them. They walked to Luke’s truck, hand in hand.
Luke opened the door, allowing Roxy to jump in and then helped Penelope climb up. His hand lingered on the small of her back, and this time when he reached across her to fasten her seatbelt she didn’t protest, she merely watched him intently as he leaned in close and pulled the strap tightly across her chest. The back of his hand just barely brushed the chest, so lightly it could have been imagined but she sucked a breath in, her entire body at attention. Luke straightened slowly, his gaze lingering on her lips before he finally withdrew and closed her door gently, deliberately. In three strides he had rounded the truck swiftly. He climbed in, turned the key and she felt the engine roar to life.
Luke checked the mirrors, and maneuvered the truck onto the street. Within a few moments they were driving along in comfortable silence, although Penelope’s entire body was anything but comfortable. Every single one of her nerve endings was at attention. His very presence was intoxicating. Just sitting in this car, with his German Shepherd between them, and she was as giddy as a school girl. “What have you gotten yourself into Penelope? You’re in way over your head with a guy like Luke. He’s like walking sex.”
Penelope glanced over at Luke from under her eyelashes. He had started humming under his breath. She didn’t recognize the tune, but it was definitely upbeat- happy. She admired the elegant line of his neck as he turned to check his blind spot before changing lanes. She observed the relaxed but strong grip of his left hand on the top of the steering wheel, and watched fondly as his right hand reached over to scratch affectionately behind Roxy’s ears. And then, her heart nearly caught in her throat as he reached over the dog and slid his hand over to grab hers, lacing their fingers together before he laid their entwined hands on her thigh. Her heart pounded giddily, and she almost missed the quiet, but absolutely contented sigh Luke breathed. The sound washed over her, sending warmth rushing all the way to her toes. Could this really be happening?
Before she knew it, they were pulling into the gravel parking lot of the breakfast spot Luke had chosen. The building was painted a cheery yellow color, with cobalt blue trim. Penelope squealed, “Ooooh, what a cute spot!” she exclaimed. It was a quirky place, and Penelope was glad her outfit wouldn’t be out of place. Next time she came here, she was SO wearing her red cowboy boots! “This place is the perfect mix of funky and pretty!” she said, turning to Luke and grinning widely.

Holiday Gift Guides For Everyone On Your List (With Stuff Under $20 – And Even $5!)
I’m a little late with this, so thank you to everyone who so sweetly inquired about the whereabouts of our annual gift guide. Here she blows! We’ve crammed everything into one big post – so here you’ll find a gift guide for grown-ups, one for the kids (including a bunch of things we got for our own kids or that they already have & love) and a bonus gift guide full of stuff that’s under $20 (some is even under $10 – and a few things are under $5!!!). So without further ado, let’s get to the goods.
Holiday Gifts For Grown Ups
1. I’ve purchased four of these gorgeous pillows covers (these & these are my faves).
2. This planter phone dock is a practical yet beautiful gift that’d get appreciated every day.
3. This well rated reversible leather tote comes with the wristlet (it’s basically a 3-in-1 gift!).
4. Santa got me Absolutely Beautiful Things last year and the photos are pure eye candy.
5. This minimalist teak wall shelf is beautiful, functional, & can slip into nearly any room.
6. These striped PJs with eye mask are 95% cuter than the old painting clothes I sleep in.
7. Some of the best gifts are splurges you wouldn’t get yourself, like this inlay frame.
8. Gadget loving John asked Santa for these smart plugs that are voice controlled by Alexa.
9. We’ve had this Shark vacuum for years & LOVE it (no cord!). Just got the beach house one!
10. We all have that glamorous friend & this fancy cheese board is her in cheese board form.
11. The charm is basically dripping off of this old school alarm clock in its deep green color.
12. Nothing’s more satisfying than a pressure washer (nothing!). Here’s the one we have/love.
13. Also on John’s list is an Amazon Echo Dot, which does tons & even works as an intercom.
14. This duffel with leather straps is another one of those good looking yet practical gifts.
15. Move over other gifts on this list, because pizza socks are my favorite thing of the year.
16. A heavy duty tool box keeps everything organized, yet easily transportable. Win/win.
17. John agonized over new laptop bag & tons of you said “An eBag!” Good call, he loves it.
18. This faux leopard throw is marked down & SO COZY (we have one on our couch). Defintiely something they’d use for years. Or get it for yourself and thank me later ;)
Ok, three deep breaths and then it’s onto the stuff for the kids! HUZZAH!
Holiday Gifts For Kiddos
1. A World Full Of Animal Stories has gorgeous pages that could also be framed!
2. This personalized bowling set is such a thoughtful gift (hello, family heirloom?!)
3. Patches are the perfect stocking stuffers with a built-in activity! Love this ice cream patch.
4. Yup, more patches! Our kids dig the DIY nature of ’em. Like this watermelon patch.
5. These bug patches kill me. Make shirts, decorate a jean jacket, we even do doll clothes.
6. Our girl loves robots, so we got her this emoji coding robot & can’t wait for her reaction.
7. I can’t explain why kids love pushing something around like this wooden shopping cart more than any other gift, but it’s a true phenomenon.
8. This vintage play food set will get broken out for every stuffed animal picnic. So sweet.
9. Santa’s also bringing Jenga to our house this year. Such a fun game for kids of all ages.
10. These Puffin In Bloom Series books are beautiful & total classics (great sale right now!).
11. My friend Heather makes these amazing painted peg sets and the kids adore them.
12. In our house, blocks are always a favorite. This mega wooden block set is awesome.
13. Temporary tattoos are kinda like patches. Great for stockings & there’s a built-in activity!
14. Kids flock to these craft scissors like crazy. Great for little artists & inventors.
15. Speaking of little inventors, we have My Crazy Invention Sketchbook and it’s a favorite.
16. Our kids are so into Blankie Tails. They have this one & this one & take ’em everywhere.
17. Fun hats like this llama winter hat are great stocking stuffers that go over really well.
18. Our kids love toys like this wooden marble run. Tempted to get it as their “joint gift.”
19. One last fun hat (this time it’s a dinosaur fleece hat) for the dino-loving kids in your life.
And now onto my personal favorite gift guide of the year. The under $20 roundup! I love the idea of something inexpensive yet super thoughtful or even personalized. So let’s dive right in.

2. This sweet Besties book is so beautiful and thoughtful. I’d tuck little notes inside too.
3. This pretty purse comes in so many great colors (love the brown & black too) and it’s $9.99!
4. When a shirt makes me LOL, it makes it onto the gift guide. Well done, fitness t-shirt.
5. I love a fun combo-move gift, so this cute $15 dog planter + any plant = a fun choice.
6. You know I love earrings fiercely & these $4.90 cubic zirconia earrings are so chic.
7. Staying on the earring train for a sec to shout out these $3.90 (!!!!) gold hoops!
8. These pretty personalized feeling brass monogram ornaments are a sweet idea.
9. A fun $8 felted monogram ornament also feels customized and thoughtful.
10. Just heard a brass grasshopper on the mantel is good luck (I have one!). Cute story & gift!
11. These $6 irregular bud vases come in such great colors! Pop in a flower for extra credit.
12. This graphic $15 pillow is a blogger fav & it’s easy to see why. Such a versatile shape too.
13. We love Helo Birdie art prints (this one too). She also has lovely original paintings!
14. For the person who has everything: an $8 house tissue holder is adorable & functional.
15. This $15 dog breed pillow is one of the best deals here (free monogrammed dog name!)
16. Everyone’s telling me these $19.99 velvet slippers are so good. And I love both colors!
